A knee injury has prevented Jada Stone from travelling to Japan so she is no longer able to appear at “WRESTLE PRINCESS VI”. A new opponent is needed for Arisu Endo so she will now face Priscilla Kelly in the match with the vacant International Princess Title on the line. Pom Harajuku has been taken out of the Battle Royal to become Rika Tatsumi’s new opponent. That match will also have special rules applied which will be announced as soon as they are determined.

I don’t know if I can get a preview of the show completed before Saturday. I’ve been feeling under the weather lately which stopped me from writing one. One might be posted on Friday night but don’t take that as a promise.

The full card for “CHARISMANIAxMANIAxMANIA” has been revealed although the match order outside of the main event has not been decided yet. Naohiro Katsumi and To-y both get added to the Togo Family Vs DDT Match, a Gauntlet Tag match dedicated to the still alive Daisuke Sasaki will fill up most of the show. Yasutaka Oosera from Michinoku Pro is teaming up with Ilusion which makes me wonder what the connection is there. We also have the return of Sumicaras in there too.

Super Japan Continues, Is Hiroshi Too Scary for Nakatsu?

Heads up but I will be travelling over the next few days to see some wrestling in London, which includes “FORBIDDEN DOOR”. However it is kind of a light weekend of shows within the DDT circle so there should not be any delay in getting results and writing a report for the Tokyo Princess Cup semi finals on Saturday. I might be able to at post results of tomorrow’s Baka Gaijin + Friends show in the Philippines too. If not then that will be saved for the next DDT Around The World article at the end of the month.

BASARA has a path set towards Halloween for their next big Union MAX Title match. Ryota Nakatsu says he isn’t scared of defending the title against anybody but Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi thinks the champion has been ducking him. Hiroshi has recently formed a quartet with Speed Of Sounds and Gouma Ryu called WizRYU but Ryu isn’t a guy you can rely on for an Elimination Match so Masato Kamino is taking part instead. Nakatsu is relying on Hyakusho Ikki and Takumi Tsukamoto to back him up in the meantime.

So there wasn’t actually plans for Super Japan to last past the first show but Sanshiro Takagi was happy enough with how the launch did to run another event under the name. Yuji Nagata is still his pick to be the ace and he’ll get a far more serious match this time because his opponent is Shinya Aoki! There is a little bit of history here because Aoki defeated Yuji’s brother Katsuhiko Nagata in the DREAM Middleweight Grand Prix back in 2008.

Takagi himself is confident he can make a full return to the ring by the end of the year. However he isn’t sure if he can make it back in time for November’s Sumo Hall show. He also is only currently cleared by his doctor to do light exercises. With that being said, Takagi wants to shake off some ring rust so he will take part in an Exhibition Match with his old tag team partner Munenori Sawa. The bout is only scheduled to have a five minute time limit but Sawa has told Takagi he wants the two of them to go as wild as they can and cause some trouble!

MIKAMI and DJ Nira will be on the show.

Partway through his 30th Anniversary celebrations, Sanshiro Takagi decided to scrap his short lived MatchMake & Agent Pro Wrestling brand in order to create something that can break away from the current restraints of modern wrestling. In its place he looked way back into DDT’s past. When the promotion was first formed in 1997, one of the names suggested for it was Super Japan Pro Wrestling. Now 30 years later Takagi decided to make Super Japan a reality! Not only that but he quickly targeted Yuji Nagata to be the potential ace of the brand. His first idea for Nagata was to go team up with The Brahman Brothers and embrace their style of pro wrestling. Nagata declined at first but was eventually convinced to give it a go. So he showed up to today’s main event in complete Brahman cosplay. He got too into the gimmick he ended up getting himself counted out after just two minutes. Nagata bowed to the other wrestlrs in apology and the two teams agreed to restart the match under Falls Count Anywhere rules.

The Brahmans completely disregarded Nagata in the rematch, drenching him with buckets of water alongside the other team. Daiki Nagai was at ringside as Nagata’s second and he too got caught when The Brahmans dunked a bucket of black ink onto him. Hikaru Sato, Fuminori Abe & Munenori Sawa were then all gathered together for Nagata to pour a bucket of blue ink all over them. He then hit Sawa with a traffic sign and applied his trademark Arm Bar while spewing blue slime out of his mouth for the victory. After the match Takagi got the audience to give Nagata a round of applause. He liked seeing this version of him today but wants to see more of Nagata’s normal self in the future. So he invited someone to the show that he would like to see Nagata wrestle in the future. It was Shinya Aoki! He asked Nagata if he would like to have a singles match and Nagata agreed. It will happen at the second Super Japan show on 14th October.

The launch of Super Japan reunited MIKAMI with TAKA Michinoku. The two men knew each other back when MIKAMI was a trainee for Universal and then Michinoku Pro in the early 1990s. MIKAMI brought out a ladder and tried to do the Volcanic Bomb from it but missed. He then tried to repeatedly pin Michinoku with the School Boy but couldn’t win with it. Insead he was put away with the Michinoku Driver II. MIKAMI talked said he’s done a lot in the last 30 years and thinks it is good to have a treasure trove of interesting matches to look back on. He isn’t clear what the concept of this Super Japan launch is but he’d like to do all sort of things here. Michinoku pointed out they are both in their fifties so they should wrestle each other again when they are over sixty!

For his debut as a wrestler exclusive to Super Japan, Mac Matsushita wrestled in a T-shirt and shorts. It is something completely regular looking compared to his Maku Donaruto alter ego. Naruki Doi forcefully pulled the shirt off him during the match so he could light up his chest with slaps and chops.

A horrifying scene developed during Kuroshio TOKYO Japan’s entrance when Poison Sawada JULIE casted a snake magic spell that made Kuroshio vomit out blood when the match began! Kuroshio was almost counted out but he got back into the ring and used his jacket to deflect some of Sawada’s other spells. He then spat Red Mist at Sawada’s face but Sawada got him back with Green Mist. The two were blinded from the mist but Kuroshio found a microphone and asked if Sawada is him 30 years from now? He challenged him to a headbanging contest but it ended with both men collapsing to the canvas and getting counted out for a Double Knockout.

Rion Mizuki & Riara wanted to raise a toast to the debut of Super Japan but it was just a trick to attack Shota & Mio Shirai while their guards were down. Shirai later got mad at Riara when she stole her Hanging Figure 4 Neck Lock move to use against Shota. Shirai eventually got the win by pinning Riara. Later backstage Shota celebrated by making silly faces and pointing at his head over and over, expecting Shirai to recognize who he was pretending to be.

The next Super Japan show will happen at Shinjuku FACE on 14th October. This was not in Takagi’s plans because he intended the show to be a one and done. However the show today drew a decent turnout so he decided to keep it going for at least a second time. DJ Nira was the first person advertised for the event. Takagi also announced that he expects to start wrestling again at the end of this year. But first he wants to have an exhibition match with Munenori Sawa as his opponent. Sawa told Takagi it’s been a while since Hentai Dai Shacho were scolded for causing so much trouble in a wrestling match. He wants the match to go beyond an exhibition and make it one step too far so they can be scolded again!

The Tokyo Princess Cup now all comes down to Miu Watanabe against Arisu Endo! Watanabe is a little shaken up coming out of the semi final but should be good to go this weekend. An eye injury during the tournament couldn’t stop Maki Itoh from winning the tournament back in 2021 so history is on Watanabe’s side here. Endo is in completely fresh territory as a singles wrestler. She’s won the Max Heart Tournament with Suzume in 2024 but she’s never had a run go this good in the Princess Cup.

It’s been almost three and a half years since Maki Itoh and Yuki Arai fought had their only singles match against each other. Back then it was for the International Princess Title and Itoh won the match. At the time Itoh could see how much potential her opponent had but remained certain she can beat her over and over as time goes by. In the time since that match happaned has Arai been able to put everything together in order to beat Itoh this time?

Two regular guests are showing up to bolster the undercard. Aja Kong is taking part in an 8-Woman Tag Match while Ram Kaichow is among the participants in the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title Battle Royal.

Mizuki Watase’s 10th Anniversary show is now playing more into the summer rivalry between Ganbare☆Pro and FREEDOMS. Watase was warned by the FREEEDOMS side that his work in GanPro is too amateur for him to be prepared for a Lighttube Death Match with Jun Kasai. However he is confident that he can beat Kasai in a normal match so isn’t scared to fight him in a more dangerous environment.

The trainee Sentaro Motoshima has earned his debut spot on the show. He is being added to the rookies match that was already on the card with another extra wrestler to be announced once it has been decided who it shall be. Motoshima was born in Kagoshima on 4th October, 2001. He is 167cm tall and weighs 74kg. He has a background in basketball and volleyball. He also participates in strength training as a hobby.

We have two special Baka Gaijin + Friends shows coming up in August. The first is the brand’s debut in Oji BASEMENT MONSTAR for the second ever “FUCKED UP FEST”. It will be a festival of wrestling and music that when mashed together results in the name of the show. Kota Sekifuda, Gabai Ji-chan and Tatsuhiko Yoshino are among the guest wrestlers taking part.

Sekifuda tweeted that when he made the decision to go leave Big Japan and go freelance, Chris Brookes was the first person who offered him a booking.

K4PY previously wrestled under the name Takahiro Katori. I think it’s just a fairly recent name change like within the last month or so.

The D GENERATIONS lot don’t have to worry as much about the Young Communication on their next show because it is being held in Nagoya. That means several Nagoya based wrestlers will be facing them instead. Only Shota from the Young Communication generation will be there for a match against Yuya Koroku.

This caught my eye. Ryutaro Ono is a 35 year old CEO of five different companies (among them being related to agriculture, a café and welfare for the elderly and disabled) who only just debuted in pro wrestling for Sportiva Entertainment in May of this year. His tag partner for the match is MMA fighter Masanorikanu Watanabe.

Two matches on the East Vs West show will focus on just one side of the country. The East side of Japan offers MAO against Super Sasadango Machine. Not bad. But the West side has come up with the utterly cracked pairing of Jun Akiyama Vs Miyu Yamashita! This is before Akiyama’s KO-D Openweight Title match too so if Yamashita somehow pulls out a victory, or maybe even a draw she may end up having an argument for getting a future KO-D Title shot herself!

A new face has signed an exclusive contract with Super Japan. But his alter ego should be familiar to a lot of people following this space. Mac Matsushita made debuted as a pro wrestler in Mexico but had a run in DDT and the indies as Maku Donaruto. You remember him, the super perverted Ronald McDonald gimmick? Yeah that’s the guy. Well, Sanshiro Takagi has been trying to get him to ditch the mask to wrestle as himself and he has succeeded in convincing him. Matsushita’s return match in Japan will be on the 19th August Super Japan show.

The second Baka Gaijin show of August will be their first time taking the show outside of Japan. Baka Gaijin is heading over to the Philippines as part of a weekend of wrestling put together by Dexcon. The first match announced sees Chris Brookes & Takeshi Masada taking on the local pair of Jake De Leon & Isaiah Valencia.

Nao Kakuta will be at Yoshiko Hasegawa’s graduation show as a special guest commentator. Another special guest will be Teppei Arita, a Japanese comedian who has written several books about pro wrestling and also hosts his own Youtube series about current stories from around the industry. In fact Hasegawa was interviewed on a recent episode that was uploaded last week.

What’s the most chaotic pair of opponents you can find for Chris Brookes & Emi Sakura? How about El Desperado & Maki Itoh! The two originally met in America while working the same GCW show and have been tweeting back and forth for a while about teaming up. Now looks like the perfect time to make it happen. Itoh wants Desperado to learn the Itoh Respect Army dance for their entrance. He didn’t expect that to be part of the deal.

TJPW say a health issue is preventing Max The Impaler from participating at “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’25” so Pom Harajuku needs a new tag team partner. Luckily for her TJPW has decided to bring in Kyoko Inoue as the replacement! The joshi legend currently wrestles for Diana, a promotion that just so happened to join the UJPW recently so I wonder if that new connection helped put this deal together.

A couple of weeks after Despy appears in TJPW he will then show up in BASARA to team with Isami Kodaka. The two of them were specifically put together for Aijin Tag to fight against.

The Grace Group bus company have their own independent wrestling promotion called GRACE PROJECT. They don’t really have their own roster, save for Captain Grace who is the man in charge of the whole thing. Instead their shows are filled with indie wrestlers from across Japan including those who compete in BASARA. So a lot of familiar faces are showing up in their offer match for the show.
