7. DDT Extreme Title – Weakness Explosion!! Activation Conditions Are Up To You! Fall & Escape = Ghost & Balloon Explosion Death Match: Kazuki Hirata (c) Vs Yukio Sakaguchi

Yesterday Kazuki Hirata and Yukio Sakaguchi met with Hisaya Imabayashi to sign the contract for their DDT Extreme Title match. Hirata admitted he could not think of a match stipulation in time but promised he would come up with something that Sakaguchi would be pleased with. Sakaguchi signed the contract and Hirata suddenly burst into laughter. He actually did come up with rules and Sakaguchi cannot back out now. The match Hirata wants is a Ghost & Balloon Death Match! The match can be won and lost as normal but whenever there is a kickout or rope break either a “Ghost” or a “Balloon” will enter the ring. It turns out that Sakaguchi does not like either ghosts or balloons so Hirata figured out he can use that information to unsettle his opponent. His point was proven when he took out a pair of rubber gloves, blew them up like balloons and then popped them, causing Sakaguchi to flee the room.

Several matches on the show are being sponsored by different beauty products and salon businesses.

The latest match added to the show has some mystery to it. Yuki Ueno’s unannounced teammate is somebody he believes can become a new rival for Pokotan. Who (or what) could it be? Another mascot?

DDT “MEMORIES OF SUMMER VACATION 2023”, 27/08/2023

Wrestlers close to HARASHIMA are being called together to celebrate his 22nd anniversary in wrestling. Daisuke Sekimoto is the big guest taking part in the match.

DDT wanted to do a match promoting Saki Akai’s new photobook “GRACIA”. Akai is already booked on the show so DDT decided to put together a 3 Way Match between Hirata, Antonio Honda and… the photobook. This is now going to be the second Saki Akai photobook to wrestle in DDT. The first one is a former Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion because of course it would be! It even beat The Young Bucks autobiography to win it.

BASARA “BASARA 227 ~UTAGE~”, 29/08/2023
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Isami Kodaka & Ryuichi Sekine Vs Lil’ Kraken & Leo Isaka
2. IRON FIST Tag Team Titles: Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita (c) Vs Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga
3. Union MAX Title: Takumi Tsukamoto (c) Vs FUMA

Over the weekend FUMA defeated SAGAT to become the new No. 1 Contender for the Union MAX Title. On a roster as small as BASARA it is one of the strongest challengers Takumi Tsukamoto is going to get.

Part-time roster member Ryuichi Sekine returns to team with Isami Kodaka again.

GANBARE☆PRO “KAMIKAZE TAXI 2023”, 02/09/2023
Tokyo Oji BASEMENT MON☆STAR

1. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Isami Kodaka (c) Vs Shinichiro Tominaga

The second challenger for Kodaka quickly made himself known over the weekend. Shinichiro Tominaga had a brief stare down with Kodaka at the Ganbare☆Pro show on Sunday afternoon and then later that evening threw out the challenge after he beat Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi in BASARA. The two wrestlers go way back to the final years of Union Pro. Tominaga came into the promotion at the beginning of 2012 as the hot new rookie with a lot of promise behind him. His run in that promotion only lasted 6 months of ring time when he fractured his forearm. Then when 2012 rolled around he declined to renew his contract and went back to the lower independents. It is a decision that has stayed on his mind ever since. Was he right or wrong to leave back then? He eventually bounced back by finding GanPro and becoming a regular part of their shows. He now thinks he is able to catch up with Kodaka. If he beats him for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title then it will prove he made the right choice all those years ago.

Soma Takao will be on the show.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TJPW CITY CIRCUIT ’23 ~RIKA TATSUMI LOCAL TRIUMPH~”, 16/09/2023
Nagano Kissei Bunka Hall Middle Hall

1. Aja Kong Vs X

Not only is this show a homecoming for Rika Tatsumi but it is also where Maki Itoh will return from her latest overseas tour. Aja Kong is coming back to Tokyo Joshi Pro for another match too.

BASARA “BASARA 230 ~OSAKA SUMMER SIEGE – DAITO~”, 23/09/2023
Osaka Active Square Daito

1. Sparky Final Match ~Final Battle At The Place Of Formation~ Elimination 8-Man Tag Match: Ryota Nakatsu, SAGAT, Naoki Tanizaki & Akiyori Takizawa Vs Isami Kodaka, Ryuichi Sekine, Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita

As was promised by Ryota Nakatsu a few months ago, his unit Sparky is going to split up after the entire group gets together one last time. The full goodbye is happening in September due to Naoki Tanizaki & Akiyori Takizawa having their own schedules that conflict with BASARA’s dates. Sparky’s final match as a group is against the full force of Sento Minzoku in an Elimination Match.

Kohei Kinoshita will also be on the show, going along with Tanizaki as the second Dove Pro representative.

BASARA “BASARA 225 ~SENGUNBANBA~” Results

July 23, 2023

BASARA “BASARA 225 ~SENGUNBANBA~”, 23/07/2023
Tokyo Korakuen Hall
??? Fans – Withheld

1. FUMA & Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi defeated Lil’ Kraken & Akira Jo when FUMA pinned Kraken with the HEAVY METAL ANTHEM (8:48).
2. 3 Way Match: Daichi Kazato defeated Gouma Ryu and Yasu Urano when Kazato pinned Ryu with the Ax Bomber (9:42).
3. IRON FIST Tag Team Titles Next Challengers 3 Way Match: Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga defeated Ryuichi Sekine & Ryota Nakatsu and Fuminori Abe & Takuya Nomura when Oosugi pinned Sekine with a Forward Rotating Cradle (11:56).
4. Acacia Leaf Presents: SHO defeated Isami Kodaka with the Snakebite (11:53).
5. IRON FIST Tag Team Titles Unification Match: Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita (i/c) defeated Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino (c) when Shimomura pinned Nakano with the Swanton Bomb (13:07).
*V1 for Sento Minzoku. Sento Minzoku are now recognized as the 10th IRON FIST Tag Team Champions.
6. Union MAX Title & CCW Canadian Heavyweight Title: Takumi Tsukamoto (M/c) defeated SAGAT (C/c) with the Crooked Headscissors (17:16).
*V1 for Takumi Tsukamoto. SAGAT fails in V1. Takumi Tsukamoto becomes the 15th CCW Canadian Heavyweight Champion!

Takumi Tsukamoto is now a double crown champion after he reclaimed the CCW Canadian Heavyweight Title as well as defending the Union MAX Title in the main event. He was able to counter SAGAT’s Argentine Backbreaker into a Crooked Headscissors to score the win. After the match both Ryota Nakatsu and FUMA entered the ring to challenge Tsukamoto for the MAX Title. Tsukamoto wants his next defence to take place at the 29th August Shin-Kiba 1st RING show because BASARA will be back to serving drinks Beer Garden style on that date. Nakatsu and FUMA agreed to face each other on 6th August to determine who the No. 1 Contender will be.

There is no need to call Sento Minzoku interim champions anymore because they defeated Aijin Tag to unify the IRON FIST Tag Team Titles! The new champions Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita are already set to hold their first defence on 29th August against Speed Of Sounds. The result comes as a blow for Masato Kamino because this was his return match from injury. At least Takato Nakano is happy to have his tag team partner back.

While El Desperado was paying DDT a visit over at Sumo Hall, BASARA welcomed in SHO as their big New Japan guest in Korakuen Hall. SHO didn’t take kindly to Isami Kodaka taking so long with his entrance. He took the match outside and attacked Kodaka with some of the ringside chairs. SHO then made the mistake of arguing with the referee for quickly enforcing the rules, allowing Kodaka to make a comeback. Kodaka almost won with the Diving Double Knee Drop but SHO kicked out, gave him a Low Blow and applied the Snakebite to make him submit. After the match SHO said their battle was settled and Kodaka now has to carry around his luggage like a rookie. The rest of Sento Minzoku complained but Kodaka obliged. Then Kodaka ran off with SHO’s luggage while Sento Minzoku stopped SHO from chasing after him!

6. International Special Single Match: Yuki Ueno Vs Nick Wayne
7. Road To PETER PAN 2023! Special Tag Match: Yuji Hino & Makoto Oishi Vs Chris Brookes & Masahiro Takanashi

The aftermath of the KO-D Tag Team Titles match over the weekend sees Toy Kojima looking for revenge against DAMNATION T.A. He is aiming right for the leader by challenging Daisuke Sasaki to a singles match! Does he have something in store because charging straight towards Sasaki and his gang hasn’t worked out for him much lately. There’s only so many chairshots his body can take.

DDT “ROAD TO PETER PAN 2023 IN AOMORI”, 15/07/2023
Aomori Hamanasu Hall

1. Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata Vs Yusuke Okada & Yuni
2. 3 Way Match: Yuki “Sexy” Iino Vs Akito Vs Antonio Honda

6. Special Tag Match: Yuji Hino & Makoto Oishi Vs Chris Brookes & Kazusada Higuchi

Hideki Okatani has gradually been finding his footing in hardcore matches so he is a suitable replacement for Takagi in the Falls Count Anywhere match.

An upset that saw Yuki Ishida pin Yukio Sakaguchi results in a singles match between the two getting booked. Ishida used his new Dokusoi Hold to score a three count on the veteran. Is Sakaguchi going to be prepared for it the next time?

DDT “60TH BIRTHDAY & 20TH ANNIVERSARY ALL TOGETHER! ~ GORGEOUS NIGHT”, 16/07/2023
Fukushima Toyota Crown Arena Sub Arena

1. Daisuke Sasaki, MJ Paul & KANON Vs Yusuke Okada, Toy Kojima & Yuya Koroku
2. 3 Way Match: Yuki “Sexy” Iino Vs Akito Vs Kazuma Sumi
3. Kazuki Hirata & Yuni Vs Saki Akai & Hideki Okatani
4. BURNING Vs Harimao!: Tetsuya Endo & Jun Akiyama Vs Kazusada Higuchi & Yuki Ishida

6. Fukushima Specialty Special 6-Man Tag Match: Gorgeous Matsuno, HARASHIMA & Yukio Sakaguchi Vs Toru Owashi, Danshoku Dieno & Antonio Honda

This is unexpected. Takagi’s replacement in the Fukushima main event is Danshoku Dieno! Since it is an important match for Gorgeous Matsuno, Dieno is not going to be “Dandy” on the day. Granted there’s not much difference between regular Dieno and Pheromones Dieno but it’s still a nice gesture from the guy.

BASARA “BASARA 225 ~SENGUNBANBA~”, 23/07/2023
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Isami Kodaka Vs SHO
2. IRON FIST Tag Team Titles Unification Match: Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino (c) Vs Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita (i/c)
3. Union MAX Title & CCW Canadian Heavyweight Title: Takumi Tsukamoto (M/c) Vs SAGAT (C/c)

A double championship match headlines BASARA’s return to Korakuen Hall next month. SAGAT won the Chouten ~Itadaki~ and challenged Takumi Tsukamoto for the Union MAX Title afterwards. That’s not all because SAGAT also offered to defend the CCW Canadian Heavyweight Title he won from Tsukamoto back in March.

Masato Kamino is fit for return from his knee injury so he & Takato Nakano can go reclaim the IRON FIST Tag Team Titles. They are still technically the champions but Kamino’s injury caused an interim title to be created in his absence. Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita from Sento Minzoku won that prize but would prefer to be acknowledged as the actual champions. That all leads to the unification match happening at Korakuen.

BASARA takes on New Japan when Isami Kodaka faces SHO! Interactions between the two at “ALL STAR JR FESTIVAL 2023” earlier this year weren’t forgotten by either wrestler so the challenge was thrown out for a singles match. Kodaka even told SHO he would be happy to fight under normal rules instead of Hardcore or a death match. His reason for that decision is to prove he does not need to use weapons to beat SHO. Can SHO truthfully say the same given his reputation as a House Of Torture member? A lot of pride is on the line because Kodaka sees himself as a big figure on the independent scene facing the challenge of New Japan head on.

Nothing has been decided on this yet but Ryota Nakatsu said he wants to team with Ryuichi Sekine again on the show. They used to be together in BASARA as Cavalry. However Nakatsu just wants this to be a one time reunion. He is still a member of Sparky, although that unit is about to begin winding down. Nakatsu eventually wants all four members of Sparky to get together again so they can send it off and go their seperate ways. That won’t be happening anytime soon because of Naoki Tanizaki and Akiyori Takizawa’s schedules so that gives Nakatsu the chance to reunite with Sekine in the meantime.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TJPW INSPIRATION”, 17/08/2023
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Pom Harajuku Vs Mahiro Kiryu
2. Saki Akai, Haru Kazashiro & Runa Okubo Vs HIMAWARI, Toga & Shino Suzuki
3. Mizuki Vs Aiger
4. Debut 10th Anniversary Memorial Match: Miyu Yamashita Vs Shoko Nakajima

17th August, 2013 was the date when Miyu Yamashita and Shoko Nakajima had their professional debut match on the pre-show of a DDT Sumo Hall show. They teamed together in a losing effort against the two other first generation TJPW wrestlers Chikage Kiba & KANNA. It’s perfect timing that the next “TJPW INSPIRATION” show is booked on the 10 year anniversary of that match. The main event will be Yamashita against Nakajima one on one for the first time since “GRAND PRINCESS ’22”.

Saki Akai will also be on the show because the 10th anniversary of her own debut pro wrestling match is one day off. Her first DDT bout happened the next day. Now there’s a bit of trivia that will catch people off guard. Miyu Yamashita, Shoko Nakajima and Saki Akai all debuted on the same weekend. And Akai debuted AFTER the other two.

1. Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023 – A Block Final: SAGAT defeated Daiki Shimomura with the Argentine Backbreaker (11:11).
2. Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023 – B Block Final: Ryota Nakatsu defeated Fuminori Abe with the V Slider (9:10).
3. Roundabout Pro Wrestling Trial: Shiori Asahi defeated Banana Senga and Gouma Ryu when Asahi pinned Senga and Ryu with a Flying Kendo Press (6:41).

6. Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023 – Final: SAGAT defeated Ryota Nakatsu with the Goregrind (17:57).

As a result of winning the Chouten ~Itadaki~ tournament this year SAGAT gets to challenge Takumi Tsukamoto for the Union MAX Title. He is willing to put his CCW Canadian Heavyweight Title on the line to make it a double title match at Korakuen Hall on 23rd July. Meanwhile Ryota Nakatsu talked to SAGAT suggesting it is time for Sparky to disband soon. He wants the full unit to get together one more time before it happens though.

After the show Nakatsu told reporters he wants to team up with Ryuichi Sekine at Korakuen. The two used to be part of a BASARA unit called Cavalry. Nakatsu’s request is not to reform the unit though. He is only asking for one time to team with Sekine again.

Masato Kamino appeared after the semi-main event and announced he is ready to come back from his knee injury on 23rd July. He called on Takato Nakano to immediately focus on winning back the IRON FIST Tag Team Titles they never lost. That means Aijin Tag will face the interim champions Sento Minzoku at Korakuen in a title unification match! Minoru Fujita & Daiki Shimomura accepted the challenge to happen straight away because they want to be upgraded from interim champions to undisputed champions.

It was announced during the show that Isami Kodaka Vs SHO will happen on 23rd July. Kodaka wanted to do the match after his interactions with SHO at the “ALL STAR JR FESTIVAL 2023” back in March. Kodaka sent a message to SHO thanking him for accepting the challenge and said he is happy to hold the match under normal rules without the need for any weapons. He also wants to win the match as a independent wrestler taking on New Japan head on.

GANBARE☆JOSHI “GANJO FIGHTING SPIRITS ’23”, 16/07/2023
Tokyo Ryogoku KFC Hall

1. Banny Oikawa Comeback Match: Banny Oikawa Vs X
2. Special Single Match: YuuRI Vs Misa Kagura

A singles match three years in the making. Both YuuRI and Misa Kagura had their debut wrestling match in JTO on 11th November, 2020. Less than a year later YuuRI jumped over to GanPro without ever getting to have a singles match against her classmate. This past weekend the tag match they had in Ganbare☆Joshi brought their feelings for each other bubbling to the surface. It pushed YuuRI to finally challenge Kagura one on one. Kagura accepted so she can beat GanPro’s YuuRI while representing the company she stayed loyal to.

Also happening over the weekend was Banny Oikawa’s return to the wrestling scene. The former Ice Ribbon wrestler took a hiatus after leaving the promotion last summer. Her return brought her to GanJo thanks to some advice from Miyako Matsumoto. Oikawa has seen the GanJo wrestlers take part in intergender matches on GanPro shows and that is a big reason why she wants to wrestle again. However GanJo no longer does mixed tag matches on their own shows. An offer was made by Michiyoshi Mishima to have Oikawa’s return match take place in GanJo first while he tries convincing Ken Ohka to start booking her for GanPro afterwards.

New Up Up Girls Show, IP Title No. 1 Contender Match, SILVER QUEEN, Time To Get Assessed

June 5, 2023

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “UP UP GIRLS (PRO WRESTLING) 2ND SHOW GRAB IT! THE HIGHEST STAGE!”, 10/06/2023
Shinjuku FACE

1. Moka Miyamoto & Toga Vs Arisu Endo & Shino Suzuki
2. Hikari Noa & Nao Kakuta Vs Wakana Uehara & Haru Kazashiro
3. Miu Watanabe & Suzume Vs Raku & HIMAWARI

For the first time in four and a half years The Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) are holding their own show featuring music performances as well as wrestling matches. The first show was a milestone for the unit because it was where each member revealed their pro wrestling names as well debuting their song “Upper Chop!” Shino Suzuki already has her ring name. Unless at the show she decides to change it to Susususu Suzuki?

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “STICK OUT ’23”, 11/06/2023
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Pom Harajuku Vs HIMAWARI
2. Hikari Noa & Nao Kakuta Vs Toga & Runa Okubo
3. Shoko Nakajima & Moka Miyamoto Vs Suzume & Haru Kazashiro
4. Yuki Kamifuku, Kaya Toribami & Wakane Uehara Vs Yuki Arai, Raku & Shino Suzuki
5. Hyper Misao Vs Mahiro Kiryu
6. International Princess Title Next Challenger Match: Yuki Aino Vs Arisu Endo
7. Princess Tag Team Titles: Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki (c) Vs Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe

Two wrestlers have stepped forward asking for a shot at the International Princess Title for different reasons. Yuki Aino wants to win the championship after seeing there are women all over the world coming to Tokyo Joshi Pro to fight for it. Arisu Endo was inspired to ask for a shot after standing in her friend Suzume’s corner during last month’s title match. The two will face off in a singles match with the winner getting to challenge Rika Tatsumi somewhere down the road.

A few weeks ago Hyper Misao made Mahiro Kiryu the hero of her own story at the “HYPE!” event. Now they have to be opponents. Misao didn’t see this match coming but understands she will have to beat her friend, even if it ends Kiryu’s momentum coming out of “HYPE!”

Yuki Arai is cleared to return to wrestling on this show. Her return match is also the first time she will be teaming with Raku & Shino Suzuki. That fact is making her look forward to returning even more.

English commentary for the show will be provided by Chris Brookes, Drew Parker and Baliyan Akki.

1. SILVER QUEEN Infomercial Match: Sanshiro Takagi & Kazuki Hirata Vs MAO & Yoshihiko

DDT is bringing back the Infomercial Match. It is a wrestling match purposefully put together to promote a local sponsor. For example the sponsor for this show is SILVER QUEEN, a restaurant marketed towards fans of the singer Eikichi Yazawa (the inspiration for Antonio Honda’s alter ego A.YAZAWA).

BASARA “BASARA 222 ~OENSOGURA~”, 17/06/2023
Miyagi-no Cultural Center

1. Lil’ Kraken Vs Yasu Urano

Meanwhile Ryota Nakatsu is a two time winner while Minoru Fujita and Fuminori Abe are the two most recent tournament champions.

Isami Kodaka being knocked out of the tournament early frees him up for a first time singles match against MUSASHI from Michinoku Pro.

1. Yukio Sakaguchi, Saki Akai, Hideki Okatani & Sanshiro Takagi Vs Ryota Nakatsu, Yuki Ishida, Yusuke Okada & Yuya Koroku

4. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Daisuke Sasaki & MJ Paul Vs Yuki Ueno & Toy Kojima

This past weekend saw Daisuke Sasaki & MJ Paul attack Toy Kojima with chairs before throwing their names in for the vacant KO-D Tag Team Titles match. DAMNATION T.A are entering the match thinking the championship is as good as theirs. Kojima has Yuki Ueno backing him up and will be fighting to bring the belts back to The 37KAMIINA on Shunma Katsumata’s behalf.

MAO has threatened to kick Kazuki Hirata to death in order to win the vacant DDT Extreme Title. However Hirata is always ready and expecting to be kicked to death in his matches so MAO will have to think about doing something else!

BASARA “BASARA 223 ~KOO~”, 27/06/2023
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023 – A Block Final: Daiki Shimomura Vs SAGAT
2. Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023 – B Block Final: X Vs X
3. Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023 – Final: X Vs X

Daiki Shimomura joins SAGAT in the semi-finals. Shimomura had to beat Kodaka to get hear while SAGAT had a much more peaceful route thanks to a bye sending him past the previous round without him having to wrestle.

GANBARE☆PRO “WRESTLE SEKIGAHARA II”, 09/07/2023
Tokyo Ota Ward Gymnasium

1. Riara Vs Sayaka Unagi
2. Yoshiko Hasegawa Vs Miyuki Takase
3. YuuRI & Tomoka Inaba Vs Takumi Iroha & Mio Momono
4. Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao Vs Akito, Shota & Shinichiro Tominaga
5. Spirit Of Ganbare World Tag Team Titles: Hikaru Sato & Tyson Maeguchi (c) Vs Shuichiro Katsumura & Takuya Wada
6. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Mizuki Watase (c) Vs Isami Kodaka

Friends, training partners, wrestling rivals and now a tag team. That describes the relationship between Shuichiro Katsumura & Takuya Wada. They’ve never been able to fight each other in MMA due to being in different weight classes and also different companies. But they are joining forces believing they are the only two fighters who can defeat Hentai Punch Drunkers for the Spirit Of Ganbare Tag Team Titles. Their challenge was accepted by Tyson Maeguchi before Hikaru Sato could give his thoughts on the matter.

It will soon be time for Riara to get assessed by Sayaka Unagi. Apparently that’s a thing a lot of joshi has to go through these days. Unagi offered to wrestle on Ganbare☆Pro’s biggest show of the year again as a favour to her friend Yuna Manase. Since Manase is currently injured, Riara was chosen to be Unagi’s opponent. The two already knew each other while Riara was training to be a pro wrestler. Unagi’s lesson for her is it takes more than just having the “ganbare” spirit to succeed in wrestling.

The 6-Man Tag Match is a reunion on both sides. Akito, Shota & Shinichiro Tominaga represent the Young Communication Generation while Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao are back together as Team Drift.

BASARA “BASARA 219 ~KOO~” Results

May 23, 2023

BASARA “BASARA 219 ~KOO~”, 23/05/2023
Shin-Kiba 1st RING
??? Fans – Withheld

1. FUMA, Takumi Tsukamoto & Ryota Nakatsu defeated Ryuichi Sekine, Minoru Fujita & Yasu Urano when Tsukamoto pinned Sekine with the Schmidt-Style Backbreaker (12:07).
2. 3 Way Match: Tatsuhiko Yoshino defeated Gouma Ryu and Takato Nakano when Yoshino pinned Ryu with a Cradle (6:31).
3. Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023 – Round 1 A Block: SAGAT defeated Lil’ Kraken with the Goregrind (11:08).
4. Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023 – Round 1 A Block: Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi Vs Leo Isaka ended in a Double Countout (9:00).
5. Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023 – Round 1 A Block: Daiki Shimomura defeated Daichi Kazato with a Hurricanrana (13:37).
6. Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023 – Round 1 A Block: Isami Kodaka defeated Shiori Asahi with a Cross Armbar (16:14).

Three wrestlers have advanced past the opening round so far in this year’s Chouten ~Itadaki~. The main event saw Isami Kodaka submit Shiori Asahi in their first singles match against each other in 8 years. Kodaka said he has three more rounds to get past and he’s sure the Union MAX Title will be waiting for him at the finish line. He meets Daiki Shimomura in Round 2 after Shimomura beat Daichi Kazato. Kodaka and Shimomura fought each other for the MAX Title last September.

The other half of the A Block has turned into an easy path for SAGAT. He advanced to the 2nd Round by beating Lil’ Kraken and then discovered at the end of the show he was getting a bye into the semi-final because Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi Vs Leo Isaka ended in a Double Countout! Both Hiroshi and Isaka were determined to keep each other outside the ring and it blew up in both of their faces because the Double Countout eliminates both of them. So now SAGAT only has to beat the winner of Kodaka versus Shimomura to reach the grand final.

Chouten ~Itadaki~ 2023

May 15, 2023

The 8th annual Chouten ~Itadaki~ tournament is going to be the main focus for BASARA during the summer. This year uses the familiar format of a 16-man single eliminaion bracket. Every match will have a 30 minute time limit except for the final, which has no time limit. A draw of any kind will eliminate both wrestlers from the tournament. An odd bit of scheduling this year is half of the 2nd Round will take place on the same day the 2nd Half of Round 1 is completed. The complete 2nd Round schedule has not been finalized yet for this reason. It will have to be sorted out depending on which wrestlers are available to wrestle on 3rd June and which are available for 17th June. This year’s contestants are:

BASARA “BASARA 216 ~KOO~” Results

April 19, 2023

BASARA “BASARA 216 ~KOO~”, 18/04/2023
Shin-Kiba 1st RING
??? Fans – Withheld

1. Takumi Tsukamoto, Ryota Nakatsu & Yasu Urano defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi, Daichi Kazato & Tsutomu Oosugi when Nakatsu pinned Kazato with the V Slider (10:21).
2. FUMA & KUBITO defeated Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita when FUMA pinned Shimomura with the Heavy Metal Anthem (13:13).
3. Special Rule “I’m Sorry” Match: Isami Kodaka defeated Gouma Ryu when Ryu said “I’m Sorry” (13:55).
4. IRON FIST Tag Titles: Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino (c) defeated Lil’ Kraken & Leo Isaka when Kamino pinned Kraken with the Lariat (16:40).
*V2 for Aijin Tag.
5. Union MAX Title: Banana Senga (c) defeated SAGAT with the Koryu (18:23)
*V1 for Banana Senga.

Things are getting serious for Banana Senga. After defending the Union MAX Title against SAGAT he told the fans he has a big responsibility as a Double Crown champion (he is also one of the TTT Indie Unified 6-Man Tag Team Champions). He thinks the MAX Title is a heavyweight championship so he is trying to gain weight and be over 100kg. Takumi Tsukamoto entered the ring and said he was so excited watching the main event he wants to use his MAX Title shot right now. Instead the two agreed to have their title match on 13th May because that is when both men are available for the same BASARA show. Backstage Senga also admitted by being champion he makes more money so he wants to save up for a hair transplant! He mentioned he can get it done in Turkey where it is one third of the price as in Japan.

The first time Aijin Tag were IRON FIST Tag Champions their reign only lasted for one defence. They can rest a little easy now that their second reign has already surpassed that. Takato Nakano feels motivated he & Masato Kamino can reach 10 title defences when all is said and done. They beat the Tochigi team of Lil’ Kraken & Leo Isaka. The challengers expected the result but they still think they did a good job teaming together for the first time. Isaka would like to stick around in BASARA and team with Kraken more.

The match between Isami Kodaka and Gouma Ryu had a special rule attached. Whoever would say “I’m sorry” first would lose. It led to Kodaka and Ryu demanding each other wrestler to apologize while they were putting each other in different holds. Ryu ended up getting tired and tried to make Kodaka apologize for putting him in this situation. Kodaka instead said it was ok and asked him to continue wrestling. Ryu understood and apologized, losing the match in the process.

After the opening match, Gouma Ryu approached Ryota Nakatsu and handed him money to be in his corner for his match against Kodaka. Nakatsu accepted and briefly interfered in the later match.

2. Union MAX Title Next Challenger Match: Isami Kodaka Vs Takumi Tsukamoto

A surprise Union MAX Title change last week has thrown BASARA for a loop. Isami Kodaka wants to get his title back as soon as possible but he isn’t getting an automatic rematch. Takumi Tsukamoto also lost his CCW Canadian Heavyweight Title on the same show so he doesn’t have a claim for the No. 1 Contendership. The two agreed to fight each other and the winner will get a future title shot.

Both FUMA and Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi are claiming to be the No. 1 ranked fighter in the Basara Strange Style Jacket matches. They will face each other to decide who really is No. 1.

Minoru Fujita will be on the show having his first match in BASARA since December.
