1. Tanomusaku Toba, Naoshi Sano & Shinichiro Wakita defeated Ben McCoy, Yanni Gianos & Hollywood GOTA when Toba pinned GOTA with the Buzzsaw Kick (9:53).
2. Ganbare☆Climax – Round 2: GENTARO defeated Takafumi Ito with a High Angle Forward Rotation Cradle (11:02).
3. Ganbare☆Climax – Round 2: KENSO defeated Kendo Kashin by Counout (12:20).
4. Ganbare The Great, Ganbare The Shooter & HARUKAZE defeated Chikara, Yukinori Abe & Yumehiro Imanari when Shooter submitted Imanari with the Ganbare The Expression Cross Armbreaker (10:36).
5. Ganbare☆Climax – Round 2: Ken Ohka defeated KAZMA SAKAMOTO with the Fire Spear (14:59).
6. Ganbare☆Climax – Round 2: Dave Crist defeated Shinichiro Tominaga with the Magdalene (16:11).

Day 2 of the Ganbare☆Climax focused on the quarter finals of the tournament. The main event saw Shinichiro Tominaga and Dave Crist getting the spotlight as the final match in the 2nd round. Tominaga tried playing mind games by daring Crist to grapple with him on the ground. That didn’t work because Crist has MMA experience. Tominaga later tried to convince Crist to take it easy on him because he has a daughter. That also didn’t work because Crist didn’t see the daughter anywhere in the room. Tominaga finally got something going when he convinced the referee to check on Crist’s shoes. The pause in action gave Tominaga the chance to do a Jumping Cutter to Crist while his guard down. Crist kicked out and hit the Square And Compass but Tominaga kicked out too. Crist then hit the Magdalene to eliminate Tominaga from the tournament. Crist brought Shigehiro Irie into the ring to translate his victory speech. He said Tominaga was a terribly strong wrestler. When Crist got on his flight to Japan he was worried he wouldn’t get to fight a good hand like Tominaga. Crist ended the speech by saying “We’re family! We are Ganbare Pro!”

Ken Ohka’s strong run continued with a victory over KAZMA SAKAMOTO. He countered the Michinoku Driver II with a Dragon Suplex then definitively put down his opponent with a Lariat, a Vertical Drop Brainbuster and finally the Fire Spear.

KENSO Vs Kendo Kashin. How those words when spoken aloud by Shota didn’t scare off the audience I will never know. Today Kashin weighed in at 120kg, way up from the 48kg he claimed to be at the day before. Kashin saw that KENSO’s shoulder was taped up and asked if he was allowed to attack it. When KENSO ignored him to try and get the fans to chant his name, Kashin decided that he could target the body part. The fans also chanted for Kashin which made KENSO angry. The two brawled outside and risked getting counted out. KENSO made it back in on time but when Kashin was about to re-enter on the 19th second, Mitsuo Momota came out and pulled Kashin away from the ring. KENSO was declared the winner by countout. Kashin challenged Momota to a 5 Vs 5 match between Ganbare☆Wrestling and NEW to be held at Sumo Hall with Yukinori Matsui as the referee. Matsui wouldn’t agree to it. Kashin then challenged Momota & Chikara to a match tomorrow. Momota accepted. Yumehito Imanari offered to be Kashin’s tag partner for the bout and he accepted him.

GENTARO Vs Takafumi Ito was mostly ground based with GENTARO coming out on top with a Forward Roll counter to Ito’s Cradle pin attempt.

Tomorrow’s semi-finals are Ken Ohka Vs GENTARO and Dave Crist Vs KENSO.

6. Ganbare☆Climax – Round 1: KAZMA SAKAMOTO defeated Tanomusaku Toba with the Michinoku Driver II (7:37).
7. Ganbare☆Climax – Round 1: Shinichiro Tominaga defeated Shuichiro Katsumura with a Frankensteiner (13:36).
8. Ganbare☆Climax – Round 1: Ken Ohka defeated Yumehito Imanari with the Fire Spear (13:35).

This weekend is a hot one all over Tokyo especially in the ring. Sure there is a gigantic wrestling tournament down the road heading into its final stages but Ganbare☆Wrestling had something to offer too. The first ever Ganbare☆Climax admittedly does not have any prizes for the winner but everybody competing in it wanted to fight to their best abilities.

The main event saw two close friends battling it out for supremacy. Yumehito Imanari’s wrestling gear had a slight upgrade with brand new white boots and shinpads but he’s still wrestling in his denim shorts. Ken Ohka came close to losing when he was put in a Chicken Wing Arm Lock and was warned by the referee that the match could be stopped if he didn’t respond. Ohka was able to crawl to the ropes and break the hold. Ohka ducked a Lariat and threw Imanari with a pair of Dragon Suplexes. After that the Fire Spear ended the match and Ohka was through to the next round.

Shuichiro Katsumura Vs Shinichiro Tominaga was the longest match of the show by just one second, beating out the main event. Tominaga got desperate late in the match when he placed his feet on the ropes for leverage during a School Boy pin. Katsumura lost his temper at Tominaga’s cheating and went straight on the attack. Tominaga used the referee Daisuke Kiso as a shield to stop Katsumura, then he leaped over him for a Frankensteiner to get the pin. Katsumura protested to Kiso but the result stood.

KAZMA SAKAMOTO was a good sport to Tanomusaku Toba after their match. SAKAMOTO took Toba’s best punches and got the win with the Michinoku Driver II. He praised Toba for his performance afterwards.

Chikara was accompanied by his father Mitsuo Momota for his match against Kendo Kashin. Kashin’s weight was announced as 48kg. He also thought he was going to fight Momota instead of Chikara. Kashin continued to glare at Momota throughout the match. He brought in a chair and when the ref’s back was turned, threw it at Momota and blamed him for a phantom chair shot. While the ref argued with Momota, Chikara tried to avoid Kashin’s chair swinging but eventually got caught. Kashin submitted Chikara with a Chicken Wing Arm Lock but refused to let go until Momota stopped him.

KENSO caught Ben McCoy’s Missile Dropkick and turned it into a Leg Lock for the submission victory. KENSO goaded McCoy at the start by asking for a handshake and then cheap shotting him. He later attacked him with a chair outside the ring.

Yukihiro Abe was having a bad weekend. Not only was he eliminated in the first round by Dave Crist but he had to miss this year’s Comiket to compete in the tournament. Crist countered Abe’s Sister Abigail into the Square And Compass to win.

Takafumi Ito was displeased to be paired with Hollywood GOTA in the first round. This sloppy wrestler isn’t going to provide a challenge for him. He was proven right when GOTA slipped off the top rope. Ito quickly applied a Sleeper Hold and the referee stopped the match for GOTA’s safety. Ito goes through.

GENTARO and Shinichiro Wakita kicked off the tournament with a respectful back and forth match. GENTARO encouraged Wakita to fight him with all he’s got but the skill gap between them was clear to see. GENTARO blocked a Brainbuster and finished with a German Suplex to advance.

Tormorrow’s 2nd Round matches are Shinichiro Tominaga Vs Dave Crist, KENSO Vs Kendo Kashin, KAZMA SAKAMOTO Vs Ken Ohka and Takafumi Ito Vs GENTARO.

Six months passed and she reemerged this week to promote her debut match to be held in September. Kawamura was born in Yokohama, Kanagawa on 26th December, 1995. She is 161cm high and her blood type is O. Away from wrestling, Kawamura is part of an idol group who all wear masks for their opponents, which explains the Jason hockey mask that is part of her outfit. Her aim isn’t to be a cute idol but a cool pro wrestler instead.

7. Ganbare☆Climax – Round 1G: Hollywood GOTA Vs Takafumi Ito
8. Ganbare☆Climax – Round 1H: Shinichiro Wakita Vs GENTARO

The end of the summer in Japanese wrestling means only one thing. But this isn’t that thing. We know, we know, Sumo Hall will be bumping and jumping for the final nights of that major wrestling tournament. But elsewhere in Tokyo, Ganbare☆Wrestling will be hosting a three day tournament of their own. Complete coincidence. It’s only called the Ganbare☆Climax because it is being held at the end of summer, hence the climax. This lot wouldn’t dare dream of plagiarising another wrestling company.

The big match to look out for in Round 1 is Ken Ohka Vs Yumehito Imanari. The two are good friends and usually wrestle together as a team rather than opponents. However there is a casual rivalry between them and Imanari is fired up to step out of his buddy’s shadow.

Shota participated in the 1st Round draw and said Chikara Vs Kendo Kashin is his most anticipated match. He wished he could see it tomorrow if he could.

*Keisuke Ishii will cash in his Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract.

Keisuke Ishii spent today training with Kaz Hayashi in the WRESTLE-1 Dojo. The purpose of the training was for Ishii to properly learn how to do the Final Cut. Ishii found the experience nostalgic because it reminded him of his days training at the All Japan dojo. Hayashi then showed Ishii a special whole body exercise he calls the “secret of his youth”. Afterwards they went to Final Cut training with Yuki Ueno being used as the victim. Although Wikipedia describes the hold as a focused elbow movement, Hayashi says the arm should be moved more like you are throwing a Lariat. He also talked about learning the move from Shane Helms during his time in WCW. When Hayashi brought the move to Japan he named it the Final Cut without Shane’s permission. When the session was over both Ishii and Hayashi were pleased with the results. Ueno was just sore. Ishii said he will use the move in his title match when the opportunity presents itself.

DAMNATION get the next shot at the KO-D Tag Team Titles. The duo in action are the two heavyweights, Shuji Ishikawa & Mad Paulie.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “BRAND NEW WRESTLING ~THE BEGINNING OF THE NEW ERA~”, 26/08/2017
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Special Single Match: Miyu Yamashita Vs Meiko Satomura

A singles match between Miyu Yamashita and Meiko Satomura is set for Tokyo Joshi Pro’s return to Korakuen Hall this August. The match was made because of an incident that happened between the two at “JUDGEMENT 2017” back in March. Satomura pinned Yamashita in a trios match then kicked her afterwards. Satomura at the time requested a singles match and finally it is happening. Yamashita looks up to Satomura and is happy to get the opportunity to fight her. Satomura on the other hand does not have as many nice things to day about her opponent. She remembers challenging Yamashita for a match but now is just treating it like any other match. Doesn’t matter if it’s in Korakuen or Saitama Super Arena, it’s all the same to her. She hasn’t seen any of Yamashita’s matches since they fought and her opinion of the girl hasn’t changed. Satomura’s comments upset Yamashita so much she had to fight back tears as she responded. She may feel miserable now but she is excited to fight Satomura again. It was a big deal for her and Shoko Nakajima to fight with Satomura and Aja Kong at Saitama. Yamashita now wants to bring in new fans to Tokyo Joshi by fighting outside wrestlers like Satomura.

3. World Of Professional Wrestling Strongest Animal Playoff: “Kotori” defeated J-Soul Pandita III IV with the Bird Ridge (7:45).
4. Rebound Queen Cherry Tree Runway Vs Transformation And Goddesses: Shinichiro Tominaga & Ai Shimizu defeated Yumehito Imanari & Emi Sakura when Tominaga pinned Imanari with the JK (7:45).
5. Special 6-Man Tag Team Match: Osamu Namiguchi, Shibata & GENTARO defeated Ken Ohka, Shota & Mitomi Masayuki when Namiguchi pinned Shota with the Lanaila-X (16:45).

GENTARO surprised everyone in Ganbare☆Wrestling by joining forces with Osamu Namiguchi. GENTARO was working with Ganpuro as an official wrestling counselor for the roster but now he is helping Namiguchi prove his superiority over the company. They along with Shibata were able to do that in the 6-Man Tag main event. Shibata trapped his former Enjo-gun partner Mitomi Masayuki in a Cross Armbreaker while GENTARO did the same to Ken Ohka. That gave Namiguchi all the time in the world beat Shota with the Lanakila-X. Namiguchi added insult to injury by stepping on both Ohka and Imanari to celebrate while Shibata filmed it with his GoPro camera. Namiguchi then kicked Ohka while calling him a disposable wrestler who is only getting a KO-D Tag Team Title shot at Sumo Hall because of KAI. He said he might show up at Ganpuro’s Korakuen Hall show so he can see the company in its final days and tell them “Thank you for the good memories!” Namiguchi had crawled up from the bottom sipping mud to become a pro wrestler. He’s been kicked and beaten but guys like him, GENTARO and Shibata all know how it feels to be a pro wrestler unlike the people in Ganpuro who try to hog the glory. When they left, Ohka got back to his feet and was upset by the accusations. Ohka likes pro wrestling and he supports pro wrestling. Ganpuro is his wrestling life and he has precious support from guys like Shota, Masayuki and Shinichiro Tominaga to back him up. On 2nd October at Korakuen Hall Ohka will crush Namiguchi because Ganbare☆Wrestling is a major sport!

Ai Shimizu received a warm applause for her first match since getting married to DDT announcer Mic Inoue. Yumehito Imanari congratulated her before their tag match but then used his speech as an excuse to to flirt with Emi Sakura. She was left insulted by his lines and began the attack to start the match. Sakura then took pause to congratulate Shimizu before going back to attacking Imanari who wouldn’t take her seriously. Imanari was left to regret his behavior when Sakura was able to put him in a Romero Special. Shinichiro Tominaga later finished the job with a Reverse DDT and the JK. Sakura said she was mortified by Imanari’s behavior but he did show some ability out there. Imanari proclaimed his love for her and thinks them getting married would be the best news in pro wrestling. Shimizu was impressed at how fast men seem to fall for Sakura and she should be happy. Sakura was just annoyed by the whole thing.

Ohka approached Tominaga after his match to announce his opponent at Korakuen Hall. Tominaga will face Shiori Asahi from K-DOJO! Tominaga has a brief history with Asahi going back to his college wrestling club days. Five years later he now has a chance to see how he’s grown in comparison.

In the opening match Yukihiro Abe was given a chance to have some fun after spending months as an angst ridden sidekick to Minoru Fujita. He came out wearing a Haruhi Suzumiya costume to fit in with his opponent Rainbow Kawamura. However the match became less friendly when both wrestlers pulled each other’s wigs off and threw them at each other. Abe applied a Sleeper Hold but Kawamura pulled out an adult manga to distract him and escape. There was more nonsense with Abe getting stripped down to his blue striped underwear as the match progressed. Kawamura sprayed him in the face with disinfectant but during a scramble of pinning holds Abe got the three count with a Backslide he calls the Endless Eight. Thankfully this Endless Eight only lasts three seconds. After the match Abe told everyone that cosplaying and being a transvestite are two different things. He was also in a rush because he wanted to go to Comiket and buy a fanzine from his favourite writer.

The Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~ tournament began with four matches, two from each group. In the main event Takumi Tsukamoto fought with Hiroshi Fukuda for almost 20 minutes until a Tiger Suplex won him the match. Fukuda was no joke here and Tsukamoto collapsed in exhaustion afterwards. He praised Fukuda for bring strong and wondered how similar the Perfect Plex is to his own Fisherman Suplex.

Isami Kodaka’s injured left eye was targeted by Yusuke Kubo throughout their match. Kodaka countered the Goro Suplex into a European Clutch for the victory and credited Dick Togo for teaching him how to win matches that way.

Ryuichi Sekine countered SAGAT’s Goregrind with a High Kick and the Ryusetsu to win his first match of the tournament. Sekine said he will ride on a horse to victory and become the new ace of BASARA. SAGAT grunted a lot in his post-match interview but did say enough to warn his remaining opponents he will become more violent.

After the opening exchange between Daichi Kazato and Ryu Gouma had finished Gouma shouted “Ladies and gentlemen this is wrestling!” He then left the ring and requested Kazato to fight him outside. Gouma’s plan for the tournament is to win or tie all of his matches by countout. Kazato didn’t fall for the plan but later in the match Gouma was able to drag him out of the ring. However the plan backfired and Kazato made it back to the ring and left Gouma outside to get counted out.

The new KO-D Openweight Champion has a busy schedule ahead of him. Daisuke Sasaki now has two championships to defend and his “pet” Shuji Ishikawa won’t be there to protect him all the time. To remedy this Sasaki got himself a second “pet” to guard him from the other Right To Challenge Contract holders. All Sasaki has said about his new pet is it’s cute and he thinks it’s male. He’s unsure if he will obtain any more pets after this one because he’s running out of space in his home.

After three years and nine months as a unit, Team Drift have decided to split after their latest failed attempt to chase after a championship. Keisuke Ishii feels that Drift have stagnated as a team. Shigehiro Irie said he now feels lonely after the decision but he has to face reality. Soma Takao thinks he needs to take this chance to grow after he failed to win anything in the Right To Challenge Rumble at “JUDGEMENT 2016”. Their final match as a unit will take place on 29th May but until then they will have a farewell series of matches on DDT shows. Ken Ohka demanded to be inserted into one of Drift’s final matches when he found out about their dissolution. He’s even willing to reform #OhkaEmpire for the occasion.

They also believe to know the champions’ weakness. Although Sasaki & Ishikawa are both strong as individuals, their stamina does not match. Smile Squash thinks that Ishikawa’s large size is actually his weakness because he sweats a lot! If they can tire out Ishikawa and leave him in a dehydrated state they can then beat Sasaki and win the titles.
