But now that Kasai is champion, the match stipulations could become more violent. He did say he wants to dye the belt in “colour” and given how even the brush of a feather can make him bleed he’s going to fulfil his promise easily.

DDT would like to remind its fans that even though there are a lot of foreign wrestlers in Osaka this weekend, none of them are the Steiner Brothers. So don’t come to this show expecting to see the Steiner Brothers. This cannot be stressed enough, it’s a regular problem at these big shows.

There’s been a trend among the recent Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champions. Whoever holds the belt becomes so paranoid that they cannot get a good night’s sleep. They end up going about their daily business fighting to stay awake which only leaves them more vulnerable to ambushes. What’s worse is some of the wrestlers have become so obsessed over winning the title that they too are sleep deprived and have been approaching the champion in a zombie-like manner. Masahiro Takanashi is the current champion at the time of writing when he put Toru Owashi in a Sleeper Hold on an overnight bus journey to Osaka. However that means Takanashi is currently stuck in a bus with many of his challengers so don’t be surprised if there are more title changes before the show takes place.

BASARA has hosted a bunch of legal trials for Gouma Ryu the last couple of months. These trials which resemble wrestling matches feature Ryu as the defence attorney, Atsushi Maruyama as the prosecutor and an indy wrestler accused of committing a crime. Recently Kyohei Wada has gotten involved as the judge. The people involved have had so much fun doing these trials that they want to do the best one yet in Korakuen Hall.

The beautiful opponents for Bambi & Manami Kanda come from Ice Ribbon. Yumehito Imanari isn’t impressed even though the match was his idea. He likes his women to be bigger than Maya Yukihi & Tequila Saya so he’s rooting for Bambi & Kanda.

The final rounds of the IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT were the focus for today. IRON PRIEST defeated Hiroshi du Soleil in the first semi-final. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & SAGAT apologised for losing the match. Hiroshi said SAGAT would take time off to rest and will return at next month’s Tavern Wrestling show. This was news to SAGAT. In the other semi-final Isami Kodaka & Takumi Tsukamoto defeated Cavalry. In the final Kodaka & Tsukamoto won to become the first winners of the IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT! They were given a giant golden fist trophy as their prize. Kodaka looked at the trophy and admitted it was probably a stupid decision to have this thing made. He then brought up the upcoming BASARA show in Korakuen Hall on 25th December. Every day he is anxious over that show but he is putting forth all his effort to get a sell out crowd. One idea he has is to be a champion. So he and Tsukamoto are challenging Ikuto Hidaka & Hayato Jr. Fujita to an NWA International Lightweight Tag Team Titles match!

Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi interrupted the victory celebrations so he could confront Kodaka. Hiroshi brought up him beating Kodaka to win Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~ back in June. Since then Hiroshi has been undefeated in BASARA singles matches and is currently on a 12 match streak without being pinned or submitted. He thinks that makes him deserving of being a champion. He demanded a championship match. Kodaka didn’t understand until Hiroshi jogged his memory. Kodaka then remembered he still has the Union MAX Championship kept in storage next to the front door of his house! The belt was originally retired on the same night as Union Pro’s final show. They both agreed to revive the championship and have a match to determine the new champion on Christmas Day!

4. Marika Kobashi High School Exam Send-Off Match: Miyu Yamashita defeated Marika Kobashi with the Attitude Adjustment (11:30).
5. TOKYO Princess Of Princess Title: Yuu (c) defeated Rika Tatsumi with the Katahajime (15:15).

Yuu’s first defence of the TOKYO Princess Of Princess Title was successful but proved to be more of a challenge than she thought. Rika Tatsumi had only begun to win matches consistently in the last couple of months, leading to her getting a crack at the title. However she came prepared with her own focus on submissions to combat Yuu’s judo ability. While Tatsumi threw some Hip Attacks to knock back Yuu, she also targeted her leg with Dropkicks and Dragon Screws so she could apply an effective Figure Four Leg Lock. Yuu resisted this and applied the Katahajime for the submission victory. Yuu said she was really happy with the match because it brings her one step closer to defending the title on 4th January, the one year anniversary of her debut match.

Miyu Yamashita defeated Marika Kobashi in Kobashi’s final match for the time being. Kobashi will now prepare for her high school entry exams. Yamashita said she originally thought Kobashi was too young when she first began training due to how tough it is. However she was proven wrong and she is happy to be part of Kobashi’s send off. She then advised Kobashi to concentrate on her exams because they are terribly hard. Kobashi hopes to return if she passes the exams.

There’s been a theme running through all of the DDT family throughout 2016 and it is marriage. A lot of wrestlers and staff members have been getting married or at least engaged this year. Azusa Takigawa has noticed this and also noticed the wrestlers who have gotten married have also become stronger as a result. She interrupted the opening speeches so she could plead with the Genral Manager Tetsuya Koda to drop the “No relationships” rule from Tokyo Joshi Pro. Takigawa wants to go out matchmaking so she can find a husband, get married and become stronger! Koda told her now wasn’t the time to talk about this. Later when Takigawa had her match with Nonoko, Takigawa was put in a Scorpion Deathlock. Instead of reaching for the ropes Takigawa instead reached for a microphone so she could again plead to Koda to drop the “no relationships” rule while she was in the Scorpion Deathlock! After the match Nonoko was impressed by Takigawa’s passion. Not for wrestling but for finding a husband. Nonoko said she was a teenager until just recently (yeah right!) and she never imagined wanting to go matchmaking at Takigawa’s age. She wants to help Takigawa and offered to team with her in the ring. Takigawa accepted, together they will find the truth of love!

Maki Itoh from the idol group LinQ announced she will be wrestling for DDT on 11th December and after that will debut for Tokyo Joshi on 4th January. She is thrilled by her plans to do both idol work and wrestling. She also said she has great respect for Danshoku Dino. It was then revealed that Itoh’s opponent on 4th January will by Miyu Yamashita. According to Yamashita she has been keeping a close eye on Itoh’s training ever since it began back in July. She noticed Itoh has been working very hard so she is happy to be her first opponent in Tokyo Joshi. She asked Itoh to come at her at full force when they wrestle.

The literal doll faced ring announcer and “World’s First Animated Idol Chick” Minami Momochi recently revealed she will be graduating from Tokyo Joshi Pro on 4th January next year. She said over the last three and a half years she watched Tokyo Joshi and their wrestlers grow. She feels now is the time for herself to move on if she too wants to advance.

Sasadango Ill, Kawamura Injured, Shin Ganbare Created

My best wishes go out to Super Sasadango Machine for a healthy recovery. He was taken off last Sunday’s Korakuen Hall show with poor health as the reason. A few days later DDT announced that a check up in a hospital found out he is suffering from a mild heart disease. His physician said rest is necessary and he will not be able to wrestle again until further notice. Some of the card changes as the result of this can be seen below.

The folks at Ganbare☆Wrestling had some time to relax after their successful Korakuen Hall debut but now a familiar threat has returned in new clothing. Osamu Namiguchi suddenly announced this week he is creating his own pro wrestling group called Shin Ganbare☆Wrestling (シン・ガンバレ☆プロレス)! The use of Shin (シン) in this name does not mean “new”, it means “thin” as in “Thin Godzilla” from the new kaiju movie. Namiguchi thinks Ganpuro is fake like Hollywood’s Godzilla but Shin Ganpuro will be pure just like “Thin Godzilla”. Shin Ganpuro’s debut will take place on 12th November in Tokyo BASEMENT MON☆STAR at the same time as the normal Ganpuro’s scheduled show. It will only consist of one match and Namiguchi challenged Ken Ohka & Yumehito Imanari to a tag team match. Namiguchi has a mystery partner for the occasion. Ohka accepted and the match will also technically be the main event of the normal Ganpuro show.

Ken Ohka is feeling flustered after the Korakuen Hall seating chart for this show appeared on screen during Sunday’s DDT show revealing many unsold tickets. Ohka said Amon Tsurumi put that on the screen without his permission. Ohka has promised to retire if the show doesn’t sell out. Not only that but a lot of money was borrowed to put this show together. If that isn’t bad enough their T-shirt design for the occasion hasn’t been completed yet and the DVD team are too busy putting together a Ganbare Vs Tomodachi-gun release so they can’t immediately work on editing the Korakuen show as soon as it ends. Also Yumehito Imanari wants to put his match with Viper on the DVD even though that has nothing to do with the Tomodachi-gun feud.

Fearing a public relations disaster, Dino and some of the senior members of DDT are now scrambling to find a new boyfriend for LiLiCo. Whoever they turn out to be, they must fight for LiLiCo’s love.

Tsurumi accepted the request because he currently has other duties keeping him from finding new challengers.

Yuu thinks Rika Tatsumi has a cute look but that makes her soft. Tatsumi can’t put into words why she thinks she can win the title from Yuu but it isn’t luck.

Two changes to the Tokyo Joshi Pro roster has been announced. First, Marika Kobashi will be taking six months off from wrestling at the end of October. During that time she will finish her junior high school term and then prepare for her high school entrance exam. She is expected to return next spring, either March or April.

Secondly, Yuka Sakazaki will also take a leave of absence from Tokyo Joshi. Due to her recent performances she decided to travel to Magic Country and begin warrior training to become stronger. It is unknown how long this will take. In the meantime Yuka is sending her previously unacknowledged twin sister from Magic Country to take her place in Tokyo Joshi. Yuka’s sister is a masked luchadora named Mil Clown. She cannot speak any human language so she carries a teddy bear called Kumaun to talk on her behalf.
