The earlier match HARASHIMA was booked for will now have Akito in it instead.

GANBARE☆PRO “GIRI GIRI CHOP! 2023”, 01/10/2023
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Riara Vs SAKI
2. GanPro’s Famous Mixed 6-Man Tag Match: Keisuke Ishii, Munetatsu Nakamura & HARUKAZE Vs Soma Takao, Shinichiro Tominaga & Kaho Kobayashi
3. GanJo x TJPW Special Tag Match: Yuki Kamifuku & YuuRI Vs Suzume & Yoshiko Hasegawa
4. Loser Haircut Tag Match: Ken Ohka & Shota Vs Koji Doi & Kuma Arashi
5. Spirit Of Ganbare World Tag Team Titles: Shuichiro Katsumura & Takuya Wada (c) Vs Hikaru Sato & Tyson Maeguchi
6. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Isami Kodaka (c) Vs Yumehito Imanari

The contracts for the two title matches were signed earlier today. Yumehito Imanari spoke of the pride he felt seeing Shinichiro Tominaga try to beat Isami Kodaka for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title. Tominaga failed but his efforts inspired Imanari to be the next challenger to step in front in Kodaka. Even though Kodaka originally planned for this title reign to be like an invasion he has felt the warmth, fun and brightness of Ganbare☆Pro over time. So when he beat Tominaga it brought him back to reality when he noticed the fans were disappointed with the result. He wants to remain champion in order to keep getting guaranteed bookings from GanPro. His previous memories of Imanari are only from back when Imanari was on the DDT video team. He is confident he will beat him because he cannot envision what kind of pro wrestler Imanari can be.

Hentai Punch Drunkers said they want to win back the Spirit Of Ganbare Tag Team Titles because they never got to hold onto the physical belts while they were champions. Hikaru Sato said that means you cannot say he and Tyson Maeguchi ever “lost the belts”. It is a loose end that needs to be tied up. In fact, Maeguchi is acting like this is his first ever championship match and believes the title he is fighting for has a lot of history behind it (no and no). Takuya Wada complained that GanPro was too leniant over the decision to book this rematch because Maeguchi hasn’t done anything recently to deserve another chance. Shuichiro Katsumura wants to win in order to prevent the first champion team from ever establishing a connection with the physical title belts. Wada and Maeguchi then almost got into a fight during the group photo and had to be kept apart.

DDT “ULTIMATE PARTY 2023”, 12/11/2023
Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan

1. Saki Akai Retirement Match: Saki Akai Vs X
2. Special Single Match: Hiromu Takahashi Vs Kazuki Hirata
3. Dramatic Dream Match: Chris Jericho Vs KONOSUKE TAKESHITA
4. DDT Universal Title: Matt Cardona (c) (w/ Steph De Lander) Vs MAO
5. KO-D Openweight Title: Chris Brookes (c) Vs Yuki Ueno

I’m betting that Brookes’ shoulder injury is not bad enough to take him out of “ULTIMATE PARTY 2023” where he is advertised to defend the KO-D Openweight Title against Yuki Ueno. I’m daring fate here.

Despite losing his big match over the weekend, MAO was still encouraged to go his own direction and make a decision that will be best for himself. That quickly sent him down the road to challenging Matt Cardona for the DDT Universal Title. Of course Steph De Lander will be there too by the champion’s side. Maki Itoh had the right idea to try and incapacitate her in order to beat Cardona. Give MAO that battleplan and he will come up with an even crazier way to get that done.

So yeah, Chris Jericho is going to be on the show fighting Konosuke Takeshita. I didn’t expect that. The AEW feud surrounding Don Callis is going to have a chapter over in DDT where Takeshita is establishing himself back into a face for the home fans. I’m among the critics of Jericho who accuse him of constantly positioning himself into AEW angles that take the spotlight away from people who are getting over. But I’ll give it to him here, it’s paying off with a big match for DDT in Sumo Hall.

Takumi Tsukamoto chose his opponent for the main event of BASARA’s 5th Anniversary show. In the end, Tsukamoto chose FUMA and their match will have the Union MAX Title on the line.

The Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi Vs Minoru Fujita ended in a draw when Hiroshi began to sing “Silent Night”. Fujita joined in and they left the ring together in harmony while the match was still going on. The referee called off the match because the wrestlers had no reason to fight each other.

The final on 22nd December will be Isami Kodaka & Daiki Shimomura Vs Ryota Nakatsu & SAGAT. Nakatsu dedicated today’s win to Yasu Urano who is currently recovering from the Coronavirus. Nakatsu will also be wrestling for the DOVE World Title in Dove Pro on the 20th. His goal now is to win both that title and the IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT! Over on the Sento Minzoku team, Daiki Shimomura has become determined to beat Nakatsu in the final. Since everyone is targeting somebody, Kodaka said he wants to beat SAGAT.

DDT “EXTREME RECAPTURE STRATEGY”, 02/12/2020

1. DDT Extreme Title: Sanshiro Takagi (c) Vs Rambo Kawamura

Sanshiro Takagi’s first DDT Extreme Title defence ended in disaster when Rambo Kawamura ambushed the champion and took the belt hostage! Guerilla tactics will be needed for Takagi to get it back because Kawamura has fled to the Savage Field, an outdoor area somewhere in Tokyo used for airsoft activities, shooting ranges and other gun hobbies.

The mascots of both DDT and Big Japan face off. I suppose Pokotan and Death Kamo-kun will have a wrestling match but who knows what Danshoku Dieno wants them to do. He is hyping up the show by saying it will be something he has never seen anyone else do and it won’t broadcast anywhere outside of his Pia Live Stream.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “FALL TOUR ’20 ~WOMM (WRESTLING OF MY MIND)~”, 06/12/2020
Tokyo Narimasu Act Hall

1. International Princess Title: Yuki Kamifuku (c) Vs Mahiro Kiryu

Last month, Yuki Kamifuku and Mahiro Kiryu were supposed to team together in Narimasu and fight for a Princess Tag Team Titles shot. Kamifuku had to pull out of the match with a broken finger. When Kiryu challenged her for the International Princess Title this week, the champion knew it must take place in Narimasu for that reason.

Sakisama & Mei Saint-Michel will be on the show. Two things happen every time NEO Biishiki-gun reappear in Tokyo Joshi Pro. Sakisama and her loyal partner go after the Princess Tag Titles and they end up feuding with the newer members of the roster. Suzume & Sena Shiori look to be the feud if Saint-Michel’s immediate opinion on them is anything to go by.

Long ago, way back in February of this year Homoiro Clover Z reunited at a BOYZ show. Their return was met with defiance from the also reunited NωA and the two sides argued over who the real music idols of DDT were. As a member of both units, Makoto Oishi was stuck in the middle and unable to choose a side. A decision was made to do an Oishi Contra Oishi match with the winners getting Oishi all to themselves. The idea was forgotten about when BOYZ came back in August but it’s happening here on Christmas Eve! Oishi has to wrestle for both teams too.

There is one other match to be announced.

He had to convince Asuka it would be an easy defence for her in order to get the title shot.

BASARA “BASARA 140 ~THE 7TH FOX PRINCE~” Results

??? Fans – Withheld

1. Yusuke Kubo defeated Masato Kamino with a Modified Gedo Clutch (11:06).
2. Asian Kung-Fu Generation Presents A Tragedy Of 4,000 Years In China! Phantom Curse Township 4 Way Match: Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi defeated FUMA, Daiki Shimomura and Takato Nakano when Hiroshi pinned Shimomura with a School Boy (10:10).
3. Isami Kodaka defeated Daichi Kazato wirh a Tombstone Piledriver (10:38).
4. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 1: Ryuichi Sekine & Minoru Fujita defeated Fuminori Abe & Tetsuo Usui when Sekine submitted Usui with the Let’s Combine (16:16).
5. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 1: Ryota Nakatsu & SAGAT defeated Takumi Tsukamoto & Yasu Urano when SAGAT pinned Urano with the Goregrind (17:25).

The second IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT semi-final will be Ryuichi Sekine & Minoru Fujita Vs Ryota Nakatsu & SAGAT. After the main event, Nakatsu called it the de facto final because Sparky beat the new Union MAX Champion in Takumi Tsukamoto and a respected veteran in Yasu Urano.

The rules for the 4 Way Match were created by Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi. He was inspired by the Jusenkyo springs from Ranma 1/2 where stepping into the water will transform people into something else, like a cat for example. Sprinkling water onto them would turn them back to normal. So in this match wrestlers began acting like cats whenever they were thrown out of the ring.

Kendo Kashin In TJPW? IRON FIST TAG Continues, D-Ou Comments

November 13, 2020

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “FALL TOUR ’20 ~WOMM (WRESTLING OF MY MIND)~”, 14/11/2020
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Shoko Nakajima & Suzume Vs Nao Kakuta & Pom Harajuku
2. Hyper Misao Vs Moka Miyamoto
3. 3 Way Match: Rika Tatsumi Vs Maki Itoh Vs Mahiro Kiryu
4. Nodoka Tenma, Yuki Aino & Mirai Maiumi Vs Yuki Kamifuku, Marika Kobashi & Hikari Noa
5. Sakisama Vs Sena Shiori
6. Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki & Raku Vs Miyu Yamashita, Miu Watanabe & Haruna Neko

It’s a fresh new chapter for Tokyo Joshi Pro. We have newcomers joining Yuka Sakazaki in the champion club with no immediate challengers for any of the titles on the horizon. Sakisama is returning which is usually a sign that NEO Biishiki-gun is looking for new members. Nao Kakuta makes her Tokyo Joshi debut.

We now know why Kendo Kashin showed up to “WRESTLE PRINCESS”. He approached Tetsuya Koda declaring himself the new part-time coach for TJPW! He spoke to Koda in a “Western” accent, explaining he can use his world class coaching skills to make Tokyo Joshi world class. That will result in Tokyo Joshi becoming World Joshi, or WJ for short. Koda said he was grateful for the offer but turned Kashin down. A world class coach means he would have to be paid a world class salary and Koda just can’t do that right now. Kashin insists he can do a great job because the “WJ” roster is full of gold eggs. With his teaching they can wrestle anywhere from the Budokan and the Tokyo Dome to the Capital Wrestling Center and the ThunderDome!

5. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 1: Takumi Tsukamoto & Yasu Urano Vs Ryota Nakatsu & SAGAT

One side of the semi-final bracket is filled. This show determines the other half. Takumi Tsukamoto has all the momentum behind him as the new Union MAX Champion. The previous champ Fuminori Abe has to move on and not let that loss get to him.

Tokyo Korakuen Hall

0. Under Match: Mizuki Watase & Hideki Okatani Vs Yukio Naya & Keigo Nakamura
1. 4 Way Tag Match: Yukio Sakaguchi & Saki Akai Vs Soma Takao & Mad Paulie Vs Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata Vs Danshoku Dieno & Antonio Honda
2. D-Ou Grand Prix 2021 – A Block: Konosuke Takeshita Vs Daisuke Sasaki
3. D-Ou Grand Prix 2021 – A Block: HARASHIMA Vs Chris Brookes
4. D-Ou Grand Prix 2021 – A Block: Akito Vs MAO
5. D-Ou Grand Prix 2021 – B Block: Tetsuya Endo Vs Jun Akiyama
6. D-Ou Grand Prix 2021 – B Block: Kazusada Higuchi Vs Yuki Ueno
7. D-Ou Grand Prix 2021 – B Block: Makoto Oishi Vs Shunma Katsumata

I was invited to record a preview podcast of the D-Ou Grand Prix for subscribers to the Wrestling Omakase patreon. Had plenty to talk about with each of the participants and what matches we think you should look forward to. They will also be covering the tournament with podcast coverage after every show on the patreon.

The majority of the wrestlers made public comments about the tournament today. In the B Block, Jun Akiyama is being targeted by everyone. Tetsuya Endo is certain their opening match will determine who makes the final. Endo says if beats Akiyama he will abstain from all remaining block matches. But if he loses to Akiyama then he will forfeit his remaining block matches. I can’t tell if we’re supposed to take this seriously based on DAMNATION’s recent broken stipulations.

Soma Takao’s motivation is down. Nothing can match the high he got from wrestling CIMA then teaming with him to beat HARASHIMA & Naomichi Marufuji. No prize money for winning the Grand Prix isn’t helping either. Yuki Ueno has become more conscious of wins and losses since becoming the new DDT UNIVERSAL Champion. He believes Endo thinks the same. Shunma Katsumata’s confidence has grown ever since he got compliments from Akiyama. He hopes he will get Akiyama to join the DDT Sauna Club.

Kazusada Higuchi said he will beat Akiyama because he will not give up the top spot to somebody who is on the verge of finishing his wrestling career in Japan. Oishi revealed he volunteered to enter the Grand Prix. He has never done a round robin tournament before so he wants to show everyone what he’s got. Akiyama wants to win every match, reach the final and win the whole thing. If he can’t beat Endo then he won’t be able to win the tournament.

Over in the A Block, Konosuke Takeshita has been questioning himself ever since his loss at “ULTIMATE PARTY 2020”. Is his chosen path the wrong one? He cannot take a new step until he goes back to Akiyama. Daisuke Sasaki said he has a secret weapon to win. It’s roll ups. HARASHIMA has had a tough go throughout 2020. He lost the KO-D Openweight Title in January and couldn’t wrestle as much as he wanted because of the epidemic. He is also coming off a loss at “ULTIMATE PARTY 2020” so he is motivated to win the Grand Prix.

Chris Brookes admitted he does not want to wrestle Akiyama in the final. He’s sure Akiyama will beat him up. He does want to face Ueno again so he’d love to see him win the other block. MAO thinks he was entered into last year’s tournament on a fluke. This year he thinks he is worthy to be a part of it. He is looking forward to his first singles match against Brookes. Akito was to make an ordinary tournament look extraordinary. Yukio Sakaguchi sent a message that just said “Kill everyone!”
