Clown’s teddy companion Kumaun will also be leaving and has written a farewell message. They’ve spent 6 months on Earth and decided that it’s a nice place. They’ll miss it so hope that everyone will come to this show to say their goodbyes.

Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~ 2017

The 2nd annual Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~ is the main focus for BASARA this summer. The tournament will last throughout eight shows with two round robin blocks of six wrestlers each. The winners of each block will meet in the final with 500,000 yen prize money on the line. The money was taken straight out of Isami Kodaka’s pocket. Every group match has a 30 minute time limit and the final has no time limit. A win is worth 2 points, a draw is worth 1 point and defeat is worth 0 points. In case there is a tie for first place, a tiebreaker match will be held on the final night in Shinjuku.

Last year’s winner was Hiroshi Fukuda. He won the tournament by beating Isami Kodaka in the final. He celebrated by renaming himself Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi and hasn’t looked back since. This year both Hiroshi and Kodaka are in the same group. Add FUMA and Ryota Nakatsu, who could be the Union MAX Champion when the tournament starts and you have a block crowded with many of BASARA’s main players. The current MAX Champion Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi looks in my opinion to be the strong favourite to win the A Block. The rookie Takato Nakano is bring thrown right into the fire. He’ll only have one match under his belt before he begins his tournament run.

He isn’t too fond of the name because he is not fighting in DNA with a hunting mindset. But whatever, he is putting all of his focus into the match. Kind of. The information he learned from his upcoming opponents isn’t really helpful. All he knows is Kouki Iwasaki has long hair and he hasn’t looked up Mike Bailey yet. Kendo Kashin has kept himself silent over accusations that he was the man in the lion mask who attacked Iwasaki at “DNA EP.31”.

Daisuke Sasaki has taken a liking to DAMNATION’s newest ally Heidi Katrina. The British wrestler appeared unexpectedly at DAMNATION’s self produced show over the weekend and dominated her opponent Nobuhiro Shimatani. Since then she revealed her goal in Japan is to defeat DDT’s top female wrestler Saki Akai. Sasaki is trying to keep his cool around Katrina but cracks began to show during a press conference. He told Amon Tsurumi to shut up when he was asked if he was going to propose to Katrina like he did to Candice LeRae. He then got angry at Guanchulo for translating the questions and answers for Katrina. He took over the task by himself. When Katrina described him as a “wild, strong and exciting” Sasaki translated it into “very kind, very strong and a lovely man” who she wants to marry. The conference then got physical when Masahiro Takanashi criticised Sasaki’s inappropriate translations. Katrina grabbed Takanashi by the jaw and threatened to hurt him until Akai shoved her back.

The winner of the 5 Way Match gets a DDT Extreme Title shot on 21st May.

On 8th July Ganbare☆Wrestling will be hosting a special 4th Anniversary show for Dai Suzuki in his hometown of Tochigi. This is news for Suzuki because he has never wrestled for Ganpuro. This is really just an excuse for Ohka to promote a show outside of Tokyo and spread Ganpuro over to a new region and apparently Suzuki owed him a favour going back to his debut match.

Danshoku Dino held a Coming Out party for Royce Isaacs at the Cholesterol Bar in Shinjuku earlier today. Isaacs explained that when he used the Lip Lock on Antonio Honda during their match at the weekend he felt comfortable with the action. Although he worked hard in America he was never happy with the situation he was in. But when he came to Japan and met Dino he was convinced to come out as gay. Dino explained that he saw the gay wrestler in Isaacs and felt a little outraged that Isaacs was holding it back. So to help him out he brought him to this bar and asked the owner Mr. Takuya if Isaacs can become accepted as a gay wrestler. Takuya said of course he would, he can even reach high enough to be No. 1! Isaacs said that even though he currently holds a Right To Challenge contract, he knows that everyone is more interested in his “Miracle Ass”. He then showed some examples of what he is talking about by using his ass to cut a banana in half, open a bottle of champagne and cook raw eggs. Dino, Takuya and Amon Tsurumi tasted each of the food and were delighted by the taste! Isaacs said everyone will get to see the Miracle Ass in action before he cashes in his RTC contract.

Iron Man Title In Orlando, Right To Challenge Changes, Double Sweet Death Match

This past week in Orlando, the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title went through a series of title changes all around the city. There were many pro wrestling shows held throughout Orlando and the Iron Man Title was seen in several of them. The first title change happened on 30th March when Joey Ryan lost the title to Brandi Rhodes on a WrestlePro show. The show promoter Pat Buck then won the title backstage later in the night. Buck was later pinned by Ryan. So far, so good.

The next day Ryan defended the title in an Over The Top Rope Battle Royal at the WrestleCon Super Show. Ryan was pinned by The Underground Luchador who afterwards revealed himself to be Matt Striker. Ryan, who wasn’t eliminated because it was Over The Top Rope rules only, threw Striker out of the ring to eliminate him and win back the belt. The match ended with Swoggle eliminating Ryan to become champion. Ryan quickly won the belt back but his celebration was then interrupted by The Sandman! One Singapore Cane beating later and The Sandman is champ. Later backstage Swoggle snuck up on a sleeping Sandman and pinned him, then Joey did the same to Swoggle. So at the end of the night, Joey had the belt. Got it? Because it’s going to get a bit more hectic.

Many more changes happened on April Fool’s Day. First, a match between Joey and The Primate at What Culture Pro Wrestling was interrupted by Jack The Jobber pinning Joey to win the title. Joey won the belt back but then lost it to Joe Hendry. However, Hendry declared that he hates comedy wrestling so he threw the belt into a trash bin. An official decision was made to declare the Trash Bin as the new champion! Jack The Jobber pinned the Bin, Joey pinned Jack and then ran off to the WrestleCon Women’s Super Show. While there, Shayna Baszler submitted Joey with an Armbar. Eddie Kingston stole the belt backstage. He was declared the champion when Baszler gave up searching for the belt. Kingston then traded the belt to Joey for some cigarettes.

Sunday was a quiet day in comparison. With all the attention on WrestleMania, there weren’t as many shows being held elsewhere in the city. But in the early hours of the morning Beyond Wrestling was running a midnight show. Joey Ryan was pinned by Joey Janela in a Mixed Tag Match. When the show was over Janela was ambushed by The Invisible Man! So right now at the time of writing, The Invisible Man is your Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion!

Also if Ohka wants to be a strong champion he needs to defend the belt against strong challengers so he’s giving Maruyama the home field advantage by holding the title match in Osaka!

The Aftermath Of Saitama Super Arena

March 22, 2017

One day after “JUDGEMENT 2017” all the staff and wrestlers woke up to news that DDT was given two brand new tour busses by the Grace Tourism Corporation. DDT hopes these new busses will help expand their tours nationwide but first Sanshiro Takagi wants to use one to go strawberry picking. One of the busses was immediately used to host a press conference to announce the cards for the rest of March and April.

Takagi gave an update on the announcement that DDT will run the Tokyo Dome. Kind of. The plan is to have a single Street Wrestling match take place inside the arena. No date or match has been decided yet but Takagi would like to have Minoru Suzuki be involved. He wants Suzuki because Suzuki was with him in the ring at Budokan Hall five years ago when Takagi first revealed his intentions of running the Dome. Takagi said the entire building will be open to them so the match can potentially take place on the pitcher’s mound, the bullpen or even the boiler room. However none of this has been cleared with Suzuki yet.

Dino would rather keep the title… oh, and also get revenge for Ryota Yamazato getting his ass destroyed by firecrackers.

It’s surprising to see this match happen already but Konosuke Takeshita will face his friend turned enemy Tetsuya Endo in his first defence of the KO-D Openweight Title. Endo doesn’t really care about winning the title. He is more interested in making Takeshita’s life miserable and taking the title from him so soon is the perfect way to make him suffer.

The feud between Danshoku Dino and Joey Ryan now has American politics involved! Dino held a press conference with “Donald Trump” who claimed to be a new owner of DDT. Trump was here to give an international PowerPoint presentation for Dino’s upcoming match with Ryan. Trump said the match will be a war between two geniuses. Because of this it was difficult to determine what match the two wrestlers should have. Trump gave a SWOT analysis on Dino to solve this problem. According to the analysis, Dino’s strength is being the strongest gay wrestler in the world but his weakness is his antics making his parents angry. His opportunity is to make gay marriage legal in Japan but his biggest threat is Japan’s ageing society.

Using this information Trump came up with several ideas for match stipulations like a Gay Tag Royal Rumble, a Mutual Parant Swapping Death Match and a 30 Year Iron Man Match. He also considered moving the match over to the town where Dino’s parents live. But as the conference went on Trump began focusing on the words “SWOT ANALYSIS” on the screen. He looked closer and closer until he singled out the word “ANAL”. That’s when he made his decision. It should be an Anal Explosion Death Match! This match is a World Wrestling War so it should be fought under the most dangerous stipulation! Trump denied being Super Sasadango Machine in disguise. Dino suggested that Sasadango evolved into Trump like a Pokémon. Dino then wondered why is this match now a war? Fighting Joey in an Anal Explosion Death Match isn’t going to solve anything. Trump ended the conference by saying he will never leave Japan.

Gran MilliMeters, JULIE Enters Dramatic Rumble, Ganbare Tag Tournament

This will be the last blog update for a couple of days. I’m travelling to Germany for wXw 16 Carat Gold this weekend and won’t be back until Monday. Other than the BASARA and Tokyo Joshi shows on Sunday I reckon it will be a little quiet for DDT news while I’m gone. If anything crazy does happen I’ll try to tweet about it. When I’m back I’ll be working on my preview for “JUDGEMENT 2017”. Also there’s the Japanese Audio Wrestling podcast episode I was a guest on to look forward to when that comes out. You can’t celebrate 20 years of DDT without including Poison Sawada JULIE somewhere in there. The snake magician is coming out of retirement for one day only to take part in the Dramatic Rumble.
