1. Falls Count Anywhere 3 Way Tag Match: MAO & Shunma Katsumata defeated Kazusada Higuchi & Hideki Okatani and Yukio Naya & Yuki Ishida when Katsumata pinned Ishida with a Diving Body Press from the Telephone Pole through Table (29:08).

A rainy afternoon in Yokohama’s i-Canal Street didn’t dampen the spirits of DDT. They went ahead with the latest street wrestling Falls Count Anywhere match and were motivated by having a crowd of people watching the action. Yukio Naya & Yuki Ishida brought ladders with them while Eruption were armed with canes. Shunmao were the only ones not to walk into the match with any weapons. Some of the early exchanges were playful and all six wrestlers ended up forming a chain of Arm Wringers down the street.

Things broke down from there. Everyone kept bumping on the pavement. Ishida threw Shunma Katsumata into a pole. Kazusada Higuchi and Naya almost fought their way into a nearby shop and had to be stopped from going in there. Hideki Okatani kicked Katsumata down a stairway. MAO then gave his own tag partner a Back Body Drop onto everyone else. Then at the end of the street there were competing submission holds all held for the audience to take pictures of.

The fighting continued with MAO climbing up a nearby shop sign and Moonsaulting onto both Eruption wrestlers. Katsumata kept scooping up puddle water to splash over Ishida’s face. Higuchi tried to German Suplex Katsumata but it was blocked. What followed was each wrestler trying to pin each other in the rain with European Clutches. Naya went into a nearby shop and walked out wearing boxing gloves to punch everyone with! Ishida used his sumo ability to throw down anyone who was thrown into him. Okatani stopped him with cane shots.

MAO set up some chairs and tried to Cross-Arm Power Bomb Okatani onto them. Instead Okatani blocked it and slammed MAO onto the chairs with a Double Arm Suplex. Naya Body Slammed some cornermen onto the chairs and then Choke Slammed Okatani on top of them. He went for the pin but MAO broke it up with a Rolling Senton off of a chair. Shunmao set up a table and ladder. They put Ishida on the table and Katsumata climbed up a nearby phone pole. He jumped off and put Ishida through the table with a Diving Body Press for the three count! The wrestlers all got together at the end and thanked the crowd for watching.

The Golden Week pro wrestling schedule is about to begin or already begun depending on what companies you follow. I’m feeling antsy about it this year because over the last few days several wrestlers from across the scene have tested positive for covid. I wouldn’t be surprised if there will be more wrestlers getting sick and pulling out of these upcoming shows. Fingers crossed that everyone stays safe over the busiest time of the year in puroresu.

6. FRIED Yamada Festival Deep Fried Food! Special 6-Man Tag Match: Shishamo Power, Unagi Power & HARASHIMA Vs Yuji Hino, Yukio Naya & Akito

Shishamo Power finally reaches the promise land. The gimmick was created to promote this show back in January but it was delayed until May. During this time his few appearances have been to feud with Yukio Naya & Akito. They hold a grudge because they want the population of Japan to become meat eaters instead of following Shishamo’s lead of having a seafood diet. Shishamo is receiving unexpected help from local Shibushi wrestler Unagi Mask to even the numbers. Now to make their match even bigger HARASHIMA and Yuji Hino are being brought into the battle.

Other guests are on the card. Shiro Koshinaka’s previous match in DDT took place last August. Tetsuya Endo was one of his opponents for his 40th Anniversary match back in 2019 so there’s a little bit of history there between them to relive. Shinya Aoki is also on the show.

5. DISASTER BOX Vs Eruption!: HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura defeated Kazusada Higuchi & Hideki Okatani when Yoshimura pinned Okatani with the Throwaway Power Bomb (13:37).
6. BURNING Vs The 37KAMIINA!: Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama & Yusuke Okada defeated Yuki Ueno, MAO & Shunma Katsumata when Endo pinned Katsumata with the Burning Star Press (19:59).

In response to yesterday’s quick result, Tetsuya Endo didn’t take Yuki Ueno lightly today. Instead he attacked Ueno from the bell and applied his own Sleeper Hold with the intention to put the match away early. Ueno however was able to break out of the move and the match went on its usual pace from there. BURNING picked apart The 37KAMIINA by getting rid of MAO, cutting off Ueno and then focusing all of their attacks on Shunma Katsumata from that point onward. Jun Akiyama slammed him down in position for Yusuke Okada to hit a Diving Headbutt. Endo then pinned Katsumata with the Burning Star Press after the Swivel Torture Rack Bomb. After the match Endo told Ueno it is the champion’s responsibility to have a strong sense of self worth. On 1st May he will prove that his own beliefs are stronger than Ueno’s.

Eruption got to see first hand that HARASHIMA is in good form going into their tag match on 1st May. HARASHIMA said he cannot wait to fight Kazusada Higuchi again because he is still feeling his Chops from the match. HARASHIMA is firing on all cylinders so he is very excited to team with Hikaru Sato against Eruption at Yokohama Budokan. Meanwhile Higuchi confirmed that he, Yukio Sakaguchi & Hideki Okatani are the trio entering the tournament for the vacant KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. He wants to make sure that all members of Eruption are active and successful together.

Genki Horiguchi’s big appearance in DDT was spoiled when the match began and ended in the middle of his entrance before he could even make it to the ring. Horiguchi tried to take the result in his stride because he gets this is DDT and nobody in DRAGONGATE acts this way besides Kono Mama Ichikawa. But he couldn’t let it go and asked everyone to let him do his entrance again and then have a rematch. The match restarted in the middle of his entrance again but this time he made it to the ring in time to prevent another quick finish. However now he was doing a full match that meant he had to go through Pheromones. Luckily for him he pressed Antonio Honda face first into Danshoku Dieno’s butt before pinning him with his signature Backslide. Kazuki Hirata thanked him after the match and asked to dance with him. He explained that his ring skills improved after dancing with Susumu Yokosuka so dancing with Horiguchi will improve them even more! Horiguchi agreed and danced wearing the Hirata GO! glasses. Toru Owashi told him backstage that nothing that happened today is anything to be ashamed of. He promised if Horiguchi does get in trouble with his office then he will ask Sanshiro Takagi to take some of the responsibility.

In the opening match Chris Brookes sent a message to Jun Akiyama by pushing the referee Tomomitsu Matsunaga into Yuya Koroku. He then followed up by giving Koroku the Exploder Suplex before finishing him off with the Octopus Stretch. The Exploder Suplex was done on purpose but Brookes swears the referee push was an accident. Akiyama took the message and repeated his view on the matter. Treating the referee that way is dangerous and if Daisuke Kiso is in charge of the upcoming KO-D Tag Team Titles match he will risk getting injured. However if Yukinori Matsui will be the official then it’s not as much of a problem because Akiyama thinks he is tough enough to handle it.

1. King Of Street Wrestling – Final – Nagano Kawanakajima Battleground Site: Chris Brookes defeated Abdullah Kobayashi with a Diving Senton from the Ladder (20:55).

The King Of Street Wrestling Final took place over in the Senkgoku Era battlefield of Kawanakajima in Nagano. A fitting place for two warriors to have their final showdown. Chris Brookes was spotted first praying at a shrine before putting on full body armor made out of cardboard. He walked over to the starting area where Abdullah Kobayashi was there waiting for him in his own cardboard armor. The duel began with a clash and off they went into the battlefield.

Brookes got the upper hand when he tied Kobayashi up with a rope and rolled him down a hill. Kobayashi fought back by shoving grass into his opponent’s face before knocking him into a nearby stream. They fought their way over to a playground and took it easy on each other because there were children nearby. Once they moved away from the playground they got violent again. Kobayashi grabbed some splintered wood and scraped it over Brookes’s face. He then placed Brookes on a dolly and rolled him down a hill into a castle of chairs!

The deciding moment came when Kobayashi placed Brookes onto a pile of plastic boxes. He went for the Bakachinga Elbow but crashed through the boxes by himself after Brookes rolled out of the way. Brookes climbed up a nearbyy ladder and hit a Diving Senton onto his opponent’s back. That was enough for the three count making Brookes the King Of Street Wrestling! Kobayashi congratulated Brookes and handed him the trophy. The two celebrated together to close out the tournament.

6. Special Tag Match: MAO & Shunma Katsumata defeated Asuka & Yuji Hino when MAO pinned Asuka with an Oklahoma Roll (17:04).
7. Road To MEGA MAX BUMP 2022! Special 6-Man Tag Match: Yuki Ueno, Chris Brookes & Masahiro Takanashi defeated Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama & Yuya Koroku by TKO when Ueno used a Sleeper Hold on Endo (5:08).

Has Tetsuya Endo been taking Yuki Ueno too lightly all this time? The main event match between BURNING and The 37KAMIINA only lasted five minutes when Ueno quickly gave Endo the WR then choked him out with a Torso Sleeper Hold. He didn’t want to insult Endo afterwards for letting his guard down even though Endo has done nothing but insult him for weeks now. However Ueno had to tell Endo he does not have the determination of a champion! On 1st May Ueno promises to win the KO-D Openweight Title so he can carry DDT on his back as a great champion while Konosuke Takeshita represents the company overseas.

The match was so short that it didn’t give CDK or Jun Akiyama & Yusuke Okada enough time to test each other out. Chris Brookes & Masahiro Takanashi acted like they were tired anyway because they are double tag champions. The hard work is worth it because their dream is to have title defences in Thailand and tour across Southeast Asia. Akiyama sees the positive side of the match going short because it means he didn’t have to watch CDK cheat or get the referee physically involved again. He is concerned they could get somebody like Daisuke Kiso injured if they continue to make him do wrestling moves against his will (he thinks Yukinori Matsui could tough it out though).

After Asuka humiliated MAO at the press conference a few days ago, MAO turned the tables by pinning her in their tag match. The result happened after Yuji Hino missed a Lariat aimed for MAO and turned Asuka inside out with it by mistake. MAO then rolled up Asuka for the win. MAO complained about being pinned with the Michinoku Driver a few weeks agon and then becoming famous among stiletto fetishists when Asuka stepped on him at the press conference. Today’s result makes him very happy and he repeated his threat to beat Asuka in 3 minutes and 70 seconds when the DDT Universal Title is on the line! Shunma Katsumata later corrected him because that would make it 4 minutes and 10 seconds.

Daisuke Sasaki was in a good enough mood to give everyone a hint about DAMNATION T.A’s new member showing up on 1st May. Maybe he is in the venue today? Maybe he just left Japan to go to America? Maybe it is Hideki Okatani actually doing something to change his life instead of just dying his hair red! If you think the person next to you is your friend, he will betray you and join DAMNATION T.A on 1st May!

This time a Pheromones match ended by disqualification instead of the entire match being called off. Danshoku Dieno knows Hisaya Imabayashi was not here today so Pheromones went as lewd as they could knowing the GM was watching the show from home powerless to stop them. Yumehito Imanari filmed his camera as close to Yuki Iino’s backside as possible for example. Dieno said Imabayashi should record his tearful apology video as soon as possible because this is all his fault!

KANON’s journey through the DDT wrestlers of his generation is leaving him with some scars. Toui Kojima chopped his chest raw but a Back Drop from KANON was used to set up his signature Cobra Twist for the victory.

Maya Yukihi is fitting in really well with DDT. She poked Antonio Honda in the eyes with Gongitsune and had Kazuki Hirata beaten with a Mexican Stretch until Honda tripped and accidentally placed the Hirata GO! Glasses onto her face. Yukihi experienced the power surge of Hirata’s dance and went wild on everyone, including Saki Akai. She used the momentum to pin Hirata with the Snowstorm.

The return of Shishamo Power (looking a little bit smaller than the last time he was in the ring) had him & Naomi Yoshimura defeat the meat eating team of Akito & Yukio Naya. He was attacked by the sore losers after the match when suddenly another masked wrestler ran out and rescued him. The masked wrestler introduced himself as Unagi Mask from Shibushi City. The two joined forces and challenged the meat eaters to a match on 8th May.

The vacant KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles will be rewarded to the winners of a 4 team tournament held throughout May. The previous champions DAMNATION T.A do not like being stripped of the belts but they are entering with their mystery wrestler taking the injured Minoru Fujita’s place. DISASTER BOX and Eruption are also entering teams. The final trio taking part are Akito, Hikaru Machida & Thanomsak Toba. Akito saw Machida’s matches in the King Of Street Wrestling tournament and thinks he has a lot of potential to do pro wrestling inside the ring. Machida doesn’t know any wrestling moves but is confident to challenge pro wrestlers with his kickboxing ability. Toba is one of the few pro wrestlers to compete wearing boxing gloves and never considered making Machida his successor until he heard the idea.

Even though Imabayashi was absent from the show he did send a statement to be read out before the matches began. He has appointed Pokotan as the Iron Man Retrieval Captain. Pokotan has been ordered to win back the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title from Shinichiro Kawamatsu!
