8. DDT LIVE!! Maji Manji Broadcast Commemoration Special Single Match: Konosuke Takeshita Vs Kazusada Higuchi ended in a Time Limit Draw (20:00).

A new project for DDT had its debut today. “DDT LIVE! MAJI MANJI” is a live weekly show airing on the AbemaTV streaming service during the “golden hours” of the primetime TV schedule. To mark the occasion, DDT headlined the episode with a match between Konosuke Takeshita and Kazusada Higuchi. The match ended in a 20 minute draw with both guys spent. Takeshita said he didn’t want to treat the match like an exhibition. He will always be ready to defend the KO-D Openweight Title. However, he would also like to challenge for the KO-D Tag Team Titles. Higuchi shares the same idea in regards to defending his own title and challenging for the other. They both shook hands. When Higuchi left, Takeshita closed out the show with a speech until Shigehiro Irie interrupted him. He called Takeshita a wonderful champion and it would please Irie greatly to win the title from him on 29th April in Korakuen Hall. Takeshita doesn’t like the disrespect Irie showed by coming out after he and Higuchi just wrestled. He hesitated to shake Irie’s hand but when he did, Irie gave him the thumbs down instead and left.

The first round of the Maji Manji tournament filled up the second half of the show. The matches only had a five minute time limit and tiebreakers were determined by a viewer poll. Yuki Ueno and Kota Umeda were able to win their matches but MAO and Maki Itoh needed the audience to get them through to the next round. The semi-finals on 17th April will be Ueno Vs MAO and Itoh Vs Umeda.

This time Saki Akai was able to avoid getting her face licked by Priscilla Kelly.

Mad Paulie is still in his red rage state due to the springtime. However Yuko Miyamoto escaped from the Paulie Buster and escaped with the win by pinning Paulie with the Gannosuke Clutch. Miyamoto told HARASHIMA after the match that he promises not to go extreme for their DDT Extreme Title match. But when they shook hands, Miyamoto gave HARASHIMA a cheap shot then struck him over the back with a chair! Miyamoto said he will no longer be associated with Smile Squash until after their match ends. They cannot team together when they are meant to be opponents. HARASHIMA understands and there are no hard feelings over the situation. He can only promise to do his best.

Idol Moga Mogami was the special guest commentator for the episode. She had never watched pro wrestling before this show and did not even know the existence of DDT. Naomi Yoshimura and Akira Jo were placed nearby as her bodyguards for the evening. After the first match of the broadcast, Danshoku Dino chased Nobuhiro Shimatani with a baseball bat. When Shimatani escaped, Dino grabbed Mogami and pulled her into the ring. Yoshimura & Jo rescued Mogami and beat up Dino for touching her. They allowed Mogami to strike Dino in the ass with the baseball bat as punishment for his actions.

6. DDT Extreme Title – Ladder Match: Yuko Miyamoto (c) defeated Mike Bailey when Miyamoto grabbed the title belt (15:11).
*V3 for Yuko Miyamoto.
7. Special Single Match: Shigehiro Irie defeated Akito with the Beast Bomber (14:20).

After disappearing off the face of the earth for a few months, Shigehiro Irie is back in DDT to win the KO-D Openweight Title. Standing in his way was Akito who was determined not to let Irie get what he wants after he abandoned the company. Irie overpowered Akito’s submissions and crushed him with a Diving Cannonball before getting the win with the Beast Bomber.

After the match Irie spotted Konosuke Takeshita sitting at the commentary table and demanded he get in the ring. Irie then challenged Takeshita to a KO-D Title match. Takeshita reminded Irie about the dark match they had in Korakuen Hall together in 2015. Takeshita has never forgotten about it and he will continue to be the champion. Producer Danshoku Dino showed up and gave his opinion about Irie. He does not care if Irie wants to break up DDT. All that matters is if Irie creates something new to take its place if he becomes the champion. Whether it is Takeshita or Irie on top, either future is something that Dino wants to see. The title match will take place on 29th April.

The DDT Extreme Title was hung above the ring for a Ladder match between Yuko Miyamoto and Mike Bailey. The ladder wasn’t the only dangerous object used in the match. A pile of chairs were stacked up as a creative substitute when a ladder wasn’t available but it just collapsed beneath them. When the ladder was brought in Miyamoto and Bailey went to town with crazy bumps. Miyamoto knocked Bailey off the ladder onto another one suspended against the ropes and was free to pull down the title belt. Miyamoto called Bailey a crazy wrestler then nominated his buddy HARASHIMA as the next challenger on 29th April. Their last singles match against each other happened 13 years ago in Triple Six.

Shuten-dōji bounced back from their Sumo Hall defeat by winning the 4 Way Tag Match. It got a bit crazy in the finishing stretch. Takeshita gave KUDO the German Suplex, Daisuke Sasaki gave Takeshita the Hurricanrana, Soma Takao hit Sasaki with a Thrust Kick, Shuji Ishikawa gave Takao the Fire Thunder, Yukio Sakaguchi hit Ishikawa with the Right Knee Of God then Shunma Katsumata caught a High Kick and gave Sakaguchi a Sit Down Power Bomb. Sakaguchi moved out of the way from Katsumata’s Moonsault and locked him into a Triangle Choke with a Kimura also applied to win. Masahiro Takanashi said that everyone in Shuten-dōji are starving for a drink and KUDO called today an exciting start for their next story.

Not sure how much I can write about the North America Vs Japan 6-Man Tag without getting this site blocked by web filters. Colt Cabana & Joey Ryan tricked Ethan Page into starting the match with Dino. Cabana got the crowd to chant “Okama Ichiban!” after they won.

Sanshiro Takagi & Toru Owashi were given the task of banishing a wrestler from DDT to keep the roster from overflowing. For weeks DDT wrestlers were selected based on negative and questionable qualities and today it was up to them to fight for their survival. Takagi & Owashi sat by a desk in the ring while everyone wrestled around them. Anyone who could pin an opponent or impress the judges would be spared and could leave the match. One by one the ring whittled down until Kazuki Hirata was the last wrestler left. The match turned into a 2 Vs 1 Handicap Match between Takagi & Owashi against Hirata. Takagi gave Hirata the Sit Down Himawari Bomb but from out of nowhere all of the other wrestlers rolled Hirata onto him and all piled up on top for the pin! Per the rules of the match, Takagi is now banished from DDT!

Takagi protested and tried to convince everyone it was only an April Fool’s joke. Owashi wouldn’t have any of it. He told Takagi he had to accept the stipulation. Takagi refused to leave and clung on to the bottom turnbuckle. Yuki Iino came out dressed as a sexy policeman and he lifted Takagi over to other wrestlers so they could carry him towards his banishment. DDT then announced that Francoise☆Takagi from T2HiJoshi will return on 29th April.

In the first match of his five match series, Gota Ihashi lost to Koji Kanemoto. Ihashi had the chance to win with the Moonsault but he missed and Kanemoto tapped him out with the Anklelock. Kanemoto motivated Ihashi to stand back up and cheered him up. It turns out Kanemoto also hates Riki Choshu! He encouraged Ihashi to continue the trial and if he needs to get stronger, Kanemoto will be there for him.

The new KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions went up against former champions and all of them came from DNA. The finish to that match came with Yuki Ueno hitting Mizuki Watase with a Missile Dropkick, Koju Takeda did the Hurricane Driver and Kota Umeda got the pin with the Umeda Driver. The champions haven’t decided when to hold their first defence yet.

Rekka focused his gameplan around an Elbow Stike move called the Taiwan Elbow. However it wasn’t enough to beat Tomomitsu Matsunaga.

DDT provided a few April Fool announcements at the start of the show. Their new logo is the inspiration for a brand new mascot, a wrestler who wears the logo as a mask. The second joke is DDT’s video team is busy doing nothing in regards to their “BETAMANIA” show on 23rd April. The final joke was a special Gota Ihashi brochure going on sale that costs 150,000 yen.

DDT is working with C.A.MOBILE to redesign DDT’s official websites and services. The plan is to merge the website, the fan club and DDT UNIVERSE into one service with different pricing tiers.

6. DDT Extreme Title: Yuko Miyamoto (c) Vs Mike Bailey
7. Special Single Match: Shigehiro Irie Vs Akito

The aftermath of “JUDGEMENT 2018” is all about the controversial return of Shigehiro Irie. He vanished from DDT at the end of 2017 and I assumed at the time he was going on another one of his wrestling trips to America. However there was no sign he was ever in the country during that time and he kept himself mostly quiet on social media save for a “Like” notification here and there. He reappeared at the end of “JUDGEMENT 2018” to challenge Konosuke Takeshita for the KO-D Openweight Title.

Irie has since spoken about his actions. During his time away he considered quitting DDT because it was no longer the same DDT he loved. But he doesn’t want to throw away everything he has worked so hard for. The most important thing in his life is the KO-D Title and he wants to win it again.

The one person who was vocal about Irie’s behaviour when he disappeared is Akito. He lost all respect for Irie when he again ran away from his problems. He hates the idea of Irie getting the shot as if nothing ever happened. Takeshita said he would like to see both of them wrestle each other so Irie Vs Akito will take place at this Sunday’s return to Korakuen Hall. Of course Akito would like to get the title shot but this match isn’t about that. It’s about him dealing with Irie’s childish behaviour.

DDT “MAX BUMP 2018”, 29/04/2018
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) Vs X

DDT is getting back to regular KO-D Title defences after it was put aside in the first quarter of the year for the D-Ou Grand Prix as well as the “JUDGEMENT 2018” build up. Takeshita is confident he can continue his strong title reign. He has held the title for 371 days and recorded 11 successful defences in that time. He wants to rewrite all of the championship’s records so he is happy to be the youngest champion ever, have the most defences ever and the longest reign ever. All that’s left for him is to be the oldest champion ever but Takeshita has to wait at least 20 years to achieve that. He’ll leave it up to the fans to decide if he is the ace but he intends to stay in the main event forever.

Takeshita would like his next challenger to be the winner of the Irie Vs Akito match. That is not the official stipulation of the 1st April bout but it is most likely going to happen. Jiro Kuroshio has also spoke of his desire to face Takeshita again in a rematch of their Grand Prix meeting. However it is currently unknown if DDT is much of a priority for Kuroshio right now.

*HarashiMarufuji fails in V6. Sekiguchi becomes the 63rd KO-D Tag Team Champions!
9. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) defeated Shuji Ishikawa with the German Suplex (23:31).
*V11 for Konosuke Takeshita.

In the main event Konosuke Takeshita defeated Shuji Ishikawa once and for all to continue his dominant KO-D Openweight Title reign. Takeshita took everything that Ishikawa threw at him from the Knee Lifts to the Fire Thunders to the Splash Mountain and survived. He was even put through a table outside the ring with the Fire Thunder from the apron. In return Takeshita fired back with Lariats and German Suplexes until his big rival couldn’t take any more. Takeshita gave him the Cross Arm German Suplex but couldn’t keep his grip for the pin. He was able to reposition himself to give Ishikawa another German Suplex and this time pin him to win.

Takeshita thanked the fans for coming to Sumo Hall. A year and a half ago he defended his title against Ishikawa in this building and lost. Since then the support from the fans kept him going while he grew as a wrestler and a person. Time passes by so quickly but day after day he is still the champion. He loves that DDT is growing while he is becoming stronger. Takeshita then went to climb the turnbuckle and celebrate but he slipped and fell. Everyone laughed including him and the show was over…

…except that wasn’t the ending. When the ring was emptied and the ending music was playing, Shigehiro Irie appeared and climbed into the ring! Irie had disappeared from DDT right at the end of 2017 and was allegedly on another one of his overseas expeditions. This was his first appearance in a DDT ring for 2018. He called for Takeshita to come back out and face him. He congratulated him for the victory then challenged him to a title match. Takeshita said he always knew Irie would come back but is he ready for such a match? Takeshita carried DDT while Irie was gone. Akito entered the stand off and was full of criticism towards Irie. Everyone in DDT has responsibilities and Irie runs away whenever he doesn’t get what he wants. Akito does not accept Irie just coming back and demanding a title match. Irie threatened to shut up Akito and left the ring. Takeshita apologised for letting the argument happen. However his final words were about how he would like to see Akito and Irie settle their differences in the ring.

At last Kazusada Higuchi has taken down HARASHIMA! The KO-D Tag Team Titles changed hands after a back and forth match. Naomichi Marufuji used his strike combos to cut down the opposition as much as he could. HARASHIMA kept Higuchi & Daisuke Sekimoto on edge with the Somato. The final moments of the match were down to HARASHIMA and Higuchi. HARASHIMA hit a Buzzsaw Kick but Higuchi woke up out of it and Headbutted his rival. Higuchi had the win in his sights when he hit the Doctor Bomb but Marufuji broke the pin. Sekimoto German Suplexed Marufuji away and Higuchi finished off HARASHIMA with the Goten to win the titles. Higuchi thanked Sekimoto backstage and said he felt amazing after he finally defeated HARASHIMA. On the other side, Marufuji took the blame for his team’s loss. HARASHIMA said he enjoyed teaming with Marufuji for the last several months. They don’t need the titles to team again but they will stick to messaging each other on LINE for the time being.

The Great Muta entered DDT in an alien looking form to take part in his most bizarre wrestling match since the first time he was in HUSTLE. You know the one I’m talking about. Daisuke Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo, Ken Ohka and Keisuke Ishii were all there to play second fiddle to Muta and Danshoku Dino locking horns. Dino’s typical moves didn’t work on Muta at first. It wasn’t until Muta accidentally struck his partners with a chair when Dino grabbed him by the crotch again and the action slowly took its effect on the demon. Seeing his chance, Dino set himself up for the Hell Gate on the turnbuckle. Muta was thrown into Dino’s ass but Muta stopped himself and sprayed the Poison Mist into Dino’s ass! However much to everyone’s shock, Dino’s ass sprayed the Mist back into Muta’s face! Ohka hit the Fire Spear on Muta but it wasn’t enough to win. Ohka hit Sasaki & Endo with the Double Fire Spear but Muta was back up giving everyone Dragon Screws. Dino gave Muta and DAMNATION the Lip Lock but Muta stopped him and gave him the Lip Lock right back. Then all three of them spat red Poison Mist at Dino. Endo hit Dino with the Handspring Leg Lariat, Sasaki followed up with a Pedigree and Muta ended the match with the Moonsault. Quite possibly the final Moonsault Muta will ever do. The match was over but Dino had the last word. Dino wants Muta to tell Keiji Muto that this isn’t the end. Dino wants a singles match against either The Great Muta or Keiji Muto!

After intermission Sanshiro Takagi and Hisaya Imabayashi came out for a few big announcements. First, DDT will return to Sumo Hall later this year on 21st October for “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2018”. Second, there will be two Sumo Hall shows during the same weekend next February. The shows, nicknamed “2 DAYS Of Hell”, will be held on the 16th and 17th February, 2019. However, only the second show is a DDT show. The first show will be a MUSCLE show hosted by Super Sasadango Machine! The show is called “MUSCLE MANIA 2018 ~I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL 2030 SP~” referencing the humorous return date in the year 2030 for the MUSCLE spin off brand. Sasadango wants the official return show in 2030 to be held in the Tokyo Dome.

The Weapons Rumble was the crazy spectacle it promised to be. Chinsuke Nakamura was accompanied by a violin player for his entrance. He and Michael Nakazawa were attacked while they finished their ring entrance. The first weapon to enter was Soma Takao’s steel basin. He whacked Takagi over the head with it. Next was Nakamura’s surfboard. He swung it down at Takao. Takao tried to block it with his basin but it only made the impact worse. Takagi & Munenori Sawa wanted to do the Golden Shower but they were cut off. The dreaded locker was brought into the match by MAO & Mike Bailey. They trapped Takagi inside and kicked the sides of the locker. The next weapon were the T2HiJoshi girls: Margaret★Owashi, Kazuko Hirata & Gorgeous Matsuko. MAO got rid of them by snapping the back of Matsuko’s bra, knocking her out of the ring. Fuminori Abe knocked out Sawa with a Rabbit Punch which brought out the next weapon, three monks. Abe and the monks prayed for Sawa to wake up and it worked. The next weapon was a special rule. No laughing allowed. Takagi then came out with his Combat Bicycle and cycled over to his opponents to Lariat them. MAO & Bailey countered the bicycle by bringing in a Dramatic Road Roller. MAO and Takagi crashed into each other, wrecking the Roller. A massive barbed wire board was thrown into the ring by Takao & Yuko Miyamoto, taking out everyone else. Isami Kodaka’s weapon was next, the Giga Ladder. Isami struck Miyamoto with the ladder and sent him crashing through the barbed wire board outside the ring. The final weapon was Shinjiro Otani dressed in a black bodysuit! Every laughed, breaking the No Laughing rule from earlier. The punishment was Otani hitting everyone in the ass with a baseball bat. When Otani was finished, he did the Fire Festival Sword pose with the bat. The match reached its end when Bailey gave Nakazawa the Ultima Weapon and MAO got the pin with the Cannonball 450.

As part of the match stipulation, Nakazawa must now take an Anal Explosion. However Nakazawa couldn’t take another explosion after taking so many over the years. He shouted about going back to Thailand and ran away from ringside. This left the others with a problem. An explosion was promised and DDT cannot continue the show without doing it. One by one, different wrestlers volunteered to sacrifice themselves until Takagi offered to do it. Everyone else immediately accepted his request. “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” by Aerosmith played over the speakers as Takagi walked up to the stage, stripped down to his underwear and prepared to take the explosion which was 100 times more powerful than he thought when it was prepared. Takagi hesitated to push the button next to him. The tension was so unbearable that Sawa couldn’t take it any more. He approached Takagi and told him that they will take the explosion together. Sawa leapt on top of Takagi, they joined hands and they both pressed the button, causing a tremendous explosion inside Sumo Hall and also their backsides.

Youth beat liquor in the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match. But it almost didn’t end that way. Yukio Sakaguchi hit Kota Umeda with the Right Knee Of God and tried to choke him out with a Sleeper Hold. Umeda was only saved by Yuki Ueno & Koji Takeda hitting double Missile Dropkicks to Sakaguchi. The DNA team kept KUDO & Masahiro Takanashi away while Umeda and Sakaguchi slugged it out with a kickfest. Umeda got the upper hand and dropped Sakaguchi with the Umeda Driver for the victory. Sakaguchi handed the titles over to Umeda and told him “Well done”. The new champions bowed when Shuten-dōji left the ring.

Super Sasadango Machine got his wish and successfully defended the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title against Jiro Kuroshio. Sasadango began with his PowerPoint presentation and promised it wouldn’t take longer than 20 minutes, the same amount of time as Kuroshio’s entrance. Sasadango’s plan was to make Makoto Oishi lay a bear trap around Sumo Hall for Kuroshio to fall into during his long entrance. The first trap was placed on the ring apron. The second trap was planted near a group of women in the audience. They were given custom Kuroshio signs to lure Kuroshio over to the trap. The signs were hand made by Kazusada Higuchi. The third and final trap was placed beneath the balcony next to Kuroshio’s father where two other Sasadango Machines would hold him hostage. This trap was delayed because Oishi and the Machines were looking for him on the wrong side of the arena.

Kuroshio came out and nonchalantly avoided most of the traps. He vaulted over the first one, cartwheeled over the second and easily stepped over the third. The plan looked to be ruined until Sasadango grabbed the trap and placed it into the ring at the right moment. Kuroshio somersaulted over the ropes and landed head first into the trap! Sasadango hit the Vertical Drop Lehmann Shock for the quick finish but Kuroshio barely kicked out! Kuroshio retreated outside to get his bearings then sent Sasadango flying outside with a Hurricanrana. He then followed up with a big Moonsault off the top rope to Sasadango and Oishi outside. Sasadango tried to defend himself with the trap but Kuroshio kicked it away. He applied the Ikemen Clutch for the pin but time slowed down to a halt and a video of both wrestlers’ inner monologues played while they fought in slow motion. Ikemen grabbed the trap and threw it out of the ring (still in slow motion). He knocked down Sasadango and was ready to finish him off when another video played. This time it was his father’s inner monologue. It turns out his father is actually an omnipatent god here to offer his son a choice. He can choose either a Gold Trap or a Silver Trap. Kuroshio chose the Gold Trap. Oishi came out and placed the Gold Trap on top of Sasadango. Kuroshio didn’t noticed and Moonsaulted onto the trap! Sasadango got back up and pinned Kuroshio with a School Boy to win the match. Backstage Kuroshio was shocked to learn he is a son of a god. He then snapped back into reality and talked about wanting to challenge Konosuke Takeshita for the KO-D Title if Takeshita wins in the main event.

Maki Itoh made the grave mistake of throwing down Yoshiko-sama’s teddy bear in the Tokyo Joshi Pro match. This made Yoshiko-sama so angry that she beat up Itoh with the bear. Miyu Yamashita went toe to toe with Yoshiko-sama and Azusa Christie until she and Itoh were taken out with a Double Lariat. An outnumbered Mizuki was then picked apart by NEO Biishiki-gun with Saki-sama winning with her finisher. The Two Step Face Kick she uses is now called the Academy Award.

In the battle of the crazy gaijin, Colt Cabana outwitted Joey Ryan. Cabana blocked Ryan’s attempt to stick a lollipop into his mouth by redirecting it into Yukinori Matsui’s mouth. Ryan pulled out more lollipops and every time the lollipop ended up in Matsui’s mouth. Ryan’s plan finally worked when he pulled the lollipop out of Matsui’s mouth and into Cabana’s. Colt grabbed one of the lollipops from Matsui and shoved it into Ryan’s mouth. Cabana then forced Ryan to grab his own crotch and make him flip himself over. Ryan was helpless and tapped out to the Billy Goat’s Curse afterwards. Cabana tried to give a celebratory speech but the microphone cut out from him. When it finally worked he called himself the craziest gaijin in DDT.

An over the top rope rule was added to the Tag Gauntlet at the last minute. It was this addition that led to the eliminations of DEADLIFT LOLITA and Naomi Kingdom. The pace of the match changed when ALL OUT eliminated Antonio Honda & Ethan Page. The last two eliminations were caused by Kazuki Hirata. First he pinned Shunma Katsumata with the Miracle Cradle. LiLiCo & Makoto Oishi caused him some problems but Hirata caught LiLiCo in another Miracle Cradle to win the match. Toru Owashi handed him a pair of Hirata GO! glasses and he got to do his full dance celebration.

The Miraclians beat the Dragon Bombers in the Tokyo Joshi pre-show match. Rika Tatsumi did her best with her Hip Attacks and Maho Kurone tried to eat Shoko Nakajima’s tail. The Apricots hit Kurone with a Double 619 and Yuka Sakazaki landed the Magical Girl Splash for the three count.

Kenshin Chikano & Akira Jo were victorious over Kouki Iwasaki & Shinichiro Tominaga in the second pre-show match. Yep.

The very first match of the day saw the DDT Veteran team defeat Team DNA. Poor little Nobuhiro Shimatani was given the Cherryton Bomb from Cherry, the Midnight Buenos Aires from Hoshitango and the Reverse Splash from Mad Paulie all in a row. The pin was cut off but Paulie just gave Shimatani the Paulie Buster to end it.

DDT unveiled a brand new logo designed by NIGO, the creator of the A Bathing Ape fashion line. The logo resembles a wrestling ring on top of a cube. The intention was to create something that was not your typical pro wrestling logo but still has an element of pro wrestling associated with it.

*V5 for HarashiMarufuji.
7. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) defeated Colt Cabana with the Roll Through German Suplex (22:23).
*V10 for Konosuke Takeshita.

On Christmas Eve Konosuke Takeshita was given a tricky challenger for his final KO-D Openweignt Title defence of 2017. Colt Cabana made a brief visit to DDT back in February but impressed the company enough to be granted a championship match for his return. Cabana played mind games early on by loosening up leaving the ring to play around with a photographer, loosening a turnbuckle pad and calling for the audience to be quiet so he could yell in Takeshita’s face. Takeshita kicked out of the Superman Dive clutch that Cabana used to win his other DDT matches. The finish came when Cabana missed a Moonsault from the top rope. Takeshita grabbed Cabana from behind and pushed him into the loose turnbuckle. Cabana tried to hang on to the turnbuckle but it slipped from his hands. Takeshita then rolled him into the German Suplex to get the three count. After the match the two thanked each other. Cabana said he hopes to win the title next time DDT gives him a shot but he knows that won’t happen until he is in his fifties.

Before the show was over Takeshita asked Producer Danshoku Dino a few questions about the D-King Grand Prix next month. The prize is a KO-D Title shot at “JUDGEMENT 2018” in Sumo Hall on 25th March. Since Takeshita will be the champion for the entire tournament he wants to know what he gets if he wins. Does he nominate his challenger? Dino said yes but the grand prize is not just about a title match. Dino’s vision for the Grand Prix is the winner will be cast in DDT’s leading role for all of 2018. That’s why there are so many wrestlers entering the tournament aiming to take Takeshita down.

HarashiMarufuji survived a close call against DAMNATION to keep the KO-D Tag Team Titles. A Thrust Kick from Naomichi Marufuji caught HARASHIMA by mistake. Daisuke Sasaki capitalised with a Hurricanrana but only got a nearfall out of it. Sasaki went for La Mistica Cross Facelock but HARASHIMA did his best to resist it. The struggle lasted long enough for Marufuji to get back in and this time find his target with another Thrust Kick. He then got rid of Tetsuya Endo with the Shiranui. Sasaki still showed signs of life by kicking out of a High Kick/Thrust Kick combo but HARASHIMA put him down for good with the Somato. Backstage Marufuji told HARASHIMA afterwards he will be at Sumo Hall in March for “JUDGEMENT 2018”. He will cheer for HARASHIMA to win the D-King Grand Prix. Sasaki’s post-match comments were that he never believed in God until now. After the match he just had he feels like he was called up to Heaven. He then snapped out of this realisation and shouted at everyone.

For Diego’s last match in DDT for now, he got to pick up the win. The final moments in the 6-Man Tag bout came down to him and Rekka. Diego got the better of Rekka with the V.H.S. Afterwards the entire roster filled the ring to say goodbye to Diego. Akito asked him not to cry because he wanted him to leave DDT with a smile. He said everyone was suspicious of who Diego was when he came to Japan five years ago but since then he has grown into a fine pro wrestler with plenty of cheering fans. Akito wants Diego to wrestle forever no matter where he goes. Then maybe someday Akito will go to Chile to wrestle him. Diego said after five years in Japan he made loads of friends and he thanks all of them for taking care of him.

During the goodbyes the new Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion, Kazuko Hirata approached Diego to get a handshake. Diego instead gave Hirata the V.H.S and pinned him. Diego is now going back to Chile with the Iron Man Title!

Makoto Oishi started celebrating Christmas early by drinking champagne before the NωA’s vital match against Danshoku Dino and his cronies. It didn’t matter to Oishi that the bottle had a skull and bones warning on it. That is until a video of Dino looking for the bottle played on the screen. It turns out the drink was actually a laxative! Whoever drinks it gets cramps for 10 minutes then their stomach explodes. Dino and his team’s entrance took 2 minutes to complete so by the time the match began Oishi had 8 minutes to wrestle and then find a toilet. It didn’t help that Dino’s team all wasted time and targeted Oishi’s stomach throughout the match. Oh and Super Sasadango Machine was dressed as Santa Claus the whole time. When Oishi finally tagged out he fled ringside in search of the nearest restroom. He heroically returned with toilet roll and directed the rest of NωA to fight back. Unfortunately a Double Dropkick from Shunma Katsumata & MAO missed Antonio Honda and hit Oishi in the stomach instead. Time slowed down, the room went dark and “Ave Maria” played over the speakers. The worst had happened. Oishi waved to the audience and tried to leave but no one would let him. However this turned out to be an advantage because the bad smell coming from Oishi repulsed everyone into unconsciousness. Oishi then put Honda in a Triangle Choke (this is still happening in slow motion) to make him tap out from the smell. Dino wouldn’t accept the result and challenged NωA to another high stakes match on 3rd January. If NωA loses then their idol group must stay together. This time Dino has found two high class warriors who hate idols to team with him. It’s the Brahman Brothers!

Shuten-dōji all wore Santa outfits for their match. Tomomitsu Matsunaga didn’t like Saki Akai’s outfit and said she didn’t look cute at all in it.

T2HiJoshi, the “female relatives” of T2Hide were brought in to challenge Tokyo Joshi Pro mainly so they could beat Miyu Yamashita and take the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. Yuka Sakazaki embarrassed Margaret★Owashi by pulling down her dress. Yuna Manase grabbed Francoise☆Takagi by the hair for a Snapmare but accidentally pulled the wig off. Kazuko Hirata made everyone wear Hirata GO! glasses for a dance but was pinned by Yamashita. After the match Hirata admitted Yamashita was superior and asked for a handshake. It was a ruse and Hirata gave Yamashita a Stunner to win the Iron Man Title. He later lost it to Diego.

At intermission both teams held separate meet and greet for fans next to each other. According to DDT both of them were sold out.

When Keisuke Okuda was done stretching Daiki Shimomura with the Manjigatame to win the opening match, he swiftly kicked him on the ground afterwards and gave him the middle finger. Shigehiro Irie ignored Okuda’s behaviour and bowed to the audience. This is because Irie will be taking another overseas excursion in January and will be gone from DDT for a while.

Gota Ihashi thought he had the size to stand up to Mad Paulie. He didn’t. Paulie hammered him with blows and pinned him with the Reverse Splash.

Earlier in the year, Saki Akai won a match that gave her the power to be DDT General Manager for one day. Since then nothing had come from it but today Akai finally announced her plan. She is using the power to run a self-produce show in Shinjuku FACE on 14th March. Hisaya Imabayashi handed over his old Amon Tsumuri afro which in this situation is the symbol of the old GM role in DDT. Akai begrudgingly wore it to pose for photos then threw it away.

At the end of the show a bunch of wrestlers commented on the year they had in DDT. HARASHIMA only won one championship this year. However he starts 2018 with the KO-D Tag Titles so he is already on track to make his 2018 better than his 2017. Marufuji said his time in DDT was normal and good. He is disappointed that HarashiMarufuji did not win the Tokyo Sports Best Tag Team Award. Winning that award will be his DDT goal in 2018. Cabana wanted to say something but his microphone was cut off. KUDO wants to welcome the new year with a successful KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles defence. Nobuhiro Shimatani interrupted Sanshiro Takagi to say he will win every tournament and championship next year. Kazuki Hirata kicked Shimatani away and called him annoying. Hirata said he wants 2018 to be the year of Hirata. He was then stomped on by everybody else. Takagi finally got to speak and reflected on DDT’s shows in Saitama Super Arena and Sumo Hall. He then brought up their sale to CyberAgent. But there were no major changes in December. He promised DDT will walk with the fans all over the next year. Takeshita gave the final word. DDT won’t change even under new ownership. They will continue to entertain the fans as much as possible and he will be the champion as they do so.

6. You Can Enjoy Meals And Wrestling In Machida! Lunchtime Special Tag Match: Konosuke Takeshita & Akito defeated Shigehiro Irie & Kouki Iwasaki when Takeshita pinned Iwasaki with the Surprise Rose (12:07).

Konosuke Takeshita called Shigehiro Irie a strong potential challenger. Even though Irie is not entering the D-King Grand Prix in January, Takeshita knows if he holds onto the KO-D Openweight Title long enough he will inevitably defend it against Irie. Akito swore at Kouki Iwasaki for constantly kicking him during the match. If that’s the way it goes with him then Akito will start kicking back more and more.

At the start of the show Saki Akai and Nobuhiro Shimatani were promoting the Tokyo Best Western hotel with the venue’s sales manager. When they joked about naming the newly added chandelier after Danshoku Dino, Dino snuck into the ring and gave the sales manager a Lip Lock, knocking him out. Dino then asked if his team won today then they could stay the night in the hotel’s exclusive suite room. Shimatani asked for the same if his team won. Hisaya Imabayashi asked the sales manager but he was still unconscious so they all assumed he said yes. Dino’s team won the match and he kissed the sales manager again to celebrate.

Masahiro Takanashi threw MAO into the referee then gave MAO a Low Blow. MAO was still able to react and he gave Takanashi a Thrust Kick. But when he turned around to wake the referee up, Takanashi Cradled him to steal a win.

Kazusada Higuchi joined in the fun with NωA and took MAO’s role in the musical performance leading into the first match. He continued to act like an idol after winning the match and performed with the full group and also Kazuki Hirata at the end of the show.

6. HARASHIMA, Soma Takao & TAKA Michinoku defeated Daisuke Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie when Michinoku submitted Sasaki with the Just Facelock (15:27).
7. ALL OUT Vs Shuten-dōji!: Konosuke Takeshita & Akito defeated KUDO & Masahiro Takanashi when Akito pinned Takanashi with the Hanamasa (13:05).

There are only a few more shows left for the entire ALL OUT unit to be together. Their goal is to keep the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles until Diego leaves Japan. Their defence against Shuten-dōji in Hakata next week is their last threat to their plan.

Daisuke Sasaki wanted TAKA Michinoku’s attention so he got it. Michinoku countered Sasaki’s Hurricanrana into the Just Facelock to make him tap out. Afterwards Sasaki called to him saying he is the one he wants. Sasaki wants to give TAKA an Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title match. TAKA accepted but since he just beat Sasaki that should mean he picks the date and the place. It will take place at the K-DOJO Shin-Kiba 1st RING show on 17th December. Sasaki gladly agreed. Hisaya Imabayashi tried to point out that Ken Ohka is supposed to get the next title shot on 20th December but nobody cared. TAKA said his match was made first and he won’t hear otherwise. In the backstage interview Sasaki said how much he respects TAKA and talked about the previous times they wrestled together from the Italian Four Horsemen to the Best Of The Super Juniors. Sasaki hopes beating TAKA Michinoku will send him on track towards the WWE. Reaching America is the final life goal for Daisuke Sasaki.

Diego was so happy to have a match with Dick Togo today and called it the most important match in his pro wrestling life. He thanked Togo because his life has changed so much since they first met each other five years ago. Togo said back then Diego was a wrestling otaku but today he has become a fine wrestler. Togo wants Diego to take all that he has learned in Japan and teach it to his friends and juniors in Chile. Diego can changes their lives just as Togo changed his.

Keisuke Okuda got into a fight with both Shigehiro Irie and Kazusada Higuchi after their match.

Kazuki Hirata had Sanshiro Takagi and Toru Owashi as his cornermen for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title match. However Takagi & Owashi wanted Miyu Yamashita to win so they helped her out at certain times like pushing the rope towards her when she was put in a submission hold. Yamashita herself started to gain control of the match and had Hirata in position to take the Crash Rabbit Heat. Knowing he was about to be defeated, Hirata called for Nobuhiro Shimatani to come down and hand him something. It was a letter Hirata had written and he wanted to read it before he lost. In the letter Hirata confessed that he is dying. He wanted to tell Yamashita something before he passes. He remembered helping to set up the first ever Toyko Joshi Pro show. At the time he didn’t see what the big deal was about the project and was in a rotten mood having to spend his day working at the event. That all changed when he saw Miyu Yamashita’s debut match where she danced during her entrance. Hirata had one request and that is to dance with Yamashita to her “Genghis Khan” theme tune. Yamashita agreed and they danced together. Hirata afterwards asked for a handshake but it was a trick and he struck Yamashita. She got so mad she kicked the hell out of Hirata and then pinned him with the Crash Rabbit Heat to defend the Iron Man Title. After the match Takagi gave Yamashita the Stunner but she kicked out. Owashi gave her La Magistral Cradle but she kicked out again. Takagi challenged Yamashita to defend the title on 24th December. The Tokyo Joshi GM Tetsuya Koda came out and told Takagi that Yamashita should be preparing for her Korakuen Hall main event match on 4th January. She cannot risk getting injured by wrestling men. Takagi pointed out that she can still wrestle other women so he will contact his relative Francoise☆Takagi, Owashi’s relative Margaret☆Owashi and Hirata’s relative Kazuko Hirata to come over. Tokyo Joshi will soon compete against T2Joshi! Yamashita accepted the challenge.

Kouki Iwasaki showed shades of envy towards Yuki Ueno when Ueno was introduced as a Differ Cup winner. He attacked Ueno and threw a table at him away from ringside. Ueno fought back and set Iwasaki up to be pinned by Kota Umeda. He hit a Missile Dropkick then Umeda did the Umeda Driver.

Danshoku Dino, Toru Owashi & Antonio Honda formed the HωA (Homo Wrestling Idol) to take on the NωA. They wore modified NωA shirts and also sang “Never Give Up☆I LOVE YOU” which made all of NωA mad. NωA got their revenge by forcing Dino to do the Danshoku Nightmare VR to Owashi. They then gave Honda the Triple Miracle Ecstasy to win the match.

*V3 for Daisuke Sasaki.
6. Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Yasu Urano when Ishii pinned Urano with the Kneel Kick (24:59).

Keisuke Ishii celebrated a successful box office in his family’s hometown of Tokorozawa. In the main event Ishii teamed with Shigehiro Irie fresh off of Irie’s latest excursion to America. They were victorious over Konosuke Takeshita & Yasu Urano after the Beast Bomber followed by the Kneel Kick kept Urano down for the count. Ishii was happy with how the match turned out and he thanked the other three for getting involved. Ishii also asked Irie to team with him again because they make for a strong pairing. Irie told Ishii that they will be opponents on 23rd November for the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles match at Korakuen Hall. Irie will have to fight him because he wants to be a champion.

Diego failed to win the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title from Daisuke Sasaki. The two butted heads after the match and said some words in the heat of the moment after the match. Diego can’t remember what was said because he took so much damage during the match. In his post-match interview, Sasaki recalled the first time he met Diego. He was wrestling in Bolivia and came across this strange person who was able to speak to him in Japanese. He kept telling him he really wanted to go to Japan and wrestle there. Their paths would cross again a few times until Diego, then known as Guanchulo, finally made his way to Japan to wrestle for DDT. Sasaki’s next title defence is against Shinichiro Tominaga in Ganbare☆Wrestling. However, Sasaki wants to defend the belt against TAKA Michinoku somewhere else instead.

Today was KUDO’s first match back after the concussion from last month. It was also Kota Umeda’s first DDT match since September 2016. Shuten-dōji held a toast for the successful returns of them both. KUDO said that at last all four “sake drinks” are in stock again. Now it is time to go get some championships!

NωA invited Keisuke Ishii’s father to become the newest member of their group. He thanked them for the offer but turned them down because he wants to stay in Tokorozawa with his family.

Everybody entering the Fresh Ariyama Greengrocer Cup Rumble came equipped with a different vegetable provided by the match sponsor. Each wrestler had to take a bite out of their vegetable when they entered the ring and tell the audience how delicious it tastes. Tetsuya Endo didn’t do it so Mad Paulie had to stuff an onion into his mouth to prevent him from being disqualified. Paulie’s prize for winning the match was a bunch of matsutake mushrooms. Endo had to stop him from immediately eating all of it.

Makoto Oishi, Sanshiro Takagi and Toru Owashi met in the ring at the start of the show to promote the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles match on 23rd November. Takagi brought up the mystery captain of the YaroZ team and accidentally let slip that it is Shiro Koshinaka. He and Owashi quickly fled the ring when he realised what he did.

4. Legendary Man Jet Resurrected Here! Nagoya Specialty 6-Man Tag Match – Technical Jet Rules: HARASHIMA, Toru Owashi & Shogo Takagi defeated Danshoku Dino, Keisuke Ishii & Antonio Honda when Takagi pinned Honda with the Technical Jet (13:10).
5. From Nagoya World! Special Single Match: Shigehiro Irie defeated Soma Takao with the Beast Bomber (12:23).
6. ALL OUT Vs DAMNATION!: Daisuke Sasaki & Tetsuya Endo defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Akito when Sasaki pinned Takeshita with the Sasaki Hurricanrana (16:01).

Daisuke Sasaki avenged yesterday’s result by pinning Konosuke Takeshita in today’s main event. Sasaki caught Takeshita with his flash Hurricanrana for the sudden three count. After the match Sasaki said that yesterday he borrowed from Ken Ohka but today he gave it back. He offered a handshake to Takeshita and convinced him that today he is different. Of course, he was lying and he kicked Takeshita between the legs during the handshake. Sasaki taunted Takeshita for not knowing any better then said he values the DDT Extreme Title over the KO-D Openweight Title.

I think this is Shigehiro Irie’s final DDT show before his next tour of America. He won his last match and is still on good terms with his opponent Soma Takao. Irie said it is important for both of their generation to grow up. He knows he will grow stronger in America and he hopes Takao will grow stronger too while he is gone. Then they can fight again when Irie comes home.

Disaster BOX were reunited to celebrate the return of Shogo “Jet” Takagi to a DDT ring. HARASHIMA marked the occasion by wearing his old Disaster BOX gear (which was pretty much the Darkside HERO! costume without the mask). Danshoku Dino said after ten years he and Takagi will get to settle their grudge. He then suggested the match to be fought under Technical Jet Rules. The winner is the first wrestler to use Takagi’s wind up punch finisher. It is necessary for the person to do four punches and yell “Jet!” during each punch. Then they had to wind up the fifth punch and hit it to win. Takagi and Antonio Honda got into a duel between Jet Punches and Bionic Elbows. It ended with Takagi coming out on top and hitting the final punch to win the match for Disaster BOX. HARASHIMA said in the post match speech that when he was in Disaster BOX he took part in more serious matches. But it was a pleasure to have fun with his old friends again.

Kazuki Hirata was accompanied by members of AED Medical Pro Wrestling in the opening match. The group promotes medical care through pro wrestling and music.
