7. Road To PETER PAN 2026! Special Tag Match: Yuki Ueno & Shunma Katsumata defeated MAO & KANON (w/ KIMIHIRO & YUZUKI) when Ueno submitted MAO with a Sleeper Hold (19:22).
It’s a little over two weeks until DDT graces Sumo Hall once again, this time for “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2026”. But before that could take place there were some things to settle in Korakuen Hall first. The Ryogoku main event got a preview today with Yuki Ueno and MAO on opposite sides of a tag match between The 37KAMIINA and Strange Love Connection. MAO & KANON tried to overwhelm Ueno with their square shaped powers but Shunma Katsumata was there to take KANON out of the picture with a Topé con Hilo. MAO went to seal the deal by giving Ueno the Michinoku Driver II but missed the Cannonball 450°. Ueno switched his gameplan to getting MAO into a Sleeper Hold whether it was catching him Blackout style or keeping a grip on him with a Body Scissors. Ueno’s relentless hold of the move kept MAO from escaping and he eventually had to tap out to the KO-D Openweight Champion.
When the match was over Ueno took the microphone and said MAO still has a long way to go. He remembers when MAO left The 37KAMIINA and fought him for the KO-D Title at Sumo Hall two years ago. Back then he thought MAO was shining so brightly he would soar to the global stage and blow the whole world away. In the two years since then, Ueno has wondered if MAO could ever become the champion who can lead DDT to the Tokyo Dome. The upcoming title match should be the most important and exciting thing that has ever happened to MAO so Ueno wants him to show the most dazzling brilliance he’s ever had on 11th August. Backstage Ueno said that MAO needs to be more fiery because he hasn’t been as passionate as he was back when he was in The 37KAMIINA. However, MAO said backstage that since he left the unit he’s cut down on drinking, given up eating ramen and has become more disciplined. He is still edgy but now he has matured a bit. Everything he’s been doing is so he can beat Ueno for the KO-D Title!
Well, Yuki Ishida has been saying for weeks how much he wants to change and he got what he wanted in the end. He wagered his hair to get a shot at the DDT Extreme Title held by Hideki Okatani and… er… he doesn’t have his hair anymore. With his best effort Ishida blocked the Claymore kick, Power Bombed Okatani and fought his way into finally hitting him with the Ensho but at the last second Okatani got his foot on the ropes to break the pin. Okatani then booted Ishida in the head over and over until he kept him down with the Claymore to win the match and claim Ishida’s hair. Okatani said after the match there is no way Ishida could beat him but he acknowledges his spirit. Ishida took it upon himself to cut his own hair and when he was finished, Okatani told him to not to forget this feeling. He also reminded Ishida the reason why he joined Harimao was because someone (Kazusada Higuchi) saw his potential so he should not give up here. When Ishida left, Hisaya Imabayashi asked Okatani who he wants to defend the Extreme Title against at Sumo Hall? There is only one man and that’s Shunma Katsumata! The two have previously fought each other for the title twice with Katsumata winning both times. Katsumata didn’t want to waste words and accepted the challenge with little else to say.
The tag team championship rivalry between FANTÔMES DRAMATIC and paleyouth that has gone on for the last month has ended in a stalemate. Fandora weren’t able to beat paleyouth for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles two weeks ago and paleyouth weren’t able to take the KO-D Tag Team Titles away from Fandora today. Yuya Koroku came prepared for HARASHIMA after the warm up matches they had leading up to today. He rolled backwards to avoid the Somato and trap HARASHIMA into an Armbar. He then got Takeshi Masada in so they could give HARASHIMA their double team finisher and although Chris Brookes was kept away from breaking the pin, HARASHIMA still kicked out of it. Koroku thought he had the match won when he landed a Moonsault Press but HARASHIMA suddenly turned the pin into an Armbar submission of his own, surprising Koroku and making him tap out to grab victory from the jaws of defeat. After the match Shinya Aoki & Junta Miyawaki both approached the champions to ask them for a title match at Sumo Hall. HARASHIMA said he would take a challenge from anyone at anytime so they will get it.
The masked dancer Kumadori was getting some attention online in the last week with highlights of his DDT matches gaining traction on social media. He didn’t waste time showing his agility in the ring alongside Kazuma Sumi but the pace changed once Daichi Sato and Kazuki Hirata tagged in. To-y attempted some high flying of his own with the T.O.Y. Diving Cross Body but nobody was there to catch him. Hirata wanted to try the same move (he calls it H.R.T) but his legs buckled from the pressure of standing on the top rope. To-y at least got some momentum back by pulling Soma Takao’s t-shirt over his face and Machine Gun Chopping his bare chest in the corner. Even though Takao was blinded by the shirt, To-y still missed another T.O.Y. dive when Takao walked out of harm’s way. Hirata rallied his team to literally run circles around Kumadori but when it was time to put on the Hirata GO! Glasses, Kumadori kicked him away and put on his own pair! The two fought past everyone else to dance with each other until Hirata got Kumadori with a cheap shot. Kumadori stopped Hirata in his tracks to make him dance more but it was only so he could roll up Hirata in a School Boy and pin him for the victory.
Ilusion recently introduced his own version of the Right To Challenge Gauntlet to use on existing Gauntlet holders but ended up losing it to Rukiya. So now Ilusion was on the hunt to win one of the regular Gauntlets currently held by Viento Levante. Speaking of Levante, his focus is on winning the KO-D 6-Man Tag Titles with SLC at Sumo Hall. Having a Gauntlet for a KO-D Title shot is just a bonus for him at the moment. Ilusion & Daisuke Sasaki attacked Levante & Yukio Naya before the bell. They also had MJ Paul at ringside interfering for DAMNATION T.A unlike KIMIHIRO & YUZUKI who were both there for SLC. However Levante dodged a chair attack from Suzuki and Naya stopped DAMNATION T.A from further using the weapon. Naya then Choke Slammed Ilusion into position for Levante to do the Diving Headbutt and win the match. Backstage Levante promised he will not cash in his Gauntlet until after “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2026”. He is tempted to steal the glory from MAO that night but is thinking about cashing in somewhere else afterwards.
The (one-sided) rivalry between Sanshiro Takagi and Minoru Suzuki was brought back to the forefront but there is now going to be a twist in the tale. Before the match began, a camera backstage filmed Takagi complaining to the GM Imabayashi about not having a match booked for Sumo Hall yet. Imabayashi told him if he could win his match he would consider putting him on the card. Takagi had Danshoku Dieno as his tag partner to fight Suzuki & Jun Akiyama but that was not enough of an X factor to get him his desired result. Dieno almost lured Akiyama into the Danshoku Driver but he ended up getting the Exploder Suplex instead. Akiyama then held Dino in a Front Neck Lock and Dieno gave up when Takagi accidentally shoved is own face into Dieno’s backside while trying to escape a Manjigatame that Suzuki put him in. After the match Imabayashi told Takagi he won’t be wrestling at Sumo Hall but Suzuki says otherwise. Suzuki was actually impressed at how Takagi defended himself from the Manjigatame so he wants the two of them to team up at Sumo Hall! Imabayashi couldn’t refuse Suzuki’s idea and went to work with putting a match together. It was later revealed that Suzuki & Takagi will face Kazuki Hirata & To-y on the show.
Before the team up of Shinya Aoki and Junta Miyawaki happened, the two faced off against each other in a singles match first. The two went back and forth with holds and counters. At one point Aoki used the ropes to his advantage to tangle up Miyawaki but Miyawaki got some moments of control whether it was using an Osui Suplex Hold for a nearfall or a Cattle Mutilation to stretch out Aoki. He also hit the Sunshine Driver but Aoki kicked out of the pin. Miyawaki then went for the Sunshine Clutch but Aoki found a way to reverse it and get the three count out of nowhere. It was backstage after the match when Miyawaki caught up with Aoki telling him he wants to wrestle with him more. Aoki suggested the two of them chase after the KO-D Tag Titles which led to them making the challenge to Fandora later in the show.
The pre-show and the introduction had some major implications for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. During the dark match both Yuni and Rukiya felt like marked men with Yuni holding the Iron Man Title and Rukiya holding the RTC Gauntlet that can be cashed in on other Gauntlet holders. Hinata Kasai wanted to pin Yuni quickly to win the title but Naomi Yoshimura was there to throw both him around. Antonio Honda struggled to contain Yuni at points but had the wherewithal to block a Jacknife Pin and press himself down to get the three count and win the Iron Man Title. Both Masami Inahata and Rukiya tried to pin Honda after the match but Honda escaped the ring.
Honda would then reappear at ringside during the show opening announcements. Three members of The Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) were in the ring with Imabayashi at the time to promote Tokyo Joshi Pro’s upcoming appearances at the Tokyo Idol Festival. Honda tripped over the ropes on his way into the ring so he decided to tell The Up Up Girls his latest Gongitsune joke. Obviously his sense of humour isn’t appropriate for the idols so Miu Watanabe and Uta Takami both covered their ears. That made them defenceless so Honda got the both of them with Gongitsune eye pokes. Raku however countered him with a lullaby that sent both Honda and Imabayashu to sleep. She then quietly pinned Honda to become the latest Iron Man Champion! Remember that whoever enters the Iron Man Title Battle Royal at Sumo Hall as the defending champion will receive a bullet train travel pass for one year as their prize!

He’s gone through some recent changes with his MMA contracts and now has a big RIZIN fight coming up in early September. He may disappear from DDT altogether to focus on training for the fight or DDT may set up something to help promote him down the line.

-. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Kazuma Sumi defeated Yuya Koroku (c) with a Side Cradle Pin (2:39 pm). *Kazuma Sumi becomes the 1,842nd champion.
6. Special 8-Man Tag Match: Yuki Ueno, Shinya Aoki, Shunma Katsumata & To-y defeated MAO, KANON, Yukio Naya & Viento Levante (w/ KIMIHIRO) when Aoki pinned Levante with the Modified European Clutch (19:49).
There was an exchange of words between Yuki Ueno and MAO after the main event but it ended with them fist bumping each other so no bad blood is brewing yet. There was also an announcement that DDT will return to Shizuoka Granship Exchange Hall on 17th January next year. After Shinya Aoki heard that he said he will be waiting there for Ueno to come out of Sumo Hall still as the KO-D Openweight Champion. He will welcome everyone from DDT back to his hometown of Shizuoka, except for Viento Levante. Aoki then revealed he will be at the Sumo Hall show too.
Things are now brewing up between Chris Brookes and Yuya Koroku as something is heating up between them in the current FANTÔMES DRAMATIC Vs paleyouth program. Brookes was tactically aggressive against Koroku only to stay out of harm’s way whenever Koroku looked to make a comeback. Instead Koroku scored the pinfall on Hinata Kasai thanks to his new double team finishing move that is done alongside Takeshi Masada. Koroku was still fired up after the match and called for Brookes’s attention afterwards. He said he doesn’t care about HARASHIMA and Brookes shouldn’t be acting like he’s too cool for paleyouth. Koroku’s team are serious about taking the KO-D Tag Team Titles away from Fandora while also keeping the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles away from them.
paleyouth also got involved with the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title while all of the above was going on. Daichi Sato tried to sneak pin Kazuma Sumi after the match. Sumi kicked out but was then pinned for a three count by Koroku. Sumi won the belt back when he shoved Koroku into Shoda and then rolled him up to pin him and run off as the champion again.
I’m just not quite sure what it is Yuki Ishida is trying to change about himself at the moment. He brought the fight to Hideki Okatani in their tag match but Daisuke Sasaki halted his progress with a chairshot to the back. Later Okatani would dodge Ishida’s Ensho and then pin him with the Skewer-Style Claymore so right now the DDT Extreme Champion has all of the momentum going into his next title defence.

The card is starting to fill up. Yuki Ueno and MAO will be in the KO-D Title match in Sumo Hall again for the second time in the hopes of carrying DDT on the ultimate path towards the Tokyo Dome. There are also some inter-promotional bouts to look forward to with Kazuma Sumi defending the DDT Universal Title against Ryusuke Taguchi in a continuation of the DDT Vs New Japan rivalry. There is still some friendliness between the two companies because Daisuke Sasaki has picked DOUKI to be his tag partner for the mystery match against Antonio Honda and whoever he is going to pick (the popular guess online so far seems to be YOH). Dragon Gate is also taking part in the fun by sending YAMATO over for a match. Unfortunately for him he’s getting Danshoku Dieno as his opponent.

7. KO-D Openweight Title: Yuki Ueno (c) defeated Shinya Aoki with the Sleeper Hold (21:48). *V8 for Yuki Ueno.
There was no repeat from what happened back in 2024. This time Yuki Ueno was able to put Shinya Aoki away and remain the KO-D Openweight Champion. It was a complete swap of results from two years ago as this time Ueno was able to make Aoki submit instead of the other way around. He had to go that direction because Aoki avoided the WR and used the Aoki Clutch to try and win. Ueno kicked out of the move and got to use his finisher except Aoki still had enough movement left in him to avoid getting pinned. Ueno had to instead stick Aoki in a grounded Sleeper Hold and make him tap out to finally win. After the match Ueno thanked Aoki for becoming part of the DDT family and said how much he respects him from the bottom of his heart.
There is still some time to go until “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2026” takes place in Sumo Hall on 11th August. It’s enough time for a surprise title defence or two to happen before then but Ueno was given the nod by Hisaya Imabayashi to choose his Ryogoku challenger. Ueno brought up his goal to bring DDT to the Tokyo Dome and in order to do that he feels he must come up with a match that can sell out Sumo Hall first. The opponent he wants to fight in front of a packed Sumo Hall is MAO! This will also be a title rematch from 2024 in the same building. MAO calls himself a realist because he wonders if he can really make it to the Tokyo Dome. He thinks he can because he has become stronger that he was two years ago and is carrying none of the burdans from back then. He accepts the challenge to determine who will win between DDT’s Prince and DDT’s square shaped devil!
The 8-Man Tag between FANTÔMES DRAMATIC and DAMNATION T.A was a little preview for the mystery tag match at Sumo Hall that Daisuke Sasaki and Antonio Honda are both involved with. It was also an opportunity for Hinata Kasai to earn his first win. His partners helped out by weakening Sasaki using Chris Brookes’s Penalty Kick, HARASHIMA’s Swan Dive Body Press and Honda’s Fist Drop. Kasai then applied the STF for the finish but Sasaki got out of it by biting Kasai’s hand. After that MJ Paul hit Kasai with a chairshot from ringside and Hideki Okatani followed it up with the Claymore Kick. Ilusion wiped out the other Fandora wrestlers with a Trust Fall dive out of the ring while Sasaki made Kasai give up to the Crossface Lock.
Sasaki then had an announcement to make after the match. Both he and Honda need to find their own tag partners for their Sumo Hall match. Sasaki revealed he has found a suitable partner and played a video of him recruiting DOUKI from New Japan! The addition of the House Of Torture wrestler had Honda beginning to worry about the match. He told Sasaki when it will be time for him to reveal his tag partner, Sasaki’s going to act like it is an unfair choice too. Backstage Sasaki said he’s known DOUKI going back to before he was even DOUKI. Sasaki also recently just came back from Thailand where he claimed to have learned Muay Thai during his stay so he thinks he will take Honda down in seconds.
No referee? No problem! It was up to the audience to count the pinfall during the grudge match between MAO and Sanshiro Takagi. Not even the most stringent wrestling official could get in the way of MAO and Takagi’s crazy ideas for the match. Takagi made his entrance through the Korakuen Hall seating only to get run over by MAO riding the Dramatic Dream bike. He then crashed a scooter into Takagi along with a cart with KIMIHIRO sitting on it at ringside. Takagi fought back by bringing a toilet into the ring so he could DDT MAO into it. The fans were aided with on-screen instructions to count either fast or slow much to the wrestlers’ chagrin. The fan count would only register when it was determined the majority of them reached to three. MAO then played mind games by showing video footage of him running over Takagi in different vehicles over the past six years. The trauma effected Takagi so much that when MAO pulled out a small remote control van it caused Takagi more mental damage. Takagi was able to fight back using Stunners but the crowd only made it to a collective 2.9 before MAO kicked out. MAO got his own nearfall using the Michinoku Driver II so he placed a plastic box on top of his opponent and hit the Cannonball 450° through it for the three count. He then added insult to injury by driving the toy van into Takagi’s beaten body. With this win, MAO now considers himself to be Takagi’s successor so he encourages everyone else to DDT to become as crazy as he is and carry the weight of DDT with pride!
Kazuma Sumi came back from his eye injury with something in particular being stuck in his mind. But first he had a 6-Man Tag Match against paleyouth to get through. He got to show he didn’t lose a step in his brief absence by going toe to toe with Takeshi Masada. His partners Yuni & Kumadori pulled off some big dives late in the match. But when it came down to Yuni, he became overwhelmed by Yuya Koroku and then Daichi Sato who put him away with a Rolling Elbow.
After the match Sumi talked about how frustrating it was he had to miss the recent DDT Vs New Japan show due to his injury. He was annoyed in particular by seeing the NJPW young lion Tatsuya Matsumoto beat Hinata Kasai. Sumi can’t stand seeing DDT lose to NJPW like this so he made a demand to defend his DDT Universal Title against a wrestler from New Japan. Suddenly the lights in the room went out and when they switched back on, Ryusuke Taguchi was standing right behind Sumi! Akito was there too in his CyberFight Director form to announce he just so happened to have already booked Taguchi for Sumo Hall so Sumi can give him a title shot on that show. Sumi said it is a dream for him to reach the top of the Junior Heavyweight scene and asked Taguchi if he could be his stepping stone? Taguchi responded that Kota Ibushi and Kenny Omega have used him as such to help them spread their wings to the world so he will do his best to do the same for Sumi. However after they shook hands, Taguchi suddenly hit Sumi with the Hip Attack and warned him to be careful otherwise he will be used as a stepping stone by somebody else!
By wrestling back and forth between DDT and NOAH recently, Yuki Iino is developing a balancing act between his DDT form and his Jonetsu MAX form. The Iino that wrestled today isn’t quite the same persona as the one that just won the GHC Tag Team Titles. Still, he and KANON worked as a well oiled duo in order to beat Shunma Katsumata & To-y. Iino even pulled off his cap at the end to show everyone his Jonetsu double mohawk before pinning To-y with a Lariat.
With Strange Love Connection getting the victory, KIMIHRIO did a rap for Iino to reintroduce him to the fans. Iino didn’t quite get what he was doing while Katsumata also felt provoked by it. He felt so provoked that he suddenly started a rap battle against KIMIHIRO in the ring! Katsumata quickly realised the mistake he made and said he gave up. But as Katsumata left the ring, Yukinori Matsui took the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title from him and handed it over to KIMIHIRO because KIMIHIRO just technically beat the champion by submission! Katsumata tried to take the belt back but the rest of SLC were there to stop him and make sure KIMIHIRO would leave the show as the new champ.
Rules had to be changed for Match #2 thanks to Kazuki Hirata. He ended up fighting the other team all on his own and quickly lost the match before Minoru Suzuki or Danshoku Dieno could even make their entrance. Imabayashi decided to restart the match with the added rule that Hirata could only lose the match if he gets beaten three times. Jun Akiyama immediately pinned Hirata before Dieno made it to the ring. Masami Inahata then made Hirata tap out before Suzuki’s music even hit. Inahata almost did it again but Suzuki got there in time to physically stop Hirata from tapping out. The match went on as normal from there. Except the normality went away when Rukiya rubbed his hands against Dieno’s bare backside and then grabbed Hirata in a Camel Clutch to make him give up and lose the match for good.
Today was Soma Takao’s first match since January. He’s been on the shelf since then dealing with an old knee injury and used his comeback to show off a new ring costume to go along with his trusty Dropkick Bar shirt. Yuki Ishida also had something new to show with a slightly changed hairstyle but nobody really noticed his attempt at changing himself into something new. He still played his part at keeping Naomi Yoshimura away so Yukio Naya could play spoiler and end Takao’s comeback match with a loss. Takao said he was happy to be in the ring with other members of the Dropkick Bar and also wrestle in front of the newer DDT fans who may never seen any of his matches before.
DDT welcomed back Miles Karu for another appearance during his excursion to Japan. He brought along his MYPW Southeast Asia Title to the ring for his pre-show match teaming with Akito. Does this mean Junta Miyawaki can now lay claim for a title shot because he & Viento Levante won the match when Miyawaki pinned Karu with the Sunshine Driver.
Another special guest from another wrestling promotion will appear at “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2026” this August. YAMATO from Dragon Gate attended the show so he could step into the DDT ring for the first time (not counting the “DRAMATIC DREAM GATE” joint show from 2012). He was relieved to find out the DDT fans know who he is and he wants to be given a suitable opponent comparable to his stature as a wrestler who built an era in his own company. Guess what? His opponent is going to be Danshoku Dieno. YAMATO argued the match is happening ten years too late because nobody wants to see two old men like them getting it on. The DDT fans disagree and started chanting for the match to happen. YAMATO reluctantly accepted the challenge but warned Dieno his Danshoku tactics won’t work on him.
Even though the KO-D Title match is now set for Sumo Hall, it may not be Ueno going into it as champion. The Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Gauntlets are back for another year! There will be only two Gauntlets this time and possessing one will give the holder a KO-D Title shot whenever they want from the period between 15th July to 27th September. The matches to determine the holders will take place at the Beer Garden shows taking place on 15th and 16th July.

What’s a big attraction like Kaisei Takechi doing at the Beer Garden? Would THE RAMPAGE allow him to have a few drinks if he wishes to have some?
Come see the Invisible Man Rumble… except you can’t… because most of the entries are invisible… We’re starting to enter the territory where this could be mistaken for a Mystery Wrestling show instead of a DDT show.
Kumadori will be on the first day of Beer Garden but he hasn’t been announced for the second day yet.

Takechi gets to experience the annual ghost story from Hisaya Imabayashi too! Junta Miyawaki also gets to experience more DDT-ness by taking part in his first Blindfold match. Maybe this time everyone else will want to drink along with him.
I have a suspicion that Mikiya Sasaki is going to impersonate Daisuke Sasaki instead of doing his usual Dory Funk Jr. tribute. Or how about Daisuke shows up thinking he’s Terry Funk?

5. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Shinya Aoki, Junta Miyawaki & Yuki Ishida defeated Yuki Ueno, Naomi Yoshimura & Rukiya when Aoki pinned Rukiya with a Cradle (13:56).
6. FANTÔMES DRAMATIC Vs The 37KAMIINA!: Chris Brookes & HARASHIMA defeated Shunma Katsumata & To-y when HARASHIMA pinned Katsumata with the Somato (13:52).
This upcoming week is a special one for Chris Brookes because it will be the 7th anniversary of his DDT debut. In today’s main event his Piledriver to Shunma Katsumata is what set HARASHIMA up to win the match using the Somato. He then spat at To-y after the match causing a fight to break out between them until they were pulled apart. When things calmed down, Brookes talked about his amazing seven years with DDT and promised to stay for another seven or ten or twenty years or even forever! To-y went to the commentary booth acting as To-y from the future. His past self is furious over being spit on but he calmed his past self down and said he will win the KO-D Tag Team Titles. He then left and his “past” self returned to say he is now motivated to win the titles.
Shinya Aoki claims he was one step ahead of Yuki Ueno today. However since Ueno won the previous prelim match, Ueno thinks they are currently tied. The two shook hands and promised to show the fans something amazing for their KO-D Openweight Title match.
The latest adventures of the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title are taking a dark turn. When Yuya Koroku won the title the other members of paleyouth acted as bodyguards for him. However today Takeshi Masada betrayed him by jamming his fingers into Koroku’s mouth to distract him for a roll up. Koroku chased Masada around the arena and they made it back to the ring where Koroku got his revenge. He did the same thing Masada did to him so he could become the champion again. But as Koroku walked away from the ring, Kazuki Hirata suddenly appeared in his brooding “Hammer Hirata” persona where he looks a lot like HAYATA from NOAH. Hirata knocked out Koroku with his hammer and pinned him to be champion once more. With his trusty hammer in his grip, Hirata is warning everyone to stay out of his way so he can go to Sumo Hall as the Iron Man Champion and win the bullet train pass!
The contract has been signed for the DDT Extreme Title match between Hideki Okatani and Junta Miyawaki. Okatani decided it is going to be a Hardcore I Quit Match. The match can only end when one wrestler surrenders or if they get so severely injured that they cannot speak then the referee can declare a TKO. Okatani knows this will be Miyawaki’s first time doing a Hardcore match so he hopes he will enjoy it to the fullest but he also chose the rule because he wants to see Miyawaki surrender. Miyawaki is open to the idea and understands he has the disadvantage because his wrestling style is built around pinning opponents, not submitting them. However he claims to have learned submission holds in Mexico and can show everyone a different side of him during this match.
1. Sanshiro Takagi & Yuni defeated HARASHIMA & Hinata Kasai when Yuni pinned Kasai with the Jorge Clutch (9:09).
2. Junta Miyawaki Three Match Trial – Final Match: Danshoku Dieno defeated Junta Miyawaki by Referee Stoppage with the Lip Lock (10:08).
-. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Shunma Katsumata defeated Kazuki Hirata (c) with a School Boy (7:38 pm). *Shunma Katsumata becomes the 1,821st champion.
-. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Kazuki Hirata defeated Shunma Katsumata (c) with the Miracle One Shot Cradle (7:48 pm). *Kazuki Hirata becomes the 1,822nd champion.
3. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Takeshi Masada, Yuya Koroku & Daichi Sato defeated Shunma Katsumata, Kazuki Hirata (c) & Kumadori when Koroku submitted Hirata with an Arm Lock (10:49). *Yuya Koroku becomes the 1,823rd champion.
4. 3 Way Tag Match: Yuki Ishida & Rukiya defeated Chris Brookes & Antonio Honda and Naomi Yoshimura & Tomomitsu Matsunaga when Ishida pinned Matsunaga with an Izorikatame (8:45).
5. Special Tag Match: Yuki Ueno & To-y defeated Shinya Aoki & Akito wen Ueno pinned Akito with the WR (15:11).
6. KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles: Daisuke Sasaki, Hideki Okatani, MJ Paul, Ilusion & Haruto Sakuraba defeated MAO, KANON, Yuki Iino, Yukio Naya & Viento Levante when Sakuraba pinned Levante with the Jackhammer (20:22). *V1 for DAMNATION T.A.
It’s been about six months since the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles were last defended. DAMNATION T.A have been missing Demus during that time period but the rules of the championship allow up to two substitutes to allow the title match to still go ahead. The challengers Strange Love Connection welcomed back Yuki Iino, who wrestled wearing a bandana to hide his haircut and showed none of the “PASSION~!” that he’s been developing over in NOAH lately. DAMNATION T.A brought out the big guns for this match, having Haruto Sakuraba come in to take Demus’s place. MAO & Yukio Naya almost had Ilusion beat with their Charge Love Heart double team move but MJ Paul pulled the referee away during the pinfall. Daisuke Sasaki then ran in to hit people with a chair. The newly renamed Viento Levante landed a rope walk Diving Headbutt onto Sakuraba but the pin was stopped with a Brain Claw by “The Monster”. Sakuraba then hit Levante with Lariats before beating him with the Jackhammer.
After the match Sakuraba said he’s been in slumber for almost a year and yet here he is holding a championship belt without lifting a finger (I’m unsure if the rules have been changed to now recognize him as one of the champions). He told the fans to tremble in fear until the next time he wakes up! Backstage Sakuraba said SLC are all defective while DAMNATION T.A is a perfect unit with a charismatic leader. Ilusion then asked when will be the next title defence? It might be in another six months time or at the end of the year again. Who knows?
Yuki Ueno and Shinya Aoki got to sign the contract for their KO-D Openweight Title match before the show began. Ueno always respected Aoki but has grown to love him because Aoki loves pro wrestling and DDT so much. It makes Ueno think the way to beat Aoki is to conquer him with love. Aoki can see Ueno is carrying more weight on his shoulders now compared to their first title match in 2024. He understands the scale of what Ueno is trying to accomplish as champion this time around. After their tag match on today’s show, Ueno told Aoki that wrestling him is so much fun. He’ll be sad when he beats him and the buildup over the title match is over. Aoki said he is going to give Ueno a good beating.
Now that the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title is back in DDT, it has brought the hot potato title switches back to DDT shows. Kazuki Hirata lost the title to his own partner Shunma Katsumata before the match even began. Kumadori got the two of them to stop arguing in the middle of the match and dance with him instead. During the dance Hirata grabbed Katsumata and pinned him with the Miracle One Shot Cradle to win the belt back. Yuya Koroku then pulled Hirata into an Arm Lock and made him tap out so he now has the title. Hirata is not panicking over what happened because there is plenty of time to win it back before the Sumo Hall show later this summer. He might turn into “Hammer Hirata” again to get the belt back.
Junta Miyawaki’s DDT trial ended in defeat thanks to Danshoku Dieno using the Lip Lock with a Wrist Lock applied rendering Miyawaki unconscious. Dieno gave him another Lip Lock after the match to resuscitate him. He does not know why Miyawaki has come to DDT when he could have just stayed in NOAH and be a proper, respectable pro wrestler. Dieno has been in the business for 25 years and he has learned one thing more than anything else. When you put what you find is fun in life into your wrestling and the fans enjoy it then that is DDT. He then tried to give Miyawaki another Lip Lock but Miyawaki escaped and ran off.
Backstage, Miyawaki talked about his experiences in the trial series. He hates negative people but Antonio Honda, Kazuki Hirata and Danshoku Dieno are all the opposite of those kinds of people. He wants to wrestle them more so he can absorb their warm-hearted feelings. That was shown during the match with Dieno where Miyawaki used some of Honda’s and Hirata’s moves. He also admits he does not know how long he will be sticking around in DDT which is why he is cherishing every match he has here.
During the week DDT announced that Hinata Kasai is going to team up with his dad Jun Kasai for the first time ever at “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2026” on 11th August to celebrate the 1st Anniversary of Hinata’s debut. Although he lost again today, this past week has felt like Christmas and New Year’s all happening at once for him because it’s been so hectic. He thinks he is nowhere near being able to stand with his father in the ring yet. The first thing he needs to do in order to begin closing the gap is to get his first win before that match takes place.
DDT “DDT MY LOVE 2026”, 03/06/2026 Shinjuku FACE ??? Fans – Unannounced

1a. Standard Rules: Sanshiro Takagi (1) pinned Shunma Katsumata (0) with a Cradle (6:30).

2. 3 Way 6-Man Tag Match: Hideki Okatani, MJ Paul & Ilusion defeated Takeshi Masada, Yuya Koroku & Munetatsu Nakamura and Danshoku Dieno, Naomi Yoshimura & KANON when Ilusion pinned Koroku with a School Boy (9:02).
3. Junta Miyawaki Three Match Trial – Match 2: Junta Miyawaki defeated Kazuki Hirata with a School Boy (10:56).
4. MAO & Yukio Naya (w/ KIMIHIRO) defeated Jun Akiyama & Tomomitsu Matsunaga when MAO pinned Matsunaga after the Charge Love Heart (9:43).
5. Special Single Match: Shinya Aoki defeated Viento Maligno with a Modified Butterfly Lock (11:25).
6. Special 8-Man Tag Match: Chris Brookes, HARASHIMA, Antonio Honda & Hinata Kasai defeated Daichi Sato, To-y, Yuni & Yuki Ishida when Honda pinned Yuni with a Samson Clutch (19:36).
It turns out there was more background to the Shinya Aoki Vs Viento Maligno match than I first thought. Before the King Of DDT tournament began, Aoki allegedly made a prediction that Maligno would unmask and compete in Best Of The Super Jr. so both of them could have a match between tournament winners. Aoki lived up to his end of the idea which is why after he won King Of DDT he called out Maligno and told him everybody knows what he is doing. They had a match today where Maligno tried to counter the Aoki Clutch but Aoki switched over to a Modified Butterfly Lock to make the luchador give up. He then ripped the mask off Maligno’s face to reveal it was Keigo Nakamura the whole time! Nakamura admitted his real identity and explained that he couldn’t adapt to wrestling in Mexico during his excursion. Even now he does not know who he is and his confidence has disappeared after he saw how all of his juniors have surpassed him. However he still gets support from everybody in Strange Love Connection and he wants to become stronger by being with them. Aoki asked him what will he do from now on and who does he want to fight? Nakamura put the mask back on and will continue to wrestle as Viento Maligno because he’s hit rock bottom has nothing else to lose.
The opening match was officially Sanshiro Takagi’s return to action in DDT (as long as you ignore Super Japan). He feels so reenergised from his time off that he asked for the match to be Best 2 Out Of 3 Falls with no time limit applied. The 37KAMIINA agreed and quickly tried to injure him again. However he blocked Shunma Katsumata’s Totonou Splash and then Cradled him to win the first fall. He then declared the 2nd Fall would be Falls Count Anywhere. For the next two hours Takagi, Akito, Yuki Ueno and Katsumata brawled all over Shinjuku FACE and even outside on the street. Since the action was happening away from ringside, DDT decided to go on with the show and it wasn’t until the very end when the opening match returned to the ring and Takagi pinned Katsumata again to win the match in two straight falls.
Takagi said this comeback could not have been possible if it wasn’t for the other wrestlers in the match and he is feeling super pumped about winning. He’s been cheating on DDT a little bit with Super Japan but he thinks DDT is the best and he is super motivated to wrestle here again. There is one guy in particular he wants to wrestle again to reignite his passion even more. It is MAO, who he hasn’t fought against one on one since 2019 in New York! He challenged MAO to a singles match on 28th June. MAO agreed and blamed Takagi for making him the wrestler he is today. So all of the times he tried to run Takagi over with a car is really Takagi’s fault.
Junta Miyawaki’s trial through DDT’s roster is going well with two wins out of two matches so far. He fought and danced with Kazuki Hirata until Hirata was too spent to continue. Before he could be beaten, Hirata got on the microphone and reminisced about the times back when Miyawaki was a NOAH trainee when they would hang out and eat meals together. He couldn’t continue so he asked Miyawaki to complete the dance by himself but it was only so Hirata could roll him up for a nearfall. Miyawaki countered by putting the Hirata GO! glasses on Hirata’s face, forcing him to dance and be vulnerable to be pinned with a School Boy. Afterwards Miyawaki was informed by Hisaya Imabayashi that the third and final match of his trial will happen on 10th June. It will be against Danshoku Dieno! With that announcement, Dieno entered the ring carrying his pet dog Haku in a protective bag. Miyawaki asked if this is a mistake because Dieno is tougher than any other opponent he could imagine. He promised to give it his all becaue this is a once in a lifetime match for him.
A win in the 3 Way Trios match prompted DAMNATION T.A to challenge paleyouth for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles afterward. Ilusion said his unit is filled with belt collectors and if they take those titles from paleyouth they would then have 10 belts in their collection (DDT Extreme Title with Hideki Okatani, O-40 Title with Daisuke Sasaki and the group has the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles which currently makes seven). Ilusion said the challenging team will be himself, MJ Paul and Sasaki once he comes back from New Japan. The challenge was accepted and will take place on 21st June in Nagoya. Ilusion later made fun of paleyouth being full of old people because only Daichi Sato is younger than him. Takeshi Masada & Yuya Koroku didn’t appreciate being Ilusion calling them old geezers.
A contract signing for the KO-D Tag Team Titles match between FANTÔMES DRAMATIC and The 37KAMIINA took place at the start of the show. One of the challengers To-y unexpectedly announced he is from the future where he wins the title with Yuki Ueno and builds a castle as the Prince Of Nagoya. Chris Brookes lost his patience and kept rushing To-y to finish up his story so the show could continue. To-y ignored him and tried to get Ueno to play along that they are the champions from the future and it is they who are defending the belts instead of Brookes & HARASHIMA. Both Ueno and HARASHIMA tried to keep things on track but Brookes is clearly becoming fed up with To-y’s quirky personality.
