We’re around the halfway point of the D-Oh Grand Prix. It’s too early to predict how the A Block is going to go. The B Block is a different manner. If Yukio Naya beats KANON then only MAO can potentially compete with him for the spot in the final. Rei Saito can also catch up on points but Naya already has the tiebreaker advantage over him. It’s a must win for KANON to remain in the race. Chris Brookes is teetering on the edge while Kazuki Hirata is the first wrestler who is already mathematically out of the tournament.

Before the year ends Tokyo Joshi Pro has a surprise gift for everybody. They recently recorded a Street Wrestling match held inside the Hakkeijima Sea Paradise aquarium in Yokohama. Twelve TJPW wrestlers were split into two teams for the competition and the winners received “luxery prizes”. The participants were Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki, Rika Tatsumi, Shoko Nakajima, Hyper Misao, Nao Kakuta, Miu Watanabe, Raku, Suzume, Arisu Endo, Yuki Arai and HIMAWARI. The video is being shown on Wrestle Universe as a PPV.

A new challenge is coming to Ganbare☆Joshi. This year saw the launch of a new women’s wrestling group called Evolution. Three women debuted as pro wrestlers with Suwama from All Japan helping oversee the project. One of the three recently retired due to injury but the other two have kept at it and will soon visit GanJo. Chi Chi gets the bigger challenge by being put in the main event against YuuRI. The other match has the eye-catching ZONES taking on Riara.

Yuu returns to GanJo for the first time since 2020.

Both YuuRI & Riara have been developing a sister-like relationship with Sumire Natsu in GanJo throughout this year. Let’s see how the three can work together as a “family” against HARUKAZE, Makoto & Banny Oikawa.

Over the weekend SCHADENFREUDE International made it known they want to fight for the dormant KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles. They even have Mecha Mummy with them to be the fifth member of their team. The titles still belong to The 37KAMIINA & Shinya Aoki despite not being defended since June 2022. The match is booked for 5th January but DDT found out Aoki is currently unavailable because he is busy training for an MMA fight against Sage Northcutt. Luckily the championship has a rule where the champion team can temporarily replace up to two members and still be eligible to defend the titles. For this match Aoki is being replaced by Yoshihiko! For statistical purposes, should the champions win it counts as a successful defence for Aoki not Yoshihiko.

There seems to be no stopping Isami Kodaka’s run through the Ganbare☆Pro roster. His latest challenger for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title today was Shota. The challenger came into this match promising fans he would win the title and become the new protagonist of GanPro. In a match that saw Kodaka kick out of the Gannosuke Clutch and the Frog Splash, Shota was still finding ways to win. Kodaka landed on his back with the Diving Double Knee Drop and turned it into a Bow And Arrow Lock when Shota wriggled his way out of it and laid on top for a pin. However Kodaka rolled Shota over and pinned him down for the three count to retain the title.

Shota accepted the result. His own career feels like it has reached over 100 volumes just like One Piece but he still hasn’t become strong enough to beat Kodaka. It’s a bit unfair but Shota cannot deny that Kodaka is still the protagonist. Kodaka said that is the number one reason why people hate him. Shuichiro Katsumura entered the ring and told Kodaka it doesn’t matter who the protagonist of this story is. He is here to take the SOG Title back to GanPro! He cannot stay quiet any longer after seeing his friends lose to Kodaka one by one. He is the only one left so he wants to face Kodaka in a title match at Korakuen Hall on 27th December. Kodaka accepted, knowing that if he wins that match he is guaranteed to stick around in GanPro next year. After all, the SOG Title is his passport to remain in GanPro whether he is wanted here or not.

Katsumura now has a chance of becoming a double champion by the end of the year. He & Takuya Wada are still the Spirit Of Ganbare Team Team Champions after the defeated Keisuke Ishii & Munetatsu Nakamura. The challengers were fired up, Nakamura in particular. But the youngest wrestler on the GanPro roster was too eager and he accidentally kicked Ishii in the head when he aimed for Katsumura. He then got taken down and pulled apart into submission. Later on Katsumura apologised to Wada for going ahead and challenging Kodaka because that means there will not be a SOG Tag Title match on 27th December. Wada told him not to worry because he already has an idea of what else he can do on the show and it involves a particular challenge from another promotion. More will be explained below.

Ken Ohka had two months to start growing his hair back but he was still looking to get revenge on DoiKuma. He had another brawl against the team this time with Mizuki Watase as his partner. Unfortunately it ended in defeat again with Koji Doi pinning Watase while Kuma Arashi threw Ohka into rows of chairs outside the ring. Ohka still wanted to fight Arashi after the match and challenged him to a singles bout on the 27th December Korakuen show. Arashi wasn’t interested because it would just be another easy win for him. He eventually changed his mind but only if the match is done on his terms. If Arashi wins then he gets title shots for both the SOG Title and SOG Tag Titles. Ohka instantly accepted, only just realising what he agreed to when he calmed down. Doi then promoted an independent show he and Arashi are running together on 4th December. He wants Wrestle Universe to promote it too because it is being financed with DoiKuma’s own money and they don’t want to go bankrupt if it flops.

The mixed tag match was Banny Oikawa’s entry into GanPro that’s been promised to her all year while she wrestled on Ganbare☆Joshi shows. It was also Dan The Dad’s return match in Japan. He communicated with Oikawa & Tyson Maeguchi by taking out a pen and telling them “This is a pen”. It is a common basic phrase Japanese people learn when taking English lessons. The friendly gesture took a life of its own when HARUKAZE stole the pen and soon had everyone fighting over it. When that was done with, Oikawa took out Soma Takao and Dan pinned Shinichiro Tominaga with a Backpack Stunner that is also called “You’re Grounded”.

During the opening speeches it was announced that GanPro has invited GLEAT to take part in an inter-promotional challenge on 27th December at Korakuen. When Yumehito Imanari won his match against Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi, he threw his name into the hat because he has already wrestled on several GLEAT shows this year. If there is anyone who is responsible for inspiring the “GxG Collaboration” it is him! He then called out Kaz Hayashi to come to the show because he’ll be waiting for him. Later on, Takuya Wada said he wanted to take part in any GanPro Vs GLEAT match too.

Also during the show Michiyoshi Mishima announced that Yoshiko Hasegawa Vs Arisu Endo will take place on 27th December. Hasegawa submitted to Endo at “WRESTLE PRINCESS IV” in October and hasn’t forgot about it. She said GanPro wrestlers always get back up after losing and she wants to show Endo that kind of spirit in her home promotion. She is looking to get a complete victory against Endo when they meet again.

Danshoku Dieno’s team has been spending time together in preparation for their match against Sanshiro Takagi’s squad. The latest meeting had Dieno, Yoshitatsu & Yoshihiko go visit MMA fighter Hideo Tokoro’s gym to learn some new techniques. Yoshitatsu has been friends with Tokoro since childhood and Tokoro also got along with Dieno when he found out they are all 46 years old. Tokoro tried to teach them submission holds by using Yoshihiko as a training dummy. He then showed Dieno a way to apply multiple submissions at once by demonstrating a Cobra Twist and Muffler Hold combination. Dieno failed to apply the combination to Yoshitatsu and was scolded for not taking the training seriously.

Suddenly Takagi, Akito & Makoto Oishi barged into the gym. They heard from the media about this session going on and told Dieno that training with Tokoro for just a few minutes isn’t going to work. Dieno disagreed but Akito reminded him he is currently in a slump. Oishi said he will make sure Dieno won’t even make it to Sumo Hall and he suddenly attacked him. However all of a sudden Dieno outwrestled Oishi and successfully applied the submission combination he tried earlier while also reaching over to touch Oishi’s groin. This caused Oishi to submit while in great pain. Takagi, Akito & Oishi then fled from the scene. Dieno announced he is naming his new submission move the Danshoku Fantasy. Tokoro was surprised at how quickly Dieno learned the move. Dieno explained that people tend to get stronger when they are backed into a corner. He is in a slump and adversity was the key for him to break out of it.

Dieno then invited Tokoro to give pro wrestling a try. Tokoro declined, saying he would have to start off as a trainee. Dieno pointed out that DDT is unlike other wrestling companies. As long as you are willing to put your life on the line then you can step into the DDT ring. He told Tokoro the possibility will always be there if he is interested.

Kodaka has the slight edge over FUMA after he pinned him with a Japanese Leg Roll Clutch yesterday. A flash pin from moves like that or the Samson Clutch is a danger that FUMA needs to watch out for.

The IRON FIST Tag Team are now shared between a BASARA wrestler and a DDT wrestler. Kazusada Higuchi for now has to bounce back and forth between the two promotions while representing the Harimao stable with Ryota Nakatsu. Their first title defence is against Speed Of Sounds and will be held on the same day as a DDT show. However Higuchi made sure that none of his D-Ou Grand Prix matches are taking place that day so he can concentrate on defending the belts without having to worry about his tournament run at the same time.

Two of BASARA’s younger wrestlers have each been given challenging opponents in an effort to make them step up and progress further. Lil’ Kraken grew up watching videos of The Great Sasuke and would love nothing more than to surpass the legend. Takato Nakano steps into the ring to fight Yuko Miyamoto. The match seems to be held under normal rules but if Miyamoto wants to make it hardcore, who is going to tell him no? Nakano would take on that challenge if he had to.

No matches announced yet for Abdullah Kobayashi and Hideyoshi Kamitani. They were already announced for the show along with Leo Isaka.

With only two weeks to go until Saki Akai’s retirement, this week she begun a busy schedule of final appearances across wrestling. Today she was in the main event of Ganbare☆Joshi along with Takumi Iroha taking on the home team of YuuRI & Yoshiko Hasegawa. The GanJo side attacked Akai from the get go and brought her up to the entrance to make sure all the attention was on them. They even got Riara and Yuna Manase to get involved with their own attacks while Akai was held back. Iroha tagged in to let Akai catch her breath. YuuRI & Hasegawa did their best as a team together but were soon overtaken by their opponents. Akai & Iroha hit YuuRI with a Sandwich PK. Akai then made YuuRI submit to the Triangle Choke while Iroha held Hasegawa in a Rear Naked Choke.

After the match Akai told the fans she got a last minute call from GanJo to do this match and she was honored to fight against everyone here today, including Riara. She described GanJo as being very sparkly and flashy on the outside but muddy on the inside. That is her favorite kind of pro wrestling. Hasegawa said the difference between the teams was too much but she hopes she & YuuRI can close this gap and become wrestlers that Iroha would want to fight again. YuuRI then gave Akai a rose as a gift to represent her beautiful passion. She told Akai to continue shining as a beautiful rose after her wrestling career ends.

Until today Yuna Manase’s “sister” Ami Manase hadn’t been seen around these parts since August. She returned to GanJo today to team with Alex Lee. The team were victorious against Sumire Natsu & Echika Miyabi. Natsu used her whips for an advantage while Miyabi focused on power moves. Lee took both of them out at the same time with a Double Flying Clotheslines. Manase then took over and pinned Miyabi with a Diving Senton.

Later this month Banny Oikawa finally achieves her goal of getting booked on a main Ganbare☆Pro show but before that she had to face Marika Kobashi here. She focused on using kicking moves but Kobashi got the better of her by using the Front Neck Lock for the win.

Riara already tasted defeat earlier in the show when she lost to Ram Kaichow. She got a nearfall with a Facecrusher but Kaichow pulled out the Onryo Clutch to get the win in the end.

1. GanJo Three Major Singles Match: Tomoka Inaba defeated Riara with the Leg Killer Hold (10:43).
2. Nanami & Miran defeated Alex Lee & Banny Oikawa when Nanami pinned Oikawa with the Northern Lights Suplex (9:11).
3. GanJo Three Major Singles Match: Suzume defeated Yoshiko Hasegawa with the Ring A Bell (11:00).
4. GanJo Three Major Singles Match: Sumire Natsu defeated YuuRI with the Yoran (16:13).

The three women currently representing Ganbare☆Joshi were each given a challenging singles match on today’s show. In the main event YuuRI couldn’t get past Sumire Natsu’s unsportsmanlike wrestling style. Natsu spat water in YuuRI’s face, threw her into a row of chairs and attacked her with her rose whip. Daisuke Kiso got caught in the crossfire for that last one. YuuRI tried fighting back but was cut off with a Shining Wizard and Double Arm DDT before Natsu won with the Yoran.

Yoshiko Hasegawa suffered a defeat to Suzume after her attempts to ground the high flyer just wouldn’t work. With Arisu Endo watching on from her corner, Suzume overcame Hasegawa’s attacks to her legs to catch her with a Flying Facecrusher and then get use the Ring A Bell for the three count. Hasegawa was left to stare at Daisy Monkey in defeat.

The third match sadly ended in another loss for GanJo, giving the group a clean sweep of losses against the outsiders. Riara brought the fight to Tomoka Inaba outside the ring but was thrown down the entrance stage steps for her troubles. Back in the ring Riara focused on using the Ankle Lock but Inaba used her own submissions to fight back and win by tapout.

The 0-3 result left YuuRI in distress after the main event. The new generation that was supposed to protect GanJo failed to do so. Yuna Manase entered the ring and told YuuRI that she just has to win next time. It’s okay to cry but she shouldn’t be looking down on herself. You can always lose today and win tomorrow.

Manase then called Banny Oikawa down to the ring and asked her why does she want to join Ganbare☆Pro? Oikawa said she wants to have a match with the person who made her want to join pro wrestling but that person is a man. Since GanPro does intergender matches she believes joining the group will help make her dream come true. Manase called it a wonderful dream and told Oikawa she does not need to rely on Miyako Matsumoto to get booked here. GanPro has a show on 23rd November and Michiyoshi Mishima has already agreed to book Oikawa on the show. Oikawa is excited by the news and promised to have a new costume ready in time for that show.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that the latest Ganbare☆Joshi show was an Ice Ribbon event in disguise. The main event saw YuuRI successfully defend the ICEx∞ Title for the first time by beating Ami Manase. The masked opponent tried to use her sister Yuna Manase’s finisher, the Suzuki Dynamic but YuuRI countered it with a roll up. She then kicked out of a Lariat and built up momentum to pin Manase with the Swanton Bomb.

After the match Ibuki Hoshi entered the ring and declared she is going to win the ICEx∞ Title by the end of the year in order to become the new face of Ice Ribbon. She is happy to see YuuRI do her part as champion to get Ice Ribbon more attention but Hoshi would rather see her be the ace of her own promotion instead. YuuRI disagreed, saying she intends to become Ice Ribbon’s superhero as well as GanJo’s. She accepted the challenge and the two agreed to have their title match at Ice Ribbon’s next Korakuen Hall show on 26th August.

Sumire Natsu & Riara got to have a little bit of fun together when they teamed up for the first time. They messed with Maya Yukihi by pouring champagne over her head, tying her up in the Paradise Lock and posing over her. But Alex Lee took out Natsu with a Super Kick and Yukihi pulled Riara into the White Out to earn a submission victory.

In a match that Yoshiko Hasegawa was looking forward to, she lost to Sayaka Unagi. Afterwards Hasegawa admitted she is now firmly in the No. 2 position when it comes to GanPro so her goal now is to fight and become No. 1! Unagi encouraged her, saying that she too hasn’t been able to win her important matches even one time. It does not matter if you are strong or weak as long as you fight for your life with everything you have. That’s why Unagi has made her own goal of beating the likes of Minoru Suzuki, Atsushi Onita and Ken Ohka! Then once she’s done with that she will go find Sakura Hirota and have a match with her.

Since Match #2 was an Ice Ribbon offer match, it was held under their ruleset. That means no countouts and double team moves are permitted regularly when called out beforehand.

Looks like Banny Oikawa isn’t ready to be called up to Ganbare☆Pro just yet. Miyako Matsumoto defeated her in the opening match.

Yuna Manase announced that the middle show for GanPro September tripleshot in Oji BASEMENT MON☆STAR will be the first Ganbare☆Meeting Business Trip. Instead of matches the middle show will feature a talk show held by Manase, YuuRI & Riara. Then HARUKAZE will hold a life counseling session for any wrestlers on the roster looking for advice. Finally Isami Kodaka and Shinichiro Tominaga will be part of a contract signing for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title match taking place later on the third and final show of the day.

On the last show Riara formed a new bond with Sumire Natsu and asked if they could team up. Natsu’s answer at the time was non-committal but as we can see here it’s going to happen after all. Their match has another NOMADS’ connection because Maya Yukihi is one of the opponents. Alex Lee takes the last spot in the match.

If Miyako Matsumoto is capable of bringing Banny Oikawa back to pro wrestling she is capable of getting rid of her too. Just a warning if she gets any crazy ideas.

As Ganbare☆Joshi begins to grow, so too does YuuRI’s success at winning matches. She scored a significant victory today by beating her old JTO classmate Misa Kagura in the main event of the latest GanJo show. With this momentum, YuuRI will be heading over to Ice Ribbon tomorrow to challenge Totoro Satsuki for the ICEx∞ Title. She told the fans she is going to win the title in the afternoon and then show up at the evening’s Ganbare☆Pro show as a champion! Backstage Kagura said she is aiming to win the ICEx∞ Title this year too. She will win it from YuuRI!

A Super Kick & Death Valley Bomb combo from Asuka & Makoto put Ami Manase down for the count. This may also be the last time we see Marika Kobashi in GanJo for a while because she is visiting England in August to spend the rest of her summer studying.

Yoshiko Hasegawa Vs SAKI was a match between two former wrestlers who made their starts in Actwres girl’Z. SAKI won the match but Hasegawa refused to shake her hand afterwards. She explained backstage that shaking hands like that would end her story with SAKI. She wants to get stronger and face SAKI again to keep that story going. When SAKI heard that was the reason, she asked if she can bring in wrestlers from her Color’s unit to turn this situation into a promotional rivalry against GanJo.

One of of Ice Ribbon’s former wrestlers returned to the ring at this GanJo show. Banny Oikawa had her comeback match teaming with Miyako Matsumoto, the woman responsible for convincing her to enter GanJo. Sadly Oikawa’s big return was spoiled by Cherry & Alex Lee. Cherry used her Sakuran Bokari submission hold to make Oikawa give up and lose the match. Still, Oikawa is committed to the return and announced she will be back in GanJo for their 11th August show. She wants to work her way up to GanPro so she can wrestle in mixed gender matches.

In a battle of the night life hostesses Sumire Natsu defeated Riara. The match consisted of Natsu pouring a bottle of champagne over her opponent and also attacking her with a whip until the referee stopped her. Natsu knocked the ref down but that led to Riara grabbing the whip and using it to fight back. However Natsu regained control of the match and pinned Riara with the Shining Wizard. Then after the match Riara unexpectedly asked Natsu if she wanted to form a tag team together! Natsu didn’t give her a straight answer. Instead she said pro wrestling and the entertainment business both value connections so they will meet again some day.

Yuna Manase appeared at the beginning of the show, thanking the fans for making up the biggest attendance yet for a GanJo show.
