The World Omori Title match saw Chikara’s father Mitsuo Momota get caught up in the action when his son and Soma Takao fought around the crowd outside the ring. Chikara almost collided into him but stopped right in front of him. Takao wound up winning the match and becoming the new World Omori Champion. The result means a lot to him because he used to go to DDT’s outdoor shows at JR Omori Station back when he was a high school student. He is eager for this show to take place again next year so he can defend the belt.

Sanshiro Takagi heard that the rookie Takeshi Masada really wants to be part of DDT’s show in Hollywood next year and laid him down with a challenge. Masada has to beat Takagi in a singles match first before he can ask to be part of the USA tour!

1. Chikara (w/ Mao) defeated Miyako Matsumoto (w/ Ippanjin Munenori Sawa) with the Saber Chop (19:38).

The show began with a thrilled Miyako Matsumoto and Munenori Sawa announcing today’s Gake no Fuchi Joshi show has sold out with a bigger crowd than the one they had back on Christmas Eve. Sawa mentioned that Sanshiro Takagi couldn’t be here because he was having a meal with the president of AbemaTV. Matsumoto said if anyone in the audience had any complaints about the show, they should still send them to Takagi. The two left the ring then re-entered as part of the athlete’s ceremony. They remembered that the goal for today was to find a bride for Chikara.

The candidates Mao and Ichiho Shirahata entered the ring to meet Chikara. Before the match began, the two candidates faced off in a rap battle. Matsumoto joined in and the three way got too exciting for Chikara to handle. Daisuke Kiso ended the rap battle and asked the fans to choose the winner. Mao won the audience vote.

Next up was one of the regular challenges on these shows, the Kiso Flag Race. Matsumoto and Mao would race from the stage into the ring. The first one to hit Kiso would be the winner However, Mao turned out to be Sawa dressed in the same clothes. Sawa kicked Matsumoto out of the way and hit Kiso to win.

The show took a break for a special presentation of “Chikara Mania”. Darth Chikara came out to fight Ouchi Yoda in a Lightsaber duel. Matsumoto interrupted it and attacked both of them with a baseball bat “rigged to explode” with confetti. The match was ruled a no contest as the room filled with gun smoke.

Next, Metropoli-chan V entered the ring wearing a wedding dress. She was here to enter the contest and become Chikara’s bride. Matsumoto attacked her with the bat too.

Sawa and Chikara had a karaoke contest. Sawa sang “God Of Romance” and Chikara sang “Young Man”. Chikara won the audience vote.

There’s going to be a wrestling match soon. I swear! But first was another special presentation called “Ichiho Mania”. Shirahata and Mao has a Sailor Uniform Girl Showdown that did not feature sailor uniforms. They instead played a game where they had to push a piece of thread through a needle. Neither of them could do it so the game ended in a draw.

The ring announcer Uta Shima then added herself as a bride candidate. Shima and Shirahata both flirted with Chikara by saying different words in either a sexy or cute manner. Kiso judged Shima to be the winner.

When that was over Matsumoto, Mao, Chikara and Shirahata sat together to mimic a TV morning show debate. They talked about how charming Chikara is then started arguing over each other’s cooking skills. A fight was going to break out so Kiso ended the segment before things got violent. Shirahata was declared the winner of the talk show.

It was finally time for Chikara to make his decision. But just when he was about to choose his bride, his father Mitsuo Momota walked out! Even though Momota wants to have grandchildren as soon as possible, he came here today to watch a wrestling match! Matsumoto Vs Chikara was ready to begin, but first there was a 10 minute break.

At last the match happened. Mao got involved by putting Matsumoto in a Cobra Twist. Sawa ran in to rescue her but Chikara got rid of him with a Chop. Matsumoto grabbed Mao’s baseball cap and threw it away which made Chikara furious. Suddenly there were the surprise appearances of ASHUKA and Lingerie Muto! They fought until ASHUKA told everyone she had to fly back home to America. Muto left too and Sawa returned to fight Chikara in a proper wrestling match. Matsumoto used Sawa’s help to get the better of her opponent until Mao interfered again. Sawa went for the Shining Wizard on Chikara but Matsumoto got in the way and took the hit instead. Mao hit Matsumoto with the Saber Chop and Chikara followed up with one of his own to take the victory.

Chikara thanked Mao for teaming with him today. He was about to nominate her to be his bride when suddenly Shirahata’s manager came out. He said there was a violation of the rules. Chikara was not allowed to contact any of the women before the show but proof was shown on screen that Chikara sent a Twitter DM to Shirahata a few days ago! Matsumoto attacked Chikara for breaking the rules. It was then revealed that the kind of person Chikara really wants to marry is a female pro wrestler. That way then can talk about and share the same dream together. He won’t be able to marry Mao, but at least everybody now forgives him for sending the DM. Everyone then sang together to give the audience a happy ending.

5. Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title: Shuichiro Katsumura (c) defeated Hiroshi Yamato with the Ninja Choke (19:22).

6. GWC 6-Man Tag Team Titles – 20th Champions Decision Match: Ken Ohka, Yumehito Imanari & Miss Mongol defeated Guts Ishijima, Masked Mystery & Shota when Mongol pinned Shota with a Cross Body (13:06).
*GPW become the 20th GWC 6-Man Tag Team Champions!

Miss Mongol thanked Ken Ohka & Yumehito Imanari for giving her the opportunities to wrestle even at her age. Before the show took place Mongol contacted Atsushi Onita for permission to close out the show the same way he used to. Onita gave her his blessing but after she did it, the Real GUTS Army attacked them. Shota said today’s result was a fluke and he demanded some rematches to take place on 10th and 11th August. Guts Ishijima won’t be at the 10th August show because he already has a booking with 666. Shota promised to bring along a replacement.

Minoru Fujita approached Shuichiro Katsumura after the semi-main and asked for a match with him. Fujita originally promised he would never come back to Ganbare☆Wrestling but he really wants to wrestle Katsumura. They agreed to have a match on 10th August but the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title will not be on the line.

Naoshi Sano beat Chikara clean then challenged Mitsuo Momota to a match. However Momota had another idea. It is clear that he and his son cannot beat Sano so rather then fight him again, they should all team up instead! That would be a better way for them to study Sano’s strength. Sano and Chikara were both puzzled by the idea but Momota convinced them to try it out.

Ken Ohka had some big news for Kouki Iwasaki. Next month he is going to have a couple of opponents from Big Japan coming in! Iwasaki faces Akira Hyodo on 10th August and Ryuichi Kawakami on the 11th!

Ohka and Shuhei Washida attempted to Bottle Cap Challenge before the show began but they both failed. So they changed the rules into a water drinking contest. Washida beat Ohka.

4. Shota The Brutal Wind That Blows: Shota, Guts Ishijima & Masked Mystery defeated Ken Ohka, Shuichiro Katsumura & Shuhei Washida when Ishijima submitted Washida with the WAR Special (17:07).
5. Dangan Senshi, Attack On Ganpro!: Masato Tanaka defeated Yumehito Imanari with the Sliding D (15:38).

Masato Tanaka thanked Yumehito Imanari for inviting him to wrestle in Ganbare☆Wrestling today. He brought up memories of Imanari training in one of the ZERO1 dojos long ago. Imanari explained to the fans that although he was never registered to ZERO1 he did get permission from them to train in their dojo. The two agreed to having another match sometime and Imanari says he is now a student of the DANGAN GYM.

Normally Shota is a Ganpro wrestler but today he represented GUTS along with Guts Ishijima & Masked Mystery. They were victorious over the Ganpro side but Ken Ohka felt something was off about Ishijima’s intentions. Ohka is trying to make pro wrestling a major sport and he wants to unify the indies to do it. But Guts World has closed down and it’s replacement Pro Wrestling GOING-UP didn’t last either. Now that Guts Ishijima is in Ganbare☆Wrestling will he quit here too? Just what is it about Ishijima and wrestling promotions that involve the letter G? Ishijima said he loves indie wrestling and he will be the one to unify it. He promised to come back to Ganpro next month to continue the rebirth of GUTS.

Chikara stood in his Mitsuo Momota’s corner so he could his father face Naoshi Sano one on one. But during the match Sano went out of the ring and dared Chikara to hit him. When Chikara wouldn’t, Sano knocked him down. He then made Momota hit the referee by accident with a Lariat. When that happened Sano brought in a chair but Chikara cut him off with the Saber Chop, allowing Momota to pin him when the ref recovered.

Keisuke Ishii & Kouki Iwasaki Vs Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase will take place on 2nd June.

5. Ganbare☆Wrestling Vs Sento Minzoku ~Fate Reunion! Ohka & Isami!~: Ken Ohka, Shuichiro Katsumura & Shota defeated Isami Kodaka, Ryuichi Sekine & Daiki Shimomura when Ohka pinned Shimomura with the Vertical Drop Brainbuster (15:06).
6. Ganbare☆Wrestling Vs Sento Minzoku ~Fort Of Ganpro~: Minoru Fujita defeated Keisuke Ishii with the Samson Clutch (17:07).

Minoru Fujita grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat in the main event. Keisuke Ishii knocked him off the apron to the floor with the Kneel Kick. But when Ishii got Fujita back into the ring, Fujita caught him in the Samson Clutch to win the match. Afterwards Fujita said that regardless of the current feud between Ganbare☆Wrestling and Sento Minzoku, he was honored to have a singles match with Ishii in Tokyo today. He wants Ishii to stay on his level until the day he dies. Yumehito Imanari came out to challenge Fujita for a rematch. He is now learning from Shinjiro Otani’s pro wrestling textbook and if Fujita is a true pro wrestler, he will agree to a match on 23rd March. Fujita accepted the challenge because he isn’t going to let somebody surpass him just because they read a book written by one of the best wrestlers in Japan.

That’s not the only big match booked for the 23rd. After the semi-main event Ken Ohka called out to Isami Kodaka. At first Kodaka ignored him until Ohka kept screaming at him for a fight, saying it was personal. Kodaka accepts and they will face off on the 23rd!

Imanari learned a lot from wrestling Otani today. In fact Otani said Imanari deserves to read his textbook of pro wrestling. All 165 pages of it. Doesn’t matter if he is strong or weak, cool or bad. A real pro wrestler learns how to go about this sport in their own way.

Andras Miyagi didn’t come to Ganpro to make any friends especially with Moeka Haruhi. They wouldn’t stop fighting each other outside of the ring so they got counted out. A restart was allowed and the match lasted longer this time but it still ended with the same result. This time Haruhi almost entered the ring in time but Miyagi struck her with a chair, knocking her back to the floor in time to be counted out.

The worst thing that could happen to Chikara in the ring took place today. His chopping hand got injured! Thanks to a distracted referee, Naoshi Sano used the ring bell as a shield against Chikara’s Saber Chops. Chikara was in so much pain that the referee had to stop the match and declare Sano the winner. A concerned Mitsuo Momota checked on his son afterwards.

4. Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title Next Challenger Battle Royal: HARUKAZE defeated Hagane by Ring Out (11:23).
Order Of Elimination: Ryan Davidson, Moeka Haruhi, Chikara, Shuichiro Katsumura, Takeshi Okada and Hagane.
5. Ganbare☆Climax 2018 – Round 1 – No DQ & No Ropes Match: Survival Tobita defeated Ken Ohka with the Piledriver onto a Chair (13:10).
6. Ganbare☆Climax 2018 – Round 1 – No DQ & No Ropes Match: Yumehito Imanari defeated Shin Mokujin Ken by Knockout with a Diving Elbow from the balcony (8:10).

The 2018 Ganbare☆Climax kicked off in violent fashion with the top two matches of the 1st Round. It was agreed that the main event and semi-main event would take place under Saitama Wrestling rules which meant no DQs, no countouts and no ropes attached to the ring. Yumehito Imanari knew that he had to go the extra mile to beat the stiff wooden monster known as Shin Mokujin Ken so he dressed Commando style for the match. He hid underneath a box so he could ambush Ken during its entrance but Ken was ready for him. Next, Imanari took out a machine gun and fired at Ken but the creature was not effected by the bullets. They brawled outside over to the balcony and Imanari knocked Ken into the wall with the Chubby Knee strike. Ken fell on top of a pile of boxes and couldn’t get up. Imanari then finished it off by finding his way up to the balcony and jumping off to hit a Diving Elbow Drop! Imanari was able to get up but Ken couldn’t answer the referee so Imanari was declared the winner by Knockout! When the match was over Imanari said for the last month he hated Ken. But today he felt a fresh sensation when they fought each other. Imanari now realises Ken isn’t a monster, he’s more like a forest fairy! Imanari broke down into tears and apologised for shooting Ken with a machine gun. He admits that was unnecessary. The world needs to be more peaceful and to do that Imanari will wrestle his enemies instead of shooting guns at them. Ken accepted his apology and the two gave each other a fist bump.

The other No Ropes, No DQ Match did not have as happy of an ending. Last year’s Ganbare☆Climax winner Ken Ohka was eliminated by Survival Tobita! Ohka was busted open early during an outside brawl and Tobita made it worse with more weapon attacks including a sawblade and a plunger. Ohka fought back with his own weapons which were all ordinary items found inside a suitcase. He got a nearfall with the Fire Spear outside the ring. The match went back into the ring and Ohka tried to finish off Tobita with a Piledriver. But Tobita countered it with a Back Body Drop onto chairs and the suitcase. Tobita hit a Piledriver of his own onto the chairs and that got him the win. Both men were on the mat by the end but Tobita still had enough in him to speak. He questioned if Ohka did his best today. Tobita gives his best because he knows as a 50 year old man that it will all be taken away from him someday. If Ohka is just going to tread water he may as well go smoke cigarettes instead of wrestle. Tobita told Ohka to ask himself again what is Ganbare☆Wrestling? Ohka still has more to do to answer that.

In the remaining 1st Round matches Shota beat a grumpy Mitsuo Momota by holding onto his tights during a School Boy. Shinichiro Tominaga eliminated Yuu Yamagata from the tournament by kissing her for a distraction then rolling her up with a Small Package for the three count. The semi-finals tomorrow will be Shota Vs Imanari and Tobita Vs Tominaga.

Besides the Ganbare☆Climax opening round, the rest of the show was all about the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title. The day kicked off with Keisuke Ishii successfully defending the belt against Ayumu Honda. Later in the show HARUKAZE won a Battle Royal to get the next title shot tomorrow. The match included a last minute entry from Texas wrestler Ryan Davidson. He looked to be a threat early so the rest of the field all joined forces to eliminate him. Ishii congratulated HARUKAZE for winning the match and told her it was great to see a woman getting a title match. He then called for his next challenger to come into the ring. HARUKAZE told Ishii that she is the next challenger. Ishii was a little annoyed by the idea but he agreed to the match. He won’t lose to a chick show! HARUKAZE got fired up and told Ishii she will beat him to become the new champion tomorrow!

3. HARUKAZE’s Hot Summer: Saori Anou defeated HARUKAZE with the To Be Continued (8:10).
4. Ganbare☆Climax Special 6-Man Tag Match: Takafumi Ito, Tanomusaku Toba & Hollywood GOTA defeated Shinichiro Tominaga, Yukihiro Abe & Shinichiro Wakita when Ito pinned Wakita with a German Suplex (12:30).
5. Special Tag Match: Mitsuo Momota & Chikara defeated Kendo Kashin & Yumehito Imanari when Momota pinned Imanari with a School Boy (9:20).
6. Special Tag Match: Minoru Fujita & KAZMA SAKAMOTO defeated Shigehiro Irie & Shinichiro Tominaga when Fujita pinned Tominaga with a Modified Choke Hold (12:23).
7. Ganbare☆Climax – Final: Ken Ohka defeated KENSO with the Fire Spear (16:08).

Ken Ohka is your winner of the 2017 Ganbare☆Climax! Ohka had to face and beat one of his rivals KENSO to be crowned the tournament’s first winner. KENSO had KAZMA SAKAMOTO in his corner to help out but that plan backfired late in the match when a Lariat aimed for Ohka hit KENSO instead. Ohka hit the Fire Spear several times but the referee was out of action every time. Another Fire Spear hitting KENSO in mid-air led to one final Spear for the three count.

KENSO congratulated Ohka for winning the tournament and called him the “fucking best”. He then switched the subject over to his ally Hollywood GOTA. KENSO announced that GOTA was dismissed from the New York Head Hunters! GOTA was as surprised as anyone else but left when SAKAMOTO hugged him goodbye. KENSO said he wants the Ganbare☆Climax to become as big a prize as the G1 Climax then left the ring. Ohka thanked the fans, friends and family for their support. There was no prize money or championship on the line but everyone still fought their best. He then announced his next Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title defence will be on 21st September. His opponent is somebody from his past, a wrestler who was part of the same Dragon System class that he flunked out of. It’s “brother” YASSHI!

KENSO defeated Dave Crist to advance to the final. At first KENSO showed respect to Crist and fought clean. But as the match went and the fans rallied behind Crist, KENSO became more aggressive and refused to break holds or follow the ref’s orders. He countered Crist’s Axe Bomber with the Soul’s Leg Lock and forced Crist to submit.

Ohka was able to beat GENTARO in the semi-final by countering a Cross Armbreaker into a Cradle pin. GENTARO was upset over the result and still wanted to fight Ohka after the bell. He had to be held back by the referee. It was clear he was disappointed in his tournament run ending this way.

The father/son duo of Mitsuo Momota & Chikara won their grudge match against Kendo Kashin & Yumehito Imanari. Kashin today weighed in at 88kg and he entered the ring carrying a wand he borrowed from Fairy Nihonbashi at a WAVE show the day before. The match had a weird ending where Momota held Imanari in place for Chikara to hit him with the Sabre Chop. However, Kashin then grabbed Momota and held him in place too. Chikara hesitated but did the Sabre Chop. Momota somehow ducked so both Imanari & Kashin were hit. Momota then rolled over Imanari in a School Boy for the pin. After the match Kashin said he had a talk with Sanshiro Takagi and they agreed to book Kashin Vs Momota at Sumo Hall on the morning of DDT “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2017”. The match will begin at 6:30 am. Takagi was in the audience and he denied making the match or ever talking to Kashin.

Shota was the ring announcer for all three days of the tournament and by the time Day 3 began he was running out of topics to talk about during the opening ceremony. He acknowledged there was another Climax tournament happening nearby and his Twitter timeline was a confusing mixture of tweets about both shows.

2. Ganbare☆Climax – Round 2: GENTARO defeated Takafumi Ito with a High Angle Forward Rotation Cradle (11:02).
3. Ganbare☆Climax – Round 2: KENSO defeated Kendo Kashin by Counout (12:20).
4. Ganbare The Great, Ganbare The Shooter & HARUKAZE defeated Chikara, Yukinori Abe & Yumehiro Imanari when Shooter submitted Imanari with the Ganbare The Expression Cross Armbreaker (10:36).
5. Ganbare☆Climax – Round 2: Ken Ohka defeated KAZMA SAKAMOTO with the Fire Spear (14:59).
6. Ganbare☆Climax – Round 2: Dave Crist defeated Shinichiro Tominaga with the Magdalene (16:11).

Day 2 of the Ganbare☆Climax focused on the quarter finals of the tournament. The main event saw Shinichiro Tominaga and Dave Crist getting the spotlight as the final match in the 2nd round. Tominaga tried playing mind games by daring Crist to grapple with him on the ground. That didn’t work because Crist has MMA experience. Tominaga later tried to convince Crist to take it easy on him because he has a daughter. That also didn’t work because Crist didn’t see the daughter anywhere in the room. Tominaga finally got something going when he convinced the referee to check on Crist’s shoes. The pause in action gave Tominaga the chance to do a Jumping Cutter to Crist while his guard down. Crist kicked out and hit the Square And Compass but Tominaga kicked out too. Crist then hit the Magdalene to eliminate Tominaga from the tournament. Crist brought Shigehiro Irie into the ring to translate his victory speech. He said Tominaga was a terribly strong wrestler. When Crist got on his flight to Japan he was worried he wouldn’t get to fight a good hand like Tominaga. Crist ended the speech by saying “We’re family! We are Ganbare Pro!”

Ken Ohka’s strong run continued with a victory over KAZMA SAKAMOTO. He countered the Michinoku Driver II with a Dragon Suplex then definitively put down his opponent with a Lariat, a Vertical Drop Brainbuster and finally the Fire Spear.

KENSO Vs Kendo Kashin. How those words when spoken aloud by Shota didn’t scare off the audience I will never know. Today Kashin weighed in at 120kg, way up from the 48kg he claimed to be at the day before. Kashin saw that KENSO’s shoulder was taped up and asked if he was allowed to attack it. When KENSO ignored him to try and get the fans to chant his name, Kashin decided that he could target the body part. The fans also chanted for Kashin which made KENSO angry. The two brawled outside and risked getting counted out. KENSO made it back in on time but when Kashin was about to re-enter on the 19th second, Mitsuo Momota came out and pulled Kashin away from the ring. KENSO was declared the winner by countout. Kashin challenged Momota to a 5 Vs 5 match between Ganbare☆Wrestling and NEW to be held at Sumo Hall with Yukinori Matsui as the referee. Matsui wouldn’t agree to it. Kashin then challenged Momota & Chikara to a match tomorrow. Momota accepted. Yumehito Imanari offered to be Kashin’s tag partner for the bout and he accepted him.

GENTARO Vs Takafumi Ito was mostly ground based with GENTARO coming out on top with a Forward Roll counter to Ito’s Cradle pin attempt.

Tomorrow’s semi-finals are Ken Ohka Vs GENTARO and Dave Crist Vs KENSO.
