But what does Suzuki have to do to take on Eruption? According to Maki Itoh it’s join the NEO Itoh Respect Army! We’ll take her word that he has joined the unit.

BURNING is the newest unit in DDT. The complete group of four led by Tetsuya Endo will have their first match together in Yoyogi. They are heading straight into the heat of things by going against The 37KAMIINA.

An unusual request was put out there by Super Sasadango Machine. He asked DDT to team with Shinya Aoki & Yumiko Hotta to take on Pheromones. According to Sasadango, he met up with Aoki to record a podcast and afterward Aoki admitted to him that he is in love with Hotta! Aoki grew up watching Hotta’s matches on the ATHENA TV show and never gave up hope that they would one day be together. That day finally came when Aoki defended the DDT Extreme Title against Hotta. It was the only time when Aoki felt at ease with another person. Sasadango wants the two of them to reunite under the lens of Yumehito Imanari’s camera. That is why he put together this match against Pheromones.

The dark matches will air live on DDT’s Youtube channel. Sanshiro Takagi is playing with fire here because his opponent is Maku Donaruto! He’s just daring Youtube to ban the channel at this point.

Tetsuya Endo’s New Unit Is BURNING!

Tetsuya Endo has officially formed his own unit! After weeks of planning and consideration, the project nicknamed Atsumare Entetsu no Mori has become a reality. Endo met with Kenta Kobashi again yesterday to put the final decisions together. Endo told Kobashi he wanted Yusuke Okada and Yuya Koroku to be part of the group but couldn’t find anyone to fill the chief advisor role like Kobashi recommended. Kobashi said the group on paper sounded weak so he invited somebody to meet with them. It was Jun Akiyama!

Kobashi said it would be interesting to see Endo & Akiyama team together because Endo needs an element that Akiyama provides to improve. They can still wrestle each other in singles matches, but Kobashi advised that they should be on the same side. Endo pointed out that he and Akiyama are complete opposites in wrestling style but he understands he can learn from him for that reason. Akiyama welcomes the idea of taking the advisor role and letting Endo be the unit leader. They can chase after many championships but Endo needs to be the one who says he will go after the KO-D Openweight Title. In this situation, Akiyama sees himself as the fierce dog who needs a master to rein him in otherwise he will bite everyone. Endo liked the idea and invited Akiyama to join him.

After the members were decided, all that was left was to name the new unit. Akiyama suggested The Beatles because Endo likes to collect beetles. Kobashi laughed and said that was no good. Endo then suggested calling themselves BURNING because he will be working with Akiyama. There was some resistance to the idea. Akiyama explained it has been used a few times which makes the name hard to establish. Also Kobashi’s association with the name is so strong that Endo will have to work really hard to cover for it. Endo claimed he is ready to do that and Kobashi gave him permission to use the name. Tetsuya Endo’s new unit is officially called BURNING!

This is the 4th Generation of BURNING. 1st Generation was in All Japan from 1998 to 2000. 2nd Generation was in NOAH throughout the 2000s. 3rd Generation was the 2012 exodus of talent from NOAH led by Akiyama jumping over to All Japan.

Nodoka Tenma And Marika Kobashi Graduating From TJPW Next Spring

Today it was announced that both Nodoka Tenma and Marika Kobashi will be graduating from Tokyo Joshi Pro next year. Tenma will leave the company on 26th March while Kobashi is finishing up on 17th April. Tenma’s graduation is a complete retirement from pro wrestling. Kobashi however says the possibility of a future return to the ring is not at zero percent.

Tenma had been thinking about her future around the time her family started growing their own rice and vegetables as a hobby. Over time it developed into Tenma wanting to get into agriculture and grow food for her hometown Okayama. She had talked to Tetsuya Koda and the company about her plans to retire and when the Sumo Hall show was announced for 19th March, she made it her final goal as a pro wrestler to be there. She still has things to do in wrestling such as her homecoming show in Okayama on 9th January so she will do her best for her final months. She also wants to make The Bakuretsu Sisters with Yuki Aino become even more explosive by challenging for the Princess Tag Team Titles one more time.

Kobashi made her decision to focus on her education. She’s been wrestling in TJPW since she was 14 years old and today at 20 she is in university. She only has two years left in college and wants to live the student life. While she is graduating from TJPW, she does not want it to be treated as a retirement from wrestling. The time may come in the future where she would like to wrestle again but for now she wants to live her life to the fullest. Kobashi promises to return the love the fans gave her with even more in her final months. She would also like to team with Abdullah Kobayashi because he is one of her favorite wrestlers (Marika’s ring name was never inspired by Kenta Kobashi. It instead came from the “Ko” in Abdullah Kobayashi and “hashi” from Atsushi Ohashi. Kenta Kobashi himself was speechless when he found out about this).

It was meant to appeal to kids and attract that audience to TJPW. It never worked. However it will be brought back for one day only on 4th January.

The bad blood between Pheromones and The Kuronita Army is getting hotter. Atsushi Onita thinks his team are a lock to win the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles so he got himself, Sanshiro Takagi and Hisaya Imabayashi (unwillingly standing in for Kuro-chan) to pose with the belts at the press conference. Danshoku Dieno brought up concerns that Imabayashi will interrupt the match and cancel it like he always do. Pheromones attacked Imabayashi to send a warning to their challengers. Onita rescued him and sent Pheromones fleeing. Imabayashi promised to give The Kuronita Army a year end bonus as thanks if they win the titles from Pheromones.

The final big DDT show of 2021 has its title matches decided. Konosuke Takeshita and Yuji Okabayashi have their rematch, this time with the KO-D Openweight Title is on the line. Their D-Ou Grand Prix match ended in a 30 minute draw but the rematch will have a 60 minute limit. Kenta Kobashi was a fan of that match and hopes the rematch will be just as exciting. There also won’t be a lot of opportunities for Takeshita and Okabayashi to wrestle each other before the show because Okabayashi has his own schedule with Big Japan keeping him busy.

With his grudge against Soma Takao out of the way, Daisuke Sasaki faces an unlikely next challenger. Masahiro Takanashi gets a DDT Universal Title match on the recommendation of his friend Chris Brookes. Sasaki thought Takanashi had retired and went to work somewhere in Ichigaya. But he was convinced to put the title on the line against him.

The new powerhouse team of Yuji Hino & Bodyguard challenge DISASTER BOX for the KO-D Tag Team Titles. This is coming off of a poor tournament for both HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura. HARASHIMA finished with zero wins while Yoshimura lost to both Hino & Bodyguard in their block. Even if having no momentum wasn’t a problem, the champions still have two big mountains to climb.

No injury is going to stop Yukio Sakaguchi for long.

Minoru Suzuki and Maku Donaruto will be on the show. Imagine if they get paired together.

Ganpro Double Tripleheader In January

The new year for Ganbare☆Pro begins with two tripleheader shows within days of each other. The first day takes place in Kitazawa Town Hall on 8th January. Shinjiro Otani knows full well there is another big wrestling show is happening that day but he believes in the power of pro wrestling and he believes this tripleheader will be a success. The second tripleheader takes place two days later in Itabashi Green Hall. Each show promises to be individual from each other while all conveying the power of Ganpro!

Shota has always wanted to do a wrestling summit combining the Japanese and American wrestling scenes. The show he gets to produce here is much smaller in scale but he is still calling it the Indie Wrestling Summit. Shota thinks independent wrestling in this day and age isn’t about company size, roster numbers or skill levels. It’s whether or not the people involved have the spirit of the indies. Shota is using his 13 years of experience to gather wrestlers with this spirit and show them off at the highest level.

Soma Takao will be on the show. Shota doesn’t have a match yet so ROMANCE DAWN could face a team from the indies.

Since Kenta Kobashi will be in attendance to see the D-Ou Grand Prix final, Tetsuya Endo decided to visit him at his gym during the week to get some feedback on his tournament performance. Endo also brought up his plans to create a new unit. He asked Kobashi for advice, citing Kobashi’s experience leading units such as GET and Burning. Kobashi said a unit needs a strategist so Endo’s position would improve if he finds a councilor. Endo immediately asked Kobashi if he could take that role in the unit. Kobashi declined because he is not interested in returning to the ring. He did however invite Endo back to his gym again after the Grand Prix so they could talk more about potential members for Endo’s new unit.

While I’ve been writing up this blog post, all of a sudden DDT sends out a tweet in English hyping up a big mystery name. “That BIG NAME that everyone’s talking about recently will be at DDT 12.26 NEVER MIND 2021 in YOYOGI! Instead he is willing to defend the MAX Title against him.

During the week Mizuki Watase unexpectedly requested a move from DDT to Ganbare☆Pro. DDT had met with Watase to discuss his plans and all sides agreed to go through with the move as of 25th November. Watase’s match against Yusuke Okada on 5th December will still go ahead and it is now his send-off match from DDT. Watase has wrestled in Ganpro several times and thinks the heat from the fans matches his own temperature. He is grateful to DDT for having him for 6 years including his debut match in Sumo Hall. He hopes to get stronger so the next time he steps in a DDT ring he will return the favour. This move also opens up Watase’s options because he wants to wrestle in other companies, in foreign countries and against various people. If he can get that kind of schedule then he will be able to wrestle the same amount of matches as he would if he stayed in DDT.

She doesn’t know much about TropicaWild because she doesn’t interact much with other joshi promotions. Mizuki however has history with SAKI. It is also named after an adult magazine which is another sign that all is not as it seems. The only wrestler associated with Dera Beppin is Papillon Akemi, a masked wrestler designed to look like a shoujo manga character. If it’s joshi that Akemi wants then joshi is what Akemi will get. Saki Akai is stepping up on the DDT side.

Other points involve getting local shops to put up posters, handing out leaflets and selling tickets.

Even though Mizuki doesn’t like to fight against Miyu Yamashita she does have a good win-loss record against her. She has now been full-time with Tokyo Joshi Pro for a year now and wants to carry the promotion on her back. That means she needs to take the Princess Of Princess Title from Yamashita. The champion has been beaten by Mizuki twice this year. During the Tokyo Princess Cup as well as yesterday’s Princess Tag Titles match. She respects her so much that she wants the match to take place on the annual Ittenyon show. There is no better time for Yamashita to avenge those losses.

Hikari Noa will next defend the International Princess Title against the winner of a Battle Royal taking place on 4th December. Noa thinks if a wrestler who has not been able to move up a step gets voted into the Battle Royal and wins the title shot, it will be a chance for that person to gain confidence. She will watch the Battle Royal and form her strategy depending on who wins.

The eligible wrestlers you can vote for are Yuki Aino, Yuki Arai, Maki Itoh, Arisu Endo, Nao Kakuta, Yuki Kamifuku, Mahiro Kiryu, Marika Kobashi, Suzume, Rika Tatsumi, Nodoka Tenma, Shoko Nakajima, Haruna Neko, Hyper Misao, Pom Harajuku, Moka Miyamoto, Raku and Miu Watanabe. Those excluded from the pool are either the current champions or not in Japan right now.

If he can’t beat Ohka then he thinks there was no point in becoming the champion.

The Magical Sugar Rabbits are usually at their strongest when they are the defending champions. 121000000 are fighting just as much to prove they love each other than they are trying to win the Princess Tag Team Titles. Then you mix in all the histories between Mizuki and Maki Itoh as well as Yuka Sakazaki and Miyu Yamashita and you got a big main event to look forward to.

We already saw what Shuichiro Katsumura and Yumehito Imanari have been doing to prepare for the Ganbare☆Climax finals. This week the outsiders Tetsuhiro Kuroda and Tatsuhito Takaiwa were interviewed about their thoughts over the tournament. Kuroda was so impressed by Ken Ohka taking so many Lariats in their match that he wants him to be his first challenger if he becomes the first Spirit Of Ganbare Champion. He understands that Imanari is growing stronger but Kuroda has been wrestling for 29 years now. He wants to win because he can.

Takaiwa has mixed opinions on his tournament matches so far. Taison Maeguchi is a complete novice in pro wrestling so Takaiwa only cared about bringing out his feelings in the ring. The match against Mizuki Watase however felt more like pro wrestling. Both matches warmed Takaiwa’s heart in some way. He will be cautious against Katsumura but believes he has the heart to win the tournament. If he wins the Spirit Of Ganbare Title then he will have a Triple Crown of indie titles made up of that, the UWA World Jr. Title and the WEW Jr. Title. Takaiwa was also the first ever IWGP Jr. Tag Team Champion with Shinjiro Otani. Since Otani has a relationship with Ganbare☆Pro that means Takaiwa has no choice but to become the first Spirit Of Ganbare Champion!

The final is all about The 37KAMIINA. High school classmates Yuki Ueno and Konosuke Takeshita both won their blocks and have a big clash set for Korakuen Hall. Takeshita is unbeaten in this tournament while holding the KO-D Openweight Title. Ueno has climbed tooth and nail past a very difficult cast of opponents to meet his friend up at the top.

Daisuke Sasaki revealed that around ten years ago, Soma Takao made him eat dog food. He didn’t give much detail as to why it happened but the humiliation never left him. All this time they were together in DAMNATION and Sasaki let his anger over it linger. Apparently this was all part of a very long term plan. Sasaki brought Takao into DAMNATION just so he could eventually attack him from behind and make him eat dog food!

All of the D-Ou Grand Prix participants who failed to make the final are in a big 10-Man Tag Match. It’s the A Block Vs the B Block!

Two weeks before their Current Blast Death Match, Pheromones get Sanshiro Takagi all to themselves in a Handicap Match. Takagi has to have a trick up his sleeve otherwise why would he end up in a situation like this?

The DDT GM Hisaya Imabayashi has accused Yumehito Imanari as being the root of all evil behind the existence of Pheromones. He is calling in Shinya Aoki to deal with Imanari and get rid of him. Aoki also decided to put the DDT Extreme Title on the line and used his power as champion to ban all ringside attendants. That means Pheromones cannot be in Imanari’s corner. Imanari promised the match will still be indecent and he can’t wait for Aoki to experience it.
