Some of the wrestlers performed karaoke before the matches began. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi, Antonio Honda, Takumi Tsukamoto and Lil’ Kraken all took part. Kraken actually did a diss track aimed at Rikiya Shindo instead of karaoke.

The first few IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT matches in the opening round saw Yasu Urano & Antonio Honda and also Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Daichi Kazato going through. Hiroshi & Kazato will face Ryota Nakatsu & Kazusada Higuchi in Round 2 on 24th October. The winners of that match will face Urano & Honda in the semi-final on 7th November.

4. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 1: Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita defeated FUMA & KUBITO when Shimomura pinned FUMA with the Asai DDT (16:20).
5. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 1: Takumi Tsukamoto & SAGAT defeated Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino when SAGAT pinned Nakano with the Goregrind (13:49).

The remaining 1st Round matches had Takumi Tsukamoto & SAGAT as well as Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita both advancing. Tsukamoto & SAGAT will meet Lil’ Kraken & Leo Isaka in Round 2 on 24th October. The winners of that match will face Shimomura & Fujita in the semi-final on 7th November.

IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT 2023

The IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT is back for the first time since 2020. It is also going to be the first time the reigning IRON FIST Tag Team Champions will be competing in the tournament. The 2020 tournament was held to determine the No. 1 Contenders and the 2019 edition was to crown the first champions. Every playoff match has a 30 minute time limit except for the final which has no time limit. If a match ends in a draw then both teams are eliminated. The teams taking part are:

FUMA defended the Union MAX Title against the first of what he says is several people he owes a debt to. According to FUMA some of those people are in BASARA and others like Eisa8 are from outside the promotion. Eisa8 was somebody he had never beaten by himself until today.

Today was Sparky’s last match together as a unit. However none of the members are retiring and know they will continue being in the ring together one way or another.

5. Enter Kazato The Road To The Death Game Of Anger: Choun-Shiryu defeated Daichi Kazato with the Project A (23:22).

Today’s show was all put together by Asian Kung Fu Revolution. Each member of the unit all promised the fans will never know what is going to happen in the matches. For example, Daichi Kazato challenged Choun-Shiryu to a match because he cannot stand the fact there is a person who is more Asian and Kung Fu than Asian Kung Fu Revolution. The two agreed to fight under Game Of Death rules. It featured a large rubber band attached to one of the ropes as well as a balance ball, an iron pot and a ladle for the wrestlers to use a weapons. Kazato held onto the balance ball while he did the Mad Splash but missed and bounced across the ring. Shiryu then gave him the Chinese Gory Special Bomb onto the ball and won the match by hitting the Project A (similar to the Coffin Drop) for the pin. After the match Kazato revealed that when he was a high school student he was invited by Shiryu to train pro wrestling with him. He thinks what he learned that day has helped him survive the business ever since and he wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for Shiryu.

Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi claimed he spent a lot of money to bring over a bunch of Hollywood stars for Asian Kung Fu Revolution to fight against. Sylvester Uranone wanted to show off his Rocky skills so he had a boxing showdown with Hiroshi. Kaminold Schwarzenegger spent the match posing in his underwear until it was discovered that his urine test came back positive for a banned substance so he was taken out of the match. FUMA then shot both Uranone and Jason Abeham with his hunting rifle before accidentally shooting KUBITO. Next up, Fuminori Abe came out dressed like The Rock and was followed by SAGAT dressed like Dude Love. FUMA shot them both. Schwarzenegger returned, this time as a Terminator to stop FUMA. With all of this chaos going on, Hiroshi began to sing in the hopes that everyone would get along. They did, even the people who were shot. Since everybody was now holding hands and bringing peace to the world, the match was declared a no contest.

Today was the first time Ryota Nakatsu wrestled against a Mexican luchador so he wanted to try and copy Hijo del Alebrije’s style. He himself admits he wasn’t very good at it but he was able to adjust and pin Alebrije with a Back Roll Clutch. It is a wrestling style he would like to try again.

I still don’t get why Match #2 was called a 6-Man Tag when there were only four wrestlers involved.

Yesterday Kazuki Hirata and Yukio Sakaguchi met with Hisaya Imabayashi to sign the contract for their DDT Extreme Title match. Hirata admitted he could not think of a match stipulation in time but promised he would come up with something that Sakaguchi would be pleased with. Sakaguchi signed the contract and Hirata suddenly burst into laughter. He actually did come up with rules and Sakaguchi cannot back out now. The match Hirata wants is a Ghost & Balloon Death Match! The match can be won and lost as normal but whenever there is a kickout or rope break either a “Ghost” or a “Balloon” will enter the ring. It turns out that Sakaguchi does not like either ghosts or balloons so Hirata figured out he can use that information to unsettle his opponent. His point was proven when he took out a pair of rubber gloves, blew them up like balloons and then popped them, causing Sakaguchi to flee the room.

Several matches on the show are being sponsored by different beauty products and salon businesses.

Akai is already booked on the show so DDT decided to put together a 3 Way Match between Hirata, Antonio Honda and… the photobook. This is now going to be the second Saki Akai photobook to wrestle in DDT. The first one is a former Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion because of course it would be! It even beat The Young Bucks autobiography to win it.

The second challenger for Kodaka quickly made himself known over the weekend. Shinichiro Tominaga had a brief stare down with Kodaka at the Ganbare☆Pro show on Sunday afternoon and then later that evening threw out the challenge after he beat Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi in BASARA. The two wrestlers go way back to the final years of Union Pro. Tominaga came into the promotion at the beginning of 2012 as the hot new rookie with a lot of promise behind him. His run in that promotion only lasted 6 months of ring time when he fractured his forearm. Then when 2012 rolled around he declined to renew his contract and went back to the lower independents. It is a decision that has stayed on his mind ever since. Was he right or wrong to leave back then? He eventually bounced back by finding GanPro and becoming a regular part of their shows. He now thinks he is able to catch up with Kodaka. If he beats him for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title then it will prove he made the right choice all those years ago.

Soma Takao will be on the show.

Sparky’s final match as a group is against the full force of Sento Minzoku in an Elimination Match.

Kohei Kinoshita will also be on the show, going along with Tanizaki as the second Dove Pro representative.

Takumi Tsukamoto is now a double crown champion after he reclaimed the CCW Canadian Heavyweight Title as well as defending the Union MAX Title in the main event. He was able to counter SAGAT’s Argentine Backbreaker into a Crooked Headscissors to score the win. After the match both Ryota Nakatsu and FUMA entered the ring to challenge Tsukamoto for the MAX Title. Tsukamoto wants his next defence to take place at the 29th August Shin-Kiba 1st RING show because BASARA will be back to serving drinks Beer Garden style on that date. Nakatsu and FUMA agreed to face each other on 6th August to determine who the No. 1 Contender will be.

There is no need to call Sento Minzoku interim champions anymore because they defeated Aijin Tag to unify the IRON FIST Tag Team Titles! The new champions Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita are already set to hold their first defence on 29th August against Speed Of Sounds. The result comes as a blow for Masato Kamino because this was his return match from injury. At least Takato Nakano is happy to have his tag team partner back.

While El Desperado was paying DDT a visit over at Sumo Hall, BASARA welcomed in SHO as their big New Japan guest in Korakuen Hall. SHO didn’t take kindly to Isami Kodaka taking so long with his entrance. He took the match outside and attacked Kodaka with some of the ringside chairs. SHO then made the mistake of arguing with the referee for quickly enforcing the rules, allowing Kodaka to make a comeback. Kodaka almost won with the Diving Double Knee Drop but SHO kicked out, gave him a Low Blow and applied the Snakebite to make him submit. After the match SHO said their battle was settled and Kodaka now has to carry around his luggage like a rookie. The rest of Sento Minzoku complained but Kodaka obliged. Then Kodaka ran off with SHO’s luggage while Sento Minzoku stopped SHO from chasing after him!

A double championship match headlines BASARA’s return to Korakuen Hall next month. SAGAT won the Chouten ~Itadaki~ and challenged Takumi Tsukamoto for the Union MAX Title afterwards. That’s not all because SAGAT also offered to defend the CCW Canadian Heavyweight Title he won from Tsukamoto back in March.

Masato Kamino is fit for return from his knee injury so he & Takato Nakano can go reclaim the IRON FIST Tag Team Titles. They are still technically the champions but Kamino’s injury caused an interim title to be created in his absence. Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita from Sento Minzoku won that prize but would prefer to be acknowledged as the actual champions. That all leads to the unification match happening at Korakuen.

BASARA takes on New Japan when Isami Kodaka faces SHO! Interactions between the two at “ALL STAR JR FESTIVAL 2023” earlier this year weren’t forgotten by either wrestler so the challenge was thrown out for a singles match. Kodaka even told SHO he would be happy to fight under normal rules instead of Hardcore or a death match. His reason for that decision is to prove he does not need to use weapons to beat SHO. Can SHO truthfully say the same given his reputation as a House Of Torture member? A lot of pride is on the line because Kodaka sees himself as a big figure on the independent scene facing the challenge of New Japan head on.

Nothing has been decided on this yet but Ryota Nakatsu said he wants to team with Ryuichi Sekine again on the show. They used to be together in BASARA as Cavalry. However Nakatsu just wants this to be a one time reunion. He is still a member of Sparky, although that unit is about to begin winding down. Nakatsu eventually wants all four members of Sparky to get together again so they can send it off and go their seperate ways. That won’t be happening anytime soon because of Naoki Tanizaki and Akiyori Takizawa’s schedules so that gives Nakatsu the chance to reunite with Sekine in the meantime.

17th August, 2013 was the date when Miyu Yamashita and Shoko Nakajima had their professional debut match on the pre-show of a DDT Sumo Hall show. They teamed together in a losing effort against the two other first generation TJPW wrestlers Chikage Kiba & KANNA. It’s perfect timing that the next “TJPW INSPIRATION” show is booked on the 10 year anniversary of that match. The main event will be Yamashita against Nakajima one on one for the first time since “GRAND PRINCESS ’22”.

Saki Akai will also be on the show because the 10th anniversary of her own debut pro wrestling match is one day off. Her first DDT bout happened the next day. Now there’s a bit of trivia that will catch people off guard. Miyu Yamashita, Shoko Nakajima and Saki Akai all debuted on the same weekend. And Akai debuted AFTER the other two.

2. Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023 – B Block Final: Ryota Nakatsu defeated Fuminori Abe with the V Slider (9:10).
3. Roundabout Pro Wrestling Trial: Shiori Asahi defeated Banana Senga and Gouma Ryu when Asahi pinned Senga and Ryu with a Flying Kendo Press (6:41).
4. Isami Kodaka & Minoru Fujita defeated Daichi Kazato & Tsutomu Oosugi when Fujita pinned Oosugi with the Tombstone Piledriver (10:40).
5. Takumi Tsukamoto, Takato Nakano & Yasu Urano defeated FUMA, Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Lil’ Kraken when Tsukamoto pinned Hiroshi with an Ouchi-gari (13:48).
6. Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023 – Final: SAGAT defeated Ryota Nakatsu with the Goregrind (17:57).

As a result of winning the Chouten ~Itadaki~ tournament this year SAGAT gets to challenge Takumi Tsukamoto for the Union MAX Title. He is willing to put his CCW Canadian Heavyweight Title on the line to make it a double title match at Korakuen Hall on 23rd July. Meanwhile Ryota Nakatsu talked to SAGAT suggesting it is time for Sparky to disband soon. He wants the full unit to get together one more time before it happens though.

After the show Nakatsu told reporters he wants to team up with Ryuichi Sekine at Korakuen. The two used to be part of a BASARA unit called Cavalry. Nakatsu’s request is not to reform the unit though. He is only asking for one time to team with Sekine again.

Masato Kamino appeared after the semi-main event and announced he is ready to come back from his knee injury on 23rd July. He called on Takato Nakano to immediately focus on winning back the IRON FIST Tag Team Titles they never lost. That means Aijin Tag will face the interim champions Sento Minzoku at Korakuen in a title unification match! Minoru Fujita & Daiki Shimomura accepted the challenge to happen straight away because they want to be upgraded from interim champions to undisputed champions.

It was announced during the show that Isami Kodaka Vs SHO will happen on 23rd July. Kodaka wanted to do the match after his interactions with SHO at the “ALL STAR JR FESTIVAL 2023” back in March. Kodaka sent a message to SHO thanking him for accepting the challenge and said he is happy to hold the match under normal rules without the need for any weapons. He also wants to win the match as a independent wrestler taking on New Japan head on.

A singles match three years in the making. Both YuuRI and Misa Kagura had their debut wrestling match in JTO on 11th November, 2020. Less than a year later YuuRI jumped over to GanPro without ever getting to have a singles match against her classmate. This past weekend the tag match they had in Ganbare☆Joshi brought their feelings for each other bubbling to the surface. It pushed YuuRI to finally challenge Kagura one on one. Kagura accepted so she can beat GanPro’s YuuRI while representing the company she stayed loyal to.

Also happening over the weekend was Banny Oikawa’s return to the wrestling scene. The former Ice Ribbon wrestler took a hiatus after leaving the promotion last summer. Her return brought her to GanJo thanks to some advice from Miyako Matsumoto. Oikawa has seen the GanJo wrestlers take part in intergender matches on GanPro shows and that is a big reason why she wants to wrestle again. However GanJo no longer does mixed tag matches on their own shows. An offer was made by Michiyoshi Mishima to have Oikawa’s return match take place in GanJo first while he tries convincing Ken Ohka to start booking her for GanPro afterwards.

New Up Up Girls Show, IP Title No. 1 Contender Match, SILVER QUEEN, Time To Get Assessed

Two wrestlers have stepped forward asking for a shot at the International Princess Title for different reasons. Yuki Aino wants to win the championship after seeing there are women all over the world coming to Tokyo Joshi Pro to fight for it. Arisu Endo was inspired to ask for a shot after standing in her friend Suzume’s corner during last month’s title match. The two will face off in a singles match with the winner getting to challenge Rika Tatsumi somewhere down the road.

A few weeks ago Hyper Misao made Mahiro Kiryu the hero of her own story at the “HYPE!” event. Now they have to be opponents. Misao didn’t see this match coming but understands she will have to beat her friend, even if it ends Kiryu’s momentum coming out of “HYPE!”

Yuki Arai is cleared to return to wrestling on this show. Her return match is also the first time she will be teaming with Raku & Shino Suzuki. That fact is making her look forward to returning even more.

Three of the four remaining wrestlers in the B Block are former Chouten ~Itadaki~ winners. Takumi Tsukamoto has never won the tournament but he is the current Union MAX Champion. Meanwhile Ryota Nakatsu is a two time winner while Minoru Fujita and Fuminori Abe are the two most recent tournament champions.

Isami Kodaka being knocked out of the tournament early frees him up for a first time singles match against MUSASHI from Michinoku Pro.

This past weekend saw Daisuke Sasaki & MJ Paul attack Toy Kojima with chairs before throwing their names in for the vacant KO-D Tag Team Titles match. DAMNATION T.A are entering the match thinking the championship is as good as theirs. Kojima has Yuki Ueno backing him up and will be fighting to bring the belts back to The 37KAMIINA on Shunma Katsumata’s behalf.

MAO has threatened to kick Kazuki Hirata to death in order to win the vacant DDT Extreme Title. However Hirata is always ready and expecting to be kicked to death in his matches so MAO will have to think about doing something else!

Daiki Shimomura joins SAGAT in the semi-finals. Shimomura had to beat Kodaka to get hear while SAGAT had a much more peaceful route thanks to a bye sending him past the previous round without him having to wrestle.

Friends, training partners, wrestling rivals and now a tag team. That describes the relationship between Shuichiro Katsumura & Takuya Wada. They’ve never been able to fight each other in MMA due to being in different weight classes and also different companies. But they are joining forces believing they are the only two fighters who can defeat Hentai Punch Drunkers for the Spirit Of Ganbare Tag Team Titles. Their challenge was accepted by Tyson Maeguchi before Hikaru Sato could give his thoughts on the matter.

It will soon be time for Riara to get assessed by Sayaka Unagi. Apparently that’s a thing a lot of joshi has to go through these days. Unagi offered to wrestle on Ganbare☆Pro’s biggest show of the year again as a favour to her friend Yuna Manase. Since Manase is currently injured, Riara was chosen to be Unagi’s opponent. The two already knew each other while Riara was training to be a pro wrestler. Unagi’s lesson for her is it takes more than just having the “ganbare” spirit to succeed in wrestling.

The 6-Man Tag Match is a reunion on both sides. Akito, Shota & Shinichiro Tominaga represent the Young Communication Generation while Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao are back together as Team Drift.
