4. HARASHIMA, Daichi Hashimoto & Yuki Ueno defeated Kazusada Higuchi, Antonio Honda & Keisuke Okuda when HARASHIMA pinned Honda with the Somato (10:05).
5. Opening War! ALL OUT Vs STRONG HEARTS!!: CIMA, T-Hawk, El Lindaman & Duan Yingnan defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Akito, Shunma Katsumata & Yuki Iino when T-Hawk pinned Katsumata with the Night Ride (15:26).
6. Shibuya Stream Hall Opening Memorial! Special 6-Man Tag Match: Daisuke Sasaki, Soma Takao & Tetsuya Endo defeated Danshoku Dieno, Jun Kasai & Makoto Oishi when Sasaki submitted Oishi with the Cross Facelock (13:53).

The first preview battle between Danshoku Dieno and Daisuke Sasaki saw DAMNATION go on top when Sasaki submitted Dieno’s buddy Makoto Oishi. Due to the earlier appearance of STRONG HEARTS on the show, Oishi wanted his team to show everybody what real “STRONG HEARTS” look like. It involved Dieno & Oishi positioning themselves against the turnbuckles with the back of their shorts pulled down. Jun Kasai was supposed to throw his opponents into them but he got thrown headfirst instead. Another key moment of the match saw Sasaki resisting Dieno’s Crotch Grab. However Dieno’s Lip Lock was still effective. Tetsuya Endo wiped out Dieno & Kasai with the Sasuke Special. Sasaki then won the match by trapping Oishi in the Cross Facelock. Sasaki called Dieno a relic of the past and the reason Sasaki was succesful today is because Dieno couldn’t make him erect with his moves. Dieno couldn’t believe it and swore he will get Sasaki erect the next time they fight. Dieno will gradually get Sasaki to a 10 degree angle, then a 20 degree angle and finally a 30 degree angle just like Oishi! According to Dieno, Oishi is always at 30 degrees.

The first meeting between ALL OUT and STRONG HEARTS was a full fledged 4 Vs 4 Tag Match that ended in defeat for the home team. T-Hawk got the win by pinning Shunma Katsumata with the Night Ride. Konosuke Takeshita admitted that STRONG HEARTS brought the heat today and he will use the loss as motivation when he faces CIMA at Sumo Hall. Meanwhile Yuki Iino took offence at El Lindaman sneaking in a low blow by kicking the rope while Iino was climbing into the ring. Lindaman denied any foul play and blamed Iino for getting in the way of the rope like an idiot. T-Hawk asked ALL OUT to bring more heat for their matches in October. Akito marked T-Hawk as his target for the Sumo Hall 6-Man Tag. Maybe under other circumstances they could have gotten along because they have similar hairstyles. Too bad, Akito’s going to hunt him down instead.

HARASHIMA said he had a good time teaming with Daichi Hashimoto today. He thinks it was a waste that they were only teaming for one match. They also enjoyed laughing at Antonio Honda’s jokes during the match so they got to enjoy themselves while they stood on the apron waiting to tag in. Win or lose, Honda will continue to tell vulgar jokes whenever he can.

Maki Itoh is still leading the Dramatic General Election by a wide margin but inside the ring she still can’t get a win. This week she lost to Yuna Manase when she missed the Flying Big Head and got pinned with a Neck Screw Hold. Itoh is feeling no pressure with leading the votes. If she can’t become the Atsuko Maeda of the idol world she can become the Atsuko Maeda of the wrestling world instead.

Nobody is more disappointed in MAO’s injury than Sanshiro Takagi. With his Sumo Hall opponent nowhere to be seen today, Takagi has nobody to take his frustrations out of. Gota Ihashi did his best to fill in for MAO. He wore MAO’s wrestling gear and tried to replicate his moveset to mixed results. Mike Bailey was left confused by the turn of events and tried to convince everyone that Ihashi wasn’t MAO. Even Bailey couldn’t resist stomping on Ihashi after Ihashi lost them the match. Takagi doesn’t care how hurt MAO is, he is only thinking about destroying him at Sumo Hall!

Kazuki Hirata and Nobuhiro Shimatani got into a Hirata GO! dance battle. Hirata got the better of Shimatani and climbed the turnbuckles to finish him off. That was when Toru Owashi tagged himself in and pinned Shimatani with La Magistral Cradle, leaving Hirata standing on the turnbuckles.

Mizuki Watase did well to avoid the Takatonic but Masahiro Takanashi was able to pin him with the Hangover!! with two minutes left on the match clock. The question that needs to be asked now is what should Watase do after the RENEGADES split up?

DDT was treated to a return appearance of Rintaro Oyaizu from The Bachelor Japan. One month ago Oyaizu was on Maji Manji and had his heart captured by Aja Kong. He was invited back by Makoto Oishi to solve a problem within The Compliance. Oishi wants Oyaizu to hold a dinner party where they teach Antonio Honda and Kazusada Higuchi how to be “mote mote”. In other words, how to become popular with the opposite sex. Oyaizu is mote mote. According to Oishi he is also mote mote and his recent marriage is proof of that. Oyaizu revealed he is already helping out a young DDT wrestler with this, Yuki Ueno! Honda & Higuchi were furious and things got heated until Hisaya Imabayashi stepped in. The solution is a 6-Man Tag between the Mote Mote Army and the Not Mote Army on 2nd October. Oishi, Ueno & a Mote Mystery Partner against Higuchi, Honda and a Not Mote Mystery Partner!

5. DDT Nagano Sales Manager Toru Owashi Local Triumph! “Owashi And Funny Friends Part 4” Special 6-Man Tag Match: Toru Owashi, Keisuke Ishii & Antonio Honda defeated Yukio Sakaguchi, Masahiro Takanashi & Kazusada Higuchi when Owashi pinned Takanashi with La Magistral Cradle (11:06).
6. DAMNATION Vs RENEGADES!: Daisuke Sasaki & Tetsuya Endo defeated Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase when Endo submitted Watase with the Modified Yurikamome Hold (18:41).
7. DISASTER BOX Vs ALL OUT!: HARASHIMA, Kazuki Hirata & Yuki Ueno defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Akito & Yuki Iino when Hirata pinned Iino with the Backward Miracle One Shot Cradle (17:33).
Toru Owashi wasn’t certain that Kazuki Hirata got the three count in the main event. HARASHIMA had to tell him when the referee counts to three, it is a three count. Yuki Ueno congratulated Owashi on doing his best as the sales manager for the show today. Hirata got to do his dance and thought the rest of DISASTER BOX joined in behind him. They instead sat down in the corner of the ring and watched him dance on his own.
While his friends congratulated him for his job today, Owashi admitted he is worried that the attendance for DDT’s Nagano shows has been gradually decreasing. He doesn’t know when DDT will return to Nagano but when they do he wants the fans to bring their neighbors, their grandparents and anyone else to the show with them.
Danshoku Dieno wanted to prepare himself for the possibility of fighting DAMNATION on his own so he changed his tag match into a 3 Vs 1 Handicap Match. Sanshiro Takagi, Super Sasadango Machine & Makoto Oishi used some DAMNATION moves on Dieno until Oishi had a change of heart and protected his friend from the attacks. Oishi would never abandon Dieno so the match was changed back to its original tag team bout. Takagi continued acting like a DAMNATION heel and ordered Sasadango to attack the other team with a chair. Sasadango couldn’t do that to his friends so he attacked Takagi instead! The match was changed back to a 3 Vs 1 Handicap but this time Dieno, Oishi & Sasadango was the team and Takagi was on his own. Dieno beat Takagi with the Danshoku Driver then sent a message to Daisuke Sasaki. Dieno said he will pull off the Sumo Hall main event that Sasaki will not. He told Sasaki to keep watching from the shadows.
Hyper Misao used an accidental unmasking to roll Maki Itoh into a School Boy and pin her with her feet on the ropes for leverage. As a form of apology, Misao gave Itoh her vote for the Dramatic General Election. Unfortunately Misao then found out that wrestlers cannot vote for other wrestlers in the contest so her voting ballot was confiscated. The merchandise Misao purchased to get the ballot still stands and she will not be given a refund.

DDT “ROAD TO RYOGOKU 2018 ~DRAMATIC DREAM TAKADORO~”, 16/09/2018
Osaka Suminoe Maiko Hall
306 Fans – Super No Vacancy
1. 3 Way Tag Match: KUDO & Keisuke Ishii defeated Soma Takao & Nobuhiro Shimatani and MAO & Kazusada Higuchi when Ishii pinned Shimatani with a Running Knee Attack (8:39).
2. Antonio Honda & Makoto Oishi defeated Yuni & Yuki Iino when Honda pinned Iino with a Jackknife Pin (9:15).
3. Two Big Single Match! ~Minami~: Toru Owashi, Super Sasadango Machine & Yukinori Matsui defeated Daisuke Kiso by Disqualification (6:21).
4. Sanshiro Takagi & Hiroaki Moriya defeated Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi when Takagi pinned Takanashi with the Sit Down Himawari Bomb (7:50).
5. Two Big Single Match! ~Kita~: Jun Kasai defeated Yuki Ueno with the Pearl Harbor Splash (12:12).
6. Battle In The Big Ring Of Naniwa! Osaka Specialty 6-Man Tag Match: Daisuke Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie defeated Meiko Satomura, HARASHIMA & Kazuki Hirata when Sasaki submitted Hirata with the Cross Facelock (15:36).
7. RENEGADES Vs ALL OUT!: Konosuke Takeshita & Akito defeated Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase when Takeshita pinned Watase with the Surprise Rose (16:49).
Konosuke Takeshita was motivated to have a good performance today to make up for missing the previous DDT show in Osaka because of his injury. His healed shoulder was turned into a target by RENEGADES. Both Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase did what they could to try and destroy Takeshita’s shoulder. But Takeshita escaped from danger and pinned Watase with the Surprise Rose to give himself & Akito the victory. After the match Takeshita said that Osaka will always flow in his blood. He was born in Suminoe, lived there until he was three years old and lived in Osaka until he turned 18. His goal is to bring DDT to bigger buildings in Osaka!
A fight broke out after Match #6 when Daisuke Sasaki tried to steal the KO-D Openweight Title while the rest of DAMNATION blocked off Meiko Satomura. The champion got her way past them and struck Sasaki with an Elbow Smash. Sasaki gave the belt back while HARASHIMA tried to calm Satomura down.
Jun Kasai beat Yuki Ueno up a bit but the youngster earned his respect. Kasai mentioned after the match he could still see life and cockiness in Ueno’s eyes. He told Ueno they can fight again any time and he wanted to shake his hand. Ueno instead gave him both middle fingers. Kasai was left wondering what kind of education does DDT put its young wrestlers through? He also tried to sneak in a call for election votes before Hisaya Imabayashi could cut him off.
Sanshiro Takagi asked Hiroaki Moriya to get involved with the ALL DOIN match later this month. Unfortunately a scheduling conflict prevents Moriya from joining in. He promised to work with Takagi again the next time DDT comes to Suminoe.
There was no video equipment set up in the venue so Super Sasadango Machine posted today’s PowerPoint presentation to Twitter for everyone to see. Sasadango worked out that Toru Owashi has a better win-loss record as a comedy wrestler than as a serious wrestler. So Sasadango’s plan today had three steps involved. 1) Anger Owashi by encouraging the audience to boo him. 2) Have Sasadango switch places with Hisaya Imabayashi in a Sasadango disguise so he could ambush Owashi, making him even more mad. 3) Trick the angered Owashi into attacking the referee. Owashi did indeed hit Daisuke Kiso with a Lariat by accident. Yukinori Matsui came into the ring and Owashi pleaded innocence until Kiso got up and gave both of them a Headlock/Headscissors combo. Somehow, Matsui declared that was illegal and disqualified Kiso! Sasadango, Owashi and Matsui were then declared the winners.

DDT “CAMPSITE PRO WRESTLING 2018 ~ HISTORY’S STRONGEST 40,000 TATAMI MOVEMENT DRAMATIC DREAM NATURE LAND TWINS AND THEIR YOUNGER BROTHER~”, 02/09/2018
Yamanashi Natureland Om
200 Fans – Super No Vacancy Full House
1. Falls Count Anywhere 6 Way Tag Match: Brahman Shu & Brahman Kei defeated Mike Bailey & MAO, HARASHIMA & Yuki Ueno, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie, Sanshiro Takagi & Michael Nakazawa and Isami Kodaka & Fuminori Abe when Shu pinned Bailey with the Zombie King on top of a car (87:03).

With summer coming to an end, DDT found the time to go camping at Yamanashi Natureland Om, the home of their Campsite Pro Wrestling matches. This time six teams of two would face off an cause havoc out in the woods. The action was followed by Hisaya Imabayashi, Haruo Murata and Konosuke Takeshita on commentary as they tried to catch up with all of the chaos.

Sanshiro Takagi & Michael Nakazawa arrived wearing Gundam costumes. Isami Kodaka & Fuminori Abe drove into the starting area on a scooter. The Brahman Brothers were the first to create trouble when they threw buckets of water and dirt at everyone.

The match began at the plaza and quickly found its way along the river. HARASHIMA and Kodaka fought their way towards a small waterfall and they were almost pushed off the edge. They avoided it and instead HARASHIMA suplexed Kodaka down a hill.

The Brahmans found a nearby restroom and pushed Nakazawa’s head into a toilet. They then brought Takagi towards an electric fence. Takagi was pushed into the fence and “explosions” were set off from the currents flowing through Takagi’s body.

Down at the bottom of the hill everybody found an unexpected figure. It was Yumehito Imanari acting like he was in the movie Commando. HARASHIMA disarmed Imanari and the wrestlers all forced him to flee the scene.

The match found its way to a hut where MAO and Yuki Ueno climbed up to the roof so they could attack everybody with water guns. The Brahmans got the upper hand and lined up along chain of wrestlers for their bowling ball spot. The word “Strike!” echoed throughout the area after they threw the ball. They then tried to shove a wooden stake up Nakazawa’s backside.

Kodaka & Abe returned to the plaza on their scooter and drove into Nakazawa. The Brahmans found a tent and set it on fire. It turned out the tent was being used by Ryan Davidson and he was pissed! Davidson went on a rampage attacking everybody. Mike Bailey & MAO stopped him and took him out with a Double Standing Moonsault on the remains of the tent.

Takagi found a can of mousse so he sprayed a lump of it onto his hands and set it on fire. He went to slap his target but missed and hit Nakazawa by accident.

The Brahmans were being so mean to people that they made a kid cry. HARASHIMA helped the kid kick them in the head for payback.

The match went on the move again and found its way to one of the highest points of the campsite. There they found the Sumo God Kazusada Higuchi accompanied by Nobuhiro Shimatani. Higuchi challenged everyone to beat him in a game of sumo and he defeated them all.

A frightful discovery was made nearby. The dead body of Makoto Oishi was found with his head next to a rock covered in his blood. Curiously, there was a blood stain next to his hand that looked like the letter M. Everyone assumed it was Michael Nakazawa until they saw both MAO and Yuki Ueno were covered in blood. HARASHIMA attacked them because they wouldn’t apologise for accidentally killing Oishi. Bailey & MAO both moonsaulted off of a shed while Abe prayed for Oishi.

The action went back to the plaza where everyone saw Ryan Davidson unconscious on the ground. They all thought he died too but he woke up and was again pissed off. This time Davidson picked up a log and placed it over his shoulders. He spun around hitting anyone who approached him. Higuchi reappeared and challenged Davidson to some sumo wrestling.

There was a chain of Headscissors…

… Mad Paulie then turned it into one long Crab Hold.

Commando Imanari returned and took several people hostage in a nearby hut. Nakazawa, Shimatani and a Samurai! TV cameraman were all being held by him. Takagi rallied the other wrestlers to hold the hut under siege by shooting fireworks into it! The Brahmans joined in by throwing eggs at the hut. Nakazawa was freed but when he left the hut he suffered an Anal Explosion from a firecracker that was placed inside his tights!

A pile of wood was collected and made into a campfire. Takagi emerged riding the Dramatic Dream Cycle but crashed into the fire when everyone dodged him.

Everyone fought into a nearby pond and one by one the wrestlers did their trademark moves into the water. Tetsuya Endo was the last to jump with a Tornillo onto everybody.

The feud between Takagi and MAO then took to a new level never seen before in DDT. Takagi found a car and tried to run over MAO. In return MAO found another car and the two drove around trying to hit each other! MAO’s car stalled and that allowed Takagi to drive into him from the side! Takagi pulled MAO out of the car and gave him a Spiccoli Driver onto the bonnet. Endo placed Ueno on the hood of one of the cars and Paulie flattened Ueno with a Splash onto the hood.

Kodaka & Abe found pick axes and decided to relive the bonus stage of Street Fighter II. Everyone liked the idea and joined in trying to destroy the cars with their wrestling moves!

The Brahmans remembered there was a wrestling match going on so they attacked Bailey with a stop sign and threw a bucket of ink at him. Brahman Shu then gave Bailey the Zombie King onto the roof of the car and pinned him for the three count.

When the dust was settled Brahman Shu & Brahman Kei had a realisation. They are a tag team. Bailey & MAO are the KO-D Tag Team Champions. They should have do title match! MAO agreed then collapsed from exhaustion. Imabayashi announced the match will take place on the 23rd September Korakuen Hall show. Sanshiro Takagi then demanded a match with MAO. For months they have tried to kill each other by crazier and crazier methods. This grudge needs to be settled at Sumo Hall on 21st October in a Weapon Rumble! MAO accepted the match because the Weapon Rumble is the reason he became a pro wrestler in the first place. It must be fate that their final battle will be in that match. Takagi told him he would be bringing his car to Sumo Hall. Everybody then celebrated the end of today’s match by continuing to destroy the two cars.

DDT “BLACK OUT PRESENTS KING OF DDT 2018 FINAL ROUND”, 26/08/2018
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

0. Under Match: Kouki Iwasaki defeated Nobuhiro Shimatani with a Crab Hold (8:09).
1. T2Hide Goodbye Series Final Match ~ Lucha Libre Rules: Sanshiro Takagi, Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata defeated Akito, Yuki Iino, Gorgeous Matsuno & Saki Akai when Hirata pinned Iino with the Miracle One Shot Cradle (10:01).
2. King Of DDT 2018 – Semi Final: Tetsuya Endo defeated MAO with a Modified Yurikamome Hold (9:45).
3. King Of DDT 2018 – Semi Final: Daisuke Sasaki defeated HARASHIMA with a Crucifix Pin (10:20).
4. No Touch 4 Way Tag Match: Soma Takao & Mad Paulie defeated Brahman Shu & Brahman Kei, KUDO & Masahiro Takanashi and Keisuke Ishii & Mike Bailey when Takao pinned Takanashi with the Gin And Tonic (6:46).
5. Danshoku Dieno, Makoto Oishi & Super Sasadango Machine defeated Shigehiro Irie, Jason Kincaid & Mizuki Watase when Dieno submitted Watase with the Meiko Killer II/Homo Naciente (4:47).
6. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Tatsumi Fujinami, Antonio Honda & Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Kazusada Higuchi, Gota Ihashi & Yuki Ueno when Fujinami submitted Ihashi with the Dragon Sleeper (9:39).
7. King Of DDT 2018 – Final: Daisuke Sasaki defeated Tetsuya Endo with the Crossover Facelock (21:36).

Daisuke Sasaki is the winner of King Of DDT 2018! For the last three years DAMNATION has dominated the tournament and this year was the exclamation point because both Sasaki and last year’s winner Tetsuya Endo reached the final. Sasaki ordered Endo to lay down and take an easy pin at the beginning of the final but Endo kicked out at two and tried to steal the win from his leader. From there both men fought each other with the truest of intentions to win. Endo used the Yurikamome Hold that got him past the semi-final earlier but Sasaki reached the ropes. Endo surprised everyone by countering the Crossface into a Paulie Buster! Sasaki took everything that Endo could throw at him and wouldn’t be beaten. He blocked the Tetsuya In The Sky With Diamonds and on the turnbuckles and turned the move into an Avalanche Pedigree! From there, Sasaki locked in the Crossover Facelock and made Endo submit.

Sasaki’s prize is 1,000,000 yen and a year’s worth of BLACK OUT energy drink. More importantly than that he now gets the main even KO-D Openweight Title match at “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2018”! Sasaki called Endo strong then asked him who is stronger? Endo admitted it’s Daisuke Sasaki. With the next KO-D Title match taking place on Tuesday, Sasaki said he doesn’t care if the champion is Danshoku Dieno or Meiko Satomura. He will take the championship from either of them at Sumo Hall! When Sasaki was done speaking, Nobuhiro Shimatani excitedly tried to rally the fans to support the 2018 King Of DDT, “Charisma” Daisuke Sasaki! He was then cut off with a Low Blow by Sasaki. When Sasaki wins the KO-D Title, he will not be crying like other people because he will always be angry. 2016. 2017. 2018. DAMNATION will always be on top!

Sasaki’s path to the final saw him overcome HARASHIMA in the semi-final by the skin of his teeth. He countered a Cross Armbreaker into a Crucifix Pin to steal the win away from HARASHIMA. Disappointed by the result, HARASHIMA assured himself that he will get a chance to become KO-D Champion again some day, it just won’t be at Sumo Hall in October.

Endo had to get past MAO in his semi-final and almost made a quick job of it when he hit the Tetsuya In The Sky early. Endo avoided the Cannonball 450 and rolled a Hurricanrana into the Yurikamome Hold to make MAO give up. For MAO the defeat gives him something to think about. He never thought he would lose to the man he pinned to win the KO-D Tag Team Titles a month ago.

The return of Tatsumi Fujinami to DDT turned out to be a big occasion for a few people. Yuki Ueno debuted new white gear with the words “Deltoid Biceps” on the front of the trunks and “Latissimus Dorsi Muscle” on the back. Gota Ihashi also got to step in the ring against one of the greats and prove he is worthy of being a pro wrestler. Although Fujinami defeated him, Fujinami liked what he saw. Fujinami then made a big promise for Ihashi. Next time he will bring Riki Choshu to him! In a backstage interview after the match Fujinami found it funny that he got to team with an Antonio and a Sakaguchi again. Antonio Honda even did the Enzuigiri as part of the finish.

Dieno came up with a sneaky tactic to get his team the win over RENEGADES. Dieno and Super Sasadango Machine switched costumes before the match with Sasadango using a towel to cover his head until the disguises were blown. Still, Dieno used the F5 on Jason Kincaid and then put Mizuki Watase in the Sol Naciente to make him submit. Normally Dieno would name that move the Homo Naciente but with his KO-D Title defence against Meiko Satomura coming up on Tuesday he’s calling it the Meiko Killer II! He now has two Meiko Killer moves with one more being kept secret.

After the match Shigehiro Irie grabbed the microphone and demanded Dieno’s attention. Irie isn’t worrying about regaining the KO-D Title for now. Instead he just wants a singles match with Dieno. Unfortunately for him Dieno had a surprise announcement to make. He resigned as DDT Producer yesterday. Now that he is KO-D Champion and has a spot in the Sumo Hall main event he no longer needs the Producer role. He can’t have a singles match with Irie because he no longer has the power to book it! A furious Irie hit Dieno with the Beast Bomber and then destroyed his shoulder with the Pentagon Jr. Armbreaker. Irie ranted backstage that he will kill Dieno!

Match #4 was a mess thanks to the Brahman Brothers. They threw eggs and buckets of water at everyone. Mike Bailey wore one of the buckets over his head and took over the Brahman’s usual bowling ball suitcase spot. Gorgeous Matsuno got involved in the match to help the Brahmans but got accidentally blinded by their ink spray. Mad Paulie took the ink and sprayed it in Masahiro Takanashi’s face so Soma Takao could win with the Gin And Tonic.

It’s back to business as usual for Kazuki Hirata. His dance entrance was stopped by everyone else in the match attacking him. Then all of the ringside attendants attacked him. Then all of the DDT staff attacked him. Then the Don Quijote mascot who was there for sponsorship reasons waddled into the ring and attacked him. Later in the match Gorgeous Matsuno tried to sing until Akito Suplexed him mid-song. Everybody put on Hirata GO! glasses and started dancing until Matsuno sang again. Hirata then pinned Yuki Iino to end the match. Since today was T2Hide’s final match together, Hirata asked Sanshiro Takagi and Toru Owashi to dance with him one last time. The music began and Hirata danced while Takagi & Owashi both broke down into tears, hugged each other and left the ring ignoring Hirata.

Kouki Iwasaki survived the Standing Shooting Stars from Nobuhiro Shimatani to submit him with a Crab Hold.

The show began with big news that Jun Kasai will become a regular part of DDT shows beginning on 4th September! His first major match of this tenure will be on 23rd September at Korakuen Hall when Kasai teams up with Sabu and a mystery partner to face ALL OUT. Kasai wants to show DDT fans things they have never seen before. He also realises he will be a part of Konosuke Takeshita’s first match back from injury and warns that Takeshita might break again when they fight each other. Kasai finished the announcement by declaring his entry into the Dramatic General Election.

A big match was announced for “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2018”. I mean literally because the match is Super Sasadango Machine Vs Andreza Giant Panda! Sasadango informed everyone that this panda eats 40kg of bamboo a day and it puts bamboo at risk of becoming endangered. He promises to crush Andreza when they clash!

5. RENEGADES Vs DAMNATION!: Shigehiro Irie & Jason Kincaid defeated Shuji Ishikawa & Mad Paulie when Irie pinned Paulie with the Beast Bomber (19:20).
6. KO-D Openweight Title: Danshoku Dieno defeated Shigehiro Irie (c) with the Gaydo Clutch (1:37).
*Super Sasadango Machine gives his Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract to Danshoku Dieno. Shigehiro Irie fails in V1. Danshoku Dieno cashes in his Right To Challenge Gauntlet. Danshoku Dieno becomes the 65th KO-D Openweight Champion!

Today’s episode sparked plenty of changes in the DDT landscape. There was the planned roster switch-up freshening up some of the units but some added surprises completely changed the course of as we head towards the King Of DDT finale. Things seemed normal during the main event. Shigehiro Irie made his first appearance in DDT since his latest US tour and after the title loss incident in Ohio he had the KO-D Openweight Title with him safe and sound. He and Jason Kincaid were victorious over Shuji Ishikawa & Mad Paulie but it was a close call. Irie kicked out of a Double Choke Slam and the Reverse Splash. It was only when he hit a desperate Beast Bomber to Paulie that he was able to win the match. Ishikawa said he got to have a strong match after spending time away from DDT. He told everyone when he is the Triple Crown Champion he would like to face Irie again.

When DAMNATION left the ring, Meiko Satomura came out with her eyes set on Irie. With the yellow Right To Challenge Gauntlet in her possession, Satomura challenged Irie to a title match on the 28th August episode of “DDT LIVE! MAJI MANJI”! An exhausted Irie got up and accepted the challenge. But when they were about to shake hands, Danshoku Dieno interrupted them with important news. Producer Dieno will not accept Irie Vs Satomura as the next KO-D Title match because the next title match will happen right now! Dieno then suddenly pulled out the blue Gauntlet belonging to Super Sasadango Machine. A video played on the screen of Sasadango announcing that he is giving his Gauntlet to Dieno as a gift. It now belongs to Dieno and he is cashing it in straight away!

The match began and Dieno immediately gave Irie the Danshoku Driver several times. Irie kicked out of them and fought back. He hit the Beast Bomber but when Irie went for the pin, Dieno caught him in the Gaydo Clutch and pinned him! Danshoku Dieno is the new KO-D Champion! A furious Irie had to be held back by the rest of RENEGADES until they finally got him to leave the ring. He still tossed a chair from the front row at Dieno as he was leaving. Dieno taunted Irie by telling him what he did today was all in the rules. Dieno waited so long and played the good boss all this time so he could pull this off. This plan was why Dieno did not enter King Of DDT this year. He may be the weakest champion of any wrestling company right now but that doesn’t matter. He is going straight to the main event of “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2018” as the champion! Just one problem. Meiko Satomura is still here with the last Right To Challenge Gauntlet (more about that below) and her intention to challenge the champion on 28th August still stands. She told Dieno she will win the KO-D Title, defend it against Irie and then defend it at the main event of Sumo Hall!

The DNA Draft and resulting roster reshuffle took place at the start of the episode. It was already decided that Daiki Shimomura would join BASARA and Kouki Iwasaki would join Ganbare☆Wrestling. Rekka also announced he will be leaving Japan for a while so he will not be transferring to another brand. The remaining DNA wrestlers were given the chance to nominate the group or unit they wished to join and it would be up to those groups to accept them or not. Some of the obvious moves were made first. Mizuki Watase chose RENEGADES (side note: Ryan Davidson has also joined the unit) and Shunma Katsumata picked ALL OUT. No surprises there. MAO wants to continue teaming with Mike Bailey so he picked the default DDT Sekigun group. Yuki Ueno also picked DDT. Naomi Yoshimura didn’t pick anybody. Instead he will go wherever he wants, whenever he wants. Konosuke Takeshita of all people asked him to join ALL OUT instead. Yoshimura declined because he has no motivation to fight with them. He’d rather fight against them. Yuki Iino asked if he could join ALL OUT. Akito wasn’t convinced so he would use their match later as an audition. Kota Umeda chose to stick with DDT. He will be on the same side as his old unit Shuten-dōji and he wants to set a fire under his former older brothers. Nobuhiro Shimatani declared himself the leader of DAMNATION but Daisuke Sasaki said the unit doesn’t need him. Shimatani then nominated Tokyo Joshi Pro but their producer Tetsuya Koda outright refused him. Shimatani went back to DAMNATION and promised to find a beautiful blonde woman for Sasaki, cook delicious meat for Mad Paulie, handcraft a new ring costume for Soma Takao, give Tetsuya Endo a better haircut than the one he currently has and teach new songs to Shuji Ishikawa. Sasaki finally gave in and inducted Shimatani into DAMNATION, but only as a temporary manager. Good enough!

In the middle of the draft, T2Hide announced they are splitting up. Kazuki Hirata is doing well without them although he protested the decision. HARASHIMA approached Toru Owashi and asked him to reform Disaster BOX, their old unit from the 2000s. Owashi liked the idea but they needed a third member to make them a unit. They nominated Yuki Ueno. He has no idea what Disaster BOX is or how important they are in DDT’s history but ok, he’ll join them instead of the default DDT side.

Now all of that craziness has been touched upon, let’s get into the rest of the show. The eight remaining King Of DDT participants met in an 4-Way Tag Match. Some of the pairings were unusual and led to a mix up. MAO & Mike Bailey were on two different teams but in the heat of the action they worked together to wipe out a few of the other wrestlers with a Double Moonsault to the outside. Kazuki Hirata tried to continue his miracle run by going straight at Tetsuya Endo with Cradles but in the end he was pinned by Endo with a Swan Dive 450 Splash. Despite winning the match, Endo says he does not feel any momentum from today’s result. That stuff means nothing when you’re only in the Quarter Finals.

Judging from his earlier performance on the episode you wouldn’t have thought Dieno would end up as champion by the end of it. He got into his usual shenanigans with Antonio Honda against KUDO & Masahiro Takanashi. Honda’s double Gongistune backfired when KUDO & Takanashi grabbed both of his hands and made Honda poke himself in both eyes. They then finised him off with the Takatonic followed by the Diving Double Knee Drop.

It turns out the Right To Challenge Gauntlet rules do apply overseas. Meiko Satomura apologised to the fans for losing the red Gauntlet during her recent visit to America for the Mae Young Classic. I’d go into more detail about the possible consequences for that but it veers into spoiler territory and I’m not in the mood to get into arguments about that right now. To make up for it Satomura made it her goal today to win another Gauntlet so she can challenge for the KO-D Title. Good thing she was in a match against the holder of the yellow Gauntlet Makoto Oishi. Satomura pinned Oishi with the Scorpio Rising and now holds the last remaining Right To Challenge Gauntlet in Japan. Before this match Sanshiro Takagi said if his team won then he would set up the Meiko Young Classic, a tournament for all women wrestlers over the age of 40. Meiko Satomura is 38.

Iino impressed ALL OUT enough in his match to be accepted into their unit. He hit Akito with the Spear but Akito grabbed onto Iino’s leg and pulled him down into a Leg Lock to make him submit.

There was an extra special guest appearing on the show this week. Rintaro Oyaizu from Season 2 of The Bachelor Japan greeted everyone and very quickly attracted attention from several wrestlers. Cherry, Yuna Manase, Yuki Kamifuku and Maki Itoh all entered the ring wanting to woo Oyaizu. They all agreed to fight each other in a 4 Way Match on 28th August with the winner getting a date with The Bachelor.

6. DNA End Of A Chapter 2014.11.28 – 2018.8.10: Kota Umeda & Ryota Nakatsu defeated Shunma Katsumata & Kazusada Higuchi when Umeda pinned Katsumata with the Umeda Driver (17:10).
For three years and eight months DNA has provided a home for DDT’s new wrestlers to grow and develop their skills. With the overall quality of the roster becoming higher than expected along with a current shortage of trainees available the decision was made to put the DNA brand on hiatus until the next generation of DDT wrestlers appear. This is being treated as the end of Chapter 3 for DNA. Everyone who appeared on the show today promised to perform to their fullest.
After the main event, Kota Umeda invited all of the DNA wrestlers into the ring to give each of them their final words. Nobuhiro Shimatani said he became the man he is today because of DNA. Daiki Shimomura wished everyone luck in the future. Yuki Iino said he was the last to enter DNA. Rekka said he was glad to come to Tokyo and join DDT. Mizuki Watase said DNA turned him from a performer into a professional wrestler. MAO told everyone he won his first match in DNA against Shunma Katsumata. Ever since then he made it his goal to never lose against Katsumata. He will try not to forget the feelings he experienced in DNA. Kouki Iwasaki only has frustrating memories in DNA so he wants to move on and reach the next level. Yuki Ueno says he made wonderful memories from the DNA Grand Prix which is where he made his debut. Naomi Yoshimura was the only person not crying over the end. He told everyone that as long as he continues to wrestle and everyone else continues to wrestle, they should stay dignified. Katsumata thanked everyone including Ryota Nakatsu for coming back, Higuchi for being his rival since the start and Yoshimura for making DNA exciting when times were tough. Umeda was the last to speak and he said everybody is thinking of various ways to advance their careers. When they all become bigger and DDT introduces new blood, DNA will come back for Chapter 4.

5. Bonus Track: Akito, Shunma Katsumata & Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Nobuhiro Shimatani, Yuki Ueno & Yuki Iino when Katsumata pinned Iino with a Diving Foot Stomp (3:38).

Today was ALL OUT’s turn to have a go at Beer Garden. At this point in the week a few wrestlers have gotten more than their fill of alcohol. They all wanted Shunma Katsumata to drink with them after the main event. Yukio Sakaguchi stepped in and told everyone it was not good for Katsumata’s health to be forced into drinking alcohol. Nobuhiro Shimatani, Yuki Ueno & Yuki Iino all decided to attack Sakaguchi, Akito & Katsumata causing an impromptu match to close out the show. Sakaguchi used Kuishinbo Kamen’s top as a cape to lure Iino into a bullfight. Iino crashed into the turnbuckles. Akito put Iino into a choke and positioned him for Katsumata to hit the Diving Foot Stomp for the win. Konosuke Takeshita joined the rest of ALL OUT to celebrate with one more drink.

Katsumata’s scheduled match was a Fans Bring The Weapons Death Match against Violento Jack. There were already tables, ladders and barbed wire boards placed in the ring but the wrestlers also got different items from the audience to use on each other. The match found its way over to the counters and Jack gave Katsumata a Package Piledriver through a board with empty cans attached to it. After the match Jack said he will never forget Katsumata’s name after today and he appreciated his hard work. Looks like Katsumata has made a new amigo and he is scary as hell!

Akito and Isami Kodaka spent 20 minutes of grappling back and forth without a winner determined. Before the match began Kodaka went around having a beer bash like Stone Cold Steve Austin. Meanwhile Akito decided to wrestle barefoot. In the final minutes both of them tried to find transitions out of a Headlock to get a flash pin but the time ran out without anybody getting pinned. Kodaka told Akito he doesn’t want to wrestle against him much because the fatigue he gets from it is unlike any other time he wrestles. However he noticed that Akito is still in the King Of DDT tournament. If Akito can win it and become the KO-D Openweight Champion then maybe the next time they fight they will both be standing at the top of DDT!

Nobody told Kuishinbo Kamen about Takeshita’s injury. Also nobody told him that Sakaguchi was his new opponent. He was so surprised when he stood across a large scary man in the ring today. He didn’t want to fight Sakaguchi so he instead took out a picture book to read. Sakaguchi took the book and wanted to fight. Kamen agreed to have a match made up of three rounds, two minutes each. Kamen convinced Sakaguchi to do his comedy spots with like the pose, the hop and the Low Blows. Sakaguchi knocked down Kamen with a High Kick but Yukinori Matsui was recovering from the Low Blow. Takeshita got into the ring and everybody gave each other Leg Kicks. Kamen but Sakaguchi in a Leglock that had no effect. Sakaguchi reversed the move and Kamen immediately tapped out. Sakaguchi felt so bad about making Kamen upset after the match that he gave him back his book and asked him to read it to everyone. Takeshita brought out a large version of the book for the audience to see and everyone had a fun time reading it.

Plans for Tomomitsu Matsunaga’s opening match were changed when most of the participants were declared too drunk to wrestle. The match became KUDO Vs Yuki Ueno in a Lumberjack match where the Lumberjacks forced anyone thrown out of the ring to drink more alcohol. The match reached its most obvious conclusion when both KUDO and Ueno got too drunk to wrestle. The solution to this problem was to determine the winner with a game of Finger Sumo. While that went on the other wrestlers found new drinking games to pass the time. They did a lottery where fans pulled out names. They then brought out a dartboard with everyone’s name on it and got Yuni (how was he allowed in here?) to throw a dart and pick the next drinker. Ishii’s name was far larger than anyone else’s. Back at the Finger Sumo, the theme song to “Over The Top” played. KUDO tried to put Ueno in a Cross Armbreaker position but Ueno outmanoeuvred him and pinned down KUDO’s thumb for the three count.

The wrestlers also drank during Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi’s public yoga session. I think they may have a problem.

6. The Usual Sandman-like Match: Ken Ohka defeated Yuki Ueno, Danshoku Dieno, Mike Bailey, Jason Kincaid, Facade, Antonio Honda, Chinsuke Nakamura, Muscle Sakai, Keisuke Ishii, Tomomitsu Matsunaga, Yasu Urano, Yumehito Imanari, Shota, Choun-Shiryu, DJ Nira, MAO, Sumo Rock, Rekka, DT-YUTA and Nonoko when Ohka pinned Ueno with the Fire Spear (16:42).

A recurring theme of the show involved Ken Ohka trying to convince Yuki Ueno that he is a good wrestler. It wasn’t until the end of the main event when Ohka finally got his message across to the rookie. It was a free for all set to the “Enter Sandman” song and everyone was encouraged to drink and throw beer everywhere as if they were all The Sandman. Some of the unexpected people showing up included Mike Bailey, MAO, DT-YUTA, Nonoko, Chinsuke Nakamura (carrying a homemade US Title belt) and Sumo Rock (Kazusada Higuchi imitating The Rock). The ring eventually filled up with empty beer cans and Ohka fought his battle with Ueno while everyone else was outside. Ueno hit Ohka with the Fire Spear for a nearfall. In return Ohka gave Ueno an Avalanche Brainbuster onto the cans then hit the genuine Fire Spear to win the match. When the dust was settled, Ueno told Ohka he still thinks Ohka isn’t physically powerful or mentally serious but Ohka did win the match today thanks to the crowd’s support. Ohka really is a strong wrestler and Ueno will make it his goal to surpass him!

Super Sasadango Machine did not make an appearance on the show. Instead his former alter ego Muscle Sasaki made a return. He held a secret dark PowerPoint Presentation that was only to be seen by the people in attendance. Afterwards the Muscle Producer Amon Tsurumi was invited to come out. Hisaya Imabayashi appeared and said he too busy preparing for his match before the show so he wasn’t going to be Tsurumi today. Instead the role of Tsurumi was played by Konosuke Takeshita!

Tsurumi/Takeshita revealed that if Muscle can draw 4,000 people to Sumo Hall next February then he believes it will attract the attention of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games Creative Team. It is Tsurumi’s dream to join that team. The other wrestlers asked how can they achieve the goal of 4,000 fans. Yasu Urano suggested that only pure wrestling will work but everybody in Muscle are middle-aged and not pure wrestlers. Tsurumi/Takeshita revealed his secret plan. They need a big guest to appear on the show. They need… Pikotaro! Yes, the man behind “Pen Pineapple Apple Pen” is just the man they need. Unfortunately booking him is impossible so they’ll have to make do with an impersonator.

Actor and former Muscle wrestler Kazuyoshi Sakai came out dressed as Pikotaro. Tsurumi/Takeshita challenged the wrestlers to face him in a 60 second match. If they can win they will be given 10,000,000 yen! A bunch of wrestlers all tried to chase down Sakai and pin him but he survived the time limit every time. Soon a second Pikotaro appeared and it was Hisaya Imabayashi! The two impersonators agreed to team up and face the final participants, Muscle Sakai and Antonio Honda. When the two sides fought, one more Pikotaro appeared. This time it was Kazusada Higuchi! He stabbed both Sakai and Honda in the head with his Pen And Anton Muscle Pens, allowing the other Pikotaros to win the match.

As already mentioned above, Ueno wasn’t convinced that Ohka is a big deal in wrestling. Danshoku Dieno asked Ueno to watch Ohka fight against DJ Nira so he could change his mind. It was a bad match because Nira was so weak that he couldn’t put up a fight. When Ohka gave him a Snapmare into a rest hold he decided to let it go because it wasn’t worth it. Ohka apologised to everyone and left the ring. Daisuke Kiso didn’t know what was going on so he called off the match.

The Lariat Pro Wrestling match featured the theme songs of many famous Lariat users. The order of songs started off with “Power Hall”, “Sunrise” and “J”. Things then went in a different direction when “Crash” played and everyone performed Kenka Kicks. Then the music changed to “SAMURAI” and everybody did Hip Attacks. Next up was “Beautiful Flight” which made everyone do Leg Lariats. At this point everybody realised they were no longer doing Lariats so they asked for a song to get them back in track. “RAIN MAKER” came on. Suddenly Yukinori Matsui was overwhelmed with enough power to gave the Rainmaker to Keisuke Ishii! He did the post but Ishii got back up and he German Suplexed Matsui. “Miserarete” was the final song to play but at this point everybody was too hurt to continue. Ishii decided to change the rule and made it so the next person to hit a Lariat would win the match for their team. Antonio Honda rallied everyone as he prepared to do the move but he stopped and told a Gongitsune story instead. He poked everybody in the eye and eventually hit Yumehito Imanari with a Lariat to bring the match to an end.

The two authority figures in the DDT family were scheduled to fight each other in the pre-show. However both Hisaya Imabayashi and Tetsuya Koda agreed that they had no reason to do so. Neither were motivated by any dislike of the other so they had to come up with something to add some heat to the match. Imabayashi brought up how their match last year was watched by his two sons on DDT UNIVERSE. They cheered him on until he lost. That made his younger son cry. It also made his older son think he is weak ever since. Imabayashi should win so he can regain his son’s respect. He then brought up Koda’s favourite idol Maria Makino. That set off Koda and the two argued enough that they now had a reason to fight. Imabayashi hit the Backblow because it is the finishing move of his kayfabe uncle Goro Tsurumi. Koda survived it and put Imabayashi in a Katahajime to make him give up. After the match Imabayashi got a phone call from his older son. He said his dad sucks and he shouldn’t come home. He then hung up.

7. DNA Naniwa Summit Decisive Battle!: Naomi Yoshimura defeated Yuki Ueno with the Throwaway Power Bomb (22:36).
On the penultimate DNA show, Naomi Yoshimura gave a heartfelt speech after the main event. Being from Osaka himself, Yoshimura wanted many people to come see DNA in this area for the final time today. He and Yuki Ueno have had many matches against each other. Today he could feel Ueno’s momentum as they wrestled and normally that would be deserving of a handshake so they could reconcile their differences. Maybe this rivalry deserves a happy ending because Ueno and also Kota Umeda will soon be moving up to DDT. Yoshimura has also decided his future path. As long as Yoshimura wrestles he cannot lose! With a rebellious heart on his side Yoshimura will never lose again! Today is Yoshimura’s happy ending!
The match between Irie-gun and Naomi Kingdom turned into a ringside brawl with wrestlers getting throw into the seats on two sides of the room. Keisuke Okuda countered Mizuki Watase’s Back Drop into a Sleeper Hold. Okuda then wrapped his legs around Watase to leave him helpless until the referee called for the bell. Another brawl broke out after the match which led to Shigehiro Irie chasing Okuda & Akira Jo out of the ring.
A knee injury prevented Kota Umeda from wrestling on the show so Ryota Nakatsu from BASARA was brought in as his replacement. Nakatsu took on Sammy Guevara in a bout that was too close to call. Neither could get the win by the time the time limit expired. Nakatsu thanked Guevara for the match and promoted BASARA’s show at Osaka Okinawa Hall on 22nd July. He forgot to bring tickets so he advised everyone to go buy them at the nearest convenience store so his employers won’t get angry at him.
A missed Spear from Yuki Iino accidentally hit Konosuke Takeshita instead of MAO. From there Iino was outnumbered and taken down by a Missile Dropkick from Rising HAYATO. MAO then hit the Cannonball 450 for the win.
