8. Special 6-Man Tag Match ~ DDT Vs BJW: Konosuke Takeshita, Yuki Ueno & MAO Vs Yuji Okabayashi, Yuya Aoki & Kosuke Sato

Earlier this week Konosuke Takeshita was given the Fighting Spirit Award from Tokyo Sports as part of the annual Tokyo Sports Pro Wrestling Awards. Takeshita finished on top of the category over Jake Lee, El Desperado, YAMATO and Hiroshi Tanahashi. The voting committee, which includes Kenta Kobashi and Masahiro Chono, praised Takeshita for using his excursion to AEW in America back in April to get over the slump he was in for the early part of 2021. He received the majority of votes for achieving the DDT Grand Slam of winning King Of DDT, the KO-D Openweight Title and the D-Ou Grand Prix all in the same year. It wasn’t mentioned by Tokyo Sports but don’t forget he also won the Ultimate Tag League and KO-D Tag Team Titles too. Takeshita thanked his fans for their support and said his next goal is to win the Best Bout Award with a match held in DDT. He promises his title match with former Fighting Spirit winner Yuji Okabayashi will be worthy of the award.

There are many reasons why Hyper Misao has grown to hate The 37KAMIINA. Whenever she sees young people like them having fun it brings back the trauma she went through as a shut-in student. She also wants revenge on them for humiliating her in the Tokyo Dome a few months back. If that’s not enough, she is convinced The 37KAMIINA are only faking their love of saunas for clout. Therefore every member of The 37KAMIINA is evil! She promises to use 8,183 weapons (I don’t understand how but 8183 is a play on “Hypami”) to beat Shunma Katsumata because Katsumata only has 37 (“sauna”) at his disposal. Katsumata denies the accusation of being evil and promises to get rid of the biggest liar in all of Nagoya. He wants everyone to remember that Misao is not a hero!

5. IRON FIST Tag Titles: Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga (c) Vs Ryota Nakatsu & SAGAT

Japanese wrestling and obscure championships from other companies is a match made in heaven. The latest example is BASARA ending up with the CCW Canadian Heavyweight Title in their little corner of the indies. Takumi Tsukamoto won the title back in July but hasn’t defended it yet. Daichi Kazato noticed that and asked for a title shot. The belt itself originally came from a company called Canadian Connection Wrestling. In 1997 the title was won by Shigeo Okumura and brought to Japan to be defended in New Tokyo Pro Wrestling (there was also a CCW Tag Team Championship used by the promotion). The final champion when New Tokyo closed down in 1998 was Bad News Allen. After that the belt disappeared for two decades until former champion Kazuhiko Matsuzaki decided to revive it in 2018. The title bounced around the indies which is how it ended up around Tsukamoto’s waist. He is recognised as the 13th champion and he promises to live up to Bad News Allen’s name.

6. International Princess Title: Hikari Noa (c) Vs Maki Itoh
7. Princess Of Princess Title: Miyu Yamashita (c) Vs Mizuki

Mizuki is feeling the pressure of the big title match. This will be her fourth attempt at becoming the Princess Of Princess Champion. She’s anxious about it but understands she has no choice but to win this time, which means this may be the one for her. Even though Miyu Yamashita has been called a monster inside the ring, she thinks Mizuki is a monster too. She is a monster in rabbit’s skin! Mizuki was shocked to hear that because nobody has ever called her a monster before. A win for Yamashita will be another step towards defending the Princess Title at Sumo Hall next March. She knows she isn’t good against fast moving wrestlers like Mizuki so she is taking proper measures to overcome that weakness.

The purpose of the International Princess Title changes depending on who the champion is. Hikari Noa wants it to be defended in death matches. The latest update in her campaign was a public meeting with Bull Nakano to promote Noa’s first solo CD release “I’m Alive.” Nakano’s advice was you shouldn’t do a death match just because you want to. It’s important to bring about a situation where a death match is required. When there is a scenario where both the fans and the company wants to see Noa in a death match then it will be time to do one. Maki Itoh doesn’t want to see blood anywhere near the IP Title. She thinks the championship exists to be defended overseas. She will be proven right if the belt decides to follow her instead of Noa from now on.

Yuki Arai was another big winner at the Tokyo Sports Awards by winning the Best Newcomer category. The voters praised Arai for her sincere commitment to pro wrestling while also continuing her idol career with SKE48. She is grateful to be recognized by her pears and hopes to deliver more fun pro wrestling in the future. She has two big matches coming up soon. The first one is against Yamashita this Friday then on 4th January she takes on Yuka Sakazaki. They’ve only wrestled each other once before so Arai is really nervous. She still wants to show how much she has grown and enjoy the experience as it happens.

For the third year in a row Shoko Nakajima and Hyper Misao will face each other at the Ittenyon show. Their previous matches on this show involved wacky gimmicks and both ended with the loser changing their name for a month. Misao won it last year and ended up creating a wonderful new friend for a month called Shin Ultra Shoko. Nakajima doesn’t like the rule because when she had to change her name for a month it resulted in memory loss over that period. She doesn’t want to go through that again. She does however like doing the actual matches because it means she gets to turn her toy box upside down. She means that both literally and as a metaphor.

DDT “SWEET DREAMS! 2022 TOUR IN FUKUOKA”, 16/01/2022
Fukuoka Nishitetsu Hall

1. Shishamo Power Debut Match: Shishamo Power & X Vs Akito & Yukio Naya

A sponsorship deal between DDT and the Yamada Suisan fishing company will lead to the debut of a new masked wrestler called Shishamo Power! The president of Yamada Suisan wants to use the power of pro wrestling to get people eating fish so they can become more energetic. The deal starts with Shishamo Power debuting in January and getting another match in February. This will all build up to a show DDT and Yamada Suisan are putting together in March to promote seafood. Shishamo wants to spread shishamo fish across Japan and he will do it using moves such as the Eggs Bomber and the Flying Shishamo. He wants to make an impact in his debut match like Tiger Mask did. The idea is not supported by everyone in DDT though. Yukio Naya, whose father runs a yakitori restaurant, believes the people should eat meat to become strong instead. Akito agrees with him and the two of them offered to be Shishamo’s first opponents. It is now up to Shishamo to find another seafood loving wrestler to team up with him.

1. Miu Watanabe & Haruna Neko defeated Yuki Aino & Pom Harajuku when Watanabe pinned Harajuku with the Tear Drop (9:47).
2. Hikari Noa & Raku defeated Yuki Kamifuku & Mahiro Kiryu when Noa pinned Kiryu with the Blizzard Suplex (9:55).
3. Yuka Sakazaki defeated Marika Kobashi with the Magical Merry-Go-Round (12:00).
4. International Princess Title Next Challenger Decision Time Difference Battle Royal: Maki Itoh defeated Nodoka Tenma with the Itoh Deluxe (20:20).
Order Of Elimination: Nao Kakuta, Rika Tatsumi, Yuki Arai, Hyper Misao, Shoko Nakajima, Suzume and Nodoka Tenma.
5. Miyu Yamashita & Moka Miyamoto defeated Mizuki & Arisu Endo when Yamashita pinned Endo with the Skull Kick (14:03).

The first skirmish between Miyu Yamashita and Mizuki before their Princess Of Princess Title match saw Yamashita as the victor. While Mizuki got some good shots in with the Diving Double Stomp, Yamashita had the last laugh by German Suplexing her and pinning Arisu Endo with the Skull Kick. Yamashita praised Moka Miyamoto for her assists in the match and said she cannot afford to lose against Mizuki. That desperation is motivating her to fight hard before 4th January. She doesn’t know how many more matches she has until then but she will go crazy for every bout. Mizuki likes beating strong opponents and is starting to feel excited. She wants to make Tokyo Joshi Pro a sunny place but she has to get rid of a thunder storm named Miyu Yamashita to do it.

The Battle Royal result must be fate because the International Princess Title is calling out to Maki Itoh. At least that is what she thinks. She gets to challenge Hikari Noa for the title at Korakuen Hall on 4th January. A similar scenario happened at the Ittenyon show two years ago when Itoh was the champion defending against Noa. But this time the roles are flipped. Noa believes she is the best in the world now and she will make Itoh know she is only number two. Itoh says the belt is an international championship, not a deathmatch one so it should belong to her.

Yuki Arai got a little bit of revenge on Rika Tatsumi by eliminating her from the Battle Royal. Tatsumi was standing on the apron after going over the rop rope and Arai kicked her to the floor with a Big Boot.

The random match draw for the 11th December show in Azalea Taisho Hall was held before today’s event began. Some matches of note are a rematch between Nodoka Tenma and Shoko Nakajima, today’s tag partners Yamashita and Miyamoto being drawn against each other and Noa getting a match against Yuka Sakazaki. Endo helped Sayuri Namba with the draw and by coincidence became the last name picked out of the bag. She is in the 3 Way Match with Suzume and Marika Kobashi.

Since Kenta Kobashi will be in attendance to see the D-Ou Grand Prix final, Tetsuya Endo decided to visit him at his gym during the week to get some feedback on his tournament performance. Endo also brought up his plans to create a new unit. He asked Kobashi for advice, citing Kobashi’s experience leading units such as GET and Burning. Kobashi said a unit needs a strategist so Endo’s position would improve if he finds a councilor. Endo immediately asked Kobashi if he could take that role in the unit. Kobashi declined because he is not interested in returning to the ring. He did however invite Endo back to his gym again after the Grand Prix so they could talk more about potential members for Endo’s new unit.

7. Princess Tag Team Titles: Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki (c) defeated Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh when Mizuki pinned Yamashita with the Cutie Special (24:17).
*V1 for The Magical Sugar Rabbits.

The final Korakuen Hall show for the year in Tokyo Joshi Pro saw The Magical Sugar Rabbits retain the Princess Tag Team Titles against 121000000. The battle came down to Mizuki and Miyu Yamashita in the final minutes. Yamashita had Maki Itoh on hand to set up team moves but Yuka Sakazaki was there to get rid of Itoh until she was struck down with the Skull Kick. It was all up to Mizuki from there and she had Yamashita on the ropes after hitting a release Cutie Special. Another Cutie Special this time with the bridge held got Mizuki the win and MagiRabi’s first successful defence in their latest reign.

When the beaten challengers were leaving the ring, Mizuki called for Yamashita to come back. She said she was able to win today with Sakazaki’s help. She also brought up that it’s been a year since she she decided to join TJPW full time. She loves TJPW and wants to carry the company on her back for the sake of everyone who supports her. So although she hates fighting against Yamashita, she wants to challenge her for the Princess Of Princess Title! How could Yamashita refuse? She accepted the challenge and wants the match to happen on the 4th January Korakuen show! Mizuki was warned that the title is not easy to win because Yamashita will never let go of the belt. Sakazaki encouraged Mizuki to commit to the challenge because she is amazing. Later in the night Itoh made a request to Yamashita to put 121000000 on hold for the time being. The team is not splitting up, they are just on a break so Itoh can review her wrestling ability on her own. They will team again when she is ready.

Hikari Noa has broken out of the Up Up Girls hierarchy with her latest International Princess Title defence. She has now beaten both of her Up Up partners as champion and also now has the record for most IP Title defences! Miu Watanabe threw all her best moves including using the Laserbeam to block a Dropkick. Noa had to use the Blizzard Suplex off the top rope to cause the big shift in the match before pinning Watanabe with the regular Blizzard Suplex. One of Watanabe’s favorite idols once said hard work always pays off. The lesson Watanabe learned today is training hard is not the same as working hard. Noa called the match the toughest battle she ever had. The longer she holds onto the belt the more she doesn’t want to let it go. It puts more pressure on her but she isn’t afraid of anything anymore. Which is why she wants TJPW to have a championship that will allow her to have deathmatches! She’s annoyed that Hyper Misao gets to have a Hardcore Match in DDT next month instead of her but she at least appreciates the roster is becoming more open to doing that style.

The rookie Yuki Arai has made it her goal to wrestle against her seniors and do her best against them. That was proven today with her match against Rika Tatsumi. The veteran had the smart gameplan to work over Arai’s leg, forcing the idol to get desperate and risk fighting at a faster pace. But Arai put Tatsumi is danger with a deep Sleeper Hold she wouldn’t let go of until Tatsumi reached the ropes. Targeting the leg then paid off for Tatsumi when she dodged the Finally, took Arai down with a Dragon Screw and made her tap out to the Figure 4 Leg Lock. Tatsumi said by winning through determination she could feel both her own passion and also Arai’s spirit in the ring. She previously talked about being a spark that will cause a big bang and will leave it up to the fans to think if they saw it today. Arai feels a sense of accomplishment despite losing. It was a great experience and one she thinks might change her life. Tatsumi wants to fight her again when she is stronger. She thinks she will still beat her then, of course.

Last week Nodoka Tenma pinned Shoko Nakajima in the 10-Woman Tag match. She wasn’t able to repeat the result here. The closest she came was with a Lift-Up Back Flip but she couldn’t hit the Killswitch when she needed to. Nakajima recovered, hit the Double Arm DDT and won with the Diving Senton.

There was change in roles for Match #3. Yuki Kamifuku hates it whenever Hyper Misao makes new rules for her matches, so she came up with a new match of her own to give her a taste of her own medicine. The Happy Lucky Quiz had Kamifuku and Misao answering trivia questions. The first to get three correct would win. All of the questions were about Kamifuku and her family so the quiz turned out to be heavily rigged in her favour. When Misao started complaining, Kamifuku attacked her and a proper match broke out. Well I say proper but it ended up with both women spraying each other in the face with disinfectant. There was a scramble for pins and Kamifuku got the three count in the end with a Crucifix style cradle.

A rare result happened early in the show. Haruna Neko directly won a match! Maybe she’s finally figuring out how to put it all together. Yuki Aino, Nao Kakuta, Raku and Mahiro Kiryu did their things while Neko fought off Pom Harajuku. Neko rolled her way into hitting the Nekodebreaker to get the three count.

The Run-Up Bulldog Headlock is quickly becoming an effective finisher for Marika Kobashi. She was in trouble going against Suzume & Arisu Endo’s teamwork but Moka Miyamoto stood up to keep the match level. Suzume got rid of Miyamoto with a Facecrusher but Endo could not seal the deal on her own. That was when Kobashi pulled out the Bulldog for the victory.

3. Hyper Misao defeated Arisu Endo with the Hypami Returns (8:02).
4. Yuki Kamifuku & Raku defeated Suzume & Haruna Neko when Kamifuku pinned Neko with the Famouser (9:36).
5. Miyu Yamashita, Maki Itoh, Nodoka Tenma, Miu Watanabe & Yuki Arai defeated Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki, Hikari Noa, Shoko Nakajima & Rika Tatsumi when Tenma pinned Nakajima with the Killswitch (26:51).

Several of the big matches for next week’s Korakuen Hall show crossed together in the 10-Woman Tag Match. After a long fight mixing together the different pairings, Shoko Nakajima made the crucial mistake of missing the Diving Senton. That allowed Nodoka Tenma to pin her with the Killswitch. After the match Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh both spoke of their intentions to win the Princess Tag Team Titles from The Magical Sugar Rabbits. Yamashita said she was only focused on fighting Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki today. Miu Watanabe vowed to beat Hikari Noa for the International Princess Title. Tenma & Yuki Arai also laid down their claims to beat Nakajima & Rika Tatsumi in their respective singles matches at Korakuen.

We finally got an admission of guilt from Hyper Misao. She is a superhero who cheats! She promised to fight Arisu Endo fair and square because she was confident she would not be outmatched against her. That lasted for about five minutes. Misao lost ground to Endo and pulled out her spray can but Endo grabbed it and sprayed her instead. However Misao was still able to recover and win in the end.

Pom Harajuku spent most of the 3 Way Match carrying an expensive high grade camera. She insisted taking pictures of Marika Kobashi and Mahiro Kiryu as if it was just those two against each other. Kobashi was happy to pose for her while Kiryu was confused. Harajuku tried her best to protect the camera but doing so cost her the match with Kobashi getting the win over her.

6. D-Ou Grand Prix 2021 II – A Block: Tetsuya Endo (6) Vs Yuki Ueno (4)

On an interview with Yahoo Japan today, Tetsuya Endo talked about the potential D-Ou Grand Prix final. He is confident he will beat Yuki Ueno because Ueno has already fought all of the biggest opponents in their block and is damaged coming into this match. However Endo is not going to let his guard down and is aiming for the win. He can qualify for the final with a draw but Endo wants to win. He doesn’t like either Konosuke Takeshita or Yuji Okabayashi but would rather face Takeshita in the final to make it clear he is better than him.

Endo wants to end 2021 on a high note because he has a big plan for 2022. He wants to launch his own unit! Endo has been part of Happy Motels and DAMNATION but has never been a true leader of his own stable. He had a one off trial run with Pheromones at the Tokyo Dome but it wasn’t for him (he was happy showing off his butt though). Instead, Endo has his own ideas. He is temporarily naming this unit Atsumare Entetsu no Mori and as an insect lover he wants the logo to look like a beetle. The potential unit will have three ironclad rules: 1) Do not gamble or play pachinko. 2) Do not drink every day. 3) Aim to get married. Endo already lives by these rules and think they give him a fulfilling lifestyle. He has begun looking for candidates to join his new group.

2. LEC Cleanpa! Presents Ganbare☆Climax 2021 Special Tag Match: Ken Ohka & Taison Maeguchi Vs Keisuke Ishii & Shinichiro Tominaga
3. Ganpro Special Mixed 6-Man Tag Match: Yuna Manase, YuuRI & Nobuhiro Shimatani Vs Moeka Haruhi, HARUKAZE & Baliyan Akki

5. LEC Cleanpa! Presents Ganbare☆Climax 2021 Semi-Final: Shuichiro Katsumura Vs Tatsuhito Takaiwa
6. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title – LEC Cleanpa! Presents Ganbare☆Climax 2021 Final: X Vs X

The Ganbare☆Pro regulars still left in the Ganbare☆Climax have been hard at training for the final rounds. Shuichiro Katsumura held a practice session with Ken Ohka and Minoru Fujita to work out how to beat Tatsuhito Takaiwa. He figured Fujita knows him well and would be a good instructor. Unfortunately Fujita came to practice in a bad mood because he spilled coffee over his hoodie on the train ride over. Also Ohka isn’t able to copy Takaiwa’s moveset so Katsumura easily countering all of his attacks doesn’t mean much. An angry Fujita told Katsumura that Takaiwa won’t be that easy and he cannot take him lightly. Katsumura left the training disappointed that he didn’t come out of it with a proper gameplan.

Meanwhile Yumehito Imanari spent his training learning how to resist the Lariat. Tetsuhiro Kuroda used that move loads of times to beat Ohka in the previous round. He called up Miss Mongol with the logic that learning from an FMW wrestler will help him beat another FMW wrestler. Mongol’s husband Akinaga Toyomoto attended the training as an observer. Imanari endured dozens of Lariats until Toyomoto pointed out that Mongol was using her right arm. The training might not be very helpful because Kuroda Lariats with his left arm. Mongol said it doesn’t matter because Imanari is being infused with the souls of FMW. If Imanari makes it to the final, he promises to fight even if his stamina is gone. He is determined to become the first Spirit Of Ganbare Champion!

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “ALL RISE ’21”, 25/11/2021
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Shoko Nakajima Vs Nodoka Tenma
2. Hyper Misao Vs Yuki Kamifuku
3. Yuki Aino, Raku & Pom Harajuku Vs Nao Kakuta, Haruna Neko & Mahiro Kiryu
4. Marika Kobashi & Moka Miyamoto Vs Suzume & Arisu Endo
5. Rika Tatsumi Vs Yuki Arai
6. International Princess Title: Hikari Noa (c) Vs Miu Watanabe
7. Princess Tag Team Titles: Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki (c) Vs Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh

121000000 understand the big task ahead of them. The Magical Sugar Rabbits have been champions twice and hold the record for most title defences. Yamashita thinks her bond with Itoh is strong enough to help them win. Itoh is skeptical and made Yamashita declare her love for her to prove she really wants to win the tag titles. Yamashita also wants to avenge her loss to Mizuki at the Tokyo Princess Cup and is hoping the match comes down to them against each other one on one. Mizuki likes her because it is the easiest to fight with. She also knows full well how strong Itoh has become. But she thinks their flippant bond isn’t enough to beat her and Sakazaki.

Although they trained and debuted together at the same time, Hikari Noa and Miu Watanabe came from different roads. Before they became wrestlers Noa always loved pro wrestling while Watanabe didn’t know a thing about it. Watanabe says it is because of Noa that she worked hard and earned success in Tokyo Joshi Pro. Little by little she is turning her efforts into confidence. Noa said they are aiming for the same place but following their own paths. She will achieve the record for most International Princess Title defences if she wins.

Yuki Arai has her first singles match in a long time which makes her nervous (she’s only had three singles bouts so far). She wants to show her growth against a strong senior like Rika Tatsumi. It’s a big deal, even Tatsumi will tell you that. She believes pro wrestling is a projection of her life and she has changed a lot of people’s lives. Her examples include preventing Hyper Misao from retiring and inspiring Suzume to become a wrestler. She wants this match to be a big bang that will change Arai’s life! How Arai will change is up to her. Tatsumi is just the spark in this situation.

4. D-Ou Grand Prix 2021 II – B Block: HARASHIMA (0) Vs Yuji Okabayashi (7)
5. D-Ou Grand Prix 2021 II – B Block: Konosuke Takeshita (7) Vs Kazusada Higuchi (4)
6. D-Ou Grand Prix 2021 II – A Block: Tetsuya Endo (6) Vs Yuki Ueno (4)

The last day of the group stages is coming down to the wire in both blocks. If Tetsuya Endo wins the main event or it ends in a draw then he qualifies for the final. I think if Yuki Ueno wins he will go straight to the final because he will get the Head To Head tiebreakers over Endo and Yuji Hino. Where it gets confusing is if Jun Akiyama or Bodyguard also wins and we end up with a four way tie. I guess it would still be Ueno because he will have two Head To Head wins in this bubble and the others will just have one. Does that come into effect with Bodyguard thought because he already beat Ueno? Oh my head hurts.

The B Block is more simpler. The race is between Konosuke Takeshita and Yuji Okabayashi who are both unbeaten. If they still end up with the same points after their matches then a sudden death tiebreaker must take place. Their previous match was a draw so there is no other way to determine who goes through (I think there was a G1 that used total match times as a tiebreaker one year but we’re getting too far into the weeds at this point).

Kenta Kobashi and Tetsu Inada will be at the show. Maybe they can figure out the tiebreakers.

The feud between Sanshiro Takagi and Pheromones is reaching extreme levels. A team was needed to take on Takagi, Atsushi Onita & Kuro-chan in the Current Blast Death Match so the challenge was thrown out for Pheromones to put the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles on the line!

Last time Toru Owashi invited a DRAGONGATE wrestler over to a DDT show in Nagoya it worked out pretty well. He’s doing it again by booking Susumu Yokosuka to team with him and Kazuki Hirata. Bet Yokosuka is thrilled, we all know about his dancing efforts. This will be his first time in DDT proper if you ignore the Dramatic Dream Gate shows from 2007 and 2008.

6. Miyu Yamashita & Yuki Arai defeated Shoko Nakajima & Arisu Endo when Arai pinned Endo with the Finally (14:31).

Today was Yuki Arai’s big return home to Kyoto. She made her day even better off winning in the main event by giving Arisu Endo the Full Nelson Buster and then pinning her with the Finally. Then to cap it off, Arai challenged Miyu Yamashita to a singles match in Nagoya on 18th December. The two have previously talked about doing that match and today was Arai’s official challenge. They agreed that Arai has improved since the last time they were in the ring together in Nagoya. Yamashita warned Arai that she will show her no mercy as long as they fight. Arai admits she isn’t ready to be involved with any championship matches yet so her interest is just in fighting Yamashita.

3. Princess Tag Team Titles: Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki (c) Vs Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh

The trios time limit draw at the last show has left both Hikari Noa and Miu Watanabe wanting more against each other. Watanabe asked Noa for a singles match and Noa is willing to put the IP Title on the line for it. She has defended the title against Raku already so if she beats Watanabe then everyone can agree that Noa is the best of the Up Up Girls!

The Rika Tatsumi Vs Yuki Arai match that was originally meant to happen in August is now taking place in November. Arai is looking forward to it but Tatsumi slapped her across the face.
