4. MAO Marunage Match ~ Falls Count Anywhere Tag Match: Hiroshi Yamato & Shunma Katsumata defeated MAO & Sanshiro Takagi when Yamato pinned MAO after Takagi drove into MAO with a car (17:45).
5. DAMNATION Vs DISASTER BOX: Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao defeated HARASHIMA & Yuki Ueno when Sasaki submitted Ueno with the Cross Facelock (13:56).
6. The World’s Most Healthy Numazu Specialty! Special Tag Match: Konosuke Takeshita & Akito defeated Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie when Akito pinned Paulie with an Inside Cradle (14:43).

Things were looking bleak for ALL OUT when for the second show in a row Tetsuya Endo threw Konosuke Takeshita over the top rope from the Torture Rack position to the outside. However Akito was the legal man and he successfully rolled Mad Paulie into an Inside Cradle to win the match out of nowhere. Endo still ran down Takeshita on the microphone. He’s gone past Yukio Sakaguchi, Keisuke Ishii and Makoto Oishi in his KO-D Openweight Title run so far. At Ota Ward Gymnasium Endo promises he will be at his maximum strength. Takeshita’s response is he will increase his own power levels on the road to “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2019”. He will be at 120% when they wrestle at Kasukabe Hall next week then by the time they make it to Ota Ward he will be at 200%!

Takeshita also warned Endo about Sanshiro Takagi waiting for his chance to cash in his Right To Challenge Gauntlet. Takagi came out and told Endo he wasn’t cashing in today. He is instead acting mature and being patient. Akito closed out the show by promoting ALL OUT’s KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles shot against the Sendai Girls and also his next DDT Extreme Title defence.

Daisuke Sasaki continued to attack Yuki Ueno after their match. Naomi Yoshimura came to the rescue and scared off Sasaki. A chair was thrown into the ring by Sasaki but Yoshimura threw it back at him.

At first the new team Big Boss Express looked good together. Sanshiro Takagi used a marker to scribble on Hiroshi Yamato’s back while MAO attacked Shunma Katsumata with an umbrella. The match went outside where MAO stacked Yamato & Katsumata on a table and Takagi jumped off a van to splash through them. MAO held his opponents up while Takagi got in the van and drove towards them. Yamato & Katsumura broke free and got out of the way. MAO didn’t move in time and was hit by the van! He was then pinned right there on the road. Yamato & Katsumura returned to the ring after the match to sing a victory song.

Sakaguchi and Oishi bowed to each other after their match. Oishi can rest easily knowing that he isn’t on Sakaguchi’s kill list.

A Choke Slam from Yukio Naya put Kota Umeda down long enough for Masahiro Takanashi to grab the win. Naya and Kazusada Higuchi both said they had fun fighting each other and are looking forward to a singles match together.

Match #2 featured a lot of teased kissing spots. Yoshimura was left frozen for a kiss from Nobuhiro Shimatani that never came. He didn’t snap out until well after the match was over.

6. I Really Like The Sunset Seen At Watarase Bridge! Ashikaga Specialty Special 6-Man Tag Match: Daisuke Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo & Soma Takao defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Akito & Shunma Katsumata when Endo submitted Katsumata with the Modified Yurikamome Hold (20:19).

Tetsuya Endo gave Konosuke Takeshita a Low Blow and then threw him out of the ring from the Torture Rack position before getting the submission win on Shunma Katsumata.

Yukio Naya tried to Power Bomb Makoto Oishi onto HARASHIMA but HARASHIMA rolled out of the way. Naomi Yoshimura got Naya out of the way while HARASHIMA hit Oishi with the Somato for the win. Yoshimura said backstage that Naya is different from the other heavyweights in DDT. But that doesn’t mean he’s scared of him. HARASHIMA wants Naya to wrestle a variety of wrestlers in DDT so he can expand his potential.

Here is the list of the costume changes in Match #3. Masahiro Takanashi dressed as Antonio Honda, Honda dressed as Takanashi, Keisuke Ishii dressed as Hisaya Imabayashi, Kota Umeda was dressed as the referee, Yuki Ueno was dressed as Umeda, Imabayashi was dressed as Ueno and the referee was dressed as Ishii. Tomomitsu Matsunaga didn’t have to change costumes so he got to be himself.

A 10 bell tribute was given to the late Atsushi Aoki at the start of the show.

Matsuyama Famous Special 8-Man Tag Match That Keeps Running With The Times: Tatsumi Fujinami, Konosuke Takeshita, Akito & Shunma Katsumata defeated Yoshiaki Yatsu, Sanshiro Takagi, Yukio Naya & Rising HAYATO when Fujinami submitted Naya with the Dragon Sleeper (12:27).

*V2 for DAMNATION.
8. KO-D Openweight Title: Tetsuya Endo (c) defeated Yukio Sakaguchi with the Shooting Star Press (14:31).
*V3 for Tetsuya Endo.

Yukio Sakaguchi’s roaring rampage of revenge has been stopped dead by Tetsuya Endo. The only times Sakaguchi was able to put Endo in a Sleeper Hold was once over the ropes and a second time quickly afterwards. Endo made his opponent even more angry when he hit a Low Kick to Sakaguchi’s back. Sakaguchi responded in kind. It took a combination of a Sit Down Power Bomb, the Swinging Torture Rack Bomb and a Handspring Leg Lariat to put Sakaguchi in danger. Endo then finished him off with the Shooting Star Press.

The “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2019” on 15th July is now set. Endo will be defending the KO-D Openweight Title against his biggest enemy Konosuke Takeshita! That is unless Sanshiro Takagi cashes in the last remaining Right To Challenge Gauntlet and wins the belt before that. Takagi says he will cash in while Endo is in a perfect state. Takeshita is happy to wait a little bit and let those two fight over the title if it happens before “WRESTLE PETER PAN”. Endo called out Takeshita for being Takagi’s favourite and he promised to beat Takeshita inside Ota Ward Gymnasium.

It was a fair effort from Kazuki Hirata & Maku Donaruto but not enough to win the KO-D Tag Team Titles. Donaruto’s lewd exploits kept DAMNATION off their game. Stripping down to a gold thong and diving onto people can do that to an opponent. He wiped out Daisuke Sasaki with a Quebrada while Hirata and Soma Takao fought over the Viagra Driver. Takao got the upper hand and pinned Hirata with the Reverse Gory Special Bomb. DAMNATION’s next title defence will be at “WRESTLE PETER PAN” but Sasaki said they will decide who they will fight and also where. DAMNATION wants to decide everything by their ways.

ALL OUT had the honour of teaming with Tatsumi Fujinami for a special 8-Man Tag against a diverse team lead by Yoshiaki Yatsu. It was the first time Takeshita and Fujinami were in the ring together since their singles match back in 2013. Takagi tried adding lucha libre to the match and Rising HAYATO stepped in to help however he could. Yukio Naya stepped up to both Fujinami and Takeshita but the experience level was far too high for him to overcome. Fujinami would put him in the Dragon Sleeper to get the submission victory.

HARASHIMA was in a thankful mood as always. He was thankful to Yuki Ueno & Naomi Yoshimura for their part in DISASTER BOX’s victory today. He is also thankful for the fans for coming to see today’s big show in Matsuyama.

It was expected that Ryutaro Watanabe would lose to Hideki Suzuki but he went down fighting. He fought out of Suzuki’s Double Arm Suplex but Suzuki kicked him repeatedly until the referee stopped the match. Suzuki’s advice for Watanabe is to never run away if he wants to keep wrestling.

Saki Akai declined to shake hands with Mina Shirakawa until after their match. Akai rolled away from a Casadora and hit a High Kick, setting up the match winning Quetzalcoatl.

There were a lot of Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title changes on this show. After the opening match Danshoku Dieno was chased into the ring by Hiroshi Yamato and Pulp Bonjin. Dieno fought them off but Nobuhiro Shimatani snuck in and pinned him with a School Boy to win the title. Then in the Battle Royal the belt went from Shimatani to Mad Paulie to Asuka to the eventual match winner Makoto Oishi. The governor of Ehime Tokihiro Nakamura entered the ring for a congratulatory photo with Oishi but that was interrupted by an attack by Asuka and Toru Owashi. Governor Nakamura then surprised everyone by jumping on top of Oishi to become the new champion! Dieno chased the governor away then later came back to the ring with the belt, informing everyone he had won the championship backstage. Oishi gave Dieno a Low Blow and pinned him. Then Owashi gave Oishi a Choke Slam for the final title change of the day.

Former Shuten-dōji members Masahiro Takanashi and Kota Umeda faced off as one of Umeda’s final matches before he leaves DDT next month. Takanashi went for a bunch of Cradles until Umeda dropped him with the Umeda Driver.

6. King Of DDT 2019 – Round 2: Soma Takao defeated Akito with the Reverse Gory Special Bomb (9:10).
7. King Of DDT 2019 – Round 2: Konosuke Takeshita defeated Naomi Yoshimura with the Caballo 2020 (14:46).
8. King Of DDT 2019 – Round 2: HARASHIMA defeated Daisuke Sasaki with the Somato (12:59).

We are now down to four in the King Of DDT and one of them is making a miraculous comeback. HARASHIMA won the opening match Battle Royal to re-enter the tournament then in the main event defeated Daisuke Sasaki to reach the semi-finals. Konosuke Takeshita used a new version of the Camel Clutch called the Caballo 2020 to beat Naomi Yoshimura by submission. Soma Takao continues to be unbeatable when he uses the Reverse Gory Special Bomb, this time getting the win over Akito. Last but not least Kazusada Higuchi beat Masahiro Takanashi in a match where Takanashi had none of his lookalikes around to help him.

The semi-final draw was held at the end to determine who faces who at Korakuen Hall on 19th May. Takeshita and Higuchi picked the blue balls out of the box while HARASHIMA and Takao grabbed the pink ones. So we’re getting Takeshita Vs Higuchi and HARASHIMA Vs Takao!

Yukio Sakaguchi and Tetsuya Endo spent a lot of time fighting each other in their tag match. Sakaguchi put Endo in a Sleeper Hold at ringside and kept him held there while Koji Yoshida hit the Emerald Flowsion on Nobuhiro Shimatani.

Tomoya gave a speech about his recent election into the Noboribetsu City Council. He said that back in 2012 a one year old infant in his region died from abuse. Ever since then he has wanted to stop bullying and abusive behaviour which led to him running for the city council. He thanked everyone for their continued support.

After intermission Sanshiro Takagi was asked when he would like to cash in his Right To Challenge Gauntlet for a KO-D Openweight Title match. He said he is 49 years old now but will be hiring a personal trainer so he can get back into the shape he was in 10 years ago. He probably won’t cash in his Gauntlet until he reaches that goal. Suddenly MAO and Yuki Ueno interrupted the interview and dared to set up an anal explosion inside the venue. Takagi stopped them by announcing he will defend his Gauntlet in a match that will include MAO and Ueno on 19th May.

DDT’s return to Sapporo on 5th and 6th October will be part of a co-sponsored series with Big Japan.

7. You And Me Yellow Cherries Next Door! Yamagata Specialty Special 6-Man Tag Match: Daisuke Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie defeated HARASHIMA, Naomi Yoshimura & Makoto Oishi when Sasaki submitted Oishi with the Cross Facelock (17:22).

Daisuke Sasaki told the audience that he hasn’t gone out of the house much during Golden Week this year so he’s had plenty of spare time on his hands. Tetsuya Endo said there are two kinds of people in the world, a superstar from Shiroishi like himself and other countrymen.

Konosuke Takeshita used the Gongitsune eye pokes from the ring apron to blind Yuki Ueno and put him in position for the Fable. Antonio Honda followed up with the Diving Fist Drop to win the match for the reunited Happy Motels duo. Five years have passed since that day the unit was formed. Honda thanked everyone for seeing him and Takeshita together again today.

Liberties were taken to turn the ring from a squared circle to a hexagon for the T2P tribute match. Tiger ropes were applied in two opposite corners of the ring to cut off the turnbuckles and vaguely create the two extra sides needed to make a hexagon ring. As part of the match rules, Masahiro Takanashi and Kazuki Hirata were penalised points for every rope break they made. Takanashi won when he set Hirata up for the Takatonic but instead turned it into the Palo Special for the submission. Takanashi left the match wondering why Sanshiro Takagi wasn’t present in the ring when it was supposed to be his Marunage match.

9. King Of DDT 2019 – Round 1: Konosuke Takeshita defeated Yuki Ueno with a Zahi (20:45).

The King Of DDT 2019 first round saw seven wrestlers advance to Round 2. However hope is not all lost for those who were defeated today. The winners all met in the ring at the end of the show to face each other. However Masahiro Takanashi went missing and was instead represented by Baliyan Akki wearing the same clothes. Daisuke Sasaki carried a long bamboo stick with him while Naomi Yoshimura put his full attention on Konosuke Takeshita. When that was happening Tetsuya Endo came out wearing a full suit and using Nobuhiro Shimatani as a stepping stool to get in and out of the ring. Endo announced he will soon choose one of the seven “little fish” that lost today to defend the KO-D Openweight Title against on 2nd June.

The King Of DDT Round 2 matches are Kazusada Higuchi Vs Masahiro Takanashi, Soma Takao Vs Akito, Naomi Yoshimura Vs Konosuke Takeshita and Daisuke Sasaki Vs the winner of the Losers Battle Royal.

Friendships don’t matter in this tournament. Takeshita proved this after his match with Yuki Ueno. He looked like he was lifting Ueno back to his feet but instead Takeshita threw him out of the ring! Ueno got back into the ring and Takeshita offered a handshake but it was kicked away. Takeshita explained backstage that he was sending a message that he is still No. 1 in DDT. This is how strong his desire is to win. He is always driven but now he should be showing he is something to be feared.

HARASHIMA is entering a bit of a slump. He lost the DDT Extreme Title yesterday and today got eliminated in the 1st Round by Akito. Although Akito is happy with the win he is not convinced that he has surpassed HARASHIMA because he only pinned him with a cradle.

Masahiro Takanashi had to be at his trickiest to beat MAO. He grabbed a chair to distract Yukinori Matsui while Baliyan Akki entered the ring to attack MAO while disguised as Takanashi. MAO later did the Spaceman Plancha but Akki took the blow instead of Takanashi. Then Shota stepped up to the ring disguised as a fan to blow a party popper in MAO’s face. Takanashi used the distraction to pin MAO with a Backslide and advance to Round 2.

More cheating happened down the card as Daisuke Sasaki low blowed Yukio Sakaguchi en route to winning his match with his feet on the ropes.

Last year Kazuki Hirata began his miracle run in the tournament by beating Naomi Yoshimura. Sadly, this year is not going to be the same. This time around Yoshimura beat Hirata to avenge what happened a year ago. A lot has changed since that match. Hirata and Yoshimura are now on the same side in DISASTER BOX for example. They agreed to let bygones be bygones for the sake of their unit.

The Reverse Gory Special Bomb has immediately become a killer move for Soma Takao. In two days he has pinned both members of The Moonlight Express with it. He has learned the move in order to win the KO-D Title from Tetsuya Endo at “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2019” in July. Today’s result was so easy for Takao he is acting like he didn’t even wrestle and he is advancing to Round 2 on a bye!

Memories of DNA were floating through the heads of Kazusada Higuchi and Kota Umeda as they fought each other. But just like back then Higuchi was the one with his arm raised at the end. He faced off with Akki at the end of the show thinking it was Takanashi. All he noticed was the guy he confronted looked more serious than drunk today.

Wait I thought yesterday was Keisuke Okuda’s farewell match. Oh well, here’s another one.

For five years Shuten-dōji were a constant presence on DDT shows from opening matches at touring shows to midcard bouts in Korakuen Hall all the way up to the main event of Sumo Hall. But time has been called on the unit and the three members (plus their allies) are ready to go their separate ways. Their popularity made them win last year’s unit category in the Dramatic General Election so they were owed a show to produce by themselves. This was the perfect chance for Shuten-dōji to say goodbye and get their last calls in.

For the main event Yukio Sakaguchi and Masahiro Takanashi faced off in a singles match. Both had each other scouted late in the match with Takanashi kicking out Sakaguchi’s ankle to escape the Cobra Clutch. Sakaguchi also fought his way out of the Takatonic and caught his friend with a big kick when Takanashi went to roll him into a pin. The two pressed their foreheads together knowing the match was about to end. Sakaguchi then stepped back to the opposite corner and struck Takanashi with the God’s Right Knee for the win.

KUDO joined them in the ring after the match. He reminded everyone he will be taking a break from pro wrestling for a while but when he comes back he will have no choice but to do so with his best friends in front of the best fans. He doesn’t know when his return will happen but he wants everyone to wait for that day. Sakaguchi said he and his “brothers” have seen it all together. He admitted he was scared to do this match with Takanashi today but it ended up being fun.

For KUDO’s last match he got to team with HARASHIMA one more time against The Suicide Boyz of MIKAMI & Tanomusaku Toba. HARASHIMA marked the occasion by wearing a HERO! mask to the ring. KUDO got the victory when he hit Toba with a Buzzsaw Kick and pinned him with the Diving Double Knee Drop. The four posed for a photograph afterwards and KUDO left the ring to large cheers from the fans.

The Brahman Brothers were the winners of the tag gauntlet but they refused to accept the prize of a year’s worth of meals from Ebisuko Tavern. Instead Gorgeous Matsuno, who helped them beat Emi Sakura & Riho at the end of the gauntlet, accepted the prize on their behalf. He also said he will continue to team with them in the future and together they want to win a trios championship again!

Before the gauntlet began, Poison Sawada JULIE transformed several wrestlers backstage into his snake servants so they could do a group dance for his team’s entrance.

The Heisei and Showa generations of the fashion world went to war and in this atmosphere Saki Akai showed a violent side to her never seen before. Akai attacked Rina Yamashita with a bamboo sword then tried to smother Naomi Yoshimura by pressing a plastic bag into his mouth! Kazusada Higuchi was also vile because he grabbed Yamashita’s Pikachu rucksack and pulled its tail off! It was only because of a misfired attack by Higuchi that Yoshimura was able to cradle Akai into a pin to sneak away with a victory. The pin was fatal because Akai was left motionless afterwards. Higuchi was so upset that he sang a song called “The Road” while images representing the Showa era were displayed on the video screen. Miraculously, Akai regained consciousness and everyone joined in with the song. On a more serious note, Akai thanked Shuten-dōji in her backstage interview for becoming her older brothers in the wrestling world. They taught her how to enjoy wrestling inside the ring as well as how to celebrate with drinks afterwards.

There were two unannounced matches added to the show. One was the surprise appearance of Michael Nakazawa from AEW against DJ Nira in a match where anything goes. The stipulation turned out to be a poor idea because whenever it looked liked somebody would win MAO, Nobuhiro Shimatani and even Hisaya Imabayashi would enter the ring and break the pin so the match would continue. They enjoyed the match up between Nakazawa and Nira so much that they wanted them to fight forever! Even when Nakazawa or Nira wanted to give up the others prevented the referees from stopping the match. Mayhem broke out between the wrestlers, Imabayashi, Daisuke Kiso and Yukinori Matsui until all of them had fallen from each others attacks. With no end in sight and everybody out of action the room lights shut off so the show could finally move on.

The other surprise match was former Shuten-dōji member Kota Umeda taking on Hikaru Sato! The match had plenty of stiff kicks but Sato’s submission expertise was the difference maker.

The show began with Shuten-dōji coming out but they didn’t look like themselves. It was actually Chinsuke Nakamura dressed as KUDO, Gota Ihashi dressed as Sakaguchi (including body tattoos) and Shota dressed as Takanashi! The real Shuten-dōji interrupted the parody speech and chased off the imitators.

The closing moments of the show had all of the wrestlers gathering in the ring to share a toast for Shuten-dōji. They then left leaving just KUDO, Sakaguchi and Takanashi alone in the ring for one more toast by themselves. They then placed their cups down on the ring mat along with the bottle of sake and went their separate ways.

Every match in the tournament has no time limit. The big match of note is the rematch of Round 1’s final bout from 2018, Kazuki Hirata against Naomi Yoshimura. Hirata was a last minute replacement and he defeated Yoshimura to start a miracle run in the 32 man tournament. Yuki Ueno Vs Konosuke Takeshita is a match between two friends and generational rivals. Akito against HARASHIMA may be a preview of a future DDT Extreme Title match since Akito is challenging for that belt in May. Mike Bailey and Soma Takao are currently clashing in the chaos that is the KO-D Tag Team Titles scene. Last one to keep an eye on is Kazusada Higuchi Vs Kota Umeda. Those two click as both opponents and tag partners.
