6. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Yuki Ueno & Naomi Yoshimura (c) Vs Chihiro Hashimoto & Yuki Iino
7. KO-D Openweight Title: HARASHIMA (c) Vs Masato Tanaka

Even though he won the D-Ou Grand Prix and was undefeated throughout the tournament, Masato Tanaka will not consider himself the strongest wrestler in DDT until he beats HARASHIMA to win the KO-D Openweight Title. He realises that the circumstances around this weekend’s match is very different from the 30 minute draw they had back in December. HARASHIMA claims he fought to win that time but still had fun, perhaps too much of it. This time he wants to fight like the champion he is.

Yuki Iino is fired up to win the KO-D Tag Team Titles on his own. He doesn’t trust Chihiro Hashimoto and she doesn’t trust him. Hashimoto has since made comments calling Iino an idiot that has made him angry.

Naomichi Marufuji still does not remember ever meeting Kazuki Hirata or having drinks with him. Hirata handed over a pair of Hirata GO! glasses to jog his memory but Marufuji broke them instead.

Three Right To Challenge Gauntlets are up for grabs in the Battle Royal. The match will end when all three prizes are claimed. However they don’t seem to be the only Gauntlets around this time.

3. FUMA & Takato Nakano Vs Yusuke Kubo & Fuminori Abe
4. Isami Kodaka Vs Ryota Nakatsu

The evening show looks a bit random other than the main event. That match is between the two wrestlers who failed to win the Union MAX Title from Masahiro Takanashi. If the match set up is good enough for Kota Ibushi and Jay White then it’s good enough for Isami Kodaka and Ryota Nakatsu.

MAO will face both HARASHIMA and Tanaka in a 3 Way Tag no matter who the KO-D Champion is after this weekend. Tanaka is bringing in his old FMW buddy Tetsuhiro Kuroda to team with him.

The surprise opponent for Cherry is Asuka! The original plan was to reveal her on the day of the show but Ganbare☆Wrestling pushed ahead to announce her due to fans not wanting to wait that long.

Daisuke Kiso is making the main event a Secret Captain’s Fall Elimination match. The match will end when a team captain is eliminated. The twist is no one knows who the captains are until the elimination happens.

Kiso only found out recently that HARUKAZE does not own a judo jacket. She might have to borrow one from Gota Ihashi.

Moeka Haruhi had to be renamed Moehiko Harumisawa after a 3 Way Match gone wrong yesterday. More on that below.

6. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Yuki Ueno & Naomi Yoshimura (c) Vs Chihiro Hashimoto & Yuki Iino
7. KO-D Openweight Title: HARASHIMA (c) Vs Masato Tanaka

When Naomichi Marufuji joined DISASTER BOX last week, he was happy to meet the entire unit for the first time. The thing is according to Kazuki Hirata they have met before. They even spent a night drinking together. Marufuji doesn’t remember that. Even worse, he doesn’t remember Hirata’s name! So Toru Owashi has organised a match between the two. He knows Marufuji has wrestled the likes of Stalker Ichikawa so this match shouldn’t be an uncomfortable experience for him. It’s not about who wins or loses. It will be a chance for Hirata to leave an impression on Marufuji. Hirata has promised to do his best so Marufuji will never forget his name ever again!

An infomercial match for hair products has been added to the show. The wrestlers involved will all have their hair done up by a professional hairdresser. Owashi is upset over this because he’s had his hairstyle for nearly 20 years and doesn’t want to change it. Keigo Nakamura was brought out to show off his new hairstyle but Owashi figured out it was a wig and he pulled it off.

DDT “INTO THE FIGHT 2020”, 23/02/2020
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. DDT UNIVERSAL Title: Konosuke Takeshita Vs Chris Brookes
2. KO-D Openweight Title: HARASHIMA (c) Vs MAO

MAO will face the winner of HARASHIMA versus Masato Tanaka for the KO-D Openweight Title. His Pokotan stunt last week got one over on both wrestlers so MAO should be prepared to face either.

It’s been decided that Konosuke Takeshita and Chris Brookes will be the two wrestlers fighting to become the first ever DDT UNIVERSAL Champion. Takeshita wants to be the first champion so he can bring DDT abroad and show everyone overseas what an exciting hotspot the promotion is. He’s happy to face Brookes again because he thinks they are the most interesting opponents for each other. Brookes thinks he is the better choice to promote DDT abroad but admits that he brings out his best against Takeshita. He has not achieved any of the goals he has set for his tours so far. He didn’t beat Takeshita for the KO-D Title, he didn’t win the KO-D Tag Team Titles with Takanashi and he didn’t win the D-Ou Grand Prix. It’s very important for him to become the first UNIVERSAL Champion when he begins his year long stay in Japan. What both wrestlers agree on is the title provides a blank slate and they will set the standard for its matches. They can provide something that can attract worldwide attention while being different from the KO-D Title and the DDT Extreme Title.

This will be the first wrestling match for The Great Nita since August 2017.

Daisuke Kiso wanted the main event to definitively decided which team is better so he made it an Elimination Tag Match.

The 2 Count match was made to even the playing field between Moeka Haruhi and the less experienced Banny Oikawa.

Both HARUKAZE and Yuu will be wrestling in judo jackets because HARUKAZE wants the match to be entirely about grappling and groundwork.

The Count-Up Fall Match adds up the pinfall counts a wrestler makes. The first to reach their total count up to a predetermined number wins. Cherry’s opponent will be revealed on the day of the show. The mystery wrestler is hinted to be very beautiful and will also be a regular for Ganbare☆Wrestling in 2020.

Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie, Shota, Shuhei Washida and Shin Suzuki were all meant to be on the show but now they will not be there. Luckily a bunch of “joshi” replacements were quickly found.

He does comedy so much that he can’t tell if he has some legitimate wrestling ability anymore. To find out if Sasadango actually has skill in the ring he will face Aoki in a singles match. If he hits the Lehmann Shock three times in a row again then nobody can question the result.

Hikari Noa convinced Maki Itoh to give her an International Princess Title shot. She wants to win the title and defend it against Natsumi Maki when she returns from injury. Maybe it’s out of jealousy or maybe it is out of respect but Itoh accepted the challenge and wants it at the big 4th January show at Korakuen Hall.

ALL OUT’s position in DDT has been weakened now that Konosuke Takeshita is no longer the KO-D Openweight Champion. An attempt from Yuki Iino to win the belt failed and Shunma Katsumata hasn’t been able to win the KO-D Tag Team Titles whenever he had the chance to. All they have to fight for at the moment is the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles.

3. Danshoku Dieno & Super Sasadango Machine defeated Shinya Aoki & Keigo Nakamura when Sasadango pinned Aoki with the Vertical Drop Lehmann Shock (10:45).
4. Saki Akai “Okibariyasu” 7 Match Series – 1st Match: Tsukasa Fujimoto defeated Saki Akai with the Japanese Ocean Cyclone Suplex (9:32).
5. After Ultimate Party 2019 Special Tag Match: Konosuke Takeshita & Jiro Kuroshio defeated Antonio Honda & Miyu Yamashita when Kuroshio pinned Honda with the Moonsault Press (14:07).
6. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao (c) defeated Masahiro Takanashi & Chris Brookes when Takao pinned Brrokes with the Official Endless Waltz (13:43).
*V9 for DAMNATION.
7. KO-D Openweight Title: HARASHIMA (c) defeated Yuki Iino with the Somato (16:51).
*V1 for HARASHIMA.

HARASHIMA’s first defence for his latest KO-D Openweight Title got off to a good start with a victory over Yuki Iino. The challenger used the Bubba Bomb and the Haka Elbow but couldn’t put HARASHIMA away. He went for the Spear but HARASHIMA blocked it with a Standing Somato. When both got back up they got into a Elbow Smash battle that ended with Iino throwing a Headbutt. However HARASHIMA hit back with a Spin Kick to the face that knocked Iino down. HARASHIMA used a Buzzsaw Kick to set up the match ending Somato. The champion called Iino a great opponent he wants to face again and again. He called Iino a TV star but HARASHIMA also appeared on a TV drama recently so he thinks that cancelled out Iino’s advantage. HARASHIMA won’t have any more title defences for the rest of the year. His next DDT Extreme Title defence will be on 12th January and his next KO-D Title defence is on 26th January. For now HARASHIMA will concentrate on winning the D-Ou Grand Prix.

Today was the most under threat DAMNATION have been towards losing the KO-D Tag Team Titles. As the match progressed problems grew between Daisuke Sasaki and Soma Takao. Thanks to the craftiness of Masahiro Takanashi, he would make Sasaki bump into Takao over and over until Takao had enough and he turned on Sasaki! After smashing Sasaki with an Elbow Strike, Takao left the ring in anger. Sasaki had to fight his opponents mostly on his own but Tetsuya Endo did what he could from ringside to prevent Sasaki from losing. Endo gave a chair to Sasaki which caused Takao to come back and grab it off him. However Takao then hit Takanashi with the chair and all was good again with DAMNATION! The match became 2 Vs 2 again. Sasaki pulled Takanashi out of the ring while Takao blocked the Praying Mantic Bomb from Chris Brookes. From there Takao used the Official Endless Waltz to cradle Brookes into pins until he finally got a three count. Backstage Takao says he has not forgiven Sasaki yet but Sasaki doesn’t care. Today proved that they can win matches even if their friendship is broken. They are one more title defence away from taking their team to the next level. But first they have to worry about the D-Ou GP where they just happen to be in the same block. Brookes told Takanashi not to worry about the loss because CDK are only a new team. They will get another shot at the titles some day.

The team of Antonio Honda & Miyu Yamashita took on a new challenge when they faced Konosuke Takeshita & Jiro Kuroshio. Honda complained that Kuroshio was wearing a nice jacket while he wrestled. Yamashita faked an injury along with Honda after a leapfrog spot but took the match seriously when she faced off with Takeshita. She gave Takeshita a German Suplex but he immediately fired back with a Lariat. Honda stripped Kuroshio of his jacket but struggled to put it on himself. When he wound up his hands for the Bionic Elbow they got entangled by the jacket. That gave Kuroshio the chance to knock him down and pin him with the Moonsault Press. Takeshita told Kuroshio he wants to wrestle him again no matter if it is in DDT, America or even the health center were they hung out at. Kuroshio joked that it will probably be at the health center. They hugged and vowed to reunite in the future.

Saki Akai’s first match in her “Okibariyasu” Series ended in a loss to Tsukasa Fujimoto. But she can be happy to know she put up a good fight. Akai couldn’t hit the Quetzalcoatl and it took Fujimoto two attempts to hit the Japanese Ocean Cyclone Suplex. Fujimoto intentionally used the move because Akai said in an interview that she wanted to wrestle Manami Toyota. When you wrestle Fujimoto, you also wrestle Toyota in spirit. Akai will take what she has learned and use them along with her emotions for the next match. Opponent #2 in her series will be Sakura Hirota and that match will be on 28th December.

The rookie Keigo Nakamura took the microphone before his match and told everyone his dream is to win a championship. He figured out the fastest way to do this is to go for the KO-D Tag Team Titles with Shinya Aoki because of Aoki’s KO power. He asked Aoki if he wanted to do that but Aoki’s answer was “Who are you?” Their match began and Danshoku Dieno got his hands on Nakamura while Aoki fought with Super Sasadango Machine. Sasadango escaped from Aoki’s Sleeper Hold by slipping out of his mask. Dieno then gave Aoki the Lip Lock and the Danshoku Driver to set up something even more expected. Sasadango hit the three Lehmann Shocks and pinned Aoki! Sadadango reappeared later in the show and asked for a singles match with Aoki on 28/12 to figure out if this was a fluke or if he reall does have potential to be a serious pro wrestler.

The dream has come true for Michiaki Nakano. He has finally won the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title! If only for a minute. He didn’t win the Battle Royal despite bribing the other wrestlers thousands and thousands of yen to help him beat up Kazuki Hirata. However Hirata beat the odds and eliminated every one of his opponents to win the match. Things looked to be peaceful after the match until Nakano gave Hirata the Rainmaker and went for the pin. Hirata kicked out at one. Makoto Oishi then hit Hirata with the title belt and Nakano jumped onto Hirata before Oishi could for the title change. Nakano celebrated until Oishi rolled him up for the three count and ran off with the belt.

Now that Nobuhiro Shimatani has gone freelance, somebody has to carry around the DAMNATION signboard. Endo ended up doing it today. Somehow the sign is now upside down. It’s not all bad. He and Mad Paulie won the 4 Way Tag.

Kazusada Higuchi will return to the ring on 28th December. He has been out of action since September.

Hirata’s 10th Anniversary show will take place on 14th March, 2020.

7. KO-D Openweight Title: HARASHIMA (c) Vs Yuki Iino

Yuki Iino won last weekend’s Gauntlet match to get the KO-D Openweight Title shot.

Jiro Kuroshio’s dad requested that Jiro and Konosuke Takeshita team together for Jiro’s final match in DDT. Takeshita agreed to it as long as Antonio Honda could be one of their opponents. Honda accepted the offer because he already has a tag team with Miyu Yamashita.

Honda was supposed to be in Match #3 but he pulled out to do the Kuroshio match. Danshoku Dieno takes his place as Super Sasadango Machine’s tag partner.

There is a problem with the Battle Royal. The Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title was supposed to be defended in it for the sake of Souken’s Michiaki Nakano. However Dieno is now the champion and he is booked on the match afterwards. So what does Nakano have to fight for?

6a. Asuka defeated Mizuki Watase with the Moonsault Press (3:58).
6b. Yuki Ueno defeated Asuka with a Frankensteiner (1:55).
6c. Yuki Ueno defeated Shunma Katsumata with a Frankensteiner (6:43).
6d. Yuki Iino defeated Yuki Ueno with the Spear (3:38).
6e. Yuki Iino defeated Naomi Yoshimura with the Spear (10:37).

The show began with each participant in the main event gauntlet picking out balls to determine their order of entry. Mizuki Watase drew #1 but said if he can beat everyone then he can beat HARASHIMA. Well, he fell at the first hurdle to Asuka. Yuki Ueno was the next entrant and he eliminated Asuka with a Headscissors style Hurricanrana. He then used the Frankensteiner again to beat Shunma Katsumata. His run came to an end when Yuki Iino entered the fray. Iino avoided getting rolled up and won with the Spear. That left Naomi Yoshimura as the last entrant. Iino blocked the Shonenba, gave Yoshimura the Bubba Bomb then had to hit two Spears to win the match.

HARASHIMA came out and congratulated Iino for winning. They will now face each other for the KO-D Openweight Title on 24th November at Korakuen Hall. HARASHIMA told him he won’t lose the title easily because he worked so hard to win it in Sumo Hall. Iino thanked everyone for supporting him. He’s been wrestling for three years now but missed periods because of injury and acting work. He is taking a chance on himself so he will hit HARASHIMA with 120% of his power!

Keisuke Ishii said he was honored to defend the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title against Makoto Oishi. His goal as the champion is to beat his previous reign of 6 successful defences. Oishi lost but his message to everyone today is old warriors don’t die, they just leave. But he hasn’t given up yet. The eruption of Volcano Oishi has yet to happen!

Late in Match #4, the legal wrestlers HARASHIMA and Masahiro Takanashi fought around ringside. DJ Nira snuck down to the ring and struck them with his umbrella, resulting in the double countout. Nira got on the microphone and asked how did he get a shot at the DDT Extreme Title? Was it because he tried to steal it? He was about to leave when Hisaya Imabayashi asked about the stipulation for the title match on 16th November. Nira pointed to the screen and a message came up saying it’s going to be a 10 Vs 1 Captain’s Fall Handicap Match! Imabayashi wanted more information like who will be fighting on his own and who is on the team of 10 wrestlers? Nira just told him to use his imagination then left. HARASHIMA assured Imabayashi that he is fine with the rule.

Nobuhiro Shimatani’s final match under DDT contract could not have gone any worse. He tapped out to Daisuke Sasaki in under 30 seconds. They agreed to a rematch and this time around Shimatani convinced Soma Takao, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie to help him try and beat Sasaki! However Shimatani’s sign attacks kept missing Sasaki and hitting the others so often that they turned back on him. Shimatani tried fighting against the 4 on 1 odds but tapped out to Sasaki again. Sasaki said he doesn’t know why Shimatani is quitting DDT and he doesn’t care. But he’ll leave it up to Shimatani if he wants to quit DAMNATION too. Shimatani told the audience that from tomorrow they will see him begin to grow up in the ring. One more thing. He will stay in DAMNATION!

A video message was sent to Konosuke Takeshita after the 3 Way Match. It was from Jiro Kuroshio’s dad! He wants Takeshita to team with “Ikemen” for his final DDT match on 24/11. Takeshita accepted the request and asked for Antonio Honda to included. Honda already has a match booked on the 24th but he will do it to honour Kuroshio. He already has a tag partner too. It’s Miyu Yamashita!

It’s not often that Kazuki Hirata gets to bully around an underdog. With Keigo Nakamura in the ring, Hirata had the opportunity to remind everyone his extended moveset is heavily Dragon Gate influenced. He hit the Doi 555, the Bakatare Sliding Kick and then applied the Sol Naciente on the rookie to get his team the win. Hiroshi Yamato attacked Hirata after the match so he could win the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. He went for the pin but Danshoku Dieno stunned him with the Lip Lock then pinned Hirata to take the title.

Ultimate Hangover, Omega Comments, New Title Matches, MMA Shrek

November 4, 2019

A couple days rest then everyone gets back on the grind. But first, Kenny Omega had a lot to say following his return appearance to DDT. He was happy with yesterday’s match and would like to wrestle in DDT again, preferably in mixed tag matches if DDT can provide the teams for him. He also has some opinions on two wrestlers in particular: Konosuke Takeshita and Tetsuya Endo. He said Takeshita has grown big and Endo has a bodybuilder physique but he couldn’t sense any heart from their performances. They wrestle the same as they did five years ago when Omega left DDT. How can they compare to the elite wrestlers from around the world that Omega faces regularly? How can they ever win something as great as an IWGP or G1 victory? How well do they do outside of Tokyo? Omega kind of feels like a father disappointed in his children. Between today’s comments and his tense behavior towards HARASHIMA yesterday it seems like Kenny is kicking a hornet’s nest in his old stomping grounds.

6. Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title: Keisuke Ishii (c) Vs Makoto Oishi

One decade ago Makoto Oishi held the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title. He still feels a link with the belt but was never able to challenge for it again until now. He would never forgive himself if he does not take this chance.

With no clear contender in sight for HARASHIMA, his first KO-D Openweight Title defence will be against the winner of a 6 person Gauntlet match. HARASHIMA chose the six wrestlers and wanted to put a focus on the younger generation.

Nobuhiro Shimatani will be ending his contract with DDT on 8th November. He will continue wrestling in DDT but will do so as a freelancer from now on. To mark the end of his contract, Shimatani will be facing against the other members of DAMNATION in a 4 Vs 1 match. Shimatani was unhappy to take the loss at “ULTIMATE PARTY 2019!” and made the decision to take his career in a new direction. That may mean he will leave DAMNATION too.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO JOSHI PRO ’20”, 04/01/2020
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Princess Of Princess Title: Yuka Sakazaki (c) Vs Miyu Yamashita

The first 2020 match in the DDT family has been announced and it is a big one. Yuka Sakazaki failed to defend the Princess Of Princess Title during her first reign. She is now at risk of a repeat because her first challenger this time around is Miyu Yamashita! Sakazaki doesn’t want Yamashita for her first defence but she eventually agreed to it. On the bright side at lease she is guaranteed to hold the belt for two months. Just like last time… Oh. Ohhhhhh that’s not good.
