1. Yuni defeated Hinata Kasai with the Firebird Splash (6:45).
2. Yuki Iino & Yukio Naya defeated Kazuki Hirata & Akito when Naya pinned Hirata with an Elbow Drop (8:03).
3. Chris Brookes, Antonio Honda & Takeshi Masada defeated Jun Akiyama, Kazusada Higuchi & Naomi Yoshimura when Honda pinned Yoshimura with a Forward Rolling Cradle (12:59).
4. Special Single Match: HARASHIMA defeated Soma Takao with the Somato (8:47).
5. Special Tag Match: MAO & KANON (w/ KIMIHIRO) defeated Yuki Ueno & Danshoku Dieno when KANON pinned Dieno with a Lariat (13:25).
6. KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles: Daisuke Sasaki, Hideki Okatani, MJ Paul, Demus & Ilusion defeated To-y, Yuya Koroku, Daichi Sato, Yuki Ishida & Kazuma Sumi (c) when Ilusion pinned Sumi with the Swanton Bomb (16:51).
*D GENERATIONS fail in V2. DAMNATION T.A becomes the 11th KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Champions!

The D GENERATIONS CUP is just around the corner and Ilusion has snatched momentum from a bunch of his rivals thanks to DAMNATION T.A winning the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles! The defending champs going into the match were all part of the D GENERATIONS (with Daichi Sato substituting for Keigo Nakamura who is still on excursion in Mexico) but their unity was no match for DAMNATION T.A’s dirty fighting. Daisuke Sasaki blindsided Kazuma Sumi with a chairshot to the back, allowing Ilusion to finish Sumi off with the Swanton Bomb. Ilusion gathered together all five belts for himself while proclaiming Sasaki will win both the KO-D Openweight Title and DDT Universal Title next year. Then Ilusion will win the D GENERATIONS CUP and challenge Sasaki for the Universal Title! He took that comment back when Sasaki glared at him and instead said that 2025 ends with DAMNATION T.A closing out the final DDT show of the year.

The sudden creation of a Yuki Ueno & Danshoku Dieno tag team had the pair coming up with big plans. They already want to challenge Strange Love Connection for the KO-D Tag Team Titles and then go global from there. But when they lost to SLC in a non-title match, Ueno & Dieno quickly decided to disband their team. Although they don’t rule out the idea of reuniting the team next year.

Soma Takao’s match with HARASHIMA today is his last for the time being. He is taking time off to deal with a knee injury and has no timeline for how long it will take for him to return. He admits to being worried over it but is confident he will return next year and get to wrestle in DDT again. HARASHIMA promised that Takao’s knee will heal properly because he’ll be training!

*Ken Ohka becomes the 1,795th champion.
-. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Mahiro Kiryu defeated Ken Ohka (c) with a School Boy (?:??).
*Mahiro Kiryu becomes the 1796th champion.
3. Shuichiro Katsumura defeated Akira Shoji with the Triple Three 3 Lock (10:24).
4. YuuRI 5th Anniversary Match: Sareee defeated YuuRI with the Uranage (14:09).
5. Spirit Of Ganbare World Tag Team Titles: Yumehito Imanari & Shinichiro Tominaga defeated Ryota Nakatsu & Takumi Tsukamoto (c) when Tominaga pinned Tsukamoto with the Wine Hamon Overdrive (18:33).
*Ryota Nakatsu & Takumi Tsukamoto fail in V4. Touchable become the 5th Spirit Of Ganbare World Tag Team Champions!
6. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Masaaki Mochizuki (c) defeated Keisuke Ishii with the Triangle Kick (18:03).
*V4 for Masaaki Mochizuki.

What looked like the crowning moment of Keisuke Ishii’s career just wasn’t going to happen in the end thanks to Masaaki Mochizuki. Ishii withstood Mochizuki’s kick heavy offence to deal big damage with the Kneel Kick. But the Exploder Suplex and High Angle Double Arm DDT afterwards couldn’t put Mochizuki away. Ishii showed his own toughness by kicking out of the Shin Saikyou High Kick as well as the Twister. Mochizuki had to use the Triangle Kick to finally put him away for a successful Spirit Of Ganbare World Title defence. After the match Mochizuki said he was aware that for the last three years the SOG World Title changed hands on Ganbare☆Pro’s final show of the year so he felt under pressure to break that streak. When he asked who will challenge him in 2026, Munetatsu Nakamura entered the ring and talked about how frustrating it is to see another company’s wrestler close out the show instead of somebody from GanPro. He admits he doesn’t have the track record to deserve a title shot but he wants to challenge Mochizuki for the championship! Mochizuki listened to the positive response from the fans and also said he loves fighting young wrestlers. However just like he is doing it this year, he said he will close out GanPro’s final show in 2026 too!

There was some good fortune coming GanPro’s way because Touchable won the Spirit Of Ganbare World Tag Team Titles from the BASARA team, bringing the belts back to their home company. Yumehito Imanari & Shinichiro Tominaga didn’t have much time to celebrate with their newly won belts because Shuichiro Katsumura walked out and told them that he and Minoru Suzuki will challenge them for the titles on 11th January! Touchable believe they themselves are two wrestlers who have good (if perverted) personalities and that might be enough to beat the worst tempered wrestler in the world! Ryota Nakatsu & Takumi Tsukamoto do believe that the friendship between Imanari & Tominaga was what won them the belts in the end today. The BASARA team doesn’t have that and ended up asking each other what do that have? They guess it’s either the power of love or the power of evil.

The start of a busy period for Sareee kicked off with her visiting GanPro for a big match celebrating YuuRI’s five years in the wrestling business. While Sareee came out on tope, she also leaves the show feeling impressed with YuuRI’s growth. She thinks the five year point is an important time for a wrestler and believes YuuRI can reach even greater heights as long as she does not become complacent. YuuRI had mixed emotions after the match. She feels satisfied that her request to fight Sareee in a singles match came true but she knows she shouldn’t be satisfied from losing. She now considers Sareee to be a rival and is certain she can one day beat her.

Katsumura’s match with Akira Shoji had plenty of Japanese MMA flavour to it. Caol Uno was there in Shoji’s corner while Yuji Shimada served as the referee for the match. Katsumura got a definitive submission win over Shoji, enough to claim that GanPro has defeated PRIDE FC (and while we’re at it K’z FACTORY gym defeated Keishukai gym) and there will be no rematch! Shoji admitted he didn’t realize until during the match just how difficult pro wrestling can be and he felt Katsumura was always one step ahead of him. However he also liked how warm hearted the response of the GanPro fans was to him and he would like to try pro wrestling again. Watching Ken Ohka work so hard for GanPro has ignited his spirit as well, which is why he came to GanPro today.

Mahiro Kiryu lost the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title at the start of the show before her scheduled match could even begin. Yuna Manase rolled her up during the show opening call to become the new champ. Then in the 4 Way Tag Match, Ohka pinned Manase with the Spear Of Flame to win the title for himself. Kiryu then rolled up Ohka from behind, pinning her own tag partner to win the belt back. Meanwhile Takashi Sasaki told Manase they should continue teaming together despite losing the match.

At the start of the show Katsumura announced GanPro will be holding auditions for new trainees. Manase said there are no age restrictions and she in particular is looking for an apprentice.

6. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Chris Brookes, Antonio Honda & Takeshi Masada defeated Yuki Ueno, To-y & Kazuma Sumi when Masada pinned Sumi after the Praying Mantis Bomb from Brookes (19:38).

There are only a few matches left for Takeshi Masada in SCHADENFREUDE International before he leaves but today he showed he still has good teamwork with Chris Brookes & Antonio Honda. The rubber band spot was expanded into trapping The 37KAMIINA & Kazuma Sumi all together so they could have three separate bands all snapped into them at the same time. SCHADENFREUDE then used their teamwork to hit Sumi with Double Thrust Kicks before Brookes dropped him with the Praying Mantis Bomb for the victory. With two matches left in the unit, Masada spoke about how reluctant he is to leave but Honda told him they will always be connected somewhere.

Yuni was convinced by Danshoku Dieno to wear the Danshoku tights over his usual costume. Thankfully he didn’t go all the way into using Dieno’s moveset, instead relying on his own to win their tag match.

Order Of Elimination: HIMAWARI, Kaya Toribami, Kuishinbo Kamen, Hyper Misao, Ram Kaichow, Miyu Yamashita, Ryo Mizunami & Yuki Kamifuku, Kira Summer, Pom Harajuku, Shino Suzuki, Yuki Arai, Max The Impaler, Miu Watanabe, Arisu Endo, Raku, Mifu Ashida.
-. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title – Old Maid: Kakeru Sekiguchi defeated Rika Tatsumi (c) and Mahiro Kiryu (2:20).
*Kakeru Sekiguchi becomes the 1,792nd champion.
-. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Mahiro Kiryu defeated Kakeru Sekiguchi (c) with a Banana Peel Pin (13:10 pm).
*Mahiro Kiryu becomes the 1,793rd champion.

The final Tokyo Joshi Pro show of 2025 brought along the return of the Princess Rumble for its second edition. Last year’s winner Miu Watanabe couldn’t achieve the repeat thanks to Mizuki, Arisu Endo and Mifu Ashida all piling on top of her for the pinfall elimination. Ashida also used her pompoms to lure Max The Impaler into their elimination. Ram Kaichow, Ryo Mizunami and Kuishinbo Kamen all took part as the guest entrants but the finish came down to Mizuki pinning Ashida with the Cutie Special to win the whole thing. After the match Mizuki thanked the fans for supporting TJPW all year long because 2026 will be here in the blink of an eye. She invited the roster out to the ring and they all promised to give everyone wrestling that will make them look forward to tomorrow. Miyu Yamashita then led everyone in a ippon-jime clap to close out the show.

The last preview for the Princess Tag Team Titles match ended in favour of the challengers. Haru Kazashiro defeated Wakana Uehara, narrowly avoiding the Banana Pillow to instead pin her opponent with the Fisherman Suplex. Kazashiro brought up their last singles match against each other which was during last November’s Next Generation Tournament ’24. She’s now won two warm up matches in a row and wants to put all of this momentum into the tag titles match on 4th January. Uehara took the loss in her stride. Being a champion has made her stronger so she won’t be crying after losing matches anymore. The 4th January show is the first match of the year for everyone in TJPW so she really wants Ober Eats to successfully defend the belts against Shunrai Rekka!! Prism Greed next week.

The year ended with some Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title shenanigans going on throughout the show as well. Rika Tatsumi submitted the champion Mahiro Kiryu in a tag match to win the belt, then kicked away her tag partner Toga in an act of paranoia. Kiryu and Kakeru Sekiguchi later went looking for Tatsumi, chasing her into a locker room where HIMAWARI was alone eating a banana. They kicked her out and threw away the banana peel while Tatsumi suggested they play a card game of Old Maid to determine who should be champion. Sekiguchi won the game to become the new champ only to slip on the nearby banana peel while walking away and knock herself out. Kiryu quickly pinned her to become the Iron Man Champion again.

Four more teams were announced to take part in next Spring’s Max Heart Tournament. They are Kyoraku Kyomei, Bumping gRitters, Miyu Yamashita & Kaya Toribami and Yuki Arai & Mifu Ashida.

I’m Off To Tokyo For 2 Weeks

December 26, 2025

Almost ten years after my last visit to Japan, I’m a day away from flying back out there. Spending the new year in Tokyo and attending Wrestle Kingdom at the Tokyo Dome has been something I’ve wanted to do for over a decade but real life obligations prevented me from ever going through with it. Luckily for me, this time around everything has fallen into place for me to actually do it and the timing of it means I’m going to the biggest Wrestle Kingdom to happen in years. Not only that but the itinerary I’ve put together for this trip has become the mother of all wrestling holidays. Stardom at Sumo Hall? I’m going to that. NOAH in Budokan Hall? I’ll be there. DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro having their year opening events in Korakuen Hall? You bet I wouldn’t miss that for the world! Add in shows at Shinjuku FACE, Shin-Kiba 1st RING, TOKYO SQUARE In Itabashi and even Ichigaya Chocolate Hall it all ends up with me pretty much speed running all of the famous and infamous Tokyo wrestling venues within a fortnight.

As for what will get posted on this blog while I am gone? I honestly don’t know at the moment. I’m bringing my laptop with me and will at least post the match results when I can but show reports, up to date news and other stuff will likely be put on the wayside until I return home and get some rest. I did a small one for the DDT show I went to in Saitama back in 2016 (which you can read here). Same goes for any end of trip report where I talk about what the experience is like. Worrying about that sort of stuff would only get in the way while I’m trying to enjoy my holiday. What I’ll likely do is tweet about all the shows I’m going to so you might get not non-DDT and non-TJPW related stuff from me on your feeds for the next two weeks.

What I have done in preparation for this trip is take part in a podcast about it. I was invited onto Wrestling Omakase for a massive roundtable covering as many of the shows happening around Wrestle Kingdom and the New Year’s period as we could. My lion’s share of the recording is in Part 1 for the men’s companies where I talk about DDT, NJPW, NOAH and BASARA. Then I pop up for half an hour in Part 2 as part of the TJPW section. Only one of the two debuts planned for Ittenyon is now going ahead. The trainee Shion has taken on the name Shion Kanzaki for her first match. She is from Chiba and was born on 11th February, 2001. She is 156cm tall and was part of her high school’s kendo club. After she graduated from school she formed a band with friends where she was on guitar and vocals. The band split up though and she took on a regular office job until decided to take on pro wrestling because she’s been a fan of it since she was a child.

The other trainee Anri has been pulled from the same match after it was decided she isn’t in the right condition yet to go through with her debut. Both Uta Takami and Ren Konatsu were part of the match too so maybe it can still go ahead as a tag bout with a last minute fill in. Is Ryo Mizunami busy that day?

A last minute change to the card created a DNA Vs D GENERATIONS themed main event for DDT’s last visit to Shinjuku FACE for 2025. The veteran side ended up winning the match but offered support to the new blood since the next D GENERATIONS CUP tournament will begin in the new year. They see how hard the D GENERATIONS work together and it makes them want to work even harder just so they won’t get overtaken.

Takeshi Masada has made up his mind to leave SCHADENFREUDE International in the new year but right now he is still part of the group for a couple of more days. He and Chris Brookes were meant to team up today but the decision led to them having a singles match against each other instead. Antonio Honda wasn’t at the show so the ringside attendants like Hinata Kasai participated in the SCHADENFREUDE spots in his absence. Bunbun was there though and in an act that turned out to be more neutral than it looked, he interrupted the rubber band spot by cutting the band in half with a pair of scissors. The band was already stretched by this point so one half each ended up snapping into Brookes and Masada’s faces. Honda’s presence ended up being felt anyway when a voice of his started telling a Gongitsune joke while Brookes and Masada tried replicating the move on each other. Brookes ended up winning the match cleanly with the Praying Mantis Bomb. He told Masada he doesn’t understand why he is leaving SCHADENFREUDE but everyone in the group will always be each other’s family. He encouraged Masada to reach the top of DDT while everyone else cheers him on. Masada said he would like to continue being in the unit because he loves it so much but now is the time for him to go searching for his own style using his own abilities. SCHADENFREUDE will always be family to him and he hopes they will support him now as rivals.

Special rules were created for Match #5 because Akito wanted Danshoku Dieno to restrain himself from giving everyone kisses on Christmas Eve. Akito proposed that the match would ban kisses for the first five minutes then it would be allowed after that. Dieno called the rule unfair so he counter offered that once the ban is lifted, you will need to kiss your opponent before pinning or submitting them in order to win. Akito agreed and almost had his way when Kazuki Hirata nearly lost the match several times in the first five minutes. But he was able to kick out of Jun Akiyama’s pins. He also survived a Boston Crab from HARASHIMA while Akito was too busy tying his own shoelaces to break the hold. The five minutes ran out and with a shout of “Merry Christmas!” from the ring announcer, Dieno was allowed to kiss again. Everyone else now had to kiss their opponent before trying to win the match. Dieno’s counter plan almost backfired because he didn’t want to kiss Sanshiro Takagi even when the opportunity was there for him to win. Takagi ran in to kiss Dieno but missed and got HARASHIMA instead. The same mistake happened to Hinata Kasai but when it looked like it was going to happen to Akiyama, he gave Takagi the Exploder Suplex instead. HARASHIMA forgot about the rule but ended up remembering to kiss Hirata before pinning him with the Somato to win.

Kumadori got a long awaited measure of revenge on Ilusion when their delayed singles match finally took place. Ilusion targeted Kumadori’s legs but when that plan didn’t work he resorted to blatant cheating including a ref bump and a Low Blow. Kumadori blocked Ilusion from using a chair though and gave him a Low Blow of his own before pinning him with a Modified Cancun Tornado for the victory. He considers the feud between them done with and is looking forward to reaching the top next year both as a professional dancer with O-MENZ and as a pro wrestler with DDT. Ilusion said he wanted to beat Kumadori to protect DDT because he is the only person to notice O-MENZ are invading the company. He cannot believe that CyberFight is letting this crisis go unnoticed!

Before he leaves the unit on 3rd January, he’s going to face Chris Brookes one on one before he says goodbye.

DDT “MISSION IN BATTLE ~SHINSHUN KENRAN~”, 25/01/2026
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. KO-D Tag Team Titles: MAO & KANON (c) (w/ KIMIHIRO) Vs Yuki Iino & Yukio Naya
2. KO-D Openweight Title & DDT Universal Title – Irregular 3 Way Match: Yuki Ueno (c/c) Vs Daisuke Sasaki Vs Chris Brookes

The problem with having double the championships is you get double the challenges. Yuki Ueno has both Daisuke Sasaki and Chris Brookes wanting to fight him for championships next. Akito came up with a solution to do a 3 Way Match that will last for two falls. The first fall will be for the DDT Universal Title and the second will be for the KO-D Openweight Title!

The time has come for The Apex to try and take back the KO-D Tag Team Titles from Strange Love Connection. SLC won the belts from The Apex last month in Sumo Hall and MAO has been on Yuki Iino’s mind ever since. Yukio Naya and KANON have some singles match history together too.
