Daisuke Sasaki came up with a match idea for his DDT Extreme Title defence but got drunk afterwords and forgot about it.

3. When It Is A Match! Show Me Ganbare Soul!: Ken Ohka & Gota Ihashi Vs Kenso Ohka & KAZMA SAKAMOTO

Ganbare☆Wrestling is attempting to bring back its Ganbare☆Joshi brand. The joshi project came about for a show two years ago but nothing had been done with it since. After witnessing female shootboxers from around the world at the RIZIN Martial Arts EXPO, Ganpuro was inspired to bring the project back. This time Ganbare☆Joshi will be built around a brand new masked wrestler Ken Ohka is raising from scratch. The wrestler is actually Haruka Kato and she even admits as such but she is willing to reinvent herself. Her dream is to wrestle overseas and she hopes this experiment will help her achieve it. She hopes her new name will be something world class like Asuka. Her “debut” match will be against Kaori Yoneyama.

More details on the first Ganbare☆Climax emerged today. It will be a 16 man tournament open to both domestic and foreign wrestlers. Several Ganpuro wrestlers will participate but they will also be looking out for strong talent to fill in the remaining spots. It is a complete coincidence that a tournament of this calibur is taking place in Tokyo on the 11th, 12th and 13th August. Nope, no attempt at riding on another tournament’s coat tails here. None at all. Ken Ohka chose this date only because he wants to have wrestling on in the summer and the Climax refers to the end of summer. Nothing else!

1. Toru Owashi & Hirata Collection A.T. defeated Keisuke Ishii & Masahiro Takanashi when Hirata submitted Takanashi with the Hirata Lock (7:56).
2. 3 Way Match: Mike Bailey defeated Tetsuya Endo and Makoto Oishi when Bailey pinned Oishi with a Switching Cradle (9:27).
3. Hell Gate Of The Idol Challenge: Danshoku Dino defeated Shunma Katsumata with the Gotch-Style Danshoku Driver (11:15).
4. KUDO & Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Soma Takao & Kouki Iwasaki when Sakaguchi submitted Iwasaki with a Cross Armbreaker (11:12).
5. Daisuke Sasaki & Mad Paulie defeated Antonio Honda & Shigehiro Irie when Sasaki submitted Honda with La Mistica Cross Facelock (17:04).
6. Tsukuba Specialty! Gama Oil Selling Special 3 Way Tag Match: Konosuke Takeshita & Akito defeated HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano Vs Kazusada Higuchi & MAO when Urano pinned MAO with the Tombstone Piledriver (14:34).

Yasu Urano confirms that he will be cashing in his Right To Challenge Contract on 28th May, filling in the spot originally left for Yoshihiro Takayama before he was injured. Urano is aware that Sanshiro Takagi and Nobuhiro Shimatani could spoil his plans with their own cash ins. But the bigger threat is coming from Kazusada Higuchi. With Takayama out of action, Higuchi thinks he can take his place in the Korakuen Hall main event. Urano tried to make him reconsider by bringing up next week’s DNA show. Higuchi will be facing Mike Bailey in the main event and Bailey has beaten him before. Urano asked Higuchi over and over if he is sure he won’t lost his contract before 28th May. Higuchi is convinced he won’t lose to anyone. Urano then said that he was told by Takayama himself to cash in the title shot on 28th May. So Urano struck a deal. If Higuchi lets Urano have the 28th May title match then Higuchi can cash in his shot at the June Korakuen show. Higuchi is confident he will still have his contract by then so he agreed.

Daisuke Sasaki shoved the referee into Antonio Honda to stop him from hitting the Diving Fist Drop. He then kicked Honda below the belt and locked in La Mistica Cross Facelock. Sasaki did come up with a stipulation for his upcoming DDT Extreme Title defence against Honda but forgot it after a hard night’s drinking. He hates Honda telling his fairytales during matches so maybe it has something to do with that.

KUDO acknowledges that both Soma Takao & Kouki Iwasaki are getting stronger but not at Shuten-dōji’s level.

The match between Shunma Katsumata and Danshoku Dino broke down when Dino knocked out the referee with a Lip Lock intended for his opponent. Dino took the chance to grab the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Title belt and use it as a weapon but Katsumata stopped him with a Dropkick. The rest of NωA came in to help Katsumata and triple teamed Dino until the referee recovered. Dino took all of Katsumata’s attacks then grabbed the belt again this time to distract the referee. Katsumata went for the Swan Dive X Factor but Dino caught him with the Lip Lock. He then hit the Gotch-Style Piledriver to win the match.

Mike Bailey thinks beating Makoto Oishi is an easy task. But he still wants to fight Tetsuya Endo again.

Hirata Collection A.T. revealed the name of his invisible dog. He calls it Wan-chan which I think is the Japanese equivalent of just naming it Doggy. Hirata submitted Masahiro Takanashi for the third time in a row. Takanashi is so frustrated by this that he wants a singles match with Hirata and banish him from Japan! Takanashi has an awkward history with Italian wrestlers in DDT. If that’s not enough Takanashi also wants to prohibit all of Kazuki Hirata’s relatives from entering Japan to stop any more replacements coming in.

*Masakatsu Funaki & Yukio Sakaguchi fail in V3. New No Fear becomes the 60th KO-D Tag Team Champions!
7. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) Vs Tetsuya Endo ended in a Time Limit Draw (60:00).
*V2 for Konosuke Takeshita.

60 minutes wasn’t enough to separate Konosuke Takeshita and Tetsuya Endo. Both threw everything they could at each other. Endo even had some minor help from DAMNATION at times and it still wasn’t enough to win. When Takaeshita was about to give Endo the Cross Arm German Suplex at the 35th minute, Daisuke Sasaki distracted the referee so Endo could Low Blow Takeshita to escape the move. Then outside the ring Mad Paulie positioned himself on his hands and knees on the stage so Endo could Moonsault off of him onto Takeshita. Endo then wound the other end when Takeshita Suplexed him onto the ring apron. The match risked ending in a Double Countout until both the champion and challenger crawled back into the ring at the 19 count. Another Double Countout came close after a strike battle briefly knocked out both wrestlers. Endo hit the Shooting Star Press but Takeshita kicked out of it and clung on to Endo’s legs so he couldn’t climb the turnbuckles again. They both wound up on the top rope and Endo hit the Spanish Fly for a nearfall. Takeshita hit a Dragon Suplex, Lariat and busted out the Last Ride but only got a two count. In the final minutes of the match Takeshita went for the Cross Arm German again but Endo pulled out a Kasadora counter for nearfall. As the last few seconds counted down Endo put Takeshita in the Crippler Crossface but the bell rang to end the match. A draw means Takeshita is still the KO-D Openweight Champion but he wasn’t satisfied by the result. He and Endo had one more staredown that ended with Endo lightly slapping his rival then leaving ringside.

An emotionally drained Amon Tsurumi thanked Takeshita for having a great match. Takeshita petted him on the head and said as long as he is still champion he will keep Korakuen Hall full. The pleasant moment was interrupted when Yoshihiro Takayama strolled down to the ring wearing his Right To Challenge gauntlet. He called Takeshita an awesome champion. He’s impressed. But Takayama said that he is a former GHC, IWGP, NWF and Triple Crown Champion. He collects championships and now he is interested in getting the KO-D Openweight Title! When he said he wasn’t cashing in his title shot right now, Makoto Oishi and Nobuhiro Shimatani appeared at the stage entrance. Both were trying to sneak into the ring and cash in their contracts on an unaware Takeshita. Takayama spotted the two and scared them off. Takeshita asked Takayama when he wants his title match. It will happen in Korakuen Hall on 28th May! Takeshita promised Takayama that he won’t lose the KO-D Title until then and he hopes Takeyama will do the same with his RTC contract. If that wasn’t enough, Akito approached Takayama and provoked Takayama. Akito said when he began wrestling he admired Takayama but now he is just boring. He is also sick of seeing Danshoku Dino’s ass everywhere in DDT. Dino stood up for Takayama and argued with Akito. The result of this is New No Fear’s first KO-D Tag Team Title defence will be against ALL OUT on 21st May in Sapporo. Takeshita ended the show by saying although he did not beat Endo, he will settle that problem another day. Until then he will beat Takayama with a German Suplex that is even higher than the Everest German!

The Lip Lock was the gamechanger in the KO-D Tag Team Titles Match. First Dino used the move stopped Yukio Sakaguchi from doing the top rope Right Knee Of God to Takayama. He then gave Sakaguchi a Spider Superplex so he could adjust his posture into the Hell Gate pose. Masakatsu Funaki fought off Dino afterwards but he was still put in the Lip Lock by Takayama. The sight of the move distracted Sakaguchi long enough for Dino to give the Lip Lock to him. Takayama then grabbed Sakaguchi and pinned him with the Everest German. Takayama foreshadowed his Right To Challenge plans when he told Tsurumi after the match that he was too busy to defend the KO-D Tag Titles on the 28th May Korakuen show. Funaki said he won’t be challenging for the titles again until there are new champions. He figured the only way he and Sakaguchi can beat New No Fear is if they also turn gay which according to them is impossible.

Kazusada Higuchi made a big statement by pinning HARASHIMA to win his RTC contract in the special Worldwide Tag Match. With Shigehiro Irie (who entered the ring wearing a Panda mask as some sort of OI4K shoutout) on his side, the combined power was too much for HARASHIMA and Mike Bailey to handle. Higuchi used his strength to block a Reverse Hurricanrana and instead throw HARASHIMA into the turnbuckles. Irie then hit a Running Cannonball to HARASHIMA out of nowhere which gave Higuchi an easy road to hitting the Doctor Bomb. Higuchi explained afterwards that HARASHIMA is only familiar with the RTC contracts when he was the champion. He doesn’t know what it is like to defend the contracts, which is something Higuchi knows a lot. So that’s how Higuchi could beat HARASHIMA today.

Akito wrestled in new wrestling gear which has some oddly placed exposed sections in the hips area. He also added a Modified Omoplata to his arsenal and it is very effective. Soma Takao quickly tapped out to it.

With a little help from Mad Paulie, Heidi Katrina pinned Saki Akai in their first confrontation. Paulie squashed Akai with a Lariat in the corner while Daisuke Sasaki dove out of the ring onto the rest of Akai’s team. Katrina then dropped Akai with an Oklahoma Stampede and pinned her with a Leg Drop. Katrina say she will fight Akai again anytime, anywhere. Sasaki translated her promo and turned it into a more bunch of insults. Sasaki then claimed that Katrina called him kind, brave and masculine.

When NωA and T2Hide faced off there was a lot on the line. NωA were defending the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles and debuting their brand new song “ωe are the HERO”. T2Hide were fighting to prevent Kazuki Hirata from getting kicked out of Japan. Sanshiro Takagi & Toru Owashi sang Hirata’s entrance music but Hirata hated it because it wasn’t good enough to dance to. Everyone from NωA, T2Hide, the referee and even a bunch of other wrestlers all ganged up to stomp on Hirata for being ungrateful. Hirata summoned his music proper but was then pinned by Makoto Oishi. Hirata lost his RTC contract to Oishi and now he has to be deported from Japan! While he was dealing with this, Oishi was attacked by Danshoku Dino and Royce Isaacs. They broke his arm with Isaacs’ Miracle Ass then fled. When that was over with the rest of the roster said their farewells to Hirata and carried him away from ringside. Takagi ignored Hirata’s protests to congratulate him on his new beginnings. He then told the audience to please look forward to the next chapter of “Dr. Kazuki Hirata’s” adventures.

Before the 5 Way Match took place, Dino and Isaacs sent a warning to the rest of the competitors. Isaacs used his Miracle Ass to split a pair of chopsticks. Then when Ryuichi Sekine walked into the room Dino grabbed his arm and Isaacs broke it with his Miracle Ass. In the match itself Isaacs went on a streak of breaking arms that would make Penta el Zero M jealous. The streak was ended when Antonio Honda grabbed Isaacs’ arm, stuck it under his own shoulder strap and used his chest to pop the arm. He then pinned Isaacs with a Small Package to become the No. 1 Contender for the DDT Extreme Title. Nice guy Honda then popped everyone’s arms back into place after the match.

Yuki Ueno scored his first ever singles win in the dark match, pinning Daiki Shimomura with a Dropkick. Amon Tsurumi congratulated him afterwards.

DDT is creating a brand new set of championships. If you thought a 6-man Tag Team championship is overdoing it then strap yourselves in and make room for the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Championships! The first champions will be crowned at Sumo Hall on 20th August.

Super Sasadango Machine has recovered from his heart problems and will return to action on 28th May! Sasadango teams with Sanshiro Takagi to face Minoru Suzuki & Rocky Kawamura!

The Street Wrestling match to be held at the Tokyo Dome finally is finally going ahead. On 1st June, Sanshiro Takagi faces Minoru Suzuki and they are free to fight all over the Dome in what is pretty much an Empty Arena match. No fans, no crowds, just the two wrestlers and a cameraman filming the action live for DDT UNIVERSE.

Isami Kodaka will be leaving his job as manager for the Drop Kick Bar in May. Akito is the new manager and he hopes to run a bar that will be full of hospitality for its customers.

1. DNA Tag League Assessment Match: Daiki Shimomura & Nobuhiro Shimatani defeated Guanchulo & Rekka when Shimatani pinned Guanchulo with a School Boy (9:52)
2. For Tomorrow Part 1 ~ GO FOR BROKE: Naomi Yoshimura & Yuki Ueno defeated Shogun Okamoto & Royce Isaacs when Yoshimura pinned Isaacs with the Throw Away Power Bomb (9:34).
3. Awake Your Eyes, Dai Suzuki! Seven Match Trial 2nd Battle: Masato Tanaka defeated Dai Suzuki with the Sliding D (4:46).
4. PROVE YOUR DNA: Kotaro Suzuki & LEONA defeated Mizuki Watase & MAO by Referee Stoppage when LEONA used the Figure Four Leg Lock on Watase (13:35).
5. PREMIUM GIG – Young Hunters Vs Father Hunters: Kazushi Sakuraba & Kendo Kashin defeated Kouki Iwasaki & Mike Bailey when Kashin pinned Iwasaki after the Shooting Star Double Knee Drop from Bailey (7:18).
6. MAIN GIG – The Main Eventer Of NEXT: Kazusada Higuchi defeated Shunma Katsumata with the Goten (20:28).

In the latest battle to determine who is on top of the DNA mountain, Kazusada Higuchi defeated Shunma Katsumata. Higuchi had to fight off every inch of fight his much smaller opponent threw at him. Katsumata tried to wear him down with a Sleeper Hold in between several Swan Dive attacks. Even a Firebird Splash was done but Higuchi was too tough to be put down. He countered the Swan Dive X Factor with a Big Boot, hit a Lariat, then a big German Suplex and won the match with the Goten. As the winner, Higuchi now faces “Speedball” Mike Bailey in the main event of DNA’s Korakuen Hall debut on 10th May. Higuchi lost to Bailey in the DNA Grand Prix final last October. He will prove he is the strongest in DNA when he finally beats Bailey.

There was more masked shenanigans between Kazushi Sakuraba & Kendo Kashin for their match against Kouki Iwasaki & Mike Bailey. In the opening ceremony the man who was allegedly Kashin wearing a Sakuraba mask had a different body type. Then for the match entrances Sakuraba and Kashin were accompanied by two other masked men. The cornermen interfered by spraying Iwasaki and Bailey in the eyes when the ref was distracted. During the confusion, Kashin took off his own mask and placed it over Iwasaki’s face. He then hit Bailey from behind with a chair and exited the ring. Bailey turned around and thought Iwasaki was Kashin so he attacked him, finishing him off with the Shooting Star Double Knee Drop. Sakuraba then put Bailey in a Sleeper while Kashin pinned Iwasaki for the three count. Iwasaki challenged Sakuraba to a match at Korakuen and it was accepted. Backstage Bailey explained to Iwasaki that he had only seen Kashin’s previous matches on smartphones and the bad video quality meant he couldn’t tell who the real Kashin was supposed to be.

An emotional Mizuki Watase refused to tap out of LEONA’s Figure Four Leg Lock leading to Yukinori Matsui stopping the match for safety reasons and awarding the victory to LEONA & Kotaro Suzuki. Watase crawled over to the microphone and yelled at Matsui for stopping the match because he never gave up. Matsui challenged LEONA to a match at Korakuen to settle their differences. He will not lose to LEONA even if his legs break!

Dai Suzuki tried to ambush Masato Tanaka with a chair before their match began. The plan didn’t work and Tanaka was able to beat him easily in under five minutes. Suzuki was left feeling down over his lack of progress. He was then told his next opponent on 10th May will be Go Shiozaki! Suzuki promises to do his best because he can’t afford to lose the remaining matches in his trial series.

The rookie team of Naomi Yoshimura & Yuki Ueno scored a big win over Shogun Okamoto & Royce Isaacs. Yoshimura’s power has caught Okamoto’s attention. Okamoto felt disgusted that he and Isaacs lost the match. He thinks Isaacs is a wonderful wrestler but doesn’t share the same feelings for Yoshimura. Okamoto wants Yoshimura for a singles match and promises to crush him! Yoshimura looks forward to it and said it will be him crushing Okamoto instead!

Nobuhiro Shimatani successfully defended his Right To Challenge contract by pinning Guanchulo in the opening tag match. Sadly this was Guanchulo’s final match in DNA for the time being. He is returning home to Chile for a while. Rekka says he will continue fighting with Guanchulo in his heart.

All aboard! DDT teamed up with Choshi Electric Rail for their latest Street Wrestling experiment. Can you do a pro wrestling free for all inside a moving train? Sure you can! The train journey began in Nakano Town Station and do a full circle around the railway line. The match itself was a Falls Count Anywhere Battle Royal with new wrestlers entering the train at a different station. Pinfalls, submissions and being ejected from the train and left behind at a station were the intended ways to eliminate the opponents. Sanshiro Takagi, Rekka and HARASHIMA were the first entrants to start the match. The three did what they could while they adjusted to the cramped surroundings.

Nobuhiro Shimatani and Yasu Urano entered at Choshi Station. They were already fighting each other at the platform when the train arrived. Urano threw Shimatani against one of the railings and directed the others to do a Train Attack. Keisuke Ishii entered at Nishiinkajima Station and went through an athletic back and forth with Urano. When he switched focus to Takagi, Urano took the opportunity to low blow Shimatani.

The crowd gasped when the train arrived at Kimigahama Station because Mad Paulie was there waiting for them. He clubbed Ishii with a forearm until Urano leapt on his back and applied a Sleeper Hold. Shimatani hit a Standing Shooting Star on Ishii and pinned him while everyone else piled on top. It was ruled that Shimatani gets credited for eliminating Ishii so that means he won Ishii’s Right To Challenge Contract! As this was going on Paulie countered Urano’s Sleeper Hold into an Argentine Backbreaker. He walked up and down the train with Urano in the move until Urano gave up.

At Inabaru Station, Guanchulo was chased onto the train by Danshoku Dino and Royce Isaacs. Rekka tried to stop Dino because it is illegal to grope people on trains. Dino gave him a Lip Lock and the Danshoku Nightmare to eliminated him. NωA were next to enter at Ogawa Station. They sang and dance on the platform while Takagi and HARASHIMA fought over next to them. An old lady on the platform waved everyone off as the train departed. Dino and Isaacs double teamed HARASHIMA and tried to convince Paulie to join in but he attacked them instead. When the train stopped at an empty Kimigahama Station, Dino pushed Paulie out and the train left without him.

Back in the train there was a Headcsissor link formed from one end of the train to the other. Takagi turned everyone over with a Boston Crab link with Isaacs suffering the most at the other end. Isaacs reached over and grabbed a railing which in this situation counted as a Rope Break. Isaacs was then accidentaly given a Lip Lock when Shimatani ducked Dino’s affections. Shimatani then gave Isaacs a School Boy to eliminate him and win his second Right To Challenge Contract!

Saki Akai and Lady Beard got in the train at Kaiokajima Station and they put Shunma Katsumata and MAO in separate Cobra Twists. HARASHIMA grabbed Akai and put her in the Romero Special. Dino used Katsumata and MAO as stepping stones so he could go in position for a human pyramid Hell Gate. Makoto Oishi used it to great effect by pushing Takagi face first into Dino’s backside followed by a successful pinfall. Oishi and Dino then joined forces to form a Revolving Hell Gate on Akai. Katsumata pinned her for the elimination.

The final entrant appeared at Kurosui Station. It was Kazusada Higuchi wearing his sumo mawashi. Lady Beard squared up to him for a Sumo match but Higuchi squeezed him in a Bearhug until he tapped out. All three NωA members combined tried to push Higuchi back but Higuchi shoved them out of the train at Choshi Station for a triple elimination. HARASHIMA looked like he was about to join in the sumo fun but he threw kicks at Higuchi instead. Higuchi rushed in and was knocked down by a High Kick. HARASHIMA then rolled over with a Jackknife to pin Higuchi. HARASHIMA shouted that he won the duel because “This is pro wrestling.”

On the other side of the train Guanchulo pinned Shimatani with a Backslide Pin, winning one of the RTC Contracts. Shimatani still holds the other one so he wasn’t too upset over it. With HARASHIMA and Guanchulo as the final two wrestlers in the match, the train wasn’t far away from its final destination. HARASHIMA hit Guanchulo with a Buzzsaw Kick and followed with the Somato. HARASHIMA won the Train Pro Wrestling Match and gets an RTC Contract as his prize! The train arrived back at Nakano Town Station and HARASHIMA thanked the 40 fans for coming to support them.

4. Our DNA ~ Six Men Full Of Grudges: Akebono, Shogun Okamoto & LEONA defeated Mizuki Watase, Yuki Ueno & Naomi Yoshimura when Akebono pinned Ueno with an Elbow Drop (9:27).
5. PREMIUM GIG TOP OF THE NEXT: Kouki Iwasaki defeated MAO with a Verical Drop Brainbuster (9:53).
6. “THE RIVALS” Each Stand By Me: Shunma Katsumata & Kotaro Suzuki defeated Kazusada Higuchi & Mike Bailey when Katsumata pinned Higuchi with the Kasadora (16:32).

Shunma Katsumata got the surprise pin on Kazusada Higuchi, beating the big man for the first time in his career. Katsumata thanked Kotaro Suzuki for giving him the power in their singles match at “DNA EP.30” to beat Higuchi. He wants to make DNA more exciting by collaborating with Suzuki more in the future. But Higuchi is still in the way. Earlier in the show it was announced that Mike Bailey will main event the DNA Korakuen Hall show on 10th May. Higuchi wants to be Bailey’s opponent so he can avenge his defeat to from last year’s DNA Grand Prix final. Katsumata wants that spot too so he challenged Higuchi to a match on 21st April. The winner will face Bailey at Korakuen.

Kouki Iwasaki got the victory over MAO by rolling out of the way of the Cannonball 450. MAO kicked out of a Soccer Kick but the Vertical Drop Brainbuster afterwards had him beat. Iwasaki said afterwards that he will fight any big names that come to DNA. Suddenly Kazushi Sakuraba appeared. He said he likes to tease people and bully the younger wrestlers in the ring so he’s coming back to DNA on 21st April to bully Iwasaki again. The Gracie Hunter is now the DNA Hunter! He is also bringing somebody to team up with, Kendo Kashin! After the announcement a mystery man in a lion mask ran into the ring and sprayed Iwasaki in the eyes with the cold spray. He then saluted to Sakuraba and ran out of the ring.

Mizuki Watase and LEONA were at each other’s throats for most of the 6-Man Tag. They brawled up to the stage while Akebono took care of Naomi Yoshimura and Yuki Ueno inside the ring.

The YOUNG DONUTS were picked apart by Atsushi Aoki & Hikaru Sato. Guanchulo is happy just to be teaming with Rekka and show off YOUNG DONUTS to the world. In the backstage interview Sato pointed at the DNA logo. He doesn’t know what the D, N, A or GIG stand for but FIGHTING is at the beginning and that means everything to him. Don’t you forget it!

The first match in Dai Suzuki’s 7 bout series ended in failure. Kohei Sato was too scary for Suzuki to stand up to and he was clobbered in under 3 minutes. It’s only going to get worse because opponent #2 is Masato Tanaka!

The match to determine the team leader of Gran MilliMeters ended a bit rougher than intended. Nobuhiro Shimatani suffered a bloody nose after being hit with a Running Elbow Smash from Daiki Shimomura.

2. Soma Takao & Akito defeated Kouki Iwasaki & Guanchulo when Takao pinned Guanchulo with the Gin And Tonic (12:12).
3. Masahiro Takanashi defeated Mad Paulie by Countout (11:07).
4. Real No Fear Vs DNA!: Yoshihiro Takayama & Danshoku Dino defeated Kazusada Higuchi & Mizuki Watase when Takayama pinned Watase with the Running Knee Lift (13:21).
5. Shuten-dōji Vs DAMNATION!: KUDO & Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Daisuke Sasaki & Tetsuya Endo when Sakaguchi pinned Endo with the Right Knee Of God (12:45).
6. Maebashi Specialty! DDT Does Not Know The Gunman Special Tag Match: Konosuke Takeshita & Antonio Honda defeated HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano when Takeshita pinned Urano with the Roll Through German Suplex (20:10).

As the road to Saitama Super Arena continues, Konosuke Takeshita finally gets his first victory over HARASHIMA in their series of tag matches. Takeshita introduced each member of Happy Motels to the audience after the match and also included Yumehito Imanari who was working as the cameraman. Takeshita hopes he will return to Maebashi as the KO-D Openweight Champion for a singles match.

Tetsuya Endo refused to answer any questions during the entire post-match interview after he was pinned by Yukio Sakaguchi.

Danshoku Dino teased Kazusada Higuchi before their match, bragging that Yoshihiro Takayama is with him instead of Higuchi. Higuchi tried to convince him that he didn’t care but Takayama misunderstood and asked Higuchi why he wants his lips so much? Mizuki Watase also made it awkward by telling Higuchi they could be a couple too. When Dino & Takayama won the match Dino said that they are quickly becoming an established couple. Takayama said he is free to love anyone. He then told Higuchi he will not turn to a guy who can’t kiss in public.

Masahiro Takanashi used Mad Paulie’s collar to tie his feet together outside the ring, counting him out. When Paulie was freed by one of the trainees after the match he attacked him with Hammer Punches.

Soma Takao & Akito are both confident they will win the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles in Saitama because neither of them have been pinned since Takao joined Smile Squash.

After spending so long in dark matches, Nobuhiro Shimatani now wants to do whatever he can to stand out and gain the attention of everybody. His first attempt at this was joining in with Kazuki Hirata’s dancing entrance. He joined in with the dance again during the match until both he and Hirata were rolled over into a double pin by Makoto Oishi.

DDT New Attitude is now Fighting Gig DNA! The development brand for DDT took a big step towards establishing themselves as its own product. With S.P.E. Entertainment managing the events, DNA redesigned its logo and now has its own new theme song. Also some of the wrestlers came out with new gear and entrance music. The show began with all 18 wrestlers lining up while the guest ring announcer Masahiro Ehara announced the beginning of DNA’s next story.

dna30-higuchi-yoshimura

In the build-up to the relaunch, the least experienced wrestler on the roster was building up the most ego. Naomi Yoshimura was eager to start the main event by charging past his partner Yuji Okabayashi and towards Kazusada Higuchi to catch him off guard. The match turned around when Akebono tagged in to absorb all of the chops and Shoulder Blocks his opponents could throw at him. Yoshimura was a glory hog throughout the match and refused to tag out even though he was overwhelmed. Okabayashi angrily reminded him it was a tag match and finally got to tag in and clean house. Yoshimura tagged back in and with Okabayashi gave Akebono a Double Brainbuster. He wanted to finish off Higuchi with a Lariat but Higuchi stopped him with a Lariat of his own. Yoshimura kicked out of the Doctor Bomb but Higuchi ended up putting him away with the Goten.

dna30-aftermath

After the match Akebono thanked Higuchi and Okabayashi for the match. He then turned to Yoshimura and complimented him on a good job. Akebono said he would like to come back and then left the ring. Higuchi thanked the fans for coming to see DNA’s relaunch. He told Yoshimura to watch his attitude a little but other than that he would gladly fight him again and again. A representative from one of the show sponsors Premium Water Shop then came out. He thought it was a wonderful show so he wanted to make a donation to DNA. He announced that DNA will have a show in Korakuen Hall on 10th May! Higuchi was excited by the news until Shunma Katsumata grabbed the microphone from him. Katsumata declared that he will main event the Korakuen show, not Higuchi. Higuchi said he is on top of DNA and he won’t give up his throne to anyone. If it is a new era for DNA, he will be leading the charge.

dna30-sakuraba-iwasaki

While Mizuki Watase and LEONA fought each other outside the ring, Kouki Iwasaki had the displeasure of being twisted apart by Kazushi Sakuraba. Watase and LEONA continued fighting after the match ended. LEONA apologised in his backstage interview and blamed it on himself feeling a bit off. Sakuraba said Iwasaki has a strong Low Kick and he’d like to wrestle him again.

dna30-katsumata-kotaro

Kotaro Suzuki was full of praise for Shunma Katsumata, describing their match as a wonderful contest. Suzuki said when he was three years into his career he did not have the movement and technique that Katsumata currently has. However a key difference maker in this match was stamina. Suzuki had more of it and Katsumata can’t hit his big moves without it. Suzuki then suggested that Katsumata should team with him so he can steal all his moves… er I mean learn more by watching.

dna30-dai-shogun

Dai Suzuki tried to shake off his loss to Shogun Okamoto with as much dignity as he could muster. He then broke down while failing to convince the audience he is still undefeated. The show sponsor then came out accompanied by an MC named MEGA-G. They informed Suzuki he will be going through a 7 match series with every match having a 7 minute time limit. If he loses all 7 matches then he must retire! However a win and even a draw will save Suzuki’s career. His first match in this series will be against Kohei Sato on 14th March.

dna30-mao-ueno

MAO’s Screw Kick was the deciding factor in him beating Yuki Ueno. Afterwards Ueno said he can’t figure out where that kick came from so he couldn’t defend against it. Ueno will now focus on more training to make sure he won’t lose his next match. As for MAO, he is just going to keep doing what he is doing in DNA and see where it takes him.

dna30-dvd

Guanchulo & Rekka claim that they too have been reborn along with DNA. Together they are calling themselves the YOUNG DONUTS! They aren’t the only wrestlers thinking up team names. Daiki Shimomura & Nobuhiro Shimatani are thinking about calling themselves Gran Millimeter because they are small but strong like Gran Hamada.

dna30-trainees

On the same week NASA discovered seven new planets, DNA introduced seven new trainees. Kento Namatame (生田目研人) is a 26 year old from Tokyo who has experience training with CMLL. Ryota Kimoto (木本凌太) is a 19 year old from Hokkaido and comes from Sapporo Amateur Pro Wrestling. Daisuka Kurahashi (倉橋大亮) is a 23 year old from Akita and was trained by Animal Hamaguchi. Kazuki Yoshida (吉田和樹) is a 20 year old from Niigata and has baseball experience. Mago-ichi (孫一?) is a 30 year old bodybuilder from northern China. Yuki Iino (飯野雄貴) is a 22 year old rugby player from Tokyo. Finally Kenichi Ito (伊藤健一) is a 41 year old MMA fighter from Tokyo.

A big main event is in store. Not just in physical size but in ego too. Naomi Yoshimura attended the match announcement wearing sunglasses and a fancy suit. He didn’t care about Akebono’s sumo accomplishments and ran down Kazusada Higuchi for losing to Mike Bailey and Ryota Nakatsu late last year. He threatened to blow away anyone who stands in his path. Higuchi was more polite. Being in the presence of Akebono is enough encouragement to withstand whatever Yuji Okabayashi throws at him. Akebono warned Yoshimura to respect him or be crushed.

6. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi (c) defeated Makoto Oishi, Shunma Katsumata & MAO when Sakaguchi pinned MAO with the Right Knee Of God (10:20).
*V2 for Shuten-dōji.
7. KO-D Openweight Title Challenger Decision Tournament – Round 1: Konosuke Takeshita defeated Kazusada Higuchi (25:31).

Konosuke Takeshita is one more match away from reaching the main event of “JUDGEMENT 2017” in March. He defeated Kasusada Higuchi in the first match of a four man playoff. There were Lariats a plenty as both men wanted to outlast the other with their strength. Takeshita kicked out of the Doctor Bomb at two but Higuchi kicked out of a Vertical Drop Brainbuster at one. Takeshita hit the same Horizontal Chops he used to beat Toru Owashi last year but Higuchi survived them. It took a German Suplex to end the match and send Takeshita through to the final. Takeshita said when he wins the KO-D Openweight Title at Saitama Super Arena he will want one more match with Higuchi.

Shuten-dōji are still the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions but they have bigger fish to fry this weekend. They are more invested in seeing KUDO beat Tetsuya Endo tomorrow and eventually win the main event spot for “JUDGEMENT 2017”. They would love nothing more than to see KUDO Vs HARASHIMA for the title to celebrate DDT’s 20th Anniversary.

HARASHIMA has other problems to worry about for now. After losing to DAMNATION, he was approached by Daisuke Sasaki. Calm and polite, Sasaki said he is over Candice LeRae and promised to fight fair against HARASHIMA in their title match on 29th January. They were about to shake hands when Sasaki kicked HARASHIMA and then put him in the Modified Cross Facelock until the champion fainted. Sasaki threw HARASHIMA out of the ring and yelled that he will become the champion on 29/1.

Yasu Urano is worried he now cannot challenge Keisuke Ishii for the AJPW Jr. Title after being pinned by him today. He was told that it’s still possible. It’s all up to the PWF President Dory Funk Jr. Urano wouldn’t dare to ask him immediately. Instead he’s going to be more calculated and wait until the time is right.

The 3 Way Match fell apart when Mad Paulie attacked the referee. Shigehiro Irie and Mike Bailey worked together to fight him off and send him packing. Irie gave Bailey a thumbs up afterwards.

It just goe from bad to worse for Nobuhiro Shimatani. After losing another King Of Dark Title match he was told afterwards that he cannot wrestle for DNA as long as he is champion. Shimatani swears he will get rid of the cursed championship and go back to DNA when it is relaunched next month.

Danshoku Dino was not at the show due to a back injury. Instead the BOYZ president Johnny Etajima appeared to announce his plans for the 12th January BOYZ event. He wants to do something unusual so the show will be based around a competition between two teams captained by Makoto Oishi and HARASHIMA. Oishi has a mystery wrestler on his team, the only clue is it’s an attractive blonde. Everyone assumes it is Yasu Urano.
