1. Falls Count Anywhere Tag Match: Yuki Ueno & MAO defeated Sanshiro Takagi & Hideki Okatani when MAO pinned Okatani with the Michinoku Driver II onto the Bench Press Stand (22:28).
DDT was invited to hold a Rojo Pro Wrestling match inside a Nagoya Fitness Shop, one day before “DRAMATIC EXPLOSION 2021”. The match started off normally with Yuki Ueno and Hideki Okatani exchanging holds. But once MAO and Sanshiro Takagi took part things went wacky real quick. Takagi grabbed the arms off the store’s display mannequin to use as weapons. The four then began fighting out of the shop and down the hallway over to nearby stores. MAO threw Takagi down a stairway and then dragged him into an elevator with Okatani. Ueno was left on his own so he talked to the spectators until the elevator returned with MAO being stretched by his opponents. The match returned to the fitness shop straight into the men’s restroom.
After that unintentional bathroom break, the wrestlers all grabbed blank art canvasses and decided to draw pictures of each other. Ueno and Okatani then used the running machines while fighting each other until both slipped off. Takagi grabbed the mannequin arm and charged in for a Lariat. Unfortunately MAO ducked and Okatani got hit instead. Takagi then got trapped under a workout machine. Ueno used the same machine to swing into a Hurricanrana to Okatani. MAO grabbed a kettlebell but Okatani stopped him from dropping it on top of Takagi. The art canvasses were broken over everyone’s heads and this time MAO was able to drop the kettlebell on Takagi. Ueno took out a bench press and MAO slammed Okatani onto it with the Michinoku Driver II for the win.

8. Special 6-Man Tag Match ~ DDT Vs BJW: Konosuke Takeshita, Yuki Ueno & MAO Vs Yuji Okabayashi, Yuya Aoki & Kosuke Sato
Earlier this week Konosuke Takeshita was given the Fighting Spirit Award from Tokyo Sports as part of the annual Tokyo Sports Pro Wrestling Awards. Takeshita finished on top of the category over Jake Lee, El Desperado, YAMATO and Hiroshi Tanahashi. The voting committee, which includes Kenta Kobashi and Masahiro Chono, praised Takeshita for using his excursion to AEW in America back in April to get over the slump he was in for the early part of 2021. He received the majority of votes for achieving the DDT Grand Slam of winning King Of DDT, the KO-D Openweight Title and the D-Ou Grand Prix all in the same year. It wasn’t mentioned by Tokyo Sports but don’t forget he also won the Ultimate Tag League and KO-D Tag Team Titles too. Takeshita thanked his fans for their support and said his next goal is to win the Best Bout Award with a match held in DDT. He promises his title match with former Fighting Spirit winner Yuji Okabayashi will be worthy of the award.
There are many reasons why Hyper Misao has grown to hate The 37KAMIINA. Whenever she sees young people like them having fun it brings back the trauma she went through as a shut-in student. She also wants revenge on them for humiliating her in the Tokyo Dome a few months back. If that’s not enough, she is convinced The 37KAMIINA are only faking their love of saunas for clout. Therefore every member of The 37KAMIINA is evil! She promises to use 8,183 weapons (I don’t understand how but 8183 is a play on “Hypami”) to beat Shunma Katsumata because Katsumata only has 37 (“sauna”) at his disposal. Katsumata denies the accusation of being evil and promises to get rid of the biggest liar in all of Nagoya. He wants everyone to remember that Misao is not a hero!

5. IRON FIST Tag Titles: Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga (c) Vs Ryota Nakatsu & SAGAT
Japanese wrestling and obscure championships from other companies is a match made in heaven. The latest example is BASARA ending up with the CCW Canadian Heavyweight Title in their little corner of the indies. Takumi Tsukamoto won the title back in July but hasn’t defended it yet. Daichi Kazato noticed that and asked for a title shot. The belt itself originally came from a company called Canadian Connection Wrestling. In 1997 the title was won by Shigeo Okumura and brought to Japan to be defended in New Tokyo Pro Wrestling (there was also a CCW Tag Team Championship used by the promotion). The final champion when New Tokyo closed down in 1998 was Bad News Allen. After that the belt disappeared for two decades until former champion Kazuhiko Matsuzaki decided to revive it in 2018. The title bounced around the indies which is how it ended up around Tsukamoto’s waist. He is recognised as the 13th champion and he promises to live up to Bad News Allen’s name.

6. International Princess Title: Hikari Noa (c) Vs Maki Itoh
7. Princess Of Princess Title: Miyu Yamashita (c) Vs Mizuki
Mizuki is feeling the pressure of the big title match. This will be her fourth attempt at becoming the Princess Of Princess Champion. She’s anxious about it but understands she has no choice but to win this time, which means this may be the one for her. Even though Miyu Yamashita has been called a monster inside the ring, she thinks Mizuki is a monster too. She is a monster in rabbit’s skin! Mizuki was shocked to hear that because nobody has ever called her a monster before. A win for Yamashita will be another step towards defending the Princess Title at Sumo Hall next March. She knows she isn’t good against fast moving wrestlers like Mizuki so she is taking proper measures to overcome that weakness.
The purpose of the International Princess Title changes depending on who the champion is. Hikari Noa wants it to be defended in death matches. The latest update in her campaign was a public meeting with Bull Nakano to promote Noa’s first solo CD release “I’m Alive.” Nakano’s advice was you shouldn’t do a death match just because you want to. It’s important to bring about a situation where a death match is required. When there is a scenario where both the fans and the company wants to see Noa in a death match then it will be time to do one. Maki Itoh doesn’t want to see blood anywhere near the IP Title. She thinks the championship exists to be defended overseas. She will be proven right if the belt decides to follow her instead of Noa from now on.
Yuki Arai was another big winner at the Tokyo Sports Awards by winning the Best Newcomer category. The voters praised Arai for her sincere commitment to pro wrestling while also continuing her idol career with SKE48. She is grateful to be recognized by her pears and hopes to deliver more fun pro wrestling in the future. She has two big matches coming up soon. The first one is against Yamashita this Friday then on 4th January she takes on Yuka Sakazaki. They’ve only wrestled each other once before so Arai is really nervous. She still wants to show how much she has grown and enjoy the experience as it happens.
For the third year in a row Shoko Nakajima and Hyper Misao will face each other at the Ittenyon show. Their previous matches on this show involved wacky gimmicks and both ended with the loser changing their name for a month. Misao won it last year and ended up creating a wonderful new friend for a month called Shin Ultra Shoko. Nakajima doesn’t like the rule because when she had to change her name for a month it resulted in memory loss over that period. She doesn’t want to go through that again. She does however like doing the actual matches because it means she gets to turn her toy box upside down. She means that both literally and as a metaphor.
DDT “SWEET DREAMS! 2022 TOUR IN FUKUOKA”, 16/01/2022
Fukuoka Nishitetsu Hall
1. Shishamo Power Debut Match: Shishamo Power & X Vs Akito & Yukio Naya
A sponsorship deal between DDT and the Yamada Suisan fishing company will lead to the debut of a new masked wrestler called Shishamo Power! The president of Yamada Suisan wants to use the power of pro wrestling to get people eating fish so they can become more energetic. The deal starts with Shishamo Power debuting in January and getting another match in February. This will all build up to a show DDT and Yamada Suisan are putting together in March to promote seafood. Shishamo wants to spread shishamo fish across Japan and he will do it using moves such as the Eggs Bomber and the Flying Shishamo. He wants to make an impact in his debut match like Tiger Mask did. The idea is not supported by everyone in DDT though. Yukio Naya, whose father runs a yakitori restaurant, believes the people should eat meat to become strong instead. Akito agrees with him and the two of them offered to be Shishamo’s first opponents. It is now up to Shishamo to find another seafood loving wrestler to team up with him.

*V5 for Shinya Aoki.
6. DAMNATION T.A Vs CDK!: Daisuke Sasaki & MJ Paul Vs Masahiro Takanashi & Chris Brookes ended in a No Contest (12:03).
7. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Konosuke Takeshita, Jun Akiyama & HARASHIMA defeated Tetsuya Endo, Kazusada Higuchi & Yuki Ueno when Takeshita pinned Higuchi with the German Suplex (19:32).
Ever since November Konosuke Takeshita has been learning the Jumping Knee from Jun Akiyama. Today is the day it was finally passed down from mentor to student! In the dying moments of the main event, Akiyama grabbed Kazusada Higuchi and told Takeshita it was time. He whipped Higuchi across the ring and Takeshita hit the Jumping Knee for the first time. The move by itself wasn’t enough to end the match so Takeshita had to pin Higuchi with a high angle German Suplex. Takeshita said he was honored to have the move Jumbo Tsuruta passed down to Akiyama now be passed down to him. He promised to use it carefully from here on out and is confident it will lead to victory against Yuji Okabayashi later this month. The result gave Tetsuya Endo something to think about. He is now the leader of BURNING but couldn’t tame the ferocious beast that is Jun Akiyama. It made Endo realize he needs to get stronger.
Things went overboard between DAMNATION T.A and CDK. There were dueling attempts at the Crossface Lock by both Daisuke Sasaki and Masahiro Takanashi on each other. Fighting went on outside the ring where Sasaki grabbed his DDT Universal Title and Baliyan Akki suddenly distracted him so Chris Brookes could hit a Topé. More fighting broke out between Sasaki, Takanashi, Brookes, Akki and MJ Paul that the match had to be called off. Sasaki complained about the “piece of trash from Ichigaya” getting involved in his business. Takanashi is standing up for his friends. Although he is a DDT wrestler, he wants to win the Universal Title on behalf of ChocoPro!
Nobody else was allowed at ringside for the DDT Extreme Title match. What that meant was we ended up with Yumehito Imanari fighting fairly and seriously against Shinya Aoki. A Sleeper Hold rendered Imanari unconscious and Aoki let go so he could pin him for the three count. Even he admitted Imanari’s performance today was “fantastic”.
After Kazuki Hirata won the match for his team, Toru Owashi decided to interview him in the ring. Hirata said it was great to have finally surpassed Toui Kojima. But when Owashi asked about his upcoming match against Shuji Kondo, Hirata got nervous. Owashi motivated him by saying as long as he has “Tokyo GO!” he has a chance to win. Hirata agreed and danced to the song until Kondo suddenly appeared inside the ring behind him! Hirata tried to escape but Kondo knocked him down with the King Kong Lariat. He then gently said he is looking forward to their match in Yoyogi.
Naomi Yoshimura is gaining ground on Yuji Hino little by little. He has one more non-title match against him to prepare for but Bodyguard will be there too. He says if HARASHIMA isn’t worried about it then neither is he.
It was announced that The 37KAMIINA will have their own produce show in Shinjuku on 15th February. Also Shunma Katsumata & MAO are getting their own regular show on WRESTLE UNIVERSE called “Super Encounter” beginning on 15th December. The program includes elements of Rojo Pro Wrestling matches between Katsumata & MAO.

6. Maebashi Specialty Special 6-Man Tag Match: HARASHIMA, Naomi Yoshimura & Chris Brookes defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Yuki Ueno & Toui Kojima when HARASHIMA pinned Kojima with the Somato (21:17).
The hometown hero today was Gunma’s own Yoshiaki Yatsu. He was nervous but the match went without a hitch thanks to help from Tetsuya Endo & Akito. Yatsu hit Yuki Ishida with the Yatsugoye/Iron Knee and made him tap to the Prison Hold. He is sure the result made fans happy and will get them all to return next time DDT comes by.
Before the opening match took place, Kazuki Hirata got on the microphone and declared he was beginning another revolution in Maebashi! He wanted Yuki Iino to join his side but Iino refused. Antonio Honda was up for it and promised to defeat Pheromones under Hirata’s leadership. He then tripped over and hurt his knee. Hisaya Imabayashi got dragged into the match and got embarrassed alongside Hirata. The end came with The Bridge Of Glory, a double team move where Iino & Danshoku Dieno sandwich the victim’s between their butts until they submit. Although Hirata lost, everyone still carried him on their shoulders to celebrate his attempted revolution.

5. Yuto Aijima Retirement Match ~Yuto FINAL ROAD~: Jun Akiyama, Akitoshi Saito, Muhammad Yone & HARASHIMA defeated Yuto Aijima, Sanshiro Takagi, Mitsuya Nagai & Tetsuya Endo when HARASHIMA pinned Aijima with the Somato (20:29).
Omuta’s own Yuto Aijima called time on his 26 year long career in pro wrestling under a DDT banner. As expected for his retirement match, Aijima was pinned and defeated in the middle of the ring. HARASHIMA was the one to claim victory by beating Aijima but the rest of his team helped set it up. Muhammad Yone hit a Strong Elbow, Akitoshi Saito hit the Sickle Death, Jun Akiyama threw him over with the Exploder Suplex and HARASHIMA finished him off with the Somato.
For the retirement ceremony, Aijima was given speeches from everyone who was in the match along with bouquets from friends and family. Aijima also received video messages from Diablo & Kurokage who were members of a unit in Kyushu he was a part of called Black Justice. He then got more video messages this time from Kyohei Wada, Kenta Kobashi, Genichiro Tenryu and Toshiaki Kawada! Aijima said his final words at the end of the ceremony. From tomorrow he will return to being a normal uncle named Shunsuke Aijima. He thanked DDT, Mitsuya Nagai and the wrestlers from NOAH for coming to Omuta to wrestle today. He said he will continue to work behind the scenes so wrestling can continue in his rural town.
In other matters, Naomi Yoshimura got in the ring with Yuji Hino again as part of the build up to the next KO-D Tag Team Titles match. Hino was teaming with Kazushi Miyamoto instead of Bodyguard but it was still a wall too high for Yoshimura to climb. The positive thing Yoshimura got out of this match is he thinks his Chops are starting to break through Hino when they weren’t before.
