GANBARE☆PRO “A HOMANSU 2022”, 14/05/2022
Chiba 2AW Square

1. Punch Drunker Vs Strong Zero Drunker: Tyson Maeguchi Vs Soma Takao

6. Yuna Manase Triumphant Special 6-Man Tag Match: Yumehito Imanari, Kaji Tomato & Yuna Manase Vs Keisuke Ishii, Shota & Ayame Sasamura

Remember that story about how a young Shinichiro Tominaga once tried to get into K-DOJO? That’s why he considers Chiba his second home. Both GENTARO & Yasu Urano were involved with K-DOJO at the time Tominaga tried to get in. After all these years will they accept the wrestler he has grown into?

It was a big surprise to see Naoya Nomura show up yesterday asking to wrestle a match in Ganpro. He and Mizuki Watase have formed team in Capture International called REAL BLOOD and they are ready to show it to a new audience. Watase wants everyone to know that he wrestles in other places besides Ganpro so an alliance like this did not come from out of nowhere.

GANBARE☆PRO “WRESTLE SEKIGAHARA”, 10/07/2022
Tokyo Ota Ward Gymnasium

1. Special Tag Match ~ CDK Vs ROMANCE DAWN: Chris Brookes & Masahiro Takanashi Vs Shota & Soma Takao
2. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Yumehito Imanari (c) Vs Ken Ohka

The biggest match in Ganpro history is set. Ken Ohka founded Ganpro in 2013 and Yumehito Imanari was his very first signing. Fast forward to 2022 and they will fight each other in a headline match at Ota Ward Gymnsium. Imanari’s newly won Spirit Of Ganbare Title will also be on the line.

Shota & Soma Takao are having a blast teaming together as ROMANCE DAWN. They now want to take on the best teams around and that means CDK are in their sights. CDK are ready for them but are a little confused that ROMANCE DAWN have not asked for any of their tag team championships to be on the line. For now the match is non-title and advertised as a special attraction.

4. Ganpro’s Famous 3 Way Battle! ROMANCE DAWN Vs ChocoPro Vs BASARA: Shota & Soma Takao defeated Chris Brookes & Antonio Honda and Takumi Tsukamoto & Yasu Urano when Shota pinned Honda with the Gannosuke Clutch (14:43).
5. Ganpro Special Single Match ~A Better Tomorrow~: Ken Ohka defeated Muscle Sakai with 3 Flame Spears in a row (11:09).
6. LOVE PHANTOM 2022 ~Special Tag Match~: Keisuke Ishii & Kouki Iwasaki defeated Shuichiro Katsumura & Mizuki Watase when Ishii pinned Watase with the Kneel Kick (21:56).
7. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Yumehito Imanari defeated Tatsuhito Takaiwa (c) with a Lariat (17:20).
*Tatsuhito Takaiwa fails in V4. Yumehito Imanari becomes the 2nd Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Champion!

The Imanari Revolution that began four years ago has reached its climax. Yumehito Imanari is the new Spirit Of Ganbare Champion! The first champion Tatsuhito Takaiwa looked to be unbeatable especially when he used the Death Valley Bomb to put away all challengers. But today Imanari withstood the move, forcing the champion to hit an Avalanche version and tiring him out in the process. The two got into a Lariat duel until Imanari gave Takaiwa a taste of his own medicine by using his own finisher on him! Takaiwa kicked out at two but was finally down for the count after Imanari hit him with one more Lariat.

Imanari thanked Takaiwa for coming to Ganbare☆Pro and increasing the value of the title by being its first champion. Imanari defeated him today but the respect he has for him remains the same. Takaiwa told Imanari to polish the belt and make it even more valuable. He also gave out words of encouragement for the injured Shinjiro Otani. When he left, Ken Ohka came out and challenged Imanari for a title shot at Ota Ward Gymnasium on 10th July. Imanari accepted because if it wasn’t for Ohka and Ganpro, he would not be in this position today.

The pure-blooded tag team match showdown between Keisuke Ishii & Kouki Iwasaki against Shuichiro Katsumura & Mizuki Watase was a hard fought battle. Watase was taken to his limit by Ishii. It took two Tiger Suplexes and the Kneel Kick to finally put him away. Katsumura wants it to be known that these four all represent Ganpro and it is up to them to make Ganpro more exciting. He also welcomes adding more wrestlers to the promotion. He said this in response to the big appearance after the match.

Former All Japan wrestler Naoya Nomura entered the ring after the tag match. He called it an exciting match, one that makes him want to be involved with them. So on 14th May when Ganpro goes to Chiba he wants to wrestle a match there! Nomura is currently involved with a promotion called Capture International where he and Watase formed a team called REAL BLOOD. He asked Watase if they should bring REAL BLOOD to Ganpro!

Ken Ohka’s journey back to the top of the mountain he created led him to an emotional match with his close friend Muscle Sakai. Their match featured voices coming from their hearts, interrupting the action to tell the audience what their friendship meant to them. It also revealed their true motives. Sakai wants to beat Ohka while Ohka never wants to lose! In the end Ohka had to hit Sakai with the Fire Spear three times before he finally won. Ohka declared his challenge for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title afterwards and spoke of his joy over getting to wrestle Sakai again. Sakai spoke of discovering something thanks to this match. He found out he does his best when his opponent is trying to kill him!

The 3 Way Tag match ended with ROMANCE DAWN getting their hands raised. Chris Brookes & Antonio Honda almost had Takumi Tsukamoto beaten but Yasu Urano made the save. Honda then got into an exchange with Shota. He started winding up for a big Bionic Elbow when Shota suddenly rolled him over with the Gannosuke Clutch to score the three count. Shota said he’s been teaming with Soma Takao for half a year now and they’re getting good responses. It makes him enthusiastic to fight the best tag teams out there so he wants ROMANCE DAWN to take on CDK at Ota Ward Gym! Masahiro Takanashi questioned if Shota only wants it to be a “Special Tag Match” and not for any of their tag team championships. But he accepted the challenge to a match on 10th July.

The friendship between Yuna Manase and Yuki Kamifuku was briefly put aside when Nippon Ganbare Union took on VENYU. The heavy hits came from Manase and Asuka while YuuRI stepped up to give Kamifuku some trouble. Asuka wiped out Manase with an Asai Moonsault. YuuRI’s momentum of nearfalls got cut down when Kamifuku gave her the Famouser. The win for VENYU was a natural result according to Asuka. Manase and Kamifuku though put aside their problems and shook hands after the match.

A mixed tag match reunited HARUKAZE with Yuu Yamagata, although they were on opposite sides here. The result was determined by the men though when Tsuyoshi Okada made Shinichiro Tominaga submit to a Cross Armbreaker.

No matter how much Tyson Maeguchi is learning about pro wrestling, nothing could have prepared him for Onryo. Plenty of dusty ectoplasm flew around and covered Maeguchi inside, outside and even underneath the ring. A referee distraction caused Maeguchi to get blinded with more powder so Onryo could roll him up for the three count.

GANBARE☆PRO “CRY BABY 2022” Results

April 9, 2022

GANBARE☆PRO “CRY BABY 2022”, 09/04/2022
Shin-Kiba 1st RING
106 Fans

1. Ganpro Specialty Two Major Singles Match: Shinichiro Tominaga defeated Tyson Maeguchi with an Indian Deathlock (9:19).
2. Ganpro Specialty Mixed 6-Man Tag Match: Moeka Haruhi, HARUKAZE & Baliyan Akki defeated Yuna Manase, YuuRI & SAGAT when Haruhi pinned YuuRI with the Ojosama Clutch (13:15).
3. Ganpro Specialty Two Major Singles Match: Ken Ohka defeated Mizuki Watase with the Flame Spear (16:54).
4. Katsumura-gun Vs ROMANCE DAWN: Shuichiro Katsumura & Tsuyoshi Okada defeated Shota & Soma Takao when Katsumura pinned Takao with the HEAT Clutch (12:18).
5. Takaiwa Army Vs Ganpro Full-Scale Battle: Tatsuhito Takaiwa, 5th Black Tiger & Kenya Maeda defeated Yumehito Imanari, Keisuke Ishii & Kouki Iwasaki when Takaiwa pinned Imanari with the Death Valley Bomb (14:11).

Less than a month to go before Yumehito Imanari challenges Tatsuhito Takaiwa for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title and things are not looking good for the challenger. First at the contract signing before the show, Takiawa blindsided Imanari with a Lariat. Then in the main event Imanari was pinned directly by the champion in a 6-Man Tag Match. The Lou Thesz Press was blocked by Takaiwa and from that point on he had Imanari beaten in a dominant performance. Takaiwa told Imanari that he wants the Spirit Of Ganbare Title to rival the major championships and that won’t happen with competition like this. There is no pressure and no atmosphere being provided by Imanari. However the Takaiwa Army were still in a good mood to celebrate the win with highballs. Takiawa told Imanari he hopes to drink highballs with him on 3rd May.

The tension between Ken Ohka and Mizuki Watase was all let out when they fought each other today. Ohka ended up winning when he gave Watase two Dragon Suplexes followed by two Flame Spears. Afterwards Watase said this was the version of Ohka he was waiting for and it makes him glad he moved over to Ganbare☆Pro. Ohka gave a speech promoting Ganpro’s upcoming big shows when suddenly Super Sasadango Machine entered the ring. He said it doesn’t feel like Ohka is the star of Ganpro like he used to be. He should be in the main event at Ota Ward Gymnasium this summer but isn’t ready right now. So Sasadango challenged Ohka to a singles match on 3rd May. However, it won’t be Sasadango in the ring with Ohka. It will be Muscle Sakai! He pulled his mask off and began a strike exchange with Ohka that ended with Headbutts. Both of them want to show the younger wrestlers what they are made of.

The Ganbare☆Joshi division was given a surprise when VENYU showed up after their match! The pair of Asuka & Yuki Kamifuku are bringing their tag team over from Tokyo Joshi Pro so Kamifuku could have a reunion with Yuna Manase. Kamifuku talked about when Manase left TJPW for Ganpro, it left her feeling lonely. But it also made her become stronger and she ended up finding a new really strong tag partner. So VENYU want a match against Manase & YuuRI on 3rd May! Manase began to cry and promised it will be a match that will drive all four of them crazy like only pro wrestling can.

Shinjiro Otani & Mizuki Watase Vs Keisuke Ishii & Kouki Iwasaki will take place on 3rd May.

Takeshita To AEW, Endo 10th Anniversary, Saiki Announces Retirement

March 28, 2022

It was revealed yesterday that Konosuke Takeshita is travelling to America to wrestle for AEW next month. He wrestled three matches for them in Jacksonville last year and it only motivated him to come back even bigger. His goal this time is to wrestle on TV shows like Dynamite and Rampage as well as to become a champion against the high level of competition AEW has. His stay will last a lot longer with no return date planned at the moment. He claims he won’t be using a return ticket, he only has an outbound flight in his itinerary. Although he promised he will find a way to come back to DDT for big matches every now and then. He said he is grateful to both DDT and AEW for giving him this opportunity. Takeshita is promoting this as Chapter 2 of his wrestling career.

The new Princess Of Princess Champion doesn’t have to wait long for her first defence. Shoko Nakajima takes on Yuki Aino who is forging a new path on her own now that her sister has graduated. She is confident she can take the lead of Tokyo Joshi Pro like the previous champions have done before her.

Arisuzu aren’t shy about showing off their bond and think it is strong enough to dethrone The Magical Sugar Rabbits. The Princess Tag Team Champions are using their reign to show TJPW a whole new world filled with glitter and sparkles but they warn their challengers there is so much more to them than that.

It’s been a year and a half since Saki Akai was last in TJPW. She pops by again to team with Yuki Arai.

Can’t ask for a tougher second match for Juria Nagano. It’s Karate versus Karate when she has to take on Miyu Yamashita.

This will be Marika Kobashi’s last match in Korakuen Hall.

It was Yumehito Imanari who Tatsuhito Takaiwa defeated to be crowned the first Spirit Of Ganbare Champion. Enough time has passed for Imanari to take another crack at it. He is already playing mind games by claiming the hype video for the match will only feature footage of himself and there will be no clips of Takaiwa at all.

*V3 for Tatsuhito Takaiwa.

The Strongest Super Dragon defeats The Strongest Amateur! Tatsuhito Takaiwa was impressed by Shinichiro Tominaga though and told him he is not an amateur anymore. Takaiwa encourage him to try again because he would like to wrestle him one more time. Yumehito Imanari then challenged Takaiwa for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title at Korakuen Hall on 3rd May. Since Imanari is in charge of the video production, he says the hype video of the match will be all about him and Takaiwa won’t be in it at all! Takaiwa accepted the challenge and told Imanari he doesn’t mind the video as long as Imanari doesn’t do anything embarrassing with it.

Mizuki Watase fired himself up and scored a pinfall on Ken Ohka! Backstage Watase said there are a lot of wrestlers in Ganbare☆Pro who can the main attraction but Ohka isn’t one of them anymore. He needs to show his mettle and prove he belongs at the top. Ohka took offence to his comments and challenged Watase to a singles match on 9th April.

A new challenger has stepped forth for the Spirit Of Ganbare World Title. The “amateur” himself Shinichiro Tominaga picked up the win in the main event and threw out the challenge to Tatsuhito Takaiwa. The match will be the Strongest Super Dragon against the Strongest Amateur! Takaiwa wants to raise the title’s prestige to match those from the IWGP and GHC brands so it should not be fought for by amateurs. However he accepted Tominaga’s challenge in the hopes that Tominaga will improve and fight him with full determination. The title match will take place on 26th March at Shin-Kiba 1st RING.

Both Keisuke Ishii and Tyson Maeguchi are buzzing after their match against each other. Whether it’s as a tag team or as opponents, Ishii wants to continue wrestling with the ex-kickboxer. Maeguchi would prefer they stay as opponents so they can have more exciting matches against each other.

Ken Ohka has picked a fight with ChocoPro! Last week he made an unexpected appearance at one of their shows challenging Baliyan Akki for the Super Asia Title and left him laying with the Spear Of Fire. Akki showed up at Ganbare☆Pro today to confront Ohka over his actions. He said that person isn’t the hungry Ken Ohka he knew when he wrestled for Ganpro years ago. If that person doesn’t show up at Ichigaya Chocolate Square on 12th March then he won’t have a chance to win the title. Ohka knows the deal. He is going to ChocoPro on his own with no backup so he cannot mess up this opportunity! The two got into a fight and Mizuki Watase broke them up. He told Ohka afterwards he is defending Ganpro’s honour in this fight so he must not lose.

Nothing like a Captain’s Fall Tag match to really spice up a rivalry between units. The match has elimination rules but will end once either captain is pinned or submitted. There is no over the top rope rule in effect for this match. Tag Team Elimination matches in Japan usually include that rule.

Yuya Koroku has recovered from covid and is cleared to return.

5. Takaiwa Army Vs Ganpro Full-Scale Battle: Tatsuhito Takaiwa, 5th Black Tiger & Kenya Maeda Vs Shota, Soma Takao & Shinichiro Tominaga

Right now there is no challenger for Spirit Of Ganbare World Title so Tatsuhito Takaiwa is putting himself out there for anyone to challenge him. Maybe somebody from ROMANCE DAWN will step up? Shinichiro Tominaga is there too looking to bounce back from his defeat at the recent Korakuen Hall show.

Yuna Manase & YuuRI have entered a tag league in Marvelous for the vacant AAAW Tag Team Titles. Their team name is Nippon Ganbare Union and they are getting a warm-up bout a day after their first block match takes place.

The “Real Tiger Mask” and “Tenori Tiger” are joining forces which is why Shuichiro Katsumura & Mizuki Watase are called Tiger & Tiger. Their opponents Kouki Iwasaki & Nobuhiro Shimatani combine the “Power Of Dreams” with “Nobu” to become Power Of Nobu.

Both Tokyo Joshi Pro and DDT announced their full cards for Ryogoku weekend. An almost complete NEO Biishiki-gun reunion has been added but what would Sakisama make of Ram Kaichow when they meet in the ring? The Bakuretsu Sisters are not the only tag team fighting each other because Yuki Kamifuku and Asuka are having a match too. Nao Kakuta and Yuna Manase have gathered together wrestlers from their respective promotions for a big TJPW Vs Ganbare☆Pro tag match. Finally Juria Nagano gets to debut by teaming with another karate fighter, Moka Miyamoto. She will be put to the test against Arisuzu.

7. KO-D Tag Team Titles: HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura (c) Vs Chris Brookes & Masahiro Takanashi
8. DDT Universal Title – Hardcore 3 Way Match: Daisuke Sasaki (c) Vs Jun Kasai Vs MAO
9. KO-D Openweight Title – Japan Bakery Marketing Presents: Konosuke Takeshita (c) Vs Tetsuya Endo

DDT has eleven matches in total for their big anniversary event. DISASTER BOX regained the KO-D Tag Team Titles that they gave up but CDK believes that they should be the champions instead because they are more dramatic and dreamy.

Eruption has a busy day in the building. Saki Akai’s match with Maya Yukihi is turning into a bigger grudge every time they are in the ring together. Kazusada Higuchi & Hideki Okatani were chosen to be the opponents for Jun Akiyama & Takao Omori. That would leave Yukio Sakaguchi on his own but he was invited by Isami Kodaka to team up and take on Yuki Ueno & Shunma Katsumata.

A Tag Team Battle Royal featuring names from the past, present and future of DDT is part of the pre-show. One past team to keep an eye on in the match is Double Bridge. That is the name given to the pair of former KO-D Tag Champions Tomohiko Hashimoto & Seiya Morohashi. They held the titles together all the way back in 2003.

1. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno, Yuki “Sexy” Iino & Yumehito “Fantastic” Imanari (c) Vs Daisuke Sasaki, Minoru Fujita & MJ Paul

New challengers have emerged for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles although the match won’t be for another month. DAMNATION T.A want the belts but I’m not sure if they know what they are getting into when Pheromones are the champions.

*V2 for Tatsuhito Takaiwa.

A hot topic in Japanese wrestling right now is how hard the old guard are fighting to stay in the spotlight. It’s happening in Ganbare☆Pro too where Tatsuhito Takaiwa has a tight grip on the new Spirit Of Ganbare World Title. He successfully defended the championship against Kouki Iwasaki in the main event of Korakuen Hall after a hard fought battle. Any hope Ganpro had of their “young general” bringing the belt back home failed to materialize after the Avalanche Death Valley Bomb put him away. Takaiwa called the match the toughest he’s had in years because he is not good against kickers. Iwasaki agreed, describing the champion as a man who crawled up from Hell. Takaiwa is being a good spirit despite being somewhat of an outsider. He made a promise to help Ganpro grow bigger while he is their champion and welcomes anyone to come challenge him. He is willing to have a rematch against Iwasaki but he also wants to learn more about the rest of the roster for potential opponents.

The trio of Ken Ohka, Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie were too strong from ROMANCE DAWN & Shinichiro Tominaga to sail through. Irie smashed through Soma Takao with the Traffic Accident while Ishii took Shota out of play. That left Tominaga on his own ducking and diving all of his opponent’s big moves. He dodged the Beast Bomber and Kneel Kick but Ohka finally caught him with the Flame Spear to get the win.

In December 2015 The Great Sasuke gave Yumehito Imanari a “Great Prophecy” predicting he would have a breakout year in 2016. Nothing has happened since then and Imanari puts the blame on Sasuke for giving him a false blessing. That is what led to their singles match today. Sasuke, being the nutjob he is, did a Senton Bomb to the floor and missed. He was able to keep fighting until Imanari beat him with a Lariat. A tearful Imanari told Sasuke he still believes in the prophecy because it drives him to do his best. Sasuke gave an excuse that his prophecies sometimes have a time lag so Imanari’s one will definitely come true this year!

The Mixed Tag Match brought violence on an absurd level with some of the bizarre weapons being used. Mizuki Watase wore a tiger paw glove covered in barbed wire, HARUKAZE carried a garbage bag filled with empty plastic bottles, Akane Fujita had a baseball bat covered in thumbtacks and Shunma Katsumata had a bad with toy blocks stuck to it. Other weapons used included chairs, a ladder, an acupressure foot mat, steel cans and concrete blocks. Katsumata & Fujita kept accusing each other of stealing their own weapon ideas but had to get along out of necessity to win the match. Katsumata told Akane they keep winning together but they should stop before Sanshiro Takagi decides to make them team up again. Akane said that’s his problem and she will team with whoever the company offers to her. Watase & HARUKAZE enjoyed doing the match and like the idea of becoming a Hardcore Manzai tag team.

The Ganbare☆Joshi division was put on display in Match #2. YuuRI was put through the wringer by Moeka Haruhi & Maya Yukihi so Yuna Manase used her own size and power to spark a comeback. YuuRI also got her second wind but it couldn’t last against Yukihi. After Haruhi got Manase out of the ring, Yukihi stretched and pulled YuuRI in the Whiteout until she gave up.

In the opening match Shuichiro Katsumura & Tsuyoshi Okada joined forces to beat Nobuhiro Shimatani & Tyson Maeguchi. It was a Power Bomb from Shimatani that was suddenly countered into a Triangle Choke from Katsumura that led to that result.

2022 is going to be a big year schedule wise for Ganpro. There will be three more Korakuen shows this year on 3rd May, 13th August and 27th December. Pocchari Joshi will also return for its third show on 26th April. But that’s not all. Ganpro are making their biggest gamble yet to become a major pro wrestling promotion. On 10th July they are going to run Ota Ward Gymnasium! When Ganpro began in 2013 Ohka only had 150,000 yen and Nanhai Ichigaya Memorial Clinic (now known as Ichigaya Chocolate Square) as a venue. He likes venues like that and Itabashi Green Hall but believes the time has come to grow bigger and become more major. That is why Ganpro is running Korakuen four times a year and also going to Ota Ward. He wants to keep the momentum going so one day Ganpro will reach Sumo Hall and the Tokyo Dome! He also said if Ganpro works hard and Japan works hard they can create a booming economy together!
