5. DDT Universal Title: Yuki Ueno (c) Vs Daisuke Sasaki
6. KO-D Openweight Title: Jun Akiyama (c) Vs Konosuke Takeshita

A press conference was held today covering some of the important “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2021” matches. Konosuke Takeshita admitted that losing twice to Jun Akiyama is what helped make him come into this match as a much better wrestler. He wants to win the KO-D Openweight Title and say with pride that “DDT has Takeshita.” Akiyama said that although his opponent is bigger and stronger, he’s going to show him what happens when the feelings in your heart and mind prevail. Akiyama won the previous two matches by submission but will take winning the third match by pinfall if he has to.

Daisuke Sasaki was able to appear on Zoom (goofy background and all) because he is finishing up his quarantine period. His physical absence from the press conference annoyed Yuki Ueno even more because Sasaki still has the stolen DDT Universal Title.

Sanshiro Takagi explained that when students from the DDT Teenage Project turn 20 years old they will become full time members of DDT. Their school education is given priority so will not be wrestling on every show. El Unicorn said he’s been recently inspired by Momiji Nishiya, the 13 year old skateboarder who won gold at the Olympics. Ilusion said he wants to become a big name worldwide. Both of them are just as focused on fighting the big names in their match as they are fighting each other.

Yesterday Atsushi Onita gathered his team together at a parking lot in Chiba to demonstrate the explosions that will be happen for their match. A watermelon was meant to be used as the target. Kuro-chan and his group interrupted the scene and attacked Onita’s team. Super Sasadango Machine smashed the watermelon over Sanshiro Takagi’s head while Akito & Maki Itoh were both taken care of. Kuro-chan & Hikari Noa then grabbed an explosive barbed wire bat and blasted Onita with it. Kuro-chan added insult to injury by pinning Onita while Sasadango counted to three. Kuro-chan promised to retire Onita and take over the rights to explosion death matches!

I will be writing a preview for the show next week.

2. Texas Tornado Street Fight Special Mixed Tag Match: Miss Mongol & Yumehito Imanari Vs Cherry & Shota

There’s more to Ganbare☆Joshi than just the Manase & HARUKAZE drama. Cherry allegedly won a match against Shota in impressive fashion on the last show but no evidence of it happening exists. Whatever happened between them resulted in them now teaming together. Miss Mongol usually has Shota’s number when they fight each other and Yumehito Imanari isn’t going to be distracted by any Pocchari Joshi shenanigans.

5. UWA World 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Ryuichi Sekine, Isami Kodaka & Daiki Shimomura defeated Naoki Tanizaki, “brother” YASSHI & Kohei Kinoshita when Kodaka pinned Tanizaki with the Isamiashi Zan (17:01).
*V1 for Sento Minzoku.

Today’s Shinjuku FACE doubleheader began with BASARA’s turn in the Beer Garden. Dove Pro came in with the goal of winning the UWA World 6-Man Tag Team Titles from Sento Minzoku. The main event was even done “DOVE Style” by playing music while everyone fought. “brother” YASSHI did his best to annoy everyone while Kohei Kinoshita co-operated well with his partners. They were kept busy with Ryuichi Sekine & Daiki Shimomura but the match went down to Isami Kodaka and Naoki Tanizaki. Kodaka survived the Implant Bomb and hit the Isamiashi Zan for his team’s first successful title defence.

Kodaka said today’s matches were a little confusing because there were BASARA wrestlers in Dove Pro teams. Tanizaki told him that Dove Pro defeated BASARA today three matches to two. Kodaka disagreed because BASARA won the main event title match. They’ll continue this feud in Osaka on 12th August.

Ryota Nakatsu got new theme music for his match with Kenshin Chikano. His right arm was targeted but plenty of kicks and the V Slider got him a big win in the BASRA Vs Dove Pro rivalry.

Changes were made to a few matches at the start of the show when it was revealed that FUMA was jumping ship to Dove Pro! He made the decision because Dove Pro’s ending song is more heavy metal than BASARA’s ending song. Kodaka decided to add FUMA and SAGAT to opposite teams in the Hardcore Tag Match. The Dove Pro team won when Gunso threw a chair in SAGAT’s face. Yusuke Kubo pushed FUMA away after the match but they reconciled with the heavy metal hand sign. At the end of the show Kodaka told FUMA that BASARA is not ashamed of heavy metal. They will hold another “FUMA FEST” this year so they hope he will be return to BASARA for that.

Rey Paloma used a Sleeper Hold to render Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi unconscious. However Hiroshi’s yoga ability made him reach enlightenment in this situation so he was able to fight back. Paloma powered up in his own way by pulling down his wrestling tights to his ankles and wrestling the rest of the match in a red thong. The tights also prevented Hiroshi from doing the Scorpion Deathlock because they would his own legs would get tangled in them. That allowed Paloma to use steal the win with a Backslide Pin.

The 8 Way Drunkers match was changed to a 6 Way with the removal of FUMA and SAGAT. The rules were a wrestler had to drink a shot of tequila after every kickout or rope break. Shoichi Uchida stood around dressed like a bartender providing the drinks. Everybody got drunk. Uchida ended up shoving the bottle of tequila into Takato Nakano’s mouth and Kabuki Kid took advantage to get the pin.

5. Naoki Tanizaki & Kohei Kinoshita defeated Ryota Nakatsu & Takato Nakano when Tanizaki pinned Nakano with the Isamiashi Zan (12:59).
6. Sento Minzoku Vs Dove Pro Wrestling!: Ryuichi Sekine, Isami Kodaka & Daiki Shimomura defeated Gunso, Kabuki Kid & Mataro Aoki by Referee Stoppage when Sekine used the Let’s Combine on Kid (13:53).

The referee stopped the main event and awarded the match to Sento Minzoku when Kabuki Kid was unresponsive in Ryuichi Sekine’s Combine submission hold. The Dove Pro team complained about the result and started a brawl with the BASARA wrestlers. Isami Kodaka told the Dove wrestlers that their battles will continue in Shinjuku and Osaka next month. Gunso called the referee biased while Naoki Tanizaki promised to take the UWA World 6-Man Tag Team Titles from Isami Kodaka and his buddies. Kodaka said this feud is not about Tokyo Vs Osaka but he would protect Shinjuku from Tanizaki.

What sparked the bad tensions took place in the previous match. Tanizaki used Kodaka’s finisher the Isamiashi Zan on Takato Nakano to win the match. He and Ryota Nakatsu got in each other’s faces afterwards and begun fighting until they were pulled apart.

Fuminori Abe and Jun Masaoka fought to a twenty minute draw. Abe offered a handshake when the match was over but Masaoka stuck up a middle finger instead.

5. DOVE World Title – Crash! BASARA x DOVE Battle: Naoki Tanizaki (c) defeated Fuminori Abe with the Libido (17:54).
*V4 for Naoki Tanizaki.

The final day of Fighting Beer Garden 2018 began with the crossover show between BASARA and Dove Pro. In the main event Naoki Tanizaki put the DOVE World Title on the line against BASARA’s Fuminori Abe. Abe had the support of the entire BASARA roster behind him and it showed when they did a train entrance with Abe down to the ring. The title match broke down after a ref bump which resulted in all of the Dove wrestlers entering the ring to attack Abe. The BASARA wrestlers came to the rescue and got a few digs in on Tanizaki to even the playing field. Abe though he had the match won when he struck the champion with a Rabbit Punch and placed him in the Manjigatame. However Tanizaki countered the hold into the Implant. He then hid the Reverse Implant but Abe kicked out at one! Abe caught Tanizaki in a Crucifix Pin in a last ditch attempt to squeak in a victory but Tanizaki kicked out and hit Abe with the Casanova knee strike. He then hit his Libido Go 2 Sleep variant for the three count.

The overall score on today’s show was 3-2 for Dove Pro. Tanizaki and the rest of Dove Pro rubbed it in after the main event. They came all the way to Tokyo for this? Where’s the energy you get at the Dove shows out west? Ryota Nakatsu confronted Tanizaki in response to this. Tanizaki asked who this guy was and the crowd started chanting for Nakatsu. Tanizaki promoted Dove Pro’s event at Shin-Kiba 1st RING on 20th September then assured Nakatsu that he remembers their Union MAX Title match at Korakuen Hall is happening the next day. Isami Kodaka said that he lost to Tanizaki, Abe lost to Tanizaki and Takato Nakano lost to Tanizaki. But Nakatsu will beat Tanizaki! Nakatsu will win the MAX Title and bring it back to BASARA! Even though there is tension between the champion and challenger, things are a little friendlier between Kodaka and Gunso. They thanked everyone for coming to the show and shook hands at the end.

BASARA’s big win of the day came form the Hardcore Tag Match. When Gunso & Kabuki Kid made their entrance they decided to stay away from the ring. That drew Nakatsu & Ruichi Sekine out to them for an arena wide brawl. Chairs and steel boxes were used throughout. Sekine wiped out the Dove team with a big dive outside the ring while Nakatsu delivered a Superplex to Kabuki Kid onto the weapons inside. Nakatsu then finished off Kid with the V Slider onto the chairs to win the match for Cavalry.

Dove’s Rey Paloma decided to put his restaurant Acapulco on the line against one of the BASARA wrestlers. Who he faced was determined by a 4 Way Battle Royal. Gouma Ryu & SAGAT worked together to eliminate Best Stretchman V3. They then turned on and eliminated each other. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi won the match and all he did was practice yoga the entire time! When it was time for Paloma to wrestle him, Paloma thrusted his crotch into Hiroshi’s face while he was still meditating. This annoyed Hiroshi enough to react and put Paloma in different holds. Somehow the moves both wrestlers were doing began to resemble yoga holds. The back and forth continued until Paloma trapped Hiroshi in a Cradle for the three count. The result meant Paloma successfully defended the ownership of his restaurant for the first time. He cheered Hiroshi up by suggesting he can hold monthly yoga sessions at the restaurant.

The rule of the Drunkers Match was Kodaka and Shoichi Uchida both had to drink a shot of tequila after every round until one man was left standing. After Round 7 both men were too hammered to get back up so the match was brought to an end. The winner was then decided by three judges: Yuya Okada, Yuki Aoki and Gouma Ryu. Aoki & Ryu voted for Uchida when he handed them 10,000 yen. Uchida was declared the winner by split decision!

The fighting between BASARA and Dove Pro continued after the opening match.

3. FUMA & Takumi Tsukamoto defeated Shoichi Uchida & Kenshin Chikano when Tsukamoto pinned Uchida with a Thrust Kick (12:28).
4. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi defeated Rey Paloma with the Zen Samson Clutch (10:48).
5. TLC 4 THE HARD WAY – DOVE World Title Challenger Decision: Fuminori Abe defeated Isami Kodaka, Kabuki Kid and Gunso when Abe grabbed the prize (13:15).

The feud between BASARA and Dove Pro transferred over to Dove’s shows with a series of matches pitting the two sides together. The main event featured two wrestlers from each promotion but it was every man for themselves because they fought in a TLC Match with a DOVE World Title shot on the line. Fuminori Abe was the odd man out because of his lack of experience in hardcore wrestling but he was able to adapt. Gunso and Kabuki Kid were too focused on fighting each other at the top of the ladder to defend themselves from Isami Kodaka. He knocked them out of action and then climbed the ladder to get the contract. However Abe stopped Kodaka and twisted him into the Octopus Hold at the top of the ladder. Abe was then able to pull down the contract while he was applying the move to win the match. The champion Naoki Tanizaki encouraged Abe to plan their title match for 5th August in Shinjuku.

The power of yoga defeated the power of ecstasy when Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi won over Rey Paloma. Hiroshi convinced Paloma to try some yoga during their match but Paloma ended up resisting it. However his attacks left him open for Hiroshi to trap him in a Samson Clutch for the 3 count.

Naoki Tanizaki got some momentum over Ryota Nakatsu when the two clashed in a trios match. The BASARA team put the Dove team in trouble with a triple submission spot but Tanizaki recovered to pin Takato Nakano with the Implant. After the match Nakatsu motioned that he will win the Union MAX Title from Tanizaki.

Overall BASARA won the day with three wins to Dove’s two. “brother” YASSHI increased Dove’s early lead with a win over SAGAT. But from Match #3 onwards BASARA won the rest of the matches.

7. Union MAX Title: Isami Kodaka defeated Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi (c) with the Isamuashi Zan (16:35).
*Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi fails in V4. Isami Kodaka becomes the 9th Union MAX Champion!

15 years isn’t slowing down Isami Kodaka one bit. He regained the Union MAX Championship on his very own 15th Anniversary show! Kodaka’s cry from the main event’s video package was “Enjoy Wrestling!” while the defending champion Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi shouted back with “Freedom!” The video also featured comments from Ryuichi Kawakami who has been constantly compared to Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi for some reason. In a reverse of roles, it was Ryuichi who offered a handshake at the start only for Kodaka to kick his hand away. Kodaka later asked for a handshake but Ryuichi turned him down and shouted “Wooooo!” Kodaka kicked out of the Perfect Plex and fought his way out of the Perfect Five. An Exploder Suplex took Ryuichi out of his game and a bunch of Buzzsaw Kicks and Isamuashi Zan kicks won the match for Kodaka. The new champion said Ryuichi fought like a cyborg. He then asked him to send his thanks to Kawakami. Kodaka thinks Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi and Ryuichi Kawakami should combine to form the Perfect Soldier. Ryuichi’s response in broken English was “Thank you so much!” Kodaka then talked about his own career. It can go another 15, 20, 25 and even 30 years. Kodaka wants to be like The Great Kojika who is still wrestling at 75 years old. However, Kodaka is also dedicated to BASARA. If BASARA ever goes away then that means retirement for Kodaka! He will never let that happen.

HUB got into the IRON PRIEST spirit by rocking out on air guitar with FUMA and Yusuke Kubo for their entrance. FUMA even used HUB’s stinger as a guitar while they were beating on Yasu Urano. Kubo & HUB wiped out Urano & Yuji Hino with dives but the party ended when Ryuichi Sekine countered FUMA’s Reverse Power Slam and rolled it into the Let’s Combine submission. When FUMA tapped out, Urano rushed over to hug Sekine. In the backstage interview, Sekine pointed out that he never touched HUB at all during the match because he hates snakes. He also heard all of his large sized shirts and higher sold out at the merch table. None of the smaller shirts sold which annoyed him because it meant no women were buying them, only men.

In the battle of current gen yankee versus new gen yankee, Yuko Miyamoto defeated Ryota Nakatsu. Miyamoto was put in danger many times by Nakatsu’s submissions, most notably when the Fire Thunder was countered into a Cross Armbreaker. Miyamoto eventually hit the move but Nakatsu fought through the pain to get back up to his feet. However, Nakatsu was knocked down again with a Lariat and put away with the Moonsault. Miyamoto was surprised to discover that BASARA had a wrestler so focused to target his right arm like Nakatsu did. He thinks it is possible for Nakatsu to grow into a great wrestler.

If it was made out of steel, it was allowed to be used in the Hardcore 6-Man Tag Match. Takumi Tsukamoto gathered around some of his friends from Big Japan to battle the Dove Pro team and their heavy bass music that played throughout the match. A steel box was smashed over everyone’s heads a lot. Gunso grabbed a shard of metal and dug it into Tsukamoto’s forehead to make him bleed. Kabuki Kid then created a pile of chairs for Tsukamoto to be slammed onto. However Tsukamoto got some revenge on Kid with a Fisherman Buster. Jaki Numazawa fended off the Dove wrestlers by throwing chairs at them. Masashi Takeda also used the steel box to keep the Dove wrestlers away while Tsukamoto and Gunso fought to the end inside the ring. Tsukamoto Suplexed Gunso from a ladder onto a pile of metal objects below. He then hit the Zudon for the three count, making B FAULTLESS JUNKY’S the winners. Even though a winner was declared, both sides hinted that the conflict between them isn’t over yet. Tsukamoto wasn’t satisfied with the victory.

SAGAT had the impossible task of facing Daisuke Sekimoto one on one. Even with the hard work and crowd behind him, SAGAT fell to the Deadlift German Suplex. Sekimoto gently bowed to SAGAT after the match and left the ring. SAGAT was offered help by Takato Nakano to be taken out of the ring but SAGAT refused and left under his own power. SAGAT said it was impossible for him to beat Sekimoto this year. It will be impossible for him to beat Sekimoto next year. But some year, SAGAT will beat him! Doesn’t matter if it is so long in the future that Sekimoto will be a grandfather when it happens. It will happen!

The recent sale of DDT and all of its franchises has left Gouma Ryu feeling worried. The entire company is a legitimate business now and there is so much that has to change as a result. Ryu can no longer tolerate sneak attacks because it is illegal. He also wants wrestlers to be careful with their kicks because they can cause injuries. Mineo Fujita cut him off with a sneak attack Dropkick to start their tag match. Ryu tried to strike Fujita with his lawbook but Fujita stopped him with a Shining Wizard. Fujita picked up the lawbook but was told by the referee to get rid of it. Fujita dropped the book onto Ryu’s stomach by accident then pinned him with the Swanton Bomb.

Fuminori Abe channeled the abilities of Munenori Sawa to trap Takato Nakano in an Octopus Hold the same way Sawa did. Masamune kept Shiori Asahi at bay to stop the move from being broken.

The next leg of the BASARA Vs Dove Pro feud was highlighted with another 8-Man Tag Team Elimination Match this time with Hardcore rules. The Dove Pro team all entered wearing red baseball jerseys yelling “We are DOVE PRO!”. Isami Kodaka made his entrance wearing a costume made up of combined props from other BASARA wrestlers. He was carrying Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi’s American flag and Gouma Ryu’s law book, wore SAGAT’s feathered headpiece, Takato Nakano’s leggings, Best Stretchman V3 muffler and Yusuke Kubo’s armbands. Dove Pro gained the advantage by eliminated Ryota Nakatsu and Ryuichi Sekine early while only losing “brother” YASSHI on their side. FUMA and Gunso fought on top of a ladder and were both knocked out of the ring when Kodaka was thrown into them. Kodaka was left on his own but he caught Kabuki Kid with a School Boy to bring the match down to himself and Naoki Tanizaki as the final two. They exchanged Elbow Smashes on the apron until Kodaka gave Tanizaki a Vertical Drop Brainbuster onto the apron. Tanizaki then fell off the apron to get eliminated.

BASARA won the match but the fighting continued between the two teams at ringside. Kodaka calmed everyone down and told them to save it for tomorrow’s show. He then asked if Gunso was doing anything on 1st October. That is the date of Kodaka’s 15th Anniversary show in Korakuen Hall. Kodaka would like Gunso and some of the Dove Pro wrestlers to come over to the show. Gunso described the rivalry between BASARA and Dove Pro as an “Endless, Endless Summer”. He said Kodaka’s match with Kenshin Chikano will be the de facto final match of the feud. Chikano promised to make tomorrow an unforgettable day.

Yasu Urano used the referee as a shield to stop SAGAT from hitting a top rope attack. Urano then threw the ref into SAGAT, kicked SAGAT below the belt when the ref was disoriented and pinned SAGAT with an Inside Cradle.

Gouma Ryu said he was intimidated by the skills of his opponents but gained courage when he found out he was teaming with Yusuke Kubo, the man who will be challenging for the Union MAX Title tomorrow. Ryu yelled that he would destroy Kenshin Chikano & Rey Paloma but they easily beat him up.

5. Isami Kodaka defeated “brother” YASSHI with the European Clutch (?:??).

BASARA was invited over to Dove Pro’s house for a weekend series of inter-promotional matches. Day 1 was held in Osaka and BASARA almost dominated the challenge by winning 3 of the 4 inter-promotional matches. Isami Kodaka beat “brother” YASSHI but he was saved from defeat when the referee was knocked down during the match, missing a vital pinfall by YASSHI. Kodaka countered YASSHI’s Locomotion Suplex into the European Clutch to steal the win.

Cavalry were the only losers on team BASARA. They failed to win the DOVE Tag Team Titles from The Gingin BOYS and they blamed the BOYS’ female fans over it.

Both Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi and Rey Paloma ignored Shoichi Uchida for most of the 3 Way Match. They were more focused on wrestling each other until Hiroshi convinced Paloma to sing with him. Hiroshi then rolled Paloma into a pin as they were singing to get the three count.

The 3 Way Tag match was fought under Hardcore Rules and it got violent. SAGAT was unstoppable with the chairs while Takumi Tsukamoto used a ladder to great effect. Their opponents were no match for them and SAGAT got the pin on Kabuki Kid to win. Kid’s partner Gunso had a stare down with SAGAT after the match.

The next day’s show took place in Dove Pro’s home location in Hiroshima. It was highlighted by a crazy 4 Vs 4 Elimination brawl between Dove Pro and BASARA. Kodaka was busted open early after chairshots and a collision with the ring post. He later scored the first elimination over Naoki Tanizaki. Kabuki Kid got rid of Tsukamoto but was then eliminated by Ryuichi Sekine. YASSHI evened the sides by escaping Sekine’s Let’s Combine and pinning him with La Magistral. YASSHI and Kodaka eliminated each other when a tackled took both of them over the top rope and out of the ring. This left SAGAT and Gunso as the last members of each team. Gunso came out on top with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster and the Diving Guillotine Drop.

Chikano pinned Nakatsu with the Buzzsaw Kick for the second show in a row.

Hiroshi and Paloma continued to sing at each other duiring their second match. Hiroshi trapped him in a Cross Armbreaker to win but continued to attack him after the match. Paloma fought him off and hit the Paloma Bomber to make Hiroshi flee out of the ring.

Next up, Dove Pro will be back in BASARA for another inter-promotional challenge series on 23rd & 24th August.
