*V3 for Young Communication Generation.
5. Toru Owashi & Yukio Naya defeated Soma Takao & Mad Paulie when Naya pinned Paulie with the Back Drop (8:29).
6. DAMNATION Vs DDT Sauna Club!: Tetsuya Endo & Daisuke Sasaki defeated Yuki Ueno & Shunma Katsumata when Endo submitted Katsumata with the Modified Yurikamome (12:39).
7. Special 8-Man Tag Match: CIMA, T-Hawk, El Lindaman & Shigehiro Irie defeated Jun Akiyama, Makoto Oishi, Hideki Okatani & Yusuke Okada when T-Hawk pinned Okatani after the AKACHOCHIN (15:49).
8. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Kazusada Higuchi & Yukio Sakaguchi (c) defeated Konosuke Takeshita & MAO when Higuchi pinned Takeshita with the Brain Claw Slam (22:12).
*V2 for Eruption.

The DDT Sauna Club’s momentum has been cooled down like a cold shower after today’s show. Eruption threw their best shot at Konosuke Takeshita & MAO after a frustrating trend of bad results against them and this time stood victorious. The KO-D Tag Team Champions almost blew it when Kazusada Higuchi accidentally hit Yukio Sakaguchi with a Lariat. But they recovered when Higuchi caught MAO from a Moonsault and threw him into the God’s Right Knee from Sakaguchi. Takeshita tried to fight off Higuchi until he too got hit with the God’s Right Knee. Higuchi then went for his big moves until he got the three count with the Brain Claw Slam.

Eruption celebrated their title defence and encouraged Higuchi for his KO-D Openweight Title shot next month. Sakaguchi then called out for their next challengers to appear. HARASHIMA entered the ring and told Eruption that he and Yuji Okabayashi were always meant to be next in line for a title shot. Are Eruption ready for Smile Pissari? Sakaguchi called it an interesting match and Higuchi said he will do it anytime. Hisaya Imabayashi assured both teams the match will happen but he needs to talk with Big Japan first to decide when Okabayashi can come back to DDT. After he left, Saki Akai made sure that her partners weren’t injured. She then said Eruption will do their best to main event the next time DDT holds a big event in Nagoya.

The return of #STRONGHEARTS to DDT saw them clash with Junretsu and CIMA couldn’t resist trolling Jun Akiyama and Yusuke Okada over their previous home promotion. A few days ago CIMA won the AJPW World Jr. Heavyweight Title and he flaunted it in front of Akiyama & Okada. In return Akiyama showed off the KO-D Title to CIMA. In the match itself, Shigehiro Irie stepped up to Akiyama while El Lindaman wiped out Okada & Makoto Oishi with a Topé Con Hilo. Hideki Okatani was left isolated and picked apart until T-Hawk pinned him. Akiyama showed respect to CIMA after the match by handing him his title and shaking his hand. CIMA then taunted Okada with the belt. In his backstage comment afterwards, Akiyama said he is well aware that he hasn’t won a match since becoming the KO-D Champion.

The Sauna Club’s other defeat on the show was against DAMNATION. When Daisuke Sasaki and Yuki Ueno faced off, Sasaki was able to avoid the WR. Tetsuya Endo eventually made Shunma Katsumata submit but he isn’t interested in chasing after the DDT Extreme Title. Instead he wants the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. Still, he thinks champions shouldn’t lose so it’s a bad look for Katsumata.

DAMNATION were trying to get all over their opponents in Match #5. Nobuhiro Shimatani kept getting involved by distracting Yukio Naya and aiding Mad Paulie. Then Soma Takao threw a chairshot but Naya ducked and Paulie got hit instead. Toru Owashi used his Lucha skill to throw Shimatani & Hiroshi Yamato out of the ring. When things went back to normal, Naya beat Paulie in the heavyweight battle and got the win for his team.

Young defeated old in the KO-D 6-Man Tag Titles match. The DDT Legend Army saw their chances go up in smoke when HARASHIMA went for the Somato but Akito pulled Danshoku Dieno in the way and made him take the Somato right in the butt. Kazuki Hirata got rid of HARASHIMA while Shota did a Frog Splash on Dieno and then did a dive into Sanshiro Takagi. Akito finished Dieno off by putting him in an Anaconda Vice with a Lip Lock also applied to get the submission win.

After the match, Akito said the Young Communication Generation may not be able to rewrite the history of DDT that their opponents today built but instead they made a new folder for them to create new memories and records in. DAMNATION entered the ring declaring themselves the next challengers. It will be Endo, Takao & Yuji Hino will get a title shot on 14th March.

Hino doesn’t have to worry about Yuki Iino for the time being. He beat him fair and square with the Fucking BOMB and as seen above has already moved on from this feud. Iino however swears that one day he will beat Hino and he will do it with the Spear!

Match #2 was briefly turned into a Handicap match when Antonio Honda’s fake knee injury was so convincing he had to be taken out of the ring on a stretcher. Akai had to fight the NEO Itoh Respect Army on her own but her scream for help was answered by Honda coming to the rescue. He then tripped and hurt his knee again. Maki Itoh created her own Gongitsune to flirt with Honda’s version of it until Akai broke them up. In the end Chris Brookes caught Honda in the Octopus Stretch, making him give up.

In the opener, Shimatani thought Toui Kojima’s name was Oshima. He and Yamato took out Keigo Nakamura with the Double Sliding X, leading to Yamato winning with his finisher.

6. DDT Extreme Title – Kids Room Death Match 37 (Sauna) Count Edition: Shunma Katsumata (c) Vs MAO

The DDT Extreme Title will be defended in a Kids Room Death Match. Fitting given how much Shunma Katsumata and MAO act like kids whenever they fight each other. You can win with a normal 3 count but you can also win when all of your 1 and 2 counts add up to a total score of 37 (which in Japanese kind of sounds like Sauna). No rope breaks are allowed and weapons are permitted except those considered by the referee to be particularly dangerous.

Yuki Ueno and Yusuke Okada have to be split apart and put on opposite teams again.

We’re down to four teams: NEO Biishiki-gun, HikaShio, 121000000 and Kyoraku Kyomei. Ever since Sakisama returned to Tokyo Joshi Pro for her latest campaign, Sena Shiori has been a regular opponent for her in what has been a one sided feud so far. The other side of the bracket involves two teams both with massive momentum behind them.

The teams will now consist of 11 participants instead of 12 because Maki Itoh has a scheduling conflict and cannot be on the show. I have no inkling of what the schedule clash is so you’re not getting any speculation here. Team White is captained by Rika Tatsumi and Team Red has Shoko Nakajima as their captain. A lottery will determine who from the roster will be on which team. Each match has a 5 minute time limit and 2 Count pins. If the time expires then 1 Count sudden death overtime begins to determine the winner. The team with the most wins at the end gets the Genghis Khan Kirishima prize voucher.

3. Chris Brookes & Yusuke Okada defeated Yuki Ueno & Toui Kojima when Okada pinned Kojima with the Fisherman Buster (13:24).
4. Shunma Katsumata & MAO defeated Yukio Sakaguchi & Yukio Naya when MAO pinned Naya with a Two Person Cradle (12:36).
5. The Mountain Of Akagi Is Only Here Tonight! Maebashi Specialty Special 6-Man Tag Match: Tetsuya Endo, Soma Takao & Yuji Hino defeated HARASHIMA, Kazusada Higuchi & Antonio Honda when Hino pinned Honda with the Fucking BOMB (12:40).
6. Junretsu Vs ALL OUT!: Konosuke Takeshita, Akito & Yuki Iino defeated Jun Akiyama, Makoto Oishi & Hideki Okatani when Iino pinned Okatani with a Diving Hip Drop (15:55).

It is two days before DDT visits Nagoya for their second big event of the month. ALL OUT and the DDT Sauna Club are in tune for their matches this Tuesday. Konosuke Takeshita was happy with his performance against Jun Akiyama today but he isn’t turning his sights away from winning the KO-D Tag Team Titles. Compared to yesterday, Yuki Iino was a little bit calmer and he also added a Diving Hip Drop to his moveset because he thinks hitting the Spear is no longer enough of a guarantee to finish off his opponents. He hasn’t come up with his own name for it yet.

MAO & Shunma Katsumata outsmarted Yukio Sakaguchi in an unusual way. MAO used a cradle hold to pin Yukio Naya and with Katsumata’s assistance, trapped Sakaguchi on top of himself to add extra weight pressing down on Naya’s shoulders for the three count. MAO now has no doubt that he and Takeshita will win the KO-D Tag Titles from Eruption. He will win the championship and become a hero! He also said if Katsumata beats him in their upcoming DDT Extreme Title defence that does not mean Katsumata becomes a hero too.

Yesterday Yusuke Okada challenged Yuki Ueno for the DDT UNIVERSAL Title. They were meant to team up today but agreed to be on opposite teams after the title match was confirmed to happen on 14th March.

Kazuki Hirata was meant to team with Mizuki Watase but the match switched to being a 3 Way after Watase’s injury. Hirata still wanted to cause a revolution in Maebashi so he demanded to fight Toru Owashi & Danshoku Dieno in a No DQ Handicap Match instead. Hirata was in danger from being outnumbered but received unexpected help from the ring announcer Inoue Mic. He wanted to join Hirata’s revolution and offered his pair of glasses to Hirata after Owashi threw the Hirata GO! glasses away. Hisaya Imabayashi also joined in the revolution and gave his glasses to Hirata for him to dance. Hirata was then rolled up by Dieno for the three count. Hirata apologised for his failed revolution but Imabayashi encouraged him to try again next year. Hirata was then carried to the back on the shoulders of Imabayashi, Inoue and Keigo Nakamura.

3. Yusuke Okada defeated Keigo Nakamura with a Figure 4 Leg Lock (8:56).
4. DAMNATION Vs ALL OUT!: Yuki Iino & Shunma Katsumata defeated Yuji Hino & Mad Paulie by Countout (8:28).
5. DAMNATION Vs Junretsu!: Tetsuya Endo, Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao defeated Jun Akiyama, Makoto Oishi & Hideki Okatani when Takao pinned Okatani with the Diving Foot Stomp (14:24).
6. Road To NAGOYA! Special 6-Man Tag Match: Konosuke Takeshita, MAO & Yuki Ueno defeated HARASHIMA, Yukio Sakaguchi & Kazusada Higuchi when Takeshita pinned Sakaguchi with the German Suplex (17:33).

The main event was DDT Sauna Club’s warning to Eruption. The finish saw Konosuke Takeshita give Kazusada Higuchi a Last Ride Power Bomb then he would break out of Yukio Sakaguchi’s Sleeper Hold to pin him with the German Suplex. He told the both of them afterwards it’s been a long time since the Sauna Club got to show off their true colours. MAO chipped in that this match is the result of all his strength and he is only going to get stronger. The Sauna Club promise that every member will be holding a title belt in Nagoya next week.

Yuki Iino went on a warpath because he can’t keep his emotions in check around Yuji Hino. The two brawled around ringside leading to Iino hitting Spears on Hino and Mad Paulie. Iino then lost control and hit his own partner Shunma Katsumata with a Lariat before entering the ring in time to win by countout. Iino grabbed the microphone and shouted he will crush Hino in Nagoya! Backstage Iino explained that when he went into a rage, everyone looked like Hino to him and he just wanted to scream at a high place.

Everyone knows Yusuke Okada wants to face Yuki Ueno for the DDT UNIVERSAL Title so he didn’t want to waste any more time and threw out the challenge. Ueno politely said he’s been waiting for somebody to grab his attention. He’s happy to see Okada do that. Okada has a lot of respect for Ueno but he hates him for being better looking. Their title match will happen in Korakuen Hall on 14th March.

The generation feud between the DDT Legend Army and Young Communication Generation continues. Sanshiro Takagi directed traffic by lifting up Akito in the Spicolli Driver and holding him there for Danshoku Dieno to Lip Lock him. After the Driver, Dieno then put Akito in the Danshoku Killswitch position and waited for Takagi to give him a Stunner for extra damage. The prone Dieno pinned Akito and Takagi gave Shota a Stunner after the match.

The DDT Extreme Title Match between Katsumata and MAO on 28th February will be a Kids Room Death Match 37 (Sauna) Count Edition. Katsumata wants the ring to be like a kid’s playroom so anything that is not considered dangerous can be used as a weapon. The goal is to either win with a 3 count pin or have enough 1 and 2 count pins to reach 37 counts in total (3 = san, 7 = nana). Katsumata wants to move beyond MAO so he can reach the next step. MAO just wants to “Destroy Shunma Katsumata!”

Akito announced the main event for the 3rd March BOYZ show is a 5 Vs 5 Gauntlet Match between the New BOYZ Army and the Old BOYZ Army.

4. Special Single Match: Tetsuya Endo defeated Hagane Shinno with the Shooting Star Press (14:59).
5. Special Tag Match: Daisuke Sasaki & Hiroshi Yamato defeated HUB & Yasutaka Oosera when Sasaki submitted Oosera with La Mistica Cross Facelock (19:41).

Daisuke Sasaki revealed it’s been eight and a half years since he last got to wrestle with HUB which is why he invited him to be in the main event today. He now wants to have a singles match against him. HUB said he would take that challenge anytime. He also mentioned he met up with Sasaki’s mentor Dick Togo last month. Sasaki told HUB there is still 10 months left this year for them to have their match. He gave a show closing speech until Mad Paulie handed him a can of beer along with a note. Sasaki read the note out loud “Charisma, long story, music start.” Then Shuji Ishikawa started singing “Make You Happy” by NiziU while Paulie and Tetsuya Endo danced along to it.

Backstage Sasaki mentioned today’s show is the start of his retirement tour. The one that is going on until 2080. Hiroshi Yamato didn’t know that. Actually it might be shorter, Sasaki said the he only has around 30 years left. A singles match against Yamato is another match Sasaki wants to do on the tour.

Endo bounces back from losing the KO-D Openweight Title by beating Hagane Shinno. It was a match made by Sasaki that Endo approved of. A rare meeting of the two wrestlers that gave Endo a fresh start. Endo said Shinno’s style is similar to Makoto Oishi because of the leg targeting, which he hates. On the other hand, Hagane didn’t understand why Sasaki wanted this match to happen. To him it was a match that Endo would win 99 times out of 100 and he couldn’t figure out how to get that 1 win today.

Today is Yasu Urano’s 45th birthday!. His present was wrestling a bunch of other 45 year olds. Ishikawa gave him a cake while Toru Owashi and Tanomusaku Toba popped festive crackers over him. Urano said he still feels like a kid. In fact all the wrestlers here still act like kids. He then joked that Ishikawa was a late bloomer and it’s all going to go downhill for him now.

Akiyama Joins DDT, Max Heart 1st Rounds, Watase Injured, Ueno Can’t Decide

February 15, 2021

Today a press conference was held by CyberFight to give some big news for DDT and NOAH. On the DDT side, Jun Akiyama has signed a one year full time contract with DDT. On the NOAH side, Keiji Muto has signed a two year contract with NOAH. President Sanshiro Takagi said the signings were made because he believes these two treasures will be the driving force behind CyberFight becoming No. 1 in the pro wrestling world. Takagi originally asked Akiyama to join DDT back in January after having conversations with All Japan at the end of last year. Akiyama held off on making a deal because of his knee surgery and asked to wait until after “KAWASAKI STRONG 2021” to make a decision. As soon as the main event was done and the show was over, Akiyama accepted Takagi’s offer to become DDT’s head coach. Akiyama knew of the risks involved and wants to put everything he has into DDT. Naomichi Marufuji believes Muto’s starpower is important to help make NOAH become a global company. He also has a strong sense of responsibility towards the company after becoming the GHC Heavyweight Champion. Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. KO-D Openweight Title: Jun Akiyama (c) Vs Kazusada Higuchi

There are only two wrestlers who have beaten Akiyama in DDT so far. Tetsuya Endo and Kazusada Higuchi. Akiyama got his win back from Endo yesterday and he won’t consider himself a deserving KO-D Openweight Champion until he avenges his embarrassing defeat to Higuchi. So that’s the main event of the 24th Anniversary show set.

There has only been one person who has given backlash to Akiyama’s coaching in DDT. Danshoku Dieno doesn’t like the way Akiyama sees pro wrestling which is understandable given how much Dieno has represented DDT in the past. Akiyama welcomes the criticism and invites Dieno to show him his point of view. But he also warns that as head coach he won’t let members of the roster rebel against him just for the sake of it.

8. KO-D Openweight Title – Yanekabe Presents: Jun Akiyama defeated Tetsuya Endo (c) with the Modifed Sternness Dust α (31:11).
*Tetsuya Endo fails in V4. Jun Akiyama becomes the 76th KO-D Openweight Champion!

The first “Big Match” show for DDT in 2021 took place in Culttz Kawasaki where fans got to see Jun Akiyama climb back up to the summit and become the new KO-D Openweight Champion! With Kenta Kobashi watching from ringside, Akiyama defeated Tetsuya Endo to avenge the D-Ou Grand Prix loss to him back in November. Endo’s plan was to target Akiyama’s surgically repaired knee to immobilise him. Akiyama had to throw big moves like Piledrivers and different Suplexes to wear down the champion in return. Endo kept kicking out of Exploder Suplexes including one from the top rope. He went high risk with the Shooting Star Press but missed, giving Akiyama the opening to hit his Knee Strikes. Endo kicked out once more this time from the Wrist-Clutch Exploder. It took an open leg Sternness Dust α to finally put Endo down and out to cause the title change.

Kobashi presented Akiyama with the KO-D Title after the match. He wanted to wrap it around his waist but Akiyama refused him. Akiyama said Endo was the best and he was only able to beat him by a small margin today. He doesn’t know if he could do it again, so he is going to borrow this championship for a while. Endo shouted he will get it back and then left. Akiyama then said he cannot wear the title around his waist until he beats the other DDT wrestler he lost against in the Grand Prix. He wants his first defence to be against Kazusada Higuchi! Akiyama then referenced the WRESTLE UNIVERSE servers going down during the main event and joked about using Danshoku Dieno’s anal server to power it back up (that will be explained below).

In order to prepare for his DDT UNIVERSAL Title defence, Yuki Ueno went to train Jiu-Jitsu under Shinya Aoki so he could learn how to defend himself from Yukio Sakaguchi’s Sleeper Hold. The game plan he put together was to take out Sakaguchi’s left arm and strike first with counters. That was how he cut off the God’s Right Knee with a Dropkick. Sakaguchi wouldn’t die though even when Ueno gave him the WR. Sakaguchi instead tried to shake it off and go straight for the Sleeper Hold. But Ueno’s training paid off and he reversed the submission, choking out Sakaguchi until the match was stopped. Sakaguchi was woken up by medical staff and still had the power to hand the belt over to the champion. Ueno told him he doesn’t have any unpleasant feelings towards him. He was a little luckier today but little by little he is improving. Ueno then said in a few years time he wants to be as cool and scary as Sakaguchi is.

Yuki Iino made a triumphant return by leading ALL OUT to victory over DAMNATION. He immediately gave a Spear to Yuji Hino at the start of the match. ALL OUT all piled on top of Iino and Mad Paulie which was then broken up by a Diving Elbow from Daisuke Sasaki. A challenge of strength took place between Konosuke Takeshita and Hino when they both did Double German Suplexes to wrestlers on both teams. A ladder was bridged from the ring to the commentary table and Hino threw Shunma Katsumata onto it. Sasaki hit Iino with a chairshot behind the referee’s back but Iino shrugged it off and fought back. He got rid of Sasaki with a Lariat and then dropped Hino with a Back Flip. Paulie came in for a fight but missed the Reverse Splash. He kicked out of the Spear at one so Iino revved up for another Spear and that one got the three count. Iino and Hino had a staredown afterwards to hype up their singles match on 23rd February in Nagoya. Another story coming out of this match was Sasaki’s comments backstage. He said his goal for 2021 is to make Takeshita join DAMNATION! When ALL OUT heard that, Akito said he will make Soma Takao join the Young Communication Generation in return. Takeshita then joked that Mad Paulie will join the DDT Sauna Club.

If there is anything I will give Yukio Naya credit for, it is for getting into shape. He’s making good progress with losing weight in a bid to get into better in-ring condition. He still had a very difficult task today going with Higuchi up to fight against Smile Pissari. Naya came close to victory when he gave HARASHIMA a Back Drop. But it all fell apart when he charged right into a Somato. HARASHIMA got the space he wanted to recover and hit a second Somato for the win. HARASHIMA was happy to team with Yuji Okabayashi again and they may now have a claim to challenge for the KO-D Tag Team Titles.

The spirit of 90’s Michinoku Pro was felt throughout the Special 6-Man Tag Match. Super Delfin had a new era Delfin Gundan in the form of Chris Brookes & Maki Itoh going against the Tohoku trio of MAO, Keigo Nakamura & Mirai Maiumi. Itoh entered wearing a Gran Naniwa costume and mimicked the late wrestler’s moveset, doing Naniwa’s Crab Walk on the ropes spot to set up the Flying Big Head finish. Delfin said this match happened a day after an earthquake happened in the Tohoku region, almost a decade after the 2011 earthquake. He hopes it will be safe enough for them to do a rematch over there some day. Brookes said it was a dream come true to team with Delfin because he is a cornerstone of the innovative junior heavyweight style of the 90’s. Itoh said the rope walk is a lot more difficult than it looks.

It turns out Saori Anou was right to complain about having to team with Miyako Matsumoto. They had a few too many miscommunications that caused their tag team to fall apart. Anou got sick of getting knocked around by her own tag partner that she gave Matsumoto a Fisherman Buster and left her out to dry. Maya Yukihi hit Matsumoto with the Jumping Super Kick and Saki Akai finished her off with the Rookie Award. Akai, Yukihi and Anou then did a group pose together and left the ring when Matsumoto tried to join in.

New KO-D 8-Man Tag Team Champions have been crowned! Will we see a proper title reign for once? Hell if I know! But enough about that, it’s time to finally talk about Dieno’s anal server. Kazuki Hirata began dancing unconsciously before the match because he was suffering from withdrawal symptoms after spending some time away from the dance gimmick. When he got to do dance in the ring the enthusiasm was so high that it caused a power outage in the venue. Everyone agreed to use Dieno’s backside as a power supply but the cable was not long enough. The wrestlers agreed to form a human chain from Dieno’s butt to the power source. The plan worked but the power wasn’t enough to bring the electricity back to full surge. Shinya Aoki came up with the solution to do the Hell Gate on Dieno, giving the anal power source the energy Dieno needed to power up the building again. Hirata got to dance and pin Sanshiro Takagi to win the titles.

The new rivalry between Yusuke Okada and Mizuki Watase is heating up. The two got rough with each other during the opener. Watase even made it a point to make Toui Kojima submit to a Crab Hold in front of Okada while Okada was being held back by Hideki Okatani. Watase is looking forward to their singles match because he now has a burning heart that wasn’t there before.
