That Naruki Doi fella has been full of surprises lately. He recently announced his move from DRAGONGATE to freelance status. Who could have guessed DDT would be his first new destination of choice? He heard about the existence of the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles and would like to win them. When Toru Owashi found out he put together himself, Doi & Kazuki Hirata to challenge the new champions Ω. It is a team DDT is calling the Dragon Gene Trio. Doi has two other dates with DDT on 13th November and 4th December so win or lose he’ll be sticking around for the short term.

Kazusada Higuchi is going into tomorrow’s show with his injured hand in an even worse state thanks to Daisuke Sasaki hitting it with a chair in the hallway after yesterday’s show. Defending the KO-D Tag Team Titles with Naomi Yoshimura against Sasaki & KANON isn’t all Higuchi has to worry about. Shinya Aoki has promised to show up with the Right To Challenge NFT as well.
There will be an announcement of a tag team making their way to DDT for the first time for the 29th December show. Who the team is will be revealed tomorrow.

6. Miu Watanabe & Suzume Vs Yuki Aino & Moka Miyamoto
7. Yuka Sakazaki, Maki Itoh & Haruna Neko Vs Rhia O’Reilly, Hikari Noa & Arisu Endo
The time has come to decide who will be the winner of Yume Pro Wrestling -dream on the ring-. When all three exhibition matches are completed an audience vote will determine which one out of Risako, Wakana Uehara and Himari Manaka will go on to make her professional wrestling debut. The three idols already have ring gear made for the show and one of them even created their own entrance music. Uehara made a song called “Keep my heart burning” to be used as her theme.
Rhia O’Reilly isn’t done with Tokyo Joshi Pro yet. She is put into the mix with some of TJPW’s top players before she goes home.
What has Pom Harajuku done to keep getting put in the ring with Max The Impaler? It won’t help that Max is possibly angry over having to team with Yuki Kamifuku instead of Yuki Aino. That’s not the Yuki they like!

6. Special Single Match ~Road Of Former Champions~: Tetsuya Endo Vs Masahiro Takanashi
7. Double Main Event I Special Tag Match ~Wrestling Master Jrs Vs The 37KAMIINA~: Daisuke Sasaki & HUB Vs Yuki Ueno & Shunma Katsumata:
8. Double Main Event II Special Tag Match Osaka Monogatari ~ Destruction Demon King Vs The “It Was The Power Of Wrestling That Resolved The Worst Of Their Relationship To The Point Where They Didn’t Even See Eye To Eye. Their Belief Is That There Is Never A Normal Good Match And The Common Denominator Is An Unusual wrestling Head”z~: Kazusada Higuchi & Naomi Yoshimura Vs Shigehiro Irie & MAO
The final match on the show is something Yukinori Matsui had wanted to do for a long time. He believes if Shigehiro Irie & MAO can get along and be on the same page it could result in an amazing tag team. Irie & MAO had a falling out several years ago when Irie left DDT but their icy relationship began to thaw at the last New Year’s Eve show. Matsui has the happiest of all to see the two repair their friendship and has high hopes the two will work great together. Irie is also close with Kazusada Higuchi & Naomi Yoshimura. He held the KO-D Tag Team Titles one time with Higuchi and spent time with Yoshimura when the two wrestled in Canada together back in 2018.
Yuki Ueno said he is looking forward to facing HUB because he admires him so much. Ueno got into wrestling when his high school classmate Konosuke Takeshita became a wrestler. He quickly discovered Osaka Pro and HUB/Super Dolphin was the person who stood out to him the most. It is why Ueno uses the WR as his finisher because it was originally HUB’s move first.
The last time Tetsuya Endo Vs Masahiro Takanashi was supposed to happen both wrestlers held the top two singles titles in DDT. Things have changed a lot since then and now the match is happening under different circumstances. Endo is still hoping to gain something from the match that will help him in the future. Takanashi still represents the older years of DDT that are different to the era Tetsuya Endo broke in with. The match is just as much a clash of two different DDT ideologies as it is two former champions facing off.

7. Makoto Oishi 20th Anniversary Match ~ Men’s Club Vs The 37KAMIINA: Makoto Oishi, MEN’S Teioh & Shiori Asahi Vs Yuki Ueno, MAO & Shunma Katsumata
8. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Kazusada Higuchi & Naomi Yoshimura (c) Vs Daisuke Sasaki & KANON
Daisuke Sasaki is spreading lies about Harimao being bad for DDT. He claimed at a press conference Hisaya Imabayashi is expecting the company to decline because Higuchi & Yoshimura are the KO-D Tag Champions so he is begging Sasaki & KANON to win the belts for DDT’s sake. KANON wants to add another title belt to the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles and thinks the red tag belts will look better on DAMNATION T.A. The matches building up to the title shot saw Sasaki & KANON target Higuchi’s right hand.
The Men’s Club reunion is supposed to be a one time get together to celebrate Makoto Oishi’s 20th Anniversary. However there’s been a little bit of speculation that if they win against The 37KAMIINA then Oishi & Shiori Asahi might try and convince MEN’S Teioh to revive the unit for a new generation.
Takeshi Masada has been training with a former K-1 World Champion to prepare for his match with Yukio Sakaguchi. Masada approached Hideaki Yamazaki for advice against Sakaguchi’s kicks. Yamazaki inspected Masada’s Roundhouse Kick and agreed to teach him his signature Hanging Kick to use against Sakaguchi.
There was more trickery in the press conference during Yuki Ishida’s interview. Danshoku Dieno showed up disguised as a reporter and kept asking him shameful questions. When Ishida and Imabayashi figured out it was Dieno, he attacked the both of them and left them in a beaten state with their backsides both exposed. Dieno then took over the interview and complained about having another “Final Battle” against Sanshiro Takagi on 23rd October. It wasn’t until he finished and left the room when Matsui revived both Ishida and Imabayashi.

1. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Hartley Jackson (c) Vs Shuichiro Katsumura
It’s been proven that strength and passion on their own is not enough to beat Hartley Jackson. So now it is up to Shuichiro Katsumura to prove that a mixture of skill, speed, stamina and strategy can get the job done. The spotlight is on him as much as it can be because the match is taking place in his hometown. If he wins the Spirit Of Ganbare Title he has already said he wants to give Ken Ohka the first title shot. Katsumura considers Jackson to be a good friend so he offered to take him out for a meal after their match. Jackson loves the idea but is worried Katsumura will have a broken jaw and won’t be able to walk after he beats him. It would be rude if he has to spend the entire meal lying on the floor looking up at Jackson eating and drinking everything.

1. Kouki Iwasaki Ganbare☆Pro Wrestling Last Match: Keisuke Ishii Vs Kouki Iwasaki
Today it’s been announced that Kouki Iwasaki will terminate his contract with Ganbare☆Pro at the end of this year. He is leaving the promotion and will continue wrestling as a freelancer. It is a decision he was thinking about for over a year because he is at his most fulfilled both physically and mentally. He and his wife are also expecting their first child during the new year so he thinks now is the time to move on to fighting new opponents from the outside world. He does not have any specific places where he wants to work other than he wants to be in places where he can grow and step up. His final match as a member of Ganpro is against his friend Keisuke Ishii on 27th December.
Ganpro publicly introduced their current trainee, who comes from the cabaret world. Riara is said to be a “legendary cabaret club girl” from the No. 1 club in Kabukicho. Born in Kurihara City, Miyagi she discovered pro wrestling in 4th grade and once sent in a resume to LLPW. She began working at hostess clubs in Sendai at the age of 19 and moved to Tokyo after the 2011 earthquake. In Kabukicho she achieved many accomplishments within her field and became very popular. However she had always wanted to follow her dream to be a pro wrestler and met with Sanshiro Takagi through a mutual acquaintance. After their meeting, Riara graduated from the cabaret world and in June became a Ganpro trainee. Takagi said Riara has already shown the motivation and passion needed to reach to the top. She still has a way to go before she has a wrestling match but will be able to start doing ringside duties at Ganpro shows soon. Riara grew up as a fan of Atsushi Onita, nWo Japan and Hiroyoshi Tenzan. She would like to be in an Exploding Death Match with Onita. Takagi said he can recommend her to Onita if she debuts and shows she can do well in the ring.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “WRESTLE PRINCESS III”, 09/10/2022
Tokyo Dome City Hall
1. Aja Kong, Raku & Pom Harajuku Vs Rika Tatsumi, Yuki Aino & Max The Impaler
2. Mizuki Vs Hyper Misao
3. International Princess Title: Alex Windsor (c) Vs Miu Watanabe
4. Princess Tag Team Titles: Saki Akai & Yuki Arai (c) Vs Rhia O’Reilly & Nightshade
5. Princess Of Princess Title: Shoko Nakajima (c) Vs Yuka Sakazaki
The return of Alex Windsor to Japan is happening just in time because there is now a No. 1 Contender for her International Princess Title. Last week Miu Watanabe won the next title shot and will now face Windsor for the belt at “WRESTLE PRINCESS III”. Winning the title here will continue her big momentum coming out of the summer.
Two pro wrestling beasts will collide! For ages Tetsuya Koda thought that Aja Kong was the only monster left in joshi. Then he discovered Max The Impaler and brought the wasteland warrior over to Tokyo Joshi Pro. Max looked unstoppable in their few appearances here so Koda found himself in an embarrassing position to look for help, otherwise his roster is going to get destroyed by Max one wrestler at a time. Luckily for him, Kong always shows up at TJPW’s most important shows and Koda thinks she is the only one who can hunt down Max. There’s one problem though. If Kong and Max fight each other outside the ring they could end up causing a lot of damage around Tokyo Dome City Hall and TJPW will have to pay what will certainly be a massive repair bill. Koda’s solution is to ask the other four women in the match to stop that from happening and keep the two monsters within the squared circle. Kong gets along with Raku & Pom Harajuku while Max took a liking to Rika Tatsumi & Yuki Aino so there’s a chance our hapless heroes can somehow calm down the monsters enough to keep the match under control.
The main event is between a member of Kyoraku Kyomei and The Magical Sugar Rabbits. So let’s have the other halves of both teams face off against each other too. Hyper Misao and Mizuki have only one previous singles match together that happened back in 2018. Mizuki won that match. Misao will need to come up with something clever to even the score.

1. Pheromones Vs Takagi-gun Complete Settlement Battle FINAL: X Vs X
It’s the final battle between Sanshiro Takagi and Pheromones. Again. For like the fourth time I think? Well they mean it this time. Takagi is once more trying to destroy Pheromones for good before they destroy the company. With four members in the unit, Pheromones claim they are complete and at the pique of their power. But Takagi cannot risk letting them continue to exist in this way. The match type and participants for the climactic battle in this war has not been decided yet. If it’s all four members of Pheromones involved then that means Yuki Iino, Danshoku Dieno, Yumehito Imanari & Koju Takeda taking part. Takagi has been relying lately on Antonio Honda, Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata to compete against them. So the cast is there for a 4 Vs 4 Tag match of some kind. That nothing has been decided yet makes me wonder if there is a wild card going to be played by either side.
“The Iai Puncher” Hikaru Machida will be on the show.
“MASAHIRO TAKANASHI INDEPENDENT PERFORMANCE – BOKUTACHI 4 HANJUKU 4 I LOVE YOU! 2022”, 22/11/2022
Shinjuku FACE
1. Daisuke Sekimoto Vs Masahiro Takanashi
Twelve years ago in Shinjuku FACE there was a KO-D Openweight Title defence. The outsider champion Daisuke Sekimoto put the belt on the line against little Masa Takanashi. What followed was a classic David Vs Goliath bout with a performance from Takanashi that was seconds away from being described as a miracle victory. Sekimoto won the match in the end and remained champion. The two never had never faced against each other since then. Well soon will be time for the rematch in the same room. Masahiro Takanashi has grown a lot since that title challenge and after a twelve year wait is going to face Sekimoto one more time in the main event of his own self produced show.

1. Hikari Noa, Nao Kakuta & Kaya Toribami defeated Yuki Aino, Raku & Pom Harajuku when Noa pinned Harajuku with the Blizzard Suplex (10:50).
2. 3 Way Match: Hyper Misao defeated Yuki Kamifuku and Haruna Neko when Misao pinned Neko with the Hypami Returns (7:45).
3. Rika Tatsumi defeated Mahiro Kiryu with the Twist Of Fate (9:57).
4. Mei Suruga defeated Moka Miyamoto with the Gateau Invisible (10:27).
5. Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki defeated Shoko Nakajima & Arisu Endo when Sakazaki pinned Endo with the Magical Merry-Go-Round (12:46).
6. International Princess Title Next Challenger Match: Miu Watanabe defeated Suzume with the Tear Drop (13:09).
A No. 1 Contender for the International Princess Title has been decided. Miu Watanabe and Suzume were the two wrestlers chosen to be in the match due to their strong performances in this year’s Tokyo Princess Cup. Watanabe’s strength beat out Suzume’s speed and now she has a title shot to look forward too. It was announced earlier in the show that Alex Windsor returns to Japan next month for “WRESTLE PRINCESS III” so the title match will happen there on 9th October. Watanabe said this past summer was unforgettable for her. She does not want to stop her momentum as she climbs closer towards her seniors but needs to gain more experience and success to get there. Winning the IP Title from Windsor is something she wants to do.
Shoko Nakajima was on the losing side against Yuka Sakazaki today, showing she still has work to do to get ready for “WRESTLE PRINCESS III”. She thinks once she has completed polishing the skills she has now, she will be able to defend the Princess Of Princess Title successfully. Sakazaki lost her voice during the match. She and Mizuki made Little Mermaid jokes about it afterwards.
Match #4 was originally supposed to be Moka Miyamoto Vs Abadon but visa problems cancelled Abadon’s trip to Japan. Mei Suruga took her place and she decided to bite Miyamoto a bunch during the match. She did it to prove she is a more unpredictable opponent than Abadon and also so Miyamoto will remember her if the match with Abadon ever happens in the future. Suruga also prays that Miyamoto won’t lose against Abadon.
The trio of Hikari Noa, Nao Kakuta & Kaya Toribami went by the team name Free Chicken. That’s what you get when you mix Free WiFi with a cassowary apparently.

AEW “TOKYO GAME SHOW 2022 EXHIBITION MATCH”, 16/09/2022
Chiba Makuhari Messe Hall
1. AEW: Fight Forever Exhibition Match: Christopher Daniels Vs Chris Brookes
2. AEW: Fight Forever Exhibition Match: Ryo Mizunami Vs Hikari Noa
3. AEW: Fight Forever Exhibition Match: Konosuke Takeshita Vs Winner Of Match #1
There’s the confirmation over what I was talking about from yesterday’s post. AEW are holding exhibition matches at the Tokyo Game Show with DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro also involved. There will be matches held over three days with a variety of wrestlers from the promotions already mentioned plus a few more names in store. On Day 1 the first two matches will be held at 1:00 pm. Match #3 will be at 3:00 pm.
Other names advertised to appear during the weekend are Riho, Michael Nakazawa, Yuka Sakazaki, Maki Itoh, Hagane Shinno and Yuki Ueno. Itoh I’m surprised by because she has a match in Canada on Friday and a match in America on Saturday. Does the time difference work out for her to make it back on Sunday? There are also a few big name omissions given who is also in the country this weekend. Earlier today Hikaru Shida starred in the latest Makai performance and Emi Sakura was running a Gatoh Move event. And of course there is all the talk surrounding Kenny Omega. He is currently suspended from AEW related business due to investigations over the incident that is now referred to online as “Brawl Out”.
The latest gossip is Omega will not be involved with the promotion for AEW’s video game at TGS. News has since come out that both Nakazawa and Christopher Daniels have been cleared of any wrongdoing so their suspensions have been lifted and they can go ahead with their duties. Omega however is over in Japan on his own volition working on personal projects with Sega and Capcom. He visited Sega’s office and posted pictures of himself getting scanned, presumably to become a character for one of the upcoming Yakuza/Like A Dragon games in production. The Capcom connection is an upcoming panel appearance to talk about Street Fighter 6. Oh yeah and he reunited with Kota Ibushi too. As much as that tugs on my heartstrings I won’t go any further with that unless The Golden Lovers reunion makes its way over to DDT. Don’t hold your breath with that one.
Once every match from all three days is completed I will gather them all together for a results post along with video links should they be filmed on any of THQ Nordic’s social channels. Normally I would save AEW results for my Around The World posts but this is all happening in Japan with more direct involvement from DDT and TJPW than usual. So I may as well give the results their own post.

5. Shoko Nakajima & Arisu Endo Vs Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki
6. International Princess Title Next Challenger Match: Miu Watanabe Vs Suzume
Sadly Abadon could not get a visa ready in time to travel and cannot be in Japan this weekend. Their appearance at tomorrow’s TJPW show has been cancelled and Mei Suruga is being called in to be Moka Miyamoto’s new opponent. Abadon was meant to be at TGS first and foremost. The TJPW booking was made after the fact but visa troubles with the “event organiser” happened shortly afterwards. Attempts were made to solve the problem but the booking was cancelled in the end. This is not a problem exclusive to AEW contracted wrestlers (see Timothy Thatcher and NOAH last month) but I’m worried this happening so close to Willow Nightingale’s cancelled booking is revealing a trend.

7. Jun Akiyama Debut 30th Anniversary Match – Special 6-Man Tag Match: Jun Akiyama, Tetsuya Endo & Yoshinobu Kanemaru Vs Yuji Nagata, Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata
Jun Akiyama gave a few comments on the card for DDT’s website. He made some DDT to All Japan comparisons, saying Sanshiro Takagi is DDT’s Giant Baba. He also named Konosuke Takeshita, Tetsuya Endo, Kazusada Higuchi and Naomi Yoshimura as DDT’s Four Pillars. Because Takagi is like Baba, Akiyama describes Takagi’s tag match against Pheromones as something like the Family Gundan Vs Akuyaku Shokai comedy bouts that AJPW held throughout the 90s. Does that make Antonio Honda this generation’s Rusher Kimura?
Kenta Kobashi will be a special guest commentator on the show. He was Akiyama’s debut opponent.

2. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Hartley Jackson (c) Vs Yuna Manase
A big shift in Ganbare☆Pro’s main event scene was made after Hartley Jackson won the Spirit Of Ganbare Title from Yumehito Imanari. The first person to challenge him for the belt is Yuna Manase! The two have been in the ring together before over at ZERO1. Manase thinks Jackson does not know the meaning of Ganbare so she won’t let him extinguish its flame.
Nightshade won’t just be working with TJPW when she returns to Japan next month. She will be at Ganpro for the first time in 3 years too. Her match is a chaotic mix of joshi talent including the Ganpro debut of Ram Kaichow!

The midcard is filled up with four significant singles matches. 6. International Princess Title Next Challenger Match: Miu Watanabe Vs Suzume
Now we know who Moka Miyamoto’s opponent is. It’s Abadon, the “Living Dead Girl” from AEW! There are a couple of AEW people in Japan this week for a variety of reasons. The main reason is for the Tokyo Game Show where AEW’s upcoming video game will be on display. A wrestling ring has been set up at THQ Nordic’s section of the convention hall and exhibition matches will be held during the week much like what was done at Gamescom in Germany last month. Haruo Murata hinted in a tweet that a few DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro wrestlers could be involved in these matches. Since it is AEW related that suggests Konosuke Takeshita and Yuka Sakazaki (who is in the game) could be having matches there. Maki Itoh I’m doubtful of because she is travelling to North America for shows this weekend, if she hasn’t done so already. If there is DDT/TJPW related matches I will group them together in a post once they’re all done.

There’s the PERON GRANDES involvement I was worried about. Shogun Okamoto & Akira Raijin are there to ruin ONLY WE’s show unless Quiet Storm & Yukio Naya can stop them.
Do tomatoes and apples go well together? I never really thought about it until I saw Hibiscus Mii & Kaji Tomato be put on the same team together. Maybe Saki Akai & Shunma Katsumata can find out.

Yumehito Imanari has a background role in the upcoming movie “ROMAN PORNO NOW”, the latest release from a long running softcore movie series entering its 50th anniversary. Imanari is citing this as proof that his career is not dead after losing the Spirit Of Ganbare Title to Hartley Jackson last week. DAMNATION T.A could end up having both sets of tag team titles during October. They currently hold the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles and have to defend them against Ω, the faction that originally came from K-DOJO. When Yuji Hino found out about DAMNATION T.A’s formation he was upset to be left out of it. So he and Makoto Oishi started teaming up again. Now they are bringing back Shiori Asahi and the three of them want to take the belts from Hino’s former friends. They have the homefield advantage too because Chiba was K-DOJO territory. Something Hino might need to be worried about is PERON GRANDES are also booked for the show. That unit is involved in a never ending feud with Hino’s ONLY WE group, who will also be on the show. PERON GRANDES and DAMNATION T.A have gotten along in the past so they can possibly interfere on behalf of the champions.
