On paper the Union MAX Title match just added is a DDT Vs BASARA contest. However Masahiro Takanashi wants the match to just be about himself facing Ryuichi Sekine for the title. This isn’t about promotions or having allies like Sento Minzoku. It’s simply one on one to see who is better.

This is a fan event to mark the beginning of ticket sales for Tokyo Joshi’s 4th January show in Korakuen Hall. A low floor ring is being used for the three matches but there will also be other activities featuring most of the roster.

Whoever leaves the show as the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Champion is guaranteed to defend it in Sumo Hall this November. Keisuke Ishii was the champion before Shuichiro Katsumura won it off him back in January. Since then Katsumura has defended it five times. If he wins here then he will tie Ishii’s amount of successful defences.

Just to be clear, Kenichiro Arai is the Toryumon graduate and Yumehito Imanari is the art student.

Shota and Shinichiro Tominaga face each other in a battle between damaged ACLs.

Originally Koharu Hinata was booked for the show but she is now unable to appear. In a completely unrelated matter Miss Koharu became available so she takes her place.

With five defences after today, Shuichiro Katsumura is ready to go into Sumo Hall this November as the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Champion. He said that ever since he won the title from Keisuke Ishii, he has been defending the title as a representative of Ganbare☆Wrestling. At Sumo Hall he will show everyone the strength of Ganpro! However Ishii came out and challenged Katsumura to a title match, thinking he should be the Ganpro wrestler holding the belt going into Sumo Hall. Their title match will happen on 28th September.

The GPW trio failed to win back the GWC 6-Man Tag Team Titles from Real GUTS Army. A frustrated Ken Ohka complained about the champions cheating during the match but Yumehito Imanari was eager to continue wrestling. He told Kenichiro Arai that he is persistent and wants a singles match against him on 28th September. Arai agreed. He has faced many kinds of wrestlers but Imanari is a new type he has discovered. DDT always ignored Arai but somehow Arai has become addicted to wrestling inside a DDT related ring.

14 months after his last match in Ganpro, Shinichiro Tominaga returned from his long absence. He put up a good fight against Ishii but his Jumping Knee Kick was blocked. Ishii stunned him with three Baseball Chops and got the win with a Double Arm Clutch Driver. Tominaga said it was his second match against Ishii, the first one happened around eight years ago. He said next time he will win! But first he’ll focus on getting stronger.

Ryotaro Watanabe is calling Naoshi Sano his “final” opponent. He doesn’t mean his last opponent, Sano is supposed to be his most challenging one. So he’s more like Watanabe’s final boss.

At the beginning of the show Mitomi Masayuki held a Q&A session with the Ganpro fan club. He claims to have gotten huge investments for his new P.P.P. Tokyo promotion.

Ohka would have loved to be part of “BAKUHA KOSHIEN 2019” in Tsurumi on 17th November but he is already booked for a show happening in his hometown of Toyama that day. It was his high school dream to participate in a Koshien tournament.

The trainee Izumi is now Suzume! The debuting wrestler was born in Ibaraki on 27th November, 1998. She is 152cm tall and her blood type is A. Suzume became a fan of Tokyo Joshi Pro when one of her friends invited her along to see a show. She moved to Tokyo to join the company and has been training for around 7 months. There’s no mention of any athletic background in her profile but she put illustrations down as her special skill. So at least we know she’ll become a wrestler who can draw (oh come on you knew I would make that joke).

The bad times keep on coming for Ganbare☆Wrestling in their feud with Real GUTS Army. After yesterday’s clean sweep in singles matches, today saw the GUTS Army win the GWC 6-Man Tag Team Titles. A blind tag was the key to victory. Kenichiro Arai made contact with Shota before Shota was hit with the Chubby Knee Kick. Yumehito Imanari was confused when his pin on Shota wasn’t being counted. Arai then jumped in and Cradled Imanari for the three count.

Arai introduced himself to the audience after the match. He explained he’s been wrestling on the independent scene for almost a decade now but the DDT System never booked him until today. He thinks the DDT System is afraid of him! His comments provoked Ken Ohka into challenging him to a match on 14th September. Ohka also saw Guts Ishijima in the room and told him they can have a match too whenever Ishijima’s injury goes away.

Shuichiro Katsumura’s next challenger for the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title is Mitomi Masayuki on 14/9. Katsumura’s goal as champion is to hold onto the belt long enough to defend it at “ULTIMATE PARTY 2019!” in Sumo Hall this November.

Kouki Iwasaki ends his Big Japan challenge with a 1-1 record. He kicked away Ryuichi Kawakami’s offer of a handshake after their match.

Both HARUKAZE and Cherry were dressed in summer clothing for their match. HARUKAZE wore a yukata while Cherry wrestled in a swimsuit. Cherry was armed with a floating ring and didn’t hesitate to use it.

Shinichiro Tominaga appeared for the first time in a long time. He is currently recovering from a an ACL injury. He announced his return to the ring is on track to happen in September.

Miss Mongol thanked Ken Ohka & Yumehito Imanari for giving her the opportunities to wrestle even at her age. Before the show took place Mongol contacted Atsushi Onita for permission to close out the show the same way he used to. Onita gave her his blessing but after she did it, the Real GUTS Army attacked them. Shota said today’s result was a fluke and he demanded some rematches to take place on 10th and 11th August. Guts Ishijima won’t be at the 10th August show because he already has a booking with 666. Shota promised to bring along a replacement.

Minoru Fujita approached Shuichiro Katsumura after the semi-main and asked for a match with him. Fujita originally promised he would never come back to Ganbare☆Wrestling but he really wants to wrestle Katsumura. They agreed to have a match on 10th August but the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title will not be on the line.

Naoshi Sano beat Chikara clean then challenged Mitsuo Momota to a match. However Momota had another idea. It is clear that he and his son cannot beat Sano so rather then fight him again, they should all team up instead! That would be a better way for them to study Sano’s strength. Sano and Chikara were both puzzled by the idea but Momota convinced them to try it out.

Ken Ohka had some big news for Kouki Iwasaki. Next month he is going to have a couple of opponents from Big Japan coming in! Iwasaki faces Akira Hyodo on 10th August and Ryuichi Kawakami on the 11th!

Ohka and Shuhei Washida attempted to Bottle Cap Challenge before the show began but they both failed. So they changed the rules into a water drinking contest. Washida beat Ohka.

For a man as well traveled in the Japanese scene as Hiroshi Yamato, the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title would be the perfect symbol to represent his status. Yamato believes he can raise the prestige of the championship by defending it across the 50-ish promotions he has wrestled for.

A retired Guts World championship is being resurrected for the feud between GPW and Real GUTS Army. This was Ken Ohka’s idea because he is becoming more and more hungry to be a champion again. Also the high stakes of a title match shows which wrestlers are the ones with real guts.

The newly created P.P.P. Tokyo gets a warm up against one of Ganpro’s best.
