2. Gatoh Move Offer Match: Makoto defeated Tokiko Kirihara with the Renkan no Kei (12:35).
3. Miyako Matsumoto & Alex Lee defeated Marika Kobashi & Echika Miyabi when Lee pinned Miyabi with the Vinco Plex (13:25).
4. GanJo Vs JUST TAP OUT! Special Tag Match: Sumika Yanagawa & Misa Kagura defeated YuuRI & Yoshiko Hasegawa when Kagura submitted Hasegawa with an Elevated Half Crab (11:24).

The main event of today’s Ganbare☆Joshi show was an emotional reunion for YuuRI. She is originally from JTO and her debut was on the same day as both of her opponents Sumika Yanagawa & Misa Kagura. She fought her best alongside Yoshiko Hasegawa but the GanJo team lost to the visitors. YuuRI did not like the result and refused to admit defeat. Kagura told YuuRI they all started out together but YuuRI was the one who left. Kagura & Yanagawa however stuck together and formed the tag team called 1111 referencing the date of their debuts (11th November). YuuRI said when she first heard the name she thought she could be a part of it too. Ever since then she’s been jealous of Yanagawa & Kagura’s success. She once fought Yanagawa in a singles match that went to a time limit draw but never faced Kagura one on one. It’s a match she always wanted to do so she asked her to let it happen at the next GanJo show on 16th July. Kagura accepted because she wants to go back to JTO as somebody who has beaten YuuRI.

Miyako Matsumoto has been an unwelcome surprise everytime she’s shown up at GanJo but today she had something in store that everyone would appreciate. She is in charge of a unit called Miyako Gundan and it contains about 500,000 members around the world. The unit recently added a new member and Matsumoto wants to introduce her to GanJo. It’s Banny Oikawa! The former Ice Ribbon wrestler has been on a break since last year and spent her time wondering where should she return to. Something she wants to do is mixed gender wrestling and she became jealous of the GanJo roster for getting to partake in those kind of matches. She talked to several wrestlers about it, Matsumoto included. Matsumoto told Oikawa to leave it to her and here she is showing up to today’s GanJo show. Michiyoshi Mishima was happy to see Oikawa again but had to tell her that GanJo stopped doing intergender wrestling since their restart. He suggested that Oikawa use GanJo as her return to wrestling first and then he can convince Ken Ohka to book her for mixed tag matches in Ganbare☆Pro. Oikawa liked the idea and agreed to wrestle her first match back on 16th July.

The Gatoh Move match got a bit out of control when the seconds at ringside got involved. Tokiko Kirihara had Sayaka Obihiro in her corner while Makoto as always had her manager Matsuzawa-san accompanying her. Both of the seconds got into the ring and caused some antics while Makoto and Kirihara were fighting each other.

I don’t normally write up news updates while shows are going on but today is an unusual exception. One of DDT’s ring trucks did not arrive in time for the show so as of writing the ring is bare, missing all of its canvas mats, corner pads and ring aprons. They decided to go on with the show wrestling on the exposed wood panels but DDT has gotten in contact with a nearby wrestling promotion to rent out the remaining equipment they need. The match order was changed so now the comedy stuff will go on first (Pheromones will humiliate you but they’re not going to head drop you onto the canvas) and as soon as the rented equipment arrives the show will go to intermission and get the ring fully ready.

I’m going to spend a long time wondering about that Tokyo Joshi Pro update back from the end of March. They said at the time that Miyu Yamashita’s return from excursion could have been delayed if a big opportunity came her way. TJPW was right to put that out given how much they rely on ticket sales and cannot risk even slightly damaging their customer base’s trust over any kind of false advertising. It’s why you so often see Japanese promotions giving updates and offering apologies over even the most inconsequential setbacks that changes the show lineups while in other countries you can get out of luck and be stuck with “Card Subject To Change” as the only excuse. So there had to have been something discussed between Yamashita and another party over a big booking somewhere. That her return falls on the same weekend as AEW and New Japan holding the second Forbidden Door PPV sent a lot of people’s imaginations into a frenzy, myself included. Was it all a coincidence? Did TJPW put the original message out there just in case Yamashita got an offer from anybody, not just AEW, to extend her stay in America just that little bit longer? Or was there a deal somewhere that fell apart? I think it’s the former but that’s because it will drive me up the wall if it turns out to be the latter.

Yuki Ishida has been pulled from this weekend’s shows after coming up with a fever and being diagnosed with a stomach bug. The early section of the card has been changed as a result. Poor Akito really got the short end of the stick here. He was supposed to fight Pheromones in a 3 Vs 2 Handicap match on the team with the numbers advantage and now he has to fight them on his own!

After finding out about the prize, Sasaki is confident he will win and get to drink three bottles a day. Desperado admits what counts as one year’s supply for Sasaki is probably the same as a five year supply for himself.

The second show of GanPro’s May tripleshot is all being put together by Yumehito Imanari. The main event celebrates his 10th anniversary with the promotion. He also decided to do a tag team match between the old generation and the new generation. The joshi match will have both Haruhi and YuuRI wrestling in “arena” branded swimsuits. The opening match will be a Rumble where everyone will enter to Imanari’s theme song “POISON ~In This World Where I Can’t Say What I Want To Say~” by Takashi Sorimachi. Every participant will also have to represent Imanari in some way so I think there is going to be several impersonations of his different gimmicks during the match.

Riara is getting some more valuable in-ring experience, this time getting a match against Ancham.

The women of Ganbare☆Joshi do not want to deal with Miyako Matsumoto and her new partner in crime Alex Lee so a team from P.P.P. Tokyo will face them instead. PPP are fresh off of their first time in Korakuen Hall so Marika Kobashi & Echika Miyabi must both be feeling extra motivated to represent their company.

The King Of DDT is down to four men. The crown will go to either Jun Akiyama, Chris Brookes, Yuki Ueno or last year’s winner Kazusada Higuchi.

Hideki Okatani was offered a DDT Extreme Title match by Shunma Katsumata after he beat him in Round 1 of the tournament. Katsumata said he will come up with a match stipulation that will show off Okatani’s true self to the fans.

An upset from the weekend saw Ganbare☆Pro’s rookie Munetatsu Nakamura pin Isami Kodaka in a 6-Man Tag Match. When Kodaka later asked Mizuki Watase for a title shot, he was turned down for that reason. Watase then came up with the idea to put Kodaka and Nakamura in a No. 1 Contender’s match to determine who he defends the Spirit Of Ganbare Title against at Ota Ward Gymnasium this July.

Two “assassins” are being sent over to Ganbare☆Joshi by JUST TAP OUT to continue the growing rivalry between the two brands. Both Sumika Yanagawa & Misa Kagura have been with JTO since 2020 and are familiar with YuuRI from her time there. Yoshiko Hasegawa is the odd one out in this match.

Miyako Matsumoto and Alex Lee will both be on the show and this time they are actually booked for it.

Itoh has come to collect and Mizuki decided it is a big enough match for Ota Ward Gym. Itoh is dedicating her next tour of American bookings to prepare for the title match.
