6. King Of DDT 2022 – Round 1: Jun Akiyama defeated Yukio Sakaguchi with the Wrist-Clutch Exploder Suplex (10:46).
7. King Of DDT 2022 – Round 1: Kazusada Higuchi defeated Yukio Naya with the Brain Claw Slam (18:45).
A new chapter for DDT begins with the King Of DDT opening round going ahead. The newly vacated KO-D Openweight Title goes to the winner so everybody entering the tournament had even more motivation to go out and win. Yukio Naya showed such spirit in the main event. Even though he lost to Kazusada Higuchi, he gave him a fight tougher than anybody expected. Higuchi hit the Doctor Bomb but Naya kicked out at two. It took the Brain Claw Slam of big proportions for Higuchi to win in the end. Higuchi praised his opponent for his strong showing today and promised to carry his spirit along with Tetsuya Endo’s to the final. Higuchi told the fans he will stand at the top of DDT with the KO-D Title and wait for Endo! His 2nd Round opponent Masahiro Takanashi was also amazed with the match.
It was a battle of the Knee Strikes between Jun Akiyama and Yukio Sakaguchi. Both wrestlers inherited their own versions of the move from influential people, Akiyama from Jumbo Tsuruta and Sakaguchi from his father Seiji Sakaguchi. Akiyama took it one step further by pulling down his knee pad so he could fire off some unprotected strikes to his opponent. Sakaguchi kept fighting and kicked out of the Exploder Suplex. But when the Wrist-Clutch Exploder that was it for him. Sakaguchi admitted it was the first time in a long time he felt fear inside the ring.
MAO went overboard with protection for his match against Yuki Iino. He entered the ring wearing a full on hazard suit. He needed it because Iino armed himself with a hose and successfully stuck one end of it into MAO’s mouth while holding him in a Figure Four position. He then stuck the other end into his own back side, causing MAO to give up the match. Iino faces Akiyama in the next round and Akiyama is not happy about it at all.
Things went 50-50 for DAMNATION T.A in the 1st Round. Daisuke Sasaki used a Low Blow to defeat the much larger Yuji Hino but KANON lost clean to Yuki Ueno. Sasaki said he is the one Ueno fears the most. He is probably crying in the locker room thinking about him! Ueno could tell in the ring that KANON is learning from Sasaki. He wants to go beyond KANON, Sasaki and even more so he can become champion.
DISASTER BOX on the other hand had a good first day and are on a collision course with each other. Naomi Yoshimura put away Chris Brookes after some ringside brawling and cheap attempts from Brookes to win. Brookes tied the laces of Yoshimura’s boot to a railing hoping to get him counted out. Yoshimura got a crew member to cut the laces and he proceeded to wrestle the rest of the match in one boot. Takanashi then tried to interfere so Brookes could attack Yoshimura with the DDT Universal Title. Instead Yoshimura blocked Brookes and slammed him with the Harai Goshi to earn the victory.
HARASHIMA didn’t have to worry about any cheating of that kind in his match. Instead he took on Hideki Okatani who was amped up to try and take him down. It was a good effort but the inevitable happened and HARASHIMA won with the Somato. Now HARASHIMA and Yoshimura face each other in Round 2. HARASHIMA wants to know how much stronger Yoshimura has become since their D-Ou Grand Prix 2020 match (that took place at the end of 2019). Yoshimura expects his tag partner to be merciless against him because he is the symbol of DDT.
At the start of the show Makoto Oishi announced he is ready to return to wrestling on the 24th July Korakuen Hall show! He had been out of action for a year with a fractured lumbar vertebrae. Oishi felt jealous of seeing the DDT wrestlers fighting on the big stage at “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2022” and wants to carry the company on his back as much as anyone else.

6a. Rematch: Yuki Ueno defeated Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno with the BME (0:33).
7. BURNING Vs Eruption!: Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Sakaguchi & Hideki Okatani defeated Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama & Yusuke Okada when Higuchi pinned Okatani with the Brain Claw Slam (17:36).
Upcoming trios partners were opponents on today’s show. Kazusada Higuchi is still feeling cold towards Tetsuya Endo & Jun Akiyama and exchanged words with them after the main event. Higuchi got on the microphone and told the fans he can’t really say anything about the “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2022” match they’re in but he would rather beat the NOAH team using his own power instead of working with the two BURNING wrestler. Higuchi also wants Eruption to win the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles next week so both can move up. He explained more backstage about why he has tension with Endo & Akiyama. He said if you look at what DDT has done in the last year or two, you would understand why he isn’t thrilled about teaming with them.
This has the two BURNING wrestlers concerned about the tag match against NOAH. If they are not all on the same page then Akiyama thinks the only way they will win is if they target Atsushi Kotoge. Endo is not happy with that idea and will only be satisfied with winning if they can beat Naomichi Marufuji directly. They need to get the message across to Higuchi that this match against NOAH is a rivalry, not a friendly exhibition.
Before Yuki Ueno’s match with Danshoku Dieno began, Dieno walked over to Makoto Oishi and bribed him with some money to go do something over on the stage. He then told Ueno he will beat him in under 10 minutes and demanded their match be held under “Raw Ass Close Call” Sexy Train Rules! Hisaya Imabayashi encouraged Ueno to accept the challenge even though neither of them knew what the rule means. Yuki Iino then walked out on the stage carrying an unconscious Toi Kojima. Iino and Oishi taped Kojima to a chair and then Iino stood on a trolley across the stage with his bare backside pointed towards Kojima. The Sexy Train rule is Oishi will slowly push Iino towards Kojima as the match progresses until his butt meets Kojima’s face at the 10 minute mark! At the eight minute mark of the match, Dieno threatened to pull down the last of his tights causing Imabayashi to stop the match. However Ueno told him that Kojima hates it when things are done halfway so he convinced the GM to restart the match with one minute left. Ueno quickly pinned Dieno with the BME. Unfortunately by the time he got up to the stage to rescue his friend, Iino got his final push and Kojima got his face full of his backside.
Yukio Naya challenged Yuji Hino to a singles match. They’ve been a tag team together for months but their win-loss record is not great. Naya thinks in order to become stronger and start getting the results he wants he will have to fight Hino as well as team with him.
The Chris Brookes Vs Yuki Ishida match was almost like a tag match because Brookes dragged both Daisuke Kiso and Yukinori Matsui into getting physical. Brookes grabbed Kiso for leverage to block Ishida’s moves. He then used Matsui as a shield to take Ishida’s Sumo Slaps. One last disrespectful move was done when Brookes used the Michinoku Driver II (one of MAO’s finishers) to win the match.
DDT “THE WORLD’S BEST ROJO PRO WRESTLING TOURNAMENT ~KING OF STREET WRESTLING~”, 10/04/2022 WRESTLE UNIVERSE 0 Fans
1. King Of Street Wrestling – Round 1 – Kanagawa Big Japan Dojo: Abdullah Kobayashi defeated Sanshiro Takagi with the Bakachinga Elbow (13:02).
2. King Of Street Wrestling – Round 1 – Kanagawa Enoshima Beach: Hikaru Machida defeated Worawutnoi Keatchaiyong by Knockout with the Iai Punch (R3 1:20).
3. King Of Street Wrestling – Round 1 – Tokyo Shibuya Kitaya Park: Shunma Katsumata defeated Suzu Suzuki with the Sauna Trance Splash through the Table (17:18).
4. King Of Street Wrestling – Round 1 – Tokyo Shin-Kiba Studio Flamme: Chris Brookes defeated Onryo by Coffin Burial (15:43).
The first King Of Street Wrestling tournament kicked off with four matches in the opening round. Sanshiro Takagi visited the Big Japan dojo for his match against Abdullah Kobayashi. Takagi went looking around for his opponent but found Kosuke Sato instead. He thought Takagi was trespassing but couldn’t stop him from entering the kitchen and looking round the place. Kobayashi finally showed up. He was out grocery shopping and forgot the match was taking place today. To make up for it, Kobayashi offered Takagi a pint glass of raw eggs. Takagi couldn’t drink it while Kobayashi gulped his glass down. He then drank Takagi’s pint for him and the two began their match. It was just as much a tour of a dojo as both wrestlers were looking for weapons. Kobayashi briefly disappeared only to return dressed as Stan Hansen! He chased Takagi outside and Takagi tried to escape on the Dramatic Dream bike. He caught up to him by the river where BJW washes their ring canvas. Kobayashi hit Takagi over the head with a chair, knocking him down onto the canvas. He gave him the Bakachinga Elbow and pinned him right there to advance to the semi-final.
The next match was on a beach where a kickboxer fought a Muay Thai fighter. The kickboxer Hikaru Machida was accompanied by Thanomsak Toba while the Muay Thai fighter Worawutnoi Keatchaiyong had Makoto Oishi cheering him on. Keatchaiyong had the early advantage by clutching onto his opponent in Round 1. Machida broke through his defence in Round 2 with a Sole Butt, causing Keatchaiyong to flee towards a nearby jungle gym. Machida used the gym to swing into Keatchaiyong with a flying kick for more damage. The knockout came in Round 3 when Machida hit Keatchaiyong with the Iai Punch into the water. It was an instant knockout.
The young generation were up next with Shunma Katsumata and Suzu Suzuki fighting each other in Shibuya. Both of them brought weapons out to the public square and weren’t shy about committing violent acts in front of the confused bystanders. They stapled flyers onto each other’s heads, smashed a box of toy blocks to pieces and threw each other into nearby chairs before breaking them over each other’s heads. A ladder was set up next to a table and Katsumata threw Suzuki onto a pile of chairs Death Valley Driver style. He then climbed the ladder and put Suzuki through the table with the Sauna Trance Splash to win the match.
The final match was held in an empty photo studio where Chris Brookes went hunting for the ghost known as Onryo. He entered the venue armed with a proton gun to defend himself with. He was in for a wild ride starting with a masked figure appearing in the balcony to get his attention only for Onryo to attack him from behind. Onryo tried to hang him with a chain but Brookes broke free and attacked him back with the same chain. The two fought up to the rafters where Brookes put Onryo in the Octopus Stretch. Onryo found a cinder block up there and he broke it over Brookes’ stomach. Back down on ground floor, Brookes used a giant fan blowing flower petals to render Onryo’s powder attack useless. Brookes tied Onryo to a wheelchair when suddenly a nearby coffin opened up and Ram Kaichow rose out of it! She gave Brookes a Tornado DDT out of the coffin and began shooting fireworks at him. She freed Onryo but that gave Brookes time to attack her. Onryo dived onto Brookes and fought to throw him into the coffin. He countered the Praying Mantis Bomb with a Back Body Drop onto wooden boards. He then pressed a nearby button and picked up a board rigged to explode! Brookes fought him off, grabbed the board and hit Onryo with the explosion instead. That was enough for Brookes to carry him into the coffin and close it for the knockout victory. Brookes was the winner but he could see through the window lid of the coffin that there was nobody in there! The coffin was empty and the lights began to flash. Brookes ran off as the ghostly figures of Onryo and Kaichow stood behind him and stared.
The King Of Street Wrestling semi-finals will be broadcast on 16th April. Abdullah Kobayashi versus Shunma Katsumata will happen at a bath house in Kanagawa. Chris Brookes versus Hikaru Machida will take place at a campground in Shizuoka.

6. BURNING! Vs The 37KAMIINA!: Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama & Yusuke Okada defeated Yuki Ueno, Shunma Katsumata & MAO when Endo pinned Katsumata with the Best Burning Star Press In the Universe (19:27).
The absence of Konosuke Takeshita was noticeable from both sides in the main event. Tetsuya Endo felt something was different and Jun Akiyama told him The 37KAMIINA come off lukewarm without their main man. Endo still wants to send him a message. He will beat Takeshita at Korakuen Hall and then at Sumo Hall in the next month! Endo also ripped off MAO’s shirt during the match. The shirt was a piece of Gorgeous Matsuno merchandise, MAO’s favourite one in fact. He swore to get revenge on Endo over it.
Matsuno & Yukio Sakaguchi swapped robes for their entrance. It must have been Matsuno’s idea because Sakaguchi didn’t look happy doing it. Matsuno also teased he will form a new unit with him soon, one that will last for a long time. Sakaguchi instantly shot down that idea and refuses having to do it. Matsuno then came up with another idea. He will hold a show in Fukushima celebrating his 20th anniversary in wrestling on 19th September!
Pheromones came up with a creative public execution for Hisaya Imabayashi this time. Makoto Oishi carried in a tiny snowman which was placed on Yuki Iino’s crotch while he was lying down. Danshoku Dieno then gave Imabayashi an Atomic Drop onto the snowman. Afterward they smothered his face and crotch with the snow.

Today really is the end of Junretsu. Their final match as a unit brought together all five members with the injured Makoto Oishi working the show as a ring announcer. The unit also entered to “Kimi ga Soba ni Irukara” by the pop band Junretsu. Sadly they fell to The 37KAMIINA in the main event. MAO pulled out an Avalanche version of the Michinoku Driver II on Mizuki Watase to get the victory. After the match, everyone in Junretsu bowed to the audience in every direction. Jun Akiyama encouraged the other members to make the most out of what they learned and move on to new paths. MAO brought up Junretsu beating The 37KAMIINA back at the DRAMATIC SURVIVOR tournament. MAO was the one who got pinned in that match too. Shunma Katsumata didn’t want to end the show on a sad note so he asked Junretsu’s fans to keep supporting them as they begin their next steps.
MJ Paul showed that he is much meaner than Mad Paulie by attacking Keigo Nakamura with a chair. Daisuke Sasaki threw the same chair at HARASHIMA allowing Paul free reign to pin Nakamura with the Death Valley Bomb.
The D-Ou Grand Prix preview today was the tag match featuring Tetsuya Endo, Kazusada Higuchi and Chris Brookes. Higuchi and Brookes are in the same block so they got an early chance to wrestle each other here. Endo pinned Yukio Naya to win. Afterwards Endo & Higuchi told each other they will meet in the D-Ou final.
Soma Takao surprised everyone by shaking hands with his opponents before the opening match.
An autograph session was held after the show and Antonio Honda caused a scene. First he faked a knee injury to attract the attention of HARASHIMA. Then when HARASHIMA walked over to check on him, Honda attempted to roll him up for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. HARASHIMA kicked out but then Akito gave him a School Boy and won the title. HARASHIMA wanted to chase after Akito to get the belt back but Akito told him he couldn’t abandon the autograph session while there were still fans waiting to meet him. HARASHIMA ran back to his table while Akito escaped as the new champion.
