5. Makoto Oishi & Yusuke Okada defeated Chris Brookes & Antonio Honda when Okada pinned Honda with the Fisherman Buster (12:04).
6. Nagoya Specialty! Doerya Tag Match: Mad Paulie & Yuji Hino defeated HARASHIMA & Yukio Naya when Hino pinned Naya with the Fucking BOMB (14:11).
7. DAMNATION Vs DDT Sauna Club!: Tetsuya Endo, Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Shunma Katsumata & MAO when Endo pinned Katsumata with the Torture Rack Bomb (17:13).

The absence of Jun Akiyama disappoints Tetsuya Endo. He asked where he was and thinks Akiyama will be back at the shows in Hakata next week. He will wait for him there so they can settle their differences before “KAWASAKI STRONG 2021” even takes place. Daisuke Sasaki said he knows the location of the hospital Akiyama is in.

HARASHIMA believes the good parts of Yukio Naya are starting to come out more and more. He found out Naya is one of his opponents at “KAWASAKI STRONG 2021” so he is looking forward to fighting a stronger version of him. Naya promised to do his best against HARASHIMA & Yuji Okabayashi. He will be teaming with Kazusada Higuchi in that match.

Yusuke Okada says he wants to absorb DDT’s style of pro wrestling. He is quickly proving it by studying Antonio Honda and knowing how to fight against Gongitsune. Whenever Honda tried to tell his joke, Okada ignored him and forced a confused Honda to continue wrestling instead. Honda got his trick to work though when he talked to Okada about their favorite Kamen Riders. He made an innuendo out of Takeshi Hongo’s name then poked everyone in the eyes with Gongitsune. Okada still had Honda scouted and blocked the Diving Fist Drop before winning his first DDT match with the Fisherman Buster. Chris Brookes wasn’t pleased with Honda’s antics. Makoto Oishi confirmed to Okada that he is beginning to understand DDT’s wrestling.

Strap yourselves in folks, Match #4 was weird. Shota hadn’t recovered from the Street Fight he wrestled in yesterday and was worried he wouldn’t last in the ring today. Akito assured him their match against Sanshiro Takagi & Danshoku Dieno would only be a test of mental strength and patience. He came up with a match where everyone wore “Super Mouth Cannons” over their faces that made loud honk noises if they breathe too hard. Both teams started with 10 points and would lose a point if the mouth cannon made a noise. This was meant to teach the wrestlers not to over exert themselves. But Yukinori Matsui got knocked down and everyone started a brawling, filling the room with honks. When Matsui got back up he called off the match for being too noisy. The two sides argued over their upcoming KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match afterwards but they still wore the mouth cannons so it was just more honking. Shota enjoyed being in a crazy DDT match but Dieno promised the fun and games are done. When the title match happens on 23rd February it will be simple professional wrestling!

Yukio Sakaguchi warned Yuki Ueno he is going to strangle everyone Ueno teams with until their DDT UNIVERSAL Title match in February. Ueno made fun of Sakaguchi by asking if he wanted to take a picture with the belt again because he won today. Sakaguchi told Ueno to be careful because he can attack him from behind again like he did at Korakuen Hall.

Today in Japan is the Coming Of Age Day, a holiday that celebrates the young people who reach adulthood at the age of 20 years old. For Hideki Okatani that means he is no longer has to be treated like a young boy at ringside by the other wrestlers. Eager to show off his new responsibilities, Okatani begged for Mizuki Watase to tag him in show no fear against Toru Owashi. This made Kazuki Hirata call on Owashi to tag him in too but he was ignored. When Hirata was finally tagged in he kicked out of the Northern Lights Suplex and pinned Okatani with the Miracle One Shot Cradle.

Akiyama Missing January, Shin Ultra Shoko, Takanashi Return Cancelled

Tokyo has gone into a state of emergency until February over the Coronavirus. So far several pro wrestling companies have been laying their plans for the period and how it effects their scheduling. For the most part, not much has changed with DDT and their spinoffs. DDT and Ganbare☆Pro will continue with their advertised shows. However the events taking place at night from 12th January onwards will be reviewed according to the guidelines given to them. A bunch of DDT shows are happening outside of Tokyo during this period anyway so that’s kinda how they’re getting away with it. Tokyo Joshi Pro is currently unchanged but do not rule out having to reschedule or cancel shows as the situation changes. BASARA are going on as normal but the Clutch bar in Shinjuku will be closed for the rest of the month.

Yesterday Hyper Misao announced the new name Shoko Nakajima must use for a month. Nakajima is now Shin Ultra Shoko. Misao originally wanted to come up with a more… heroic “Academia” kind of name but Tetsuya Koda wouldn’t allow it for legal reasons. Misao still wanted to add Ultra to the name thinking that Nakajima would like it so she settled with Shin Ultra Shoko. Koda asked if that name was still based on a real superhero property. Misao explained that “Ultra” is on a higher tier than Hyper and “Shin” is because this is a new Shoko so any complaints about copyright infringement do not matter. Shoko is reluctant to take the name because she is a kaiju on the side of justice rather than a superhero. But the world is looking for a hero and she does have heroic qualities. Together Hyper Misao & Shin Ultra Shoko are the Tokyo Joshingers! But they will only team up when there is an emergency that requires superheroes. Shoko had to cover her face for the photo session because superheroes have to hide their real identities.

He thinks winning the UNIVERSAL Title will get him overseas bookings. Ueno didn’t want to end 2020 with him getting pinned by Shota so his new year resolution is to avenge that loss as soon as possible. He should respect Shota more and not look down on that result but as the UNIVERSAL Champion he has a standard to live up to. He must not let the title go to someone who can’t decide if he is indie or major.

The D-Ou Grand Prix is over for another year and the winner Jun Akiyama gets the KO-D Openweight Title shot against Tetsuya Endo in February. Akiyama put over Endo and the KO-D Title huge by including Endo with Tetsuya Naito and Go Shiozaki as the only three champions that matter to him. Endo did beat Akiyama in their D-Ou group match so Akiyama needs to fight his heart out if he wants to win. Endo watched the final between Akiyama and Konosuke Takeshita, leaving him with some strong opinions. He can tell the difference between the two wrestlers. According to Endo, Takeshita only thinks about himself while Akiyama is thinking about the entire wrestling industry. Endo likes the praise of his title reign he is getting from Akiyama and it makes him proud of increasing the KO-D Title’s value. So when Endo beats Akiyama again in Culttz Kawasaki, he will call the KO-D Title the number one championship in Japan and himself the number one wrestler in Japan!

4. Insanely Funny Game Series! Revival!: Danshoku Dino & Kazuki Hirata defeated Makoto Oishi & Shunma Katsumata when Hirata pinned Katsumata with the Modified Emerald Fusion (8:48).

Antonio Honda, Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo have formed a new group called Happy Motel. According to Honda, the group was formed to support the glorious future of Takeshita & Endo while he gets to do something meaningful for whatever remaining time he has left in the ring. Their first match together under their new name was a success, defeating the current KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions, Shuten-dōji. Honda noted how many strong stables DDT has right now but he, Takeshita & Endo are happy to be teaming together. Honda encouraged the reporters at ringside to write about the hot new up and coming unit who are riding a wave of momentum towards the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Championships!

Yasu Urano spent a lot of the semi-main event trying to provoke Shigehiro Irie. Even though Urano and HARASHIMA won the match, an angry Irie chased Urano away from ringside afterwards.

There were some slight changes to the card due to Kota Ibushi’s injury. The 3-Way Match between Danshoku Dino, Makoto Oishi and Shunma Katsumata was turned into a Tag Team bout. Kazuki Hirata was added to team with Dino against Oishi & Katsumata. Dino wanted to dance with Hirata but was turned down because only Hirata can decide when it is appropriate to dance. The time came late in the match and the two punched their opponents in time to the music until Hirata pinned Katsumata with the Emerald Frosion.

Michael Nakazawa was quite perverted when he was in the ring with Saki Akai. Whenever he caught one of her kicks he tried to lick her leg.

During a press conference for the match Dino asked Oishi why is he so fond of wrestling in Idol Lumberjack matches? Oishi got flustered and tried to explain it is a fun match for both the wrestlers and the fans. Dino wonders if the real reason is Oishi wants to spend a lot of time being next to his favourite idols. Dino has yet to announce who his idol lumberjacks will be.

Omega sees this as his last chance to get into the main event of this year’s Sumo Hall show as the KO-D Openweight Champion (I assume the contract cannot be used to insert the holder into another title match to turn it into a Triple Threat).

All that has been said about Kota Ibushi’s 10th Anniversary match is it will be a match he wants to do.
