MAO and Kazuki Hirata have been chosen to compete in the vacant DDT Extreme Title match. MAO thinks it is fitting to be the next person to hold the title after Katsumata. Hirata understands that would be lovely story telling but that doesn’t matter because he is going to win it instead! He expects the match to be so exciting it will help Katsumata recover quicker.

Now in his 30s, Tetsuya Endo is starting to notice it takes longer for him to recover from his matches so it motivates him to see the next generation rise. That is why he wants to face Nick Wayne in a singles match for Wayne’s DDT debut in Japan to keep him sharp for Matt Cardona in July.

Sanshiro Takagi wants to team up with Eruption one time before Saki Akai’s retirement takes place. His King Of DDT match against Sakaguchi also inspired him to come up with the idea. Ryota Nakatsu is looking forward to facing Takagi because he likes fighting his bosses. Just ask Isami Kodaka in BASARA.

The combined power of the Pearl Harbour Splash followed by the Somato won the main event for HARASHIMA & Jun Kasai. The match was a special occasion for Kasai because today is his 44th birthday! HARASHIMA then said today is also his mother’s birthday! He also promised to follow Kasai on Twitter, which he did after the show.

Keisuke Ishii interviewed Yoshihiko after their victory. Ishii pointed out that neither of them are part of any of the units in this year’s Dramatic General Election. He asked if Yoshihiko is interested in forming a new unit with him but he only got silence in return.

Kazusada Higuchi used his sumo strength to push Yuki Iino full force into the turnbuckles to beat him.

Match #3 was supposed to be a Battle Of Wimbledon match but there was no tennis equipment available in the venue. Instead they found a basketball and created the Odawara Tornado Tag Match. For every second a wrestler gets in a pin attempt, they get a free throw at the basketball hoop next to the ring. Nobody was able to make the shot and the match ended in a draw after ten minutes. A sudden death shootout determined the winning team. Tomomatsu Matsunaga was the only person to make his shot so Booing 2018 won!

He will certainly end up having a DDT Extreme Title defence but against who is the big question.

Tokyo Joshi In King Of Trios, Brahmans Challenge For Tag Titles, Weapon Rumble Returns

Over the weekend Tokyo Joshi Pro sent over three of their best to America so they can enter Chikara’s annual King Of Trios tournament in Easton, Pennsylvania. This year’s edition of the tournament was Star Wars themed so Miyu Yamashita, Shoko Nakajima & Yuka Sakazaki were called the Tokyo Joshi Freedom Fighters. On Night 1 they main evented the show by beating The Shimmer Collective of Madison Eagles, Shazza McKenzie, and Jessica Troy. Sakazaki pinned McKenzie with the Magical Magical Girl Splash. On Night 2, the Freedom Fighters won again by defeating The New Republic of Los Ice Creams and Kikutaro when Yamashita pinned Kikutaro with the Crash Rabbit Heat. Sadly on Night 3 the girls were eliminated in the semifinals by Australia’s Ancient Order of the Nations consisting of Mick Moretti, Jack Bonza, and Adam Hoffman. Nakajima was pinned by Hoffman after the Order used their version of the Anthill triple team finisher.

Takagi and MAO’s feud this year has escalated from MAO hitting Takagi with a van to Takagi crashing a car into another car with MAO still inside. It all happened within the context of wrestling matches so somehow no crimes were caused. Funny how that works. The efforts of both men to prove that they are the craziest wrestler in DDT is getting too much for everyone else to handle so a final battle has to take place. The dreaded Weapon Rumble is what’s needed to determine who is crazier. MAO claims this is the match stipulation that made him want to be a DDT wrestler.

Meiko Satomura, Tanomusaku Toba, Keisuke Okuda and Maki Ito are all booked on the show.

Daisuke Sasaki told Konosuke Takeshita he is the same C level garbage wrestler as Ken Ohka. The two of them are only good for keeping Sasaki entertained in the 3 Way Match before he wins one of their championships.

Producer Danshoku Dino decided that today’s tag match against HARASHIMA was going to be another Falls Count Anywhere Match. While those two were fighting, both Keisuke Ishii and Soma Takao found Pico Pico Hammers beneath the ring and attacked each other with them. Takao won because he had the bigger hammer. HARASHIMA and Dino took the fight outside where HARASHIMA covered both of his arms with traffic cones and swung them at Dino. They ended up fighting up to the 2nd floor balcony inside the arena. HARASHIMA knocked Dino down some steps then flattened him with the Somato to win. HARASHIMA said he has now beaten Dino twice in Falls Count Anywhere matches. This is good practice for the Factory Pro Wrestling Match.

The Tower Of Terror is the name for the Electric Chair Choke Slam double team move used by Shigehiro Irie & Kazusada Higuchi. Today was the first time they won a match with the move.

Joey Ryan was able to break out of Yukio Sakaguchi’s submission moves by shoving a lollipop into his mouth. Sakaguchi overpowered Ryan and put him in a Cross Armbreaker. He then transitioned into a Triangle Choke and forced Ryan to eat his own lollipop to make him submit.

Also he is giving Amon Tsurumi an opportunity to return to his role as General Manager but Tsurumi has to wrestle for it. Tsurumi does not need to win to get his job back, he only has to do a good enough job convincing Producer Dino that he deserves it.

Some extra rules have been established for the brand new KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles. After the first champions were crowned Dino quickly realised how difficult it will be to schedule all five members of the team to appear at the same shows on a regular basis. In this situation, only Makoto Oishi & Ken Ohka can be relied on for regular DDT bookings at this moment in time. LiLiCo, Lady Beard and Super Sasadango Machine all have conflicting schedules. So the plan is title defences will be endorsed if at least 3 members of the defending team including the team captain are available. The remaining spots on the team can be filled by temporary replacements. However the replacements will not be recognised as champions themselves. Any successful defences will be credited to the original champions even when they are absent.

It is a 3 Way Match with the KO-D Openweight Title, DDT Extreme Title and Independent World Jr. Title all on the line! The winner will become a double champion, taking the title from whoever he pins or submits. The odd man out will escape the match with their respective championship still in their grasp. In the case that Ohka loses his championship in Ganpuro a few days before this show, he agrees to put his entire life savings of 664,111 yen on the line instead.

1. Odawara Castle Siege Match: Narita Nagachika (Sanshiro Takagi), Princess Kai (Hiroyo Matsumoto) defeated Hojo Ujimasa (Akito) Vs Ishida Mitsunari (Danshoku Dino), Toyotomi Hideyoshi (Michael Nakazawa) & Date Masamune (DJ Nira) when Kai pinned Hideyoshi with a Liger Bomb (15:07).
2. 3 Way Match: Takao Soma defeated Makoto Oishi and Hiroshi Fukuda when Soma pinned Fukuda with the Boma Ye (6:18).
3. Kota Ibushi defeated Tetsuya Endo with a Dragon Sleeper (9:23).
4. Shigehiro Irie defeated Masa Takanashi with the Turbo Drop II (13:26).
5. Kenny Omega & Gota Ihashi defeated Antonio Honda & Daisuke Sasaki when Omega pinned Honda with the Croyt’s Wrath (12:15).
6. MIKAMI defeated Keisuke Ishii by Pinfall (11:05).
7. KO-D Tag Team Titles: HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano (c) defeated Shuji Ishikawa & FUMA when Urano pinned FUMA with the Tombstone Piledriver (19:26).
*V2 for UraShima.

Yasu Urano & HARASHIMA landed a second defence of the KO-D Tag Team Titles against former partner FUMA and his giant pal Shuji Ishikawa. Urano offered peace with FUMA afterwards, thanking him for taking KUDO’s spot in Ura-Shima-Kudo while he was injured. He also told FUMA he was still a friend of the group.

The MAGP, which is a new MVP award handed out by Tsurumi Amon after every show was today given to Yasu Urano. A loose translation of the name can be Most Amon-Impressed Player. The award includes a cash prize of 500 Yen.

Kenny Omega asked the fans to wish him luck for his upcoming trip to England where he will wrestle Zack Sabre Jr. in 4FW.

“Teacher” Sanshiro Takagi has promised to present more historical themed matches for future events.

FUMA Fuming Over Urano, HARASHIMA Prepares For Golden Rendezvous

Tensions are brewing between Yasu Urano and FUMA over whether or not the latter is part of the Ura-Shima-Kudo group now that KUDO is returning from injury. It got so bad that Urano gave FUMA the Tombstone Piledriver after their match at “SWEET DREAMS!” Here in Chiba they will settle some of their differences in the ring. But that won’t be the only upcoming match involving the two.

Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi & Gota Ihashi now have a name for their stable. They are called the Golden Rendezvous.
