2. Lil’ Kraken & Leo Isaka defeated Isami Kodaka & Ryuichi Sekine when Isaka pinned Kodaka with an Inside Cradle (10:37).

*V1 for Sento Minzoku.
6. Union MAX Title: FUMA defeated Takumi Tsukamoto (c) with the Jumping Cross Armbreaker (16:21).
*Takumi Tsukamoto fails in V1. FUMA becomes the 20th Union MAX Champion!

For the first time in three years BASARA held their all you can drink “~UTAGE~” show again in Shin-Kiba 1st RING. In the main event FUMA defeated Takumi Tsukamoto to become a three time Union MAX Champion! By beating Tsukamoto today and also Ryota Nakatsu recently, FUMA now thinks he has gotten revenge for all of his biggest failings in the last few years in his bid to become champion again. There are more wrestlers out there he wants to get revenge on. The first one on his mind is a certain wrestler from Osaka who he has never beaten. His name is Eisa8 and FUMA fought him often under a mask in Okinawa Pro. He is going to see what his own schedule is like next month before he challenges Eisa8 to a title match. BASARA will be in Osaka on 23rd September and FUMA also wants the promotion to run a show in Gunma on 14th October.

Gouma Ryu bribed the referee with money to give him the advantage against Nakatsu in the Jacket Match. It caused the ref to count slowly after Nakatsu knocked out Ryu. The ref was given more money by Ryu on the canvas to stop the 10 count entirely. The ref also fast counted Nakatsu and ignored Ryu using his law book as a weapon. When Nakatsu took the book from him and threatened to hit him back, the ref was bribed into disqualifying Nakatsu entirely.

A big upset in early in the show saw Lil’ Kraken & Leo Isaka win as a tag team for the first time against Sento Minzoku. Isaka ended up dodging Isami Kodaka’s finisher and used an Inside Cradle to pin him for the three count. With this result Kraken suggested they challenge Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita for the IRON FIST Tag Titles on 18th September. Fujita later accepted the challenge. He & Shimomura just beat Speed Of Sounds today so what chance do Kraken & Isaka have?

Daichi Kazato announced that Asian Kung Fu Revolution will be producing the 17th September show.

BASARA “BASARA 219 ~KOO~” Results

May 23, 2023

BASARA “BASARA 219 ~KOO~”, 23/05/2023
Shin-Kiba 1st RING
??? Fans – Withheld

1. FUMA, Takumi Tsukamoto & Ryota Nakatsu defeated Ryuichi Sekine, Minoru Fujita & Yasu Urano when Tsukamoto pinned Sekine with the Schmidt-Style Backbreaker (12:07).
2. 3 Way Match: Tatsuhiko Yoshino defeated Gouma Ryu and Takato Nakano when Yoshino pinned Ryu with a Cradle (6:31).
3. Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023 – Round 1 A Block: SAGAT defeated Lil’ Kraken with the Goregrind (11:08).
4. Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023 – Round 1 A Block: Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi Vs Leo Isaka ended in a Double Countout (9:00).
5. Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023 – Round 1 A Block: Daiki Shimomura defeated Daichi Kazato with a Hurricanrana (13:37).
6. Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023 – Round 1 A Block: Isami Kodaka defeated Shiori Asahi with a Cross Armbar (16:14).

Three wrestlers have advanced past the opening round so far in this year’s Chouten ~Itadaki~. The main event saw Isami Kodaka submit Shiori Asahi in their first singles match against each other in 8 years. Kodaka said he has three more rounds to get past and he’s sure the Union MAX Title will be waiting for him at the finish line. He meets Daiki Shimomura in Round 2 after Shimomura beat Daichi Kazato. Kodaka and Shimomura fought each other for the MAX Title last September.

The other half of the A Block has turned into an easy path for SAGAT. He advanced to the 2nd Round by beating Lil’ Kraken and then discovered at the end of the show he was getting a bye into the semi-final because Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi Vs Leo Isaka ended in a Double Countout! Both Hiroshi and Isaka were determined to keep each other outside the ring and it blew up in both of their faces because the Double Countout eliminates both of them. So now SAGAT only has to beat the winner of Kodaka versus Shimomura to reach the grand final.

Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023

May 15, 2023

The 8th annual Chouten ~Itadaki~ tournament is going to be the main focus for BASARA during the summer. This year uses the familiar format of a 16-man single eliminaion bracket. Every match will have a 30 minute time limit except for the final, which has no time limit. A draw of any kind will eliminate both wrestlers from the tournament. An odd bit of scheduling this year is half of the 2nd Round will take place on the same day the 2nd Half of Round 1 is completed. The complete 2nd Round schedule has not been finalized yet for this reason. It will have to be sorted out depending on which wrestlers are available to wrestle on 3rd June and which are available for 17th June. This year’s contestants are:

Isami Kodaka (8th Appearance, 2019 Winner)
Takumi Tsukamoto (8th Appearance)
FUMA (8th Appearance)

And Now I’m Almost Caught Up

April 20, 2023

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “CLIMB OVER ’23”, 22/04/2023
Osaka Edion Arena #2

1. Shoko Nakajima, Haruna Neko & Kaya Toribami Vs Mahiro Kiryu, Wakana Uehara & Toga
2. 3 Way Match: Hyper Misao Vs Raku Vs HIMAWARI
3. Vert Vixen Vs Moka Miyamoto
4. Yuki Kamifuku, Yuki Aino & Yuki Arai Vs Maki Itoh, Hikari Noa & Shino Suzuki
5. Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe Vs Suzume & Arisu Endo
6. Princess Tag Team Titles: Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki (c) Vs Max The Impaler & Pom Harajuku

A contract signing was held for the Princess Tag Team Titles a few days ago. The Magical Sugar Rabbits and Pom Harajuku arrived to the building on time but Max The Impaler was nowhere to be seen. The three of them signed the contract anyway and gave comments about the upcoming match. Yuka Sakazaki said if Max does not show up for the title match then Harajuku will be too weak to wrestle by herself. Mizuki thinks the match will have to go ahead as a 2-On-1 Handicap match, which she thinks is convenient for her & Sakazaki. Harajuku was certain that Max would eventually show up and she was proven right. Max burst into the room, took a bite out of the contract, threw the remains at MagiRabi and then grabbed Harajuku and carried her out of the room. Sayuri Namba picked up the remains of the contract and declared it to be an official signature from Max so the title match will go ahead.

The potential next challengers could be coming out of the Daydream Vs Daisy Monkey match.

The trio known as Yuki Yuki Yuki are back teaming together to wrestle in front of a crowd for the first time. I don’t think they figured out who the team captain is yet.

Nao Kakuta is not on the show due to a schedule conflict. Also the teenagers Haru Kazashiro and Runa Okubo were not booked in order to avoid the burden of having to wrestle in Osaka and Tokyo on back to back days.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “WRESTLE UNIVERSE MEMBERS ONLY SHOW – PURE TOKYO JOSHI PRO WRESTLING 8”, 23/04/2023

6. Costume Change Match: Mizuki, Yuki Kamifuku & Pom Harajuku Vs Suzume, Mahiro Kiryu & Haruna Neko

Everybody in the main event will be wrestling in somebody else’s costume.

Max The Impaler and Vert Vixen get to be the first foreign wrestlers to participate in Tokyo Joshi Pro’s fan club shows. Unless you count all of those last minute replacement gimmicks that always show up when somebody else gets unusually sick…

Banana Senga’s schedule is preventing him from appearing in BASARA again until May so Takumi Tsukamoto has to keep himself busy until then. Tsukamoto leads Yasu Urano & Fuminori Abe to take on Sparky in an Elimination Tag Match.

A mystery opponent awaits for FUMA.

Lil’ Kraken & Leo Isaka are still teaming together like they promised after they failed to win the IRON FIST Tag Titles.

Suzume thought it was impossible she would ever be a pro wrestler but Rika Tatsumi inspired her to do it. Now Suzume thinks it is impossible to beat Tatsumi and become the International Princess Champion. She’s done the impossible with the former so maybe she can do it again with the latter!

Yuki Arai fought against and lost to Maki Itoh in her debut match two years ago. They will now be tag partners for Arai’s 2nd Anniversary match. Their opponents are Sakazaki & Shoko Nakajima doing a Miraclians reunion.

BASARA “BASARA 218 ~TAKAGARI 17~”, 13/05/2023
Takashimadaira Ward Community Center

1. Union MAX Title: Banana Senga (c) Vs Takumi Tsukamoto

When Senga is ready to return to BASARA he will put the Union MAX Title on the line against Tsukamoto. Senga found out he gets paid more money as a champion so he wants to earn enough money to get a hair transplant in Turkey (because it’s cheaper there than in Japan). Tsukamoto wants to be the MAX Champion again so he can try to break his tied record for the most title defences.
