5b. Illustration: Hyper Misao eliminated Miu Watanabe with a Seahorse drawing.
5c. TK Quiz: Arisu Endo eliminated Hyper Misao.
5d. Cheering: Arisu Endo eliminated Rika Tatsumi by Audience Decision (3:00).
*Arisu Endo becomes the 1st Tetsuya Koda Seat King champion.
6. Costume Change Match: Mizuki, Yuki Kamifuku & Pom Harajuku defeated Suzume, Mahiro Kiryu & Haruna Neko when Mizuki pinned Kiryu with the Diving Foot Stomp (13:21).

The wrestler costumes in the main event went as follows: Mizuki was dressed as Shoko Nakajima, Yuki Kamifuku was dressed as Mahiro Kiryu, Pom Harajuku was dressed as Yuki Kamifuku, Suzume was dressed as Nao Kakuta, Mahiro Kiryu was dressed as Haruna Neko and Haruna Neko was dressed as Raku. Kamifuku apologised during the match for acting like a more authentic Kiryu than Kiryu. After the match Mizuki admitted it’s difficult to become someone else. Suzume said she would be happy if her efforts made everyone feel like they say Kakuta wrestle today. Neko said she was nervous so she watched videos of Raku in order to become her. Kiryu said she has new respect for Neko because she isn’t able to behave as a catgirl like she does.

The show began with a Cooking Match between Yuka Sakazaki and Moka Miyamoto. The two were tasked with cooking up a Okonomiyaki but first they had to compete in mini-games with the winners getting to choose their ingredients. Miyamoto won the games of jump rope and building a card castle and another card game to receive cabbage and pork belly. Sakazaki was left with chocolate and marshmellow. However Sakazaki won the third game of cards but was convinced by the audience to pick coffee flavored jelly over seafood mix. They spent the rest of the show creating their meal to be served to Daisuke Kiso before the main event. Kiso enjoyed both dishes and unexpectedly chose Sakazaki as the winner. He liked Miyamoto’s dish because as a traditional Okonomiyaki but Sakazaki’s tasted so sweet and had the bonus of her improvising with unusual ingredients that it won him over in the end.

The 5 Way Match was held under Tetsuya Koda Seat King rules. Chairs were placed in the ring each with a stipulation attached to it. HIMAWARI sat down on the chair that said “No Touch Rope” so she had to play a game against Miu Watanabe where you had to pin your opponent against the ropes for 3 seconds to win. Watanabe overpowered HIMAWARI and held her down onto the middle rope to eliminate her from the match. Next, Watanabe sat on the chair that said “Illustration” so she had a drawing contest against Hyper Misao. Everytime somebody got a 1 Count pin they got to draw something in 30 seconds and it was up to Koda to guess what it is. Whoever got Koda to guess correctly would win. Watanabe drew a “Frilled Lizard” but Koda thought it was Kamen Rider. Misao drew a Seahorse and Koda correctly guessed it, eliminating Watanabe. The third game was a “TK Quiz” between Misao and Arisu Endo. They had to answer trivia questions about Koda after every 1 Count pin. They got questions about Koda’s birthday and what he ate for breakfast wrong but Endo correctly guessed his blood type is B so Misao was now out of the game. The final game was a Cheering Contest between Endo and Rika Tatsumi. If neither wrestler could beat each other in 3 minutes then Koda will choose the winner based on who got cheered more. When it was time to decide, Koda declared that Endo was the winner! Tatsumi got angry over the result and slapped Koda across the face, which got her more cheers than during the match.

Haru Kazashiro was welcomed into Tokyo Joshi Pro’s Tokusatsu Club by Shoko Nakajima & Yuki Aino. Kazashiro is taking Nodoka Tenma’s spot in the group so the other members expected her to be in the same base position for their standing stacked spot. She wasn’t strong enough to do it so Nakajima & Aino decided to carry her and charge into their opponents instead. That also didn’t work.

6. Princess Tag Team Titles: Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki (c) defeated Max The Impaler & Pom Harajuku when Sakazaki pinned Harajuku with an Elbow Butt (11:38).
*V1 for The Magical Sugar Rabbits.

Sadly Pom Harajuku and her runaway monster tag partner Max The Impaler were unable to win the Princess Tag Team Titles. Max used Harajuku as a projectile many times during the match, throwing her onto both Magical Sugar Rabbits at every opportunity. However they missed the Wasteland War Justice on Yuka Sakazaki, giving Mizuki the chance to Double Stomp Harajuku. Sakazaki overpowered Max with the Magical Merry-Go-Round and then got into a strike exchange with Harajuku. The fans cheered for Harajuku as she hit Elbow Strike after Elbow Strike, but Sakazaki knocked her down with one big Elbow Smash in return and that was enough to get the three count.

Max carried Harajuku away from ringside while MagiRabi celebrated their victory. Sakazaki wiped away Max’s facepaint that had smudged Mizuki’s face. She quickly cleaned it off when Mizuki asked if the facepaint represents a symbol of Max’s friendship. They both praised Harajuku for being more lively today but can’t figure out if Max is treating her like a partner or like a toy. Backstage Harajuku was so upset over losing she cried. In a rare showing of compassion, Max wiped the tears away from her face.

We all know by now that Rika Tatsumi likes to choke her opponents. Well today Suzume choked her back in an effort to prove she is a serious challenger for the International Princess Title. However Tatsumi overpowered Suzume and choked her back Neck Hanging style. Despite that setback, Suzume is still confident she can win the title from Tatsumi.

The official name for the trio of Yuki Kamifuku, Yuki Aino & Yuki Arai is now Triple YUKI! Today was their second time all teaming together and they believe their combined power is infinite. After they won their match, Kamifuku gave Aino & Arai gummy bears as a reward. The other team’s vibes were not as nice though. Maki Itoh blamed Shino Suzuki for losing. Her criticisms were to motiviate Suzuki into doing better next time but Itoh then told Hikari Noa that she won’t be teaming with Suzuki again.

HIMAWARI was wrestling in a 3 Way Match for the first time so she had a lot to prove to the self-proclaimed “God Of 3 Ways” Hyper Misao. HIMAWARI was told she has to qualities to succeed in 3 Way Matches so Misao proposed they work together against Raku. They went on to fight Raku 2-on-1 but Raku got out of there with the win anyway. She capitalised on the alliance falling apart and then pinned HIMAWARI before Misao could break it up.

6. Princess Tag Team Titles: Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki (c) Vs Max The Impaler & Pom Harajuku

A contract signing was held for the Princess Tag Team Titles a few days ago. The Magical Sugar Rabbits and Pom Harajuku arrived to the building on time but Max The Impaler was nowhere to be seen. The three of them signed the contract anyway and gave comments about the upcoming match. Yuka Sakazaki said if Max does not show up for the title match then Harajuku will be too weak to wrestle by herself. Mizuki thinks the match will have to go ahead as a 2-On-1 Handicap match, which she thinks is convenient for her & Sakazaki. Harajuku was certain that Max would eventually show up and she was proven right. Max burst into the room, took a bite out of the contract, threw the remains at MagiRabi and then grabbed Harajuku and carried her out of the room. Sayuri Namba picked up the remains of the contract and declared it to be an official signature from Max so the title match will go ahead.

The potential next challengers could be coming out of the Daydream Vs Daisy Monkey match.

The trio known as Yuki Yuki Yuki are back teaming together to wrestle in front of a crowd for the first time. I don’t think they figured out who the team captain is yet.

Nao Kakuta is not on the show due to a schedule conflict. Also the teenagers Haru Kazashiro and Runa Okubo were not booked in order to avoid the burden of having to wrestle in Osaka and Tokyo on back to back days.

6. International Princess Title: Rika Tatsumi (c) defeated Vert Vixen with the Torso Choke Dragon Sleeper (10:55).
*V2 for Rika Tatsumi.
7. Princess Of Princess Title: Mizuki (c) defeated Nao Kakuta with the Modified Face Lock (15:45).
*V1 for Mizuki.

The brand new Princess Of Princess Title run for Mizuki is off to a good start with a successful defence against Nao Kakuta. Unlike previous Princess Title matches in the past, this one featured fighting at ringside with Kakuta throwing Mizuki into the front row of chairs. Kakuta also used the Avalanche Hair Whip to thrown Mizuki back into the ring from the top rope. However Kakuta took a beating throughout the match too and was too hurt to cover Mizuki when she gave her the Shiden Kai. She went for another version of the move but Mizuki countered it and Double Stomped onto Kakuta’s shoulder when she was left sitting on the canvas empty handed. Mizuki then landed a Flying Double Stomp before taking her opponent’s arm and applying a Modified Face Lock for the submission victory.

After the match Mizuki said she was really happy that she and Kakuta got to main event a Tokyo Joshi Pro show together. She had wanted Kakuta to show new sides she has never seen before but instead the opposite happened. It’s a kind of fighting relationship she wants to continue with her. Mizuki’s next Princess Title defence is against Sawyer Wreck on 5th May but before then The Magical Sugar Rabbits have a Princess Tag Team Titles defence on 22nd April. So Mizuki’s next priority is to focus on defending the Tag Titles with Yuka Sakazaki because she only wants to concentrate on one goal at a time.

Rika Tatsumi had a brand new opponent for her second International Princess Title defence. Vert Vixen was able to withstand the attacks to her legs and fire back with powerful moves like the Stunner and Blue Thunder Bomb. She also continued using Super Kicks and Big Boots to block Tatsumi’s Hip Attack. Tatsumi switched her attack over to the Dragon Sleeper and despite some resistance at first, she was able to lock in the Body Choke and make Vixen tap out. The two bowed to each other after the match.

Tatsumi praised her challenger and told the fans she wants her title reign to bring her on an even more interesting journey. Suddenly Suzume entered the ring. She said Tatsumi is the reason she became a pro wrestler and changed her life. And it’s because of Tatsumi that it may change again because Suzume is challenging her for the title on 5th May! Tatsumi accepted, bringing up her loss to Suzume at last year’s Tokyo Princess Cup. It’s time for her to avenge the loss and get her win back. Suzume admits it is almost impossible for her to become a champion given her previous attempts to get opportunities all ended in failure. But Tatsumi inspired her to do the impossible and become a wrestler so Tatsumi can make her do the impossible again and become a champion!

The odd couple of Max The Impaler & Pom Harajuku might have something going for them after all. Harajuku was understandable scared of the experience, especially when Max lifted her above their head with the intention of throwing her onto the other team. Sakazaki used the team’s lack of cohesion to run circles around them while Mahiro Kiryu focused on beating Harajuku. However Max blew away both Sakazaki & Kiryu with attacks. They then grabbed Harajuku and threw her so she landed on top of Kiryu Pom de Justice style for the surprise three count. After the match Max raised a confused Harajuku’s hand in victory and then pulled her backstage shoulder to shouler. The two are facing The Magical Sugar Rabbits for the Princess Tag Titles on 22nd April. One thing for sure is Sakazaki didn’t figured out how to beat them today.

Being a pro wrestling referee can be a tough job. Shiori Aoki found that out first hand when the SKE48 idol was tasked with officiating a tag match. One with Hyper Misao in it. Misao immediately accused Aoki of bribery because she heard she had a meal with Yuki Arai that Arai paid for a couple of days ago. Misao then ordered her to give Arai a thorough inspection for illegal objects. Aoki did so and completely missed Misao blinding HIMAWARI with a spray can. Misao cradled HIMAWARI and Aoki counted to three. However Daisuke Kiso revealed the result did not count because Aoki never called for the ring bell to start the match. The match restarted with Aoki trying to catch up with Misao’s cheating. Misao’s spray ended up in Arai’s hands. When Aoki grabbed the can and took it away, she accidentally pressed it and sprayed into Aoki’s eyes! HIMAWARI and Shoko Nakajima tried to pin each other with flash moves so for some reason Aoki did a cartwheel before counting the pin. Aoki counted to three for the Northern Lights Suplex and correctly declared Nakajima the winner. Aoki said she felt comfortable in the role and would like to come back as an even stronger referee. HIMAWARI said she will bring her own referee next time so she can win. Meanwhile Arai is trying to figure out if buying a meal for her bandmate counts as bribary then does that mean she should stop eating dinner with her? Kyoraku Kyomei thought she did a good job and she can now be their referee friend. Nakajima encouraged her to go look up footage of Shiro Abe on Youtube so she can imitate him.

An 8-Woman Tag Match put all of the active members of The Up Up Girls together. Wakana Uehara was the unlucky girl to get the full fledge Oyasumi Express attack from all four opponents. She tagged in Toga to get out there but the other rookie didn’t fare much better. Yuki Kamifuku turned things around by resisting the Giant Swing from Miu Watanabe and putting her in a Manjigatame instead. Watanabe countered that into a Front Neck Lock Giant Swing. Kamifuku got her way back into the match by giving both Hikari Noa & Raku the Famouser at the same time. However Watanabe grabbed both her & Uehara in a Double Body Slam. The match came down to Maki Itoh pressuring Shino Suzuki into fighting back against her. Itoh countered a Sleeper Hold with a Chincrusher, landed a DDT and made Suzuki submit to the Itoh Deluxe.

The two youngest rookies Haru Kazashiro and Runa Okubo started off Match #2 against each other. They soon switched out to Haruna Neko and Suzume respectively. Yuki Aino and Arisu Endo then had their exchanges back and forth. Kazashiro tried beating Suzume with a Low Cross Body but Suzume turned things around with a Top Rope Facebuster. She then hit the Ring A Bell for the win.

A missed Overhead Kick may have been what cost Kaya Toribami the match against Moka Miyamoto. It was from that point when Miyamoto took control and kept the attacks up. Toribami was able to hit the Overhead Kick on another attempt but then she missed the Rolling Senton off the second rope. Miyamoto took back the advantage and pinned Toribami with the Korokan.

Hyper Misao is producing her own one-off event called “HYPE!” in Kitazawa Town Hall on 25th May. Misao cannot guarantee that all members of the TJPW roster will be on the show but she wants to create and exciting show for everybody.

A one day trios tournament sponsored by Nivea will take place in Shinagawa on 29th April. The winning team receives a year’s worth of cream care body wash as their prize. Moka Miyamoto Vs Sawyer Wreck will also be on the show in a non-tournament bout.

The Up Up Girls will be holding a solo event in Shinjuku FACE on 10th June.

The 10th annual Tokyo Princess Cup will take place across seven shows this year. The early rounds will be at Ryogoku KFC Hall on 15th, 16th, 17th & 22nd July. The Quarter Finals are at Korakuen Hall on 29th July, the Semi Finals in Korakuen on 12th August and the Final in Korakuen on the 13th.

Yuki Arai & Maki Itoh Vs Yuka Sakazaki & Shoko Nakajima was announced for 5th May to celebrate Arai’s 2nd anniversary of her wrestling debut.

1. Hikari Noa defeated Shinno Suzuki with a Jumping Neckbreaker Drop (6:13).
2. Arisu Endo, Haru Kazashiro & Runa Okubo defeated Mahiro Kiryu, Wakana Uehara & Toga when Endo submitted Uehara with the Camel Clutch (8:27).
3. Suzume defeated HIMAWARI with the Ring A Bell (5:11).
4. Yuki Kamifuku defeated Haruna Neko with the Famouser (6:29).
5. Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe defeated Shoko Nakajima & Kaya Toribami when Tatsumi pinned Toribami after the Daydream Eternity (13:11).
6. Nao Kakuta & Pom Harajuku defeated Mizuki & Moka Miyamoto when Kakuta pinned Miyamoto with the Shiden Kai (13:45).

A lot of hair pulling took place between Mizuki and Nao Kakuta in the main event. Kakuta took it one step further by grabbing Mizuki’s hair when both were standing on the top turnbuckle and then she threw her to the mat with an Avalanche Snapmare. After Kakuta won the match she told the fans she feels like a mess right now but is able to win the Princess Of Princess Title no matter how messy she gets. Mizuki thinks there is nobody else in Tokyo Joshi Pro who fights like Kakuta so she will have to face that to defend her championship.

Pom Harajuku was on the winning team in the main event and is still getting over the shock of having to team with Max The Impaler soon. Harajuku said Max can become a strong ally for her so it is up to Harajuku to improve her own support power for the team to be a success. She thinks it will be just like controlling a Gundam. Harajuku later tried to steal Mizuki’s tag title belt while Mizuki was giving an interview but failed.

A lot of the undercard had to be changed around on short notice due to Raku, Hyper Misao and Yuki Aino all falling ill in the days leading up to the show.

Max The Impaler and Vert Vixen were both announced to be on the 16th April show in Shizuoka.

April 6, 2023

I’m about to go on holiday so if there’s not posts here for the next two weeks it’s because of that. The Tokyo Joshi Pro talent that had their flight cancelled earlier in the week eventually made it home but it sounds like they had a real frustrating experience getting their. Then there’s the news coming out of last night where The 37KAMIINA, Maki Itoh and Mizuki were on the AEW Dark Elevation taping that took place before Dynamite. Then when Dynamite was over Konosuke Takeshita and Miyu Yamashita were on the ROH taping that was held right after it. I’ll write about all of that in next month’s Around The World article.

What’s this? Max The Impaler is returning to Japan wanting to regain the Princess Tag Team Titles that they lost last month. However they are going on their own because Heidi Howitzer has other matters in the Wasteland to deal with. What can Max do? They demanded to team with one person in particular… Pom Harajuku?!? Max’s obsession with Pom has now turned them from enemies into the unlikeliest of tag teams!

1. Suzume defeated Shino Suzuki with the Mikazuki Meteor Shower (6:31).
2. Shoko Nakajima, Wakana Uehara & HIMAWARI defeated Arisu Endo, Haru Kazashiro & Runa Okubo when Nakajima submitted Kazashiro with a Butterfly Lock (9:16).
3. Max The Impaler & Heidi Howitzer defeated Hyper Misao & Pom Harajuku when Max pinned Harajuku with a Short Range Lariat (7:39).
4. Rika Tatsumi, Miu Watanabe & Raku defeated Yuya Koroku, Mahiro Kiryu & Toga when Tatsumi pinned Toga with the Twist Of Fate (11:56).
5. Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh defeated Moka Miyamoto & Kaya Toribami when Yamashita pinned Toribami with a Right High Kick (10:06).
6. Hikari Noa, Nao Kakuta & Yuki Aino defeated Mizuki, Yuka Sakazaki & Haruna Neko when Kakuta pinned Neko with the Shiden Kai (12:39).

After the main event Nao Kakuta got on the microphone and told Mizuki how amazed she was seeing her win the Princess Of Princess Title at “GRAND PRINCESS ’23”. Kakuta then brought up Mizuki’s 10th Anniversary from December and how happy she was that Mizuki chose her to take part in it. Today Kakuta is the one choosing Mizuki because she wants a Princess Title shot! Mizuki said if she was chosen then she cannot refuse the challenge. She did however decline to shake Kakuta’s hand. The title match will headline the 15th April Korakuen Hall show.

Today was Miyu Yamashita’s last match in Tokyo Joshi Pro before she embarks on her three month tour of America. Her return match in Japan will be at Fukuoka on 25th June. Maki Itoh will be with her on and off during this time depending on Itoh’s own schedule. For example they will be flying to Canada together because they are both wrestling on a Nation Extreme Wrestling show this Friday.

Hyper Misao came up with a plan to beat The Wasteland War Party called “Operation Hansel And Gretel”. It involved Misao leaving a bunch of cute objects around ringside to distract Max The Impaler. When Max gets distracted, Misao would then tape them to the ring post. Max fell for the trap but easily got rid of the tape. Pom Harajuku tried to fight off Heidi Howitzer with Shin Kicks until Max returned. That caused Misao & Harajuku to keep tagging each other in to avoid Max. They finally found the courage to find back and even got to trap Howitzer against the ropes. Harajuku had her big moment to shine by attempting the Pom de Justice but Max countered it with a Lariat for the 3 count.

Texas wrestler Vert Vixen will be touring with TJPW in April. She will be wrestling on the shows booked for 15th, 22nd and 23rd April. Yuka Sakazaki fought Vixen on AEW Dark Elevation last month.

Shiori Aoki from SKE48 is making her referee debut on 15th April. The match she is officiating will be Kyoraku Kyomei Vs Yuki Arai & HIMAWARI.

15. KO-D Openweight Title: Yuji Hino (c) Vs Yukio Naya

A press conference was held in Shinjuku today for some of the matches on the show. Yuki Ueno said he feels honored that an international superstar has come to Japan wanting to fight him. Samuray Del Sol said the one place he has not conquered is Japan. He first learned of DDT by seeing footage of El Generico wrestling Kota Ibushi there. He’s been watching and studying Ueno’s matches so is excited to be wrestling the best.

Konosuke Takeshita reminded everyone that he’s been with DDT for over ten years and the only person he hasn’t wrestled one on one is his boss Sanshiro Takagi. They have no choice but to finally do this match now. He has gratitude for Takagi and sees this as a match between a parent and their child. Takagi’s been a great father figure but the time has come to surpass him. Takagi said he wants to be in the best shape he can for the match. Some injuries have gotten in his way but he isn’t letting that be any excuse. He won’t let Takeshita move past him so easily and will do his best to crush him! Takeshita also said his experience in AEW has given him a hunger he couldn’t get in Japan because spots on their shows are so limited.

The “Super Powerhouse Tag Team” made themselves known while Super Sasadango Machine & Antonio Honda were being interviewed. The two men thought they were going to get Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima until they worked out that TenKoji’s schedule wouldn’t make it possible. Instead they are getting The Wasteland War Party! Both Sasadango & Honda were terrified by the appearance of Max The Impaler & Heidi Howitzer. The War Party left them laying on the floor with Headbutts. When Honda regained consciousness he began to cry. He thought he was getting a dream match but instead it’s going to be a nightmare!

Away from the press conference in a separate interview, Saki Akai talked about her upcoming match against Masahiro Takanashi. They had one previous singles match together in the 1st Round of the King Of DDT 2018. Takanashi won that match but for the rematch Akai warns there is a part of her that he does not know about. If she can tap into it tomorrow she can find a way to beat him. Then when that match is done Akai wants to focus on Eruption winning the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles in order to push Hideki Okatani up to the next level. She has other plans to celebrate her 10 year anniversary later in the year. Yukio Sakaguchi taught her how to fight in the ring so she would like to face him in a match. She hopes Yoshiko will come back from her break some day for another match. Danshoku Dieno is another past opponent she wants to do a big match with again. She also suggested Takumi Iroha, Rina Yamashita and Sumire Natsu as potential future opponents for her in a DDT ring.

5. International Princess Title: Rika Tatsumi (c) Vs Billie Starkz
6. Princess Tag Team Titles: Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh (c) Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki

Some of the new champions making their first defences on the USA show. 121000000 Vs The Magical Sugar Rabbits in the main event now has the Princess Tag Team Titles on the line. Yuka Sakazaki wants to show everyone how much MagiRabi has powered up from fighting each other. Mizuki has the least experience wrestling overseas of the four but now she is the Princess Of Princess Champion she is not scared of any challenge. She’s also excited by the possibility of becoming the only person in TJPW to hold two Princess Titles at the same time. Miyu Yamashita believes the timing is right for 121000000 to beat MagiRabi on TJPW’s first USA show. Maki Itoh wants her American simps to know they are getting to see her TJPW form instead of the usual version they see from her previous appearances in the country.

Billie Starkz claims she was going to challenge the International Princess Champion no matter who it was coming out “GRAND PRINCESS ’23”. That it happens to be her already scheduled opponent Rika Tatsumi made it a lot easier for her to get the title shot. With the match happening in America, Starkz will get to fight for the championship in front of her friends and family. The new champion Tatsumi has already begun changing her look to be more America-like (or “AmeRika”) in order to truly act like an international champion. She went to this press conference wearing sunglasses and drinking a cola. She isn’t worried about fighting Starkz in her home country because it is still happening on a TJPW show. That means Tatsumi still has the home field advantage.

2. Current Blast 6-Man Tag Death Match: Atsushi Onita, Shunma Katsumata & Toi Kojima Vs Joey Janela, Sanshiro Takagi & Takeshi Masada

According to Atsushi Onita he paid 400,000 yen to trademark the Current Blast Death Match. Rather than trying to buy it off him, Sanshiro Takagi would rather take it by force. He still wants DDT to take ownership of the trademark and is joining forces with Joey Janela to do it. Janela has made it his number one goal during his latest tour of Japan to destroy his hero Onita in an exploding death match. Takagi also picked Takeshi Masada to be their tag partner, thinking this kind of dangerous atmosphere is just what the super rookie has been missing. Onita has his DDO allies Shunma Katsumata & Toi Kojima backing him up. If their winning ways continue then Onita has promised to create a new Current Blast 6-Man Tag Team Championhip as something new for them to fight for!

10. Princess Of Princess Title: Mizuki defeated Yuka Sakazaki (c) with the Cutie Special (21:02).
*Yuka Sakazaki fails in V3. Mizuki becomes the 12th Princess Of Princess Champion!

A clean sweep of title changes marked Tokyo Joshi Pro’s big day at Ariake Coliseum. In the main event Mizuki added her name to the short list of people to hold the Princess Of Princess Title, beating her closest friend Yuka Sakazaki. It was an emotional match for both Magical Sugar Rabbits because neither wanted to fight each other but knew it had to happen. Sakazaki used a top rope version of the Magical Merry-Go-Round before doing the regular kind but Mizuki was barely able to kick out. Mizuki missed the Whirling Candy the first time but eventually caught Sakazaki with the move. She landed the Diving Foot Stomp a few times but Sakazaki became dead weight that Mizuki struggled to roll over, giving her enough time to kick out of the pin. In the end it took one rolling strike to counter another with Mizuki stopping Sakazaki in her tracks with a Back Elbow. It then took two Cutie Specials for Mizuki to finally become the new champion.

The two hugged after the match and Mizuki received her title belt. She got on the microphone and told the audience how much she loves everyone in TJPW. She will hold onto the Princess Title and do her best to be like the previous champions who she all admires. Now that she is champion she promises to work with everyone to make TJPW even more exciting. She also won’t let anybody take Sakazaki away from her. In regards to any title defences she said backstage she wants to fight anyone but her tag partner.

The Princess Tag Team Titles have been rescued from The Wasteland War Party but it could be going on a new adventure around the world. 121000000 entered the arena with new ring costumes and an extra pep in their step. The contract signing for the title match only took place an hour before the show began. Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh got fired up during it after Heidi Howitzer called both of them weak. The match got off to a rough start for the challengers when Howitzer & Max The Impaler ambushed them. However the tide changed when Yamashita got Max with a High Kick and German Suplex combo. The champions targeted Itoh and had her set up for the Master Blaster when she got out of the way, giving Yamashita an opening to hit the Return Crash. Max was given the Skull Kick and Itoh landed the Flying Big Head on Howitzer to get the three count. Yamashita is about to embark on a three month expedition to America. She made it clear she wants 121000000 to defend the titles around the world. Backstage they again tried to get the media to join along in their “One To…” “…Million!” catchphrase but again they kept silent.

Rika Tatsumi can now call herself the one and only grand slam champion in TJPW! She defeated her Daydream partner Miu Watanabe to win the International Princess Title, becoming the only wrestler to have won that, the Princess Of Princess Title and the Princess Tag Team Titles in their career. She made her entrance sporting a new short haircut and focused on using submission holds like the Figure 4 and Dragon Sleeper. Watanabe countered it with her strength, lifting Tatsumi out of the Sleeper and spinning her around into a Neck Hanging Giant Swing! But the Dragon Sleeper came back as a way for Tatsumi to counter the Tear Drop. Tatsumi then switched it into the White Dragon Sleeper to make Watanabe submit. Backstage Tatsumi said she saw a version of Watanabe she never knew before and experienced a daydream she never knew existed. She went into this match thinking it could result in Daydream splitting up but she would rather stay together with Watanabe and continue teaming with her. Watanabe agrees and is looking forward to seeing how her tag partner’s title reign will go. Now that Tatsumi has the IP Title and the grand slam, she now wants to recapture the other belts so she can truly become the Triple Crown King!

It was a good effort from Yuki Arai but she just couldn’t beat Aja Kong. She took some risk by using a Missile Dropkick for the first time to rock her opponent. The size difference rendered both the Sharpshooter and the Full Nelson Buster uselss so Arai found ways to hit the Finally kick from higher ground, whether it was from standing on the ropes or standing on the ring apron while Kong was outside. The tactic almost got Kong counted out but she made it back by 19. Kong launced the counter attack with her steel can. Arai took a Piledriver and kicked out of a Back Drop. She dodged the Diving Back Elbow and started throwing kicks to fight Kong off. A Short-Range Lariat knocked Arai down and she was able to kick out at one but the Vertcial Drop Brainbuster brought her spirited performance to an end. Kong gave Arai some words outside the ring afterwards before leaving. Kong’s words were “Let’s do it again.”

Match #6 featured a few returns. Billie Starkz is back and she got to form an American Midwest tag team with Yuki Kamifuku. Their opponents NEO Biishiki-gun were not flattered by Starkz’s appearance. Sakisama stared her down while Mei Saint-Michel got annoyed by Starkz ignoring her. That didn’t last long especially at that moment when Starkz did a Swanton Bomb out of the ring towards Saint-Michel’s direction. NEO Biishiki-gun regrouped and scored the win when they got Kamifuku with La Revolucion. Backstage Sakisama said she isn’t sure how long she will be around TJPW this time. It all depends on what mood she and Saint-Michel are in. Also Saint-Michel wants to go visit Odaiba because she heard there’s a giant robot there.

Have no fear, citizens. The threat of a rampaging Andreza Giant Panda destroying Ariake Coliseum has been squashed by Kyoraku Kyomei! Andreza’s tag partner Haruna Neko made the mistake of entering the ring while the panda was still walking down the ramp at slow speed. Hyper Misao attacked Haruna while Shoko Nakajima stood on the top turnbuckle shooting at it with a laser cannon. When Andreza got to enter the ring Misao sprayed it with a fire extinguisher. Andreza fought back with massive Headbutts. Misao tried attacking it with a glowing Kyoraku Saber but it didn’t have any effect. Andreza missed a Headbutt, hitting Neko by mistake. Misao then crashed the Hyper Mobile in the panda outside the ring while Nakajima pinned Neko with the Northern Lights Suplex. Backstage Neko said she would like to team with Andreza again. She knows the rest of Andreza’s family have wrestled in matches before so they can join in too.

Ryo Mizunami was feeling the groove in her return to TJPW. She even surprised Yukinori Matsui with a hearty slap on the back during the in-ring inspection before the bell rang. Moka Miyamoto took some heavy hits from her before getting to make a comeback. Mizunami took her best shots though and held her guard. The gap in experience was too much for Miyamoto and she ended up getting pinned with the Diving Guillotine Drop. Backstage Mizunami praised Miyamoto for still having life in her eyes after getting beaten. She’d like to fight her again when Miyamoto gets stronger.

A new double team finisher called the 5G was shown off by Free WiFi, but it’s a move that comes from Hikari Noa’s past. Noa & Nao Kakuta both picked up Pom Harajuku in a Double Argentine Backbreaker and then flipped her over into a Facebuster for the pin. The move was used by Noa before when she was in Pandemic Boo-Boo but now it belongs to her & Kakuta. The match also showed some trouble in the relationship between Raku and Ram Kaichow. When they were in the ring together, Raku accused Kaichow of cheating on her! Kaichow got the last word in by hitting Raku with the Rainmaker before Free WiFi did their finish. Even though Kaichow was on the winning team, she couldn’t help but do the Goodnight Express pose to the cameras while leaving the ring. She stopped once she noticed Free WiFi saw her doing it. Backstage Kaichow tried explaining to everyone that she’s not cheating on Raku because she would never do that to a girl that cute. She also thinks Raku is a genius for bringing in a pillow to do her nap spots. This entire drama took all then attention away from Yuki Aino’s new outfit too. She doesn’t mind though. In fact she brought up an idea to team with Kaichow as The Raku Lovers Alliance!

The 2023 class was put on full display for Match #2. Both Haru Kazashiro & Runa Okubo made their debuts teaming with Kaya Toribami & Toga. Both Kazashiro and Okubo got to show off on HIMAWARI. Kazehiro hit a Shoulder Blow while Okubo did a Waterwheel Drop. Wakana Uehara & Shino Suzuki played their parts to cut off the other team while Mahiro Kiryu pinned Toga with the Spinebuster. Backstage Toribami apologised to the rest of her team because she wanted to give them all their first win. Okubo said she was nervous but had fun. She wants to become a cute and cool wrestler that people will admire. Kazashiro has been watching TJPW since primary school and felt honored when she heard Sayuri Namba announce her name. She wants to be the kind of wrestler who will inspire people to work harder.

The first match of the show was the Daisy Monkey showdown. Suzume and Arisu Endo fought their hearts out against each other, ending with Suzume hitting the Ring A Bell for the victory. Backstage Suzume said Endo is the girl she would like to be: bright, straightforward and loved by everyone. Suzume can see a future where the two of them are champions together. Endo thinks the two of them were able to convey their feelings for each other through wrestling.

The show began with a musical performance from The Up Up Girls. It included the debut of their brand new song “SHINING MARK”.

There will be three more “big match” TJPW events taking place later this year. “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’23” will be at Ota Ward Gymnasium on 8th July. Then “WRESTLE PRINCESS IV” will be held in Tama Mirai Messe on 9th October. Lastly, the 10th anniversary show “WE ARE TJPW” is happening in Korakuen Hall on 1st December.
