A press conference was held for Riho, Shoko Nakajima, Suzume and Arisu Endo to talk about their match. The Twin Cam Monsters are looking forward to teaming together again and to do so in a big venue. Suzume faced against that team in her debut match back in 2019. She has gotten a lot of experience since then but understands it is nothing compared to the experience levels Riho & Nakajima are at. Suzume was also the opponent for Endo’s debut match so she thinks they have the chemistry to make a good team. Nakajima doesn’t expect to lose but predicts Suzume & Endo can overtake the Twin Cam Monsters in the future. Riho also said she is looking forward to the main event because she hasn’t seen Maki Itoh since they wrestled each other in AEW.

What is next for Daisuke Sasaki? His unit is gone, he declined to enter the D-Ou Grand Prix and he has a DDT Universal Title defence coming up. Apparently he has something up his sleeve. It might just be more drink and depression though.
After an emotional weekend, Konosuke Takeshita wants to see a bright future while he holds both the KO-D Openweight Title and KO-D Tag Team Titles. His motivations for defending the KO-D Title on his own is different from defending the KO-D Tag Titles with Shunma Katsumata. He wants to pursue many different possibilities while being a double champion.
Yumiko Hotta pinned Shinya Aoki with the help of a steel chain during yesterday’s pre-show match. She challenged him for the DDT Extreme Title afterwards. Aoki wanted the match to take place at a RIZIN show because they both fought there in the past. They have to settle for DDT instead.
Hotta’s disciple Riko Kawahata approached Sanshiro Takagi asking to wrestle on a DDT show. Hotta was displeased to see her student go out of line this way but Takagi decided to give her a chance. After watching footage of Kawahata in action, Takagi thinks she has great potential so he is booking her to fight Saki Akai. Hotta had a change of heart after Takagi explained that Kawahata’s behavior is very All Japan Women’s like. She understands his point and is now supporting Kawahata’s decision to enter DDT. Takagi is hoping for the match to be successful in order to promote more joshi matches in DDT.
DDT has decided to rename the Under Match to the Dark Match. They originally started calling the pre-show bouts the Dark Match but at some point switched to Under Match for reasons nobody can remember. So they’re going back to calling it the Dark Match.

The youngster project now called DDTeeeen!! holds its first show with all four students taking part. El Unicorn and Ilusion are quickly establishing a rivalry together but the other two wrestlers are also familiar with each other. Vent Vert Jack and You-sei☆Estrella are both 16 years old and are from the MY WAY promotion in Kyushu. Jack is 16cm tall, weighs 61kg and once held the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title at 9 years old. Estrella is 173cm tall, weighs 66kg and is a month younger than Jack. They both had their debut match against each other in 2012.

The opening day matches of the D-Ou Grand Prix 2021 II have been announced. Takeshita meets Yuji Okabayashi for the first time since he won the KO-D Tag Titles from him. Since he is entering the tournament as the champion, Takeshita wants to fight every match as if it is a title match. That means he cannot stand to lose even one match.
I’ll have a proper D-Ou Grand Prix post written up when the full schedule is revealed.
The ultimate fate of DDT is possibly on the line if Pheromones win the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. Their lewd antics could get DDT into so much trouble it could spell the end of the company if they are not stopped! It’s up to Sanshiro Takagi, Yusuke Okada and a third person to save the day. If they lose then Takagi cannot order Pheromones to stop their bad behavior.

Naomi Yoshimura takes his place in Masahiro Takanashi’s return match.
Morning Musume member Haruna Iikubo will be accompanying the Humanity team as the character she plays in Record Of Ragnarok.

Takuya Nomura is guaranteed to be wrestling on the show even if he loses the IRON FIST Tag Titles at Big Japan before then.

2. Hyper Misao defeated Kaya Toribami with the I Am A Hero (7:23).
3. Yuki Aino & Raku defeated Hikari Noa & Nao Kakuta when Aino pinned Noa with the UBV (Infinite Love And Flame) (10:01).
4. Sakisama & Mei Saint-Michel defeated Mizuki & Pom Harajuku when Sakisama submitted Harajuku with the Versailles Foot Choke (12:33).
5. Miyu Yamashita, Miu Watanabe & Yuki Arai Vs Maki Itoh, Shoko Nakajima & Moka Miyamoto ended in a Time Limit Draw (20:00).
Miyu Yamashita and Maki Itoh found themselves on equal footing for most of the main event. While Miu Watanabe, Yuki Arai, Shoko Nakajima and Moka Miyamoto all had their parts to play, the match came down to Yamashita and Itoh in the final moments. Itoh countered the Crash Rabbit Heat into a Crab Hold. Yamashita reached the ropes but her Skull Kick attempt missed and Itoh put her in the Itoh Deluxe. Time ran out before we could find out if the move would make Yamashita give up. Neither woman had much to say to each other after the match.
The presence of Yuka Sakazaki at ringside during Match #4 kept bothering Sakisama. Sakazaki was only there to do ringside duties but that was enough for Sakisama to glare at her and lose focus on the match. Meanwhile Mei Saint-Michel got on Mizuki’s bad side by playing with parts of her ring costume. NEO Biishiki-gun won anyway and confronted The Magical Sugar Rabbits in the ring. Sakisama offered Mizuki to join her side so she could become more graceful, pretty and beautiful. Mizuki yelled “No!” The only thing about NEO Biishiki-gun she finds attractive are the Princess Tag Team Titles. MagiRabi want to take those belts and make the world a more peaceful place. Saint-Michel called them selfish and won’t ever forgive them for threatening to take the titles away. Sakisama accepted MagiRabi’s challenge and wants the title match to happen at “WRESTLE PRINCESS II”!
Never underestimate Yuki Aino! She pinned another champion in a tag match today, this time Hikari Noa. She told Noa that even though she lost to Yamashita recently, her fire never disappeared. Instead it burns even more! Aino then challenged Noa for the International Princess Title. Noa understands why Aino wants the title but it belongs to her. She suggested they have the match at “WRESTLE PRINCESS II”. Noa promised to blow up Aino so she can retain her cute belt.
Hyper Misao gifted Kaya Toribami her own superhero cloak to wear while they wrestled each other. The real reason was so Misao had something to pull and choke her with. Toribami caught on and got rid of the cloak. She thought it still belonged to her after the match but Misao walked off with it.

The team-ups are done for now. Miyu Yamashita and Maki Itoh are on opposite sides for their next “WRESTLE PRINCESS II” warmup match.
Yuki Arai is quickly forming teams with her senpais. Yamashita helped train her so that’s a natural duo and she is getting along in the ring with Miu Watanabe too. The three of them team up together for the first time. Meanwhile Moka Miyamoto is becoming something of a rival to Arai as the two rookies breaking in around the same time. Shoko Nakajima gets to be the x factor in the match.

Two former KO-D Tag Team Champions are looking to take hold of the belts again. HARASHIMA was the previous champion as part of Smile Pissari until The 37KAMIINA defeated them. This time HARASHIMA is staying inside DISASTER BOX to look for a tag partner and he ended up with Naomi Yoshimura. These wrestlers are all no strangers to each other but it is still a first time tag team match up.

Osaka gets the first CDK tag match in DDT since Masahiro Takanashi’s comeback.

Shinjiro Otani fractured his left forearm during Sunday’s match against Kouki Iwasaki. The injury requires surgery and he will not be at any of Ganbare☆Pro’s upcoming shows in September and October.

The name of the show isn’t just there to sound cool. The Dramatic Survivor Unit tournament was revealed to be a reverse bracket where the losing teams advance to the final. Win a match and your team is safe, lose all your matches and your unit must split up! Sanshiro Takagi came up with the idea to avoid DDT getting stale. He wants all the teams to fight for survival and there is no bigger motivation than the survival of your unit! To make things even more riskier, if a champion team is in the disbanding unit they will be forced to vacate their titles too! So if The 37KAMIINA lose and splits up they vacate the KO-D Tag Team Titles. If DAMNATION lose and splits up they vacate the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. For Junretsu and DISASTER BOX there will be no championships stripped.

Back at the Beer Garden shows Danshoku Dieno and Yuki Iino appealed to form a tag team. Their request wasn’t met because they couldn’t come up with a suitable or tasteful team name. Well today they have their team name and also nicknames to match. From now on Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno & Yuki “Sexy” Iino are Pheromones! They immediately challenged Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata for the KO-D Tag Titles and got their shot so they would stop annoying the champions.
If the KO-D Tag Titles happen to be vacated because The 37KAMIINA lose the Dramatic Survivor tournament, then the match will be changed into a decision bout to determine the new champions. So at least Takeshita & Katsumata have a chance to reclaim the belts after they are forced to give them up.

The new KO-D Openweight Champion Takeshita took some time to reflect on his latest accomplishment. After finally beating Jun Akiyama, the KO-D Title belt now has a different weight to it and Takeshita feels a different responsibility when it comes to defending it. He is in his best condition because of this pressure and is ready to take on Chris Brookes. He hasn’t beaten Brookes since July 2019 when he defended the KO-D Title against him back then. Brookes has won every singles match they’ve had together since then, which were either championship or tournament matches.
Masahiro Takanashi has become active again since coming back from injury. Not in the ring though because ChocoPro doesn’t have one. He wrestles his first match in DDT since March 2020.

After stealing the belt multiple times over the last month, Daisuke Sasaki in now officially the DDT Universal Champion. His first title defence will be on 12th October and he has the right to choose his challenger. He chose CM Punk but DDT cannot make that happen for multiple reasons. Sasaki then picked Minoru Fujita as his back-up choice. Fujita beat Sasaki at July’s DAMNATION produced show so Sasaki wants to avenge that loss. The match is not official yet but DDT will send the challenge over to Fujita.

I am aiming to have a preview written and posted by Thursday night at the latest.
The main event will have Kenta Kobashi at ringside to witness the KO-D Openweight Title match. Whenever he shows up for big matches involving Jun Akiyama, Akiyama usually wins so he is kind of a good luck charm for him. That isn’t meant to be the intention of his appearances though. Last time he appeared in DDT he was invited by Tetsuya Endo to give advice for fighting against Akiyama.
Yuki Ueno briefly had the DDT Universal Title returned to him during today’s press conference. Hisaya Imabayashi convinced Daisuke Sasaki to send the belt back in order to sign the match contract but Sasaki did not attend the signing. Instead he sent a video message that Ueno watched. That turned out to be a trap and Sasaki was in the room all along! He ambushed Ueno, stole the belt and ran off with it yet again!
Saki Akai is determined to win the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles and silence those who are uncomfortable with her wrestling against men. Like Yuji Hino for example. He thinks having a woman on the team is like taking part in a Handicap match. Akai admits she is afraid of taking Chops from Yuji Hino (and he swears he won’t Chop her because it would result in murder) but she needs to overcome those fears to become a champion again. Yukio Sakaguchi credits Akai for burning a fire within himself and Kazusada Higuchi that they have been missing recently. That has been shown during Sakaguchi’s clashes with Soma Takao. They may have to face a cruel reality though. Endo has warned that he has only gotten better since the title match was put together. DAMNATION’s comments made Akai mad and she slapped the rest of Eruption to fire them up.
There has been an attempt by DDT recently to put together more hardcore matches. Jun Kasai has watched some and feels lukewarm towards them. They’re a bit too relaxed for his tastes. But rumours are going around that Kasai has a low pain threshold for stepping on Lego. Shunma Katsumata brought it up and Kasai avoided the topic by saying he never feels pain when he is in front of an audience. MAO wants to prove there is nothing “relaxed” about DDT’s hardcore style. Chris Brookes thinks he is being ignored because he doesn’t feature in the hype video for the match.
The youngsters from the DDT Teenage Project want to make an impact. Ilusion promises to make that impact and be the standout of the match so he can become the symbol of the project. El Unicorn is the smallest wrestler in the match but wants to be in the ring with the likes of Yuji Okabayashi and Naomi Yoshimura. They’re not the only teenagers in the match. Reimu Imai is 16 years old and looks forward to hitting the larger opponents with all he’s got. TAMURA is fascinated to see how these teenagers will fare. HARASHIMA is excited to see DDT run a big show outdoors and it reminds him of the other outdoor shows DDT has held throughout his time with them.

Oh the betrayal! HARUKAZE got Yuu Yamagata’s message loud and clear, ditching Yuna Manase after all they did to build up Ganbare☆Joshi together. Now HARUKAZE is siding with Yamagata to learn how to become stronger. Manase still has Moeka Haruhi to rely on and they will fight to bring HARUKAZE back to Ganjo.
Makoto is also sticking around for a while as part of Yamagata’s group. That’s a woman with a lot of different links and connections in the industry so not all of her matches will be attached to the Manase/Yamagata feud.

Doesn’t matter how battered and bruised she is right now because Maki Itoh could not be happier. After winning the Tokyo Princess Cup she will now face Miyu Yamashita for the Princess Of Princess Title at Ota Ward Gymnasium. Yamashita is amazed at how strong Itoh has become and she wants to beat this version of her. They’ve had several singles matches before including two Princess Title bouts and Itoh has never won any of them. They also team together as 121000000 but Itoh thought they should disband. Yamashita talked her out of it because it wouldn’t make a difference to the match. Therefore there’s no need to split the team up.
Yuki Arai is confirmed to be on the show.

A press conference was held today covering some of the important “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2021” matches. Konosuke Takeshita admitted that losing twice to Jun Akiyama is what helped make him come into this match as a much better wrestler. He wants to win the KO-D Openweight Title and say with pride that “DDT has Takeshita.” Akiyama said that although his opponent is bigger and stronger, he’s going to show him what happens when the feelings in your heart and mind prevail. Akiyama won the previous two matches by submission but will take winning the third match by pinfall if he has to.
Daisuke Sasaki was able to appear on Zoom (goofy background and all) because he is finishing up his quarantine period. His physical absence from the press conference annoyed Yuki Ueno even more because Sasaki still has the stolen DDT Universal Title.
Sanshiro Takagi explained that when students from the DDT Teenage Project turn 20 years old they will become full time members of DDT. Their school education is given priority so will not be wrestling on every show. El Unicorn said he’s been recently inspired by Momiji Nishiya, the 13 year old skateboarder who won gold at the Olympics. Ilusion said he wants to become a big name worldwide. Both of them are just as focused on fighting the big names in their match as they are fighting each other.
Yesterday Atsushi Onita gathered his team together at a parking lot in Chiba to demonstrate the explosions that will be happen for their match. A watermelon was meant to be used as the target. Kuro-chan and his group interrupted the scene and attacked Onita’s team. Super Sasadango Machine smashed the watermelon over Sanshiro Takagi’s head while Akito & Maki Itoh were both taken care of. Kuro-chan & Hikari Noa then grabbed an explosive barbed wire bat and blasted Onita with it. Kuro-chan added insult to injury by pinning Onita while Sasadango counted to three. Kuro-chan promised to retire Onita and take over the rights to explosion death matches!

There’s more to Ganbare☆Joshi than just the Manase & HARUKAZE drama. Cherry allegedly won a match against Shota in impressive fashion on the last show but no evidence of it happening exists. Whatever happened between them resulted in them now teaming together. Miss Mongol usually has Shota’s number when they fight each other and Yumehito Imanari isn’t going to be distracted by any Pocchari Joshi shenanigans.

The annual BASARA Vs Dove Pro summer feud will be a lot more cooperative this year. The BASARA show will have a lot of matches featuring BASARA and Dove wrestlers teaming together. The Dove show will be in Osaka at the end of the month but no matches have been announced yet.
Gouma will be taking part in a rap battle at the start of the show. His opponent to to be determined.

Saki Akai and Yuna Manase get a piece of each other on the road to their September singles match.

0. Special Under Match – Ultimate Vs Supreme: Tetsuya Koda defeated Hisaya Imabayashi by TKO with the Sleeper Hold (11:57).
1. Yukio Naya & Yuki Iino defeated Sanshiro Takagi & Yuya Koroku when Iino pinned Koroku with a Lariat (9:35).
2. Playfulness Series Act 3: Danshoku Dieno Vs Hideki Okatani ended in a No Contest (5:19).
3. Yukio Sakaguchi, Akito & Yusuke Okada defeated Soma Takao, Yuji Hino & Nobuhiro Shimatani when Sakaguchi pinned Shimatani with the God’s Right Knee (8:17).
4. Rock & Roll 5 Way Death Match: A.YAZAWA defeated HARASHIMA, Saki Akai, Mad Paulie and Kazuki Hirata when YAZAWA pinned Hirata with a School Boy (14:17).
5. Shunma Katsumata & MAO defeated Chris Brookes & Keigo Nakamura when MAO pinned Nakamura after the MADMAX (14:45).
6. The Annual Tradition! Customer Lottery Match: Jun Akiyama, Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo defeated Yuki Ueno, Kazusada Higuchi & Naomi Yoshimura when Endo pinned Yoshimura with the Shooting Star Press (21:26).
Beer Garden 2021 came to a close with the usual end to DDT’s tradition, a Fan Lottery 6-Man Tag Match. Members of the audience randomly picked the spots for each team and we ended up with Jun Akiyama, Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo all on the same side. Any visual sign of tension disappeared when Endo came out dressed in his old wrestling gear and encouraged the others to reform Happy Motels for one night. Akiyama had to play the role of Antonio Honda in this case. The opposing team was Yuki Ueno, Kazusada Higuchi & Naomi Yoshimura. All of them came from the DNA generation so they paid tribute to the old brand by wearing DNA shirts and walking out to the DNA theme song. Akiyama played the part of Honda well by tripping onto his knee and doing the Bionic Elbow with his partners. The three of them worked so well they won the match with Endo getting the pin on Yoshimura.
After the match Endo said Beer Garden is all about having fun so he encouraged Akiyama and Takeshita to let go of their rivalry for the day. He also apologised to Takeshita for cheap shotting him at last year’s Beer Garden finale. Takeshita and Akiyama both agreed to get along but things will go back to normal when they fight each other for the KO-D Tag Team Titles on 15th August and the KO-D Openweight Title on the 21st. Endo also promoted his DAMNATION team defending the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles on that day too. They all raised their hands together to end the show… and then Endo Headbutted Takeshita. Endo stormed off backstage and stripped out of his old costume embarrassed that he had to act so nice towards Akiyama & Takeshita today.
Chris Brookes didn’t want to team with Keigo Nakamura so he purposely joined the other team to make it a 3 Vs 1 Handicap match. Brookes entered the ring with The 37KAMIINA but Nakamura begged him to team up as planned. Brookes agreed to do it but still helped Shunma Katsumata & MAO do some triple team spots. Brookes eventually took the match seriously but it wasn’t enough for them to win. Katsumata & MAO hit the Power Bomb/Blockbuster version of MADMAX (apparently any double team move involving Katsumata jumping off the top rope is called the MADMAX) on Nakamura to get the win. Afterwards Katsumata told MAO he found out Jun Kasai’s weakness. He doesn’t like stepping on Lego so they’re going to use them against him at “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2021”!
Daisuke Sasaki was pulled from the show on short notice because he might have been in close contact with somebody who recently tested positive for the Coronavirus. The Drunk Match was cancelled and HARASHIMA was moved over to the Rock & Roll Death Match. There was another replacement as Antonio Honda suffered from love sickness and had to be replaced by A.YAZAWA in a rare appearance. Everyone in the match got drunk and danced whenever music played. YAZAWA and Saki Akai did karaoke. A recording of Shuji Ishikawa singing caused Mad Paulie to dance. Everyone fell asleep until Swan Lake played and they all did ballet together. YAZAWA then rolled over Kazuki Hirata to win the match.
Eruption once again got the better of DAMNATION once again in their latest preview match, this time with Yusuke Okada teaming with them. Yuji Hino was already drinking and decided to wrestle in his normal clothing. When he put Akito in a Sleeper Hold he flipped off the rest of his opponents. Eventually he got drunk and when he went to do the Diving Body Press off the top rope, he landed on Nobuhiro Shimatani instead of Yukio Sakaguchi. Hino needed Soma Takao’s help to get out of the ring and while that happened, Sakaguchi pinned Shimatani with the God’s Right Knee.
An accidental bump of heads between Danshoku Dieno and Hideki Okatani during the opening of the show led to them swapping bodies before their match. Dieno walked out wearing Okatani’s gear while Okatani ran out in Dieno’s costume acting just like him. Another clash of heads seemed to turn them back to normal. Dieno was himself again and he chased after Daisuke Kiso. However Okatani didn’t change and he got his hands on Yukinori Matsui. That officials had to call of the match as things got out of hand.
Sanshiro Takagi paid a lot of cash to repair the Dramatic Dream so he is going to get his money’s worth! He brought it out for the opening match, crashed into the combined centaur form of Yukio Naya & Yuki Iino and then crashed into his own partner Yuya Koroku. Iino then hit a Lariat on Koroku to take the win for his team.
The most important match of the week, nay, the month took place in the pre-show. It was the DDT GM Hisaya Imabayashi against the Tokyo Joshi Pro GM Tetsuya Koda in the latest chapter of their never ending one sided rivalry. Imabayashi was spurned on by phonecalls of his increasingly disgruntled wife while Koda showed a more evil side to his wrestling abilities. Sadly for Imabayashi he fell to the Sleeper Hold and as a result won’t be welcomed back home by his family.
Midway through the show, Dieno & Iino confronted Imabayashi demanding to be made into a full time tag team. They kept coming up with sexual innuendos for team names like Osu Academy, The Wizard Of Osu and Will Osupreay. Imabayashi told them he will agree to their demand once they come up with a better tag team name.
Earlier today on the Ganbare☆Pro show, Yuna Manase made it known that she wants a match against Saki Akai. She crashed the DDT show along with Ken Ohka to challenge Akai directly. It is a match she wanted to have at “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2021” and when that never happened it’s been bothering her ever since. Akai accepted the challenge and wants the match to happen in Fukuoka on 12th September. Manase said Ganpro already has a show in Itabashi that day but Ohka encouraged her to go do it. Manase offered to shake hands but Akai left her hanging.
Voice actor Tetsu Inada will be making appearances at the Hiragana Muscle shows in September.
