7. 13th Tokyo Princess Cup – Semi Final: Suzume defeated HIMAWARI with the Ring A Bell (12:35).
The Tokyo Princess Cup final is for the first time going to be between two champions. Suzume had to beat HIMAWARI in the main event of today’s show. She tried to stop HIMAWARI’s hair whipping in the corner by pulling on her braids but HIMAWARI turned that against her and flipped Suzume down to the mat. However Suzume countered the Sunflower Tempest into a Noshigami, followed up with the top rope running Facecrusher and got the victory using the Ring A Bell. HIMAWARI is upset to make it this far in her second Princess Cup appearance but not reach the final, especially since she thought it was fate for her to be drawn with Suzume in the semi final. She promised to use her tears as nourishment into the next year so she can bloom into an even bigger flower.
Toga couldn’t take down Rika Tatsumi in the other semi final no matter what she did. The Absolute Zero and then the Muffler Hold didn’t work. Tatsumi also took Toga’s tired Elbow Strikes before hitting her back with the Twist Of Fate and finishing her off with the Missile Hip. Toga was disappointed that her blue flame that beat Yuki Aino couldn’t beat the dragon flames of Tatsumi. She also thinks she is making progress in expressing her emotions more during her matches.
At the end of the show Tatsumi and Suzume met in the ring to talk about the final taking place on 23rd August. Tatsumi admits she didn’t want to face Suzume in the tournament at all but she is looking forward to it. Backstage Tatsumi brought up the times she lost to Suzume in the 2022 Princess Cup and also in the 2024 Max Heart Tournament. If they’re going to fight then Tatsumi thinks she will need to crush Suzume completely. Suzume says this will be her greatest test so she will run all the way to Korakuen Hall using this momentum.
Match #4 was put together to be a big test for Pom Harajuku to endure. Instead it turned into a horror story for Miyu Yamashita! When Yamashita entered the ring, the lights went out. When they flicked back on, Harajuku was replaced by Sadako from the movie Ring! Yamashita was terrified and struggled to put up a fight. Sadako then found Shion Kanzaki at ringside, put a wig on her and brought her into the ring to be a decoy for Yamashita to fight. After further scares, Yamashita finally pulled off the wig and discovered Sadako was Harajuku in disguise. After that she was able to give her the Attitude Adjustment and win the match.
At the start of the show Chika Nanase announced that Tokyo Joshi Pro will be holding a show in her hometown of Sakai City, Osaka on 29th November. She said she is incredibly happy and honored to be wrestling there soon.

That memory of Taguchi being so strong has stayed with Sasaki and that is the version of Taguchi he wants to fight again.
Rukiya is expected to be ready in time to fight for the KO-D Tag Team Titles at the end of the month. He better be because this was his idea in the first place. The Tokyo Princess Cup will be heading over to Osaka with four wrestlers left in the running. The bracket in its current form ended today at the Quarter Final stage with the winners advancing to a random draw that would pair off who would be against who in the Semi Finals. Suzume took down the most experienced tournament wrestler in today’s main event. Shoko Nakajima remains the only person to have competed in every single Princess Cup but will go another year without winning it for a second time. The two went back and forth looking for the victory. Nakajima took Suzume down with a Double Arm DDT but Suzume then grabbed onto her foot to slow her climb up to the top turnbuckle. Nakajima then used a 619 to knock her back down but Suzume got back up and used the ropes to stun Nakajima with an upthrust kick. Suzume then climbed up to Nakajima and slammed her down with a Flying Facecrusher before using the Ring A Bell to win the match. Suzume credited Nakajima for meaning so much to her as a wrestler because no matter how down Suzume ever felt about herself, she never thought she was weak because of her small size. So from now on, Suzume is going to believe in her own fighting style and fly around like a hornet this summer. Backstage Nakajima said Suzume will now have to go and win the whole tournament otherwise she will never let her step foot back into a wrestling venue or her house ever again!
For once when Hyper Misao said she was going to try and win fair and square she actually meant it. The history she has with Rika Tatsumi means too much for her to treat their match lightly. With that being said, she did use the Hero Spray to get out of a Dragon Sleeper but other than that is was a clean fight! Misao tried to use her rare Vanitas finisher but Tatsumi landed on her feet and Small Packaged Misao into the Dragon Sleeper again. Misao fought to reach the ropes until Tatsumi turned the move into the White Dragon Sleeper to make her opponent give up. Misao considers her attempt at creating a summer miracle failed but on the bright side she may have discovered some new techniques to use against Tatsumi in the future. She’s also happy that Tatsumi and herself are proving that Tokyo Joshi Pro’s original members are still going strong.
Yuki Aino has learned the hard way just how hot a blue flame can be compared to her own red flame. Toga is one of the two newest faces to reach the semi finals of the Princess Cup but took a bit of a beating to get there. Aino grabbed onto Toga’s wrist so she could keep pulling her into Shoulder Blocks over and over. She went too far with it and ended up getting knocked off her feet with the Elbow Smash. Toga then put her in a Muffler Hold and held it in such a way that she bending Aino backwards into giving up for a shock result. Aino always thought Toga had something special in her so she’s happy to see her finally deliver it today. She also thinks Toga will need more powerful weaons to give herself more confidence from now on. Aino gets that every year she says she will start over when she gets eliminated from the Princess Cup so this year she will instead grow even bigger than she is right now rather than go back to square one.
The other new face in the semi finals is HIMAWARI and she did it by taking out last year’s finalist Arisu Endo! HIMAWARI fought her way out of the Camel Clutch by dragging herself to reach a rope break with her foot instead of her hand. She then kept avoiding the Ju no Okite until she found an opening to give Endo the Sunflower Tempest to score the upset. This result is a hard one for Endo to accept compared to previous years. She had so many promises to live up to for people like Aja Kong, Suzume and Yuki Arai. This loss means none of them can come true yet for quite a while so she said she needs a little more time than usual to deal with it.
The semi final draw took place backstage after the show had ended. Rise Shirai gathered the final four together and had them pick a card from her hand. Those that matched colours would face each other in the next round. The result of that is Suzume versus HIMAWARI and Rika Tatsumi against Toga both happening on 16th August. Suzume was hoping to meet Endo in the finals like they both promised each other and now finds HIMAWARI to be rather scary for eliminating the other Daisy Monkey. HIMAWARI has connections to both members but is feeling the momentum of beating one of her seniors. Tatsumi has already climbed over her “Mountain Of Death” in this tournament and decided she wants to be that for Toga since this will be their first singles match against each other. Toga cannot predict what Tatsumi is going to do but her new version of the Muffler Hold was created specifically to beat her seniors so she is counting on that move to take her all the way to winning the Princess Cup.
It was announced at the start of the show that The Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) will be holding an audition later this year to add a new member to their group. Maybe Yuki Kamifuku will be among the participants because she teamed up with most of the unit today and took part in all of their shenanigans. She even won the match for the team. It was all part of her retirement road though and she was happy to briefly experience what it is like to be an Up Up Girl as the “Denim Blue” member of the group. The actual The Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) also announced they will be holding a solo concert at Shinjuku FACE on 20th September.

The Tokyo Idol Festival is over and Tetsuya Koda has come out of it as the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion. The Tokyo Joshi Pro boss pulling off this stunt does not impress the DDT GM Hisaya Imabayashi. The two authority figures have been at each other’s throats on and off for years. The Iron Man Champion is meant to be wrestling on tomorrow’s DDT show which means Koda now has to take part. Such an idea is insulting to Imabayashi so he is adding himself to the match in response to this so he can teach Koda a lesson that DDT is not the place for amateurs in their fifties!
Going into tomorrow’s show the Right To Challenge holders are Shunma Katsumata (Red), Viento Levante (Blue) and KANON (Purple).

We’re currently on a little break from the Tokyo Princess Cup until it resumes with the Quarter Finals this weekend. Rika Tatsumi and Hyper Misao are back in the ring against each other so soon after their Princess Tag Team Titles feud last month. The other end of the bracket has Suzume against Shoko Nakajima in what is sure to be a barnburner. HIMAWARI can set off a Cinderella run if she can defeat last year’s finalist Arisu Endo. The same could be said for Toga if her frozen demeaner doesn’t melt against Yuki Aino’s fire. After this round the brackets will get jumbled up for the final four which makes predicting this round a little bit more difficult than it looks on paper.

The DDT comedy wrestlers are looking for new additions to their “Variety Team”. They are holding an audition and it is mandatory for the wrestlers they invited to take part in it.
This DDT show is going to be a small one because it is more like a fan event with some matches taking place rather than a full on wrestling show. Only one more match is planned to be added to the card.

The final day of the Tokyo Idol Festival had everyone in Tokyo Joshi Pro looking for excuses to cool down. Several of the matches held throughout the day turned into water fights and the wrestlers also advised the fans to stay hydrated so they could enjoy the festival to its fullest.
It looked like Miyu Yamashita would last through the day without worrying about anybody taking the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title from her but at the end of the morning session everybody in the ring piled on top of her to try and win it. Yamashita was pinned and when the bodies all seperated it turned out that Marina Kumamoto from Niji no Conquistador was directly on top of Yamashita for the pinfall and was now the champion. Yamashita then successfully convinced her to forefit the title back to her because Kumamoto was paranoid that one of the other ten members of Niji no Conquistador would attack her for the belt during their one of their live performances.

Another title change happened during the downtime in between shows. Raku found Yamashita backstage looking tired so she lulled her into taking a nap with a lullaby and pinned her to win the title. Raku then wanted to sing a lullaby after the main event so Aya Kajishima from The Up Up Girls (2) played her a tune using her nose on a recorder. The music made Raku lie down and Kajishima suddenly pinned her by pressing her down with the recorder. She thought she won the title but instead the referee decided the Recorder is the champion instead! Kajishima quickly pinned the Recorder to win the belt but Pom Harajuku then Shin Kicked her to win the title for herself.
Later that evening when all of the wrestling shows were completed, Harajuku was ready to go home. But as she was leaving the locker room, Pokotan appeared and attacked her, using the Ultra-Low Altitude Finally to pin her and take the championship. However Pokotan then removed its head in front of the referee to reveal it was actually Tetsuya Koda in disguise!
Miu Watanabe brought back The Giant Swing Experience Project from Day 1 and invited Niikura Ami from The Up Up Girls (2) to take part. Watanabe spun her around seven times which was a surprise for Ami because she was told she was only getting five spins. Watanabe said she got extra spins to get her in the mood for her singing performance later.

Day two of Tokyo Joshi Pro’s stay at the Tokyo Idol Festival continued the mayhem brought along by the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. When yesterday came to an end the champion was Mone Kitazawa from NGT48. But when she entered the venue at the start of Day 2 Pom Harajuku put her in a Sleeper Hold to win the title. Harajuku then went on to beat the odds and successfully defend the belt in a Battle Royal. That match also featured the wrestling debut of NGT48’s Reina Seiji and she ended up winning the title from Harajuku after the match thanks to some help from Shoko Nakajima. Harajuku quickly won it back with a Shin Kick and a School Boy before running off with the belt. But doing that in the heat made Harajuku tired so she got a drink and fell asleep on the ground. The referee saw the bottle resting on top of Harajuku and counted the pin to make the Soft Drink the new champion!
Seiji spoke about her debut to reporters after the morning event. She’s been an idol for 12 years and has done plenty of different things but TJPW opened up the door for her to open up a path into pro wrestling. At first she was just doing commentary on TJPW shows but then she was told she would be doing a match! She had a costume made just for today but she hopes to get another chance to wear it again some day. She also would like to win back the Iron Man Title so she can bring it to Niigata and show it to her fans over there.
In between the early matches, there was a Rock Paper Scissors challenge between TJPW and the idol group NGT48. It was a three versus three series of games and the TJPW team crushed their opposition. Haru Kazashiro, Ren Konatsu and Miyu Yamashita won all three contests against the idols.

Things got even crazier with the Iron Man Title during the afternoon session. Zahrachahiyoni Saito from fishbowl found the Soft Drink backstage and drank it to unintentionally become the new champion. Saito then appeared for one of the wrestling matches where Hyper Misao plotted to somehow give the belt to Rio Ohmori from Ma’Scar’Piece. She dared Saito to forfeit the title over to Ohmori if Misao’s team wins the match. Saito agreed to the terms after Misao accused her of not trusting her own team. Misao ended up winning the match and Saito lived up to her word, making Ohmori the champ. Misao then immediately grabbed Ohmori into a Sleeper Hold so she could win the title. But before she could even celebrate, Mahiro Kiryu appeared and rolled up Misao to take the belt and claim it belongs to her forever!
Yeah that didn’t last long. Kiryu was in the main event of the afternoon show teaming up with Miyu Yamashita and a mascot named Tama. The mascot’s gimmick is supposed to be teaching people about different part time jobs. Why it decided to show up to the match carrying a kitchen knife I have no idea! The referee warned Tama not to use the knife but it held onto it while giving the other team Lariats. Kiryu won the match for her team and thanked Tama for its help. But after the group photo took place to end the show, Tama stabbed Kiryu with the knife and then pinned her to win the Iron Man Title! Yamashita then fought with Tama and disarmed the mascot. She then intimidated Tama with the knife until it gave up. Yamashita now holds the title and fought off Pokotan backstage later in the evening to remain the champion going into tomorrow’s final day at the festival.
Summer vacation season can be different things to different people. For Kira Summer it is an opportunity for her to fly home to Australia, reunite with the family and also get into fights with some of them. For Konosuke Takeshita it is a chance for him to drop a championship before heading into the most gruelling of wrestling tournaments. The likes of Miyu Yamashita, Yuki Kamifuku and Mizuki are happy to wait until summer is over and the weather gets cooler before they go off on their next adventures. And by the time people start getting ready for Christmas we have Tokyo Joshi Pro setting up another tour of Texas for everyone to look forward to.

Takeshita had some business to attend to in AEW before he could get over to New Japan for his G1 tour. The bad blood he has with Kyle Fletcher had the two fighting over AEW International Title. Big bombs were thrown between the two of them leading to a fight on the ring apron where Takeshita gave Fletcher the Bastard Driver as well as the Wheelbarrow Suplex. However Fletcher cut off the PowerDrive Knee by giving Takeshita the Michinoku Driver for a nearfall. Takeshita used a Last Ride to put Fletcher back in position for the PowerDrive Knee but Don Callis then grabbed Takeshita by the ankle at ringside to distract him. Fletcher’s cheap shot turned things around until Takeshita gave him the Raging Fire. Unfortunately he was too hurt to pin him immediately and the pause allowed Fletcher to recover enough to place his leg on the ropes for the pin break. Fletcher rolled out of a Backslide Pin to kick Takeshita right in his arm. He then did the Vertical Drop Brainbuster but Takeshita kicked out. So Fletcher had to lift him up to the top rope where he gave him the El Generico style Brainbuster onto the turnbuckle! That put Takeshita down for the count and made Fletcher the new champion.

1. Sister Vs Sister: Kira Summer defeated Miki Fortune with an Inside Cradle (?:??).
Who could have guessed coming home would cause so much family drama? Kira Summer’s first match in Australia since joining TJPW put her in the ring against her own sister Miki Fortune at an Adelaide Championship Wrestling show. First Summer asked for a handshake before the match began but Fortune slapped her hand away. Then a hard Elbow Strike by Fortune from a tie-up sent the message to Summer that her sister wasn’t going to hold back against her. Fortune ended up losing her temper when Summer kicked out of a Draping Double Stomp over the corner. She argued with the referee over it and then pulled him into the way when Summer charged in for a Clothesline. With the ref knocked out, Fortune kept doing Double Stomps onto Summer until she realised nobody was around to count the pin. Drama continued to unfold when another member of the family, an unnamed sister of both Kira and Miki got to the front row yelling at Fortune to stop. Fortune slapped her and pulled her over the railing all while their mother was watching on too! Summer dived onto Fortune from the ring apron, made sure the other relatives were okay and brought Fortune back into the ring to continue the match. Fortune took Summer into a Dragon Sleeper but was kicked back into the ropes. On the rebound Summer rolled Fortune over with an Inside Cradle to get the victory.

I haven’t been able to get results for this match yet. At the end of the month Summer was brought into Peak Pro Wrestling as a special opponent for someone. Tarlee recently got engaged to LDeezy after beating him in a ladder match so as an engagement gift, Deezy got Tarlee a match against a joshi wrestler. He brought in Summer thinking it would be a first time matchup for Tarlee but didn’t know that the two of them had previously fought each other in Malaysia last year. It was a 4 Way Match that Tarlee won by pinning Summer so this was a chance for Summer to avenge that result.

If it turns out she has more matches over there during August then never mind what I just wrote. Given what just happened between the sisters in ACW, having their next match in a company called Riot City Wrestling sounds a bit for fitting. Zak Sabbath and Havok both look like they would often get themselves involved in causing a ruckus too.

1. EVE International Title: Miyu Yamashita (c) Vs Kay Lee Ray
One of the gatekeepers of British women’s wrestling is waiting for Miyu Yamashita’s return to EVE this August. Kay Lee Ray and that bloody entrance song of hers is back on the indies after a long stay in WWE as Alba Fyre. She hasn’t wasted any time and quickly earned herself a shot at the EVE International Title that Yamashita currently holds.
Later this summer Yuki Kamifuku’s retirement road is going to bring her back to the USA. Unfortunately it does not look like she will get to visit Ohio during this time but I doubt she’s going to complain about travelling to California either. Kitsune are bringing her in to the bright lights of Hollywood for what could be her last non-TJPW US date of her career. However it probably won’t be the last time she wrestles in America given what TJPW’s plans are for the end of the year.

This weekend Tokyo Joshi Pro has a major presence at the Tokyo Idol Festival with a series of mini shows taking place across three days. Each show featured two TJPW matches with some special guests involved alongside some idol performances. The inclusion of the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title to the proceedings created a lot of havoc throughout the day with multiple title changes happening inside and outside of the ring.
The morning show featured a Battle Royal that was won by the current champion Raku. She told the fans afterwards that the ring felt so hot under the sun it feels like she’s going to turn into yakiniku. Then when the group photo to end the session was finished, Pom Harajuku tried to roll up Raku to win the title. Raku kicked out only to get rolled up by Marika Kobashi outside the ring where there was a three count. She celebrated with KLP48 member Amanda who made her wrestling debut earlier in the show on the Battle Royal. Suddenly Kobashi tripped over Raku on the floor and Amanda jumped on top of her to become the new champ!
Later backstage Mifu Ashida approached Amanda and kept shaking her pom poms over her face while celebrating her title win. A referee stepped in asking Amanda if she wanted to give up and she agreed. That meant Ashida was now the champion.

For the afternoon session of the show, Ashida was pinned by Shoko Nakajima in the main event for another title change. Hyper Misao then betrayed her partner after the match to win the title from her. They had a tug of war over the belt that ended with Nakajima letting go and Misao hitting herself on the head and falling over. The NEO JAPANISM idol Ai Asakura jumped on top of Misao and had several wresters help her pin Misao to win the title. After that, Ashida spoke to Asakura on the microphone and tricked her into saying she was giving up the title to her. The referee counted that as a submission and made Ashida the champ. Another fight broke out among the wrestlers and Nakajima grabbed Shiori Futaba from Congrazie! to make her kick Ashida and then pin her so Futaba became the champ. Nakajima then bit Futaba’s arm until she gave up so Nakajima won the title. She remained the champion until she approached the DDT mascot Pokotan backstage and got into a fight. Pokotan knocked out Nakajima with a Headbutt and pinned her to win the belt.
Even more title changes happened later in the evening. Pokotan crashed a Niji no Conquistador that featured some TJPW wrestlers as guests and wanted to challenge the idols to a dance off. Karin Matoba accepted the challenge but during the contest Pokotan tripped and fell over. Matoba was encouraged to pin the mascot and did so to win the title. Pokotan later attacked Matoba backstage by placing its mascot head over her, scaring her into submission. However the referee decided that it was Pokotan’s Head that was now the champion rather than Pokotan itself. Then Mone Kitazawa from NGT48 found the head backstage and reached down to touch it with both her hands. A referee saw this and counted to three, declaring Kitazawa as the champion to end the day.
One of the segments between matches was called The Giant Swing Experience Project. Miu Watanabe was called into the ring to give a idol the Giant Swing. She chose Shiori Futaba from Congrazie! to take part and swung her around for five rotations. Watanabe was so pleased with it she said it was the best Giant Swing she’s ever done under a blue sky. Futaba called the experience a valuable opportunity and she appreciated being able to take part.
