??? Fans

1. Special Single Match: The Invisible Man defeated Chris Brookes with a Frankensteiner (9:30).
2. Special Single Match: Masahiro Takanashi defeated Ram Kaichow with a Title Belt Attack (8:32).
3. Special Single Match: Mecha MAO (w/ Mad Dr. Ueki) Vs Takagi Sanshirobo (w/ Mad Dr. Hige) ended in a No Contest (11:52).
4. Special Single Match: Mr. Bueno defeated Antonio Honda with the Bueno Splash (15:58).

Slowly but surely Baka Gaijin + Friends have been growing a cast of characters you will rarely see anywhere else. The main event was the first appearance anywhere of a mariachi masked luchador named Mr. Bueno. His match against Antonio Honda had some serious background behind it. According to Mr. HAKU on commentary, Bueno’s parents were stung to death by bees so he has a hatred of hone. Honda really likes honey though which is where the conflict between them comes from. Bueno was able to hold back his anger and wrestle Honda like a gentleman. Both kept apologising to the fans they bumped into while fighting in the small venue. Bueno was able to beat Honda by climbing the bar counter and hitting the Bueno Splash. It took him two tries to do it because he hit his head off the ceiling the first time around.

The robots have taken over and more are coming! Two made scientists sent their greatest creations to battle when Mecha MAO fought Takagi Sanshirobo. It was an evenly fought match not just between the robots but between Mad Dr. Ueki and Mad Dr. Hige too. Things became even more dangerous when the match was interrupted by the emergence of a third robotic fighter known only as K-5000. Made out of liquid metal, K-5000 was resistant to all attacks that Mecha MAO and Sanshirobo could throw at it. Nothing could stop K-5000’s rampage so the other robots sacrificed themselves for one final chance at saving the world. Sanshirobo grabbed hold of K-5000 while MAO self destructed next to them. When the dust settled everyone was down and out… except for K-5000! The match was called off and there was no winner.

Masahiro Takanashi defeated Ram Kaichow in what was a pretty straightforward match until the finish. There was a lot of matwork until Kaichow gave Takanashi a Choke Slam. She then tried to give him the Rainmaker but Takanashi pulled the ref into her way to block it. He then grabbed one of the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Title belts from Chris Brookes and hit Kaichow over the head with it. The ref recovered after all of this and counted the pin none the wiser. After the match CDK tried to attack Kaichow again but she fought them off by giving Brookes a Tilt-O-Whirl DDT and then giving Takanashi the Rainmaker.

Brookes caused some trouble elsewhere earlier in the show. He fought The Invisible Man in the opening bout, losing to his unseen opponent thanks to a flash Frankensteiner out of nowhere. After the match Brookes showed respect to The Invisible Man by asking him to join his team for a big multi-person match taking place in Gatoh Move on 30th May. The match is going to be Baka Gaijin + Friends against New Beijing Pro Wrestling. Suddenly Sayaka walked over to them and complained about being left off the Baka Gaijin team despite always working on the shows behind the scenes. Brookes saw her point and announced she has been added to the team instead of The Invisible Man!

The next show will take place on 2nd July. After that Baka Gaijin and MAO will be holding an event called “FUCKED UP FEST VOL. 1” on 24th August that will feature music as well as wrestling matches.

Nao Kakuta Producing “CROSS” Event

May 20, 2024

“NAO KAKUTA PRODUCE – CROSS”, 06/07/2024
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Cherry Vs Kakeru Sekiguchi (Special Referee: Himeka)
2. Battle Royal Full Of Nao Kakuta: Mizuki Vs Suzume Vs Arisu Endo Vs Pom Harajuku Vs Yuki Arai
3. Maika Ozaki Vs HIMAWARI
4. Special Tag Match: Nao Kakuta & Tae Honma Vs Saori Anou & Natsupoi

On the same month when Nao Kakuta will be graduating from pro wrestling, she will be producing her own event at Shin-Kiba 1st RING with a little help from friends she wants to see in the ring one last time. The show is called “CROSS” because it will be the only place where so many people Kakuta knows from different companies can cross over and be together. It is not officially a Tokyo Joshi Pro show but they will be providing Kakuta with everything she needs to run it. It is being held in Shin-Kiba 1st RING because so many fond memories of her career took place there. It is where her debut match was, where her graduation from Actwres girl’Z took place, where she first wrestled for TJPW and where her TJPW graduation will be held.

The main event has Kakuta teaming with Tae Honma to take on Saori Anou & Natsupoi. All four women debuted on the very first AWG show together back in 2015. They are classmates who are important to Kakuta but all went their seperate ways over the last nine years. She thanked Stardom and the company president Taro Okada for allowing her to make this match happen. The other three are all sad to see Kakuta retiring soon but are looking forward to being in the same ring together after being apart for so long.

Kakuta wanted Maika Ozaki to be on the show because she also had her debut match on the first AWG show. She thinks Ozaki works very hard and her in a singles match is worth watching. HIMAWARI was chosen to be her opponent and Kakuta hopes she will do her best against her.

During Kakuta’s time in TJPW she has worn five different wrestling costumes. She came up with the idea to bring in five TJPW wrestlers and have them compete in a Battle Royal while wearing those costumes. Whenever TJPW held matches with the gimmick of everybody swapping each other’s gear, Kakuta is never around to watch it. So she is just as interested in seeing what happens in the Battle Royal as the fans will be.

There was a singles match Kakuta had against Cherry in AWG that made her discover how much fun wrestling can be and that she can hold her own in it. She is also friends with Kakeru Sekiguchi in her private life so she decided to put them together for a match. As a bonus, Kakuta invited retired wrestler Himeka to take part in the match as the special guest referee.

The worlds of DDT and the Osaka wrestling scene gathered together for Yukinori Matsui’s annual show and this year was a special one. The referee was celebrating 30 years in the business and put together a marathon show for the occasion, although he cared more about making sure everyone watching the show had fun. He admitted he was tired by the end of it and in hindsight probably should not have officiated the last four matches back to back. He was pleased with the quality of the matches that happened. He probably won’t be doing another anniversary show for another 5 or 10 years but you can bet Matsui will continue booking his annual Osaka show no matter what day it falls on every year.

Everyone in the main event congratulated Matsui and all expressed their gratitude to him backstage after the show. Yuki Ueno said Matsui has supported pro wrestling for 30 years and it is thanks to him that he was able to grow stronger as a champion today. He thinks it is important that Matsui holds these shows to make matches he wants to show to everyone. Tetsuya Endo feels honored that Matsui picked him to be in the main event. He noticed everyone in the match are all currently champions and have a high standing in DDT. He admits this year has been a struggle but it will be worth it if it will lead to better results in the future. That will be Endo’s way of repaying Matsui for everything he’s done for him. MAO said the history of companies that Matsui worked for is where all of his favorite wrestlers came from. He hopes Matsui will take care of himself for years to come because MAO intends to wrestle for another 50 years and he likes using Matsui as a weapon. Kazusada Higuchi told Matsui to do his best so Higuchi can continue doing his best too.

The match between Konosuke Takeshita and Minoru Suzuki had a little bit of extra gas added to it thanks to developments happening elsewhere this past week. Takeshita will be facing Jon Moxley in AEW soon in a non-title match and if Takeshita wins he will be getting an IWGP World Heavyweight Title shot. Suzuki was aware of that news. The day before this show happened he declared he will beat Takeshita and work his way towards destroying Moxley to take the championship for himself. Suzuki was a tough challenge but Takeshita was able to wear him down to the point of collapse. Suzuki withstood all of the Elbow Strikes and Jumping Knees until one final Elbow Butt put him down for the pinfall. By beating “The King Of Pro Wrestling” today, Takeshita can now boast he is the stronger of the two. A defeated Suzuki admitted he is now just an old man from the Showa era and has nothing else to say about the result.

Matsui isn’t the only person celebrating 30 years in the business this year. Kikutaro and Kuishinbo Kamen have been a vital part of Matsui’s career for a long, long time. The three of them have known each other since they were all wrestling trainees in Yokohama. Matsui ended up getting injured and switched to being a referee. Kikutaro paid tribute to him after the match by impersonating Atsushi Onita. Kamen was rewarded with a championship belt from the match sponsor for being the winner.

There was an unexpected guest accompanying Dick Togo’s team in Match #8. It was Diego! He even helped out by interfering in the match a little bit. Daisuke Sasaki enjoyed teaming with his mentor today but thinks Matsui should make them opponents next time. There are still many moves and other tricks that Sasaki wants to steal from Togo before he can ultimately surpass him. Yasu Urano & Antonio Honda both think seven years is too long a wait for them to wrestle Togo again. They would like to do it every six months. Honda also described Togo as the father of pro wrestling and Matsui is the mother. He himself is not sure if he is being serious or just joking.

Kyohei Wada was the referee for Match #7. To-y made demands at Sanshiro Takagi to raise his salary. Takagi told him he has to ask President Okamoto for that from now on. After the match Matsui presented Wada with a bouquet of flowers to celebrate Wada’s 50 years in the wrestling business. Wada said he wants to continue for another 20 years so Takagi encouraged him to reach his 70th anniversary.

Match #2 had to be restarted over and over because Danshoku Dieno, Super Sasadango Machine, Kazuki Hirata and Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi were all beating each other within seconds. Eventually they all collapsed onto each other in a pile and Matsui counted the pinfall for all of them, resulting in a draw. Although in the ring it was announced that they were all winners.

Keiko Takaeshita, the mother of Konosuke, was welcomed into the ring to greet everyone at the start of the show. She Clotheslined Matsui and finished the show’s opening call.

Hikari Noa Graduates From TJPW And The Up Up Girls

May 19, 2024

Today it was announced that Hikari Noa has graduated from both Tokyo Joshi Pro as well as The Up Up Girls. Noa had been out of action since the end of December for health reasons and then in February her absence continued for personal reasons. Discussions between Noa and TJPW about her future took place during that time and this was the conclusion for both parties. It should be noted that the announcement from The Up Up Girls side says Noa graduated from the idol group on 15th May. Both TJPW and The Up Up Girls said there would be no comment from Noa about the situation or any graduation match taking place. TJPW also apologises to fans who were waiting for Noa’s return for not being able to make it happen.

———————————————————————–

It is a disappointing ending to a story that’s been going on in the background for the last six months. It all began during the week of Christmas when Noa was pulled from an Up Up Girls concert and also the TJPW Christmas Eve show that happened the next day. Then the announcement came on New Year’s Eve about her taking a break from wrestling along with Free Wi-Fi vacating the Princess Tag Team Titles. Circumstances over what happened were never outright confirmed but there’s been suspicion from the start that what happened with Noa was more like a secret suspension or firing rather than time off needed for recovery. Noa at some point befriended a female super fan and when the two of them had a falling out, the fan leaked personal and restricted information about Noa and The Up Up Girls on social media. That Noa allegedly gave this person access to private details in the first place is probably what caused her absence to happen.

So what happens from here? Normally in TJPW a graduation also means retirement from pro wrestling but it’s not a strict meaning. Yuka Sakazaki and Marika Kobashi both “graduated” but clearly told everyone at the time they were going to wrestle again. Also we should now by now that retirement in pro wrestling means nothing. KANNA is coming back under the name Droog-K later this month. In fact that was an idea I thought could have happened if TJPW or The Up Up Girls wanted to cover up something. Strike a deal with a promotion like P.P.P Tokyo to take Noa off their hands so she could amicably split from her idol career and continue wrestling somewhere else. I guess she can still do something like that if she wants to continue wrestling but the announcement does not make it clear if she wants to continue that career. It is the end of “Hikari Noa” for sure though. If she does return to the ring I am expecting a name change.

I’m not sure if there is significance in the timing of Noa’s graduation from the idol group. As mentioned above they say it happened on 15th May but news of her TJPW graduation came out today on the 19th. I don’t think it is that crazy for anyone reading this to feel suspicious with the debut of Marigold taking place tomorrow. You all saw how quickly that group from Actwres girl’Z jumped from there to Marigold in the space of 24 hours. However the guy responsible for Marigold’s English content hasn’t teased anything yet. I remember he did back when Stardom signed up most of the TJPW talent that left back in September 2020. If there is smoke to this fire you will hear that guy humming campfire songs nearby.

1. Shota Kawakami Debut Match: Ken Ohka defeated Shota Kawakami with a Crab Hold (6:16).
2. Hartley Jackson, Choun-Shiryu & Yuna Manase defeated Ken Ohka, Banny Oikawa & Gabai Ji-chan when Manase pinned Oikawa with the Suzuki Dynamic (13:16).
3. Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase defeated Ken Ohka & Baliyan Akki when Watase pinned Ohka with a Diving Foot Stomp (17:24).
4. Yumehito Imanari defeated Tyson Maeguchi with a Power Bomb (7:07).
5. Spirit Of Ganbare World Tag Team Titles: Shuichiro Katsumura & Takuya Wada (c) defeated Shinichiro Tominaga & Daisuke®️ when Katsumura submitted Tominaga with the Triple Three 3 Lock (9:32).
*V6 for GROUND ABSOLUTE.
6. Kitsune World Title: Sayaka Unagi (c) defeated YuuRI with the Dai Gi Deatta (12:19).
*V2 for Sayaka Unagi.
7. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Keisuke Ishii (c) defeated Kouki Iwasaki with a Jumping High Kick (18:24).
*V1 for Keisuke Ishii.

One defence in and Keisuke Ishii is already feeling the pain of being a champion. Kouki Iwasaki was such a tough challenge for him to overcome that he did not want to name the next challenger for the Spirit Of Ganbare World Title afterwards. That caused a line of wrestlers to enter the ring one by one, each making the case for a title shot. Yuna Manase, Ken Ohka, Choun-Shiryu, Baliyan Akki, Daisuke®️ and even Gabai Ji-chan were all there. A decision was made to have a Battle Royal on 2nd June to determine the No. 1 Contender. Ishii considers Akki as the favorite to win but admits the winner could be anyone.

Yesterday Sayaka Unagi got to wrestle Arisa Nakajima in Shin-Kiba 1st RING. It made her realize that in pro wrestling you can never know when the end will come. Under that logic her match with YuuRI today in the same venue could be the last time they ever face each other. There was also a heavy atmosphere in the venue because of an injury that happened in the match before it (more on that later). Unagi praised YuuRI for getting the crowd back into the show with their match and it proves she has grown as a pro wrestler. Unagi used to have multiple championships but now she only has the Kitsune World Title so she wants to keep it no matter what. YuuRI called the match a good experience and she learned there are wrestlers she cannot beat even when she gives it her all. She is devoting all of her free time to wrestling and wants to beat Unagi some day.

Apparently Shinichiro Tominaga got injured during the Spirit Of Ganbare Tag Team Titles match and went to hospital afterwards to get checked up on. That is according to Shuichiro Katsumura’s post-match comments. Tominaga was there for the entire match and dropped the fall by submitting to Katsumura. Daisuke®️ had moments to shine by himself and landed a No Touch Topé con Hilo onto Tominaga & Takuya Wada out of the ring. After the match GROUND ABSOLUTE asked if there was any team out there stronger than they are? Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase entered the ring and stared down the champions.

Due to a bunch of different circumstances Ken Ohka had to wrestle in the first three matches of the show. He beat the rookie Shota Kawakami in Kawakami’s debut match, took a Double Brainbuster from Hartley Jackson & Manase in Match #2 and was pinned by Watase with a Double Stomp in Match #3.

Kawakami had a goal for his debut match. He wanted to put up a good enough fight that Ohka would need to use the Flame Spear to beat him. That did not happen, Ohka instead tapped him out with a Crab Hold. Kawakami still hopes he can get to that point in the future and told fans to keep an eye on him. Ohka said Kawakami should instead put his focus on winning but praised the rookie for showing more passion than anyone else in the world.

Shu Sakurai appeared during the show with some important announcements. He has gotten married this year and the happy couple are expecting their first child! For the time being Sakurai has decided to fully leave Ganbare☆Pro but that does not mean he has retired from pro wrestling.

There is an update on Munetatsu Nakamura. He has been cleared by his doctor to resume training and is planning to return depending on GanPro’s decision.

6. Miu Watanabe, Rika Tatsumi & HIMAWARI defeated Maki Itoh, Yuki Aino & Toga when Watanabe pinned Toga with the Tear Drop (16:34).

Daydream were impressed with HIMAWARI’s performance in the main event. Rika Tatsumi told her after the match it is hard to believe it’s only been a year since her pro wrestling debut. She’s not a monster yet like Miu Watanabe but she has already become a reliable wrestler. Watanabe objected to being called a monster.

For so long now whenever somebody from Tokyo Joshi Pro travelled across Asia to wrestle you could count on Alexis Lee to be one of their opponents. It was time for Lee to go the opposite direction and finally wrestle in TJPW. She was here today to fight Yuki Kamifuku for both the Queen Of Asia Title and the VPW Women’s Title. Kamifuku beat her for both championships in their previous matches together. She continued the winning streak, beating Lee with the Famouser to remain a double crown champion. Lee said she has now fought Kamifuku four times and today was the most nervous she’s been because it is her debut in Japan. Even though she lost she feels fulfilled because wrestling in Japan has been her ultimate goal. Kamifuku said when she won the brand new VPW Women’s Title a great looking Vietnamese guy congratulated her. If she was to lose in her first defence today she thinks the same guy would have told her “What’s wrong with you?”

It was announced that Hikaru Shida will return to TJPW on 9th June for a singles match against Moka Miyamoto. It will be Shida’s first match in TJPW since “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’22” in June 2022.

The early summer edition of DDT’s beer garden shows ended with Yuki Ueno calling out Sanshiro Takagi and telling him he wants to defend the KO-D Openweight Title against him. Takagi wants the same and already had a contract for the match written up so it can take place as soon as possible. The title match will take place in Shinjuku FACE on 5th June. That is a few days after Takagi is no longer the president of CyberFight so he will be free to fight Ueno with less responsibilities to worry about. The two shared a toast to celebrate until Takagi gave Ueno the Stunner. Ueno said he is looking forward to the match because even though DDT is changing, he is still here.

Three falls consisting of random rules determined who was leaving today as the DDT Extreme Champion. The 1st fall was a Wasabi Cream Puff Death Match. When you pinned your opponent for a 1 Count, the opponent’s second at ringside would have to pick a cream puff and eat it. If the puff contained wasabi then the round would end. Antonio Honda ended up winning the fall when To-y ate the wasabi puff. The 2nd Fall was a Scramble Bunkhouse Bra Hunt Match. Honda and Shunma Katsumata had to race down to the ring and be the first one to put on a bra. Honda used Gongitsune to slow down Katsumata. He got his hands on a bra first but struggled for too long. Katsumata got his own bra and wore it before Honda could to even the score. The final deciding fall could only be won with a 2 Count Pinfall. Katsumata came out on top and used a Backwards Rolling Cradle to win the match and defend his championship.

Katsumata already knows where he will defend the title next. It will be at the Aqua Yukari sauna in Chiba on 21st June. He called out for anyone to challenge him on the date. He ended up getting three challengers. Yukio Naya, To-y and Illusion all entered the ring demanding to be in the match. Katsumata agreed to defend the title against all of them in a Falls Count Anywhere Survival 4 Way match at the sauna.

Since tomorrow is Danshoku Dieno’s birthday he felt it is time for him to find a successor. He officiated a match between Takeshi Masada and Kazuma Sumi with the intention to pass down his gimmick to the winner. He encouraged and then later forced the two participants to wrestle like he does. Neither Masada nor Sumi wanted to win and both tried to throw the match to each other. Eventually Sumi decided to go along with the idea when he gave Masada the Danshoku Driver for a nearfall. He then gave Masada the Lip Lock and left him for Dieno to do the real Danshoku Driver. Sumi pinned him afterward and Dieno counted the fall. The match was immediately followed by a press conference where Dieno announced Sumi will now be called Danshoku Dieno II! He changed into Dieno’s wrestling tights and ran around giving everyone Lip Locks to celebrate. However a couple of hours after the show DDT announced that Dieno II had changed his mind and will go back to being Kazuma Sumi.

The stage in Ueno Park’s theater features a small pool area in front of it. For Match #2 the wrestlers agreed to have a Pond Elimination match where the first team to get both of their opponents out of the pond at the same time would win. Toru Owashi got close to eliminating both MAO & To-y with a Double Headscissors Takeover. He was able to go through with it when Akito pushed all three of them out of the pool to win.

A press conference was held at the start of the show featuring the four semi-finalists of this year’s King Of DDT. MAO said he is two wins away from winning the tournament and therefore three wins away from becoming the KO-D Champion. He not only has momentum but also a mysterious power that will make him win the whole thing. Kazusada Higuchi simply reminded everyone he is taking things one match at a time and wants to focus on beating MAO. Chris Brookes said he can beat Daisuke Sasaki in a fair fight but Sasaki likes to cheat. Brookes knows how to cheat too so he requested their bout be turned into a No DQ Match. Sasaki agreed to it and called for Hisaya Imabayashi to make it happen.
