Day 3 of the D-Ou Grand Prix was headlined with a champion versus champion match between Daisuke Sasaki and MAO. Sasaki blocked the Cannonball 450 with his knees and hit the Now Or Never before applying La Mistica Cross Facelock. MAO struggled over to the ropes but Sasaki rolled him into the centre of the ring, making him give up. After the match Sasaki introduced his group to the Fuji locals as “DAMNATION from Tokyo”. He explained that he is using the Grand Prix to search for an opponent to defend the KO-D Openweight Title against on 3rd January. So far Puma King is under consideration but MAO is not. Sasaki closed out the show by saying the Grand Prix will be won by either himself or another member of DAMNATION. Nobuhiro Shimatani interrupted to say it would be him and Sasaki cut him off with a Low Blow.

In a rematch from the first D-Ou Grand Prix, Akito avenged his defeat to Kazusada Higuchi. He targeted the big man’s legs throughout the match with a big attack coming from a Gory Bomb Drop. Higuchi resisted the Anklelock and went for the Doctor Bomb only for Akito to take him down for the Anklelock again. This time instead of going for a submission, Akito instead switched the Anklelock into a Modified School Boy to grab the win. Higuchi admitted that he knew his legs would be targeted but he didn’t expect it to be so much. Akito’s next match is against Sasaki on the 7th. He notes that Sasaki isn’t as good when he wrestles in non-title matches so this is Akito’s best chance to beat him.

At the start of the show Yuki Iino interrupted Makoto Oishi’s welcome speech with a demand. If Iino won today, Oishi’s mother in the audience would have to marry him and Oishi would have to call him Daddy. Iino taunted Oishi during the match by saying he would become his father. He also went to sit beside Oishi’s mom in the front row. Iino accidentally Speared Konosuke Takeshita which led to Oishi pinning Iino with the Jikiden Tornado Clutch. Oishi suffered a bloodied nose during the match but that didn’t ruin today for him. He thanked HARASHIMA for the match and also his mother for coming to see him wrestle.

The Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title changed hands for the second time in the Grand Prix when Tetsuya Endo beat Mike Bailey. The Flamingo Driver Bailey used to beat Takeshita was countered into the Yurikamome Hold. The two went back and forth with close calls until Endo used a Handspring into a Cradle to pin Bailey. Endo said he was too tired after the match but his high motivation made him win. Bailey was disappointed to lose the Iron Man Title but he’s also relieved it was to another human instead of something like food or a table.

Three matches in and Go Shiozaki finds himself on top of the A Block undefeated. Today’s win was against the other tournament outsider Puma King. Shiozaki countered the Puma Kingdom Super Power Bomb into a Hurricanarana and later pinned King with another Hurricanrana. Shiozaki felt nostalgic after the match because it’s been a while since he last wrestled a luchador. With two defeats in a row, Puma King promised to do his best because he needs to win his remaining matches.

Sammy Guevara flew a drone to the ring during his entrance then proceeded to win against Masahiro Takanashi. He used a standing Spanish Fly and the Shooting Star Press to grab the victory. Afterwards Guevara bragged about his abs.

1. Keisuke Ishii defeated Mizuki Watase with the High Angle Double Arm DDT (9:01).
2. 4 Way Match: Tetsuya Endo defeated Toru Owashi, Kazusada Higuchi and Antonio Honda when Endo pinned Honda with the Swivel Torture Rack Bomb (9:22).
3. Falls Count Anywhere Match: Sanshiro Takagi & Kazuki Hirata defeated MAO & Nobuhiro Shimatani when Takagi gave Shimatani an Anal Explosion (11:13).
4. KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi defeated Kota Umeda, Kouki Iwasaki & Yuki Ueno when Sakaguchi pinned Ueno with the Right Knee Of God (10:41).
5. Daisuke Sasaki, Shuji Ishikawa & Mad Paulie defeated Akito, Shunma Katsumata & Ethan Page when Sasaki submitted Katsumata with the Cross Facelock (14:08).
6. Makoto Oishi 39 Year Old Local Triumph! Fuji Specialty Special Tag Match: HARASHIMA & Soma Takao defeated Danshoku Dino & Makoto Oishi when HARASHIMA pinned Oishi with the Somato (16:31).

Makoto Oishi’s return home was made difficult by Danshoku Dino even though they were on the same team. Dino would not to tag in Oishi unless he admitted he was gay. Whenever Oishi denied it, Dino would refuse to tag him and continue to wrestle. It got so distracting that Mizuki Watase stood on the apron and told Oishi that he is his friend and he will support him if Dino won’t. They began to sing about Mt. Fuji and soon Kazuki Hirata joined in. Dino got so jealous that he finally reached out and tagged Oishi into the match. Sadly they lost the match to HARASHIMA & Soma Takao. Oishi told Dino he is not gay but he still loves him.

Konosuke Takeshita was taken off the show due to a lower back injury. Parts of the card was shuffled around and the biggest change was Ethan Page taking Takeshita’s spot in the ALL OUT Vs DAMNATION 6-Man Tag match. He went toe to toe with Shuji Ishikawa and stopped Daisuke Sasaki from doing the Diving Elbow Drop. Ishikawa & Mad Paulie got rid of Page with a Double Choke Slam then Sasaki put Shunma Katsumata in the Cross Facelock to make him submit. In the post-match interview Ishikawa said if Takeshita’s back isn’t in perfect condition in time for Sumo Hall then Takeshita will be no match for him. Ishikawa thinks if that is the case then Takeshita should be removed from the KO-D Openweight Title match. He’s fine with Ethan Page replacing him.

After Sanshiro Takagi was run over by a van at last Friday’s show in Shinkiba, he demanded that his match today be another Falls Count Anywhere match. Takagi wanted to teach MAO a lesson and brought in fireworks, or “state of the art anal blast machines” as he calls them. Takagi and MAO brawled in and out of the building with Kazuki Hirata and Nobuhiro Shimatani trying to catch up with them. A kettlebell was brought into the match and thrown about like a bowling ball. Takagi and MAO later went out to the ring truck and had a duel with loose turnbuckle pads. At the end, Hirata held down MAO on the top of the truck while Takagi placed the fireworks into Shimatani’s ass and set them off to win the match. Takagi told MAO he was next and at Sumo Hall Takagi will use fireworks that are 100 times mores powerful!

Antonio Honda got the advantage in the 4 Way Match by giving all of his opponents nipple twisters. Tetsuya Endo grabbed Honda’s hands and made Honda give himself a nipple twister then pinned him with the Torture Rack Bomb.

We’re heading into the final stretch on the road to Sumo Hall. Pretty much all of the card is set and the lead up matches in DDT this month will all be focused on “JUDGEMENT 2018”.

The special rule in the Falls Count Anywhere match involves the Shin-Kiba 1st RING management. All the wrestlers have been asked to behave themselves if the match takes them outside of the venue. If the staff gets angry at any of the wrestlers for what they do outdoors, the wrestlers in question will be disqualified from the match.

Makoto Oishi wants to join T2Hide and become its leader. Most of the group is okay with the first part so he will have to beat Kazuki Hirata to prove his worth.

This show is Ethan Page’s debut in Japan.

9. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) Vs Shuji Ishikawa

I didn’t understand this until recently but Munenori Sawa’s ring name in DDT was changed to Ippanjin Munenori Sawa. The change is because when Sawa retired from pro wrestling he became an “ippanjin” (a normal person). So that’s why whenever he came back to perform on shows he would do so dressed as a salarayman instead of his regular wrestling gear. It will be funny if he stays like this in New Orleans next month.

Miyamoto is already in the Ryogoku Falls Count Anywhere Match at “JUDGEMENT 2018” so he cannot defend the DDT Extreme Title until the next Korakuen Hall show afterwards. Good thing that show is only happening a week later.

Gota Ihashi is going through a five match series to improve himself and show Riki Choshu that he isn’t the worst wrestler ever. I don’t think Choshu cares.

5. Road To Burn The All Asia Tag ~ My Friend Fight The Flames ~ Fuji Specialty! Special Single Match: Danshoku Dino defeated Makoto Oishi with the Gotch Style Danshoku Driver (10:57) (10:57).
6. Konosuke Takeshita, Antonio Honda & Hiroshi Fukuda defeated HARASHIMA, Yasu Urano & Mao Inoue when Takeshita pinned Inoue with the German Suplex (16:55).

After the main event Konosuke Takeshita introduced each member of Happy Motels. He called Tetsuya Endo his good luck charm, said Hiroshi Fukuda has a good singing voice and noticed Antonio Honda was wearing new wrestling gear. Honda said Happy Motels were breaking the iron ceiling and introduced Takeshita as the KO-D Openweight Champion.

Before the can fight for the All Asia Tag Team Titles next week, Danshoku Dino and Makoto Oishi had to fight each other. Dino wanted the match to happen because it would help them discover each other’s feelings. Oishi objected to the match and said he loves Dino but Dino pushed him away. When the match took place Dino came out on top. Oishi took the loss badly and said he was useless. Dino cheered him up and got him ready to win the All Asia Titles!

Yukio Sakaguchi & Masa Takanashi are both ready for King Of DDT. Sakaguchi has won and lost one singles match against Shigehiro Irie so he sees tomorrow’s 1st Round bout as the rubber match. Irie admitted it’s scary when he sees Sakaguchi’s knee coming straight for his face but he will meet the challenge head on so he can win the tournament.

Shunma Katsumata takes the last spot in King Of DDT. Kazuki Hirata approached him after the match first to congratulate him then to warn that he wasn’t going to take it easy. Hirata was icing his shoulder while he was in the ring but promised he would be healed in time for the 1st Round.

With Team Drift now a thing of the past Keisuke Ishii and Soma Takao find themselves on opposite sides. First it was for this opening match and next will be a 1st Round match up in King Of DDT.

0. King Of Dark Title: Gota Ihashi defeated Suguru Miyatake (c) with a Cross Body Attack (4:31).
*D1 for Suguru Miyatake.
1. Yasu Urano defeated Tomomitsu Matsunaga with a Cradle Cutback (8:11).
2. Toru Owashi defeated DJ Nira with La Magistral Cradle (0:40).
2a. Toru Owashi defeated DJ Nira after a failed Suicide Rocket Punch from a human pyramid (5:25).
3. Kota Ibushi, Daisuke Sasaki & MIKAMI defeated Sanshiro Takagi, Devin Sparks & Ric Ellis when MIKAMI pinned Sparks with the Sliding School Boy (11:45).
4. Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie defeated Kazusada Higuchi & Kouki Iwasaki when Irie pinned Iwasaki with the Flying Sausage (12:40).
5. HARASHIMA & Akito defeated Danshoku Dino & Makoto Oishi when HARASHIMA pinned Oishi with the Somato (14:02).
6. KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masa Takanashi defeated Antonio Honda, Konosuke Takeshita & Hiroshi Fukuda when KUDO pinned Fukuda with the Diving Double Knee Drop (18:07).

Makoto Oishi’s mother was in attendance and by her son’s side for most of the show.

Shigehiro Irie was impressed with Kazusada Higuchi’s strength in their preview of tomorrow’s King Of DDT 2nd Round. Irie thinks Higuchi’s power is amazing but he will not let himself be overtaken by the new generation.

Match #3 went outside and featured fireworks being used as weapons. Kota Ibushi also Moonsaulted off of a truck as he is known to do. The Arrogant Bastards were able to hit DEATH FROM ABOVE but MIKAMI won the match out of nowhere with the Sliding School Boy.

After a quick match, DJ Nira and Toru Owashi immediately had a rematch. Nira goaded Amon Tsurumi, Daisuke Kiso, Antonio Honda, Gota Ihashi and Yusuke Kubo to form a human pyramid for him to do the Rocket Punch off of. Nira fell short of his target and got pinned.

Gota Ihashi argued with Amon Tsurumi over him still being in dark matches despite no longer being the King Of Dark Champion. Ihashi beat Suguru Miyatake once more with the Cross Body to prevent the title from transferring back to him.

6. HARASHIMA, KUDO & Yasu Urano defeated Masa Takanashi, Yukio Sakaguchi & Akito when HARASHIMA pinned Takanashi with the Somato (14:54).

The show was lucky to go ahead when snowy conditions around Japan prevented the DDT ring truck from travelling to Shizuoka. Thankfully DDT got a replacement ring from a local promotion called Numazu Pro Wrestling. The Golden Lovers held an autograph session to make up for the show running late while the new ring was being constructed.

Masa Takanashi has not been able to present himself as a strong contender for HARASHIMA and today’s show proved that. The KO-D Champion pinned his next challenger in the main event. KUDO and Yukio Sakaguchi continued their aggressive fighting with each other in the same match.

Today also happened to be Makoto Oishi’s 35th birthday and his mother was in the audience to watch her son team with Danshoku Dino against the Golden Lovers. She got a hug and kiss on the cheek from the Golden Lovers after the match.

As best as I can tell, this is DDT parodying their own BOYZ spin-off brand. Tomomitsu Matsunaga will be the special ring announcer for the show.

The boxing match will be only one round but that round has a 45 minute time limit. Yuzuki Aikawa will be the ring girl.

3. KO-D Tag Team Titles Match: Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega (c) Vs Brahman Shu & Brahman Kei
4. KO-D Openweight Title Match: HARASHIMA (c) Vs Masa Takanashi

DDT’s eternal underdog has gotten himself a KO-D Openweight Title match. Despite a poor record preventing him from earning a title shot normally, Masa Takanashi got his friend Emi Sakura to trick Amon Tsurumi into signing the contract to make the match official.

Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega are going to face a team unlike any other in wrestling today. The Brahman Brothers have terrified many wrestlers, referees and fans alike with their antics. Expect insects, slime and maybe a decapitated animal head or two.

6. HARASHIMA, Masa Takanashi & KUDO defeated Yuji Hino, Yasu Urano & Antonio Honda when HARASHIMA pinned Honda with the Somato (16:07).

Makoto Oishi was the hometown hero today with his mother among those in attendance to watch him wrestle. When Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Keisuke Ishii found out who she was, they embarrassed Oishi by pinching his nipples in front of her while they were on the offensive. Oishi stood tall in the end when he pinned Matsunaga with the Miracle Ecstasy.

DDT received word that they had to pay the Nasu Nature School 300,000 yen for the damage caused by the recent Falls Count Anyhwere match they held in the area. For his match with Gota Ihashi, Sanshiro Takagi added the stipulation that the loser had to pay the fine. Ihashi lost.
