5. Ganbare☆Wrestling Vs Tomodachi-gun: Minoru Fujita & Yukihiro Abe defeated Ken Ohka & Shota when Fujita pinned Ohka with the Sasuke Segway (16:32).

The main event immediately began Ken Ohka and Yukihiro Abe brawling around ringside. Later members of Tomodachi-gun got rid of the referee whenever the Ganpuro team had the match won. Minoru Fujita took control and hit move after move on Ohka until he finally put him away with the Sasuke Segway. After the match Fujita offered Ohka an ultimatum. Either let Tomodachi-gun book the January show or they will all skip it and come back in February. Heck, maybe they’ll skip February too!

When Tomodachi-gun left ringside Ohka broke down into tears. The other members of Ganpuro all tried to fire him up with words of encouragement and also by physically striking him. Ohka snapped out of it and accepted Tomodachi-gun’s demand for next month.

The Ganbare☆Wrestling Grand Prix 2015 Awards were announced at the start of the show. A ceremony for the awards will take place on 24th January. The results are:

One half of the previous champions Daisuke Sasaki has been excluded from the tournament because his current partner Suguru Miyatake has not been good enough to earn a spot.

Rekka is from New Taiwan Entertainment Wrestling Federation. He joins a special team made up of a Japanese, an American and a Taiwanese. Konosuke Takeshita is the Japanese wrestler and Hiroshi Fukuda is the American.

4. KO-D Openweight Title: Isami Kodaka (c) Vs Tetsuya Endo

Tetusya Endo feels that his non-title victory over Isami Kodaka on yesterday’s BOYZ show is proof that he deserves his title shot and did not just get it because of a fluke Rock-Paper-Scissors tournament.

Both Antonio Honda and Akito are claiming the No. 1 Contendership for the DDT Extreme Title. The championship is very important to Akito and hates how Kendo Kashin treated the belt when he won it. Honda wants another shot at Kashin and his unusual match stipulations.

Yusuke Kubo has been added to the show.

The show was a homecoming for both Ken Ohka and Yoshiaki Yago. Ohka had the spotlight in the main event and was given a bouquet of flowers before the match. Kota Umeda’s first outing as an official member of Shuten-dōji didn’t go so well. He was given the Danshoku Driver and Somato during the finishing sequence. Yukio Sakaguchi was incapacitated by Danshoku Dino’s Lip Lock. After the match Ohka talked about when he began wrestling and being told he was too weak to become a pro wrestler. But he grew and grew enough to became a champion and now he won a main event in his hometown.

Keisuke Ishii and Tetsuya Endo had to be pulled apart after Match #3.

Whatever problems there were between HARASHIMA and Hiroshi Tanahashi is now all water under the bridge. The two faced off in a tag team match for the first time since August with HARASHIMA looking to redeem himself in front of the New Japan ace. HARASHIMA and Ken Ohka had the home field advantage with everyone in the audience chanting for DDT and booing the New Japan team. Tanahashi ignored HARASHIMA and instead glared at Ohka. Yohei Komatsu then attacked HARASHIMA to start the match. Tanahashi continued to get booed especially when he worked over Ohka. But Ohka caught Tanahashi off guard with the Kamikaze and made the hot tag to HARASHIMA. Ohka later helped HARASHIMA avoid a Superplex by grabbing Tanahashi’s leg as he stood on the turnbuckles. HARASHIMA then rocked Tanahashi with a Rock Punch during an Elbow Strike exchange. Ohka readied himself for the Spear Of Flame but Tanahashi stopped it and attacked Ohka’s legs with the Dragon Screw, a low Dropkick and a Texas Cloverleaf. Komatsu did his part and prevented HARASHIMA from breaking the hold yet Ohka was able to reach the ropes. The tables were turned when Tanahashi held Ohka in a Full Nelson and Komatsu charged in for a Clothesline. Ohka escaped and Tanahashi took the blow. HARASHIMA focused on Komatsu and hit the Falcon Arrow and a High Kick. He went for the Somato but Komatsu rolled out of the way. Tanahashi tried to get involved but Ohka of all people took him out with the Spear Of Flame! HARASHIMA flipped Komatsu over with the Reverse Frankensteiner and hit the Somato for the victory.

tanahashi-powerpoint1

While Ohka and HARASHIMA celebrated, Tanahashi was quick to leave the ring. It looked like he was about to leave but he instead walked over to the timekeeper’s table and opened up a MacBook. “Although this is immediately after the match has ended, I want to start the presentation!” That’s right, Tanahashi was going to present everyone his very own Powerpoint presentation! Titled “How To Liven Up More Worlds Of Professional Wrestling” Tanahashi introduced himself as “New Japan flesh that has been carefully trained in the dojo.” He also revealed he got written permission from Super Sasadango Machine to do this.

tanahashi-powerpoint

Tanahashi wants to spice up pro wrestling and spoke about the famous Keiji Muto Vs Nobuhiko Takada match from 1995, a match that at the time featured the ace of New Japan against the ace of UWF-I in an exciting dream bout. Twenty years later Tanahashi wondered if he and HARASHIMA would be able to elicit the same kind of excitement and enthusiasm for their match this past August. Unfortunately that didn’t happen and Tanahashi let his emotions get the better of him in his post-match comments. He now apologises to HARASHIMA and encourages him to continue down the road as the ace of DDT. Going back to spicing up the wrestling world, Tanahashi had some announcements to make in regards to his 2016 plans. He will win the IWGP Heavyweight Title at the Tokyo Dome in January, he will win the G1 Climax in August, he will enter the 2016 DDT Dramatic General Election and he will also enter the unit portion of the election in order to win and book his own DDT show next November! Learning his lesson from last time, HARASHIMA did not try to shake hands with Tanahashi. Instead he stuck out his fist and Tanahashi gave him a fist bump in response. Tanahashi offered to fist bump Ohka but Ohka told him to headbutt him instead. They gently bumped their heads together, smiled and gave each other a nod before Tanahashi left. HARASHIMA admitted feeling a bit confused but thanked Ohka, Danshoku Dino and Muscle Sakai for doing everything they could to make the match happen. He also thanked New Japan, Tanahashi and Komatsu for accepting their request.

takeshita-suitcase

Today’s show booked by #OhkaEmpire was a throwback to the old Muscle shows. It couldn’t officially be labelled as such because the next Muscle show is not supposed to take place until 6th October 2030 at the Tokyo Dome. However Muscle Sakai saw that today was enough of a special occassion to re-enter the ring and wrestle Konosuke Takeshita. Sakai targeted Takeshita’s right arm and eventually hit three Lehmann Shocks. When he was about to do the third one the arena darkened, “Etupirika” started playing and everything slowed down. We could hear the voices of Sakai’s and Takeshita’s hearts speak while Sakai and Takeshita fought in slow motion. Takeshita slowly pinned Sakai with the German Suplex and the match ended. Sakai awarded him with a Money In The Back suitcase (that’s right, suitcase) that guarantees him a spot on the next Muscle show in 2030. Takeshita said he may be wrestling overseas for a major company by then but if that does happen he promises to travel back to Japan to be on the show.

The undercard featured a team challenge between the old and new generation of Muscle wrestlers. The Old Muscle team won the first match in a contest where only cradles, School Boys and other pin attempt moves were allowed. Choun-Shiryu & Pedro Takashi both revealed they were now insurance salesmen and they tricked their opponents to lie down on the canvas to sign a new insurance plan. They rolled them up for the three count. The New Muscle team won Match #2 which was a Best 2 out of 3 Falls match between Danshoku Dino & Antonio Honda against KAT-TOO. The New Muscle team won the first two falls back to back. The deciding contest was an arm wrestling contest between Muscle cameraman Kazunori Huzioka and comedian Ryota Yamazato. Huzioka won it for Old Muscle!

Tomorrow HARASHIMA & Tanahashi Will Meet Again!

DDT “#OHKAEMPIRE BOX OFFICE ~MUSCLE MATES 2015~”, 17/11/2015
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. HARASHIMA & Ken Ohka Vs Hiroshi Tanahashi & Yohei Komatsu

This is the only match advertised for tomorrow’s #OhkaEmpire show in Korakuen Hall, which is sold out. The DDT website says there will be other matches on the card but we will not find out what they are until they happen. Given that the show is being run by Ken Ohka, Danshoku Dino and Super Sasadango Machine the card format might end up being similar to the old Muscle sub-brand. In fact, old Muscle shirts will be sold at the merchandise stand. So there may be a lot more than just wrestling matches to look forward to.

This is HARASHIMA’s chance at redemption against Hiroshi Tanahashi. Their match at “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2015” back in August created friction between the two when Tanahashi afterwards criticised HARASHIMA for not stepping up to his level and also expecting to be treated as his equal. Ken Ohka stepped in to help HARASHIMA defend his and also DDT’s honour by doing everything he could to set up this match.

1. HARASHIMA & Ken Ohka Vs Hiroshi Tanahashi & Yohei Komatsu

HARASHIMA Vs Hiroshi Tanahashi is kind of happening again thanks to #OhkaEmpire. Ken Ohka and friends have successfully negotiated with New Japan to set up a tag team match in Korakuen Hall next month. It will be HARASHIMA & Ohka against Tanahashi and the young lion Yohei Komatsu. Tanahashi was critical of HARASHIMA after their match at “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2015” in August. He also ridiculed the idea of treating DDT as if it was on the same level as New Japan. Since then HARASHIMA has requested a rematch to prove him wrong. Ohka was also offended by Tanahashi’s comments and promised to do something about it with HARASHIMA.

2. Power Of Dreams Vs Enjo-gun Vs OTK48 3 Way Tag Team Match: Shibata & Mitomi Masayuki defeated Chikara & Yumehito Imanari and Hayato Mashita & Kotaro Nasu by TKO when Shibata knocked out Imanari with a Mounted Punch Barrage (14:05).
3. The Real Tiger Mask Vs Mr. No!!: Shuichiro Katsumura defeated Mr. No with the Ninja Choke (7:43).
4. Ganpuro-gun Vs Tomodachi-gun: Hi69 & Madoka defeated Yukihiro Abe & Shinichiro Tominaga when Hi69 pinned Tominaga with the Stuka Splash (19:36).
5. Loser Leaves Army Mixed Handicap Hardcore Tag Match: Minoru Fujita & Bambi defeated Ken Ohka & Manami Kanda when Bambi pinned Ohka with the Standing Shining Wizard (18:40).

High stakes were placed in the main event of Ganbare☆Wrestling’s return to Shin-Kiba 1st RING. At the beginning of the show Ken Ohka and Minoru Fujita had to write out three names from their own units and place each of them into a separate envelope. The winner of the main event will pick one of the loser’s envelopes and the wrestler with his name in the envelope will be banished from Ganpuro. The rules of the match was No DQ for wrestlers against their own gender. So for example the men could attack each other with weapons but they had to wrestle the women normally and vice versa. The match got violent with both Ohka and Fujita getting busted open. Ohka had the match won when he hit the Spear Of Flame on Bambi but Madoka pulled the referee out of the ring during the pin. Fujita hit Ohka with a chair and then Tombstoned him onto a pile of chairs. Ohka was pulled up to his feet and Bambi hit a Shining Wizard to win the match for Tomodachi-gun. Fujita grabbed one of Ohka’s an envelope and pulled out the name Yukihiro Abe! Fujita mocked Abe for entering the Dramatic General Election because it turned out to all for nothing. Abe was furious at Ohka and stormed out of the ring.

Fujita then showed the names he wrote in his envelopes. They all said Ken Ohka. It was a trap, they were never going to follow the stipulation if they lost! Ohka was in tears screaming at his humiliation. He threatened to quit Ganpuro to save its honour but Shuichiro Katsumura convinced him not to. He offered to train Yumehito Imanari although he still requires a tuition fee of 10,000 yen. Ohka promised he will bring Abe back to Ganpuro.

Katsumura defeated the seemingly unstoppable Mr. No but it took a while to figure him out. Katsumura tried to apply the Ninja Choke to what he thought was No’s neck but it didn’t effect him. Katsumura studied No’s head and was able to find the spot where the Ninja Choke would work and proceeded to tap out his weird looking opponent.

Enjo-gun reminded everyone in Ganpuro that they are still a force to be reckoned with. Shibata beat Imanari into unconsciousness in the 3 Way Tag Match. Shibata afterwards said Ganpuro will burst into flames but Imanari stood up to him and said he is prepared to die for pro wrestling.

Isami Kodaka is the winner of the 2015 Dramatic General Election! His prize is one million yen and a KO-D Openweight Title shot in Osaka on 28th November. He called the result a great comeback after Union’s closure. He and several other Union wrestlers announced the formation of Pro Wrestling BASARA during the show.

Kota Ibushi finished in 2nd place and was given 300,000 yen and a KO-D Title shot on 25th October for his troubles. Ibushi thought it was a shame because he won last year’s election but he was still happy to get a lot of votes.

#OhkaEmpire will get to book the 17th November Korakuen Hall show for winning the Unit Election. Super Sasadango Machine put together a Powerpoint presentation thanking the fans for voting for them. He also announced the production of DDT’s next documentary film that will follow DDT’s story over the course of a year. Sasadango then wondered if the show could be promoted under the Muscle brand. This poses a problem because a Muscle show needs Muscle Sakai and the brand’s next show is supposed to take place in 2030 per Sakai’s request. Ken Ohka also had a plan that involved HARASHIMA. Ohka wants to book Hiroshi Tanahashi! He told HARASHIMA that he was mortified by Tanahashi’s attitude during “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2015” and he wants to team with HARASHIMA to fight Tanahashi! HARASHIMA was moved to tears as he thanked Ohka for the offer.

Everyone ranked from #1 to #22 will wrestle on the main card for the 25th October Korakuen show. Those ranked #23 to #26 will be competing in the dark match.

Booing 2015 is forced to disband because they finished in last place.

After ten years of indie sleaze, Union Pro Wrestling has today closed its doors. The sub-brand was DDT’s bratty little brother consisting of hardcore matches and crazy stipulations amongst its small roster over the years. But with Naomi Susan leaving her role as the brand’s manager it was agreed that today was time for Union to end.

ishikawa-kodaka-max

The main event was between two wrestlers who have been with Union Pro since it begun back in 2005. Isami Kodaka defended the Union MAX Title against Shuji Ishikawa to determine who was the better ace of the promotion. Both believed that this was not the end but the beginning for every Union wrestler. Union’s founder Poison Sawada was in attendance for the match and he handed a bouquet of flowers to both champion and challenger. Isami kicked out of Shuji’s Splash Mountain Bomb but Shuji later kicked out of Isami’s Diving Double Knee Drop. Shuji hit a barrage of Knee Lifts and also a Rainmaker Headbutt. He attempted a Cross Arm Splash Mountain but Isami escaped and hit Sliding Lariats and Sliding Kicks to take down Shuji. Another Splash Mountain was countered into a Hurricanrana for a nearfall. The two traded Elbow Strikes and Isami got the better of the exchange. He hit another Diving Double Knee Drop but Shuji kicked out at one! Shuji blocked the Isamuashi Zan once but Isami wore him down and tried the finisher again, this time nailing Shuji in the jaw. That was enough to put him away and end Union with Isami as the champion.

union-goodbye

Isami was handed the title belt by Sawada and the Union roster filled up the ring. He called Shuji his older brother and said Sawada was like their father. Sawada congratulated both of them for becoming great wrestlers. He said there was no shame in Union ending on the match they just had. Ishikawa said he will now become a freelancer but he is disappointed he couldn’t win the MAX Title. He said his sweetness was his weakness today and he will work on becoming stronger when he wrestles in other companies. Everybody thanked the fans for attending the show and asked to continue supporting them wherever they go. Susan said that from now on everybody will be walking down a new road.

thankyou-union

One by one each of the wrestlers said their goodbye. Ryu Gouma said he spent the last ten years as a rip off of someone else (Ryuma Go). Yusuke Kubo said he developed a deep love of wrestling during his time here. Daichi said he was grateful to be standing here even though he was only in Union for a short while. Mitomi Masayuki said Union was where he was born and it will always be his hometown. Tomoya Kawamura, who could not wrestle today due to injury, said he was the last rookie to debut in Union and he was happy to be part of it. Hiroshi Fukuda said from now on he wants to fight the strongest wrestlers in honour of Union. Seiya Morohashi’s message was interrupted by the fans chanting “USA!” at Fukuda but he was able to tell fans to remember the “Love Muscle”. Cherry also said she hopes the fans will remember her because she won’t forget them. SAGAT said he came to Union as part of an experiment and it he lived the best life because of it. FUMA thanked everyone for their support and also for their future support. Daichi Kazato thanked the fans over and over. Sawada said Union wrestlers will never die. Susan and Ishikawa both said Union was the best. Kodaka finished the roll call by promising to stop crying. Let’s all laugh instead. The show ended with the combined cries of “3, 2, 1, Thank You Union!”

isami-sawada

The Union MAX Title is now sealed, at least temporarily. Kodaka may bring the MAX Title back some day but he thinks a new championship should be made if a successor to Union appears.

kazato-fuma

Daichi Kazato had a chance to kill off the King Legion for his final Union match. The unit would be forced to dissolve if Kazato could beat its leader FUMA. He came close when he hit the Sister Abigail but FUMA recovered and hit the Jawbreaker kick for the three count. FUMA grabbed Kazato by the hair after the match and lifted him to his feet. He then offered a handshake which Kazato accepted. FUMA said he was disappointed not to be in the MAX Title match but was satisfied to go against another Union made wrestler. There was no mention about what the King Legion will get up to now.

ohka-ohka

The 3 Way Tag Match had Ken Ohka and Mio Shirai reunite for one last time. The retired Shirai was in Ohka’s corner and wore a Ganbare☆Wrestling shirt to support him and Shinichiro Tominaga. Ohka also got to be in the ring with his replacement model Kengo (Mashimo) Ohka one more time. The King Legion benefited from the match going out of control. Ken Ohka got rid of Kengo Ohka with the Spear Of Flame but he then accidentally collided with his partner Tominaga. MEN’S Teioh capitalised and pinned Tominaga with a Jackknife.

cherry-ftehug

Cherry was happy to defend the Fly To Everywhere Title against her “best pupil” Masako Takanashi. She pinned Takanashi with an over-rotated School Boy she calls the Union Lock. Cherry has not decided what to do with the championship now Union has closed. She will take her time making her decision over the belt’s future.

union-memorialtag

A bunch of old faces returned to Union for a special series of tag matches. Seiya Morohashi, Hiroshi Fukuda and Ryu Gouma paired into various combinations to go against various wrestlers from Union’s past. Ricky Fuji and DJ Nira came out wanting to rock and roll. Gouma told them it’s 2015 and nobody wants to hear the old kind of rock music. Morohashi and Fukuda defeated Fuji and Nira while Gouma yelled “Rock ‘n’ roll is dead!” They did not fare as well in the second match against Sanshiro Takagi & New Sanshiro Takagi. New Takagi gave Fukuda a Stunner and old Takagi pinned him with the Sit Down Himawari Bomb. Team #3 was New Beijing Pro Wrestling. Choun-Shiryu & Cao Zhang came out with a giant tonkachi hammer as well as the lovely Princess Makoto. She distracted the referee with her charms so Zhang could hit Gouma with the giant hammer for the win. The next team was supposed to be Yusuke Inokuma & Keisuke Masuda but it was announced that they injured themselves during their pre-match warm up. Taking their place was the violent team of Gaijin A & Gaijin A! They attacked Morohashi, Fukuda, Gouma and even the referee with sellotape until the lights dimmed. God came out and he began singing badly while Gaijin A & Gaijin A hung the other wrestlers over the rope with sellotape wrapped around their necks. The match ended in a no contest. When all the tape was cleared up out came the final team A.YAZAWA and Mame Endo with Rumi Kazama. Everybody danced to Swan Lake until YAZAWA pinned the entire Union team with a School Boy to end the match.

kubo-mitomi

The show opened with some of the unsung heroes from Union. Mitomi Masayuki was a big signing when he turned pro but a car crash, some bad behaviour on Twitter and another serious injury wrestling elsewhere kept him out of the ring for a significant amount of time. Ryota Nakatsu only debuted last year as part of the DNA brand. Yusuke Kubo previously wrestled under a mask as Goro Jr. and only unmasked back in February. Daichi was a part timer with only a few appearances in Union under his belt.

I think Naomi Susan might still be working for DDT behind the scenes. She mentioned her decision to quit as Union’s manager does not mean she is retired from the pro wrestling industry entirely. She has in the past helped DDT bring in foreign talent.

Bambi turned on Team Ganpuro when she got hold of a barbed wire baseball bat and swung at Ken Ohka instead of Minoru Fujita. Ohka was then put away with the Lanakila-X from Osamu Namiguchi followed by the Stuka Splash from Hi69. Fujita crawled on top of Ohka for the pin. After the match Fujita & Bambi challenged Ohka to find a female wrestler and face them in a Mixed Tag Match on 14th October. Furthermore Fujita added a stipulation that the losing team will be forced to banish one of their allies from Ganpuro. Hi69 also challenged Yukihiro Abe and Yumehito Imanari to a tag team match. Hi69’s partner will be Madoka.

Shuichiro Katsumura and Shibata got into a brawl after Match #3. Afterwards Mr. No appeared and Katsumura kicked it in the head. Mr. No shook it off. Katsumura challenged it to a match on 14th October.

It turned out the gorilla in the 3 Way Match was Kyoko Kimura. She appeared in the ring in her normal wrestling gear but was announced as “Height and weight absolutely unknown, Gorilla!” When she won the match Ohka approached her and thanked her. Kyoko explained who she was but Ohka misunderstood and thought she said her full name was Gorilla Kimura. Kimura slapped him and left the ring.
