Takagi Vs Suzuki In A Streetcar!

1. Falls Count Anywhere Match: Minoru Suzuki Vs Sanshiro Takagi

Last year Minoru Suzuki and Sanshiro Takagi held a wrestling match inside a travelling bullet train that made headlines around the world. Next month there is going to be a rematch but this time it will take place in a toden streetcar travelling along the Arakawa line in Tokyo. Due to the size of the streetcar only 16 tickets will be available for fans to see the entire match in person. Takagi wanted the rematch as his last chance to get revenge on Suzuki before he takes his hiatus from wrestling in matches later this summer. He believed the bullet train travelling at 285km per hour was the reason he lost last time so fighting in a tram that only has an average speed of 13.1km per hour will give him a more even playing field. Suzuki said he will end Takagi’s wrestling career in this match so Takagi won’t even make it to his hiatus.

Suzuki revealed he has never ridden on a tram before because there were none in Yokohama when he was growing up. However he can run faster than the tram anyway so it will be even easier to beat Takagi than it was in the bullet train. Takagi on the other hand has used it dozens if not hundreds of times throughout his life. He is excited over how creative he can be fighting inside a tram. He knows it is safer for him to throw a Dropkick in there than in a bullet train. This will be Takagi’s fourth singles match against Suzuki. He lost to him in Budokan Hall, the Tokyo Dome and a bullet train. Can he finally beat him when the next match takes place in a streetcar?

1. Falls Count Anywhere Match: Minoru Suzuki defeated Sanshiro Takagi with the Gotch-Style Piledriver (37:29).

All aboard the bullet train! DDT had a show taking place in Nagoya today so the company decided to rent out one of the cars on the Shinkansen for a pro wrestling match between Sanshiro Takagi and Minoru Suzuki along the way. It is the latest of unusual Falls Count Anywhere matches between the two wrestlers, this one taking place five years after their empty stadium match that took place inside the Tokyo Dome. DDT promised not to do anything that would damage the train otherwise they would have to pay for the repairs.

The train departed from Tokyo on 1:09pm. It arrived at Shinagawa Station at 1:16pm where Sanshiro Takagi stepped on board. Everybody waited for Suzuki to appear but it turned out he was not there. Instead he was waiting at the next stop in Shin-Yokohama. Takagi used his spare time to go to the bathroom.

The train reached Shin-Yokohama Station on 1:28pm where Suzuki did in fact appear once the train started moving again, entrance music included. He explained his delay was because a staff member at the station saw him in his wrestling gear and scolded him for wearing that in public. At 1:32pm the match finally began.

Both wrestlers were given restrictions on what moves they were allowed to use inside a moving bullet train. The rules hardly limited Suzuki because most of his moveset is suitable for any location. Takagi however was robbed of a lot of his power moves that involve slamming the opponent. Suzuki also had a theory he wanted to test out. He calculated that if he throws a punch at 115km/h while the train moves at 285km/h then he will hit Takagi at 400km/h!

Overwhelmed by Suzuki’s physics lesson, Takagi called for help. Suddenly Takeshi Masada entered the car, fully dressed to wrestle. He came to Takagi’s aid and together they double teamed Suzuki down the aisleway. That was when Suzuki called his own help, his No. 1 Capsule Monster Hikaru Sato! Sato showed up wearing a virgin killer sweater and targeted Takagi for being an enemy of Suwama. However the four wrestlers fighting each other caused the train to shake so Takagi warned everyone to take it down a notch.

Suzuki refused Takagi’s warning and tried to give him the Gotch-Style Piledriver. The referee Yukinori Matsui tried to stop him by saying that kind of move is illegal inside the train. Suzuki told him he doesn’t care because it will be CyberFight getting blamed for the damage and not him! Takagi escaped and put Suzuki in a Sleeper Hold when suddenly Danshoku Dieno entered wearing an apron and offering the wrestlers some ice cream. Suzuki agreed to take a quick break so he could enjoy the treat.

However the ice cream served on the Shinkansen has a reputation of being rock hard to eat. That gave the wrestlers an idea to use the ice cream as a weapon but Matsui stopped them. It eventually became soft enough to eat but Dieno then started complaining to Takagi about Pheromones being forced to break up. He wanted to take his anger out by giving Suzuki the Lip Lock but Masada stopped him. Dieno then attacked Masada and kept punching him in the backside.

The next wrestler to show up was Jun Akiyama. He hit the Jumping Knee on Suzuki and Takagi jumped on top for a pin, only getting a two count. Akiyama then held on to Suzuki while Takagi brought out the Mecha Mummy rocket fist! He threw a 500km/h Rocket Punch at Suzuki but he ducked and Akiyama got hit instead. Akiyama got mad at Takagi and left in a huff. Takagi and Suzuki proceeded to fight each other back and forth using the rocket fist.

The fight was getting noisy enough to attract attention from the next car over. Kazunari Murakami stormed into the car to complain about it! He saw it was caused by Takagi and Suzuki fighting each other so he took his anger out on Masada and Matsui instead. Takagi paused the match so he and Suzuki could wipe the sweat off of themselves with a cloth so as to not get the train dirty. He then attacked Suzuki from behind and choked him with the cloth. Suzuki freed himself when he saw one of the passengers had a bento lunch box. He took the box for himself and started eating the food inside.

The match was then interrupted by the arrival of the ticket inspector. As he checked everybody’s tickets one by one, the people on the train began to realize it was Kenta Kobashi! Takagi and Suzuki did not notice him because they were too busy Chopping each other. It was only when they bumped into Kobashi and knocked his hat off that they found out who he was. Kobashi’s music played over the speakers and he chopped Suzuki across the chest after Suzuki complained about him taking the bento box away.

As the match went past the 35 minute mark, Takagi went for one of the few wrestling moves in his arsenal that he is allowed to use. He charged down the aisle and threw a Lariat only for Suzuki to duck under and apply the Sleeper Hold from behind. Suzuki then delivered the Gotch-Style Piledriver, pinning Takagi for the three count!

After the match Takagi thanked all of the fans and the media for coming to see the event. Today is the happiest Takagi has ever been in his pro wrestling career. He fought Suzuki at the Nippon Budokan in 2012, the Tokyo Dome in 2017 and the bullet train in 2023. There is now no better time for him to call it a day and announce his retirement from pro wrestling! A ten bell salute went ahead but at the seventh gong, Takagi suddenly admitted he was lying and then gave Suzuki the Stunner! He’s not going to retire yet not before he finally beats Suzuki. Whether it is on a deserted island, in outer space or on the moon Sanshiro Takagi will one day defeat Minoru Suzuki! He then ran off with Suzuki chasing after him.

Takagi Vs Suzuki In A Bullet Train!

August 1, 2023

DDT “SHINKANSEN PRO WRESTLING”, 18/09/2023
Nozomi No. 371 From Tokyo Station

1. Falls Count Anywhere Match: Minoru Suzuki Vs Sanshiro Takagi

In 2012 Sanshiro Takagi and Minoru Suzuki fought each other in Budokan Hall. In 2017 Takagi and Suzuki fought inside an empty Tokyo Dome. In 2022 the rivalry has found a new battlefield… the Bullet Train! There have been pro wrestling matches held inside moving trains before but for the first time ever one will be held on the Shinkansen travelling from Tokyo to Nagoya. The Falls Count Anywhere match will be held inside a train car reserved by DDT with room for 85 fans to watch it in person (10 of those seats are expensive premium seats of course). The train leaves Tokyo at 1:09pm and scheduled to arrive in Nagoya at 2:45pm.

Takagi had a lot of discussions with the railway management in order to make this match happen. There will be some restrictions on what Takagi and Suzuki can do in the match for the safety of the train and everyone inside it but Takagi is certain the match will be done safely. Takagi lost his two previous single matches against Suzuki and wants to get revenge by winning this one. Suzuki has already worked out how more dangerous he is fighting inside a moving bullet train. If the bullet train moves at 285km and he throws a punch at 115km then that means he will hit Takagi at a speed of 400km! He also thinks he can beat Takagi inside a tight space so fighting inside a train car won’t be difficult for him.

In fact, the only thing that Suzuki is concerned about is what will everybody do for the rest of the journey after he beats Takagi in minutes? It doesn’t matter what limitations are put on him, his fighting experience going all the way back to Pancrase makes him prepared for anything. Should he bring a bento box for lunch and play with a pack of cards to keep himself entertained? Will there be a shopping cart so he can buy himself an ice cream? A later meeting will be held to fully decide what will and will not be allowed.

Takagi has told DDT and CyberFight to be prepared for whatever happens in the match. I don’t mean safety wise but publicity. A star like Suzuki being involved means news of this match will reach all around the world. Takagi guarantees something amazing will happen. This match is happening the same day DDT is holding a show in Nagoya. Suzuki has agreed to wrestle on that show too.

Wrestlers waited at stations in Nishi-Kiga, Kanasashi, Miyaguchi and Tenryu-Futamata to board the train and enter the match. Whoever was thrown out of the train at these stations and left behind were eliminated. By the time the train reached its final stop there were only a few competitors remaining. Yukio Naya ended up being the last man standing, wiping out others with the Knee Lift and submitting Toi Kojima with a Cobra Twist right there on the boarding platform.

In a rematch from the D-Ou Grand Prix draw that happened in November, Kazusada Higuchi and Yuji Hino are facing off again this time with the KO-D Openweight Title on the line. The previous match had a total of 182 chops thrown between the two and still ended without a winner. Admittedly, Hino demanded the match more because he wants to fight Higuchi again rather than because of a desire to win the KO-D Title for a second time.

BURNING defends their newly won KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles against Pheromones. Kotaro Suzuki was told when you come to DDT, a confrontation against Pheromones is inevitable. Tetsuya Endo & Yusuke Okada are already trying to get into their opponent’s heads by telling them what they do is not sexy at all. Koju Takeda will be the wild card because he is the third man on the Pheromones side instead of Yumehito Imanari.

3. Yoro Valley Day 2022 Special 6-Man Tag Match: Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama & Yusuke Okada defeated Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Sakaguchi & Hideki Okatani when Endo pinned Okatani with the Burning Star Press (16:39).

DDT took a trip across Chiba with the Kominato Railway as part of a day event sponsored by the Ichihara City Tourism Association. It began at Goi Station where 32 passengers got to witness a Falls Count Anywhere Rumble held inside the train as it went from town to town. When the train departed Goi, Hiroshi Yamato made his entrance and sang a song for the audience. The first stop was at Umatate Station where Toru Owashi and Shunma Katsumata climbed aboard to start the match.

Danshoku Dieno & Yuki Iino were the next entrants at the Kazusatsurumai Station. They did Pheromones things to their opponents while more wrestlers showed up at every stop. Owashi was the first elimination after Saki Akai pushed him out of the train at Kazusakubo Station and the train left without him. Chris Brookes and MAO were already fighting each other at Takataki Station by the time the train arrived for them.

Things got more chaotic at Satomi Station. First Kazuki Hirata entered the fray but everyone took the fight outside after it was announced there would be a 13 minute delay. When it was finally time to leave, Pheromones dragged Katsumata back out to the station so all three of them were left behind and eliminated.

The match calmed down a little bit after that. Akito entered at Itabu Station but HARASHIMA fought him off. HARASHIMA had the bright idea to run the length of the platform to set up the Somato but Akito ran into the train and it departed with HARASHIMA chasing after them. Antonio Honda went straight to the point at Tsukizaki Station and hit Akai with the Gongitsune. Everyone piled on top of her for the three count. Gota Ihashi was meant to enter the match at Kazusaokubo Station but he was seen sleeping on the ground so he missed the train.

The train arrived at its final destination in Yoro Valley Station. There was a wrestling ring set up for them to complete the match but Brookes and MAO kept fighting each other in the train. The doors closed and the two of them were ruled out of the match. The remaining wrestlers fought to the ring and finished the Battle Royal. Honda and Akito pinned each other when they both got bundled by the others. Yamato then pinned Hirata with the Fisherman Suplex to become the winner after an hour long train ride.

Two other matches were held in the ring afterwards. Yukio Naya is building his momentum with Yuji Hino by scoring another win, this time pinning Toui Kojima. It means another loss for The 37KAMIINA too.

The final match of the day had BURNING defeat Eruption. Afterwards Tetsuya Endo listed all of the unit’s members to the audience unfamiliar with DDT but got Yusuke Okada’s name wrong. He joked about the mistake and then promoted his KO-D Openweight Title defence against Yuki Ueno on 1st May. Yamato got in the ring and closed out the show advertising the Ichihara City Tourism Association.

A new KO-D Openweight Title belt will be given to Tetsuya Endo but will somebody step forth and challenge him for the title shot in May?

DDT doesn’t care if Michael Nakazawa is with AEW and booked in a title match, he is not going to main event the show!

1. Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno, Yuki “Sexy” Iino & Yumehito “Fantastic” Imanari Vs Toru Owashi, Kazuki Hirata & Yuki Ishida
2. HARASHIMA, Naomi Yoshimura & Yuya Koroku Vs Daisuke Sasaki, Minoru Fujita & MJ Paul
3. Masahiro Takanashi & Soma Takao Vs Kazusada Higuchi & Yukio Sakaguchi
4. Special Tag Match: Saki Akai & Antonio Honda Vs Maya Yukihi & Akito

The bad blood between Saki Akai and Maya Yukihi has all been washed away but they are still going to be fierce opponents even though Yukihi requested to team up with Akai. She also has to deal with Antonio Honda for the first time ever. At the time of writing, Honda is today the latest Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion.

Footage of Honda winning the Iron Man Title has appeared online. The champion Lingling somehow lost the title to an apple during the filming of a CyberFight talk show on ABEMA. She was challenged to crush the apple with her bare hand but she couldn’t do it. When she told the referee she gave up, he took her words literally and declared the apple as the new champion. Honda then walked in and fought the apple, narrowly pinning it after a close fight to take the title.

2. Konosuke Takeshita, Yuki Ueno & Toui Kojima Vs Yuji Hino, Yukio Naya & Naomi Yoshimura
3. Yoro Valley Day 2022 Special 6-Man Tag Match: Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama & Yusuke Okada Vs Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Sakaguchi & Hideki Okatani

The Battle Royal will take place on a moving train, I assume with every participant entering separately at different train stations. Only Hiroshi Yamato is being advertised in advance. The rest of the participants will not be revealed until the day of the show. The other two matches will be held in a wrestling ring set up at the final destination of Yoro Gorge Station, starting minutes after the Battle Royal train arrives.

GANBARE☆PRO “CRY BABY 2022”, 09/04/2022
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Ganpro Specialty Mixed 6-Man Tag Match: Yuna Manase, YuuRI & SAGAT Vs Moeka Haruhi, HARUKAZE & Baliyan Akki
2. Katsumura-gun Vs ROMANCE DAWN: Shuichiro Katsumura & Tsuyoshi Okada Vs Shota & Soma Takao

Tsuyoshi Okada is hanging around Ganpro a little more than usual lately. He is somebody who before has popped up on shows here and there but maybe he’s committing to the place a little bit more this year. He’s been a good teammate for Shuichiro Katsumura so maybe he’s just happy helping a friend out.

DDT Tries Out Survival Tag, Train Pro Wrestling Returns, Kobashi Dream Team With Kobayashi, Isami’s Jaw

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO JOSHI 2022 WINTER”, 05/03/2022
Tokyo Ryogoku KFC Hall

1. Nao Kakuta & Kaya Toribami Vs Mahiro Kiryu & Haruna Neko
2. 3 Way Match: Hyper Misao Vs Yuki Aino Vs Arisu Endo
3. Yuki Kamifuku & Hikari Noa Vs Raku & Pom Harajuku
4. Nodoka Tenma Vs Marika Kobashi
5. Miyu Yamashita, Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki, Maki Itoh & Suzume Vs Shoko Nakajima, Rika Tatsumi, Miu Watanabe, Yuki Arai & Moka Miyamoto

Tomorrow is kind of the go home show for “GRAND PRINCESS ’22”. There is also a fan club show happening on Sunday but that is usually just fun and games rather than anything serious. Not like Shoko Nakajima is going to beat Miyu Yamashita into a bloody mess to get some last minute heat on that show or anything like that.

DDT “JUDGEMENT 2022 TOUR IN OSAKA”, 13/03/2022
Osaka Suminoe Maikon Hall

1. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Sakaguchi & Kazuki Hirata Vs Yuji Hino, Bodyguard & Yukio Naya
2. Osaka Specialty Special Single Match: Naomi Yoshimura Vs Chris Brookes
3. Maikon no Kohara Presents Special Survival Tag Match: Konosuke Takeshita, Yuki Ueno, Shunma Katsumata & Toui Kojima Vs Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama, Yusuke Okada & Yuya Koroku

Hey, hey, hey, the Survival Tag Match is supposed to be Ganbare☆Pro’s gimmick! It’s a rule that works so well now DDT are giving it a go for The 37KAMIINA Vs BURNING. The stipulation is both teams have four wrestlers and two are chosen to take part in a regular tag team match. When a wrestler is beaten, they are eliminated and get replaced with the next in line. When a team is reduced to one wrestler left they lose because they do not have enough members to do a tag match. So the first team to get three eliminations win. Over the top rope elimination rules are enforced too for this match.

One KO-D Tag Team Champion down, one to go. Chris Brookes has already beaten HARASHIMA so now he is taking on Naomi Yoshimura. You can bet Masahiro Takanashi will get involved again.

Kazuki Hirata returns from covid and has to make up for lost time preparing for his match against Jun Akiyama later this month. Throwing him in there against three heavyweights should move him along nicely. At least he has Eruption backing him up.

DDT “KOMINATO RAILWAY TRAIN PRO WRESTLING”, 02/04/2022
Kominato Railway Goi Station

Back in 2017 DDT held a pro wrestling match inside a moving train travelling from Nakanomachi to Ogawa. They are going to do it again this time partnering with Kominato Railway in Chiba. There will be three matches taking place on the day. One will be held inside a moving train leaving the Goi Station with 32 fans in attendance. The destination is Yoro Valley Station where a wrestling ring is set up for two more matches to begin there minutes after arrival.

Right now only Hiroshi Yamato is advertised to be involved with the DDT wrestlers to be announced. There is obviously fans hoping to see the train lover Raku be able to take part. However Tokyo Joshi Pro has a show going on in Ryogoku KFC Hall that same day at the same time so we have to wait and see where she can go.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TJPW INSPIRATION”, 10/04/2022
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Miyu Yamashita Vs Kaya Toribami
2. Yuka Sakazaki Vs Moka Miyamoto
3. Rika Tatsumi Vs Suzume
4. Marika Kobashi & Abdullah Kobayashi Vs SAKI & Antonio Honda

It’s a dream come true for Marika Kobashi! No seriously, it is. Abdullah Kobayashi is her favourite wrestler and part inspiration for her own ring name (The “Ko” in Kobashi refers to Kobayashi). SAKI returns to TJPW for the occasion but I don’t know if she has the same level of admiration for Antonio Honda.

BASARA “BASARA 188 ~GLITTER~”, 12/04/2022
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

Isami Kodaka is getting surgery on his jaw soon and will be out of action during most of April, including the monthly Shin-Kiba 1st RING show. He fractured the left side of his jaw back in 2018 wrestling a cage match against Masashi Takeda. The surgery here is to remove the material that was used to aid with recovery, which I guess is stuff like a plate and screws. His first match back in BASARA after the surgery is scheduled to be on 28th April.

*Chinsuke Nakamura becomes the 1,343rd champion.

A packed monorail train of 24 fans got to take a trip with DDT across the Chiba line. The Battle Royal began with Sanshiro Takagi, Hiroshi Yamato and Konosuke Takeshita duking it out as the monorail left Chiba Station. With slams prohibited for the safety of the monorail and everybody onboard, the wrestlers had to think up of other ways to fight. Takeshita quickly came up with the idea to hang off of the train handles to Dropkick his opponents without having to land on the floor.

When the monorail made its first stop at Chiba Park Station a salaryman walked on board reading a newspaper. It was Ippanjin Munenori Sawa! Takeshita attacked Sawa and purposely ripped the sleeve on Sawa’s suit jacket. Sawa however used one of the train handles to trap Takeshita in a Wristlock.

Akito & Yuki Iino entered the match at Sakusabe Station. Iino put Yamato in an Argentine Backbreaker while Akito traded Anklelocks with Sawa.

Chaos broke out when another man in a suit started attacking the wrestlers and acting lewd. It was Danshoku Dieno! The wrestlers were put into a linked chain of Headscissors for Dieno to do the Danshoku Nightmare along the entire monorail.

With no eliminations yet the car got even more packed when DISASTER BOX got on board at Anagawa Station. HARASHIMA, Toru Owashi & Yuki Ueno got caught up in Dieno’s shenanigans. It still continued when Takeshita hit Dieno with the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title belt. Dieno just fell into Iino and got his hands all over him even more.

ALL OUT were so focused on Dieno that they didn’t see DAMNATION coming on board at Dobotsukoen Station. Soma Takao, Tetsuya Endo & Nobuhiro Shimatani kicked every member of ALL OUT as well as Dieno out of the monorail and the doors closed on them, eliminating ALL OUT from the match!

Isami Kodaka was ready for a fight when the monorail reached Mitsuwadai Station. For a few moments we got the dream matchup of HARASHIMA Vs Kodaka inside a monorail. Meanwhile Ueno put Endo in a Cobra Twist.

Familiar music played at Tsuga Station for the entry of the one, the only, Chinsuke Nakamura! Kodaka hit Nakamura with a knee to the back of the head and pinned him for the quick elimination. YeahOh!

Gota Ihashi got on board at Sakuragi Station. The other wrestlers welcomed Ihashi by forming arches with their arms for Ihashi to walk through. The arches guided Ihashi to the door at the other end of the monorail. Kodaka and Endo then kicked him out before the door closed to eliminate him.

Chaos broke out again when everyone decided to gang up on Shimatani. Even Takao and Endo got involved even though Shimatani is on their side! Takagi and Sawa also clashed with each other during the melee.

The final entrant was Antonio Honda at Chishirodai Station. He immediately wanted to give up because he was standing out in the cold for so long. Yamato dropped his guard while listening to the story so Honda used Gongitsune to pinch him in the nipple.

The monorail was still at the Chishirodai Station so some of the wrestlers took the fight outside to the platform. Yamato, Owashi and Honda found a ladder then suddenly began singing a song from Galaxy Express 999. This lured DJ Nira out from the shadows to grab the ladder with the other three and join in with the song. Kodaka and Ueno jumped on top of the group and used the ladder to pin all of them at the same time for the three count.

Nearby Sawa hit Takao with the Shining Wizard and placed him on a table. Takagi climbed a ladder beside it and put Takao through the table with a Diving Body Press. That was enough for Takagi to eliminate him by pinfall.

The eliminations then came thick and fast on the platform. Endo did a Moonsault from the stairway railing onto Takagi and Sawa to pin both of them.

Kodaka then rolled up Endo with a School Boy to pin him with some extra help by HARASHIMA & Ueno.

Shimatani dashed from one end of the platform to the other yelling “I am Nobu!” Whatever he wanted to do didn’t happen because Ueno rolled him into a Cradle for the three count.

Kodaka went and found a tag team partner to face HARASHIMA & Ueno. It is the Chiba Monorail mascot Mono-chan! HARASHIMA was surprised to discover how easily Mono-chan overpowered him.

Kodaka tried to Brainbuster HARASHIMA down a flight of stairs but HARASHIMA reversed it! Kodaka tumbled down the steps while Ueno chased after him. When Kodaka reached the bottom it was an easy three count for Ueno.

So the match came down to HARASHIMA and Ueno as the final two. Ueno shook HARASHIMA’s hand but it was a trap to roll him into a pin. HARASHIMA got out of it and hit Ueno with a High Kick. He then hit the Somato to win the match!

The match was over but HARASHIMA was suddenly approached by an exhausted looking Takeshita. He ran the entire way from Dobotsukoen Station chasing after the monorail! Chinsuke Nakamura snuck up behind Takeshita and hit the Low Blow. Chinsuke then pinned Takeshita with a School Boy to become the new Iron Man Champion! Chinsuke ran off yelling “YeahOh!” HARASHIMA called today the best wrestling match on a type of transportation DDT has done yet.
