The “Prince Of Nagoya” is one day away from coming home and after today he is feeling pretty good about his chances of winning the KO-D Tag Team Titles tomorrow. He was put in an Octopus Hold by Antonio Honda but Yuki Ueno broke it up with a Shining Wizard. Then the two of them gave Honda the My MADMAX before To-y finished him off with the Kojima Impact. Afterwards To-y talked on the microphone about enjoying these kind of intense matches because he is the strongest. However, Chris Brookes brought him back down to Earth by reminding him that he is the only wrestler in the title match tomorrow who is not already a champion. Ueno cheered To-y up by giving him a prediction for the next East Vs West themed show taking place in Osaka this August. Ueno predicts he and To-y will cross boundaries together and fight for the tag titles on that show! To-y thought about going one further by giving a prediction of his own but stopped himself, deciding to live in the present instead.

All of paleyouth were attacked by DAMNATION T.A after Match #5. Ilusion gave Takeshi Masada a Low Blow while Daisuke Sasaki & MJ Paul attacked everyone with chairs. Ilusion got on the microphone to demand Masada hand the belts over and start his career over as a trainee. He then knocked out Masada with a belt shot to the head. The three paleyouth wrestlers all had to be helped out of the ring after the attack.

The bright and energetic Junta Miyawaki might be met with a cold reality tomorrow. After his match he said he wants to win the DDT Extreme Title from Hideki Okatani because it looks so shiny. Without much emotion Okatani told Miyawaki he is just somebody who does not know when to give up. So for tomorrow’s I Quit match he will not even allow Miyawaki to give up!

The attack on paleyouth was part of an unlucky day for Yuya Koroku. He thought he had won the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title earlier in the show when he beat Kazuki Hirata in a tag match. Danshoku Dieno was part of the match and he stripped out of his tights during it. Hirata grabbed the tights and tried to smother Koroku with them but Koroku defended himself and knocked down Hirata with an Elbow Strike. He jumped on top for the pin and got the three count but was not rewarded with the championship. Yukinori Matsui noticed the pair of tights was beneath Koroku and on top of Hirata during the pin so he decided it was Danshoku Dieno’s Tights that pinned Hirata and won the Iron Man Title!

During the week MAO ran over Sanshiro Takagi in a van for the fourth time in six years. The officiating whenever that happens during matches leaves a lot to be desired and Takagi has lost all faith in the DDT referees ever doing anything about it. So for Takagi’s upcoming match with MAO in Korakuen Hall there will not be any referees involved at all! Instead it will be up to the audience to count the pinfalls in unison and if the majority get to three in sync, that will decide the winner. Other than that the match will be No DQ and have no countouts. We cannot trust a room of 1,000 people to all be able to count up to 20 by themselves at the same time without the proper guidance present.

Mizuki Watase doesn’t appreciate his bosses not living up to any promises they make to others so he agreed to wrestle SUSHI and put his championship on the line.

Watase’s decision to do that match has pushed back his plan to challenge The Deadlock for the Spirit Of Ganbare Tag Team Titles. That gives Ken Ohka & Guts Ishijima the chance to step in and grab the shot for themselves.

She can get a yarn wig for HIMAWARI, ruffle some newspaper pages together to make Mifu Ashida’s pom-poms or cover herself in orange wallpaper in order to become Chika Nanase.

Summer Sun Princess ’26 Press Conference

A contract signing ceremony took place today for the three championship matches taking place at “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’26” next month. Miyu Yamashita talked about how long its been since she last challenged for the Princess Of Princess Title and she hasn’t felt tension like this in a long time. She only wants to fight for that title when she has a vision of what she would be like holding it. She’s been in the ring with Yuki Arai plenty of times even going back to Arai training for her debut match. She loves seeing the fighting spirit in Arai’s eyes but when they had the singles match at the end of last year that only lasted a minute, Arai’s eyes were not filled with fighting spirit and Yamashita felt no excitement from beating her so quickly. Arai made up for it by submitting Yamashita with the Scorpion Death Lock a month later and that is the wrestler Yamashita wants to fight again when the title is on the line.

Arai talked about her debut match five years ago happening on the same show where Yamashita successfully defended the Princess Title. It was the first time Arai watched a title match in person and it left a strong impression on her. As champion Arai wants to become the kind of presence that Yamashita has but she is aware there are many things she needs to improve to get there. She knew one day she would fight Yamashita for a championship but never thought she would be the champion and Yamashita the challenger. She promises to excite Yamashita next month and show everyone she has become one or two levels stronger. Arai also told a story from her first year as a wrestler. She had hurt the inside of her mouth and didn’t want to eat food because it stung too much. However Yamashita kept offering her food like soup and making her take it. At the time Arai thought it was Yamashita being very strict until she realised it was being done out of love because Yamashita didn’t want Arai to starve herself and lose weight.

The weird situation over the Princess Tag Team Titles match is only getting weirder. Kyoraku Kyomei boycotted the press conference in their continued protest of being put in the match against their will. Rise Shirai had to tell Daydream to sign the contract first and then it would be signed by the challengers at a later date. Both Miu Watanabe & Rika Tatsumi expressed their disappointment in the no show but they are certain the boycott will end and the title match will go ahead. Suddenly they were asked a question from Hasegawa an unknown reporter from a magazine called “Monthly Throwaway German”. Afterward came a question from someone named Hero Oka from the “Daily Hero” newspaper. The two reporters then insisted on asking more and more questions until they were suddenly standing face to face with Daydream. The disguises were then pulled off and the reporters were revealed to be Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao! Nakajima stole the contract from Shirai while Misao blinded Daydream with her Hero Spray. Since the contract currently only has Daydream’s signatures on them, that means the title match cannot go ahead. Kyoraku Kyomei will keep the contract for themselves to make sure it won’t take place until they say so!

When it comes to living her life, Wakana Uehara puts her full effort into everything that she wants to do. But lately she’s become interested in eating all of the rare delicacies she can find in the world. Things like crocodile feet, camel meat, tuna bone marrow or what she’s most interested in at the moment… wasp lava. She heard that wasp lava is soft, incredibly creamy and has a rich nuttiness that tastes great when cooked with rice. They can also taste like shrimp when deep fried and sprinkled with salt. When Uehara challenged Suzume for the International Princess Title, Suzume later made a tweet referencing The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Uehara promises to devour Suzume so much she will get a stomach ache but just like in The Very Hungry Caterpillar she will then turn into a beautiful butterfly in the end. Suzume joked that she’s been called delicious before because her outfits are bee and honey themed but this is the first time someone is threatening to fry her crispy. But she is too big to be eaten and her strong point is how she can beat opponents who are bigger than her.

Taking a page from Michinoku Pro’s annual Great Space War, DDT tried doing a Ring Removal Death Match for the first time today. From the moment the bell rang, a cleanup crew of wrestlers all began to deconstruct the ring while the actual match participants tried to fight each other without getting in the way. The environment became more dangerous as the match progressed because the ring got more bare. Danshoku Dieno tried to put the ring back together then started arguing with the cleanup crew, causing Akito to add a new rule. The crew would be paid double for the day and be treated to an all you can eat meal if they could complete the deconstruction before the match ends! Also the match was now Falls Count Anywhere because the fighting was breaking out into the audience anyway. The ring was taken down to just one last corner post but when Yuya Koroku directed everyone to carry it out, a mystery figure appeared and knocked him out with a hammer. It was Kazuki Hirata and he pinned Koroku to win back the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title! With no ring left, Dieno had to resort to giving Yuni the Danshoku Driver onto a pile of beer cans nearby to win the match. His team was rewarded with a year long exemption from being in the cleanup crew for DDT events held inside Ueno Park.

News came on short notice that Daisuke Sasaki would not be at the show today. Overnight he remembered a news story from 1993 about a crocodile being sighted at Shakujii Park in Nerima Ward. He thought about it all night and didn’t get enough sleep to be able to wrestle today. His replacement was Crocodile D Sasa but the costume was eventually ripped off to reveal it was Sasaki all along. The match itself had Strange Love Connection and DAMNATION T.A all fighting each other around rubber pools filled with inflatable crocodiles. Hideki Okatani briefly disappeared only to return with somebody dressed in a horse costume. That was somehow the difference maker.

There were other Iron Man Title changes that happened earlier on the show. Daichi Sato rolled up his partner Koroku and got a three count but because he was also holding Bunbun at the time, Yukinori Matsui declared it was Bunbun who pinned Koroku and was now the champion! Antonio Honda later fought Bunbun during the actual match and pinned the puppet with the Tenzan Tombstone Driver. Koroku then submitted Honda to win back the belt and held onto it until Hammer Hirata’s attack during the main event.

Rukiya was in the corner coaching and cheering on Hinata Kasai for Kasai’s match with Yuki Ueno. Sadly it did not result in Kasai getting his first victory. At the end of the show Kasai and Rukiya looked like they were going to fight each other but instead they embraced and bowed to the fans.

For the fourth time in six years MAO has run over his boss Sanshiro Takagi with a van! The first of this week’s Beer Garden shows featured a wild Falls Count Anywhere main event that included Jun Akiyama crashing a bicycle into a castle made of chairs, the above mentioned MAO driving a vehicle into Takagi and To-y falling off the top of a ladder in shock of seeing the car accident. That last bit cost his the match because it let HARASHIMA hit him with the Somato aftwards for the victory.

Takagi got so mad at MAO over what happened that his anger spread over to the officiating. He can no longer trust any of the referees so his match with MAO on 28th June will now become a No Referee Match! MAO was confused as Takagi tried to figure out on the spot what that means. It means it will now be up to the audience to count the pinfalls and determine the winner! MAO loves the idea because he’s not sure if he and Takagi will ever have another singles match after this again. He can now go all out without worrying about any referees trying to stop him, because the fans certainly won’t.

Junta Miyawaki isn’t the only wrestler in DDT who embodies the sunshine. Shunma Katsumata proved it by dressing up like what he imagines a “Sunshine Hero” would look like.

The team captains in Match #4 had to drink an entire beverage every time somebody on their team was caught committing a foul. Hinata Kasai and Ilusion were the two captains but the ever so selfless Yuki Ishida helped Kasai with some of the drinks. MJ Paul meanwhile force fed Kasai a drink to send him to his drunk breaking point. Ilusion was still measured enough to do the Swanton Bomb and then win the match.

Exact phrasing along with the rules being taken literally made Yuya Koroku lose his match. He had Kazuki Hirata trapped in an Arm Bar and spoke on the microphone that he would make Hirata give up. However he made it sound like he was giving up instead, which Yukinori Matsui took literally so Hirata was declared the winner and still the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. But since the championship is defended 24/7, Koroku attacked Hirata after the match and made him give up to the Triangle Lancer to become the new champ.

Hisaya Imabayashi pulled his back recently and wasn’t in the best condition to complain about Match #2 ending too quickly. A cure was unexpectedly found when Antonio Honda used Danshoku Dieno’s rear to charge up Gongitsune. The attack then hit Imabayashi right in the point of his injury and made the back pain go away! Now he’s as fit as a fiddle but he was thrown face first into Dieno’s Hell Gate anyway.

DDT At Wrestle Magic, Yuki Iino Wins NOAH Tag League With Manabu Soya

It’s back to the mystical world of Monday Magic where I can’t tell what’s going through NOSAWA Rongai’s mind sometimes. For every bizarre decision he makes like booking a dozen unknown foreign wrestlers there are moments of really good ideas like getting the new Hayabusa to team up with Great Sasuke and Ultimo Dragon. Today DDT had some of their wrestlers appear on the latest season finale. Chris Brookes was in the main event teaming up with Zack Sabre Jr. once more and this time including Luis Mante to the deal. Their opponents are the three wrestlers NOSAWA has decided to build his brand around. No joke but Kaito Kiyomiya, Titus Alexander & Archie Cole are being called the MAGIC Three Musketeers! Brookes, Sabre & Mante were put together as a team because NOSAWA considers them the “Three Musketeers” of DDT, New Japan and Dragon Gate. In the late stages of the match Kiyomiya, Alexander, Brookes and Mante all took each other out with their big moves. Sabre blocked a Moonsault from Cole with his knees and sent him through an agonizing series of submission holds until Cole gave up to the Octopus Hold.

The other DDT wrestler to show up was MAO. He got to team with HAYATA from NOAH and Riita from Dragon Gate for the first time ever. Facing them was an international trio of wrestlers: Rich Port Ayala from Puerto Rico along with English wrestlers Rhys Alexios & Danny Duggan. They had Sonny Onoo in their corner for the match if you’re wondering just who is booking the foreign talent for Monday Magic. MAO scored the win for his team and he said he enjoyed the experience because he may never get to wrestle with HAYATA & Riiita again.

7. Mercari Presents NEO GLOBAL TAG LEAGUE 2026 – Final: Manabu Soya & Yuki Iino defeated Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows when Soya pinned Gallows after the Jonetsu IS (25:55).

I’m already burned out from writing the article about Daisuke Sasaki in Best Of The Super Jr. so I’m not doing a full tournament report on Yuki Iino in the NEO GLOBAL TAG LEAGUE. But that won’t take away from the fact that Iino won the tournament with Manabu Soya as his partner! The two of them entered together as Jonetsu MAX and they topped Block B with four wins out of five matches and a total of eight points. In the grand final they faced The Good Brothers. Fueled by the power of passion, Soya & Iino took out Doc Gallows with a Double Brainbuster and then used the Jonetsu IS (Big Ending/Running DDT combo) on Karl Anderson to become the tournament champions! Their rewards is a GHC Tag Team Titles match against Los Tranquilos de Japon coming up on 25th June.

There isn’t much to write about Tetsuya Endo’s match on the show. What should be talked about is he has a GHC Heavyweight Title shot coming up on 25th June. If he can beat Shane Haste then he will achieve his goal of adding his name to the lineage of past GHC Champions!

Mataro ended up having to wrestle in some of these matches and then retire from wrestling due to losing a stipulation. Now he is getting the opportunity to cancel that retirement because if his team can beat the Fake Brahman Brothers (think of all the DDT wrestlers named Yuki and you can guess who they are) he gets to return to wrestling again!

I haven’t been paying attention to Up Town but Kuroshio TOKYO Japan has been quietly building up a neat little roster for himself over there. When he launched the promotion he said he wanted it to be like a small ramen shop that attracts a long line and that just sounds like a lovely place to carve out for himself in the wrestling world. Saito is one of the new wrestlers to debut from Up Town and she is making her Super Japan debut here. Despite having less than a year of experience she is actually pretty active thanks to working on Ice Ribbon and WAVE shows in between Up Town events.

The match between Thanomsak Toba and Mac Matsuhita will be held under the rounds system with five rounds lasting three minutes each being the plan.

Some international action on the undercard with MBM from Belgium taking on Miles Karu from Malaysia.

Daisuke Sasaki’s BOSJ Adventure

Last year DDT regained a presence in New Japan’s annual Best Of The Super Jr. tournament by sending MAO over to compete. Things worked out very well for him and he narrowly missed out on qualifying into the final rounds outside of the group stage. I had expectations that MAO would compete again this year but it turns out his focus on becoming the most square shaped wrestler to ever live had the side effect of him growing too big to be eligible for the tournament. Instead, DDT decided to enter Daisuke Sasaki 14 years after his last appearance in BOSJ. He’s done this twice before to poor results. In 2011 he only got one win and in 2012 he only got two. He’s mostly a different wrestler in 2026 and he was able to have his best results ever. Too bad he peaked very early in the tour and just kept falling until the end. The moral of this story is MAO needs to go on a diet.

8. BEST OF THE SUPER JR. 33 – B Block: Daisuke Sasaki (2) defeated El Desperado (0) with La Mistica Crossface Lock (16:10).

Sasaki jumped out of the starting blocks very well on opening day. His first match in the B Block was against his good old friend El Desperado. Things got off to a friendly start with some polite hand kissing but they decided to turn up the aggression by fighting outside over to the commentary table. Back in the ring the match went back and forth until Sasaki shoved the referee into Despy’s way, allowing him to catch Despy with a Low Blow kick by the corner. Sasaki then used La Mistica Crossface Lock to make his friend submit. Obviously due to the way Sasaki won the match, Desperado didn’t want to shake his hand afterwards. He flipped him off instead. In the leadup to the tournament, Sasaki bragged that he was going to win it but secretly doubted himself. But after beating Desperado he is now 100% see himself going all the way!

5. BEST OF THE SUPER JR. 33 – B Block: Daisuke Sasaki (4) defeated KUSHIDA (2) with La Mistica Crossface Lock (7:17).

Sasaki fought KUSHIDA in the BOSJ once before, losing to him in 2011. KUSHIDA is making a habit of wrestling barefoot nowadays so Sasaki dared him into doing it for this match and he would join in. The plan was to target KUSHIDA’s left leg because it wasn’t 100% and he hit it with a chair against the ring post. When KUSHIDA kept making comebacks, Sasaki would fight dirty to cut him off so KUSHIDA used a trick of his own and tried to shove his sock into Sasaki’s mouth. Sasaki went one step further by grabbing KUSHIDA’s foot and taking a bite out of it! He then applied the Cross Facelock while smothering KUSHIDA with the sock to make him give up. Sasaki complained about how awful KUSHIDA’s feet taste like but at least he got revenge from their first match 15 years ago. Now that he has beaten Despy, KUSHIDA and Hiromu Takahashi in BOSJ matches Sasaki called himself the next symbol of New Japan’s junior heavyweight division.

6. BEST OF THE SUPER JR. 33 – B Block: Daisuke Sasaki (6) defeated Hyo (2) with the Crossover Face Lock (9:34).

The good times kept on rolling for Sasaki when he got his third win in a row. Hyo from Dragon Gate was his next opponent and this guy had a tendency of using a stuffed leopard named Myonmyon to gather fan support. Sasaki took advantage by grabbing Myonmyon and throwing it away so Hyo would be too distracted to defend himself from getting a chair thrown at him. Hyo did have the awareness to avoid a Low Blow after the referee distraction but he still got caught with Sasaki’s finisher. Sasaki then switched it over to the Crossover Face Lock for the victory. He said Hyo was so fast he couldn’t see him but he got out of the match unscathed. He is now confident he will go undefeated without a scratch. Instead the opposite happened and he wouldn’t win a block match again for the rest of the tournament.

5. BEST OF THE SUPER JR. 33 – B Block: Taiji Ishimori (4) defeated Daisuke Sasaki (6) with a Gedo Clutch (11:36).

The match against Taiji Ishimori turned into more of a DDT Vs NJPW battle than expected. The two promotions had an inter-promotional show coming up after BOSJ and Sasaki made it known to everyone that the commentator Haruo Murata was a DDT guy first and foremost. He then tried to use Murata as a shield when the match broke out of the ring. Ishimori responded by threatening to use Milano Collection A.T. as his human shield. Sasaki soon got a taste of his own medicine when Ishimori used the ref push spot against him and did a Low Blow of his own. Sasaki was in too much pain to kick out of the Gedo Clutch after that and complained that Ishimori didn’t fight fair and square. He then got paranoid thinking that by losing the match he was already eliminated from the tournament. He’ll get revenge by kicking every New Japan wrestler in the dick!

2. Jakob Austin Young & Zane Jay defeated Daisuke Sasaki & Masatora Yasuda when Young pinned Yasuda with the Jakob’s Ladder (6:33).

A couple of the shows gave Sasaki warmup matches for some of his upcoming opponents. He was given the young lion Masatora Yasuda as his main tag partner for these matches. First up they took on a pair of American wrestlers from United Empire. Sasaki’s focus was on Jakob Austin Young while Yasuda got scrappy with Zane Jay. The pairings swapped over and Young ended up beating Yasuda with his finisher. He then taunted Sasaki by taking his chair and sitting on it in the ring. Sasaki showed some sympathy towards Yasuda and warned Young he will end up getting beaten up like Yasuda in their block match.

6. BEST OF THE SUPER JR. 33 – B Block: Jakob Austin Young (4) defeated Daisuke Sasaki (6) with a BITES THE DUST onto a chair (6:58).

Once again Sasaki now knows what it is like when the cheating happens against him. Young had Zay in his corner for the match and relied on him to interfere or distract the referee when necessary. Sasaki evened the odds by grabbing a chair from the commentary table (and was angry to find another announcer there instead of Murata). Sasaki would then make Young tap out to the Crossface Lock but Jay prevented the ref from seeing it. Sasaki tried to hit Young with the chair during the distraction but Young Dropkicked him in the leg instead, making Sasaki fall face first onto the chair. Young then gave him a Wrist Clutch DDT onto the chair and got rid of the evidence before the ref could turn back around and count the pinfall. With two block losses in a row, Sasaki was now getting paranoid he was falling out of contention.

Speaking of cheating, Sasaki took on a master of it in a non-tournament tag bout next. Toru Yano was there to look over the young lion Tatsuya Matsumoto but then raced with Sasaki to remove the turnbuckle pads from the opposite corners. Sasaki pushed Matsumoto into one of the exposed buckles and then did a Diving Elbow Drop for a nearfall. Matsumoto showing guts by kicking out only meant Sasaki had to make him submit instead. Sasaki again stood up for Yasuda then started acting like he is from DDT. Yasuda got nervous and started apologizing when Sasaki ordered him to start talking.

4. BEST OF THE SUPER JR. 33 – B Block: Yoshinobu Kanemaru (6) defeated Daisuke Sasaki (6) with a Figure 4 Leg Lock (6:47).

By this point of the tour, Sasaki figured out the cheating that worked out so well for him at the start had now become ineffective. The solution to this is to cheat even more! Learning from his match with Young, Sasaki was now bringing in his DAMNATION T.A stablemate Ilusion to be his ringside attendant for the match against Yoshinobu Kanemaru. Ilusion’s interference worked up to a point but backfired when Sasaki took a drink of Kanemaru’s whiskey. Sasaki spat out Whiskey Mist but Kanemaru ducked and Ilusion got blinded with it instead. Kanemaru then gave Sasaki a series of Knee Crushers before putting him in a Figure 4 Leg Lock to make him submit. He said the result showed the difference between brains and skill. Sasaki tried to shrug off the loss because he got to drink some of Kanemaru’s whiskey.

2. Robbie Eagles, Ryohei Oiwa & Hartley Jackson defeated Daisuke Sasaki, Toru Yano & Masatora Yasuda when Jackson pinned Yasuda with a Senton (6:51).

This time Sasaki & Yasuda had Yano teaming up with them as the three faced off against TMDK. For Sasaki it would give him a taste of wrestling Robbie Eagles before their block match the next day. He got to wrestle Ryohei Oiwa a little bit too but that meant poor Yasuda had to fight off the big boy Hartley Jackson. He got crushed with a Senton for his troubles. Yano started arguing with Sasaki over it because he didn’t want to team up with a DDT wrestler in the first place. Sasaki later tried to convince Yasuda they should go challenge for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Titles.

7. BEST OF THE SUPER JR. 33 – B Block: Robbie Eagles (8) defeated Daisuke Sasaki (6) with the Ron Miller Special (13:17).

Although Sasaki did take Murata’s chair and used it as a weapon on Eagles, he was polite enough to give it back to the commentator and fought the rest of the match only by bending a few rules instead of breaking them. Other than that the match came down to a test of skill. Sasaki almost got the win using the Sasaki-Style Hurricanrana but Eagles outdid him by kicking out and then wrapping Sasaki up in the Ron Miller Special to make him give up. Eagles said backstage that he and Sasaki share a closer connection than people may realize. Eagles has trained under Ikuto Hidaka in the TAKESHIBA Colosseum so that means he learned from the tag partner of Sasaki’s mentor Dick Togo.

4. BEST OF THE SUPER JR. 33 – B Block: SHO (10) defeated Daisuke Sasaki (6) with the Shock Arrow (6:43).

With only two block matches remaining and having been stuck in the mud with 6 points, Sasaki was now on his last legs in the block. He needed to beat SHO from House Of Torture just to stay in the running even if his hopes of reaching the playoff rounds were slim. Sasaki was led down to the ring by Hideki Okatani while wearing a full entrance costume until SHO ambushed the two of them. But as SHO stomped on “Sasaki” in the ring, the real Sasaki showed up behind him and launched a counter attack. The first one was just Ilusion in disguise! Yujiro Takahashi got involved to help SHO but a ref bump allowed Okatani to attack them with his bamboo sword. Sasaki then pulled out a stun gun but SHO distracted him by holding up a metal plate with a picture of Dick Togo on it. Sasaki hesitated to risk besmirching his mentor but closed in to use the stun gun. SHO blocked him with the plate, used the plate to hit Sasaki over the head with and then pinned him with the Shock Arrow. SHO explained he was able to block the stun gun with a metal plate because there was a layer of cardboard behind the picture of Togo that absorbed the electricity.

4. BEST OF THE SUPER JR. 33 – B Block: YOH (12) defeated Daisuke Sasaki (6) with the Five Star Clutch (9:42).

No result would send Sasaki into the semi finals so all he could do on the final day of block matches was play spoiler against YOH. As you all know by now that did not happen and YOH went on to win the whole tournament. YOH was in a DDT kind of mood because he kept flashing Gongitsune hand signs during the match. He also grabbed Milano’s chair to match with Sasaki taking Murata’s chair at ringside. Both sides stared each other down until they rushed back into the ring to avoid getting counted out. Sasaki got out of an Anaconda Vice by poking the ref in the eye and then poking YOH. He also avoided the Direct Drive but a scramble for cradling pins led to YOH catching Sasaki in the Five Star Clutch for the three count. While Sasaki was lamenting over only gaining one extra BOSJ win than his previous attempts 14 years ago, El Desperado barged in complaining about Sasaki’s defeat knocking himself out of the tournament. Despy cannot believe he lost to Sasaki but Sasaki couldn’t beat YOH! Sasaki promised he will do better when he comes back to BOSJ in another 14 years time.

All that was left to do for Sasaki’s final tour dates were take part in non-tournament tag matches. Desperado wanted to team up with Hyo so the two of them took on Sasaki and his mentor Togo. It was then revealed that Togo had kidnapped Myonmyon at some point before the show. Hyo was able to rescue his little buddy while Despy got Togo to submit to the Numero Dos. Togo quickly got revenge by kidnapping Myonmyon again while Sasaki used a stun gun to keep Hyo at a distance.

3. Master Wato, Ryusuke Taguchi, Daisuke Sasaki, Nick Wayne & Valiente Jr. defeated Taiji Ishimori, Robbie X, Titán, Gedo & Daiki Nagai when Taguchi submitted Gedo with the Oh My & Garankle (10:25).

Sasaki’s last match on the final night was a complete smorgasbord of wrestlers from all over including some from AEW and CMLL. Gedo was the odd man out because he was the only person in the 10-Man Tag Match to have not competed in BOSJ this year. Sasaki wasn’t enthusiastic to team with Ryusuke Taguchi but did seem to get along with Master Wato. After the match Sasaki told New Japan when he comes back in 14 years he doesn’t want to team with wrestlers like those two again.

1. Ken Ohka & Guts Ishijima defeated Keisuke Ishii & Shinichiro Tominaga when Ishijima pinned Tominaga with the Twister (9:27).
2. YuuRI defeated Moe Hiiro with a Sleeper Hold (7:59).
3. Kouki Iwasaki defeated Shota Kawakami with the Back Drop (11:34).
4. Baliyan Akki & Munetatsu Nakamura defeated Shigehiro Irie & Sentaro Motoshima when Nakamura pinned Motoshima with the Octopus Killer (14:20).

Tyson Maeguchi showed up to the main event in his “Ultimate” form which prompted Mizuki Watase to take off his own boots and wrestling gear so he could also fight in his “Ultimate” form. Watase also leaned into Maeguchi’s strikes determined not to lose to the kickboxing style. He had a few close calls with Maeguchi getting some 2.9 pin counts. Maeguchi then decided to take off his boxing gloves and fight bare handed, almost knocking Watase out with a Knuckle Punch. Watase survived all of that to fight back with a Brainbuster, a Michinoku Driver II and finally the Venetian to get the win. Watase then told Maeguchi after the match he wants a shot at the Spirit Of Ganbare World Tag Team Titles. However, Ken Ohka & Guts Ishijima have also thrown out a challenge for the belts and later convinced Maeguchi to give them the match first on 4th July.

All throughout the show the wrestler SUSHI would walk down to the ring after some matches and plead his case for Ganbare☆Pro to book him again. He first confronted Ohka after the opening match to complain why he hasn’t appeared in GanPro since his first appearance in April. Ohka wasn’t interested and used the excuse that he is not the matchmaker to ignore him. Keisuke Ishii also turned down the offer of fighting SUSHI again, explaining the time isn’t right for him to get revenge for SUSHI pinning him last time around. SUSHI then interrupted an announcement from Michiyoshi Mishima asking to get booked only to be told has has to wait until the show was over to come talk about it. It wasn’t until after the main event was finished when Watase decided to nominate SUSHI as the next challenger for the Spirit Of Ganbare World Title because unlike the others he likes to make sure promises are kept! Mishima reluctantly booked the title match for 4th July but only because Watase would throw another tantrum if it doesn’t happen.

With his 50th birthday approaching on 17th June, Shuichiro Katsumura decided his first goal at that age is to beat Takuya Wada for the SOG Tag Titles. He also told his opponents to remember today’s match when they all turn 50. He knows Wada will be fifty in two years time and Yumehito Imanari in ten years time. He then asked Moeka Haruhi how old she is and her answer was she hasn’t kept count since she turned 25.

Mishima’s big announcement that SUSHI interrupted was regarding YuuRI and her match at GanPro’s next Korakuen Hall show on 15th August. She is going to face Takumi Iroha in a singles match! YuuRI requested this match to happen because she has looked up to Iroha and watched her matches even before YuuRI became a wrestler herself. However she believes she cannot beat Iroha if she holds onto that admiration forever. That is the lesson she learned from her match with Utami Hayashihita back in April. So when she faces Iroha she will not be fighting her idol. Instead she is going to spark her own revolution inside Korakuen!

This upcoming week is a special one for Chris Brookes because it will be the 7th anniversary of his DDT debut. In today’s main event his Piledriver to Shunma Katsumata is what set HARASHIMA up to win the match using the Somato. He then spat at To-y after the match causing a fight to break out between them until they were pulled apart. When things calmed down, Brookes talked about his amazing seven years with DDT and promised to stay for another seven or ten or twenty years or even forever! To-y went to the commentary booth acting as To-y from the future. His past self is furious over being spit on but he calmed his past self down and said he will win the KO-D Tag Team Titles. He then left and his “past” self returned to say he is now motivated to win the titles.

Shinya Aoki claims he was one step ahead of Yuki Ueno today. However since Ueno won the previous prelim match, Ueno thinks they are currently tied. The two shook hands and promised to show the fans something amazing for their KO-D Openweight Title match.

The latest adventures of the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title are taking a dark turn. When Yuya Koroku won the title the other members of paleyouth acted as bodyguards for him. However today Takeshi Masada betrayed him by jamming his fingers into Koroku’s mouth to distract him for a roll up. Koroku chased Masada around the arena and they made it back to the ring where Koroku got his revenge. He did the same thing Masada did to him so he could become the champion again. But as Koroku walked away from the ring, Kazuki Hirata suddenly appeared in his brooding “Hammer Hirata” persona where he looks a lot like HAYATA from NOAH. Hirata knocked out Koroku with his hammer and pinned him to be champion once more. With his trusty hammer in his grip, Hirata is warning everyone to stay out of his way so he can go to Sumo Hall as the Iron Man Champion and win the bullet train pass!

The contract has been signed for the DDT Extreme Title match between Hideki Okatani and Junta Miyawaki. Okatani decided it is going to be a Hardcore I Quit Match. The match can only end when one wrestler surrenders or if they get so severely injured that they cannot speak then the referee can declare a TKO. Okatani knows this will be Miyawaki’s first time doing a Hardcore match so he hopes he will enjoy it to the fullest but he also chose the rule because he wants to see Miyawaki surrender. Miyawaki is open to the idea and understands he has the disadvantage because his wrestling style is built around pinning opponents, not submitting them. However he claims to have learned submission holds in Mexico and can show everyone a different side of him during this match.
