It was a good homecoming for Ryota Nakatsu. He got to come back to Kyoto as the Union MAX Champion and get the win in the main event too. He described the main event as the power of Sparky and the power of Kyoto.

That was proven over the weekend when Endo submitted Oishi in the main event of Sunday’s show. Oishi thinks he has a chance because he could outsmart Endo with his wrestling knowledge. Endo thinks he has everything in his arsenal to beat Oishi anyway no matter how Oishi uses his head when they wrestle.

There is a lot of craziness surrounding the KO-D Tag Team Titles match. Konosuke Takeshita challenged the new champions DAMNATION because he wants to get revenge for losing the KO-D Title to Daisuke Sasaki in New York. The Moonlight Express want to get their rematch because they are the former champions. Newcomers Ricky Starks & Mike Rollins saw an opportunity to get involved in the title picture and also want to be in the match. So we are getting a 4 Way Match for the belts. Now there is a new bump in the road for ALL OUT because it was announced today that Shunma Katsumata is out of action for an undetermined amount of time with a left ankle injury.

West Army: Ryota Nakatsu, Akiyori Takizara, Takumi Tsukamoto, Fuminori Abe, Takato Nakano, Masato Kamino, Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga

An 8 Vs 8 Gauntlet match split the BASARA roster into two teams, one consisting of wrestlers from the west side of Japan and the other the east side of Japan. The number 8 was a constant theme of the competition with an 8 minute time limit, an 8 second ring out, an 8 second foul count and 8 total seconds of pinning the opponent to beat them.

Isami Kodaka Vs Fuminori Abe was team captain versus team captain and ended in a time limit draw. FUMA scored first for the East Army by beating Akiyori Takizawa. A second draw happened when FUMA and Banana Senga pinned each other during a Small Package spot. Ryuichi Sekine scored two eliminations by beating Takato Nakano and Masato Kamino one after the other. Tsutomu Oosugi stopped his run by countering the Let’s Combine into a cradle. Chaos broke out during Oosugi Vs Yasu Urano when wrestlers from both teams interfered in the match causing a double DQ. With the battle lines refreshed, Takumi Tsukamoto defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi then got into a double countout with Daichi Kazato for the third tie. Another time limit draw happened with SAGAT and Ryota Nakatsu. The outcome of that meant Daiki Shimomura was the last wrestler left so the East Army were going to win by default. However Abe asked for one final match with no time limit to properly determine a winner. It was accepted and Abe was able to beat Shimomura to crown the West Army as the winners! The show ended with Abe inviting all the wrestlers from north, south, east and west to count up to eight with him.

Off To New York, BASARA 8s, Itoh Challenges Kong

April 1, 2019

One last news update before I begin travelling for Mania week. The “DDT IS COMING TO AMERICA” guide is done and has been posted. I’ll be gone for two weeks but this time I’m bringing a laptop with me so results and maybe even a report will be posted in good time. The La Boom show will be the only DDT related wrestling event I’ll be attending during the week. Sadly that means missing their involvement with the Kaiju Big Battel shows which is a crossover I would have loved to see in person. But hey, maybe I’ll witness a sea lion win the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title when I go visit the Central Park zoo or something.

Also I have one piece of advice for people going to New York for a long vacation during this period. Avoid the Knicks games. It’s just not worth it this season.

From 29th April to 6th May, Thunder Rosa will be debuting and appearing at all of the Tokyo Joshi Pro shows. Rosa is 27 years old from Tijuana, Mexico. She appeared in Lucha Underground as Kobra Moon and previously wrestled in Japan for Stardom. Her nickname is “La Mera Mera Unstoppable”.

2. Turnabout Pro Wrestling Trial: Akiyori Takizawa defeated Gouma Ryu Vs Banana Senga when Takizawa pinned Ryu and Senga with a Reverse DDT and Choke Slam combo (9:53).
3. Jun Masaoka defeated Daiki Shimomura with the 2trap (9:38).
4. Aiseki Tag Vs Trans-Am ★ Family: Ikuto Hidaka & Fuminori Abe defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Trans-Am ★ Tomato when Hidaka pinned Hiroshi with the Japanese Ocean Cyclone Suplex (10:40).
5. Sparky Vs Stretchmen!: Ryota Nakatsu & Naoki Tanizaki defeated Best Stretchman V3 & Best Stretchman Amazon when Nakatsu pinned V3 with the V Slider (9:53).
6. Yokohama Shopping Street 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Isami Kodaka, Minoru Fujita & Ryuichi Sekine defeated FUMA, Yusuke Kubo & SAGAT (c) when Sekine submitted Kubo with the Let’s Combine (14:48).
*The Iron Family fails in V1. Sento Minzoku becomes the 30th Yokohama Shopping Street 6-Man Tag Team Champions!

What on Earth happened here? A week ago The Iron Family win the Yokohama Shopping Street 6-Man Tag Team Titles and today in their first defence they lose the belts to Sento Minzoku! A win looked certain when FUMA stopped Ryuichi Sekine from doing the Let’s Combine on Yusuke Kubo. FUMA hit Sekine with a High Kick to the head, SAGAT did the Crucifixion Of Death and Kubo applied the Death Metal Roll. Luckily for Sekine, Isami Kodaka and Minoru Fujita were there to break the pin. Kubo went for the Goro Suplex several times but Sekine was able to avoid it and catch Kubo in the Let’s Combine for the unexpected submission victory!

FUMA demanded a rematch and encouraged the crowd to agree with him. However his appeal was cut off by a voice saying that they are owed a rematch first. The voice was coming from Abdullah Kobayashi and he was accompanied by Yoshihisa Uto & Hideki Suzuki! The previous champions came here today to get their titles back. Kodaka talked down to Uto by only recognising him as the wrestler he beat in Big Japan yesterday. He saw the mess this situation was becoming and came up with an idea to do a 3 Way Trios title match next month between Sento Minzoku, The Iron Family and the Kobayashi Gundan. The other teams agreed and left, allowing Kodaka to give attention to Sekine for winning the match.

The encounters between Ryota Nakatsu and Best Stretchman V3 in the semi-main event fired up V3. His hood was accidentally removed when he escaped from the V Slider and V3 was left vulnerable to a High Kick as he tried to fix it. V3 ignored his costume malfunction to continue fighting but he was put away with the V Slider. V3 had a bloody nose but he demanded a Union MAX Title shot against Nakatsu for next month. Nakatsu was confused by the challenge because he just beat him but he also sensed a fire burning inside of V3 when they fought so he accepted. V3 then said that BSM stands for something other than Best Stretchman. For this match the B stands for Best, the S stands for Sparky and the M stands for the wrestler that came from Union Pro who will become the next Union Max Champion! Yeah, nobody really understands why he thinks the M stands for that…

A recent online situation involving Manami Toyota and Bea Priestley revealed that Toyota has given permission to only two people for using her Japanese Ocean Cyclone Suplex: Tsukasa Fujimoto and Ikuto Hidaka. Today Hidaka used the move to win his tag match when Fuminori Abe reminded him he has Toyota’s blessing to do it.

The 2trap is Jun Masaoka’s version of the Tornado Clutch. When he beat Daiki Shimomura he pointed over to Kodaka, implying he wants to fight him next.

Akiyori Takizawa was put in court for a very dangerous crime in Japan, possession of cocaine! The prosecutor Banana Senga wanted to cite Pierre Taki as reference for the case but everyone cut him off because they didn’t want to get into any trouble. The referee was asked to give Takizawa a physical examination and he discovered white powder hidden in Takizawa’s kneepad. The defence lawyer Gouma Ryu identified the powder as just ordinary salt that Takizawa likes to use on his boiled eggs. However more white powder was found so Ryota Nakatsu and Naoki Tanizaki were called in as witnesses. Senga told everyone that the eye blacks seen on the Sparky wrestlers’ faces was actually signs of drug addiction! The topic of ASUKA PROJECT closing down was then brought up which caused Ryu and Senga to join forces and attack Takizawa. He fought both of them off to prove his innocence, pinning the two with a Choke Slam and Reverse DDT combo.

In 2017 DDT went to CyberAgent headquarters to cause some havoc with their Rojo Pro Wrestling show. Some time has passed and DDT is ready to create more havoc in the workplace, this time over in Abema Towers. The reason for this is because Danshoku Dieno once again wants to search for the CyberAgent president. The last time he did this his plot was to frame the president with a gay love scandal so the company stock would plummet. Dieno would then buy up the stock and rebuild the company in his own image.

Wrestlers advertised to appear on the show include Shiro Koshinaka, Sanshiro Takagi, Danshoku Dieno, Konosuke Takeshita, HARASHIMA, MAO, Isami Kodaka and Miyu Yamashita. Other guests include Tenshin Nasukawa, Kurochan and gravure idol Yuka Kuramochi.

The wrestlers who are not going to America next month for DDT’s show in New York have been given the book for their own show taking place in Shin-Kiba 1st RING on the same day. With Hisaya Imabayashi guiding them, the wrestlers have held regular meetings to put their card together. DDT management have been so impressed by the project so far that they are giving more chances for wrestlers to book their own matches on future shows.

There are three definite KO-D Openweight Title matches on schedule for the next few months, no matter who the champion is. If Konosuke Takeshita can beat Jiro Kuroshio at the end of this month and survive any Right To Challenge cash ins, then his next defence will be on 28th April.

There is nothing more exciting in wrestling for Antonio Honda than fighting for the DDT Extreme Title. So when he had the chance to challenge HARASHIMA for the belt he wasted no time in taking it. That mean Honda entered the ring wearing only his shirts, underwear and socks. Now that’s commitment.

Hiroshi Yamato and Asuka will be on the show.
