With one week to go until the big event a major change is made to one of the crazier matches on the show. The 5 Way Tag Team Match was originally supposed to be Falls Count Anywhere inside Sumo Hall. However the venue’s management as well as the Japan Sumo Association have requested for the match to be cancelled. Sumo Hall is very familiar with DDT’s Street Wrestling antics and they’ve put their foot down against DDT’s plan to do another one. The financial cost that could come from potential injuries to fans and damage to the premises is just too much of a risk nowadays.

With the announcement of the cancellation, DDT Assistant Producer Hisaya Imabayashi decided to replace the match with a regular 5 Way Tag Team bout featuring the same participants. However the wrestlers all have different ideas to what the match should be. Isami Kodaka & Fuminori Abe want to use weapons so they demanded a Weapon Rumble match. Abe said he will bring along 100 monks to be one of the random “weapons” if chosen. Yuko Miyamoto likes the idea but suggested that Abe should bring 108 monks to really make it an effort. MAO literally crashed the press conference by riding a bicycle into the table. He demanded the losers of the match be subjected to an anal bomb explosion! Imabayashi wanted to refuse but MAO pointed out that the Sumo Hall management have not banned anal blasts. Everyone except for Imabayashi were happy with all of the suggestions.

So now we have a 5 Way Tag Team Weapon Rumble match and whoever loses must get fireworks stuck into his butt and suffer an anal blast. The press conference broke down when Chinsuke Nakamura appeared and everyone tried to explode each other with fireworks. Yumehito Imanari got dragged in and was given the anal explosion to end the conference.

1. Daichi Kazato & Hiroshi Kondo defeated Kazuhiro Tamura & Daiki Shimomura when Kazato pinned Shimomura after the Anna Cutter and Pyonkichi Splash combo (8:45).
2. Great Reversal Pro Wrestling Trial “Suspect Sanshiro Takagi”: Sanshiro Takagi defeated Gouma Ryu and Hercules Senga when Takagi pinned Senga with the Stone Cold Stunner (9:38).
3. Ryuichi Sekine & Yuji Hino defeated Takato Nakano & Akiyori Takizawa when Sekine submitted Nakano with the Let’s Combine (9:51).
4. Doctor! Hardcore Cans 6-Man Tag Match: Takumi Tsukamoto, Masashi Takeda & Yasu Urano defeated FUMA, Yusuke Kubo & SAGAT when Tsukamoto pinned SAGAT with the Zudon onto a steel can (15:42).
5. BASARA Three Major Single Match: Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi defeated Fuminori Abe with the Perfect Plex (12:28).
6. BASARA Three Major Single Match: Manabu Hara defeated Ryota Nakatsu by TKO with an Armlock Chicken Wing (13:04).
7. Union MAX Title – BASARA Three Major Single Match: Isami Kodaka (c) defeated Tsutomu Oosugi with the Isamuashi Zan (18:20).
*V4 for Isami Kodaka.

Tsutomu Oosugi did what was asked of him and wrestled in his regular outfit for the main event. He was accompanied by Daichi Kazato but Kazato disappeared after he was hit by a Suicide Dive from Isami Kodaka. Oosugi did as good as he could given his lack of singles experience but Kodaka came out on top to keep the Union MAX Title. Kodaka’s victory speech was interrupted by Best Stretchman V3. Stretchman was deeply impressed by Oosugi’s effort but he was limited by his human body. Stretchman said it is time for a change and it should be left to him. He laughed, shook Kodaka’s hand and helped Oosugi exit the ring. Kodaka didn’t understand what was going on and was upset not to hear Oosugi speak.

Manabu Hara was too much for Ryota Nakatsu to handle. Nakatsu rolled into a Cross Armbar and Hara turned it into an Armlock Chicken Wing. Nakatsu wouldn’t give up but the referee stopped the match for his safety.

Fuminori Abe called his match with Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi his most difficult yet in BASARA. It was his first time getting into a style war with someone who wrestles very differently than he does. Abe describes Ryuichi’s aura as unique and delicious. The match felt like he was getting drunk somewhere in America. Ryuichi used the Perfect Plex to win because he misses Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi.

After the finish of the Hardcore Can Match, Masashi Takeda asked Yasu Urano to Body Slam him onto flat chair as a way to say thank you. Urano went along with the idea but fled the ring when Takeda wanted to do the same to him.

Yuji Hino got rid of Akiyori Takizawa with the Fuck’n Bomb while Ryuichi Sekine made Takato Nakano tap out to the Let’s Combine.

Court was in session when Hercules Senga called Sanshiro Takagi in to face accusations of fraud. Senga argued that Ippanjin Munenori Sawa should not be wrestling at Sumo Hall later this month because he is a salaryman and salarymen are forbidden from taking side jobs. Takagi was confident that he was in the right. Gouma Ryu even got the audience to applaud him when he said Sawa’s involvement on the show is what the fans wanted. Ryuichi Sekine was brought in as a witness but he was nervous and Takagi threatened him to stop talking. Both Ryu and Senga were offended by Takagi’s threats and they joined forces to fight him. Takagi gave both of them Stunners and pinned Senga to be declared innocent. Takagi said he won’t be paying any legal bills and left the ring.

The opening match included wrestlers from HEAT-UP and was used to promote their next show on 10th March. The ending had Daichi Kazato and Hiroshi Kondo combining their finishers to give Daiki Shimomura the Anna Cutter and Pyonkichi Splash at the same time.

5. DDT Extreme Title – Hardcore +α Match: Yuko Miyamoto (c) defeated Shunma Katsumata with the Moonsault (11:45).
*V2 for Yuko Miyamoto.
6. Special Single Match: Naomichi Marufuji defeated Kazusada Higuchi with the Ko-oh (13:02).
7. Special Tag Match: Shuji Ishikawa & Daisuke Sekimoto defeated Konosuke Takeshita & HARASHIMA when Ishikawa pinned Takeshita with the Splash Mountain (18:04).

With exactly one month to go until “JUDGEMENT 2018” at Sumo Hall, some big preview matches were put together for Korakuen Hall. In the main event the KO-D Openweight Champion fought alongside one of the KO-D Tag Team Champions against some of their challengers. Konosuke Takeshita, HARASHIMA, Shuji Ishikawa and Daisuke Sekimoto fought back and forth until the match went down to just Takeshita and Ishikawa inside the ring. HARASHIMA and Sekimoto still got involved to break the pins but other than that they focused on fighting each other outside. Ishikawa used the Kamigoe to great effect and hit move after move on Takeshita until the Splash Mountain kept him down for the three count.

After the match Ishikawa told Takeshita he was certainly strong but the result of their match at Sumo Hall will be the same as it was today. He then asked Daisuke Sasaki if he could sing today. He knows both he and Mad Paulie are prohibited from karaoke and dancing celebrations until Sumo Hall but he did just pin the KO-D Champion. Surely that is worth a song. Sasaki refused until Sekimoto threatened him. Sekimoto wants to sing too! Together, Ishikawa and Sekimoto sang “Tonbo” in a duet while Paulie played the air guitar while wearing sunglasses.

The other KO-D Tag Team Title preview saw Naomichi Marufuji defeat Kazusada Higuchi. Higuchi was worn down by Marufuji’s chops and different kicks while his own moves weren’t enough to keep Marufuji down for long. Marufuji said Higuchi has grown better since than the last time they fought but it takes more than youth and momentum to succeed. Marufuji is in too deep for Higuchi to beat him! Higuchi says he is learning from these matches and now understands what he is missing. From now until Sumo Hall, Higuchi & Sekimoto will think about what they need to do to win the KO-D Tag Team Titles.

There were plenty of weapons placed around ringside for the DDT Extreme Title match but two items in particular were the most important. The Hardcore +α Match allowed both Yuko Miyamoto and Shunma Katsumata to choose an extra weapon each. Miyamoto chose a barbed wire bat and Katsumata chose a box full of thumbtacks! The two also fought with tables, ladders, chairs and bamboo swords. Katsumata poured out the thumbtacks but he was the first to taste them when he missed a Moonsault and was then given the Fire Thunder. Katsumata kicked out and later slammed Miyamoto onto the thumbtacks with the ¡Hasta La Vista!. Miyamoto kicked out of that. Miyamoto hit another Fire Thunder and this time got the victory with the Moonsault. Backstage Miyamoto said how surprised he was by Katsumata’s performance. He was expecing an idol performance first and he still wasn’t convinced when the thumbtacks came out. It was only when Katsumata started using the weapons that Miyamoto realised he was really bringing it to him. Katsumata thinks the experience opened something new inside him. He is no longer scared of deathmatches and has a new respect for deathmatch fighters. He hopes he can use what he learned here to do more with ALL OUT.

NEO Biishiki-gun were invited out halfway through the show to reveal their third member for the Tokyo Joshi Pro Offer Match at Sumo Hall. Saki-sama & Azusa Christie came out to introduce their newest member but Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh were also there to see who it was. The mystery person came out and it was a woman in a dress hiding her face behind a teddy bear. Christie introduced her as Saki-sama’s old childhood friend. She shyly greeted the audience while still hiding behind the bear. Itoh had enough and she shouted at the woman about her appearance until the teddy was lowered. The mystery woman is Yoshiko-sama! She attacked Itoh with the bear and dropped on her with a Senton. Yamashita pulled Itoh out of the ring and had to drag her away. The teddy bear is named Charlotte by the way.

The BASARA team were in sync for most of the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles bout. At one point Ryuichi Sekine, Ryota Nakatsu & Fuminori Abe had a Shuten-dōji wrestler all trapped in submissions move at the same time. Nakatsu came close to pinning Yukio Sakaguchi with a German Suplex. But the champions retained when Sakaguchi countered the V Slider into a Triangle Kimura Hold.

Shuten-dōji were grateful in victory but now they faced a problem. They want to fight the best trio in DDT at Sumo Hall but they are the best trio so they have no opponents. Much to their surprise Yuki Ueno and Koju Takeda both entered the ring. Ueno asked if they could get the title shot at Sumo Hall. Masahiro Takanashi couldn’t believe what he was hearing from the rookie and said it was impossible. Then in a bigger surprise, Kota Umeda offered to be on their team! Sakaguchi was fine with the idea but he told Umeda he would have to leave Shuten-dōji for the time being. Umeda was willing to do that. He later explained that by being fourth man in Shuten-dōji, he was always left out of the 6-Man Tag Title matches unless one of the other three were injured. He also created a respectful bond with Ueno from their matches together since coming back from injury. By leaving Shuten-dōji to team with Ueno & Takeda he is now free to challenge for the championships at Sumo Hall.

Daisuke Sasaki blinded Keisuke Ishii with the Mist then made Ken Ohka tap to the Cross Facelock. Sasaki & Tetsuya Endo’s victory was cut short when the room went dark. The Great Homo appeared and spat Milk Mist at both of the DAMNATION wrestlers! He then pressed a metal spike into Endo’s backside and gave him the Danshoku Driver. The Great Homo made his exit by spitting Milk Mist at the audience.

For the Infomercial Match, Danshoku Dino was fitted with health sensors that displayed his hit points on the Korakuen video screen. With this technology we were able to learn what moves were effective against Dino (Antonio Honda’s strikes) and how Dino was able to recover lost hit points (doing Danshoku things to Akito). Dino was eventually brought down to 0 HP but everyone discovered that at 0 HP, Dino goes into a panic state. In this state Dino attacked everyone with Lip Locks. Dino won the match and told the sponsor that there is something about pro wrestling that cannot be measured by numbers. He then kissed the sponsor.

Congratulations to Sanshiro Takagi & Super Sasadango Machine for being the first team to copy the new Golden Lovers moveset. They attempted the Croyt’s Wrath/High Kick combo on Makoto Oishi. It kind of worked. Then they used the Golden☆Trigger, which did work. All of their progress was for nothing as MAO immediately pinned Takagi with the Cannonball 450 afterwards to win the Tag Rumble for himself and Soma Takao.

When the Tag Rumble was over, MAO said he will be entering the Falls Count Anywhere In Ryogoku tag match with Mike Bailey. He said now is the time for Street Wrestling to be taken over by the new generation. Soma Takao also announced he will be part of the match with Yuko Miyamoto as his partner. They will be representing Smile Squash. Takagi accepted the entries but then the room went dark. A video played of Michael Nakazawa announcing his entry into the match! His partner is a friend from “New York” and he is in Korakuen tonight. “Rising Sun” played over the speakers and Chinsuke Nakamura came out! Takagi attacked Nakamura mid-entrance but got the Kinsasha for his troubles. Chinsuke threw Takagi over the top rope and out of the ring, then pointed to the RyogokuMania sign that suddenly appeared on one of the balconies. One last team announced their entry later in the show. Fuminori Abe called Isami Kodaka on the phone while standing in the ring to confirm they will be part of the match.

Mad Paulie’s size and weight was too large for Tomomitsu Matsunaga to handle. Matsunaga couldn’t lift Paulie with the Back Drop or a Power Bomb. Paulie was able to stop Matsunaga with a Lou Thesz Press then pinned him with the Paulie Buster.

Gota Ihashi continues his path of redemption with a new five match series beginning in April. His first opponent is Koji Kanemoto on 1st April. Ken Ohka explained that Ihashi is wrestling to the best of his abilities but that alone is not getting results. Ihashi has to face wrestlers on the level of Kanemoto if he wants to become good enough to appease Riki Choshu.

Saki Akai revealed three new pieces of information about her “DDT COLLECTION” show at Shinjuku FACE on 15th March. First, Aja Kong will be on the card. Second, there will be a 6 Way Match between Yuko Miyamoto, Ryota Nakatsu, Naomi Yoshimura, Yukio Sakaguchi, Nobuhiro Shimatani and Yoshiko. Last but not least, NEO Biishiki-gun will face T2HiJoshi in a special trios match.

DDT is collaborating with Koei Tecmo for the upcoming horse racing video game “Winning Post 8 2018”. The game will feature two race horses named after Danshoku Dino and Konosuke Takeshita.

The DDT Video Team confirmed their own produced event “BETAMANIA” will be held in Shin-Kiba 1st RING on 23rd April. The video team is made up of Yumehito Imanari, DT-YUTA and Ryohei Fukuda. All three will participate in a match on the show.

6. BASARA Three Major Single Match: Ryota Nakatsu Vs Manabu Hara
7. Union MAX Title – BASARA Three Major Single Match: Isami Kodaka (c) Vs Tsutomu Oosugi

Normally Isami Kodaka wouldn’t be worried to fight against someone like Tsutomu Oosugi. He only lost to Oosugi in the IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT because of a missed attack by his partner for the match Yoshihisa Uto. However, ever since then Kodaka’s neck has been feeling stiff and he’s been sleeping rough because of it. It’s ironic that he’s fighting a masseur then, isn’t it? Regardless, Kodaka wants to fight Oosugi the pro wrestler. Not Oosugi the Best Stretch masseur or even the Oosugi from Speed Of Sounds. Kodaka wants Oosugi to be as selfish in the ring as he is for this match. Oosugi is in an odd position because he rarely wrestles in singles matches.

Ryota Nakatsu mentioned that he wanted a match against someone so dangerous that it could result in the end of his career. Manabu Hara answered the challenge and joked that Nakatsu can request a different opponent if he’s too scared. Nakatsu didn’t take the comment well and will be ready to fight Hara.

Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi is threatening to crush Fuminori Abe with the Justice Punch. Abe thinks there are too many Americans in BASARA and too many horizontal letters that comes with them. It is up to Abe to protect Japan for the spirits that have protected people like him.

Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi will travel to India in March to study yoga and acquire certification from the National Yoga Alliance. Hiroshi said last year he turned 30 years old and in that time he was infected with three diseases and suffered from shoulder dislocation, cecum pain and gout. Through yoga he was able to heal himself from those ailments when scientific treatments could not.

BASARA “VAJRA 59 ~ONE MINDLESS BODY~”, 11/02/2018
Tokyo BASEMENT MON☆STAR
160 Fans – Super No Vacancy Full House

1. Hercules Senga defeated Daiki Shimomura with the Yellow Dragon (9:05).
2. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 1: FUMA & SAGAT defeated Takato Nakano & Akiyori Takizawa when FUMA pinned Nakano with the Heavy Metal Anthem (11:55).
3. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 1: Best Stretchman V3 & Tsutomu Oosugi defeated Isami Kodaka & Yoshihisa Uto when Oosugi pinned Kodaka with the Tsukinoishi (13:16).
4. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 1: Manabu Hara & Fuminori Abe defeated Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi & Yusuke Kubo when Hara submitted Kubo with a Chickenwing Armlock (16:01).
5. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 1: Ryuichi Sekine & Ryota Nakatsu defeated Takumi Tsukamoto & Yasu Urano when Sekine submitted Urano with the Let’s Combine (27:41).

In a big surprise, the two wrestlers from last year’s winning team were both eliminated in the first round this year. Isami Kodaka’s first problem was his partner Yoshihisa Uto was disturbed by Best Stretchman V3 and didn’t know what to do with him. Kodaka’s other problem was Tsutomu Oosugi being completely ready for him. Oosugi got the upset pin over Kodaka to advance the Best Stretch team to the semi-final. Oosugi said he is now a trainer with a cause and he challenges Kodaka to put the Union MAX Title on the line against him. Kodaka agreed to it and the match will happen on 3rd March. All Kodaka asks is for Oosugi to come in his regular wrestling gear instead of the Best Stretch uniform he wore for today’s match.

Takumi Tsukamoto also had a bad go in his 1st Round match. He was taken out by Ryuichi Sekine & Ryota Nakatsu. That left Yasu Urano alone to be picked apart by Cavalry at the end. Sekine struggled to stand after the match because of damage to his left knee but he and Nakatsu were able to brag about their recent good match record in the venue.

The Metal Family had mixed results in the two remaining 1st Round Matches. FUMA & SAGAT were able to beat the rookie team of Takato Nakano & Akiyori Takizawa. However Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi & Yusuke Kubo lost to Manabu Hara & Fuminori Abe. Ryuichi gave his condolences to Kubo backstage and acted like Kubo died in the ring. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi complained about how much he hates shoot style wrestling. Everyone should be doing powerful American style wrestling instead. They will leave it up to FUMA & SAGAT to win the rest of the tournament for them.

The IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT semi-final match-ups are Ryuichi Sekine & Ryota Nakatsu Vs Manabu Hara & Fuminori Abe and FUMA & SAGAT Vs Best Stretchman V3 & Tsutomu Oosugi. The semi-finals and final will happen on 19th February.

Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi announced his first match back from injury will take place on the 3rd May Korakuen Hall show. He’s been recovering from a separated shoulder since last summer.

5. Kota Umeda defeated Yuki Ueno with the Umeda Driver (15:54).

7. Road To KO-D! ‘Hama Special Tag Match: Shuji Ishikawa & Tetsuya Endo defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata when Endo pinned Katsumata with the Shooting Star Press (16:26).

Konosuke Takeshita and Shuji Ishikawa will have plenty of chances to know each other’s strengths as their Sumo Hall preview series of matches continued today. Ishikawa said that his body will not break before 25th March. Daisuke Sasaki told everyone that Mad Paulie is not allowed to sing or dance to celebrate Ishikawa’s victories until Ishikawa beats Takeshita at Sumo Hall. Both Ishikawa and Paulie were shocked to hear this news.

Kazusada Higuchi said he is feeling good again after his latest match with HARASHIMA involved. Higuchi made Makoto Oishi submit to the Canadian Backbreaker to win. Next on his list of priorities is his match with Naomichi Marufuji in Korakuen Hall. Higuchi sees this as a big chance to beat one of the best pro wrestlers going today. He wants the fans expecting him to crush Marufuji!

After a month of intense exchanges in the ring, Kota Umeda and Yuki Ueno fought each other one on one to settle their differences. Umeda’s kicks overwhelmed Ueno but he took as many of them as he could before falling to the Umeda Driver. The two shook hands after the match but Ueno was still in a bad mood. He explained backstage that he is frustrated because he wants to become stronger but hasn’t felt any change in him recently. He doesn’t dislike Umeda, he is just angry that Umeda was able to advance his skills after coming back from a serious injury.

DAMNATION have awoken something dark and evil inside Danshoku Dino. He was taken out of his tag match when Daisuke Sasaki injured him with a chair attack. Keisuke Ishii had to fight on his own and was on the verge of tapping out to the Cross Facelock when Great Muta style chanting could be heard around the room. Dino came back as The Great Homo and spat a milk like mist at everyone in the ring! The match was stopped but The Great Homo continued his rampage. He took out a metal spike and attacked Sasaki with it, aiming for his ass. Sasaki was able to escape when other wrestlers at ringside pulled Dino away from him.

The BASARA team showed they are united towards achieving their goal of winning the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. They came out to the BASARA theme song instead of their own. When they won today’s match, Ryota Nakatsu & Fuminori Abe mocked Shuten-dōji by taking out cans of beer from under the ring and holding their own victory toast. An angry Yukio Sakaguchi chased them away from the ring.

Antonio Honda tried to impress Samara by telling his story about “Gon, The Little Fox” in English.

KUDO was mostly ignored by Toru Owashi and Daiki Shimomura in the 3 Way Match. Both of them even yelled at him to stop interfering in their fight. Owashi finally allowed KUDO to get involved by asking him to do the Diving Double Knee Drop to Shimomura. But when KUDO climbed the ropes, Owashi grabbed Shimomura and pinned him with La Magistral Cradle. Afterwards KUDO said he was relieved that his daughter wasn’t here to see this match nor will she be allowed to watch it on DDT UNIVERSE.

5. New Year Elimination 8-Man Tag Match: Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi, FUMA, Yusuke Kubo & SAGAT defeated Isami Kodaka, Tank Nagai, Takumi Tsukamoto & Yasu Urano (15:39).
5a. Yusuke Kubo eliminated Yasu Urano by Ring Out (18:35).
5b. Tank Nagai eliminated Yusuke Kubo with the Diving Senton (19:47).
5c. FUMA eliminated Tank Nagai by Ring Out (20:45).
5d. Takumi Tsukamoto and Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi eliminated each other by Ring Out (23:28).
5e. SAGAT eliminated Isami Kodaka with the Goregrind (25:39).

The combined forces of IRON PRIEST and the Trans-Am ★ Family was too much for BASARA to handle in the main event. Isami Kodaka brought in Tank Nagai from K-DOJO to help out but even that wasn’t enough to beat the Metal Family. In the end FUMA & SAGAT were the last men standing. FUMA gave Kodaka the Heavy Metal Hammer and SAGAT finished him off with the Goregrind. FUMA told Kodaka that IRON PRIEST and the Trans-Am ★ Family won today because they unite together. He then went on a tangent about the band HELLOWEEN getting back together for a tour and complained that he can’t get a ticket for their Japan gig. So he is using his anger over that as motivation to win the Union MAX Title from Kodaka on 8th January!

The Metal Family wanted to raise a toast to close out the show but all of the beer in the venue was sold out. They had to raise a toast with tea instead.

Fuminori Abe’s first match as a full time BASARA wrestlers was enough of an important occasion for Ryuichi Sekine to wear regular wrestling gear again. That is something he has not done since his Union MAX Title match back in November. Sekine countered the Octopus Hold into the Let’s Combine to get the submission victory. Both he and Abe smiled to each other after the match. Sekine then gave him a playful push.

Ryota Nakatsu and Manabu Hara continued to fight each other after Match #3. They had to be seperated from each other by their tag partners and other wrestlers.

For the court case between Hercules Senga and Tsutomu Oosugi, Senga used a magic marker to draw a hairline on his head and wore suspenders with a bowtie. Best Stretchman V3 argued that Senga was infringing a TV broadcaster’s copyright with his costume. When they finished arguing about that it was time to sort out the reason why they were all there. Senga wants Oosugi to stop teaming with Stretchman and reform Speed Of Sounds. Oosugi needed Gouma Ryu to plead his case. Senga argued that Stretchman and his stretching techniques were too dangerous. His witnesses to prove this were Fuminori Abe and Isami Kodaka. Abe had a dead leg and Kodaka said his right arm s in an even worse state after spending time in the Best Stretch parlour. Stretchman went away and Daichi Kazato took his place. Kazato stretched both Abe and Kodaka and miraculously their injuries went away! Senga protested and it led to a fight breaking out. Oosugi unexpectedly joined Senga’s side to clear the ring. They shook hands until Oosugi rolled Senga into a School Boy to pin him. Senga admitted defeat and will now consider working with the Stretchman team.

It took around nine months to get here but Takato Nakano earned his first singles win today by beating Akiyori Takizawa. Nakano caught Takizawa in mid-air with a Cradle for a nearfall but used the momentum to School Boy him into another pin. That one was enough to get the three count.

As of 1st January, 2018 Fuminori Abe is now a full time member of the BASARA roster. It looks like he is joining the Cavalry unit too which would be a big boost for that side.

News is coming in that Atsushi Maruyama is joining All Japan as a full time wrestler. Does this mean the end of the Reversal Pro Wrestling trials? You can’t have these kind of trials without a prosecutor, can you?

Play time is over for Shuichiro Katsumura. He now wants to be in real fights and isn’t happy with the people Ganbare☆Wrestling has thrown his way lately. Ken Ohka put this main event together to test just how serious Katsumura’s demand is.

Shuhei Washida is one of the auditions that passed the Ganbare Tryouts held back in February last year. The only information I have for now is he was 25 years old at the time of the tryout.

7. Shinjuku Strongest Ground Budokai – Semi Final: Fuminori Abe defeated Isami Kodaka by Knockout with a Rabbit Punch (7:12).
8. Shinjuku Strongest Ground Budokai – Semi Final: Hideki Suzuki defeated Riho by Ring Out (2:51).
9. BASARA Offer Match: Trans-Am ★ Ryuchi, SAGAT, FUMA, Yusuke Kubo & Hagane defeated Takumi Tsukamoto, Ryuichi Sekine, Ryota Nakatsu, Daichi Kazato & Takato Nakano when FUMA pinned Sekine with the Jawbreaker (10:44).
10. Shinjuku Strongest Ground Budokai – Final: Hideki Suzuki defeated Fuminori Abe with the Double Arm Suplex (12:58).

The ruleset for the Shinjuku Strongest Ground Budokai tournament led to some unique finishes in the early rounds. With no ropes attached and Ring Outs in effect, seven of the nine matches in the tournament ended with a wrestler losing by falling out of the ring one way or another. Isami Kodaka beat Naoki Tanizaki with a Knee Strike knocking Tanizaki out of the ring. Colt Cabana was eliminated when Yuko Miyamoto kicked out of the Superman Dive. Whether intentional or not, the kickout pushed Cabana out of the ring. Fuminori Abe was put in a Figure Four Leg Lock by Akito but Abe shifted both of them over the apron and grabbed on to the corner post so Akito would hit the floor first. Riho used her tricky spinning cradles to roll Yasu Urano to the edge so when he kicked out of the move he fell out of the ring in the process.

In Round 2 Ayako Hamada and Hideki Suzuki took part in their first matches of the day. Hamada faced Kodaka and they ended up fighting by the corner post. After some switching back and forth, Kodaka finally got to kick out Hamada to advance to the next round. Suzuki was able to throw out Miyamoto but Miyamoto grabbed on to Suzuki’s tights and struggled to avoid the floor. Miyamoto lost his grip but was able to pull down Suzuki’s tights. Still, in the end the bare-bottomed Suzuki was declared the winner.

In the semi-finals Kodaka fell to Abe in the first non-Ring Out finish of the show. This time the ring ropes were attached so it was more difficult to be forced out of the ring. Instead both Kodaka and Abe aimed to win by knockout. It led to dueling Rabbit Punches between the two until Kodaka could not take anymore and failed to answer the 10 count after a knockdown. Riho got to face Suzuki who is the wrestler she wanted to fight the most in the tournament. Suzuki was left dizzy by Riho’s quick attacks but countered a 619 to knock her out of the ring.

Any questions about whether or not the Metal Family could get along were seemingly answered in the BASARA Offer Match. IRON PRIEST and the Trans-Am ★ Family worked together to beat the combined Cavalry & BASARA-gun side. FUMA got the pin and is now so confident that he wants to fight Kodaka for the Union MAX Title on 8th January. His reason for the date is because FUMA last won the MAX Title from Kodaka on 6th January, 2017. FUMA wants history to repeat itself.

The Ring Out rules were taken away for the Budokai final. Fuminori Abe and Hideki Suzuki got to wrestle each other in a normal match to see who was better. The Double Arm Suplex was the difference maker. Suzuki used the move to counter Abe’s Rabbit Punch to win the tournament. Suzuki thanked the fans for coming and told a story about first meeting Abe ten years ago. Abe was just an elementary school student who joined the UWF Snake Pit Gym in Koenji. The first thing Abe told Suzuki when he signed up was “Mr. Suzuki, I’m going to WWE!” Years went by until they met again and this time Suzuki found out Abe became a monk. Suzuki was really happy to wrestle with Abe today.

Kodaka approached Abe during the commemorative group photo at the end of the show. He thought Abe did pretty good today. Kodaka doesn’t know if Abe still wants to join WWE but he would like Abe to join BASARA instead. Kodaka offered him a BASARA T-shirt. Abe was happy to accept it. How could he say no? Kodaka told Abe they can get stronger together. Abe promised he will do his best to help make BASARA bigger.

6. Union MAX Title: Isami Kodaka (c) defeated Fuminori Abe with the Majigatame Type 1244 (19:09).
*V2 for Isami Kodaka.

When Fuminori Abe asked for a Union MAX Title shot he wanted to find out how far he has progressed since he started wrestling in BASARA. The champion Isami Kodaka was more than happy to oblige. Abe put up a good fight but Kodaka outwrestled him and made him submit to a Manjigatame. Kodaka told Abe that his body aches but the match was fun. Abe said even though he lost he was able to prove he enjoys wrestling more than anyone else. Kodaka agreed but told Abe he needs to take the next step. It’s fun now but Abe needs to grow to enjoy it even more. Kodaka told him there are only a handful of moments in his 15 year career when he experienced true ecstasy. Abe said there is no chance he can be compared to Munenori Sawa right now but his goal in the next few years is to go beyond Sawa then he can challenge Kodaka again.

IRON PRIEST and the Trans-Am ★ Family have joined forces to become the Metal Family! For their first match together Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi, FUMA & SAGAT came out to “(You Can Still) Rock In America” by Night Ranger. SAGAT also got into the swing of things by bringing a guitar with him to play during the entrance. He countered Ryota Nakatsu’s Cross Armbreaker and won the match with the Goregrind. Both Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi and Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi shouted words of praise to SAGAT afterwards. Phrases like “Good job!”, “Gore of the year!”, “Feel so good!” and “I’m coming!” which was then corrected to “Home coming!”

Both Hercules Senga & Takato Nakano asked Best Stretchman V3 to return Tsutomu Oosugi but Stretchman told them that Oosugi wanted to team with him. In the match itself Stretchman blocked a low kick from Senga and Oosugi rolled on top of Senga with a School Boy to pin him. Afterwards Senga asked Oosugi if he wanted to win so badly that he was willing to team with Stretchman. He then took out a promotional Speed Of Sounds photo to try and tug Oosugi’s emotional strings. When Stretchman saw the photo he finally realised that Senga and Oosugi are a tag team. He then had a brainstorm. The three of them can team up together! Senga refused because he does not want to conform to the Best Stretch style. Senga told the two he will see them in court on 6th January!
