After a four hour training course, Matsumoto created her ramen dish and was gifted a 500 yen coin by the chef. Sawa called it a great first step that shows how Gake no Fuchi Joshi can become more and more valuable.

The match name is sort of misleading. Originally Ganbare☆Wrestling began in 2013 and regularly ran shows for the year. It then took a break in the first few months of 2014 to relaunch as a “major sports league” in April of that year. So this match is the 6th Anniversary of the relaunch.

Ganpro celebrates its anniversary with a return to the promotion’s deepest feud. Minoru Fujita and the Tomodachi-gun unit were a thorn in Ken Ohka’s side from 2015 to 2016. Now Fujita has revived it for the special occasion with one of the original members Hagane Shinno (he was wrestling under the name Madoka back then). Keisuke Ishii gets to find out for himself what this unit was like to fight.

1. Ganpro Three Big Singles Match – Toyama Vs Hokkaido Full Battle: Shinichiro Tominaga defeated Shigeyuki Kawahara with the JK (7:58).
2. Be A Man, Ihashi! Ganpro Special Tag Match: Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie defeated Gota Ihashi & HARUKAZE when Ishii submitted HARUKAZE with the Double Arm Neck Lock (10:51).

The final of four Ganbare☆Wrestling shows today was headlined with a GWC 6-Man Tag Team Titles defence. The challengers are normally Moeka Haruhi, Shuichiro Katsumura & Shuhei Washida. But today they are Moehiko Harumisawa, Katsuzaki Shunosuke, Washi Sakurai… THE HALFEE! They entered the ring singing “Distance Of The Starry Sky” by THE ALFEE. But when they were done they didn’t wait for Ganpocha-gun to finish their own entrance. An ambush began the match. Things got out of hand when Miss Mongol pulled the fake eyelashes off of Harumisawa. Ken Ohka tried to give her the Brainbuster but it was countered into the Double Wrist Armsault. Sakurai kicked out of the Chubby Knee from Yumehito Imanari and slapped his way back into the match. But Imanari took him down with another Chubby Knee Kick for the finish.

Imanari thought THE HALFEE was a weird idea but he is now jealous after seeing their entrance. He was going to close out the show with a speech but Keisuke Ishii ran in and attacked him, just like he did this morning. This time Imanari blocked the Fisherman Suplex but Ishii fought harder and left him laying with the Double Arm Clutch Driver.

When Ishii left, Sakurai ignored what just happened so he could talk about his own problems. He debuted two years ago but today’s defeat was the most frustrating. He will get stronger and everyone will remember the name Washi Sakurai! Ohka shouted at Sakurai and dared him to throw a strike. Sakurai did so and Ohka responded with a Headbutt. It was all to show that Sakurai will do his best. The lesson Sakurai learned is if he is going to climb to the top he will always be attacked along the way. The show closed with THE HALFEE singing “Distance Of The Starry Sky” again.

The rest of the card was made up of regional based matches between Ganpro wrestlers against special guests. Kouki Iwasaki went against Tetsuhiro Kuroda of FMW fame. Iwasaki showed a lot of fight and kicked out of the Technan Buster at one. But his Middle Kick was countered with a Lariat that kept him down for the count.

Shota’s special match was against Shiori Asahi. The two traded submissions and looked evenly matched. The difference came when Asahi removed a turnbuckle pad during a rope break and threw Shota into the exposed corner. Shota was helpless and easily defeated after that moment.

Gota Ihashi got his request to team with HARUKAZE again. Their teamwork together is improving and it kept them motivated whenever Ishii & Shigehiro Irie took control. Late in the match Ishii put HARUKAZE in a Sleeper Hold while Irie applied a Camel Clutch to Ihashi. The underdogs grabbed each other by the hand to keep the pressure off until they were pulled away. There was no coming back after that and HARUKAZE gave up to Ishii’s Double Arm Neck Lock.

The only Ganpro regular to win one of the regional matches was Shinichiro Tominaga. He worked on Shigeyuki Kawahara’s arm until Kawahara’s guard was left open for the JK jumping knee kick.

4. GanJo Type Lariat Pro Wrestling: Shigeko Deluxe, Miss Mongol & Kokoro Suzuki defeated KEIKO, Beauty Suzuki & Eagle Washida when Deluxe pinned Washida with a Lariat (10:51).
5. GanJo Vs DDT Wrestling Classroom Full Battle – Secret Captain’s Fall 6-Woman Tag Team Elimination Match: Moeka Haruhi, HARUKAZE (C) & Asuka defeated Cherry (C), Yuu & Banny Oikawa (9:16).

For the first time in almost 5 years, Ganbare☆Joshi got an entire show to themselves. This was the third of four events Ganbare☆Wrestling held in Oji BASEMENT MON☆STAR today. Moeka Haruhi, HARUKAZE and Asuka got together for an exciting show against a trio representing the DDT Wrestling Classroom. Haruhi said her goal was to have a better show than the Katsumura-gun Vs Shota-gun event that took place earlier in the day.

The opening bout saw Haruhi take on Banny Oikawa in a 2 Count Fall match. With only two seconds needed to pin the opponent, the match was more tense than usual. Haruhi got one count nearfalls with a Diving Body Press and a Missile Dropkick. She was finally able to pin Oikawa with a Double Wrist Armsault.

HARUKAZE wanted a match with Yuu solely focused on mat wrestling so they both wore judo jackets. Yuu’s power was too much to handle. She used a Power Bomb to break out of a Cross Armbreaker and got a submission win by using the sleeve of HARUKAZE’s jacket to choke her out.

The last singles match of the challenge was between Asuka and Cherry in a Count Up Falls Match. Every second of a pin was added together until a target number was reached. The judges Ken Ohka, Kouki Iwasaki and Yumehito Imanari decided that the targets would be the wrestlers’ respective ages. So Asuka needed to reach 21 seconds while Cherry needed to get 45 seconds. It was an uphill battle for Cherry but her ring experience kept her on pace with Asuka. The match reached the point where Asuka was on 20 while Cherry made it to 44. One more second was needed for a winner to be declared. A Backslide Pin led to both women having their shoulders pinned at the same time so the match resulted in a draw. The team challenge would be decided in the main event.

The side attraction was a Lariat match between a bunch of mostly male wrestlers doing cross dressing gimmicks. Miss Mongol was the odd one out here. There was confusion when KEIKO (Keisuke Ishii) wrestled topless. Shigeko Deluxe (Shigehiro Irie) made her regret it with Chops in the corner. Theme songs of famous Lariat users played throughout the match. The Lariats turned to Dropkicks when the music changed to the AJW theme song. Eagle Washida (Shuhei Washida) got booed when he did Big Boots although to be fair “Soul Of A Champion” began to play so she was really doing a Giant Baba tribute. She did Neckbreaker Drops which are close enough to Lariats. She then did Sling Blades when “HIGH ENERGY” played. She then did a Rainmaker pose but Shigeko clocked her with a Lariat for the win.

The main event was a Secret Captain’s Fall Elimination match. Defeat the team captain to win but the captain would not be revealed until they were eliminated. Over The Top Rope eliminations were included and that was how the wrestlers were taken out of the match. When it came down to HARUKAZE and Cherry it was clear that they were both the captains. Cherry ended up standing on the ring apron and was knocked to the floor with a Spear to make the GanJo team the winners!

HARUKAZE said when she joined Ganpro, she was the only woman in the group so she was worried if she would be accepted. She didn’t get much cheers for her early matches but as time went by more and more fans supported her. Now she feels like she is a member of Ganpro.

The theme of Gake no Fuchi in 2020 is “I Want To Help Those Who Are In Need With Pro Wrestling”. Miyako Matsumoto is continuing this theme by using pro wrestling to find a potential bride for Chikara. This came about when Chikara took part in a rap battle and owned himself by admitting he can’t get married. The “bride” in question is Mao from the idol group Senosister. She describes herself as the Atsushi Onita of the idol world, having attended a Super FMW show in 2016 and getting Onita’s “holy water” thrown at her. She saw a picture of Chikara and was turned off because he looks like her uncle. Nevertheless, she agreed to attend the next show because her rent is due and she wants the money. Munenori Sawa was also invited to help out.

Two guest wrestlers from CMLL will be on the show. Dalys returns to Tokyo Joshi Pro after touring with the company last September. La Jarochita makes her TJPW debut. The two luchadoras are in Japan for a Lady’s Ring show co-promoted with CMLL. The show is taking place three days before this one and has Dalys facing Mina Shirakawa for the newly created CMLL Japan Women’s Title.

There is a flu going around this week and it hit the Big Japan roster pretty hard. A number of wrestlers had to pull out of shows this week either due to the flu or high fevers. Ryuji Ito, Isami Kodaka, Ryota Hama, Brahman Shu, Orca Uto and Yuki Ishikawa are all out of the New Year’s Eve show. This means five teams had to be changed with one team entirely getting replaced. Due to other commitments of the legal kind, Atsushi Onita is unable to wrestle on this show. However he already went and gotten his replacement. He found The Great Nita wandering around the Indian Ocean and heard Nita wanted to celebrate the new year in Japan. So Onita invited him to visit and take his place in the main event. This will be the first wrestling match for The Great Nita since August 2017.

Yukio Naya met with Onita and asked if he could be part of the next Bakuha Koshien show on 28th March. Onita will consider it if Naya renames himself Taiho III after his grandfather Taiho Koki.

In the D-Ou Grand Prix, the final block match between HARASHIMA and Masato Tanaka ended in a time limit draw. Out of this result Tanaka qualified for the final and ended up winning the tournament. But he will not consider DDT fully conquered until he can beat HARASHIMA. The KO-D Openweight Champion feels the same and is putting the title on the line for the chance to beat Tanaka.

Daisuke Kiso wanted the main event to definitively decided which team is better so he made it an Elimination Tag Match.

The 2 Count match was made to even the playing field between Moeka Haruhi and the less experienced Banny Oikawa.

Both HARUKAZE and Yuu will be wrestling in judo jackets because HARUKAZE wants the match to be entirely about grappling and groundwork.

The Count-Up Fall Match adds up the pinfall counts a wrestler makes. The first to reach their total count up to a predetermined number wins. Cherry’s opponent will be revealed on the day of the show. The mystery wrestler is hinted to be very beautiful and will also be a regular for Ganbare☆Wrestling in 2020.

Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie, Shota, Shuhei Washida and Shin Suzuki were all meant to be on the show but now they will not be there. Luckily a bunch of “joshi” replacements were quickly found.

6a. Rematch – Hardcore Tag Match: Magnitude Kishiwada & Shigehiro Irie defeated Ken Ohka & Kouki Iwasaki when Irie pinned Ohka with the Beast Bomber (19:01).

It’s been around 21 months since Ganbare☆Wrestling was last in Osaka. Ken Ohka couldn’t wait any longer to get his hands on Magnitude Kishiwada when it was time for the main event. Both of them brawled around the ring from the bell and got counted out after a minute. Ohka demanded that the match restart under Hardcore rules with no countouts. Kishiwada quickly took advantage and busted Ohka’s forehead with a chairshot. Kouki Iwasaki tried to help Ohka but Kishiwada got rid of him while Shigehiro Irie focused on Ohka. Chairs were piled in the middle of the ring for Irie to give the Fire Thunder to Ohka on to. Ohka would fight back with the chairs and hit the Fire Spear but Kishiwada broke the pin. Ohka would get beaten down with the Last Ride from Kishiwada and a Diving Body Press from Irie but he kicked out. Irie finally put him away with the Beast Bomber.

After the match Kishiwada had some nasty words to say about Ganpro. This led to Iwasaki attacking him and another fight breaking out. Kishiwada called everyone his enemies, including Irie. More fights broke out between Kishiwada and Iwasaki. When Kishiwada finally left, Ohka said there is one strong man in Osaka and he will eventually catch up and overtake him!

Thankfully the rest of the Osaka scene are getting along with Ganpro. Yumehito Imanari appointed Kuuga as the head of the Kansai branch of Pocchari Joshi.

4. Itabashi Three Major Singles Match ~ Mr. Ganbare☆Wrestling Vs Mr. Showtime~: Ken Ohka defeated Shota with the Vertical Drop Brainbuster (11:00).
5. Young Communication Vs Gakusei Pro Wrestler Special 6-Man Tag Match: Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie & Kazuki Hirata defeated Yumehito Imanari, Mitomi Masayuki & Shinichiro Tominaga when Hirata pinned Tominaga with the Egoist Driver (21:53).

The reunited Young Communication generation were victorious over the College Club team. The ending had Yumehito Imanari get isolated. Keisuke Ishii threw him with a German Suplex, Shigehiro Irie crushed him with a Cannonball in the corner and Kazuki Hirata hit the GO! GO! Splash. Imanari kicked out of the pin but was put away with the Egoist Driver.

After Ken Ohka defeated Shota he demanded that he, Imanari & Miss Mongol get another shot at the GWC 6-Man Tag Team Titles. Shota told him he will have to send an email to Kenichiro Arai for his permission. Ohka wants the title match to take place on 22nd December because everybody on both teams will be available on that date.

HARUKAZE was absent from the show. Replacing her was Hara Mongol. She was supposed to team with Nightshade but instead joined Miss Mongol’s side. Nightshade teamed with Moeka Haruhi and they were able to beat the Mongol team.

Atsushi Onita demonstrated the power of the Current Blast to some of the wrestlers booked on the show. Yukio Naya, FUMA and Yumehito Imanari wanted to know what the blasts are like so Onita hit a pumpkin with a current blast baseball bat. Obviously the pumpkin did not survive. Even more scary is Onita told them the blasts will be twice as powerful on the show! He wants to use the most powerful explosions ever for a current blast death match!

A joshi match will be the last addition to the show.

The last time Magnitude Kishiwada was in Ganbare☆Wrestling was in March 2018. On that show he defeated Ken Ohka not once but twice when Ohka said he would fight him again and again until he could beat him. A long time has passed since then but they are going to lock horns once more, this time with Kouki Iwasaki and Shigehiro Irie also involved. Speaking of Iwasaki and Irie, those two have clashed several times in Ganpro this year so their interactions are something to look out for too.

1. If You Do It, Start Over! Shuhei Washida Trial Singles Match: Shigehiro Irie defeated Shuhei Washida with the Beast Splash (9:43).
2. Halloween Cosplay 3 Way Match: Cherry defeated Moeka Haruhi and HARUKAZE when Cherry pinned HARUKAZE with the Spring Night Love (5:18).
3. Special Single Match: Ken Ohka defeated Takato Nakano with the Fire Spear (8:46).
4. Iwasaki Family Vs Momota Family: Kouki Iwasaki defeated Chikara with the Vertical Drop Brainbuster (12:01).
5. GWC 6-Man Tag Team Titles ~ Hattoshite Good Alps Industry Vs Gakusei Pro Wrestlers: Kenichiro Arai, Masked Mystery & Shota (c) defeated Yumehito Imanari, Joji Otani & Shin Suzuki when Shota pinned Imanari with a Leg Roll Clutch (15:46).

6. Special Tag Match Right Before Ryogoku – Indie Jr. Champions! Defended 11 Times In Total: Keisuke Ishii & Shuichiro Katsumura defeated Ken Ohka & Isami Kodaka when Katsumura submitted Ohka with the Ninja Choke (29:50).

The main event came close to ending in a time limit draw. In the final minute Shuichiro Katsumura put Ken Ohka in the Ninja Choke while Keisuke Ishii got rid of Isami Kodaka with the Tiger Suplex. Ohka used a Vertical Drop Brainbuster to try and fight out of the choke but Katsumura held on and got the submission victory. Kodaka criticised Ohka for not lasting another 10 seconds to get the draw. But he was impressed by how strong Ishii & Katsumura are. He hopes to face them again even if his independent status makes it a little less possible. Ishii said he was surrounded by champions so he couldn’t lose today. He is now the best Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Champion of the bunch! Katsumura credited his drive to win back the title as the reason he won today. Ohka pointed out that he wrestled twice on the show.

For the Cosplay match Moeka Haruhi dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood, HARUKAZE was dressed as a Kyonshi vampire and Cherry was dressed as Haruhi, wearing her entire wrestling gear. The match finish had Haruhi climbing the corner to do the Diving Foot Stomp to HARUKAZE but Cherry snuck in and pinned HARUKAZE with the Spring Night Love before Haruhi could jump.

Shigehiro Irie offered to shake Shuhei Washida’s hand after their match. Washida slapped him across the face. An angry Irie kicked Washida away in response.

Kodaka got to reunite with Cherry at the end of the show. The two were part of Union Pro together from its launch to its closure. Their message is all wrestling is connected. You are alive with professional wrestling!
