-. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Yuki Ueno defeated Makoto Oishi (c) with a Diving Body Press (1:32 pm).
*Yuki Ueno becomes the 1,405th champion.
3. Toru Owashi & Naomi Yoshimura defeated Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Mizuki Watase when Owashi pinned Watase with the Shonenba (10:38).
4. Shunma Katsumata Marunage Match – Toy Block Hardcore Match: MAO defeated Shunma Katsumata with the Cannonball 450 through the plastic case filled with toy blocks.
-. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Makoto Oishi defeated Yuki Ueno (c) with a Manjigatame (2:23 pm).
*Makoto Oishi becomes the 1,406th champion.
5. Lucha Libre Rules: Konosuke Takeshita & Akito defeated Antonio Honda & Intelligence Sensational Grand Passion Mask #4 when Takeshita pinned Honda with a School Boy (16:39).
6. Nagoya Specialty! Special 6-Man Tag Match: Daisuke Sasaki, Soma Takao & Tetsuya Endo defeated HARASHIMA, Kazuki Hirata & Kazusada Higuchi when Endo submitted Hirata with the Modified Yurikamome Hold (18:20).
-. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Yuki Ueno defeated Makoto Oishi (c) with a Concrete Block Strike (3:26 pm).
*Yuki Ueno becomes the 1,407th champion.

Daisuke Sasaki kept distracting Kazusada Higuchi by telling him he was his daddy. It got to the point where Higuchi lowered his guard when his “daddy” asked for a hug only for Soma Takao to attack him from behind. Tetsuya Endo made Kazuki Hirata submit to the Modified Yurikamome Hold while Sasaki held HARASHIMA in place with the Crossface Lock. After the match Endo gave HARASHIMA a Dropkick and insulted him for failing to protect his friends. Sasaki joked about Higuchi acting rebellious today but is slowly coming around to accepting who is daddy is. The DAMNATION members then congratulated Endo for finishing in 3rd place at a Best Body Japan contest in Yamagata yesterday.

All four wrestlers in the semi-main event ended up getting stripped down to their underwear as the match went on. What a way for Konosuke Takeshita to celebrate the 7th anniversary of his debut wrestling match! He offered to have a singles match with Intelligence Sensational Grand Passion Mask #4 some day.

Shunma Katsumata brought along buckets of toy blocks and MAO brought his concrete blocks for their death match. The ring filled with the toy blocks when the wrestlers spilled the buckets over each other. The concrete blocks came into play when MAO placed them on top of Katsumata’s chest then hit a Hollywood Star Press onto them. Katsumata got his own back by giving MAO a Facecrusher onto the bricks. The ending had MAO filled a plastic case with toy blocks, place it on top of Katsumata and then crash through them onto Katsumata with the Cannonball 450. MAO said he will never lose to Katsumata but he enjoys wrestling him in fun matches like these so they should do more.

Here’s the latest shenanigans over the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. The first change happened when Masahiro Takanashi won the 4 Way Match. Makoto Oishi pinned him after the match to win the belt only for Yuki Ueno to hit a Diving Body Press out of nowhere to be the champion again. Oishi attacked Ueno during intermission and won the title with an Octopus Hold. Then at the end of the show Ueno knocked out Oishi with one of the concrete bricks to take back the title. Keigo Nakamura tried to attack Ueno for the belt but couldn’t get the job done.

3. Keiko Takeshita International Friendly Match – Keiko Beyond The Heart: Yumehito Imanari Vs Konosuke Takeshita
4. Pocchaminator Mana Connor Chronicles: Mana Connor (Yuna Manase) Vs Pocchaminator (P-800)

Yumehito Imanari is promising an “Innovative Invention Experiment” on the show called πMAX Digital Theater. Fans in attendance will be wearing special glasses to watch an extra large screen that is so immersive you will feel like you are inside a womb again. He is using this technology to screen one of Yuna Manase’s DVDs. Those who see it will feel like they are being wrapped around in Manase’s motherhood.

Manase doesn’t get what Imanari is trying to do, she is only focusing on her match. And er… at least I think it is a match. The set up is the main event features the Pocchaminator, a cyborg from the year 2050 that has traveled back in time to kill people who have a BMI value above a certain level on behalf of major advertising agencies. The resistance is led by one person. Not Yuna Manase but Mana Connor! If she cannot stop the P-800 then there is no future for Pocchari Joshi Pro!

Konosuke Takeshita’s mother Keiko is a special ambassador on the show. She will oversee the match between Imanari and her son. Imanari hopes that Keiko will show as much love for him as she does for her own son.

I thought this show was just supposed to be a Trainspotting parody…

8. DDT Extreme Title: Jiro Kuroshio (c) Vs Daisuke Sasaki

Daisuke Sasaki was so drunk by the end of Beer Garden week that he has no memory of how he got a DDT Extreme Title match with Jiro Kuroshio. He remembers eating watermelon and also Kuroshio’s wonderful hair but that’s it. Kuroshio says this is a match that nobody should laugh at. In fact Kuroshio Vs Sasaki is a match he thinks fans want to see. He also didn’t know that he gets to make the stipulation. So he hasn’t thought of one yet but promises it will be something serious.

So Konosuke Takeshita’s summer challenge before Shinya Aoki is an 8-Man Tag with Santino Marella involved. Didn’t see that coming.

DDT “OSAKA OCTOPUS 2019”, 01/09/2019

4. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao (c) Vs Jiro Kuroshio & Kazusada Higuchi
5. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) Vs Shinya Aoki

Kuroshio is acting like he is Kazusada Higuchi’s little brother so they can challenge for the KO-D Tag Team Titles. Higuchi is happy to go along with it and promises to win the belt for their family. They’re not related by blood but if they win then it is proof that they are real brothers. If they do become the champions Kuroshio wants to defend the belts against The Brahman Brothers. In response to this, Sasaki is making fun of the situation by saying he is Higuchi’s dad. Higuchi points out that Sasaki is only three years older than him. Sasaki fired back by saying he was only three years old when he was with Higuchi’s mother. Sasaki was still drunk when he said this but how much of that is an excuse, I don’t know. Kuroshio made the argument even more confusing by saying his and Kazusada’s father is a 56 year old man named Jiro Higuchi.

Yay, Shuji Ishikawa is back again!

Who’s idea was it to team up Danshoku Dieno & Maku Donaruto!?!

The second half of today’s Shinjuku FACE double header was DDT hosting the final show of this year’s Beer Garden series. The main event was the annual Beer Garden finale, a 6-Man Tag Match with the teams organised by fans picking balls out of a box. The match everyone got was Konosuke Takeshita, HARASHIMA & Kazusada Higuchi Vs Soma Takao, Mike Bailey & Naomi Yoshimura. Bailey hit the Green Tea Plunge on Takeshita and HARASHIMA jumped on top of them with a Springboard Body Press. Takao broke the pin with a chair and the four of them fought their way out of the ring. That left Higuchi to thump Yoshimura with a Lariat and pin him with the Doctor Bomb.

The DDT Extreme Title was on the line in a Watermelon Split Match. A watermelon was placed in the ring. If a wrestler damaged the watermelon they would be disqualified. However if a wrestler got a one count pin, they would be given a chance to split the watermelon with a shovel after spinning around in circles ten times while wearing a blindfold. If they damaged the watermelon that way then they would be the winner. Akito and Jiro Kuroshio both had their chances to win but smashing a watermelon while dizzy and blindfolded is a difficult task. Kuroshio only won by accident when he swung the shovel at the ropes, the shovel bounced back, hit Kuroshio in the face and he fell on top of the watermelon to split it into pieces.

Daisuke Sasaki entered the ring after the match but it was just to compliment Kuroshio’s hair and also eat some watermelon. Hisaya Imabayashi didn’t believe him and said he really wanted to be the next Extreme Title challenger. He booked a title match between Kuroshio and Sasaki for 25th August. Kuroshio then asked for a KO-D Tag Team Titles match on the 1st September Osaka show. He wanted either Takeshita or Sanshiro Takagi to be his partner but they both have title defences on that show. Kuroshio then said his partner will be… his older brother Kazutoshi? Imabayashi didn’t know who he was talking about until Kuroshio said he meant Kazusada Higuchi. He got his “brother’s” name wrong. Higuchi accepted the offer and promised to win the tag titles with his “true brother”. A drunk Sasaki fell asleep in the corner while this was going on.

Catastrophe struck at the start of the show when Danshoku Dieno, Yuki Ueno, MAO and Mizuki Watase all collided head first into each other during a respectful handshake. When it was time for their tag match nobody knew what condition the four of them would be in. Dieno came out thinking he was Watase and Ueno thought he was MAO. Then MAO & Watase both came out thinking they were Dieno! They wrestled the match using each other’s moves until Dieno and Ueno had their tights pulled down revealing Danshoku tights underneath. Everybody was now Danshoku Dieno! They all chased after Keigo Nakamura, causing the match to be stopped.

The tag match before that also ended without a winner. Here the two teams agreed to take a drink after every kickout and rope break. Obviously it was another excuse for Sasaki and Masahiro Takanashi to get drunk again. Tetsuya Endo and Asuka got to join in. Even Daisuke Kiso was convinced to take some shots. Yukinori Matsui argued with Kiso for drinking at work but Kiso gave him a Lariat. Everyone laughed but the bell rang and the match was ruled a No Contest. No one cared because they still got to drink.

There was a whole lot of dancing in the Rock & Roll 5 Way Death Match. A. YAZAWA did his thing until he was choked out by his own suspenders. Yuni gave Kazuki Hirata an Old School rope walk then danced with Toru Owashi. It wasn’t just rock music, Yukio Sakaguchi wound up dancing to “Swan Lake”! Kazuki Hirata joined in when the music turned to something more danceable for him but Sakaguchi Penalty Kicked him for the win.

Since this was the last day of Beer Garden you can’t be mad that most of the wrestlers were more interested in eating and drinking instead of wrestling. That is what Yukio Naya and Mad Paulie got up to in the opening match. When it was time for them to get involved in the ring they were able to clear house handily. Nobuhiro Shimatani got himself tagged in assuring his partners to leave the match to him. Shunma Katsumata and Hiroshi Yamato took each other out which left no one around to stop Makoto Oishi’s European Clutch on Shimatani.

The show ended with each of the wrestlers raising a toast and shouting “Kanpai” at the fans. Hirata then got a party going by starting the Hirata GO! dance and getting others to join in. Sakaguchi was ready to take part when Saki Akai suddenly knocked him out with a can of beer! Akai pinned him to become the new Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion. Hirata then pinned Akai with the Miracle One Shot Cradle to win the belt. Sakaguchi got back up and choked out Hirata with the Sleeper Hold to get the title back.

Ueno then offered Sakaguchi a beer but he drank it back so deep that he fell to the mat with the can still on top of his face. Matsui counted to three and declared the Can Of Beer as the new champion! Ueno drank what was left in the can and Matsui then declared him the champion! Sakaguchi chased Ueno out of the ring while HARASHIMA and Takagi said their final words. Takagi said Beer Garden will live forever even though he missed it due to injury.

DDT has a week long break when Beer Garden ends then it’s on to the next tour. Their last visit to Hiroshima was in November. Danshoku Dieno was suffering from amnesia at the time as part of the fallout from “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2018” so he couldn’t wrestle in his hometown back then. He also missed the Hiroshima show from earlier this year due to injuries. DDT only goes to Hiroshima once or twice a year so it’s been a long time since Dieno has got to wrestle in front of his local fans.

8. International Princess Title – 1st Champion Decision Battle: Natsumi Maki Vs Gisele Shaw

I’m unsure which title match will headline the show. The DDT site is a little inconsistent with the match listing. Most of the card updates have the International Princess Title on top but the latest one put the Princess Tag Team Titles match in that position.

2. DJ Nira defeated Kazusada Higuchi by Disqualification when Higuchi attacked the referee (5:57).
3. Hana No Sandman Match: Ken Ohka defeated Danshoku Dieno, DJ Nira, Masahiro Takanashi, Muscle Sakai, Antonio Honda, Mike Bailey and Makoto Oishi when Ohka pinned Dieno with the Fire Spear (13:52).

Today’s Beer Garden show was put together by Danshoku Dieno and Super Sasadango Machine. It was headlined by the annual tribute to The Sandman. Several wrestlers came out carrying beer and Singapore canes then met in the ring to share a toast. The bell rang and “Enter Sandman” played while everybody brawled all over the venue. Wrestlers who weren’t part of the match got caught in the mayhem and did what they could to survive while the ring filled up with empty beer cans. Dieno & Sasadango took on all comers but were eventually overwhelmed. DJ Nira hit them with the Rocket Punch, Masahiro Takanashi struck them with a Thrust Kick and Ken Ohka pinned Dieno with the Fire Spear.

With the match over and the music finished, Ohka said he thought he could never survive because he did not have the status or power to go through with it. But today he is in the ring with his most important friends! Even when you are old you can enjoy the time spent with friends. Dieno gathered everyone together and called them his important friends. Sasadango then promoted next year’s show because he believes now is the earliest they can begin to sell tickets for it.

Kazusada Higuchi Vs DJ Nira was an unadvertised match. Higuchi tried to end it quickly but Nira tricked him into having a sumo contest with Daisuke Kiso. Higuchi won easily. Nira then attacked Higuchi from behind. He fled to the corner where Higuchi went for a Splash attack. Kiso took the blow instead of Nira. Kiso was then lifted by Nira into an Argentine Backbreaker position to prevent him from falling and Higuchi was disqualified. The lights went out and everyone heard the words “How strong are you, this is my dream.”

Sasadango’s PowerPoint presentation was a dark project called “Recommended Ghost Spots In Kanagawa”. Sasadango put together a photo diary of supernatural spots that were recommended by paranormal researcher Toshitaro Yamaguchi. Sasadango wanted to visit these spots during the day but it got dark by the time he met up with Konosuke Takeshita and Hisaya Imabayashi to embark on the trip. Some of the spots were blocked off, others turned out to just be empty spaces. While this was going on Takeshita’s right elbow was hurting but he carried on. Sasadango’s conclusion of this story is Takeshita’s an inspiration.

The Lariat Pro Wrestling match begun with the stipulation’s national anthem, “Power Hall”. Everybody played Riki Choshu until the music switched to “Sunrise”. Antonio Honda started acting like Stan Hansen until Yukio Naya put him in a Wristlock, stopping the music. Keisuke Ishii told Naya he was supposed to do Lariats but Naya didn’t understand. Ishii explained how great Lariat Pro matches are but Naya said he didn’t want to do that kind of match. Ishii told Naya to leave and have a drink while the rest continued the match. “J” and the wrestlers acted like Jumbo Tsuruta. Things went a different direction when Makoto Oishi hurt his knee. The music changed to “HOLD OUT” and the Keiji Muto impersonations began. Then it turned into Bruiser Brody spots for “Immigrant Song”. Then Giant Baba for “Soul Of A Champion”. Ishii brought out the Shinya Hashimoto Middle Kicks when “Bakusho Sengen” played. Then came the Mitsuharu Misawa spots for “Spartan X”. Things went out of control when “One Of These Days” played and Honda transformed into Abdullah The Butcher! He took out the referee but a hero was on his way when suddenly “Ikari No Jushin” played. Out came Naya with a beer wearing a Jushin Liger mask! Yuna Manase took the mask off of Naya, wore it herself and hit everyone with Shotei palm strikes. The Lariats returned for “GRAND SWORD” but things went haywire against when Ishii attempted to give Daisuke Kiso a Kenta Kobashi style Burning Hammer! Kiso disqualified Ishii before he could hit the move. Ishii complained that he didn’t break any rules but Tomomitsu Matsunaga and the venue staff disagreed. The staff entered the ring and hit Ishii with Lariats. They then told everyone that the Beer Garden week is happening during Shinjuku FACE’s 14th anniversary. They raised a toast and everyone cheered “FACE”.

Yuki Ueno wanted to begin the show with an exhibition for the trainee Keigo Nakamura. He has been a trainee for over a year and four months but has yet to be in the ring with a certain DDT wrestler. That wrestler is Danshoku Dieno! The exhibition began and Nakamura tried to fight off Dieno. But he couldn’t. He gave up while Dieno was all over him then began to cry. Ueno comforted Nakamura and explained he wanted to see how he would react to Dieno. He asked if Nakamura wants to get stronger? Nakamura does. Ueno said he saw something good in Nakamura today and he encouraged the fans to cheer for him.

Before the show even began the audience were treated to the rematch one year in the making! Last year the two authority figures Hisaya Imabayashi and Tetsuya Koda faced off in the ring. Koda won that battle and left Imabayashi humiliated to the point where he lost the respect of his children. Today his children was here to see their father get revenge! Unfortunately Imabayashi couldn’t hit the Rainmaker, Koda hit him with the Kamigoye and made him submit to a Sleeper Hold. Koda spoke to Imabayashi’s kids and told them what they saw was reality. He wasn’t insulting them however. What he meant was the kids got to see just how strong their father really is! The kids embraced Imabayashi. He may have lost but he did his best to the very end and that won him back his family’s respect.

4d. Shun❤️Carousel eliminated Yuko Ueno by Ring Out (16:55).
4e. Kazuko Hirata eliminated Shun❤️Carousel with the Miracle One Shot Cradle (21:28).

DISASTER BOX Day began with Kazuko Hirata coming out dancing to “LOVE & JOY”. She told the audience to get drunk while they watch some brilliant joshi matches today. In the main event Kazuko was joined by the rest of DISASTER Joshi for an elimination match against ALL OUT Joshi. The first elimination happened when Akiko used a towel to choke out Hara Shimako on the ring apron. She then let Shimako drop to the floor outside. Akiko was then thrown over the top rope by Yuko Ueno. Akiko used her towel again to hold onto the ropes but Yuko pulled her fingers apart so she would fall down to the ground. Yuko and Keiko Takeshita Jr. were both sent out of the ring at the same time by Shun❤️Carousel and Kazuko for a double elimination. Kazuko pulled down Shun’s dress to distract her and then used the Miracle One Shot Cradle for the winning pinfall.

Kazuko invited all of the “joshi” down to the ring for the end of show speech. Hara Shimako came out dressed as Sadako from The Ring and everybody was encouraged to take selfies with her. Kazuko then danced to bring the day to an end.

A special rule was added to the 3 Way Match that allowed weapon usage as long as the item is associated with the sea. Weapons included a parasoul, sunglasses, swimming goggles and a water gun. Francoise☆Takagi tried to interfere by throwing the trainee Keigo Nakamura into the ring but she was scared off when Naomi pulled her hair off, revealing it to be a wig! Francoise☆Ihashi made Naomi upset by calling her fat. Kazuko Higuchi took out some wakame seaweed and smothered it into her opponents’ faces. She then pinned Ihashi with a bodyguard whistle assisted Diving Body Press. She later apologised for covering the ring in seaweed.

Saki Sukeban didn’t take kindly to being given orders during Match #2. She paused the match and told Hisako Imabayashi to come into the ring. She spanked Hisako whenever she felt the others weren’t wrestling properly. She spanked through almost everybody including Mascara Gayuerra Jr. & Gay Urano. But when it was Yuni’s turn Margaret☆Owashi stopped her to save the company from getting into trouble. Saki called out Sukeban Sakaguchi, but you can call her Yukiko! Actually, maybe don’t. Yukiko pinned Gayruerra with a Middle Kick and posed with Saki.

Mike Bailey won a sumo wrestling tournament. Never thought I’d write that. He asked what his prize was. It was honour.
