The bracket is out for King Of DDT 2022 and there are some tasty matchups in the first round. The big match is Tetsuya Endo Vs Masahiro Takanashi because it pits the KO-D Openweight Champion against the new DDT Universal Champion! That’s not the only champion versus champion match because Yuki Iino is set to face MAO in a battle between the DDT Extreme Title and KO-D Tag Team Titles. Elsewhere Yukio Naya and Kazusada Higuchi are against each other in a heavyweight clash, Jun Akiyama and Yukio Sakaguchi have a first time singles match with each other, former DAMNATION allies collide when Yuji Hino faces Daisuke Sasaki, newcomer KANON has made Yuki Ueno his target in the tournament, Chris Brookes will already be back from injury to take on Naomi Yoshimura and Hideki Okatani maybe has the toughest opponent of the lot in the form of HARASHIMA.

I think the plan to do these posts once a month works best. The only part I’m missing now are the DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro wrestlers getting bookings in other companies around Japan. Stuff like Kazusada Higuchi in NOAH and Suzume in Gatoh Move both happening last weekend for example. I figure the international skew of this blog means I’m better off doing DDT Around The World posts instead of DDT Around Japan. Not enough time in the day for me to dig up where some of the Ganbare☆Pro roster goes to with their outside bookings.
Anyway the AEW excursions for Yuka Sakazaki and Maki Itoh have ended. Both have since tweeted about arriving back in Japan safe and sound. Although Itoh had trouble after losing her phone and credit card. Miyu Yamashita is still in America this week to finish off her schedule. Konosuke Takeshita is gaining more fans every week and has also fallen in love with Cinnabon food, joining in the current craze of wrestlers tweeting about their eating habits while working overseas.

Sakazaki’s position in AEW during May was taking part in a series of tag matches against Nyla Rose & Emi Sakura on the Dark portions of the tapings. In their first meeting, Sakazaki teamed with Anna Jay and got the win by pinning Sakura. However Rose took the loss badly and attacked Sakazaki after the bell.

Takeshita’s visit to Deadlock Pro Wrestling led to an exciting match against the Australian wrestler Adam Brooks. There was one moment in particular when he fired up the crowd and the commentary team by yelling “Let’s fucking go!” He is also taking the time to sharpen his Jumping Knee Strike, using it as a big counter to a Springboard move from Brookes before putting him away with the Zahi.

There was a little bit of a DDT/TJPW takeover on this taping. Sakazaki’s rivalry with Rose & Sakura continued. Skye Blue was her tag partner this time. Unfortunately Blue’s big moment of hitting a Hurricanrana to Rose was ruined when Rose held on, lifted her up and dropped her down with the Beast Bomb to win the match.

Onto Dynamite itself where Takeshita was given his biggest spotlight in AEW so far. He faced Hangman Adam Page, the AEW World Champion in a non-title bout while CM Punk watched on over at the commentary booth. Takeshita lost the match when Page used Punk’s Go 2 Sleep to send his upcoming challenger a message but Takeshita’s performance that night had a lot of people talking highly of him across the board.
Then there was the surprise appearance of Maki Itoh in the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament as the mystery Joker entrant. Everyone was happy to see her, especially Britt Baker who thought Itoh would just lay down for her. Instead Itoh gave her a fight but the result still ended in Baker’s favour. The possibility of Itoh showing up in AEW was tipped off when TJPW tweeted about her having to miss an autograph session a few days earlier (it is not always 100% the reason these things happen but whenever I get to tweet about it there may as well be a massive “HINT HINT” sign pointing at it).

Hey I was here for this Dynamite show! The opening match of AEW’s week long celebration for their three years in existence was Takeshita beating Ryan Nemeth. Takeshita’s not fully there with the crowd yet. They didn’t recognise his entrance song but once his name showed up on the screen he got a big response. Still with all the praise going his way lately his future in the company can be really bright. It all depends on what plans Tony Khan already has in place. If you’re paying attention you’ll see this past week has shown he often sticks with his plans. But we all know how much of a massive wrestling fan he is. He must have the Masato Tanaka in ECW playbook lying around somewhere next to his Fulham summer transfer plans.
AEW “SPECIAL DARK”, 27/05/2022 (Aired 28/05/2022) Michelob ULTRA Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
1. Riho, Yuka Sakazaki & Skye Blue defeated Nyla Rose, Diamanté & Emi Sakura (w/ Vickie Guerrero) when Riho pinned Diamanté with the Somato (6:11).
A few days later at the Rampage taping Sakazaki finished off her current run with AEW. She also ended her series against Rose & Sakura with a win thanks to Riho pinning Diamanté. The women’s tag matches on Dark that feature Sakura in them have often been a highlight of the Youtube shows so I recommend watching them.

While AEW was busy partying in Las Vegas all weekend, Yamashita & Itoh blew the roof off of the Roseland Theater with their matches in Prestige Wrestling. Yamashita defeated Masha Slamovich in a bout where the two smashed each other to bits. Then Itoh got something of an upset victory over Mia Yim in the main event to defend the International Princess Title.

1. Miyu Yamashita defeated Maki Itoh with the Skull Kick (15:47).
The next night Itoh was headlining the show again and this time Yamashita was across the ring from her. It was a non-title match and Yamashita increased her winning record against her friend with the Skull Kick. At first it looked like the move may have been deflected off of Itoh’s big head but the damage was there. Itoh fell like a tree and got pinned.

In a career full of miracles another came to light when Masahiro Takanashi became the new DDT Universal Champion! Using a mixture of tricks, skill and heart Takanashi defeated MAO in the main event. He tricked MAO into Backsliding Yukinori Matsui for a fake pin then did his own Cradle for a nearfall. MAO had his own plans and used the Ultima Weapon and Michinoku Driver II both for two counts. Takanashi had another surprise by using La Mistica and then scrambling into position to hit the Takatonic to win the title.
After the match Takanashi was joined in the ring by Chris Brookes, HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura. The four of them will be teaming together at “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2022” for a DDT 8-Man Tag Match. HARASHIMA told them to show everyone the best of DDT. All Takanashi said to the fans was “Thank you!” to close out the show. But he said more backstage. It’s been many years since he held a singles title in DDT and even then he lost so many title matches in his career. Today feels like he won his first championship because it’s been so long. He wants to defend his title against the DNA generation of wrestlers no matter where they are now. That means fighting the likes of Yoshimura and even giving MAO a reamtch. MAO said he has no regrets over his title reign because he lost it to Takanashi. Anyone else beating him would have been a disappointment. He will be on the other team at “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2022” so he will continue to proudly be at the forefront of DDT.
The show was filled with DDT wrestlers preparing for “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2022”. Over the last couple of weeks Kazusada Higuchi has refused to be on the same page as Tetsuya Endo & Jun Akiyama for their inter-promotional match against NOAH, believing he can do it by himself. Today the three were given a chance to team up and test the waters against HARASHIMA, Yoshimura & Soma Takao. Higuchi kept his distance from his partners and had to be inadvertently tagged out to get the others involved in the match. When he got back in he continued fighting by himself so Endo & Akiyama had to come to the rescue. They cut off HARASHIMA & Yoshimura so Higuchi could beat Takao.
After the match Akiyama confronted Higuchi and asked him for a handshake to show he can trust him. Higuchi refused until Yukio Sakaguchi spoke to him. After a few words from someone he respects, Higuchi finally agreed and shook the hands of both Akiyama and Endo. Akiyama then thanked Sakaguchi while Endo said they are ready to beat NOAH at Saitama Super Arena on 12th June. Each member of a team has their target. Akiyama wants Atsushi Kotoge to charge him, Endo wants Naomichi Marufuji in perfect condition and Higuchi wants to avenge his recent time limit draw against Yoshiki Inamura.
The Hollywood spotlight was shining over the DDT Extreme Title because it was defended under Sexy Movie Star Rules. Director MacToba (Thanomsak Toba) ordered Yuki Iino and AKIRA to reinact famous movie scenes and the match could not end until he got his perfect shots. While they wrestled, MacToba ordered them to do scenes from Titanic, ET, The Exorcist, Rocky and Snow White. The Snow White scene in particular required AKIRA to kiss Iino. He reluctantly did so before pinning Iino with the Musasabi Press. However MacToba felt the kiss was not deep enough and ordered a reshoot. AKIRA gave Iino a deeper kiss but this time Iino rolled him up for the three count and is was good enough to wrap up production. Hisaya Imabayashi apologised to AKIRA for not fully understanding the match rules when he made the decision to approve it. AKIRA didn’t mind because he found it entertaining.
DAMNATION T.A have been going after NOAH in their own scuzzy way. They won their match at the NOAH show during the weekend and Daisuke Sasaki shocked Kenoh with a stun gun afterwards! Sasaki had the same stun gun with him today but thankfully he didn’t use it in the match against The 37KAMIINA. Still Sasaki, MJ Paul & KANON were victorious. Sasaki used his win to call out Kenoh, expecting him to show up today. Since he didn’t, Sasaki thinks Kenoh is scared and crying at home. Meanwhile KANON has set his sights on Yuki Ueno. He thinks he will surely beat him to death the next time they fight. Ueno said his focus is on “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2022” for now because Sasaki cannot carry DDT by himself. Shunma Katsumata promised Saitama Super Arena will be turned into a sauna!
A non-stop 8-Man Tag kept everyone on their toes. Yuji Hino proved to be tough to keep off his feet. He also had the speed of Maya Yukihi there to back him up. Hiroshi Yamato stopped Yukio Naya with the Sliding X then called upon Eruption to finish the job. Yukio Sakaguchi & Saki Akai hit him with a Double PK and Hideki Okatani followed up with the Diving Knee Drop. The pin was broken and Asuka wiped out everyone with a Moonsault out of the ring. Naya got his second wind and pinned Okatani with the Back Drop.
The politician Shinichiro Kawamatsu returned to DDT in order to defend the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. He was accompanied by his bodyguard, former MMA fighter Nobutatsu Suzuki to watch over his back. Kazuki Hirata showed support for Kawamatsu and allowed Suzuki to take care of the rest of the competition. Suzuki knocked out Pokotan so Kawamatsu could pin him. However his fight with Toba kept him busy so Hirata was free to go after the champion without consequence. Antonio Honda blinded Kawamatsu & Suzuki with Gongitsune. Hirata capitalized by putting Kawamatsu in a Crab Hold. The politician reached the ropes but was pulled away and had to give up, making Hirata the new champion. Toru Owashi climbed the top rope but Hirata knocked him out with the Tegatana Chop, leaving him lying over the top rope. Hirata and Honda put each other into a Backslide Pin situation and both of them were counted out. Owashi was the last man left in the match despite being unconscious so he was declared the winner and new champion! Afterwards Kawamatsu said he is full of gratitude towards DDT for letting him experience what it is like to be a pro wrestler.
What are you doing Akito? It turns out his plan to join Pheromones as a sleeper agent has turned into a desire to join the unit for real! While Danshoku Dieno & Yumehito Imanari were busy doing their usual thing to Shinya Aoki & Yuki Ishida, they also targeted Sanshiro Takagi’s dodgy shoulder. Akito hesitated to attack Takagi Pheromones style until he decided to give him the Stunner instead, then go after the injured shoulder for the submission win! Akito verbally blasted Takagi afterwards for tricking him into thinking he could become the next CyberFight president in order to do his bidding. Akito decided he’s going to join Pheromones not because he was told to but because he wants to!
But first Akito needed to take Pheromones right of passage and do the Excalibur Challenge. He has to pull the sword Sexcalibur out of Sexy Hill (Yuki Iino’s backside) to prove he is worthy of joining the unit. Akito tried several times already and this was to be his final attempt. However Kendo Kashin and a person wearing a Dieno mask (DDT website thinks it might have been Yumiko Hotta but evidence on social media suggests it was actually Hideki Suzuki) suddenly ran out and attacked Pheromones! Takagi thanked Kashin for rescuing him but Kashin started complaining about this being the build up to “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2022”. He decided they were going to do their own Excalibur Challenge by shoving Sexcaliur into Hisaya Imabayashi’s mouth for five seconds. When they left, Dieno called Akito back into the ring and accepted him into Pheromones. He decided Akito’s Pheromones name will be Akito “Cochin” Nishigaki! Together they will crush Takagi’s terrorist team in Saitama Super Arena!
The dark match ended in a rare time limit draw when Yusuke Okada Vs Yuya Koroku lasted the full ten minutes. Okada almost won in the final seconds with a Diving Headbutt but Koroku kicked out as the time expired. After the match Okada asked Koroku if that is all he’s got because he was chosen over him for one of the inter-promotional matches against NOAH. He told Koroku to put his feelings into his match at Saitama Super Arena and win. A little while later during the show opening segment, Koroku was joined by Toi Kojima. They shook hands and agreed to join forces to beat NOAH.
The King Of DDT 2022 brackets were revealed. The Round 1 matches are Hideki Okatani Vs HARASHIMA, Chris Brookes Vs Naomi Yoshimura, Yuki Ueno Vs KANON, Yuji Hino Vs Daisuke Sasaki, Yuki “Sexy” Iino Vs MAO, Jun Akiyama Vs Yukio Sakaguchi, Yukio Naya Vs Kazusada Higuchi and Tetsuya Endo Vs Masahiro Takanashi.
Today’s show was already happening while I was typing this up. Results will be posted later but I wanted to get this done first.

The DDT Extreme Title match will be held under Sexy Movie Star Rules because Yuki Iino is a sexy star and AKIRA is a movie star. The match will involve Director MacToba (Thanomsak Toba) directing both wrestlers to complete certain scenarios before they can win the match by pinfall or submission. All scenarios must be completed and approved by Toba or else the match result will not count.
During the week Akito had another attempt at the Excalibur Challenge so he could join Pheromones. His task was to pull the sword Sexcalibur out of Sexy Hill, aka Yuki Iino’s butt. Akito failed to succeed so he tried again this time with the aid of a massage gun but still could not pull out the sword. He pleaded to have one more go but Danshoku Dieno told him to wait until Korakuen Hall for his final chance. If he does not succeed then Pheromones will have to find another partner for “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2022”.
Chris Brookes has been diagnosed with a sprained ankle and has not been cleared to wrestle on the show. He is expected to return at “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2022” on 12th June. Hiroshi Yamato takes his place on this show.
Gota Ihashi will also be absent due to enteritis. Pokotan replaces him in the Battle Royal.

Over in America, Maki Itoh achieved her 3rd International Princess Title defence by beating Mia Yim at a Prestige Wrestling show. That same day back in Japan, Rhio made her Tokyo Joshi Pro debut and made herself the next contender for the championship. Itoh’s return to Japan will be to defend the title against Rhio.
Yuka Sakazaki also returns from her AEW excursion to get the ball rolling on her Princess Of Princess Title match against Shoko Nakajima.
Miyu Yamashita is still on her American excursion this week so won’t be at the show. She’ll be back in time for “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2022”.

In Sayaka’s mind, you need more than just doing your best to succeed in pro wrestling.

An unlikely figure has taken it upon himself to defend DDT against NOAH at “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2022” next month. It’s Daisuke Sasaki! First he led DAMNATION T.A to victory against Eruption, reclaiming the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles that were stripped from them after Minoru Fujita’s injury. This wasn’t the heroic bit because Sasaki, MJ Paul & KANON attacked Eruption with chairs. Sasaki even hit Saki Akai with a chairshot when she tried to intervene. Kazusada Higuchi & Yukio Sakaguchi did what they could to keep Hideki Okatani in the fight but that was blown when Okatani missed the Diving Knee Drop. KANON softened him up more and Sasaki gave him the Blade Runner to set up a Crossface Lock for the submission victory.
Sasaki said his team deserved to win this “stupid” tournament. He recommended Okatani to get rid of his tacky red hair and costume so he can join DAMNATION T.A. He then praised KANON as a million dollar talent. This was when Sasaki stepped up for DDT and declared he will beat Kenoh at “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2022” for the company. He warned the rest of DDT not to stand there and just watch the match. They are the champions now which means DDT revolves around Daisuke Sasaki & DAMNATION T.A! Meanwhile Eruption are licking their wounds. Sakaguchi said they will learn from the loss and adapt because any combination of unit is capable of winning the championship. Higuchi said he will rampage against the NOAH wrestlers as an individual member of Eruption while Sakaguchi said he will take his frustration out on Ganbare☆Pro!
History was made with Asuka becoming the first woman to win the KO-D Tag Team Titles! With MAO as her tag partner, they defeated CDK in a chaotic bout that saw MAO get buried underneath the entrance gate early in the match. MAO escaped and then used the entrance gate to Moonsault onto Chris Brookes below. Asuka did her own risky high flying by delivering a Missile Dropkick to CDK and Antonio Honda outside the ring. More double team moves came quick and fast from both teams until MAO used the Michinoku Driver II on Brookes to get the upper had. Brookes tried to reverse course but MAO pulled out the Osaka Rinkai Upper (a Super Delfin signature move) to create the title change. MAO said he doesn’t now how long this adventure with Asuka can go but he is going to enjoy it. Asuka didn’t expect to cry over this and thinks they can make something amazing together even as an impromptu tag team. MAO will also now be a double champion defending the DDT Universal Title against Masahiro Takanashi on 1st June.
The present and future of DDT in many forms were put together into an 8-Man Tag Match. All of BURNING was on one side and they were victorious against the mixture of heavyweight tag and DDTeeeen!! wrestlers. El Unicorn wanted to be put to the test and targeted both Tetsuya Endo & Jun Akiyama. The latter lost his cool towards Unicorn’s behavior and Yusuke Okada had to stop Akiyama from Piledriving the kid. When that was cleared, Okada had his hands full with fighting Ilusion. If that wasn’t enough, Yuji Hino & Yukio Naya also wanted a piece of Endo when they could. Unicorn took centre stage again by pairing off against Yuya Koroku in the final moments. The youngster showed his toughness by gutting it out for as long as he could but Koroku made him give up in the end. Akiyama was still annoyed afterwards that the others stopped him from giving Unicorn the Piledriver. Both Unicorn and Ilusion were disappointed with the result. Unicorn promised to get more experience. Ilusion reminded him they aren’t friends and he will beat him up on the way to surpassing Endo & Akiyama.
After weeks of teasing from Carousel❤️Shun, her shy friend Elizabeth❤️Toy finally made her first public appearance as the Super Hardcore Girls took on the Prominence pair of Suzu Suzuki & Akane Fujita. Toy entered to “All The Things She Said” by t.A. T.u. and wrestled in clothes that came straight from that act. It was a Hardcore Match featuring tables, Lego blocks, ladders, concrete blocks and more. Shun missed a baseball bat swing aimed for Suzuki and hit Toy instead. Suzuki capitalized and pinned Toy with the German Suplex onto the ring filled with Lego. After the match she demanded to fight Shunma Katsumata instead of an “old hag” like Shun. Shun claimed she is 18 years old and will go get Katsumata. She also wants to do a full Super Hardcore Girls show in the future. Fujita later said she is open to have Prominence involved in that if there really are more Super Hardcore Girls out there. She also told Suzuki to work on her vocabulary because she keeps using the same old insults on Katsumata.
The promise of an exciting match against Yuki Ueno had Kazuki Hirata acting different today. He came out to his old theme song and even threw away his Hirata GO! glasses to show how determined he was to win. He wrestled seriously for five minutes but when it was clear he couldn’t beat Ueno he pulled out another pair of GO! glasses and returned to his normal self. Ueno had a pair of glasses too and they both danced together until Hirata tried to Cradle his opponent. Ueno hit the WR on him instead and won the match. Hirata said he wants the rematch to be a death match but it doesn’t have to happen until 23 years time.
Akito’s plan to infiltrate Pheromones and destroy it from within hit a snag. He reluctantly joined in with their shenanigans against HARASHIMA, Toru Owashi & Antonio Honda and even picked up the win. However Danshoku Dieno told Akito after the match he didn’t exhibit any pheromones at all. He will need to pass the Excalibur Challenge to join the unit. The challenge involves Akito having to pull a sword sticking out of Yuki Iino’s butt. He tried it there and then but failed. Dieno then explained you can only do the challenge once per day so Akito will have to try again tomorrow. Sanshiro Takagi is holding a promotional event tomorrow so they will do it there.
Naomi Yoshimura’s use of the Harai Goshi judo throw continues to get him wins. This time the move put down Yuki Ishida in the opening match.
The full field of 16 wrestlers were announced for the King Of DDT 2022 tournament beginning next month. They are Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama, HARASHIMA, Naomi Yoshimura, MAO, Yuki Ueno, Chris Brookes, Masahiro Takanashi, Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Sakaguchi, Hideki Okatani, Yuji Hino, Yukio Naya, Daisuke Sasaki, KANON and Yuki Iino.
Kota Umeda will return to DDT for the first time in 3 years at “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2022” on 20th August. Umeda was a key part of DNA, DDT’s developmental brand that ran from 2014 to 2018. He briefly left pro wrestling in 2019 to help run his family business but returned on a part-time basis in 2020.
So how about Konosuke Takeshita and Maki Itoh on AEW Dynamite last night? Not bad, eh? Takeshita faced Hangman Page in a non-title barnburner of a match while Itoh was the “Joker” entry in the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament fighting against a previous ally Britt Baker. Both lost their matches unfortunately but their positions on the show was a great sign of the relationship between DDT/TJPW and AEW.

A press conference was held today featuring CDK, MAO and Asuka to promote both of their upcoming title matches. First up is the KO-D Tag Team Titles match involving all four wrestlers. Asuka thinks she and MAO have a deeper bond together than CDK does. She thinks their high flying skills will fuse together and she is looking forward to becoming the first female KO-D Tag Champion. MAO describes his team with Asuka is a challenging adventure and he wants to help her achieve her goal because as a former tag champion he has a special attachment for those belts.
Masahiro Takanashi appreciates the gesture because he once teamed with Emi Sakura for a KO-D Tag Title match. However he thinks the title are still better off belonging to CDK. Chris Brookes had just watched Takeshita on AEW so he is currently feeling emotional. This show might be the first DDT show AEW fans will watch so Brookes feels the pressure. However he is confident the other three wrestlers will show these fans how great DDT is.

The obscure CCW Canadian Heavyweight Title is being defended again. Takumi Tsukamoto was just about the better man against Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi in the Elimination tag match but now Hiroshi has a score to settle with him over it.

“The Unbreakable” Rhio makes her Tokyo Joshi Pro debut on this show against Yuki Aino. She will also be wrestling on the 4th June show. Rhio is from Lancashire, England and is coming over as part of the relationship between TJPW and Pro Wrestling: EVE. She is 25 years old, 163cm tall and weighs 70kg. The 25 year old has been wrestling for 7 years and also has a background in Karate and Taekwondo.

The press conference continued with MAO and Takanashi talking about the DDT Universal Title match. This will be Takanashi’s first singles championship match since the Union MAX Title defence in February 2020 when he got injured. Since coming back he wrestled the new generation of DDT wrestlers. He wants to win the Universal Title so he can defend it against those same wrestlers as well as the younger members of the BASARA roster. He also mentioned Kazusada Higuchi and Kota Umeda as potential opponents. There is also one more wrestler he would really want to defend the Universal Title against but he won’t say who it is.
MAO’s history of matches against Takanashi were mostly in NωA Vs Shuten-dōji 6-Man Tags. The fact that he and Takanashi are about to headline Korakuen Hall is like a tribute for wrestlers like KUDO and Makoto Oishi. MAO has his own dream opponent for a title defence. He definitely wants to defend the Universal Title against Mike Bailey!

The spotlight currently shines brightly on the scenario involving CDK, MAO, Asuka, the KO-D Tag Team Titles and the DDT Universal Title. It draws in more people because Shunma Katsumata and Antonio Honda joined in the fun too. ShunMao gave Honda a Double Stunner and then got Asuka to get involved in a Triple Miracle Ecstasy. CDK broke the count but both were taken out with dives from Katsumata & Asuka. Honda got his second wind by doing a Lou Thesz Press and Super Kick to MAO. But MAO cut him off and grabbed the win with the Michinoku Driver II. MAO said this match is an example of DDT being on the cutting edge because they do not use any divided weight class or big name guest today.
Backstage ShunMao described the match like it was a sauna. Asuka says she can’t go to saunas because she has a tattoo. Katsumata invited her to go visit his business the Sea Sauna Shack where that wouldn’t be a problem. Asuka talked about how Chris Brookes pissed her off during the match. Katsumata warned her he can be dangerous so the best way to deal with him is to accuse him of making violent threats so his Twitter account gets banned. Asuka said she would rather take the KO-D Tag Titles from him. She then started asking Katsumata questions about Carousel❤️Shun. Over on the other side, Masahiro Takanashi admitted CDK weren’t prepared for how strong and aggressive Asuka is.
BURNING Vs BURNING had the expected result of BURNING beating BURNING. Did you get all of that? Jun Akiyama pinned Yuya Koroku and along with Tetsuya Endo praised him for the hard work he’s been doing. His advice to him is to think for himself more and more. Think about how he can rise to the top. It doesn’t need to be as massive as Koroku imagining himself carrying the company on his back. He just needs to imagine how he will move up the ladder. If he can do that then DDT will move up with him. Yusuke Okada thinks he has always been stuck in the same position Koroku is in now so he knows he has to continue working hard too.
Hideki Okatani and KANON targeted each other a lot in their match and kept fighting after it was over. Daisuke Sasaki mocked Okatani for thinking he can beat KANON and had threats aimed towards Yukio Sakaguchi, who wasn’t there today. Okatani called DAMNATION T.A goofy and undeserving of the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. His growing attitude is approved by Kazusada Higuchi, who himself is confident that Eruption will win the vacant titles on 22nd May.
Even though Yuki Ueno won his match against Yukio Naya, he thought Naya showed more growth and it is only a matter of time before Naya breaks out in DDT. Ueno’s current position means he can’t afford to let other wrestlers use him as a springboard. There are no weight divisions in DDT so no matter how big his opponents are, Ueno can’t lose to them if he wants to be champion.
Danshoku Dieno asked if Akito wants to join Pheromones because they will be all teaming together at “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2022”. Akito refused, calling them the most vile unit in DDT. His point was proven when Pheromones found ways to make Akito do lewd things to Toru Owashi before Yuki Iino pinned him with the Yoropean Clutch. After the match Dieno complained about Akito sending mixed signals. He doesn’t want to join Pheromones but he still joins in on their fun? They left the ring and Akito demanded to be pulled out of the match. Sanshiro Takagi apologised for putting the CyberFight VP into the match without his permission. He explained the reason is somebody has to team with them to make sure they don’t cross the line during the live broadcast of a mega show like “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL”. Akito asked why couldn’t Takagi team with them and Takagi’s answer was Pheromones would figure out it is a trap right away. Takagi has grudges with them but Akito is a neutral who gets along with everybody. Takagi then talked about having a shoulder problem that could prevent him from doing his job as CyberFight President. If Akito does a good job keeping Pheromones under control then maybe he could replace Takagi as President! Akito suddenly had a change of heart and offered to team with Pheromones for a few warm up matches before “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL”. He will trick Pheromones into letting him join the unit and destroy them from within!
Maya Yukihi continues to fit in with DDT, even when she doesn’t want to. She declined Kazuki Hirata’s offer to wear the Hirata GO! glasses so he knocked her out with the Tegatana Chop and placed the glasses on her face anyway. That backfired when Yukihi’s dancing attacks targeted him as well as their opponents. Soma Takao gave Hirata the Perfect Driver and Saki Akai then pinned him with the Rookie Award. Akai can see Yukihi is having fun in DDT but she worries she is not taking full advantage of her surroundings. She hopes their upcoming rematch will set Yukihi back on track. Yukihi promised to avenge the singles loss to Akai and conquer more of DDT.
Midway through the show five new trainees were introduced to the fans. A tryout was held by DDT in March looking for new recruits aged 18 to 23 years old. They new trainees are Kazuma Sumi from Mie, Yuya Takaki from Shiga, Rukiya Ikeda from Osaka, Shogo Hamaguchi from Aichi and Takeshi Masada from Osaka.

Momentum is on CDK’s side after today. They grabbed the win over ShunMao and it gave an opportunity afterward for Masahiro Takanashi to make some comments. MAO recently accused him of becoming detached from DDT because of his partial schedule with the company. Takanashi denies it, explaining some of his time away was because of injury. He wants everyone to believe that no matter what ring he is in, he is fighting for DDT. He has support from Chris Brookes and Antonio Honda backing him up too. After CDK defends the KO-D Tag Team Titles, the three of them want to go on a world tour pointing to Thailand, Singapore, Europe and India as their most wanted destinations. Backstage MAO was pleased to hear Takanashi’s response because they’ve bought seen plenty of people leave DDT over the last 6 or 7 years. MAO would be feeling more lonely if Takanashi was to leave too. It motivates MAO to defend the DDT Universal Title even more so it can truly become a universal championship.
The tournament to crown the next KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions has come down to Eruption and DAMNATION T.A reaching the final. Eruption defeated the mixture of martial arts fighters Akito, Hikaru Machida & Thanomsak Toba with Hideki Okatani getting the pin. Toba in particular was left feeling down over taking the fall but still encourages Machida to take his place as the gloved pro wrestler. DAMNATION T.A eliminated DISASTER BOX thanks to some cheating. Minoru Fujita pulled the referee out of the ring so his team could attack their opponents with a chair, leading to their victory. Eruption faced off with them after the match warning that using a chair on them won’t work. Okatani also wanted to pick a fight with KANON because of his sudden change into becoming a cheater. If KANON joined DAMNATION T.A for company then Okatani promises to beat him up and leave him on his own when he is done. Daisuke Sasaki swore to win back the titles that were stripped from DAMNATION T.A.
The DDTeeeen!! generation were given their toughest challenges yet in their young careers. They had to fight two of the top wrestlers in DDT. Despite their best efforts El Unicorn could not beat Tetsuya Endo and Ilusion lost to Yuki Ueno. Endo was left dizzy by Unicorn’s performance and encourage him to work hard so he can reach the level where Endo can hate him. Ueno could sense the energy coming from Ilusion despite not being able to see his face. The matches were a wakeup call for the teenagers but they are getting the encouragement to continue because they have so much left ahead of them. Unicorn is only 14 and already has his sights set on the KO-D Openweight Title as his long term goal. Ilusion will be turning 20 soon and wants to dominate DDTeeeen!! until he graduates into becoming an adult pro wrestler.
Pokotan and Hisaya Imabayashi both travelled to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government earlier in the day to search for Shinichiro Kawamatsu. Pokotan was going to ambush the politician and win back the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title with Imabayashi acting as the referee. However their plan was foiled when Kawamatsu’s bodyguard came to the rescue and knocked Pokotan out. The bodyguard was revealed to be Nobutatsu Suzuki, an accomplished MMA fighter and former ONE FC Welterweight Champion! DDT later announced that Kawamatsu will have to defend the Iron Man Title in a Battle Royal on 1st June. They were told Suzuki will be with him.
Yuki Iino has renamed his Lariat the Sexy Giga Slash. He called out Shinya Aoki after winning the match with the move.
DDT will return to the Kumamoto Castle Natural Hot Spring on 29th May for a Street Wrestling Match and this time a small audience will be allowed to attend it. Shinya Aoki & Yukio Naya Vs Shunma Katsumata & Toui Kojima is the advertised bout.

She takes on Riho for a spot in the tournament on the next episode of Rampage.

It was a big surprise to see Naoya Nomura show up yesterday asking to wrestle a match in Ganpro. He and Mizuki Watase have formed team in Capture International called REAL BLOOD and they are ready to show it to a new audience. Watase wants everyone to know that he wrestles in other places besides Ganpro so an alliance like this did not come from out of nowhere.

The biggest match in Ganpro history is set. Ken Ohka founded Ganpro in 2013 and Yumehito Imanari was his very first signing. Fast forward to 2022 and they will fight each other in a headline match at Ota Ward Gymnsium. Imanari’s newly won Spirit Of Ganbare Title will also be on the line.
Shota & Soma Takao are having a blast teaming together as ROMANCE DAWN. They now want to take on the best teams around and that means CDK are in their sights. CDK are ready for them but are a little confused that ROMANCE DAWN have not asked for any of their tag team championships to be on the line. For now the match is non-title and advertised as a special attraction.
