Daisy Monkey, Reiwa AA Cannon, Endo 10th Anniversary

April 8, 2022

1. Pom Harajuku & Moka Miyamoto Vs Haruna Neko & Kaya Toribami
2. Miyu Yamashita Vs Juria Nagano
3. Marika Kobashi Vs Raku
4. Maki Itoh & Yuki Kamifuku Vs Hikari Noa & Nao Kakuta
5. Hyper Misao Vs Miu Watanabe

7. Princess Tag Team Titles: Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki (c) Vs Suzume & Arisu Endo
8. Princess Of Princess Title: Shoko Nakajima (c) Vs Yuki Aino

Arisuzu have a brand new tag team name. Suzume is the Daisy and Arisu Endo is the Monkey so together they are now called Daisy Monkey!

Saki Akai & Yuki Arai got together during the week for a special training session. First they announced their tag team name. They are called Reiwa AA Cannon. The AA stands for two things. They have the same blood type (A) and they both won the same Award for Best Newcomer from Tokyo Sports. Or maybe it’s just both of their surnames beginning with A and somebody wanted to make a BI Cannon reference. Akai wanted to teach Arai the most important thing in pro wrestling… The ring entrance! It is what shows off the individuality of a pro wrestler the most and walking out there looking like a bore will make fans lose interest. Arai agrees because it was the entrances that caught her eye when she saw pro wrestling for the first time. Akai taught Arai to copy her entrance and in returned then tried to replicate Arai’s entrance.

DDT “APRIL FOOL 22”, 10/04/2022
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

0. Dark Match: Toui Kojima & El Unicorn Vs Yuya Koroku & Ilusion
0. Dark Match: Toru Owashi, Naomi Yoshimura & Kazuki Hirata Vs Akito, Soma Takao & Gota Ihashi
1. KANON Vs Yuki Ishida
2. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Chris Brookes & Masahiro Takanashi (c) Vs Yuji Hino & Yukio Naya
3. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno, Yuki “Sexy” Iino & Yumehito “Fantastic” Imanari (c) Vs Daisuke Sasaki, Minoru Fujita & MJ Paul
4. DDT 25th Anniversary Special Tag Match: Saki Akai & Maya Yukihi Vs Cherry & Miyako Matsumoto
5. Special Single Match: Shunma Katsumata Vs Yusuke Okada
6. The 37KAMIINA Vs Eruption!: Yuki Ueno & MAO Vs Kazusada Higuchi & Hideki Okatani
7. Tetsuya Endo 10th Anniversary Match: Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama & Yukio Sakaguchi Vs Konosuke Takeshita, HARASHIMA & Antonio Honda

10 years of Tetsuya Endo will be celebrated in the main event. Looking back on his debut I’m surprised Akito isn’t part of his match because Endo submitted to him back then. Keisuke Ishii and the wrestler now known as Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi were the other two people in that match but I can understand why DDT didn’t bring them over. How about this for trivia? Endo’s original tag partner for his debut was supposed to be another DDT rookie Takashi Dai. Unfortunately he suffered a career ending injury in his own debut match two weeks earlier so Ishii replaced him.

After this show Konosuke Takeshita will take part in an Youtube autograph signing and then that’s it for him in DDT for the time being. Don’t be surprised if he shows up somewhere in AEW next week because it sounds like the beginning of his excursion is imminent.

It’s unusual to see two KO-D championship matches placed so early on the card back to back. I don’t know what the schedules outside of DDT are like for the wrestlers involved so I can’t say for certain if it is because somebody is working somewhere else later that day. I don’t think it is for the partial live broadcast on Youtube either because it’s just the two dark matches that are being advertised for that.

DDT “THE WORLD’S BEST ROJO PRO WRESTLING TOURNAMENT ~KING OF STREET WRESTLING~”, 10/04/2022
WRESTLE UNIVERSE

1. King Of Street Wrestling – Round 1A – Tokyo Shin-Kiba Studio Flamme: Chris Brookes Vs Onryo
2. King Of Street Wrestling – Round 1B – Kanagawa Enoshima Beach: Hikaru Machida Vs Worawutnoi Keatchaiyong
3. King Of Street Wrestling – Round 1C – Kanagawa Big Japan Dojo: Sanshiro Takagi Vs Abdullah Kobayashi
4. King Of Street Wrestling – Round 1D – Tokyo Shibuya Kitaya Park: Shunma Katsumata Vs Suzu Suzuki

The opening round matches have already been taped (and may have been in the can for a while) but we won’t know the results until they are broadcasted.

DDT/ONLY WE “MAX BUMP 2022 TOUR IN CHIBA”, 17/04/2022
Chiba 2AW Square

1. Soma Takao Vs Yuya Koroku
2. Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Sakaguchi & Hideki Okatani Vs Hiroshi Yamato, Naomi Yoshimura & Yuki Ishida
3. Pheromones Vs The Iyasareru!: Yuki “Sexy” Iino & Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno Vs Chris Brookes & Antonio Honda
4. Special Tag Match: Kaji Tomato & Yukio Naya Vs Akito & Shunma Katsumata
5. BURNING Vs The 37KAMIINA!: Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama & Yusuke Okada Vs Yuki Ueno, MAO & Toui Kojima
6. DDT x ONLY WE Special 6-Man Tag Match: HARASHIMA, Yuji Hino & Quiet Storm Vs Daisuke Sasaki, Shogun Okamoto & Akira Raijin

DDT is brought back into the world of ONLY WE and the group’s feud with PERON GRANDES. Joining the two sides is HARASHIMA teaming with ONLY WE and Daisuke Sasaki teaming with PERON GRANDES.

A nice little reunion for The Iyasareru is happening here. Or maybe not given who their opponents are. I can’t tell if DDT switching the naming positions of Yuki Iino & Danshoku Dieno on upcoming cards is an intentional hint of something coming up on the horizon or just a sign that Iino has become the centerpiece of Pheromones. Iino has been the more successful of the two in-ring recently but Dieno still looks like he is calling the shots.

DDT “DDT FREE -APRIL-”, 22/04/2022
Shinjuku FACE

1. Special Tag Match: Shishamo Power & Naomi Yoshimura Vs Akito & Yukio Naya

After the masked man’s debut in January, Shishamo Power is back to wrestle in Tokyo for the first time but so far his trainer Toru Owashi is nowhere to be seen. He is teaming with Naomi Yoshimura but his opponents remain the same. Akito & Yukio Naya do not want the people to eat fish like Shishamo recommends. They are meat eaters through and through!

DDT “MAX BUMP 2022 TOUR IN KOBE”, 24/04/2022
Kobe Art Center

1. Chris Brookes Vs Yuya Koroku
2. Daisuke Sasaki & MJ Paul Vs Akito & Toui Kojima
3. Yuji Hino & Yukio Naya Vs Yukio Sakaguchi & Yuki Ishida
4. DISASTER BOX Vs Eruption!: HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura Vs Kazusada Higuchi & Hideki Okatani
5. BURNING Vs The 37KAMIINA!: Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama & Yusuke Okada Vs Yuki Ueno, MAO & Shunma Katsumata
6. Kobe Specialty Special 6-Man Tag Match: Genki Horiguchi, Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata Vs Yuki “Sexy” Iino, Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno & Antonio Honda

The addition of Genki Horiguchi to the show means Kazuki Hirata gets to take another step on his journey through the Dragon System. There’s an alternate universe where Hirata never left Kobe and instead he made it onto the DRAGONGATE roster. Who knows where his wrestling career would have taken him from there? I bet he and Horiguchi would have turned face and heel on each other at least twice both ways.

DDT “DDT FREE -FEBRUARY- ULTIMATE TAG LEAGUE 2022 IN SHINJUKU!!”, 14/02/2022
Shinjuku FACE

-. Ultimate Tag League 2022 – B Block: Daisuke Sasaki & MJ Paul (2) defeated Chris Brookes & Masahiro Takanashi (2) by Forfeit.
0. Dark Match: Yusuke Okada Vs Yuya Koroku
1. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title – 5 Way Match: Toru Owashi (c) Vs Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno Vs Masahiro Takanashi Vs Antonio Honda Vs Shunma Katsumata
2. Daisuke Sasaki, Minoru Fujita & MJ Paul Vs Akito, MAO & Yuki Ishida
3. Special Tag Match: Saki Akai & Toui Kojima Vs Maya Yukihi & Yukio Naya
4. Special 6-Man Tag Match: HARASHIMA, Naomi Yoshimura & Soma Takao Vs Jun Kasai, Yuji Hino & Yukio Sakaguchi
5. DDT Extreme Title – Turkish Wrestling Rules: Shinya Aoki (c) Vs Yuki “Sexy” Iino
6. Ultimate Tag League 2022 – A Block: Tetsuya Endo & Jun Akiyama (4) Vs Shuji Kondo & Kazuki Hirata (0)
7. Ultimate Tag League 2022 – A Block: Konosuke Takeshita & Yuki Ueno (4) Vs Kazusada Higuchi & Hideki Okatani (0)

B Block

1. HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura (4)
-. Yuki “Sexy” Iino & Yumehito “Fantastic” Imanari (4)
3. Shunma Katsumata & MAO (2)
-. Daisuke Sasaki & MJ Paul (2)
-. Chris Brookes & Masahiro Takanashi (2)

What an utter disaster the Ultimate Tag League has become for CDK. First Masahiro Takanashi had to pull out of a match because of covid forcing the team to forfeit against Pheromones and now Chris Brookes has been pulled from tomorrow’s show due to illness (so far not confirmed to be covid related), forcing them to forfeit another match. This time DAMNATION T.A are getting the free two points and their first win in the tournament.

The card is changes several matches as a result of this. DAMNATION T.A are now in a non-tournament match but on the plus side have Minoru Fujita with them again. The trio demolished their opponents yesterday and made it clear they want to dominate DDT. However Sasaki is being targeted by MAO because of his DDT Universal Title challenge, which Sasaki has declined over and over. Takanashi now has to take MAO’s place in the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title 5 Way Match. Another change is Yusuke Okada and Yuya Koroku becoming opponents in a dark match instead of teaming together in the opener.

Brookes also has to miss teaming with Yoshihiko in the wacky sauna sponsored Gauntlet Match. Antonio Honda is filling in for him there.

The winners of Match #4 will be rewarded with 365 bags of bath salts from the match sponsors. Sounds relaxing… I hope?

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “GRAND PRINCESS ’22”, 19/03/2022
Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan

1. Juria Nagano Debut Match: Juria Nagano Vs X
2. Special Single Match: Hikaru Shida Vs Hikari Noa
3. International Princess Title: Maki Itoh (c) Vs Yuki Arai
4. Princess Tag Team Titles: Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki (c) Vs Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe
5. Princess Of Princess Title: Miyu Yamashita (c) Vs Shoko Nakajima

Fresh off of the Max Heart Tournament we are left with the two strongest teams in Tokyo Joshi Pro fighting over the Princess Tag Team Titles. On one side are the champions, The Magical Sugar Rabbits. Their pride was bruised after an early elimination from the tournament so they feel the need to defend the belts against the Max Heart winners. That team is Daydream. They made one dream come true, now they have an even bigger one. They want to win the Tag Titles at Sumo Hall!

The growing history shared by Maki Itoh and Yuki Arai reaches another chapter. Arai is cashing in on her supernova rookie year by challenging Itoh for the International Princess Title. It wasn’t long ago that Itoh dared Arai to try and beat her with as many attempts as she wants to use. Arai thinks the time is now to strike and she has earned every strength needed to win against her fellow rival idol.

Hikaru Shida Vs Hikari Noa is definitely happening, no mistranslation here (why yes, I am one to talk). Excluding her recent MAKAI work and the AEW tournament she produced last year (empty arena), this will be Shida’s first pro wrestling match in front of a Japanese audience in over two and a half years.

Yuna Manase, Ram Kaichow and NEO Biishiki-gun will all be on the show. Manase is looking for an opponent to step up and face her in the ring. Nao Kakuta has shown interest in doing so given their history from Actwres girl’Z.

DDT “JUDGEMENT 2022 ~DDT 25TH ANNIVERSARY~”, 20/03/2022
Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan

1. LiLiCo Retirement Match: LiLiCo, Ryohei Odai & Akito (w/ Junretsu) Vs Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno, Yuki “Sexy” Iino & Yumehito “Fantastic” Imanari
2. KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles: Toru Owashi, Antonio Honda, Kazuki Hirata & Yoshihiko (c) Vs Poison Sawada JULIE, Takashi Sasaki, GENTARO, MIKAMI & Tanomusaku Toba (w/ Naomi Susan)
3. DDT 25th Anniversary Special Single Match: Sanshiro Takagi Vs Michael Nakazawa
4. Special Single Match: Saki Akai Vs Maya Yukihi
5. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) Vs Tetsuya Endo

So when LiLiCo asked for her retirement match to be filled with handsome men, it only made sense to include her husband in it. Ryohei Odai is a Kamen Rider actor and former member of the pop band Junretsu (which the DDT unit was also named after). He has little athletic experience but his inclusion in the match will be very important for LiLiCo. Speaking of Junretsu, they will be in the married couple’s corner while Akito takes up the last spot on the team.

It was LiLiCo’s decision to make Pheromones her opponents. She has had many unforgettable experiences with Danshoku Dieno so it is fitting for him to be one of her final opponents. Unfortunately for Odai, he got a, um, taste of Pheromones when they crashed the press conference announcing this match. They attacked Odai and Dieno shoved one of the Junretsu member’s face into Yuki Iino’s crotch while Yumehito Imanari filmed it.

DDT “MAX BUMP 2022 TOUR IN KOBE”, 24/04/2022
Kobe Art Center

Has Open The Forbidden Gate been used by DRAGONGATE yet? I’m sure it’s been used by them before. Let’s use it anyway. Genki Horiguchi is the latest name from the promotion coming over for a DDT appearance. The previous ones all worked on DDT shows booked by Toru Owashi in Nagoya but here it is for a show happening in Kobe. It’s slap bang in the middle DG territory but still progress in a seemingly growing relationship between the two companies. It’s another small step towards Kazuki Hirata jumping over and forcing them to play “Tokyo GO!” again.

234 Fans – Super No Vacancy

1. Suzume defeated Haruna Neko with the Ring A Bell (7:53).
2. Miu Watanabe defeated Kaya Toribami with the Canadian Backbreaker (5:04).
3. 3 Way Match: Rika Tatsumi defeated Marika Kobashi and Arisu Endo when Tatsumi pinned Endo with the Twist Of Fate (7:50).
4. Hyper Misao, Nodoka Tenma & Yuki Aino defeated Hikari Noa, Nao Kakuta & Raku when Misao pinned Raku with the Hypami Returns (10:18).
5. 2nd “Futari wa Princess” Max Heart Tournament – Round 1: Moka Miyamoto & Yuki Arai defeated Pom Harajuku & Mahiro Kiryu when Arai pinned Harajuku with the Finally (13:39).
6. Kobe Special 6-Woman Tag Match: Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki & Shoko Nakajima defeated Miyu Yamashita, Maki Itoh & Yuki Kamifuku when Mizuki pinned Kamifuku with the Diving Foot Stomp (14:50).

Mizuki bounced back from her Ittenyon failure by becoming the hometown hero in Kobe and winning the main event for her team. She told the fans she felt pretty depressed after losing the Princess Of Princess Title match but getting able to wrestle in Kobe today made her feel like she blew all of her problems away. Shoko Nakajima had no problem teaming with The Magical Sugar Rabbits but they will be opponents in the Max Heart Tournament the next time they are in the ring together. Nakajima said she played with a lot of toys at the beginning of the year and she learned her tag partner Hyper Misao is an unbreakable one. Nakajima wants to be unbreakable too so Kyoraku Kyomei are aiming to go all the way. 121000000 are also aiming to win after reaching the final last year. Even though Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh already have the singles championships, they still think they have to get stronger as a tag team. Yuki Kamifuku is waiting on her drinking buddy Asuka to arrive before she plans anything for the tournament.

In terms of experience levels the Max Heart tournament already kicked off with an upset. Moka Miyamoto & Yuki Arai eliminated Pom Harajuku & Mahiro Kiryu in the opening round. The two rookies have been regular opponents against each other but joined forces to enter the tournament. It is already paying off but Arai doesn’t want to stop here. Miyamoto also wants to keep advancing but knows it will be a difficult task with Suzume & Arisu Endo as the next opponents.

2. Princess Of Princess Title: Miyu Yamashita (c) Vs Shoko Nakajima

In Miyu Yamashita’s mind there is only one person she should main event Sumo Hall against TJPW’s biggest show ever. She chose Shoko Nakajima. The two are the longest serving members of the TJPW roster and both made their official pro wrestling debut at the same time. It was on 17th August, 2013 at Sumo Hall. There isn’t a match-up more fitting.

The pro wrestling debut of Juria Nagano will also be on the show. Nagano was born in Shimane on 10th February, 1996. She is 159cm tall and has a 2nd black belt in Shito-ryu Karate. She also works as an action actress as well as a nurse. Sanshiro Takagi scouted her for TJPW and she is currently deep into her preparations for her debut.

GAKE NO FUCHI JOSHI PRO “CLOCKWORK GAKE NO FUCHI 2022 ~GAKE NO FUCHI VS PROMINENCE~”, 04/01/2021
Shinjuku FACE

1. Hardcore Match: Chris Brookes Vs Suzu Suzuki
2. Special Tag Match: Sanshiro Takagi & SenoSister Mao Inoue Vs Mochi Miyagi & Akane Fujita
3. Special Single Match ~ Gake no Fuchi Rules: Miyako Matsumoto Vs Risa Sera
4. Gake no Fuchi Vs Prominence Full Scale Battle! No DQ 8-Man Tag Match: Miyako Matsumoto, Sanshiro Takagi, Chris Brookes & (w/ Ippanjin Munenori Sawa) Vs Risa Sera, Mochi Miyagi, Akane Fujita & Suzu Suzuki (w/ Hiragi Kurumi)

This is the first challenge for Prominence since their inception. Risa Sera is close with Miyako Matsumoto and Miyamoto was even considered to be recruited for Prominence during its inception. However Matsumoto turned down the invitation out of loyalty to Gake no Fuchi, CyberFight and Sanshiro Takagi. It must be noted that Matsumoto is NOT a CyberFight employee.

When Suzu Suzuki originally debuted, people kept saying she reminded them of Matsumoto. She felt insulted by that and after holding in her feelings for so long, she will take her anger about it out on Chris Brookes. She isn’t sure how to deal with the height difference but thinks if she can beat a big man with big moves then she cane become a big woman in the ring.

Mochi Miyagi thought she would be taking on the Mao from SenoSister and was looking forward to it. Then she found out it is actually the wrestler MAO and she now wants a explanation. On the bright side she is looking forward to fighting Takagi and making him scream squeal. She isn’t the only person targeting Takagi.

Akane Fujita has accused Shunma Katsumata of stealing all of her ideas for death match weapons. She has proof of using block toys and acupuncture mats as weapons in her own matches before Katsumata used them in DDT. She isn’t facing Katsumata on this show so she will target Takagi instead because he is the DDT president.

Last but not least, Hiragi Kurumi admits she doesn’t know what she is going to do at the show. She isn’t able to wrestle at the moment so she is only advertised to accompany the rest of Prominence for the main event. She knows Munenori Sawa is doing the same so she guesses she will have to deal with him one way or another.

6. Ultimate Tag League 2021: Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata (3) defeated Chris Brookes & Antonio Honda (2) when Katsumata pinned Honda with a Cradle (17:22).
7. Ultimate Tag League 2021: Jun Akiyama & Makoto Oishi (4) defeated Kazusada Higuchi & Yukio Sakaguchi (4) when Oishi submitted Sakaguchi with the Fujiyama Knee Lock (15:47).

Ultimate Tag League 2021 Standings

1. Jun Akiyama & Makoto Oishi (4)
-. Kazusada Higuchi & Yukio Sakaguchi (4)
3. Daisuke Sasaki & Yuji Hino (3)
-. Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata (3)
5. Chris Brookes & Antonio Honda (2)

It’s still all to play for after Day 4 of the Ultimate Tag League. One team who had it in the bag are letting it slip while the team that looked to be out of it caught a second wind. While Kazusada Higuchi and Jun Akiyama took care of each other, Yukio Sakaguchi tried to hunt down Makoto Oishi. It got real bad for Oishi when Sakaguchi literally knocked his front teeth out (Oishi’s front teeth are all replacements)! But in a surprise, Oishi had his opponent scouted and countered his submission holds into the Fujiyama Knee Lock for the upset victory. Akiyama praised the Junrestu leader after the match. All of his front teeth are gone but he is still handsome enough to finish 4th in a Best Body Japan competition! Meanwhile Eruption are at risk of finishing outside of the top spot. They now need to beat DAMNATION on the last day for a chance to win the league.

It’s a sad end for The Iyasareru. After a great start, Chris Brookes & Antonio Honda quickly cooled off and lost the rest of their matches. Their schedule ended with a defeat to The 37KAMIINA. They had their opponents trapped in stereo Octopus Stretches but Konosuke Takeshita broke free from Brookes and Dropkicked Honda. Shunma Katsumata then used his leverage to roll over and apply a deep pin to Honda for the three count. The 37KAMIINA know they are in a difficult position to win the league on the final day. All they can do is figure out the right timing to use the MADMAX double team move so they can beat Junretsu.

Naomi Yoshimura beats Yuki Iino to prove he deserves to be in this year’s King Of DDT. Yoshimura said he will work his way to the top of the DNA generation. He also promised to win the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles next week.

Toui Kojima treated Match #4 as an audition to join The 37KAMIINA. He probably failed when a double team move backfired and Kojima hit Yuki Ueno by accident. That mistake gave Yusuke Okada the opening to win the match. Ueno tried to keep his attention on Akito but admits he couldn’t grasp his next challenger’s rhythm at all today. He also had his back taped up which irked Akito a bit. Akito said he was disappointed in Ueno’s performance today and a champion shouldn’t be showing off his bad condition like that. Akito doesn’t think he fought a champion today.

DAMNATION got by with some cheating to beat DISASTER BOX. When Tetsuya Endo had Yukio Naya in position for the Torture Rack Bomb, Kazuki Hirata ran in wanting to break the count. However Soma Takao stopped him in his tracks with a Low Blow, allowing Endo to hit his move on Naya for the finish. Takao added salt to the wounds backstage when he called Hirata a weak challenger for the 6-Man Tag Titles and he should be replaced. Soma thinks Hirata would be so weak of a champion he would make Yuki Ueno’s DDT UNIVERSAL Title run look better by comparison!
