2. Mike Bailey & MAO defeated Kota Umeda & Yuki Iino when MAO pinned Iino after the Skylab Hurricance (10:21).
3. Keisuke Ishii defeated Yuki Ueno with the High Angle Double Arm DDT (12:31).
4. ALL OUT Vs DDT Now Variety Group!: Konosuke Takeshita, Akito & Shunma Katsumata defeated Danshoku Dieno, Makoto Oishi & Antonio Honda when Takeshita pinned Oishi with the Blue Dahlia (13:03).
5. 3 Way Tag Match: Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie defeated Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase and Kazusada Higuchi & Kouki Iwasaki when Paulie pinned Watase with the Paulie Buster (9:39).
*Mad Paulie wins Mizuki Watase’s Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Gauntlet.
6. Numazu Global Specialty! Special Tag Match: Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao defeated HARASHIMA & Masahiro Takanashi when Sasaki submitted Takanashi with the Cross Facelock (13:09).

Soma Takao came to Daisuke Sasaki’s rescue by preventing Masahiro Takanashi from hitting the Takatonic. Takao caught Takanashi mid move and lifted him into the Schwein. Sasaki then locked in the Cross Facelock for the win. After the match Sasaki publicly congratulated Kenny Omega for winning the IWGP Heavyweight Title in New Japan yesterday. He then bragged about DAMNATION beating HARASHIMA today without cheating or using weapons, proof that he and Takao can do the same in the upcoming DDT Extreme Title 3 Way Match.

There was more good news for DAMNATION today because Mad Paulie now has a Right To Challenge Gauntlet, winning it from Mizuki Watase. Sasaki wants Paulie to use it right away but Paulie either doesn’t want to or doesn’t understand how to. Watase blames only himself for losing the Gauntlet and giving Shigehiro Irie another surprise challenger to worry about. However Irie welcomes the extra chance to defend the KO-D Openweight Title somewhere down the line.

According to Danshoku Dieno, Makoto Oishi now has the power of marriage to make him stronger. So to encourage him, Dieno had wrestlers hand out headshots of Misaki Ohata to the audience to hold in the air while Oishi wrestled. Shunma Katsumata made Oishi angry when he took one of the photos and rubbed it against Dieno’s ass. Oishi gave Katsumata the Miracle Ecstasy for revenge but he was then pinned by Konosuke Takeshita with the Blue Dahlia Crucifix Bomb. After the match Takeshita admitted that Oishi was stronger than usual today. Akito wasn’t convinced that Oishi’s love for Ohata was genuine because Oishi’s first marriage fell apart when he hooked up with other women. Dieno came up with an idea. He grabbed one of the Ohata headshots and held it in front of Akito’s head facing Oishi. Dieno then told Oishi to speak to Akito as if he was Ohata. Oishi promised “Ohata” that won’t fool around with other women and will do whatever he can to make her happy. Oishi kissed the photo, pulled the photo away and then kissed Akito.

2. Toru Owashi & Riho defeated Masahiro Takanashi & Saki Akai when Owashi pinned Akai after the Somato from Riho (7:51).
3. Mike Bailey & MAO defeated Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase when Bailey pinned Watase after the Michinoku Tornado Driver (9:06).
*Mike Bailey wins one of Mizuki Watase’s Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Gauntlets.
4. Danshoku Dieno & Yoshihiko defeated Keisuke Ishii & Antonio Honda when Yoshihiko pinned Honda after the Danshoku Driver from Dieno (10:20).
5. Daisuke Sasaki, Soma Takao, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie defeated HARASHIMA, KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi when Sasaki pinned HARASHIMA with the Sasaki Hurricanrana (11:41).
6. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Daisuke Sekimoto & Kazusada Higuchi (c) defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata when Higuchi pinned Katsumata with the Doctor Bomb (19:44).
*V2 for SekiGuchi.

One of the recurring things to happen on “DDT LIVE! MAJI MANJI” is Kazusada Higuchi putting his opponents through tables. This week he got a taste of his own medicine when Shunma Katsumata dove off the entrance gate to crush Higuchi through a table! Daisuke Sekimoto and Konosuke Takeshita did German Suplexes to each other but the result came down to Higuchi pinning Katsumata with the Doctor Bomb. The KO-D Tag Team Champions were told afterwards that their next defence will be on the 26th June episode of Maji Manji against DAMNATION members Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie. This match takes place two days after Higuchi challenges for the KO-D Openweight Title.

Good news everyone! Mad Paulie learned new words, “oppai” and “chininko”. Also Daisuke Sasaki revealed he is healthy enough to wrestle again so he added himself to the DAMNATION Vs DDT Elder Brothers match, giving DAMNATION a 4 on 3 advantage. Masahiro Takanashi came out to even the odds and the match became 4 Vs 4. Once again cheating from DAMNATION was the reason for HARASHIMA losing the match. Sasaki used a chair to block the Somato then Soma Takao gave HARASHIMA a Low Blow. Sasaki pinned him with the Hurricanrana afterwards. Sasaki told Soma and Endo that he heard a rumour about them not getting along and encouraged the two to kiss and make up. Endo took it literally puckered up for a kiss but Soma stayed quiet and left the ring.

Ken Ohka appeared at the show to learn what the Punishment Match he earned last week was going to be. Producer Danshoku Dieno told him that on the 26th June episode of Maji Manji, Ohka will take on the 19 year old kickboxing phenom Tenshin Nasukawa! This kid has been competing for four years and currently has a 26-0 pro record. Dieno knows how much Ohka wants to be a major sports player so this pro wrestling versus kickboxing match will be perfect for him. Ohka tried to convince everyone that this isn’t a punishment match and he is excited for it.

Antonio Honda literally tied Yoshihiko into knots during their match. Yoshihiko recovered and hit a big Sasuke Special to both Honda & Keisuke Ishii outside the ring. Yoshihiko stunned Honda with a Lip Lock which allowed Dieno to give him the Danshoku Driver. Dieno then pulled Yoshihiko on top of Honda for the pin.

Mizuki Watase’s time with two Right To Challenge Gauntlets was short lived. Mike Bailey pinned him today to win the rights of the black gauntlet. Both Bailey & MAO want to cash in the gauntlet at the 24th June show in Korakuen Hall for a KO-D Tag Title match. It had to be explained to them that the gauntlet is only used for KO-D Openweight Title shots.

Yesterday Riho celebrated her 21st birthday. HARASHIMA gave her a unique gift, permission to write “Somato” in kanji. Both wrestlers use the Somato as their finishing move but Riho’s version was previously written in hiragana (そうまとう). Now that she is an adult she gets to write it in kanji (蒼魔刀). During today’s tag match, Toru Owashi attempted to do La Magistral Cradle on Saki Akai. Takanashi gave Owashi a Thrust Kick and Akai rolled Owashi into a School Boy. Riho stopped the pin by hitting the Somato on Akai and Owashi was able to pin Akai to win the match.

Akito called out Kota Umeda for failing to defend the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles over the last two months. Earlier in the show it was confirmed that ALL OUT would be challenging Umeda, Yuki Ueno & Koji Takeda for the titles on 24th June. Umeda changed the subject by promoting his match next week with Masato Takana. He was interrupted by Makoto Oishi who wanted to fight him over who the real star of Maji Manji should be. Umeda ignored him.

3. Yuki Iino Return Match – Yuki Iino Knock On Series Round 2: Konosuke Takeshita defeated Yuki Iino with the German Suplex (10:27).
4. Koji Kanemoto & Mizuki Watase defeated Mike Bailey & MAO when Watase pinned MAO with the Tiger Suplex (11:43).
*Mizuki Watase wins MAO’s Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Gauntlet.
5. Ryota Nakatsu defeated Kouki Iwasaki with the Crescent Moon (14:19).
6. Akito & Shunma Katsumata defeated Keisuke Okuda & Akira Jo when Katsumata pinned Okuda with the ¡Hasta la vista! (15:03).
7. Kota Umeda defeated Naomi Yoshimura with the Umeda Driver (17:00).

Kota Umeda cements his place at the top of DNA with a decisive victory over Naomi Yoshimura. He overcame everything Yoshimura threw at him including a chairshot that was done to block Umeda’s Tope Con Hilo. Umeda found a counter for Yoshimura’s Power Bombs at almost every opportunity. On offence, Umeda’s kicks and knee strikes chipped away at Yoshimura until he fell to the Umeda Driver. After the match Umeda called out Yoshimura for trying to take over DNA during his absence. Then when Umeda came back, Yoshimura had the Naomi Kingdom backing him up. It took months of waiting but they were finally able have their match and end their conflict today. Umeda offered to shake Yoshimura’s hand. Yoshimura wanted to resist but he conceded defeat and accepted it before leaving with the rest of the Kingdom. Umeda ended the show by telling the fans that a good wave is coming to DNA and he is looking forward to seeing everyone at the next couple of DNA shows this summer.

The other Naomi Kingdom members also lost their match today to ALL OUT. An ambush at the venue’s stairway where the wrestlers entered through gave Keisuke Okuda & Akira Jo the advantage at first. But Akito & Shunma Katsumata persisted until they found their opening. Katsumata kept Okuda in the ring and stunned him with a Buzzsaw Kick before getting the three count with the ¡Hasta la vista! Lightning Spiral.

Ryota Nakatsu returned to DNA to beat Kouki Iwasaki. That result isn’t the end of their rivalry. Now Iwasaki wants to return the favour and go have a match in BASARA! Nakatsu is open to the idea but isn’t sure if Iwasaki has the guts to go by himself like he did today.

Things are looking good for Mizuki Watase. Today’s win means he now has two Right To Challenge Gauntlets in his possession! He likes the idea of collecting all of them so maybe he will chase after the three remaining ones. Also Koji Kanemoto enjoyed teaming with him so much that he wants to do it again.

Yuki Iino returned to action with a hard hitting match against Konosuke Takeshita. Iino’s big moves were Spears and rugby tackles. He also got into chop battles but his momentum was cut short with a Lariat. Takeshita put him away with the German Suplex. Iino was disappointed with the loss but he felt comfortable handling the pressure of fighting one of DDT’s main eventers.

For almost 30 minutes both Konosuke Takeshita and Antonio Honda fought their hearts out in front of the Osaka crowd. The main event was a Happy Motels reunion with Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi and Yasu Urano accompanying Honda to the ring while Takeshita came out to the Happy Motels entrance theme. Honda acted sentimental when he did his “Gon, The Little Fox” spot, telling Takeshita and the others that if this becomes his last match he does not want it to end. Honda then poked Takeshita in the eyes and hit a Topé Suicida after Takeshita rolled out of the ring to recover. Honda threw many punches and Bionic Elbows to combat against Takeshita’s Lariats. When Takeshita countered a Sleeper Hold into a Blue Thunder Bomb 25 minutes in the match it was clear that both were tired. They narrowly avoided a double countout and continued hitting their big moves until the match devolved into duelling Bionic Elbows. The ended in another double knockdown with Yukinori Matsui beginning to count both of them out again. Takeshita made it to his feet in time but Honda couldn’t. That was enough for Matsui to end the match and declare Takeshita the winner by KO. After the match Takeshita talked about going to see his brother’s high school soccer game earlier in the day. It made him think about his own high school days and he realised he spent all of his time outside of school with wrestlers like Honda, Urano and Hiroshi. That time of his life was a happy won because he was wrestling in Happy Motels. There was only one thing about it he didn’t like and that was never getting the chance to wrestle a meaningful match with Honda. He got that today. Honda thanked Takeshita for the match and said he was glad to wrestle him for 30 minutes today.

Shigehiro Irie Vs Magnitude Kishiwada immediately started with a ringside brawl. Kishiwada attacked Irie with a chair, targeting Irie’s arms whenever he could. Kishiwada continued the heavy attacks by doing the Last Ride and the Diving Body Press plus more chairshots. Irie fought back with a Death Valley Bomb as well as Beast Bombers to counter Kishiwada’s Lariats. The Beast Bombers as well as the Cannonball Drop wore down Kishiwada until one more Beast Bomber kept him down for the three count. After the match Irie said he wanted to become a pro wrestler after watching figures like Kishiwada and Kengo Takai compete all over Osaka. Irie not only achieved his dream but he is also now the KO-D Openweight Champion. However, Irie is still not satisfied. There are still many things he must learn to become stronger and stronger. Irie asked Kishiwada to plese fight him again some day. Kishiwada told him they had a good match today and he shook his hand. He then told Irie to defend the KO-D Title many times so he can become Osaka’s strongest wrestler!

Kikutaro, Kuishinbo Kamen and Super Sasadango Machine all found ways to get Matsui involved in their match. Sasadango had Kamen pinned after a Diving Knee Drop but Kikutaro grabbed Sasadango’s leg and applied a Crab Hold to make him submit.

Naomi Yoshimura said he experienced a similar feeling from wrestling Dick Togo to the one he got when he wrestled Akebono.

The usual unmasking tricks by Hiratimo Dragon made Yuni cry when he was disqualified for it. Makoto Oishi tried to cheer him up but it was a trap! Yuni caught him in a Small Package and pinned him to win the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. Later at the end of the show Saki Akai encouraged Yuni to join her in the ring to say goodbye to the fans. That too was a trap for Akai to win the belt from Yuni. Oishi came back out, pinned Akai to take back the title and ran off. The show then closed with Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi singing to the audience.

Turns out Akito’s recovery time was a short one. He was back in action competing in the opener and even got the winning pinfall. He made fun of Shunma Katsumata for only signing up for the standard membership at Gold’s Gym instead of the Master membership. While Katsumata is preparing to go after the KO-D Tag Team Titles, Akito personally wants to challenge for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles.

Matsui wanted to give out the opening announcements but Hisaya Imabayashi wouldn’t let him. Yuki Iino was ordered to hold Matsui back in the corner while Imabayashi finished the segment.

Isami Kodaka, Shunma Katsumata, Meiko Satmoura and Cassandra Miyagi have been added to the show. Every match is planned to be a trios match with two men and one woman on every team. The only confirmed team so far is Satomura joining Sanshiro Takagi & Ippanjin Munenori Sawa. Their team name is Hentai Sendai Big Boss. Satomura isn’t thrilled with the name. The reason this show is taking place is because Toshimaen holds a dark secret. By day it is an amusement park but by night it transforms into a fighter training facility. The facility exists to develop a champion for Japan to enter the Fighting World Cup held every four years. Takagi claims that he has the management rights for Japan’s entry this year and put this show together to find his champion.

9. Special Single Match ~Heart~: Konosuke Takeshita Vs Antonio Honda

DDT held a press conference backstage in Korakuen Hall after “AUDIENCE 2018” ended to promote this show. Yukinori Matsui commented on all of the matches because he is organising the show as the link between DDT and the Osaka wrestling scene. He put together the Shigehiro Irie Vs Magnitude Kishiwada match because of their interactions in last year’s “DRAMATIC DREAMS!” show. Bad blood still exists between the two and that was shown when they had a chair duel in front of everyone. Kuishinbo Kamen also interviewed Super Sasadango Machine from the front row. Finally, Konosuke Takeshita and Antonio Honda spoke about their upcoming match against each other. Takeshita feels free as a bird now that he no longer has the pressures of defending the KO-D Openweight Title. However the downside of that is he has nothing to connect with and feels kind of aimless right now. Honda values freedom in pro wrestling and hopes to teach that lesson to Takeshita.

Injuries have caused some changes in the card. Yuki Ueno hasn’t recovered so Naomi Yoshimura takes his place in the match against Dick Togo. Also Shoichi Uchida broke his heel back in April and has not recovered in time to wrestle on this show. The good news is Akito has recovered from his injury and gets his first match back here.

1. KO-D Openweight Title Next Challenger Decision & Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Rumble: X Vs X

The crazy rumble is back. Several prizes will be on the line including a guaranteed KO-D Title shot on 24th June. The other prize is the Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Gauntlet. It works exactly like the Money In The Bank briefcase in WWE but there is the added condition that whoever owns the gauntlet has to defend it in every match they appear in until they cash in their title shot. There are usually several gauntlets up for grabs and that leads to a wave of gauntlet switches from wrestler to wrestler throughout the summer. It’s a handy way to make the lesser DDT shows more eventful to follow.

-. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Saki Akai defeated Nobuhiro Shimatani (c) with a Big Boot (2:22 pm).
*Saki Akai becomes the 1,302nd champion.

The reign of Konosuke Takeshita is over! Shigehiro Irie is back at the top of DDT as the new KO-D Openweight Champion, recapturing the belt over four years and eight months since he last held it. It marks the end of a bizarre return for Irie. He disappeared from DDT for months because it no longer resembled the DDT that he loved then he returned with the goal of winning the title. The challenger quickly hit a Topé Suicida after the match started then he threw Takeshita into the corner posts. Takeshita got his own back by giving Irie a Back Drop onto the ring apron. Back in the ring Takeshita applied a Cross Arm Camel Clutch to wear down Irie. In return, Irie used a Tazzmission as his submission hold of choice. He also hit a Black Hole Slam, a Vertical Drop Death Valley Driver and the Beast Bomber to deal a lot of damage to the champion. Takeshita dropped Irie with the Surprise Rose but couldn’t get over fast enough to pin him. Takeshita then gave Irie a German Suplex for a nearfall. Takeshita went for another one but Irie bit onto the top rope to stop it. A Sliding Elbow from Irie was turned into the Cross Arm German Suplex but Irie again kicked out. A Beast Bomber knocked Takeshita for a loop and he was down long enough for Irie to hit the Diving Cannonball Drop. With victory in his sights, Irie bounced back and forth from the ropes and struck Takeshita with one last Beast Bomber. That was it. Takeshita’s record breaking title reign has come to an end!

Emotional over the result, Takeshita grabbed the title belt from Irie after the match. However it was so he could place it over Irie’s shoulder. Irie called Takeshita a wonderful champion. He was pleased that two wrestlers who last fought each other on the pre-show now had their match in the main event. Irie said when he came back to DDT he thought he was on his own. But today he got a lot of cheers from the audience and he also has Mizuki Watase and Jason Kincaid as his friends. He was in the middle of talking when Keisuke Ishii entered the ring carrying the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title he won yesterday. Ishii had been thinking of his track record against Irie ever since Irie came back. Because of this Ishii wants a title shot. Irie accepted and told Ishii that their win-loss record against each other doesn’t mean much. After all, Irie went missing for months and is now the KO-D Champion after only a few matches back. Irie then said his only friends in DDT now are Watase and Kincaid. Irie Vs Ishii for the title will be at the 20th May show in Korakuen Hall. Backstage, Irie said his vision for DDT is to make it more open. He wants to go to many places around the world as the champion.

HARASHIMA went into his DDT Extreme Title shot wearing new ring gear. It was a special match after all. He and his friend Yuko Miyamoto were wrestling against each other one on one. No extra stipulations were added by Miyamoto so it was a regular wrestling match, an unusual decision in regards to the championship’s purpose. HARASHIMA hurt his foot during the match which gave Miyamoto something to target. Their usual moves weren’t enough to beat each other so both of them then used each other’s attacks! Miyamoto hit the Somato while HARASHIMA did a Fire Thunder. After that switch around they went back to their own moveset. HARASHIMA kicked out of the Fire Thunder and hit the Somato to become the new Extreme Champion! HARASHIMA thanked Miyamoto for putting together the match and he was so happy to fight his best against him. HARASHIMA was told by Hisaya Imabayashi that his first defence will be on 13th May in Hakata. Imabayashi asked if there was anybody that HARASHIMA wanted to defend the belt against. HARASHIMA said yes. He wants to face KUDO! He lost to KUDO in a big singles match last September and he wants to get revenge for it. KUDO accepted the challenge and told HARASHIMA the result will be the same.

When KUDO went away, HARASHIMA was left in the ring with the rest of Smile Squash: Miyamoto, Soma Takao and Yasu Urano. In the build up to their match, Miyamoto temporarily left Smile Squash with the intention of rejoining afterwards no matter the result. However Miyamoto isn’t satisfied with the loss and is determined to beat HARASHIMA some day. He can’t be in the same unit as HARASHIMA for that to happen so Miyamoto has decided to leave Smile Squash for good. Urano tried to stop Miyamoto but then he had a change of heart. Urano has been a freelancer for a year and while he still had a comfortable spot in Smile Squash, there are so many new things for him to do elsewhere. Urano decided that he too will leave Smile Squash. Both Miyamoto and Urano left the ring and HARASHIMA was alone with Soma Takao. Takao said that as much as he wants to stop them from leaving, he knows he can’t. However he is staying in Smile Squash with HARASHIMA so they can continue fighting together as a duo. The moment was interrupted when DAMNATION came down to the ring. Daisuke Sasaki handed a DAMNATION T-shirt to HARASHIMA and welcomed him to the group. Sasaki announced that HARASHIMA was a traitor to DDT and the newest member of DAMNATION! HARASHIMA looked puzzled and had no idea what Sasaki was talking about. Sasaki then shouted he would betray HARASHIMA and DAMNATION attacked the champion. Takao easily saved HARASHIMA from a beating and sent DAMNATION fleeing. HARASHIMA said there was so many things going on that he is now confused but whatever is going on he will do his best.

Cherry was given a hero’s farewell for her final match as a DDT wrestler. For the match she teamed with Francoise☆Takagi & Masako Oishi (both taking the places of Sanshiro Takagi & Makoto Oishi). to take on Danshoku Dino, KUDO & Masahiro Takanashi. It started off with some fun when Cherry, Takagi & Oishi struck a pose together and shouted out “Fantasy Illusion”. But then KUDO decided not to hold back his kicks to Cherry. Dino also didn’t shy away from using lewd moves on her like the Danshoku Nightmare. Cherry fought back and hit the Cherryton Bomb on KUDO. She also countered the Danshoku Driver into the Fantasy Illusion cradle for a nearfall. It all went wrong for Cherry when she accidentally hit both of her partners. Takagi pulled his wig off in anger and hit Cherry. Oishi then gave Cherry the Miracle Ecstasy. Dino ended the match by giving Cherry the Danshoku Driver. After the match everyone thanked Cherry. Even though she is becoming a freelancer, she will always be a part of DDT. Cherry said she has spent the last 14 years as part of DDT and Union Pro. She had a lot of experiences and got to wrestle so many wonderful colleagues. She was given a bouquet of flowers from Takagi and everyone got together for a group photo.

Jason Kincaid & Mizuki Watase were both out to impress in the 3 Way Tag Match, although in different ways. Watase entered the ring wearing a black suit and wrestled in everything but the jacket. Kincaid went all out with a Diamond Dust through the ropes on Tetsuya Endo outside the ring. He then climbed the steel pole while Watase positioned Shunma Katsumata for him with a Back Drop. Watase leapt off the post and hit the Diving Double Stomp on Katsumata to win the match. In the backstage interview Watase said that Kincaid is a gift sent to DDT from Irie. Together all three of them will make a new history for DDT when Irie breaks the old history.

Yuki Ueno scored a massive victory when he pinned Kazusada Higuchi in a tag team match. It looked bleak when Higuchi gave him a Choke Slam but Ueno recovered a caught Higuchi with a Frankensteiner to nab the three count.

Everybody except for Kazuki Hirata agreed to add a Loser Leaves Japan stipulation for whoever got pinned in the 8-Man Tag Match. Hirata tried not to get involved in the match but Yukio Sakaguchi stopped him from escaping. Meanwhile MAO overpowered Antonio Honda’s “Gon, The Little Fox” attack by changing his shape into a heart symbol with both of their hands together. MAO & Mike Bailey wiped everyone out with a Double Moonsault outside the ring. Sakaguchi then pinned Hirata with the PK. Hirata refused to leave the ring and then his “Tokyo GO!” music began to play. Yuki Iino came out dressed in a makeshift Hirata costume. He danced to the ring, lifted Hirata from the canvas lowered him onto a group of wrestlers outside. Hirata was then carried away from ringside by the mob.

When Hirata was gone, DDT immediately announced the debut of two masked wrestlers for tomorrow’s show in Mie. Please welcome Takatimo Dragon & Hiratimo Dragon!

In the first match of his trial series, Kota Umeda went face to face with Go Shiozaki. Umeda took all the chops he could and fired back with Middle Kicks. He wore down Shiozaki as much as he could but a Lariat was the start of his downfall. Umeda was able to kick out of a Fisherman Buster but he was put away with the Gowan Lariat. Shiozaki thanked Umeda afterwards and said he would like to fight him again. Umeda then learned his next opponent in the series will be against Ryuji Ito in a Hardcore Match on 8th May! Umeda accepts that he lost the first match but he will do anything to win the Hardcore Match.

Mad Paulie’s strength continues to be too powerful for his opponents to handle on the pre-show matches. He flattened Kouki Iwasaki with a Lou Thesz Press, got a nearfall with a Fisherman Suplex then won with the Reverse Splash.

During the post-show clean up, Nobuhiro Shimatani attacked Super Sasadango Machine behind the stage entrance and pinned him to win the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. He ran down to the ring to celebrate until Saki Akai went after him and kicked him in the face with a Big Boot. Akai pinned Shimatani to become the new champion then ran away. She had an interview backstage and said from now on she will avoid people dressed in striped clothing because they could be referees.

Akito spoke about the tendon injury in his right arm. He went back and forth on with his doctor over whether he should get an operation. Akito decided not to get surgery because it is possible for him to return to wrestling sooner if his just lets his arm heal. He doesn’t know how long the recovery time will take and he apologised to the fans because he cannot guarantee how long his absence will take.

Masahiro Takanashi will be producing the DDT show in Tokyo Ryogoku KFC Hall on 8th July. The main event will be Takanashi Vs Isami Kodaka.

Akito suffered a ruptured biceps tendon in his right arm during last Sunday’s main event. He is expected to miss several months. With this injury the card for “MAX BUMP 2018” has been changed around not just to accommodate his absence but also to feature a debuting foreign wrestler.

Shigehiro Irie promised to bring over a friend of his from America to DDT. The only hint he gave was by calling his friend “The Gift”. It has since been announced that Jason Kincaid is coming to DDT. Kincaid is a 14 year veteran and had a lengthy 5 year reign as the NWA Southeastern Heavyweight Champion. Kincaid will be teaming with the person who seems to be Irie’s only friend left in DDT, Mizuki Watase as part of a 3 Way Tag. That match replaces the originally planned ALL OUT Vs DAMNATION tag team bout that Akito was meant to be in.

The DDT Extreme Title match will just be a regular pro wrestling match with no extra stipulations added. Yuko Miyamoto made this decision because he has never had a proper one on one match with his friend. He strongly wants to find out if he can beat HARASHIMA under a normal ruleset.

4. KUDO & Keisuke Ishii defeated HARASHIMA & Soma Takao when Ishii pinned Takao with a Frankensteiner (10:12).
5. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title – DDT Nagano Sales Manager Toru Owashi Local Triumph! “Owashi And Funny Friends Part 3” Special 6-Man Tag Match: Toru Owashi, Kazuki Hirata & Yuki Ueno defeated Danshoku Dino, Makoto Oishi & Super Sasadango Machine (c) when Hirata pinned Sasadango with a Brainbuster (2:02).
*Kazuki Hirata becomes the 1,299th champion.
5a. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title – Replay: Danshoku Dino, Makoto Oishi & Super Sasadango Machine defeated Toru Owashi, Kazuki Hirata (c) & Yuki Ueno when Sasadango pinned Hirata with the Triangle of Zenkoji (10:24).
*Super Sasadango Machine becomes the 1,300th champion.
6. Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Akito when Irie pinned Akito with the Beast Bomber (16:38).

Shigehiro Irie’s momentum since coming back continues to grow and now it’s finding its way over to Mizuki Watase. Irie’s new partner threw Konosuke Takeshita away with a German Suplex while Irie hit Akito with the Beast Bomber. After the match Irie said he won the match thanks to Watase’s effort. Watase pointed out that the last time he wrestled in Nagano he promised the fans he would return as a champion. That didn’t happen but he has become stronger and he wasn’t going to give up! Irie & Watase were given a prize pack of red wine by the show sponsors for the victory. After the show, Irie promised to be at the top of DDT and Watase will grow into a stronger wrestler with him. Irie then said he was bringing a friend from America over to Japan soon. He calls his friend “The Gift”.

Since the show was in Nagano that meant Toru Owashi was the big attraction in his hometown. Super Sasadango Machine took advantage of this by gathering together a portion of the audience to mob Owashi for handshakes and autographs outside the ring during the match. Owashi was too busy handling his fans to wrestle but his team still won the match. Kazuki Hirata pinned Sasadango to win the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title for the finish. Hisaya Imabayashi hated the result because the big star who sold most of the tickets didn’t get to do anything even though his side won. Imabayashi demanded the match to restart. Owashi did get to wrestle this time but Sasadango pinned Hirata to win back the Iron Man Title. Sasadango won with the Triangle Of Zenkoji, a team-up version of the Lehmann Shock.

Keisuke Ishii promoted his upcoming match against Ken Ohka for the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title on the 28th April Ganbare☆Wrestling show. KUDO didn’t have any of the other Shuten-dōji members with him today to drink with so he asked Ishii to join him for a toast. Ishii agreed and drank from a bottle of tea.

Kazusada Higuchi described Kota Umeda’s moves as intense during the 4 Way Match. He talked about feeling electricity run through his whole body whenever Umeda Kicked him. To Higuchi that is an amazing experience that makes him nostalgic for their matches together in DNA. Higuchi is looking forward to defending the KO-D Tag Team Titles against Umeda soon. Umeda thinks he has momentum but MAO needs to be with him on the same level if they are going to win the titles.

5. 4 Way Tag Match: KUDO & Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata, HARASHIMA & Soma Takao and Daisuke Sasaki & Shuji Ishikawa when Sakaguchi submitted Katsumata with an Arm Triangle Hold (11:06).
6. DDT Extreme Title – Ladder Match: Yuko Miyamoto (c) defeated Mike Bailey when Miyamoto grabbed the title belt (15:11).
*V3 for Yuko Miyamoto.
7. Special Single Match: Shigehiro Irie defeated Akito with the Beast Bomber (14:20).

After disappearing off the face of the earth for a few months, Shigehiro Irie is back in DDT to win the KO-D Openweight Title. Standing in his way was Akito who was determined not to let Irie get what he wants after he abandoned the company. Irie overpowered Akito’s submissions and crushed him with a Diving Cannonball before getting the win with the Beast Bomber.

After the match Irie spotted Konosuke Takeshita sitting at the commentary table and demanded he get in the ring. Irie then challenged Takeshita to a KO-D Title match. Takeshita reminded Irie about the dark match they had in Korakuen Hall together in 2015. Takeshita has never forgotten about it and he will continue to be the champion. Producer Danshoku Dino showed up and gave his opinion about Irie. He does not care if Irie wants to break up DDT. All that matters is if Irie creates something new to take its place if he becomes the champion. Whether it is Takeshita or Irie on top, either future is something that Dino wants to see. The title match will take place on 29th April.

The DDT Extreme Title was hung above the ring for a Ladder match between Yuko Miyamoto and Mike Bailey. The ladder wasn’t the only dangerous object used in the match. A pile of chairs were stacked up as a creative substitute when a ladder wasn’t available but it just collapsed beneath them. When the ladder was brought in Miyamoto and Bailey went to town with crazy bumps. Miyamoto knocked Bailey off the ladder onto another one suspended against the ropes and was free to pull down the title belt. Miyamoto called Bailey a crazy wrestler then nominated his buddy HARASHIMA as the next challenger on 29th April. Their last singles match against each other happened 13 years ago in Triple Six.

Shuten-dōji bounced back from their Sumo Hall defeat by winning the 4 Way Tag Match. It got a bit crazy in the finishing stretch. Takeshita gave KUDO the German Suplex, Daisuke Sasaki gave Takeshita the Hurricanrana, Soma Takao hit Sasaki with a Thrust Kick, Shuji Ishikawa gave Takao the Fire Thunder, Yukio Sakaguchi hit Ishikawa with the Right Knee Of God then Shunma Katsumata caught a High Kick and gave Sakaguchi a Sit Down Power Bomb. Sakaguchi moved out of the way from Katsumata’s Moonsault and locked him into a Triangle Choke with a Kimura also applied to win. Masahiro Takanashi said that everyone in Shuten-dōji are starving for a drink and KUDO called today an exciting start for their next story.

Not sure how much I can write about the North America Vs Japan 6-Man Tag without getting this site blocked by web filters. Colt Cabana & Joey Ryan tricked Ethan Page into starting the match with Dino. Cabana got the crowd to chant “Okama Ichiban!” after they won.

Sanshiro Takagi & Toru Owashi were given the task of banishing a wrestler from DDT to keep the roster from overflowing. For weeks DDT wrestlers were selected based on negative and questionable qualities and today it was up to them to fight for their survival. Takagi & Owashi sat by a desk in the ring while everyone wrestled around them. Anyone who could pin an opponent or impress the judges would be spared and could leave the match. One by one the ring whittled down until Kazuki Hirata was the last wrestler left. The match turned into a 2 Vs 1 Handicap Match between Takagi & Owashi against Hirata. Takagi gave Hirata the Sit Down Himawari Bomb but from out of nowhere all of the other wrestlers rolled Hirata onto him and all piled up on top for the pin! Per the rules of the match, Takagi is now banished from DDT!

Takagi protested and tried to convince everyone it was only an April Fool’s joke. Owashi wouldn’t have any of it. He told Takagi he had to accept the stipulation. Takagi refused to leave and clung on to the bottom turnbuckle. Yuki Iino came out dressed as a sexy policeman and he lifted Takagi over to other wrestlers so they could carry him towards his banishment. DDT then announced that Francoise☆Takagi from T2HiJoshi will return on 29th April.

In the first match of his five match series, Gota Ihashi lost to Koji Kanemoto. Ihashi had the chance to win with the Moonsault but he missed and Kanemoto tapped him out with the Anklelock. Kanemoto motivated Ihashi to stand back up and cheered him up. It turns out Kanemoto also hates Riki Choshu! He encouraged Ihashi to continue the trial and if he needs to get stronger, Kanemoto will be there for him.

The new KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions went up against former champions and all of them came from DNA. The finish to that match came with Yuki Ueno hitting Mizuki Watase with a Missile Dropkick, Koju Takeda did the Hurricane Driver and Kota Umeda got the pin with the Umeda Driver. The champions haven’t decided when to hold their first defence yet.

Rekka focused his gameplan around an Elbow Stike move called the Taiwan Elbow. However it wasn’t enough to beat Tomomitsu Matsunaga.

DDT provided a few April Fool announcements at the start of the show. Their new logo is the inspiration for a brand new mascot, a wrestler who wears the logo as a mask. The second joke is DDT’s video team is busy doing nothing in regards to their “BETAMANIA” show on 23rd April. The final joke was a special Gota Ihashi brochure going on sale that costs 150,000 yen.

DDT is working with C.A.MOBILE to redesign DDT’s official websites and services. The plan is to merge the website, the fan club and DDT UNIVERSE into one service with different pricing tiers.

Irie Returns, Challenges Takeshita, Gets Grudge Match With Akito

March 27, 2018

DDT “APRIL FOOL 2018”, 01/04/2018
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Gota Ihashi 5 Match Series – 1st Battle: Gota Ihashi Vs Koji Kanemoto
2. Japan-US Gay Wrestling Summit! 2018: Danshoku Dino, Super Sasadango Machine & Makoto Oishi Vs Colt Cabana, Joey Ryan & Ethan Page
3. Kota Umeda, Yuki Ueno & Koji Takeda Vs Kazusada Higuchi, Kouki Iwasaki & Mizuki Watase
4. Loser Expulsion Match: Sanshiro Takagi & Toru Owashi Vs Tetsuya Endo, Mad Paulie, Keisuke Ishii, Masahiro Takanashi, Saki Akai, Kazuki Hirata, MAO & Antonio Honda
5. 4 Way Tag Match: Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata Vs HARASHIMA & Soma Takao Vs Daisuke Sasaki & Shuji Ishikawa Vs KUDO & Yukio Sakaguchi
6. DDT Extreme Title: Yuko Miyamoto (c) Vs Mike Bailey
7. Special Single Match: Shigehiro Irie Vs Akito

The aftermath of “JUDGEMENT 2018” is all about the controversial return of Shigehiro Irie. He vanished from DDT at the end of 2017 and I assumed at the time he was going on another one of his wrestling trips to America. However there was no sign he was ever in the country during that time and he kept himself mostly quiet on social media save for a “Like” notification here and there. He reappeared at the end of “JUDGEMENT 2018” to challenge Konosuke Takeshita for the KO-D Openweight Title.

Irie has since spoken about his actions. During his time away he considered quitting DDT because it was no longer the same DDT he loved. But he doesn’t want to throw away everything he has worked so hard for. The most important thing in his life is the KO-D Title and he wants to win it again.

The one person who was vocal about Irie’s behaviour when he disappeared is Akito. He lost all respect for Irie when he again ran away from his problems. He hates the idea of Irie getting the shot as if nothing ever happened. Takeshita said he would like to see both of them wrestle each other so Irie Vs Akito will take place at this Sunday’s return to Korakuen Hall. Of course Akito would like to get the title shot but this match isn’t about that. It’s about him dealing with Irie’s childish behaviour.

DDT “MAX BUMP 2018”, 29/04/2018
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) Vs X

DDT is getting back to regular KO-D Title defences after it was put aside in the first quarter of the year for the D-Ou Grand Prix as well as the “JUDGEMENT 2018” build up. Takeshita is confident he can continue his strong title reign. He has held the title for 371 days and recorded 11 successful defences in that time. He wants to rewrite all of the championship’s records so he is happy to be the youngest champion ever, have the most defences ever and the longest reign ever. All that’s left for him is to be the oldest champion ever but Takeshita has to wait at least 20 years to achieve that. He’ll leave it up to the fans to decide if he is the ace but he intends to stay in the main event forever.

Takeshita would like his next challenger to be the winner of the Irie Vs Akito match. That is not the official stipulation of the 1st April bout but it is most likely going to happen. Jiro Kuroshio has also spoke of his desire to face Takeshita again in a rematch of their Grand Prix meeting. However it is currently unknown if DDT is much of a priority for Kuroshio right now.
