Mirai Maiumi Leaves TJPW

September 1, 2021

This morning it was announced that Mirai Maiumi’s contract with Tokyo Joshi Pro has been terminated per her request. Yesterday was her final day under contract with the company and her final match in TJPW will take place on 4th September. Maiumi’s reason for leaving is to look for a new environment to continue her pro wrestling career. It is a very big decision for her that she gave a lot of thought over. But she believes in herself to make some once in a lifetime dreams come true. She is grateful towards Sanshiro Takagi and Tetsuya Koda for giving her their blessing to move on. She is also thankful towards everyone in TJPW for helping her throughout her two year and four month old career.

Endo Visits Kobashi, 121000000 Still Alive, Ganpro’s Big Matches

August 31, 2021

Earlier this week Tetsuya Endo visited Kenta Kobashi at his gym to talk about his successful KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles defence at “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2021”. Kobashi praised Endo for getting bigger. He noticed Endo’s movements haven’t changed and his posture in the air is good so his weight gain isn’t negatively effecting his performance. Endo was advised to target 95-100kg for his ideal weight. However Kobashi also said that Endo didn’t stand out much during the match. Instead the focus was entirely on Yuji Hino and Saki Akai.

Kobashi moved on to talking about Endo’s rivalries with Konosuke Takeshita and Jun Akiyama. He thinks Takeshita defeating Akiyama while Endo couldn’t is the kind of frustration Endo needs in order to become stronger. That along with the support of his fans is what can make Endo the champion again. Endo then showed Kobashi a video of a brand new finishing move he is working on, one nobody else has seen yet. Kobashi approves of it and recommends Endo to work on his arm strength because it is the key to make this mystery move work. He also told him to give it a good name so it will become the move that represents Endo. After an hour long talk, Endo worked out in the gym with Kobashi coaching him.

My nightmare of trying to write up the Muscle show report is back. Let’s see what 2.9 Dimensional ideas Muscle Sakai has for The Finisher Boys and The Folding Chair Boys this time. Maybe Endo will do another run in.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO JOSHI 2021 SUMMER ~STEP AND A STEP~”, 04/09/2021
Tokyo Itabashi Green Hall

1. Hikari Noa & Kaya Toribami
2. Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe Vs Yuki Kamifuku & Arisu Endo
3. Shoko Nakajima, Raku & Moka Miyamoto Vs Mirai Maiumi, Suzume & Haruna Neko
4. Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki & Pom Harajuku Vs Hyper Misao, Nao Kakuta & Nodoka Tenma
5. Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh Vs Yuki Aino & Marika Kobashi

The 121000000 tag team is still alive even though Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh have a big match against each other coming up. Itoh originally thought they would have to split up but Yamashita convinced her that continuing their team will not effect their match at “WRESTLE PRINCESS II”.

GANBARE☆PRO “HARLEY DAVIDSON & MARLBORO MAN 2021”, 12/09/2021
Tokyo Itabashi Green Hall

1. Ganpro Special Mixed 6-Person Tag Match: Shota, Moeka Haruhi & Miyako Matsumoto Vs Shinichiro Tominaga, Makoto & HARUKAZE
2. Ganpro Triple Big Singles Match: Nobuhiro Shimatani Vs Takahiro Katori
3. Ganpro Triple Big Singles Match: Shuichiro Katsumura Vs Shu Sakurai
4. Ganpro Triple Big Singles Match ~ 26 Year Revenge For The Master: Shinjiro Otani Vs Kouki Iwasaki
5. Ken Ohka Pre-Debut 20th Anniversary Special Tag Match Part 2: Ken Ohka & Yumehito Imanari Vs Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie

Look at Shinjiro Otani. He is spoiled for choice when it comes to matches against the Ganbare☆Pro roster. They all want a piece of him and he wants them too. Otani asked for a match against Kouki Iwasaki because Iwasaki’s mentor is Kenichi Yamamoto. In 1995 Yamamoto defeated Otani at a UWFi event. 26 years later Otani gets a chance to get some measure of revenge by fighting his student.

Shu Sakurai will be taking an indefinite leave of absence from Ganpro after 25th September. He explains this decision is being made for positive reasons and he will be using his experience from wrestling to take on new challenges. This is not a retirement from pro wrestling so he may return some day having grown as a pro wrestler and also as a person. Before he leaves, Sakurai wants to wrestle Shuichiro Katsumura so he gets to have that match.

GANBARE☆PRO “BAD COMMUNICATION -ULTRA PLEASURE STYLE 2021”, 25/09/2021
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Ganjo Special Tag Match: Yuna Manase & Yuna Mizumori Vs Asuka & HARUKAZE
2. THE HALFEE Vs Team Sanyo Sanin Full Scale Battle: Katsuzaki Shunosuke, Moehiko Harumisawa & Shu Sakurai Vs Minoru Fujita, Nobuhiro Shimatani & Itsuki Aoki
3. Ganpro Special Tag Match: Tatsuhito Takaiwa & Shigehiro Irie Vs Yumehito Imanari & Kouki Iwasaki
4. IJ Tag Team Titles: Kenichiro Arai & Shota (c) Vs Hagane Shinno & Shinichiro Tominaga
5. Ganpro Special Single Match: Keisuke Ishii Vs Shinjiro Otani
6. Ken Ohka 20th Anniversary Special Tag Match ~Roar Of The Lion King~: Ken Ohka & Isami Kodaka Vs HARASHIMA & Kengo Mashimo

Otani’s other big singles match this month is a first time one on one meeting with Keisuke Ishii. His appearance in Ganpro has given Ishii new motivation after he went through a slump from losing the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title. Ishii made the challenge and Otani has been impressed enough with his work to accept it.

Tenryu Project has approved of Hagane Shinno & Shinichiro Tominaga’s challenge for the IJ Tag Team Titles. They gave Kenichiro Arai & Shota permission to defend the belts after the champions accepted the challenge.

It was Otani’s idea to get Tatsuhito Takaiwa booked on the show. I don’t know about you guys but I’ve been noticing this Ganpro/ZERO1 relationship for a while and I wonder if it will lead to anything more permanent down the road.

Sakurai ends his wrestling career with the rest of THE HALFEE.

7. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Konosuke Takeshita, Yuki Ueno & MAO Vs Chris Brookes, Kazusada Higuchi & Keigo Nakamura

Now that “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2021” is in the rear view mirror, DDT is starting to shake up a little bit with new champions, new youth, a new team and the threat of existing alliances getting torn apart. We’ll get to each one show by show.

DDT “DRAMATIC SURVIVOR 2021”, 04/09/2021
Nagoya Congress Center Event Hall

1. DRAMATIC SURVIVOR ~ Losers Advance 8-Man Tag Team Tournament – Round 1: HARASHIMA, Toru Owashi, Naomi Yoshimura & Kazuki Hirata Vs Daisuke Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo, Soma Takao & Yuji Hino
2. DRAMATIC SURVIVOR ~ Losers Advance 8-Man Tag Team Tournament – Round 1: Junretsu, Yusuke Okada, Mizuki Watase & Hideki Okatani Vs Konosuke Takeshita, Shunma Katsumata, Yuki Ueno & MAO
3. Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno & Yuki “Sexy” Iino Vs Sanshiro Takagi & Antonio Honda
4. Mad Paulie Vs Keigo Nakamura
5. Kazusada Higuchi & Saki Akai Vs Akito & Yukio Naya
6. Special Single Match: Chris Brookes Vs Yukio Sakaguchi
7. DRAMATIC SURVIVOR ~ Losers Advance 8-Man Tag Team Tournament – Decision Match: Losers Of Match #1 Vs Losers Of Match #2

The name of the show isn’t just there to sound cool. The Dramatic Survivor Unit tournament was revealed to be a reverse bracket where the losing teams advance to the final. Win a match and your team is safe, lose all your matches and your unit must split up! Sanshiro Takagi came up with the idea to avoid DDT getting stale. He wants all the teams to fight for survival and there is no bigger motivation than the survival of your unit! To make things even more riskier, if a champion team is in the disbanding unit they will be forced to vacate their titles too! So if The 37KAMIINA lose and splits up they vacate the KO-D Tag Team Titles. If DAMNATION lose and splits up they vacate the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. For Junretsu and DISASTER BOX there will be no championships stripped.

5. Ganjo Special Tag Match: Yuna Manase & Moeka Haruhi Vs Yuu Yamagata & HARUKAZE

DDT “TENJIN WARS 2021”, 12/09/2021
Fukuoka Nishitetsu Hall

1. Special 6-Man Tag Team Match ~ DRAMATIC WARS: Yoshihiko, Mecha Mummy & Pokotan Vs Sanshiro Takagi, Toru Owashi & Antonio Honda
2. Special Single Match ~ DDT Vs Ganbare☆Joshi Pro Wrestling: Saki Akai Vs Yuna Manase
3. DDT Extreme Title: Shinya Aoki (c) Vs Kazuki Hirata
4. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata (c) Vs Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno & Yuki “Sexy” Iino

Back at the Beer Garden shows Danshoku Dieno and Yuki Iino appealed to form a tag team. Their request wasn’t met because they couldn’t come up with a suitable or tasteful team name. Well today they have their team name and also nicknames to match. From now on Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno & Yuki “Sexy” Iino are Pheromones! They immediately challenged Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata for the KO-D Tag Titles and got their shot so they would stop annoying the champions.

If the KO-D Tag Titles happen to be vacated because The 37KAMIINA lose the Dramatic Survivor tournament, then the match will be changed into a decision bout to determine the new champions. So at least Takeshita & Katsumata have a chance to reclaim the belts after they are forced to give them up.

DDT “WHO’S GONNA TOP? 2021”, 26/09/2021
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Masahiro Takanashi DDT Return Match: Masahiro Takanashi, Toru Owashi & Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno Vs Yukio Sakaguchi, Saki Akai & Antonio Honda
2. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) Vs Chris Brookes

The new KO-D Openweight Champion Takeshita took some time to reflect on his latest accomplishment. After finally beating Jun Akiyama, the KO-D Title belt now has a different weight to it and Takeshita feels a different responsibility when it comes to defending it. He is in his best condition because of this pressure and is ready to take on Chris Brookes. He hasn’t beaten Brookes since July 2019 when he defended the KO-D Title against him back then. Brookes has won every singles match they’ve had together since then, which were either championship or tournament matches.

Masahiro Takanashi has become active again since coming back from injury. Not in the ring though because ChocoPro doesn’t have one. He wrestles his first match in DDT since March 2020.

DDT “GET ALIVE 2021”, 12/10/2021
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. DDT Universal Title: Daisuke Sasaki (c) Vs X

After stealing the belt multiple times over the last month, Daisuke Sasaki in now officially the DDT Universal Champion. His first title defence will be on 12th October and he has the right to choose his challenger. He chose CM Punk but DDT cannot make that happen for multiple reasons. Sasaki then picked Minoru Fujita as his back-up choice. Fujita beat Sasaki at July’s DAMNATION produced show so Sasaki wants to avenge that loss. The match is not official yet but DDT will send the challenge over to Fujita.

4. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Tetsuya Endo, Soma Takao & Yuji Hino (c) Vs Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Sakaguchi & Saki Akai
5. DDT Universal Title: Yuki Ueno (c) Vs Daisuke Sasaki
6. KO-D Openweight Title: Jun Akiyama (c) Vs Konosuke Takeshita

I am aiming to have a preview written and posted by Thursday night at the latest.

The main event will have Kenta Kobashi at ringside to witness the KO-D Openweight Title match. Whenever he shows up for big matches involving Jun Akiyama, Akiyama usually wins so he is kind of a good luck charm for him. That isn’t meant to be the intention of his appearances though. Last time he appeared in DDT he was invited by Tetsuya Endo to give advice for fighting against Akiyama.

Yuki Ueno briefly had the DDT Universal Title returned to him during today’s press conference. Hisaya Imabayashi convinced Daisuke Sasaki to send the belt back in order to sign the match contract but Sasaki did not attend the signing. Instead he sent a video message that Ueno watched. That turned out to be a trap and Sasaki was in the room all along! He ambushed Ueno, stole the belt and ran off with it yet again!

Saki Akai is determined to win the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles and silence those who are uncomfortable with her wrestling against men. Like Yuji Hino for example. He thinks having a woman on the team is like taking part in a Handicap match. Akai admits she is afraid of taking Chops from Yuji Hino (and he swears he won’t Chop her because it would result in murder) but she needs to overcome those fears to become a champion again. Yukio Sakaguchi credits Akai for burning a fire within himself and Kazusada Higuchi that they have been missing recently. That has been shown during Sakaguchi’s clashes with Soma Takao. They may have to face a cruel reality though. Endo has warned that he has only gotten better since the title match was put together. DAMNATION’s comments made Akai mad and she slapped the rest of Eruption to fire them up.

There has been an attempt by DDT recently to put together more hardcore matches. Jun Kasai has watched some and feels lukewarm towards them. They’re a bit too relaxed for his tastes. But rumours are going around that Kasai has a low pain threshold for stepping on Lego. Shunma Katsumata brought it up and Kasai avoided the topic by saying he never feels pain when he is in front of an audience. MAO wants to prove there is nothing “relaxed” about DDT’s hardcore style. Chris Brookes thinks he is being ignored because he doesn’t feature in the hype video for the match.

The youngsters from the DDT Teenage Project want to make an impact. Ilusion promises to make that impact and be the standout of the match so he can become the symbol of the project. El Unicorn is the smallest wrestler in the match but wants to be in the ring with the likes of Yuji Okabayashi and Naomi Yoshimura. They’re not the only teenagers in the match. Reimu Imai is 16 years old and looks forward to hitting the larger opponents with all he’s got. TAMURA is fascinated to see how these teenagers will fare. HARASHIMA is excited to see DDT run a big show outdoors and it reminds him of the other outdoor shows DDT has held throughout his time with them.

4. 3 Way Match: Choun-Shiryu Vs Makoto Vs Itsuki Aoki
5. Ganjo Special Tag Match: Yuna Manase & Moeka Haruhi Vs Yuu Yamagata & HARUKAZE

Oh the betrayal! HARUKAZE got Yuu Yamagata’s message loud and clear, ditching Yuna Manase after all they did to build up Ganbare☆Joshi together. Now HARUKAZE is siding with Yamagata to learn how to become stronger. Manase still has Moeka Haruhi to rely on and they will fight to bring HARUKAZE back to Ganjo.

Makoto is also sticking around for a while as part of Yamagata’s group. That’s a woman with a lot of different links and connections in the industry so not all of her matches will be attached to the Manase/Yamagata feud.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “WRESTLE PRINCESS II”, 09/10/2021
Tokyo Ota Ward Gymnasium

1. Princess Of Princess Title: Miyu Yamashita (c) Vs Maki Itoh

Doesn’t matter how battered and bruised she is right now because Maki Itoh could not be happier. After winning the Tokyo Princess Cup she will now face Miyu Yamashita for the Princess Of Princess Title at Ota Ward Gymnasium. Yamashita is amazed at how strong Itoh has become and she wants to beat this version of her. They’ve had several singles matches before including two Princess Title bouts and Itoh has never won any of them. They also team together as 121000000 but Itoh thought they should disband. Yamashita talked her out of it because it wouldn’t make a difference to the match. Therefore there’s no need to split the team up.

Yuki Arai is confirmed to be on the show.

Mei Saint-Michel today asked if she can team with Martha sometime so maybe Sakisama will give them permission. The superhero and the cassowary team up for the first time. 5. DDT Universal Title: Yuki Ueno (c) Vs Daisuke Sasaki
6. KO-D Openweight Title: Jun Akiyama (c) Vs Konosuke Takeshita

A press conference was held today covering some of the important “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2021” matches. Konosuke Takeshita admitted that losing twice to Jun Akiyama is what helped make him come into this match as a much better wrestler. He wants to win the KO-D Openweight Title and say with pride that “DDT has Takeshita.” Akiyama said that although his opponent is bigger and stronger, he’s going to show him what happens when the feelings in your heart and mind prevail. Akiyama won the previous two matches by submission but will take winning the third match by pinfall if he has to.

Daisuke Sasaki was able to appear on Zoom (goofy background and all) because he is finishing up his quarantine period. His physical absence from the press conference annoyed Yuki Ueno even more because Sasaki still has the stolen DDT Universal Title.

Sanshiro Takagi explained that when students from the DDT Teenage Project turn 20 years old they will become full time members of DDT. Their school education is given priority so will not be wrestling on every show. El Unicorn said he’s been recently inspired by Momiji Nishiya, the 13 year old skateboarder who won gold at the Olympics. Ilusion said he wants to become a big name worldwide. Both of them are just as focused on fighting the big names in their match as they are fighting each other.

Yesterday Atsushi Onita gathered his team together at a parking lot in Chiba to demonstrate the explosions that will be happen for their match. A watermelon was meant to be used as the target. Kuro-chan and his group interrupted the scene and attacked Onita’s team. Super Sasadango Machine smashed the watermelon over Sanshiro Takagi’s head while Akito & Maki Itoh were both taken care of. Kuro-chan & Hikari Noa then grabbed an explosive barbed wire bat and blasted Onita with it. Kuro-chan added insult to injury by pinning Onita while Sasadango counted to three. Kuro-chan promised to retire Onita and take over the rights to explosion death matches!

I will be writing a preview for the show next week.

2. Texas Tornado Street Fight Special Mixed Tag Match: Miss Mongol & Yumehito Imanari Vs Cherry & Shota

There’s more to Ganbare☆Joshi than just the Manase & HARUKAZE drama. Cherry allegedly won a match against Shota in impressive fashion on the last show but no evidence of it happening exists. Whatever happened between them resulted in them now teaming together. Miss Mongol usually has Shota’s number when they fight each other and Yumehito Imanari isn’t going to be distracted by any Pocchari Joshi shenanigans.
