5. Special 3 Way Match: Colt Cabana defeated Konosuke Takeshita and MAO when Cabana pinned MAO with a Superman Dive (8:11).
6. Daisuke Sasaki First Local Triumph! Special Tag Match: Daisuke Sasaki & Tetsuya Endo defeated Jun Kasai & Antonio Honda when Sasaki submitted Honda with La Mistica Cross Facelock (12:37).
7. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Masakatsu Funaki & Yukio Sakaguchi (c) defeated HARASHIMA & Akito when Sakaguchi submitted Akito with the Modified Cobra Clutch (18:29).
*V1 for Masakatsu Funaki & Yukio Sakaguchi.

It was a mixed day for Smile Squash. They weren’t able to win the KO-D Tag Team Titles but they at least gained a new member. In the tag title match, Akito tapped out to Yukio Sakaguchi’s Modified Cobra Clutch. That was Sakaguchi’s revenge for losing to Akito by submission back in January. Sakaguchi asked who wanted to fight him and Masakatsu Funaki next. Out came Tetsuya Endo followed by Shuji Ishikawa! The DAMNATION team will get their title shot at Saitama Super Arena in March!

Daisuke Sasaki was celebrated his return home to Nerima with a tag team victory over Jun Kasai. Sasaki taunted Kasai during the match by stealing his goggles and copying his salute. Sasaki said Kasai was truly amazing, as expected from such a charismatic death match wrestler. He then stomped on Kasai and said he really isn’t such a big deal. Kasai is not as charismatic as he is. They’re going to have some fun in Saitama.

Colt Cabana’s first match in DDT was a success, pinning MAO in a 3 Way Match also featuring Konosuke Takeshita. However his victory speech was cut short when Danshoku Dino attacked him! Dino accused Cabana of being gay and he wants him to admit it in English! This was Cabana’s welcome to DDT and next Sunday at Korakuen Hall Dino will make sure Cabana will come out of the closet! When Dino left Cabana took the microphone. He said his crotch is bigger than Joey Ryan’s.

Yoshihiro Takayama is warming up to the idea of Danshoku Dino being his new No Fear tag partner. He hesitated to participate in Dino’s fighting style but eventually decided “No Fear!” After that he threw KUDO face first into Dino’s exposed rear end. Dino then put Guanchulo in position for the Axe Guillotine Driver but Takayama told him to hold still. Takayama then pulled Dino’s tights over Guanchulo’s head to turn the move into the Axe Guillotine Danshoku Driver! Takayama told Dino it was a good start for their new team.

Soma Takao is now a member of Smile Squash! He won a 6 Way Elimination Match where the winner would earn Takao’s membership. Before the match began, Sanshiro Takagi gave Takao one last offer. If Takao joins T2Hide they can kick out Kazuki Hirata and rename the unit T2T. Makoto Oishi thinks Takao has a future as a pop idol. Rekka tempted Takao with promises of becoming the ace of New Taiwan Pro Wrestling. Saki Akai said Takao can travel the world if he joins the Oscar Promotion agency. The only person who didn’t appeal for Takao to join his unit was Yasu Urano. That made things awkward because Takao wants to join Smile Squash and the match eventually came down to those two. Takao scored the win and earned the right to join Smile Squash under his own power. Urano wasn’t pleased by this. He thinks Takao joining Smile Squash is a dangerous idea. However Akito is ok with the idea and HARASHIMA welcomed Takao into the group with open arms. Urano then accepted Takao’s induction. If nothing else at least this means he now has a new friend.

The Kotatsu table made its presence felt in Match #2, somehow attacking Kazuki Hirata while Keisuke Ishii pinned Tomomitsu Matsunaga. Ishii talked to the table after the match. Ishii said he fights with pride as the AJPW Jr. Champion so he hopes Kotatsu is the same as the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion. He offered a handshake but then began to stomp the table! He then gave Kotatsu the Emerald Frosion and went for a pin but Antonio Honda stopped the count. Honda then tried to pin Kotatsu but Ishii stopped him. Ishii and Honda then knocked each other out with a Lariat and Bionic Elbow collision, leaving Kotatsu just standing there probably triumphant.

Nobuhiro Shimatani is coming close to tying Gota Ihashi’s record for the most King Of Dark Title defences. Shimatani is more concerned about being forced to miss the DNA relaunch in two weeks time. He has one more chance to get rid of the title on 19th February. If he can’t win that match then he will miss the DNA show. Shimatani tried to pin the Kotatsu table to win the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title but Amon Tsurumi kicked him away.

DDT is considering lifting its ban of fan recordings at its live shows. A trial run will take place at the Nerima show. Fans in attendance will be allowed to record video as long as they film just the matches (no entrances because of music rights). Fans can only use phones (no tablets or cameras) that are held below eye level and nobody is allowed to deliberately film other people in the audience. Depending on results and feedback DDT will experiment with these rules as time goes on.

Soma Takao now finds himself as the hottest free agent in DDT. Units all around are falling over themselves to sign him so a 6 Way Match will determine where he goes. Whoever wins will have their unit recruit Soma. If Soma himself wins he gets to choose who to join, which is most likely Smile Squash. But T2Hide and NωA badly want him. That’s not all, Rekka wants Soma to be the ace of his home promotion New Taiwan Pro Wrestling. T2Hide promises to make him their leader. NωA want him because he has a higher singing voice that none of the other members have. Last but not least, Saki Akai wants Soma to sign with the Oscar Promotion talent agency. Akai calls Oscar the largest unit in the wrestling world.

Kotatsu was asked to comment on its Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title defence but it kept silent.

1. “Back Bancho” Akane Miura Road To Graduation: Akane Miura Vs Maho Kurone
2. SIN Biishiki-gun Vs Konkatsu-gun: Saki-nami & Martha Vs Azusa Takigawa & Nonoko

Akane Miura announced today on her 20th birthday that she will be graduating from Tokyo Joshi Pro on 25th March. Miura was given an offer to go back to senior high school in April and she wishes to complete her education. She is unable to wrestle and concentrate on her studies at the same time so she had to make a decision. She had previously dropped out of high school but desired to return and thinks now is the perfect time in her life to do it. When she graduates in four years time she’ll consider returning to pro wrestling. She will continue to fight hard until her final match. Her next opponent is Maho Kurone who was upset to hear the news. One of the reasons Kurone came to Tokyo Joshi was to eat Miura. Now that Miura is leaving, Kurone promises she will only eat her hair and eyeballs.

There was even more sad news today. Azusa Takigawa and Nonoko were told to stop using issues of Zexy Magazine as a weapon in their matches. Zexy’s editorial department got in contact with Tokyo Joshi over the gimmick. While they appreciate having Konkatsu-gun as regular readers, they do not like their magazine being used as a weapon. Konsho-gun apologised to the editors and readers of the magazine and promised not to use Zexy for anything other than its intended purpose. They will refrain from using it as a weapon. Both Azusa Takigawa & Nonoko were crying their eyes out as they apologised. Zexy was their bible and now they feel like they just ended a relationship. The team is now in crisis. If they are no longer allowed to use marriage information magazines then can they still be called Konkatsu-gun (Marriage Army)?

*Kotatsu becomes the 1,207th champion.
6. DDT Extreme Title – Dog Chain Death Match: Jun Kasai (c) defeated Mad Paulie with the Pearl Harbour Splash (13:53).

7. Ultra Special Single Match: Yoshihiro Takayama defeated Danshoku Dino with the Lip Lock (10:36).
8. Humanity Is A Battle Blooming In A Huge Ring Of Naniwa! Osaka Specialty Special Tag Match: HARASHIMA & Akito defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Antonio Honda when HARASHIMA pinned Honda with the Somato (19:26).

Konosuke Takeshita remains confident he can beat HARASHIMA at Saitama Super Arena. He’s been telling himself he is the future of DDT ever since he debuted. Now that the Saitama Super Arena main event has been decided, he must beat HARASHIMA there to prove it. HARASHIMA told him he’s looking forward to the match and shook his hand with a big smile. But when Takeshita didn’t smile back, HARASHIMA’s expression changed and he refused to let go of the handshake until they were pulled away.

For the last week Soma Takao has been thinking of his own future. He was advised by Amon Tsurumi to join one of DDT’s units in order to improve his position on the roster. At the end of the show Takao approached Smile Squash and asked if he could join their side. He fought against them many times and ultimately he wants to beat HARASHIMA but until then he would like to work with him. T2Hide interrupted, Sanshiro Takagi wants Takao to join them instead. They’ll even trade Kazuki Hirata to Smile Squash if they have to! Yasu Urano told him they don’t want Hirata. Then NωA came out. They want Takao to be an idol like them. Tsurumi stopped the arguing and came up with a solution. There will be a Takao Battle Match on 12th February between Takao, Urano, Takagi and Oishi. If Takao wins he gets to join whichever unit he wants. If any other wrestler wins then their unit claims Takao. Any of the units not currently involved in the match can also enter it if they want to.

Danshoku Dino actually had Yoshihiro Takayama beaten with the Hell Car Combination with Makoto Oishi but pulled him up from the pin before the ref counted to three. Dino wasn’t done with him yet. He applied the Lip Lock but Takayama Hulked out of it and gave Dino his own Lip Lock. It was so powerful that Dino lost consciousness and was easily pinned afterwards. When he woke up Takayama told him the match was a painful struggle but the fighting is over. Takayama is no longer afraid of Dino. They both hugged and screamed “No Fear!” together.

Jun Kasai survived a Choke Slam through a table to beat Mad Paulie. A dog chain kept the two close to each other but Kasai decided to detach it from his collar and use the chain to tie up Paulie. With no way of escaping, Paulie was a sitting duck for the Pearl Harbour Splash. After the match Kasai nominated his DDT Extreme Title challenger for Saitama Super Arena. It’s Daisuke Sasaki! Kasai mentioned he has a relative’s wedding ceremony to attend that day but he wouldn’t miss this match for anything, even his parent’s funeral!

There is no question now that Team DNA are deserving KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions. They won the belts without beating the previous champions Shuten-dōji so naturally Shuten-dōji wanted the first title shot. Masahiro Takanashi’s run of victories ended when Kouki Iwasaki pinned him with the Leg Capture Suplex. Yukio Sakaguchi looked like he still wanted to fight after the match but instead he took one of the title belts and handed it to Kazusada Higuchi, accepting the result.

Hyota Echizenya appeared with the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title to talk with Takagi and Tsurumi. He entered the room wearing a Kotatsu table over his back and then invited the others to sit by the Kotatsu. Echizenya talked about being unable to write his current manuscript because of the pressures of defending the Iron Man title all the time. Their conversation was interrupted by Gota Ihashi and Dai Suzuki both wanting to attack the champion. Takagi stood up to defend Echizenya but accidentally flipped the Kotatsu on top of him in the process. 1…2…3! The Kotatsu table is the new champion! Tsurumi told Echizenya to pin the table and win the belt back but he declined. Echizenya originally won the title by beating the table so it is only fitting that the table won it back from him. He thanked DDT for the wonderful experience and he will now go back to writing his manuscript.

Naomi Yoshimura denied that he lost his tag match against DAMNATION. It was Yuki Ueno who submitted so under Yoshimura’s logic he’s the one who lost.

Guanchulo yelled about how much he hates children while he fought Yuni.

The opening match was held under Scramble Bunkhouse Lucha Glasses Rules.

7. KO-D Openweight Title: HARASHIMA (c) defeated Daisuke Sasaki with the Somato (21:53).
*V3 for HARASHIMA.

The main event for “JUDGEMENT 2017” at the Saitama Super Arena is now confirmed. HARASHIMA will put his KO-D Openweight Title on the line against Konosuke Takeshita. It wasn’t an easy task for both men to make it this far. They each had to overcome a tough challenge in Korakuen Hall today.

sweetdreams2017-kod2

HARASHIMA had to fend off Daisuke Sasaki in the main event. The build up for the battle between Ace and Charisma saw Sasaki use his tricks to get one over on the champion. However this resulted in HARASHIMA at one point going over the edge and choking out Sasaki without mercy. Sasaki was willing to risk waking up that dragon again for the championship. He attacked HARASHIMA while he was being showered in streamers for his ring entrance. He also Suplexed him from the ring apron to the outside then followed up with a Super Diving Elbow to the champion while he was sitting on a chair at ringside. Momentum looked to be flipping over to HARASHIMA until a wild kick accidentally knocked down Yukinori Matsui. Sasaki hit a Low Blow but Matsui’s recovery took long enough for HARASHIMA to kick out. HARASHIMA blocked Sasaki’s La Mistica Crossface with a Face Kick. Sasaki hit the flash Hurricanrana from out of nowhere but only got a nearfall. HARASHIMA then hit the Somato just as quick. A second Somato afterwards put Sasaki down for the count.

sweetdreams2017-challenger

Takeshita’s road to Saitama Super Arena took a big turn when he beat KUDO in the final of the KO-D Title Contender tournament. KUDO threw everything at him but Takeshita caught it all, somewhat literally. Takeshita caught KUDO during the Diving Double Knee Drop and then Power Bombed him into the turnbuckles. He blocked KUDO’s Backspin Kicks and in return hit Big Boots and a Discus Lariat. KUDO was too spent to do anything in return and was pinned with the German Suplex. There were no hard feelings over the result and both shook hands afterwards.

sweetdreams2017-takeshita-harashima

The show ended with HARASHIMA and Takeshita facing off in the ring. Takeshita said it may selfish but out of everybody in the tournament, he wanted the KO-D Title the most. He is ready to carry all of DDT on his back to beat HARASHIMA in Saitama Super Arena. HARASHIMA said he is glad to know his next challenger is prepared. Of course he himself will be wrestling at full power so let’s hope both of them fight with their greatest effort!

sweetdreams2017-ajpw

Yasu Urano may have charmed his way into an AJPW Jr. Title match but in the end he was humbled by the champion Keisuke Ishii. Urano kicked out of the Tiger Suplex but a stiff Kneel Kick put him away afterwards. Urano said he had no regrets from the match. He’s known Ishii ever since Ishii joined DDT. Now at forty years old and just coming off of being defeated by his junior, Urano thinks it is time for a new start. Ishii now looks ahead to the AJPW Jr. League.

sweetdreams2017-dino-takayama

Before Danshoku Dino and Yoshihiro Takayama fight each other one on one in Osaka next month, Dino wanted a piece of him straight away. He chased Takayama through the audience while Makoto Oishi and Dick Togo wrestled in the ring. Dino later used lewd moves on Togo to taunt Takayama while he was on the apron. That backfired when Togo returned to the ring wearing Danshoku tights, giving him the power to beat Dino & Oishi on his own. Takayama couldn’t help because he lost consciousness when Dino gave him the Stinkface. After the match Dino said that 8% of pro wrestlers around the world are gay. Today he was fighting at 70% or 80% gayness. He warned Takayama that in Osaka he will be at 100%!

sweetdreams2017-dino-dream

After Dino left the ring Amon Tsurumi called him back in. Tsurumi wanted to know if Dino had spent the 500,000 yen to sign his dream opponent for “JUDGEMENT 2017”. Dino didn’t know what he was talking about until a message on the screen announced Dino’s opponent is Joey Ryan! That’s not all, Super Sasadango Machine entered the ring and announced he will provide a special international PowerPoint presentation for the match. The presentation will be in Japanese, English, Mandarin and Spanish so many of DDT UNIVERSE’s foreign subscribers can follow it. However, Dino Vs Ryan is a match that could get too graphic. So if at any point the match gets out of control, the stream will cut to a censor graphic of Sanshiro Takagi posing naked. Enjoy!

sweetdreams2017-takao

Amon Tsurumi kept a close eye on Soma Takao during his match. After suffering another defeat Takao was asked to stay in the ring by the GM. He noticed that Takao made great progress when Team Dream Futures disbanded but his win-loss record then became poor when he lost the AJPW Jr. Title. Tsurumi would like Takao to be competing for championships again but maybe it is time for him to be part of a unit again. Takao admitted he had no goal to fight for when he lost the AJPW Jr. Title. Being in a unit again is a nice idea but it may not fix his problems. Takao promised to think about it and he will make up his mind soon.

sweetdreams2017-bacchus

Shuten-dōji got a small measure of revenge on Team DNA by winning the 3 Way Tag Match. Masahiro Takanashi surprised Kouki Iwasaki with the Bacchus rolling pin. Iwasaki apologised to Kazusada Higuchi for being careless. They lost today but are hoping to beat Shuten-dōji in Osaka when the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles are on the line. Takanashi isn’t impressed by what he’s heard. He thinks they could at least try to make the title match sound exciting.

sweetdreams2017-scramble

The opening match was turned into a Bunkhouse Scramble Death Match with Hirata GO! glasses as the object left in the middle of the ring. But when the match began everyone ignored them to fight among the fans instead. Antonio Honda stopped the match again to tell a fairy tale but this time asked Guanchulo to translate it into English for the foreign viewers watching on DDT UNIVERSE. The story turned out to be Little Red Riding Hood except in this version the wolf when disguised as the grandmother says his eyes are red because he’s watched too much porn. Kazuki Hirata wanted all the attention for himself so the glasses finally came into play. But Shunma Katsumata took the glasses from him and rolled Hirata over for the pin.

sweetdreams2017-dark

Nobuhiro Shimatani is now at 10 “defences” for the King Of Dark Title. He was reminded that if he does not lose the title before the end of February he will not be a part of DNA’s relaunch. His next “defence” is scheduled for 12th February.

Colt Cabana will wrestle in DDT for the first time in February. He is already booked for three shows during the month. On 12/2 he is in a 3 Way Match with MAO and Konosuke Takeshita. Then on the 14/2 YaroZ show he will face Antonio Honda. Finally on 19th February Colt goes one on one with Danshoku Dino.

“JUDGEMENT 2017” had some more matches announced during the show. Shigehiro Irie Vs Mike Bailey, a Battle Royal for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title (still held by comedian Hyota Echizenya), an 8-Person tag featuring Jaguar Yokota and a tag match between Yoshihiro Takayama & Dick Togo against Shungo Oyama and a mystery partner are all part of the card.

DAMNATION will be running their own unlawful show in Shinjuku FACE on 14th April. There will also be a show exclusive to members of the DDT Fan Club happening in Kitasenju Theatre 1010 on 13th May.

ddtspecial-dino-ishikawa

As the runner-up of this year’s DDT Dramatic General Election, Danshoku Dino received a KO-D Openweight Title shot against Shuji Ishikawa. It’s a situation Dino has been in before, earning KO-D Title matches through popularity contests. However each time Dino came up short and today was no different. Dino targeted Ishikawa’s legs by applying Crab Holds and an STF. Ishikawa fired back with Knee Lifts and even added insult to injury by attempting a Danshoku Nightmare to Dino. The champion of course hit his Headbutts but Dino responded with a middle finger and a Headbutt of his own! Dino wore down Ishikawa with the Sliding Lip Lock, hit the Danshoku Driver and rolled him over with the Gay-do Clutch but Ishikawa kicked out! A Rainmaker Lip Lock was countered with an Elbow Strike. The Danshoku Driver was countered into the Fire Thunder. All seemed lost for Dino but he wouldn’t give up and continued to flip off Ishikawa. Sadly a Running Knee Strike and Rainmaker Headbutt took away the last of Dino’s energy and Ishikawa won with the Giant Driver. Ishikawa stood proud of himself for beating DDT’s icon. Dino gave him one more middle finger before collapsing. Ishikawa moved forward to shake Dino’s hand but Daisuke Sasaki kicked him away so he could rub the victory in Dino’s face. HARASHIMA then showed up to congratulate the champion. He said he will face Ishikawa for the title at Osaka Edion Arena #1 in December and he will beat him fair and square! Ishikawa said he will beat HARASHIMA because he is the strongest in pro wrestling. Sasaki interrupted him again to close out the show.

rockpaperscissors2016

The annual Rock Paper Scissors tournament took place with a DDT Extreme Title shot on the line. Saki Akai was the last woman standing beating out Shunma Katsumata in the final. Akai will face Dino for the belt at the 23rd November Korakuen Hall show. Akai said after that night she will be walking down the runway with the championship belt wrapped around her!

ddtspecial-harashima-endo

HARASHIMA Vs Tetsuya Endo began with HARASHIMA Dropkicking his opponent out of the ring. However Endo took the opportunity to hide away from HARASHIMA and lure him outside. Endo snuck back into the ring behind HARASHIMA’s back and then dove onto him with a No Touch Topé. Endo stomped on HARASHIMA back in the ring, mockingly calling him “Ace” as he did so. The match went back and forth with Endo cutting off HARASHIMA through Dragon Screws. Endo got a nearfall with the Torture Rack Bomb then went for the Sky Twister Press. HARASHIMA rolled out of the way and countered with the Somato. He was too tired to go for the pin but a second Somato later was enough to put Endo away.

ddtspecial-sasaki-takanashi

Due to their opportunistic personalities, both Daisuke Sasaki and Masahiro Takanashi were careful not to make any mistakes while wrestling each other. Sasaki forced Takanashi to sit on a chair at ringside so he could go for his Super Diving Elbow but Takanashi cut him off by throwing the chair at him as he climbed the turnbuckles. Sasaki later countered the Takatonic into the Cross Facelock but that itself was countered into a Cradle for a two count. Sasaki pushed Takanashi into the referee and used the distraction to hit the Vietnam Driver II for the three count.

ddtspecial-ohka-takeshita

Part of the card had to be reshuffled when Super Sasadango Machine was unable to wrestle due to poor physical condition. Ken Ohka now had to wrestle Konosuke Takeshita. Ohka brought out a barbed wire baseball bat and used it to choke Takeshita. However Ohka was given a taste of his own medicine when Takeshita gave him the Blue Thunder Bomb onto the bat! Ohka kicked out of that but he couldn’t kick out of the German Suplex afterwards. Takeshita thanked Ohka for the match because they both have the same goals. Ohka disagreed and thinks they are on different paths, Ohka only does things the Ganbare way!

ddtspecial-shutendoji-honda

With Takeshita moved over to fave Ohka, Antonio Honda now had to team with Kazusada Higuchi for his match against Shuten-dōji. Honda stopped the match so he could show off his new ballet skills. He went to see The Nutcracker the night before and has been practicing ever since. As he tried to dance he hit KUDO and Yukio Sakaguchi with Brain Chops. Shuten-dōji got their payback by kicking the hell out of him. They’re now looking forward to winning the KO-D Tag Team Titles in Nagano on 3rd November.

ddtspecial-ishii-soma

The rivalry between former teammates Soma Takao and Keisuke Ishii is heating up now that the AJPW Jr. Title is involved. Ishii recently became the No. 1 Contender for the championship and he will get his shot in All Japan on 27th November. Ishii thinks their title match is the culmination of their time spent in All Japan over the last three years. Soma got the better of him here with a Thrust Kick. Then he pinned Yasu Urano with the Gin And Tonic while Akito kept Ishii at bay.

ddtspecial-cherry-akai

I don’t know if you noticed but Saki Akai and Cherry don’t like each other. Cherry refused to shake Akai’s hand before their match and instead attacked her. After some stomping and hair pulling the match properly begun. Cherry won the match but Akai got a little bit of revenge by Dropkicking Cherry out of the ring afterwards.

ddtspecial-owashi-nwa

Toru Owashi took time out of the opening bout to complain that T2Hide weren’t being invited to perform as idols at “DDT FES 2016”. While he complained, NωA took advantage and pinned Kazuki Hirata. When the match was over Makoto Oishi called Sanshiro Takagi into the ring. If NωA wasn’t going to be added to “DDT FES 2016” then he will quit the group! Takagi told him the group was originally set up so they could be a part of the festival. Oishi’s threat showed just how serious he took his role so Takagi agreed to add them to the festival! NωA then performed “Never Give Up☆I LOVE YOU”. They also have a second song in the works.

ddtspecial-paulie-miyamoto

The last change to the card involved adding Rekka to the dark match. Rekka took Higuchi’s place in the match, teaming with Mizuki Watase against Yuko Miyamoto & Mad Paulie. Miyamoto patted Paulie like a pet when they won the match.

ddtspecial-irie

Shigehiro Irie made his first appearance in DDT since his excursion to America back in July. Irie spoke about how he gained experience in USA that he could not have gotten in Japan. He got to wrestle against people who are more his size like Colt Cabana, Chris Hero and Tommy Dreamer. While Irie’s first match back in Japan is set for 6th November at “DDT FES 2016” he won’t go back to regular competition in DDT until the 4th December Osaka show. Also he is looking forward more to seeing his favourite idol group perform at “DDT FES 2016” than he is wrestling. Irie then showed off the English he learned in America. “Nice to meet you. My name is SHIGEHIRO IRIE. From Japan. ……I Love You. I Miss You. I Need You.”

More details to come later but DDT will launch its own video on-demand service next year! DDT Universe will launch on January 2017 and for 900 yen a month subscribers will get access to watch DDT, DNA, BASARA, Tokyo Joshi Pro, Ganbare☆Wrestling and Street Wrestling shows. All Korakuen Hall shows and major events in big buildings will air live on the service. There will also be other content like reality shows featuring the DDT roster.

Yukio Sakaguchi & Masakatsu Funaki Vs Yoshihiro Takayama & Kazusada Higuchi was announced for “OSAKA OCTOPUS 2016” on 4th December.

A secret series of Spring wrestling shows were made public starting with an event in Best Western Rembrandt Hotel Tokyo Machida on 22nd January. The tour will be called the Best Western Lariat Series. Also the YaroZ brand will be brought back for a St. Valentine’s Day show in Shin-Kiba 1st RING.

DDT’s branch of restaurants and bars including the Drop Kick Bar, Ebisuko Tavern and SWANDIVE will now belong to a new parent company called DDT Foods. KUDO was chosen to be the new president of the company.

7. Special Single Match: Tetsuya Endo defeated Konosuke Takeshita with the Sky Twister Press (22:13).

A clash of former best friends headlined DDT’s annual “OSAKA BAYS BLUE SPECIAL” in Osaka Edion Arena #2. In fact, Tetsuya Endo’s turn to DAMNATION began because he couldn’t beat Konosuke Takeshita for the KO-D Openweight Title back in July. With a new, darker attitude Endo took his chance to redeem himself. Daisuke Sasaki gave a helping hand early when he swept Takeshita’s leg as he rebounded from the ropes. Endo himself hit some big moves like a No Touch Topé and a Hand Spring Kneel Kick. But Takeshita fired back with a Blue Thunder and a Turnbuckle Bomb. Endo tried to do the Torture Rack Bomb but Takeshita countered it into a Sleeper Hold. Takeshita went for his German Suplex finisher but Endo landed on his feet. This time he hit the Torture Rack and followed with the Sky Twister Press to finally get that victory over Takeshita. After the match Endo told Takeshita that this was reality. He thanked Sasaki for giving him the chance to show his true worth. Sasaki said he and Endo will win the KO-D Tag Team Titles, then Shuji Ishikawa will beat Kazusada Higuchi to keep the KO-D Title. Add in the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles and soon all KO-D belts will be under their control. DAMNATION will conquer DDT!

HARASHIMA could hardly wait to get his hands on DAMNATION in the 6-Man Tag match. After a quick ringside brawl HARASHIMA and Higuchi teamed up to take on Ishikawa. The champion and his challenger fired back and forth until they were both spent and laid out. However Higuchi got his second wind when fighting Mad Polly and slammed Sasaki’s pet with a big Goten for the three count. Higuchi warned Ishikawa that the same will happen to him on 25th September. Higuchi then told the Osaka crowd he will be the champion when DDT returns to the city.

Soma Takao successfully completed his first defence of the AJPW Jr. Title with a win over Kazuki Hirata. Takao’s opponent had spent the last month trying to prove he was taking this match seriously, ditching his dancing antics during his bouts. A Mad Splash got him close to winning but his Egoist Driver was countered into a Reverse DDT. Takao then won with the Gin And Tonic. Hirata sat and bowed to Takao and he got a pat on the shoulder in return. Takao said in his victory speech that he wants to be a strong champion whether it’s in DDT or elsewhere in Japan.

KUDO took time to appreciate being able to wrestle again. He told the crowd this was the first time in a year that he wrestled in Osaka. His knees have recovered steadily and he wants to show more and more strength when he comes back to Osaka next month.

During the 3 Way Tag Match Yoshihiko betrayed its tag partner Antonio Honda! It dove onto Danshoku Dino but was caught and put in the Lip Lock for a long time. The kiss convinced Yoshihiko to join Dino’s side and it gave Honda a Choke Slam. It then performed a Spinning Headscissors that threw Honda into the Danshoku Driver. When the match was over Dino was informed he will defend the DDT Extreme Title in Sapporo on 10th October. His opponent? Sanshiro Takagi! With DDT’s 20th Anniversary approaching Takagi is looking back through the company’s history to find a match for him and Dino. He found just the one, the Dai Ichin Pa-Lien Seiha Match! Dino thinks Takagi is sick because he spends so much time managing different companies. So it is up to Dino as the Wrestling Mentalist to cure him.

Kota Ibushi, Kuishinbo Kamen and Kikutaro were announced for “OSAKA OCTOPUS 2016” in Osaka Edion Arena #1 on 4th December.

6. Daisuke Sasaki & Tetsuya Endo defeated HARASHIMA & Akito when Sasaki pinned Akito with the Vietnam Driver II (15:13).

Immediately after winning the main event, Daisuke Sasaki grabbed a microphone and yelled “Hurry up and drop dead, Smile fucking Squash!” He then wanted to tell a personal story to the audience. Yesterday a women he claims he used to date got married in America. It was Candice LeRae. Well he doesn’t care because he’s with DAMNATION! However he then muttered that he wanted marry Candice and his head sank at the thought. Tetsuya Endo and Mad Polly tried to cheer him up as they left ringside. Ken Ohka had to rush into the ring and finish the post-show speech so it could end on a happier note.

Ohka went into his hometown return determined to beat Antonio Honda for the first time in his career. Honda opened up the show badmouthing Ohka in front of his local fans. Honda was told that Ohka was a hometown hero but he disagreed. Honda said Toyama’s real heroes were Fujiko Fujio, the manga group that created Doraemon. When the match went ahead Ohka dodged the Diving Fist Drop and hit the Flame Spear to score the victory. Ohka thanked his hometown fans for cheering him on and giving him the power to achieve this win.

Tension is brewing between Soma Takao and Kazuki Hirata one day before their AJPW Jr. Title match. Takao said he is raising the title’s value by defending it in DDT before his eventual defences in All Japan. Hirata said he would absolutely not lose to Takao. Instead he will become the 42nd champion. They then squared off before going their separate ways.

7. DDT Extreme Title – Hiroshima Toyo Rules: Danshoku Dino (c) defeated Keisuke Ishii with a Lip Lock (11:37).
*V1 for Danshoku Dino.

To celebrate the Hiroshima Toyo Carp baseball team winning the Central League pennant for the first time in 25 years, Danshoku Dino decided to base the DDT Extreme Title match rules on the team’s history and achievements. During the match every second of a pinfall will be added together. Whoever is doing the pin on the 25th total second will win the match. Other ways to win were to name the ten most recent managers of the Hiroshima baseball team or name at least ten foreigners who played for the team. The match began with Dino and Keisuke Ishii trading two count pins. Dino then got to pin Ishii for 5 more seconds after doing multiple pins and also the Danshoku Nightmare. The count went up to 11 when Ishii pinned Dino with a Diving Senton, then up to 13 after a Missile Dropkick. Dino put Ishii in the Lip Lock and pinned him for two seconds. Ishii then Kangaroo Kicked Dino for another two count, then brought the count up to 24 with a Fisherman Suplex, the Kneel Kick and a Tiger Suplex. Dino avoided a Brainbuster but could not hit the Danshoku Driver. Ishii tried to roll him over for the final pin count but Dino caught him in another Lip Lock and scored the winning 25th second pinfall. After the match Dino remembered they could have named the managers and foreign players instead of wrestling so he listed them off. Dino thanked Ishii for helping him create a nice memory for such a historic day in the city. They then led the fans in chanting for the team to end the show.

Konosuke Takeshita said he had a strange feeling while wrestling Dick Togo. It was amazing and intense and he wants to do it again. Antonio Honda said Togo hasn’t changed even though he last wrestled against him five years ago.

As DAMNATION entered the ring for their match, Shuji Ishikawa held the KO-D Openweight Title belt in Kazusada Higuchi’s sight. The two looked ready to face off when Tetsuya Endo stepped in wanting to start the match. Higuchi then stepped back and Yoshihiro Takayama took his place. Endo and Daisuke Sasaki tagged back and forth while trying to weaken Takayama with Low Kicks. DAMNATION were able to keep the two larger opponents away while Sasaki tapped out Kouki Iwasaki to win. Ishikawa began a promo about how both he and the Hiroshima Toyo Carp were both champions but Sasaki kicked him aside and cut him off to brag about DAMNATION’s dominance. He called both Higuchi and Takayama “Dwarf Motherfuckers”.

After yesterday’s defeat, Kazuki Hirata bounced back by pinning Soma Takao in another tag match. Hirata now thinks he has the momentum going into Osaka for the AJPW Jr. Title match. He thinks he has turned everyone’s expectations around.

6. Daisuke Sasaki & Tetsuya Endo defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Antonio Honda when Sasaki submitted Honda with La Mistica Cross Facelock (19:23).

Konosuke Takeshita and Tetsuya Endo continued fighting out of the ring after the main event. As they were pulled apart Takeshita yelled at Endo “At Osaka just remember. Fight fair and square.” Daisuke Sasaki taunted Takeshita and dared him to fight Endo. He said next week Endo will stab the final nail in Takeshita’s coffin. Then on the 25th he and Endo will win the KO-D Tag Team Titles for DAMNATION.

Yoshihiro Takayama & Dick Togo were successful in their first time tagging together. However both of them don’t know if they will continue teaming together in the future. Takayama noted how hard HARASHIMA kicks while Togo thought wrestling against Akito was a fresh experience.

After winning their match Danshoku Dino, Joey Ryan & Yoshihiko declared they are the most dangerous trio the city of Hamamatsu have ever seen. They won by giving Makoto Oishi a triple team Danshoku Driver.

One day away from his DDT Extreme Title shot, Keisuke Ishii remembers when he won the belt for the first time. He was booed back then although in that situation he was an outsider wrestling in Union Pro. He thinks this time when he wins it will be different.

Soma Takao sent a message to Kazuki Hirata by pinning him in the opening tag bout. The AJPW Jr. Heavyweight Champion said Hirata isn’t good enough to help him become a stronger champion.

In the main event Konosuke Takeshita put his KO-D Openweight Title on the line against DAMNATION’s big dog, Shuji Ishikawa. Takeshita quickly knocked his opponent outside the ring with a Lariat and followed up with a Plancha. The tables turned when Ishikawa Power Bombed Takeshita onto the ring apron. He was badly hurt but managed to break the countout in time. Ishikawa continued the attack by standing on him, applying a Bearhug and hitting a Knee Lift. There was also a Double Stomp from the second rope. Takeshita avoided the Fire Thunder and fired back with a Dropkick to get some time to recover. However Shuji Ishikawa brought out a big Missile Dropkick when he stopped a Superplex attempt. Takeshita did a Missile Dropkick of his own after a Dragon Suplex. The Blue Thunder Bomb only got a two count. Takeshita couldn’t lift Ishikawa for the Deadlift German Suplex so Ishikawa got to do a Back Drop into a Backstabber instead. The two soon traded Lariats and Headbutts until Takeshita caught Ishikawa with a German Suplex for a nearfall. Ishikawa avoided the Cross Arm German Suplex by blindly Headbutting Takeshita behind him. He then hit the Fire Thunder that left both men down on the canvas. When they got up Takeshita went for a Lariat but was blocked with a Knee Lift. Ishikawa hit the Splash Mountain but Takeshita kicked out! Unfortunately that was the last of his fighting spirit spent as Ishikawa then hit the Giant Slam to become the new KO-D Champion! Ishikawa acknowledged Takeshita’s strength in his victory promo but he is even stronger. Ishikawa welcomes another challenge in the future. He then said his heyday isn’t now but tomorrow. Daisuke Sasaki took the mic and demanded applause for the new champion. He said this was the happy ending and Takeshita is only a B grade wrestler who should study in school. From now on it’s the era of the Large Giant! So who should challenge him? The ringside area filled up with the DDT roster but Sasaki wasn’t impressed. He called all of them B grade garbage wrestlers. At the next show DAMNATION themselves will decide who the No. 1 Contender should be. Ishikawa tried to thank the crowd for their support but Sasaki cut him off. Sasaki introduced every member of DAMNATION and said they are the best, they are not married and they are DAMNATION!

peterpan2016-kodtag

Bad times have come for Bad Comi. Their first defence of the KO-D Tag Team Titles was a failure, losing out to Smile Yankee. Things went south pretty quickly when a Plancha from KAI only hit Ken Ohka and Shota but not their opponents. A brawl around the arena followed and KAI took the time to do some commentary on the Samurai! TV broadcast. HARASHIMA & Yuko Miyamoto took control back in the ring until a Double Spear from the champions laid them out. Ohka gave HARASHIMA a Dragon Suplex for a two count but Miyamoto blocked his Spear Of Flame afterwards. The distraction allowed HARASHIMA to hit the Somato from out of nowhere. KAI Buckle Bombed HARASHIMA and Ohka stood in place ready to Spear Miyamoto. That’s where it all fell apart. Miyamoto leap frogged out of the way and Ohka accidentally Speared KAI instead! Miyamoto hit the Fire Thunder on Ohka and HARASHIMA followed with another Somato to crown new tag team champions!

Poor Mike Bailey got busted open in his match and by his own partner no less. Dick Togo stopped Tetsuya Endo from pinning Bailey by whacking Endo over the back with a chair. Unfortunately a part of the chair caught Bailey in the temple and cut him open. Bailey valiantly fought on but missed the Shooting Star Double Knee Drop. He was struck again with the chair, this time by Endo and a Sky Twister Press ended the match. An angry Togo threw the chair out of the ring at DAMNATION and he ranted about Sasaki backstage. This isn’t over by a long shot. Bailey meanwhile had to get six stitches over his eyebrow. Next for Sasaki & Endo is a chase for the KO-D Tag Team Titles.

Unfortunately there was no Terry Funk for Match #7. Shiro Koshinaka took his place to help Sanshiro Takagi & NOSAWA Rongai take on Shuten-dōji & The Great Kabuki. “Battle Without Honor or Humanity” began playing but it was suddenly switched with “Yankee Station”. Both Yukio Sakaguchi & Kota Umeda entered the arena with half of their faces covered in Great Kabuki facepaint. Takagi and NOSAWA both had sudden knee problems late in the match but gutted through them to win. The Shuten-dōji wrestlers apologised to Kabuki for their “bastard performance” after the match. They hope to team with him again one more time. Takagi and NOSAWA spent their interview reminiscing over DDT’s early years. Memories of the late Super Uchu Power were brought up.

Two important things were on the line for LiLiCo and Danshoku Dino. The DDT Extreme Title and love. Maybe love is more important. That’s up for debate. But hey, a shiny championship is a shiny championship. Oh and there’s also the fate of Mizuki Watase who would either end the match as LiLiCo’s boyfriend or getting pulled out of the closet (allegedly) by Dino. Watase did what he could to help LiLiCo, he was legally allowed to. LiLiCo even played effective mind games by mocking the size of Dino’s manhood. They delivered a Double DDT of love to down Dino but an unconscious referee meant the pin didn’t count. Dino recovered, gave LiLiCo a face full of his backside and drove her into despair by giving Watase a Lip Lock. A furious LiLiCo charged right into a Brainbuster and she was then pinned with the Danshoku Driver. Dino told LiLiCo to accept the stipulation, give him Watase and leave the ring. However Watase pushed Dino away and wouldn’t leave his girlfriend’s side. Dino couldn’t understand it. Is Watase really in love with LiLiCo? It’s not like they’re getting married on 25th September… That’s when Watase went down on one knee and pulled out a little box. Watase was ready to propose right there in the ring when Suguru Miyatake suddenly appeared. Miyatake was originally LiLiCo’s bodyguard before he got injured. He wanted to be the one in newspaper photos with her. He wanted to go on the trip to Sweden to meet her parents. He wants the recognition of being her boyfriend so he too will propose to her! “Wait a minute!” Bernard Ackah (where the hell has he been?) approached the ring. He said he was LiLiCo’s very first bodyguard and he wants the fame of being LiLiCo’s boyfriend. He also proposed. Makoto Oishi then joined in. If he is going to be a major idol then being married to LiLiCo will help him greatly. If there weren’t already enough proposals Super Sasadango Machine showed up and proposed too. Dino had an idea. Everyone except Miyatake (because he’s injured) should wrestle in a match and the winner gets to be LiLiCo’s fiance. Everyone agreed, Miyatake broke down into tears. Dino finished the segment by telling everyone that as long as DDT is around, so is he.

Soma Takao is now 8-0 in “PETER PAN” matches and he won the AJPW Jr. Heavyweight Championship too! Takao went into the match with new red wrestling gear. His opponent Hikaru Sato came out to “Electro World” by Perfume, the same song he used when he won the KO-D Title back in 2010. All Soma needed to do was hit the Gin And Tonic but Sato made it difficult. However Takao hit Thrust Kick after Thrust Kick to weaken the champion. By the end Sato couldn’t avoid the Gin And Tonic anymore and that was all she wrote. Takao thanked Sato for the match and welcomed him to a rematch down the line. Kazuki Hirata interrupted the victory speech and challenged Takao for a title shot. Fans may think he is useless but his desire to win the title is genuine. Amon Tsurumi tried to give an answer but Hirata cut him off, wanting to hear only from Takao. The champion wants to defend the belt in DDT but isn’t sure Hirata is prepared. He will give him a shot if Hirata’s desire is true. Takao offered a handshake but slapped Hirata afterwards. Hirata slapped back and the two stood off forehead to forehead. In the post-match interview Takao said he wants to defend the title against Atsushi Aoki. He thinks Aoki is the current symbol of All Japan’s Jr. Division and he won’t be satisfied with his reign until he can beat him.

Class was in session for NωA. Before their match could take place Super Sasadango Machine set up a PowerPoint presentation to explain today’s mission. NωA need to get 50,000 Twitter followers in order to qualify for a spot in “DDT FES 2016” in November. They only have 1,200 followers. Sasadango came up with PDCA: Plan, Do, Check and Action. He had four steps for NωA tofay. 1) Perform live. 2) Wrestle the match 3) Use your opponent’s technique to trick them. 4) After winning the match go sell CDs at the merch table. So NωA performed “Never Give Up☆I LOVE YOU” live, wrestled the match and tried to attack Antonio Honda with the Bionic Elbow. Honda’s partners kept getting in the way and powered up Honda by singing “We Are The World”. They got so engrossed in singing that they forgot about Honda and allowed him to get overwhelmed by his opponents. MAO hit the Cannonball 450° and got the win for NωA. After the match there was the reveal of all the talent confirmed for “DDT FES 2016”. NωA were not announced but Kota Ibushi was! Backstage Sasadango told NωA not to worry about it and just focus on selling CDs. Honda meanwhile accused his teammates of poor singing because it did not power him up as much as they thought it would. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi cheered him up by saying the four of them should go out and have sex with everyone.

KUDO’s return was a triumphant one. He picked up the win and celebrated afterwards with some drinks. Masahiro Takanashi said the wine tasted great because he got to drink with his “big brother” again. KUDO said he felt anxious having his first match in so long but his confidence helped him. He also said this was just the start of his big return. With important shows in Osaka and Saitama happening in the next 8 months, KUDO is aiming to win a championship.

Joey Ryan was barely back in Japan for ten minutes before he lost the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title at the airport. Guanchulo tricked him into tapping out to win the title. The belt switched a few more times between them, Toru Owashi and Sanshiro Takagi’s daughter Rei Takagi until the day of the show. Owashi went into Sumo Hall carrying the title tired from fighting off attackers. He ate some Yakitori chicken and fell asleep. Unfortunately he dropped the chicken on his chest and it counted as a pin. So a piece of chicken went into the Battle Royal as the defending champion. Ryan, Kazuki Hirata and Cherry fought over the chicken and Cherry became the champion by eating it. Gota Ihashi’s crush on Saki Akai briefly ended when he saw Reika Saiki for the first time. She eliminated herself to avoid being in the ring with him. Keisuke Ishii won the title when he violently submitted Cherry with a stomp assisted Half Crab Hold. Mad Polley (Polly? Paulie? Help me out here DDT!) went on a rampage and was very difficult to eliminate. Yoshihiko was the last entrant and locked on a Rear Naked Choke to Ishii, making him tap out. Jun Kasai was all set to do the Pearl Harbour Splash when Hirata stole his goggles. Kasai instead put on a pair of HIRATA GO! glasses but the power of the music was too much to resist. Kasai and Hirata danced together and eliminated several wrestlers while doing so. Yoshihiko pinned Kasai with the Reincarnation and went to fight Hirata. Owashi caught both of them with La Magistral Cradle to win the match and leave as champion. That is until Ryan snuck in a School Boy on the entrance ramp. Ryan thought he was safe until Guanchulo shoved another Yakitori chicken down his mouth backstage. Ryan tapped out from the choking and the chicken was declared champion. The chicken survived the rest of the show until the very end when comedian Ryota Yamasato ate it, blissfully unaware of what it went through. So Yamasato is now champion.

peterpan2016-dna

In preparation for the DNA Grand Prix in October four of the wrestlers entering the tournament were put into a tag team match to open the show proper. Daiki Shimomura was meant to wipe out Mizuki Watase with a Quebrada but almost crippled himself with a bad landing. Thankfully he was okay. Back in the ring Kazusada Higuchi got the win over Kouki Iwasaki. Higuchi said the match was a good opportunity to measure everyone’s strength. He even warned Shimomura that they will be rivals in the Grand Prix. Shimomura thanked him for the warning.

peterpan2016-joshi

Tokyo Joshi Pro provided one of the two pre-show matches. Miyu Yamashita, Yuka Sakazaki & Akane Miura worked well together. While Yamashita took care of Hyper Misao, Miura held Shoko Nakajima in a Torture Rack and Yamashita tightrope walked over to do the Magical Girl Kick. Yamashita then pinned Misao with the Attitude Adjustment. Yamashita now has a TOKYO Princess Of Princess Title match with Yuu to worry about.

peterpan2016-dark

The day began with father and son teaming up in the dark match. Chikara had a King Of Dark Title defence lined up and his dad Mitsuo Momota was there to help get rid of the cursed championship. Nobuhiro Shimatani was also teaming with them but it didn’t matter. Chikara got pinned by Tomomitsu Matsunaga after Momota accidentally Clotheslined his pride and joy. Still, Chikara was amazed he got to wrestle in Sumo Hall. Momota wants to wrestle a proper match in DDT and hopes Chikara will work hard to lose the title.

peterpan2016-takayama-yuni
