After the main event Tetsuya Endo talked about the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake because this weekend was the 8th anniversary of the disaster. On that day, Endo was having his school graduation ceremony. When he stood waiting at the Sendai train station when the earthquake alarm suddenly began. The centre of the station’s ceiling collapsed and he ran away. He wondered if this was reality because it felt like he was in a movie as he ran. It was a horrible experience but now eight years later he is able to wrestle in Miyagi along with the rest of DAMNATION. His point was that human beings are strong, both those in the ring and those who came to see the show today.

Tsuyoshi Kikuchi allegedly wasn’t in the venue in time for his match so Sanshiro Takagi’s new partner was Sendai Bean (Kikuchi doing a weird Mr. Bean imitation). However during the match Sendai Bean went missing and Kikuchi reappeared to take part in the match, despite still wearing the Sendai Bean costume. The Hardcore Tag match saw Takagi put both MAO & Mike Bailey through a table with a Diving Body Press, the return of the Dramatic Dream Cycle, plenty of broken plastic cases, MAO giving Takagi a Michinoku Driver onto a ladder and a Cannonball 450° through a plastic case. MAO apologised to the fans for the sudden decision to make this a hardcore match without any explanation.

Bull James joined in with Antonio Honda’s Gongitsune story after he accidentally tripped over him and hurt himself the same way Honda always does.

Match #2 looked like it was going to have no ending when Keisuke Okuda threatened to snap Kazuki Hirata’s glasses in two. Hirata ran off scared and Okuda chased after him. They reappeared in the next match and accidentally interfered in the contest Toru Owashi and Makoto Oishi were having. After more shenanigans, Okuda and Owashi both pinned Hirata and Oishi with School Boys at the same time to win their matches.

Nakazawa Is All Elite, No Seriously He Is, March Korakuen Double Header, Star Lanes Finale

The next month is going to be very busy for me but a lot of fun too. I’m travelling to Germany this weekend for the annual wXw 16 Carat tournament. Given the amount of stuff happening in-between the wrestling shows (eating, bowling, visiting the Shellakabookie, seeing if Order #109 has still not been picked up at McDonalds, etc.) this blog won’t be updated again until next Tuesday. If anything crazy happens in DDT I’ll be sure to tweet about it once I find out. Shigehiro Irie is in the tournament and I wouldn’t rule out a strong run from him this weekend especially since wXw is one of the places that is heavily pushing him in Europe. Once that is done it will be time to prepare for New York. But let’s get to that later.

As revealed on this week’s episode of Being The Elite, the newest AEW signing is Michael Nakazawa! Although the news was played for comedy on the show, this is a sneaky good signing by the company. Nakazawa will most likely be working as the go-between for AEW and whatever Japanese companies they will be working with, DDT obviously among them. Kenny Omega and Sanshiro Takagi haven’t been shy with their public comments about AEW and DDT working together beyond Yuka Sakazaki’s upcoming match. Nakazawa also has links to wrestling in other parts of Asia so that could open up some unexpected talent scouting there too. But before all of that can happen, DDT wants to say farewell to one of its most unappreciated talents. And what better way to send Nakazawa off than to have five people beat him up for our entertainment. Hiroshi Yamato is being included because he wants a place to sell his collection of short stories he wrote and nowhere else will let him do it.

A choreographer named Lucky Ikeda was supposed to be on the show. However in his placed is his “masked friend” Furitsuke Kamen. His role is to teach everyone Pro Wrestling Exercises. He created this so fans can relax whenever pro wrestlers take the action out of the ring and have a brawl in the audience. Kazuki Hirata isn’t convinced that this form of exercise is better than his style of dancing. He and Makoto Oishi agreed that the losing team for their match will have to do the other team’s dance or exercise.

Bull James thanked Kazusada Higuchi for teaming with him today. He wants Higuchi to team with him again anytime. Higuchi replied that he doesn’t understand English at all. James also praised Konosuke Takeshita and thinks he can go wrestle all over the world.

All the DAMNATION members at ringside celebrated when Soma Takao beat Akito. Takao was critical of The Moonlight Express for wrestling at K-DOJO instead of DDT today (The Express successfully defended the STRONGEST-K TAG Titles against Dinosaur Takuma & Kotaro Yoshino). He wonders if that means The Express hates Hiroshima. If so then the anger of Hiroshima’s citizens will follow Takao and help him destroy MAO & Mike Bailey!

Two more movements happened with the Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Gauntlets. Kota Umeda defeated Yuki Iino to take the Yellow Gauntlet. Umeda notices all of the younger wrestlers his age have been joining up in the different units lately while he has stayed independent. Umeda thinks he is better off on his own. That way he can keep his momentum going while competing with the rest of his generation. Yoshihiko won the Blue Gauntlet with some help from his handler Makoto Oishi. When Kazuki Hirata noticed how much help Yoshihiko was getting from Oishi, Hirata aimed for Oishi instead. Oishi fought back, hit the Miracle Ecstasy and threw Yoshihiko on top for the pin.

Naomi Yoshimura had to be held back from starting a fight with DAMNATION after their match.

Although Rey Paloma was defeated, he lifted everyone’s spirits up by dressing Yukio Sakaguchi up in his entrance clothes while his music played.

The show began with ALL OUT giving the opening speech until DISASTER BOX interrupted them. Yuki Ueno said that he and Naomi Yoshimura went to a time limit draw with Konosuke Takeshita & Akito in Shinjuku last week. HARASHIMA is also the DDT Extreme Champion. That means the three of them deserve a KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match today. Akito asked what would happen to ALL OUT’s match with the Sendai Girls if they lose. Ueno told him he doesn’t care. Akito refused the challenge but Takeshita reminded him of his goal to defend his championships outside of Tokyo more often. Hisaya Imabayashi told the teams that title matches need to be endorsed by the GM Tetsuya Koda but he is currently travelling on one of the company coaches with the Tokyo Joshi Pro roster. Suddenly Koda appeared and he told everyone he changed his travel plans and will take a late night bus home. He also agreed to changing the main event into a title match.

It was a close match but ALL OUT squeaked by with the win when Takeshita blocked Ueno’s Casadora and pressed him down with the pin. After the match, Yuki Iino told Takeshita he isn’t going to cash in his Right To Challenge Gauntlet today. He then performed a Haka victory dance for the fans.

It’s all going downhill for Daisuke Sasaki. He lost his match again today this time to Mike Bailey. Sasaki was on the top rope while Mad Paulie distracted Bailey. But Bailey stopped Sasaki and hit the Flamingo Driver to win. All Sasaki can think about nowadays is losing. Even when he sleeps he is losing in his dreams. He thinks he is old as a grandpa too. Soma Takao tried to get him to focus on their KO-D Tag Team Titles match but nothing seems to get him out of his current state.

Antonio Honda Vs Maku Donaruto went the way of your typical Danshoku Dieno match. Honda accidentally blinded Daisuke Kiso with the Gongitsune poke. Donaruto hit the McFly Swanton Bomb but Kiso couldn’t count because of his eyesight. Donaruto grabbed Kiso and decided that dry humping him would somehow solve the problem. Honda grabbed Donaruto and tried to stop him but it only made the situation worse. The match had to be called off because of this.

Bull James is happy to wrestle in Japan for the first time and wants to be in a bunch of matches with a variety of styles. For his DDT debut things started off a little rusty when James needed to sit down on a chair after being tricked to run the ropes over and over. Tomomitsu Matsunaga tried to take advantage but James was able to Hip Toss him as he stood up off the chair. Matsunaga used his strength to Body Slam and Lariat the American but James fired up, hit a Corner Splash and then the Doink Drop to win.

The first Right To Challenge Gauntlet transfer took place in the opener. Kazuki Hirata used Yuni to give Makoto Oishi a Hurricanrana then he piled on top of them to get the pin.

Yukinori Matsui made some announcements for his 25th Anniversary show on 26th May. Kikutaro Vs Kuishinbo Kamen will take place with Matsui as the referee. He said this is the first time in five years that match will happen with him involved. Shigehiro Irie will also be wrestling on the show.

The DDT fans have been asked to tweet ideas for rules and match stipulations for the DDT Extreme Title bout between HARASHIMA and Muscle Sakai under the hashtag #エクストリームのルール考えました. HARASHIMA will pick his favourite idea on 11th March. Sakai apologises for the current state of the pro wrestling world because a man like him can qualify for a championship match without having any skills or previous achievements. But when he watched HARASHIMA wrestle Shinya Aoki in Sumo Hall he was inspired by what he saw and became determined to challenge the winner no matter what.

Daisuke Sasaki is falling down the well and falling hard since he lost the KO-D Openweight Title. He just lost a match clean to Makoto Oishi for cripes’ sake! He is now so down in the dumps that he believes his wrestling career is coming to an end and he will have no choice but to leave Japan in shame. But before he goes he wants to make some final happy memories to keep him company so he and Soma Takao are challenging The Moonlight Express for the KO-D Tag Team Titles.

The Sendai Girls are coming back for a shot at redemption and also the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. They failed to beat ALL OUT for the belts last July and the result has been festering inside Meiko Satomura all this time. She wants to take out her frustration on Konosuke Takeshita most of all. DASH Chisako is along for the ride again but this time the third member of the team is Chihiro Hashimoto! She too is holding a grudge with Takeshita because an enemy of Satomura is an enemy of hers too!

Speaking of redemption, finally Gota Ihashi will face Riki Choshu again inside the ring! For over a year Ihashi has worked tirelessly on his fitness and his pro wrestling to make up for an embarrassing performance he had while teaming with the legendary Choshu. All his hard work is leading up to this match.

Yuka Sakazaki has been chosen by Miyu Yamashita to be her next challenger for the TOKYO Princess Title. Yamashita’s goal is to get at least 10 title defences in her current reign. She is currently on 8. She also wants this match to happen before Sakazaki travels to America for her AEW debut.

Aja Kong, Mika Iwata and Rina Shingaki will all be on the show.

It’s about bloody time they’re doing this match! In January 2018, Jiro Kuroshio defeated Takeshita in a non-title match as part of the first D-Ou Grand Prix tournament. Normal wrestling etiquette suggests that a rematch with the KO-D Title on the line would come out of it. That never happened. Well a year has passed, Takeshita is the champion again and now the match is happening as part of Takeshita’s plan to defend the KO-D Title against a wider variety of wrestlers. But there is something that could happen to make the match even more interesting. Kuroshio is challenging T-Hawk for the WRESTLE-1 Title on 21st March. If Kuroshio wins and becomes champion then the match with Takeshita may become a double title match!

Isami Kodaka and Takumi Tsukamoto will be on the show so BASARA can be a part of DDT’s final event in Hakata Star Lanes.

The “JUDGEMENT 2019” main event rematch, the Weapon Rumble rematch, Tokyo Joshi Pro representation, a Rumble for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title and Danshoku Dieno crosses paths with Joey Ryan again. There’s even a RENEGADES reunion with Shigehiro Irie & Jason Kincaid. The North American talent announced so far have all been established in DDT too.

The Shuten-dōji unit will be taking a break from each other after this show. KUDO is taking an indefinite leave of absence from pro wrestling so he can recover from a list of different injuries he’s been living with. He has nerve paralysis in his left eye, a lumbar hernia and suffers from dizziness from time to time. His doctor told him the best treatment is to take rest. KUDO promises he will return to the ring eventually and even apologises if this only turns out to be a short break and he quickly returns.

With KUDO out of action, the rest of Shuten-dōji agreed to call it a day as a group. Yukio Sakaguchi and Masahiro Takanashi will be going their separate ways as wrestlers. They will face each other one on one to celebrate the end of Shuten-dōji for now. KUDO meanwhile will team with his old partner HARASHIMA to take on the reunited Suicide Boyz for this special occasion. This will be MIKAMI’s first match for DDT in over three and a half years.

1. Northern Hemisphere Ikemen No. 1 Decision Battle: Mike Bailey defeated Mizuki Watase with a Left High Kick (9:09).
2. Toru Owashi & Naomi Yoshimura defeated Jason Kincaid & Antonio Honda when Owashi pinned Honda with La Magistral Cradle (12:07).
3. HARASHIMA, Kazuki Hirata & Yuki Uemo defeated MAO, Shunma Katsumata & Space Monkey when Hirata pinned Monkey with the Miracle One Shot Cradle (9:01).
4. Soma Takao, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie defeated Tomomitsu Matsunaga, Kota Umeda & Keisuke Okuda when Takao pinned Matsunaga with the Official Endless Waltz (13:26).
5. Everyone’s Makorin Is 40 Years Old! Kasumigaura Specialty Special Single Match: Makoto Oishi defeated Daisuke Sasaki with the Grand Cross 200 (13:31).
6. Konosuke Takeshita, Akito & Yuki Iino defeated Yukio Sakaguchi, Masahiro Takanashi & Kazusada Higuchi when Akito submitted Takanashi with the Perfect Figure F4 Leg Lock (21:43).

What an upset, Makoto Oishi beats Daisuke Sasaki! Oishi targeted Sasaki’s legs and that proved to be very effective. When Oishi put Sasaki in the Jikiden Tornado Clutch he transitioned the hold into a Grand Cross 200 knee submission and to everyone’s surprise Sasaki gave up! Sasaki admitted backstage that he gave up because his knees hurt. It’s essential in life to know when to give up and today Sasaki thought it was best to do just that. He has become very pessimistic lately and believes he will be a loser forever.

Oishi however is now as confident as he’s ever been. He was worried that Sasaki would beat him today and take his Right To Challenge Gauntlet. Instead Oishi tapped out the former KO-D Openweight Champion! With a new sense of pride surrounding him, Oishi entered the ring after the main event and approached Konosuke Takeshita. He then walked past Takeshita and left the ring, acting like he wasn’t going to do anything. Now that the Right To Challenge Gauntlets are active the mind games have begun.

Akito closed out the show since he is the most familiar with Kasumigaura. He was born in Nagoya but went to high school in Kasumigaura for three years. He said he is happy to be in DDT and he is happy to be in ALL OUT with Konosuke Takeshita, Yuki Iino, Shunma Katsumata, Space Monkey (heading home after today) and Diego (wrestling over in Chile). He came here today as one third of the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions. He hopes to come back next time with a singles belt too.

The rest of DAMNATION are doing ok. At least they won their match. Tetsuya Endo was going to speak after they won but he passed the microphone to Soma Takao. Takao didn’t want to say anything so he handed the microphone back to Tetsuya Endo. Endo then gave it to Mad Paulie and left the ring. Paulie thought for a moment and just said “Cue Case”.
