*Abdullah Kobayashi, Yoshihisa Uto & Hideki Suzuki fail in V1. The Iron Family becomes the 29th Yokohama Shopping Street 6-Man Tag Team Champions!
5. Aiseki Tag Vs Sento Minzoku!: Fuminori Abe & Ikuto Hidaka defeated Ryuichi Sekine & Minoru Fujita when Abe submitted Sekine with the Manjigatame (12:14).
6. Yoga Vs Stretch! Final Settlement Match: Best Stretchman V3, Best Stretchman Amazon & Stretchman Man defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi, Brahman Shu & Brahman Kei when V3 pinned Hiroshi after the Double Stretch Kick (6:58).
7. Union MAX Title: Ryota Nakatsu (c) defeated Isami Kodaka with the V Slider (17:12).
*V4 for Ryota Nakatsu.

There is now no doubt that BASARA is in the Ryota Nakatsu era. His win over Isami Kodaka in today’s main event is proof that BASARA is no longer just the Isami Kodaka show. But Kodaka put up a good fight going so far to do a Diving Double Knee Drop from the top rope to the outside! But Nakatsu toughed it out and had Kodaka stunned with a Buzzsaw Kick followed by a German Suplex. From there Nakatsu hit the V Slider and got the three count to stay as the Union MAX Champion. Nakatsu called it a tough battle but also something that shows how fun BASARA is. He got the crowd to chant “Sparky” then said as long as he is on top in BASARA, BASARA will grow in the wrestling world.

In an show of companionship, Trans-Am Hiroshi shaved the top of his head so it would look similar to the Brahman Brothers. He also wrestled in a ZOZO Suit which is a black body suit covered in white dots. Best Stretchman V3 entered the ring with plenty of stretch film wrapped around his body to protect him from the Brahmans’ water attack. Hiroshi used a pair of scissors to cut off the film and the Brahmans then splashed V3 with buckets of water. Everything backfired when Hiroshi was accidentally hit with a traffic sign. Stretchman Man sliced Hiroshi with his hook then V3 & Best Stretchman Amazon hit the Double Stretch Kick for the win. The Brahmans loudly asked the audience after the match why was this picked to be the semi-main event?

There was duelling chants of “Shawn Capture” and “Let’s Combine” when Ikuto Hidaka and Ryuichi Sekine started off their tag match. Later on when Hidaka was busy dealing with Minoru Fujita, Sekine tried to apply the Combine to Fuminori Abe. But he was stopped with the Rabbit Punch and placed in a Manjigatama, giving Abe the submission win for his team.

Motivated by their new Peavey sponsorship, the Iron Family fought tooth and nail to win the Yokohama Shopping Street 6-Man Tag Team Titles. The team has SAGAT to thank for that. SAGAT smashed a guitar over Abdullah Kobayashi’s head then with the rest of his team’s help got him over the top rope for the first elimination. The champions took over when Hideki Suzuki tipped over a ladder that FUMA was climbing, landing him outside the ring for the elimination. Yusuke Kubo tried to cradle Suzuki for a pinfall but Suzuki kicked out. Suzuki & Yoshihisa Uto then gave Kubo a double team Backbreaker to pin him instead. SAGAT was in danger having to fight on his own. Uto strangled him over the ladder with a chain but SAGAT kept fighting. Kobayashi tried to get back involved so FUMA & Kubo also came back to help SAGAT. Together the Iron Family gave Uto a Shield style triple Power Bomb to eliminate him. The match was now down to Suzuki and SAGAT. Suzuki applied a Sleeper Hold but SAGAT rolled both of them over the top rope and onto the ring apron. SAGAT then bit onto Suzuki’s arm to break the hold, got back into the ring and used the Goregrind to knock Suzuki to the floor to win the match and the championships! The fans chanted “Heavy Metal” until Kobayashi took the microphone. His team lost today but like in any sport there is a home game and an away game. Next time the two teams meet it will be in Big Japan!

Takumi Tsukamoto and Jun Masaoka whaled on each other with chairs and steel cans in their match. Masaoka was in control when he placed a can over Tsukamoto’s head then Thrust Kicked it. He thought he had Tsukamoto placed where he wanted him after a Conchairto. But when Masaoka climbed the turnbuckles, Tsukamoto got up and Superplexed him onto the chairs! Tsukamoto then hit a Lariat as Masaoka tried to get back up. If that wasn’t enough, Tsukamoto then placed a can over Masaoka’s head and threw another can at him! Finally he hit the Zudon onto the cans to end the match in victory. Masaoka said he feels heartbroken over the result but it doesn’t matter. He lost but he wants another match and will continue to do his best. Tsukamoto said he is trying to climb the ranks in BASARA even though it is leaving him with scars. The fact that wrestlers from other groups are coming over looking to fight him makes him happy.

Sento Minzoku had a bad day in general. Kodaka lost in the main event, Sekine & Fujita lost their tag match and Daiki Shimomura was beaten by Yasu Urano. Shimomura left his mark on Urano though. They got into a chop battle and Urano decided to take his shirt off to taunt his opponent. That was until Shimomura’s chops got so painful that Urano had to put his shirt back on. Sadly for Shimomura he missed the Swanton Bomb and Urano pinned him with the Tombstone.

Akiyori Takizawa scored the pin in the opener by using his Tilt 3 (Angle Slam) finisher in BASARA for the first time.

1. Ryuichi Sekine defeated Masato Kamino with the Let’s Combine (6:16).
2. Turnabout Pro Wrestling Trial: Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi defeated Gouma Ryu and Banana Senga when Hiroshi submitted Senga with the Scorpion Deathlock (4:07).
3. FUMA, SAGAT & Trans-Am ★ Ryuji defeated Takumi Tsukamoto, Takato Nakano & Yasu Urano when FUMA pinned Nakano with the Heavy Metal Anthem (10:20).
4. Yusuke Kubo defeated Jun Masaoka with the Wrist Clutch Goro Suplex (11:21).
5. Aiseki Tag Vs Stretchmen!: Fuminori Abe & Ikuto Hidaka defeated Best Stretchman V3 & Best Stretchman Amazon when Hidaka submitted V3 with the Shawn Capture (11:24).
6. Sparky Vs Sento Minzoku!: Isami Kodaka, Minoru Fujita & Daiki Shimomura defeated Ryota Nakatsu, Naoki Tanizaki & Akiyori Takizara when Kodaka pinned Nakatsu with the Isamuashi Zan (14:16).

Although Ryota Nakatsu was pinned by Isami Kodaka, he feels good about today’s turn of events. Today Kodaka wrestled like a man resurrected and Nakatsu can now look forward to defending the Union MAX Title against the best version of Kodaka. It wouldn’t be worthwhile for Nakatsu to beat Kodaka if Kodaka is off his game. When Sparky left, Kodaka asked Ryuichi Sekine to get him a beer. The fans chanted for Sekine and as a joke the music guy played Sekine’s music instead of Kodaka’s to close out the show.

There was no clean fighting from either Yusuke Kubo or Jun Masaoka in their anticipated singles match. Kubo carried an iron pipe with him and threw powder in Masaoka’s face. Masaoka would try to rip apart Kubo’s mask when he was in control of the match. A well placed Lariat from Kubo put him in position to use a move from his past, the Wrist Clutch Goro Suplex, to win. After the match Takumi Tsukamoto entered the ring to check on Masaoka but Masaoka shrugged him off. He told Tsukamoto he’s not in BASARA to make friends. He doesn’t want to team with him, he wants to fight him instead! Tsukamoto told him if that’s what he wants then so be it. But he better be prepared.

Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi was on trial for allegedly defrauding a yoga instructor into giving him a free lesson during his journey in India. Hiroshi interrupted the proceedings by getting Gouma Ryu and Banana Senga to do yoga with him. Senga stopped because he heard that yoga can be a dangerous because it can expose the human body to disease. Senga showed proof by taking off his shirt and revealing there was eczema across his back from doing yoga last week! Ryu agreed that yoga was unsanitary and the two decided to attack Hiroshi. Hiroshi Clotheslined the both of them and made Senga tap out to a Scorpion Deathlock. Hiroshi then told Senga he wants one final match against the Best Stretchmen on 21st March. His partners will be The Brahman Brothers! Senga accepted the challenge then admitted he actually got eczema from going to a love hotel and getting bitten by a bed bug. He was already gone when the others realised he just admitted to lying in court during the trial.

6. Sparky Vs Sento Minzoku!! Full Confrontation Tag Match: Ryota Nakatsu & Naoki Tanizaki defeated Isami Kodaka & Ryuichi Sekine when Tanizaki pinned Sekine after the Merged Implant Bomb (16:08).

Ryota Nakatsu & Naoki Tanizaki worked together to put Ryuichi Sekine away with a double team Implant Bomb. Isami Kodaka told Nakatsu he is trying harder as he grows older. Nakatsu said Kodaka misunderstands because Nakatsu’s generation is also doing their best. They are both determined to win the Union MAX Title match at Korakuen Hall on 21st March.

Yuya Susumu wrestles for FREEDOMS. Devil Magician is a local Hiroshima indy wrestler and might be related to Rey Paroma. I’m not sure. Before the show began there was a performance by Sanyo High School’s drum department and the DDT website I think says the mother of Magician and Paroma introduced the band to the audience. I’m unsure if I got that translation correct.

1. Union MAX Title: Ryota Nakatsu Vs Isami Kodaka

The win-loss record for Sento Minzoku hasn’t been perfect since Isami Kodaka’s return. The Sparky group have been victorious over them a couple of times, enough for Kodaka to shy away from the idea of challenging for the Union MAX Title. However in a twist Ryota Nakatsu approached him for a match with the championship on the line. Nakatsu’s run as champion is approaching a high level of success among the title’s history. A defence against Kodaka will bring it to another level.

5. Sento Minzoku Vs Sparky!: Isami Kodaka & Minoru Fujita defeated Naoki Tanizaki & Akiyori Takizawa when Kodaka pinned Takizawa with a Cradle (12:19).
6. Union MAX Title: Ryota Nakatsu (c) defeated Fuminori Abe with the V Slider (16:57).
*V3 for Ryota Nakatsu.

Ryota Nakatsu stands tall after his third Union MAX Title defence. His battle plan for Fuminori Abe was to combat his submission holds with German Suplexes and Buzzsaw Kicks until he could hit the V Slider to win. He didn’t expect to be punched in the face so hard but he has no bad feelings towards Abe over it. Abe said that three years ago they had a match together that he lost. He lost again today but he got more in against Nakatsu this time. Both Nakatsu and Abe praised each other and before Abe left he said he will beat Nakatsu within a year so Nakatsu better be prepared.

Isami Kodaka pinned Akiyori Takizawa with a Cradle thanks to Minoru Fujita giving Takizawa an Enzuigiri from the ring apron as he ran the ropes.

FUMA set up a trap to get the advantage on Takumi Tsukamoto. When it was time for FUMA’s entrance, SAGAT came out instead. While Tsukamoto argued with him, FUMA snuck into the ring and attacked Tsukamoto from behind with a chair. SAGAT stuck around to hit Tsukamoto with a Lariat while FUMA distracted the referee. More chairs were used until the steel cans were brought out. It was all going well for FUMA until he missed the Heavy Metal Anthem, crashing onto the chairs after Tsukamoto rolled out of the way. Tsukamoto hit FUMA with the cans and won with the Running Zudon. The two glared at each other after the match without either saying a word.

The ownership rights of the Best Stretch store was on the line in Match #3. Best Stretchman V3 tried to cancel the stipulation because the store is run independently from DDT but the match went ahead. For the second show in a row Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi channelled Riki Choshu to do the Lariat and the Scorpion Deathlock on V3 to win the match. V3 protested by saying he didn’t give up (he did) then demanded a 3 Vs 1 Handicap Match next month. Hiroshi agreed and picked FUMA & SAGAT as his partners. Stretchman Man instead demanded a three match series on the next show. They all agreed to the following three matches: Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi Vs Stretchman Man, FUMA Vs Best Stretchman Amazon and Best Stretchman V3 Vs FUMA. Whichever side wins the most gets the Best Stretch store!

Things got very heated between Yusuke Kubo and Jun Masaoka during their match. Masaoka targets Kubo’s mask by untying the strings. Then when the match was at its peak, Masaoka grabbed Kubo by the mask and pulled it off! The referee called for a disqualification. Masaoka didn’t care and hit the unmasked Kubo with a Thrust Kick while Kubo was trying to cover his face. Kubo returned fire and gave Masaoka a Back Drop. The two had to be pulled apart by their tag partners but Masaoka had the last say by holding up Kubo’s mask.

It is now confirmed that the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match is the main event for DDT’s first show of the year. #STRONGHEARTS defend against ALL OUT and there’s a few small stories to keep track of. CIMA wants Akito to take the fall so #STRONGHEARTS will have swept over the entire ALL OUT unit. CIMA is also encouraging Duan Yingnan to beat Konosuke Takeshita to raise the newcomer’s reputation. Takeshita is riding a wave of momentum by winning the D-Ou Grand Prix as well as the New Year Shuffle Tag Tournament. #STRONGHEART’s only defeat in DDT happened because of Akito and he’s the sole person in the company to claim a win over the invaders. Yuki Iino is eager to show what he learned teaming with Daisuke Sekimoto on the New Year’s Eve show.

The 3 Way Tag is now a Ladder match with an otoshidama gift envelope hanging above the ring for the wrestlers to fight over.

7. TOKYO Princess Of Princess Title: Miyu Yamashita (c) Vs Maki Itoh

For those attending this show, it will end at around 2:30pm so you’ll have plenty of time to get ready for the Tokyo Dome afterwards.

Will Miyu Yamashita’s curiosity about Maki Itoh’s abilities get in the way of her own performance? Two months ago she intentionally beat Itoh with a Crab Hold in order to see how Itoh would recover her momentum. A month later Itoh was able to pin Yamashita as part of a 2/3 Falls Tag Match so Itoh is capable of beating the champion even if it’s by fluke. Yamashita is certain they will have an interesting match together and wants to find out what version of Itoh shows up for the big main event. Itoh thinks this is the most special TOKYO Princess Title match ever. She knows that the fanbase are expecting her to lose but that only means they won’t see it coming when she wins! Itoh lost a lot and went through many twists and turns to get here. If she becomes champion, fans can look at her and think “Maybe I am a loser like Itoh, but I might be able to win like her too.”

The Magical Sugar Rabbits are determined to hold onto the TOKYO Princess Tag Team Titles because the championship is what makes their team. They will always be on good terms but should they lose the belts to the Twin Cam Monsters then it would greatly diminish their bond. The belts are what brought them together in the first place and they’re having too much fun together to let it fade away like that.

Sparky won the main event over Sento Minzoku but continued to attack them after the bell. Suddenly a person wearing a bag over his head entered the ring and fought off Ryota Nakatsu. The man then removed his bag and was revealed to be Isami Kodaka! He said he will be ready to return from injury in time for the 6th January BASARA show. Kodaka asked Nakatsu if he’s been having fun as the Union MAX Champion while he was absent. Even though Kodaka hasn’t been at the shows lately he’s still watching them and when he comes back on the 6th he wants to challenge for the championship! Naoki Tanizaki took the microphone and asked Kodaka if he remembers who took the MAX Title from him? It was Tanizaki and he’s not going to let Kodaka come in and get a title match so quickly. If Kodaka wants to challenge Nakatsu, he better get past Tanizaki first! Kodaka accepted Tanizaki’s challenge for 6th January.

Trans-Am ★ Ryuji defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi and looked to have hurt their friendship in the process. Ryuji punched Hiroshi and told him goodbye after the match, leaving Hiroshi alone in the ring. Hiroshi was upset until “Last Christmas” played and Ryuji came back out wearing a Santa hat singing along to the song. Hiroshi joined in, they hugged and then wished everyone a Merry Christmas.

Yasu Urano went through an audition to become a Best Stretchman. He pinned Stretchman Man with a School Boy after Man accidentally struck Best Stretchman Amazon with his hook. After the match it was determined that Urano failed the audition because Best Stretchman V3 felt he acted too stubborn whenever he was asked to do the Best Stretch exercises.

Masato Kamino’s first show as a BASARA wrestler was a busy one. He lost his debut match to Fuminori Abe but left the ring feeling encouraged. He then had to come back out because he was now being put on trial by Gouma Ryu and Atsushi Maruyama! He was accused of fraud and exploitation in regards to fight money. Kamino had to sit through Ryu and Maruyama wrestling each other while they argued over the case. It was during this that information came out about Kamino having a bad history with another wrestling company beginning with the letter K. Ryuichi Sekine was brought out as a witness but Maruyama ignored him so he could talk with a woman in the front row instead. Ryu got Maruyama back into the ring and they both agreed to use wrestling as a way to relax during their lawyer work. They then attacked Kamino and hit him over the head with Ryu’s law book. Maruyama then knocked over Ryu and pinned Kamino with a Buzzsaw Kick. There was a lesson to be learned today. Maruyama wants Kamino to face his past and be honest about it. When he does he will then be able to take a fresh step in a new direction. Kamino agreed and promised to do his best from the ground up in BASARA.
