TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO JOSHI 2022 WINTER”, 20/01/2022
Shinjuku FACE
210 Fans – Super No Vacancy

1. Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki, Haruna Neko & Kaya Toribami defeated Marika Kobashi, Raku, Pom Harajuku & Mahiro Kiryu when Mizuki pinned Harajuku with the Diving Foot Stomp (11:44).
2. 2nd “Futari wa Princess” Max Heart Tournament – Round 2: Moka Miyamoto & Yuki Arai defeated Suzume & Arisu Endo when Miyamoto submitted Endo with the Rashomon (11:41).
3. 2nd “Futari wa Princess” Max Heart Tournament – Round 2: Nodoka Tenma & Yuki Aino defeated Hikari Noa & Nao Kakuta when Aino pinned Kakuta with the Venus DDT (13:16).
4. 2nd “Futari wa Princess” Max Heart Tournament – Round 2: Yuki Kamifuku & Asuka defeated Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh when Kamifuku pinned Itoh with the Famouser (15:57).
5. 2nd “Futari wa Princess” Max Heart Tournament – Round 2: Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe defeated Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao when Tatsumi pinned Misao with the Missile Hips (14:57).

The Max Heart Tournament is down to four teams with some heavy hitters taken out in the process. Daydream eliminated Kyoraku Kyomei in the main event. Rika Tatsumi is now confident that she & Miu Watanabe will win the tournament because they defeated the team that beat The Magical Sugar Rabbits in Round 1. Hyper Misao blames herself for losing today but Shoko Nakajima consoled her over it.

VENYU continue to be an unexpectedly powerful force by knocking out 121000000. The two singles champions of Tokyo Joshi Pro are now eliminated! Asuka and Miyu Yamashita took each other out with a Spin Kick Vs Skull Kick exchange. That left Yuki Kamifuku to take the pin after giving Maki Itoh the Famouser. Asuka was satisfied by the match. She pointed out she didn’t get to wrestle Itoh in AEW and she knew the fans wanted to see it. She was also happy to finally wrestle Yamashita. Itoh is taking the loss in her stride and clearly sees what is in her future. Kamifuku got her attention.

Never count out The Bakuretsu Sisters, even when the team is entering its twilight period. It’s their last tournament together so Nodoka Tenma & Yuki Aino are doing their best, beating Free WiFi as they head into the semi-finals. Tenma says they don’t need to use Free WiFi because she’s got a fixed line at home. Nao Kakuta still thinks she did well with Hikari Noa and wants them to get stronger together so they can challenge for the Princess Tag Team Titles.

The Cinderella team of the tournament turned out to be MokaYuki. A Full Nelson Buster from Yuki Arai kept Suzume down so Moka Miyamoto could make Arisu Endo submit to the Rashomon. Arai was amazed by the result because Arisuzu are a more organised team compared to their classmates. They are now carrying a lot of momentum into the next round.

The semi-final draw was held at the end of the show. All the remaining teams grabbed a piece of paper and the teams with the same colours will face each other. So on 29th January we are getting Daydream Vs MokaYuki and The Bakuretsu Sisters Vs VENYU!

Sayuri Namba was absent from the show after she tested positive for covid. Big Japan’s usual ring announcer Yuji Shindo filled in for her and Yuki Aino helped him through the opening announcements.

TJPW x Prestige, Covid Updates

January 19, 2022

Yesterday Prestige Wrestling announced they have begun a working relationship with Tokyo Joshi Pro. They tweeted “Over the coming months & years we will bring many of their top stars to the United States!” Prestige has been around since 2017 but had not run any shows since 2019 because of the pandemic. 2022 is their re-launch and they have several shows booked in Oregon and California throughout springtime.

I don’t have much thought on this at the moment. The gap of time between Prestige’s last show to now is long enough that this may as well be a brand new indie so I have no idea what matches to think could happen. At least it’s a potential sign of international travel opening up for the TJPW roster and there might be more work in America available for them than just AEW. Fingers crossed it works out for both sides if it goes ahead.

The entire 2nd Round of the Max Heart Tournament takes place tomorrow. We’re getting 121000000 Vs VENYU, Daydream Vs Kyoraku Kyomei, The Bakuretsu Sisters Vs Free WiFi and Arisuzu Vs MokaYuki. There was concern last week when a member of staff from the venue tested positive for covid but nobody from TJPW was identified as a close contact. Everyone on the roster took PCR tests to be sure and all came back negative. So tomorrow’s show is going ahead as scheduled.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO JOSHI 2022 WINTER”, 15/01/2022

215 Fans – Super No Vacancy

1. Moka Miyamoto defeated Kaya Toribami with the Rashomon (5:08).
2. Nao Kakuta defeated Arisu Endo with the Shiden Kai (7:08).
3. 3 Way Match: Hikari Noa defeated Suzume and Haruna Neko when Noa pinned Neko with the Rotating Leg Hold (8:28).
4. Rika Tatsumi, Miu Watanabe, Nodoka Tenma & Yuki Aino defeated Miyu Yamashita, Maki Itoh, Pom Harajuku & Mahiro Kiryu when Tatsumi pinned Harajuku after the Daydream Eternity (12:41).
5. 2nd “Futari wa Princess” Max Heart Tournament – Round 1: Yuki Kamifuku & Asuka defeated Marika Kobashi & Raku when Asuka pinned Kobashi with the Liger Bomb (8:50).
6. 2nd “Futari wa Princess” Max Heart Tournament – Round 1: Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao defeated Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki when Nakajima pinned Mizuki with the Northern Lights Suplex (14:53).

A message was sent loud and clear from Shoko Nakajima to the rest of Tokyo Joshi Pro. She will be the next Princess Of Princess Champion and cannot lose to anyone! The proof is in her pinning Mizuki and Kyoraku Kyomei eliminating The Magical Sugar Rabbits in Round 1! Of course, she couldn’t have done this alone. Hyper Misao is there trying to catch up to her partner and promises to beat Daydream in Round 2 because she is so inspired by Nakajima. For MagiRabi this is the second year in a row they crashed out of the Max Heart Tournament in the opening round. Yuka Sakazaki knew they were going up against their toughest opponents and she didn’t let her guard down until the final minute. The reigning Princess Tag Team Champions confirmed afterward they will give the next title shot to the winners of the tournament.

VENYU were together again for the first time since their debut performance last October and it’s safe to say the team can become successful if they keep it up. After beating Marika Kobashi & Raku to advance, Yuki Kamifuku told the fans that Asuka was feeling hungover from the night before. Asuka admitted she didn’t give it her all today but she is determined to win. Even so, Asuka knows they can’t get past the 2nd Round if she wrestles while hungover again. Kamifuku is also scared of going up against 121000000 next and suggested taking a shot of tequila to get rid of her fear.

Idols Yui Okada and Lingling accompanied Miyu Yamashita for her entrance and posed for a group photo with her team before the 8-Women Tag Match. They are two of the hosts from the show “Universe Bible” on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

Ring announcer Sayuri Namba received a letter from NEO Biishiki-gun to read during the opening announcements. The letter said Sakisama & Mei Saint-Michel will return to TJPW and participate at the 11th February Korakuen Hall show.

CyberFight Festival 2022 Announced

January 11, 2022

“CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2022”, 12/06/2022
Saitama Super Arena

Last year the CyberFight promotions all got together to put on the first “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL” supershow in Saitama Super Arena. It was such a success that they are bringing it back this year! The joint show will again be presented by DDT, NOAH, Tokyo Joshi Pro & Ganbare☆Pro. So far no decisions have been made for any championship bouts or interpromotional matches to take place on the show. Everyone is keeping an eye on what is going on within each of the groups before they will put any potential cards together.

A press conference was held today by representatives of each company to announce the show.

Sanshiro Takagi said the first “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL” got the best reaction they could get. It was a show where the distinct charms of all four companies were on display for everyone to see. So they wanted to hold it again to show the world how appealing pro wrestling is.

Naomichi Marufuji described how last year each group showed their own colours and the clash of ideologies between them was festival worthy. This year each group will get to show how much they have grown which he thinks will make the show even more exciting.

Akito hopes the festival will become established as an annual event. He wants it where wrestling fans will know that every June there will be the “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL” to look forward to. While last year’s show was built around rivalries, title bouts and offer matches Akito thinks they can do stuff this year that couldn’t be done back then.

Tetsuya Koda thinks TJPW made a strong impression towards fans of the other companies by surprising them with great matches and good wrestlers who were not well known. TJPW has gotten more new fans since then so while the situation won’t be the same this year he is sure the other fanbases will be even more excited to see TJPW again and have higher expectations.

Ken Ohka thought Ganpro could have left a mark on the first festival but he wasn’t satisfied with being stuck in the pre-show. He promises Ganpro will provide hot and soulful matches that will beat anything the other companies will put together.

A chance to reunite took place in March last year but that was just a ruse for Takao to embarrass him. He has since turned over a new leaf so it is up to HARASHIMA to trust him again.

Meanwhile the newly named Free WiFi face a much larger threat in the form of The Bakuretsu Sisters. There is still the other side of the bracket to get through first. The remaining matches in Round 1 take place this Saturday.

1. Special Single Match: Saki Akai Vs Maya Yukihi
2. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) Vs Tetsuya Endo

At first Saki Akai welcomed Maya Yukihi to DDT on the condition that Yukihi had good intentions for coming here. Instead years of jealousy quickly emerged and reared its ugly head. Yukihi originally wanted to start her wrestling career in DDT but her attempts to join the company were rejected. So when she saw Akai do what she couldn’t it made her jealous. However Yukihi took a different route and is proud of the joshi career she has created for herself. A personal issue such as this is considered by Sanshiro Takagi to be big enough to be settled in Sumo Hall.
